I think my official advice for prospective tma listeners is: take seasons one, two, and four at whatever pace feels most natural to you, but if you try to burn through season three too quickly then your brain ends up feeling fried and frazzled, and if you take season five too slowly then you may feel as though you are covered in cold sludge. season three is at its best when you take it slow and really absorb all the mini arcs as you go, and season five is at its best when you go through it more like a novel and really go along with its provided pace without inserting your own beats of downtime.

this is a very unimportant part of the conversation i realize but. i feel like it's worth bringing up because i'm seeing a lot of people talk about not listening to wilbur's solo stuff as well as lovejoy a) because he directly profits from it and b) because. a good portion of the lyrics he's written can be recontextualized with the information shelby's given about her experiences with him. but i have not seen a single person mention the fact that she says at one point he told her he "wanted to see how much fame/wealth [he] could amass" (not direct quote but essentially the sentiment expressed).

this isn't a conversation specific to this situation - the idea that it is possible in certain scenarios to separate the art from the artist. that's something that simply cannot be done here, and it's not even solely because the lyrics come across very differently now, or because he profits off of people streaming his music (not to say that the latter isn't enough of a good reason, but you get the idea i hope).

shelby said he fully admitted to her that he just. wanted to see how much fame/wealth/etc. he could gain while he was actively abusing her. and again, this'll be my only post talking about the impact on his music specifically that i'll make, because ultimately it is absolutely not important in the grand scheme of things, but. i feel as though it's important that the fact that shelby mentioned he said that doesn't get forgotten.

I think Danny should have portal powers.

Like, not as something he develops later or gains after becoming King or what have you.

I think it should be one of his most basic and instinctual powers. Something that he had maybe even before his other basics (flight, intangibility, invisibility, ectobeams) manifested. Something he could control perfectly before he figured out anything else.

Mans died by having a portal opened on top of him. They should be an integral, fundamental part of his ghost self.

Maybe he can't open them very big or for very long or to where he wants to at first. Power, stamina, and accuracy can be something he has to build. But I think the baseline ability should be there from the start.

I also think portal powers in general would fall under the unique abilities of Space Core ghosts. That Wulf and Cujo (and in this Danny) are Space Core ghosts.

not to get ahead of myself but thinking abt future opla zolu made me a little emotional bc depending on how many seasons the show manages to get, there's high chances of seeing so many of luffy and zoro's moments. and the thing is - there's a lot of them? their relationship is built upon all these moments and interactions, some small, some big, some when they're not even together but still end up referencing or mirroring one another in some way. it's just so good. I can remember more than few off the top of my head in alabasta, jaya, skypiea, water 7/enies lobby, thriller bark, sabaody etc and that's just pre-timeskip. opla has so much potential to go absolutely bonkers with these two I'm unwell
