Okay Keelah, in your professional opinion, what pokemon are okay answers in the least favorite popular pokemon poll/you will not die for? (I voted pikachu and stand by my dragonite loving friends, but I might be canceled for evil crimes with my vote.)

youve awoken the beast kylea. also to preface this i dont give a fuck about competitive viability this is mostly just on their design and character, and a little bit abt their use in single-player

but youre in your right to vote pikachu, i considered it but voting for pikachu kind of felt like voting for saltine crackers in a "worst foods" poll bc like. yeah theyre nothing great but actively hating them seems like a waste of energy to me personally yknow

charizard is a fair enough choice to vote for given how much its popularity has been milked over recent gens so i wont bemoan anyone's vote toward it. but i personally find it hard to hate charizard on its own merit bc overall its still pretty dang solid

greninja i think is more than fair to vote for. its a very good pokemon to use in-game but it falls dangerously into the "designed to sell action figures to 11 year old boys" category of "cool" so it loops back around to being kinda lame to me. that being said i dont hate greninja theres just better options for me

lucario is the objectively correct option to vote for. i like it just fine, and i won't complain about its furrybait design (<- incineroar stan), but like cmon. its the lamest one here and we all know it and we know it. they tried to replace mewtwo with it in smash and ill never forgive that

if you voted gengar its because youre an obnoxious contrarian. i get being tired of its popularity but its popular for a reason. literally nothing to complain about on its own merit. hes purple and fat and i love him

garchomp is what i voted for personally just bc ive never really gotten the hype around it. people love to tout cynthia's garchomp as a mark of their traumatic childhood experiences with pokemon but i personally was more scarred by her spiritomb when i was a kid bc i literally thought my game was glitched when i first looked at that thing LOL. its design is fine but again feels real 11 year old boy action figure to me which i dont personally care for

i liked eevee way more before they started marketing it as the counterpart to pikachu. i despise the fucking Noises it makes in lets go eevee and onward. the eeveelutions, ive said before, are the disney princesses of pokemon in how oversaturated they are. but eevee itself isnt to blame for any of that so it felt unfair to vote for it

dragonite is perfect. theres nothing to hate. hes fat and hes orange. if you rubbed his bald head it would sound like youre squeaking a balloon. my boy lance had three of them and THAT was real traumatizing childhood experience. he delivers the mail. if you hate dragonite you'll die by my blade. and if anyone says any dumb bullshit abt how dratini/dragonair "deserved better" then theyre going to kill you too. thats their dad

I feel the pain of having a character’s body type completely disregarded 😔 I have a dnd character who’s fat and badass as hell and every time I comm art of her I mention up front “hey, this character is chubby and I’d like her to be drawn as such, if you aren’t comfortable drawing that body type please let me know and I can pick another character to get art of from you or move on and let someone else take the commission slot!” and almost every time I get the art back she’s got tits and ass and an hourglass waist. when get a wip sketch and ask for more specific corrections I get ghosted half the time and end up having to just give up and ask for a refund, and the other half of the time the corrections just make her hips wider and at that point I just give up. I rarely get art of her even though she’s one of my favorite ocs because if I have to witness one more instagram model-ification of her I Will Start Biting. it’s ok not to be able to draw different body types!! it took me ages and tbh I’m still not great at a lot of em, I gotta practice! there are a lot of fics i love in a way thats like 'this fic is fun but it doesnt feel like something that would happen in the Actual Canon' (which is fine!) but this one Does feel like it could happen in The Actual Canon which is cool

this fic also has probably my favorite depiction of nicky's relationship with god/religion in any fic ive read ('[nicky's] peace had come only after walking away from faith as a competition of intensity in favor of faith as a steady compass that he followed like the beat of his heart in his chest.'). i love the whole Drama played out by the background characters and how they all have their own ideas and motivations & nicky is just kind of resigned to being caught in the middle of it.

(also love how near the beginning joe's like 'the Right thing to do in the situation would be stay at this river and help these people.... ... ....... ... .... ... anyways see ya guys later gotta go find nicky'.)

1. not to toot my own horn but i really like how my character stories explore a certain depth of grief without it being a depression slog. zero projection on my part yknow. but its something im really prideful of. <- has not published much of anything

2. i have a lot of self-respect and im pretty upfront! not "brutally honest" bc i hate that, but ive become comfortable with myself enough that striving for kindness and love while still setting firm boundaries doesn't make me wanna curl up and die. no longer a doormat. my self-respect took a VERY long time to gather and im really proud of myself for how far ive come.

3. followup from the previous one, i dont put up with people i dont like. i wont look the other way and i wont be civil. which, idk, some people may think thats not good of me but when it's expected of you all your life even with The Bad Things, realizing that i simply don't have to if i don't want to was a big revelation for me. i dont go out of my way to be a bitch, but if i dont like someone, theyre not gonna sit and think i do like them. my feelings will be clear. on that note i dont dislike many people!
