You give yourself a peace of mind when going to the doctors

It had been four weeks since Dabis's little “visit” to your apartment, ever since Keigo told you he had roughed him up a bit, you had learned to relax a bit more, but there really was no sign of Dabi, still, there was that small molecule of stress int he back of your mind that kept nagging at you that he must have been planning something.

But something else was bothering you, specifically mother nature hasn't visited you. At first, you were so dressed with starting a new school and the fact your Ex stalked you down that the fact aunt flow hasn't visited you in over five weeks.

You thought back “Okay let's see, I got my period, then three days later we did it, then two days after we broke up, so it should be here by now., there is no way I could be, I mean we used protection so, I should be good right.” you hoped as you clutched your stomach “I need to get a test.”

You hustled to the convenience store near campus and grabbed a test, and some chocolate and checked out, and ran back to your apartment.

“Okay so i have to pee in the cut and put it on the test, I can't just pee on the stick…tv lied to me.” you thought as you sat the test down and waited. And waiting for these ten minutes felt like hell as you looked at the test, it was negative, thank god.

You looked a the back of the box

“Pregnancy tests are not 100%, too soon of a test may result in a false negative.”

“Oh come on!” you shouted as you tossed the test in the trash and grabbed your phone, you gulped and called the only other women you knew.

Your mom.

She picked up almost instantly

“Hi honey how are you doing?’ she asked “Have you made any friends.”

“Hi Mom, I'm doing okay, and yes I have made a nice friend, but I needed to ask you something real quick.”

“Well out with it,” she said

“My period..it's late,” you said

“.....I'm sorry what?” she asked

“Mom my period is late.”

“You have been at college for a month!” she said

“Mom I haven't slept with anyone here!” you yelled back

“Oh no don't tell me you-”

“Yes Mom we did, now look can you just help, I took a test and it said it was negative but i’m still scared….what should I do?”

She let out a sigh “Set up a doctor's appointment for blood work to test for pregnancy, (name) I have to ask did you use protection?”

“Yes, mom.”

“Okay good…did you always use protection?” “Yes Mom!” you said “But Mom what if im-”

“Ah, no no you will cross that bridge if you get there, now set up an appointment,” she said

“Alright, thanks ma, love you, ill call you soon.”

“You better, and tell me about your new friend.”

“I will later Mom,” you said and hung up and let out a long breath, you called the doctor's office and set up an appointment, lucicily they could squeeze you in tomorrow.

So when you were in the waiting room the next day instead of in class you got a text from Keigo

“Hey, where are you?”

“I'm at a doctor's appointment :P”

“Ohhhhh for what, or is it tmi?”

“Blood work, getting some stuff checked out”

“Well have fun with the poking and prodigy, the teacher is giving me the stink eye, want me to come pick you up after?”

“I’ll be fine thanks tho, don't skip class mister.”

“I won’t :P”

You were called into the doctor's office and sat on the table and waited, you were a bit nervous as you clutched your lower stomach.

“Hello (name), I'm dr sato, and what bring you in today?” she asked in an open voice as she sat down on the chair

“My period is late, and I think there is a slight chance I could be pregnant, I took a test but I hear taking them too early can result in a false negative,” you said as you fiddle with your sleeve

“Okay I see, when was your last sexual encounter?” she asked

“About five weeks, it was three days after my period, we used protection, but my period is like to weeks late.” you said

“Alright ill draw some blood and get it into the lab.” She said, “Was contraction used.”

“Yes,” you said

“What kind?” she asked

“Condoms,” you answered

“Alright and would you like to do an std screen today?” she asked

“Uhh, no thanks just the blood work, please,” you said

“Alright.” she said and continued to type down on her computer “i will go grab the supplies and be back soon, but from the sound of it, it sounds like a later period, have you been under a lot of stress suddenly?”

“I…I guess I have.” you explained “I moved into a new dorm away from home, after breaking up with a not-so-good guy, and he has been bugging me a lot.”

“Ah well as your doctor I will run the blood work, but to me, it sounds like the sudden change and stress in your life has affected your cycle.” she said “We will do the test just to make sure.”

“Thank you,” you said and she left, returning with a needle, you looked away as the blood was drawn out, the bandaid placed on your arm and you were sent home, they said the results would be done by tomorrow.

On the walk home, you felt a sense of shame. Thinking back on those nights, and how you now felt about him, at the time you just felt so infatuated with him, it felt right, but the situation, looking back on it, made you feel like an idiot.

“Oh (name)~” Keigo chimed in as you were walking past the fountain to your next class.

“Hey Keigo,” you said and greeted him with a smile

“I see you got a booboo on your arm.” he said pointing to the bandaid, they took your blood away to clone you.”

“Haha, no no, just some blood work,” you said

“Ah routine check-up?” he asked

“Something like that.” you said avoiding the question, you looked up at him “Hey Keigo are you feeling okay?”

“Huh, me?” he asked and pointed to himself “Never better.”

“... those eye bags say otherwise.” you said, “have you been getting enough sleep?”

“Yup sure have.” He lied

“....well maybe you should add a couple more hours of sleep,” you suggested

“...hmm perhaps I do require a nap,” Keigo said

“Also could you come over tonight to review what I missed,” you said

“I would love to, however, I have work.” he said dejected “I can give you my notes though.”

“That would be a great help,” you said as he handed you his red notebook. “I shall return it to you tomorrow in class.”

“You better.” he said and ruffled your head “Oops sorry I forgot you don't like that-”

“It's fine, it's growing on me,” you said with a smile and waved him off

“She is so cute.” he thought before slapping his face causing a couple of passersby to look at him as crazy. “No, we are not developing a crush on our best friend, who still needs to get over her psycho ex.”

The next day in class you and Keigo sat next to each other as you handed him back his notebook.

“Thanks again,” you whispered as the teacher droned on about the assignment you already finished, you liked to think ahead.

“No probs, did the notes make sense?” he asked

“Perfectly the chicken doodles in the corner really helped.” you quickly nudged him

“My draws do add a bit of a flair to my notes,” he said, you continued to check your phone waiting for the doctors to call, low and behold they finally did, and you excused yourself from the class using the back door.

“Hello, miss (last name)? dr sato here about your test results.” She said

“Yes that's me,” you said

“Well your test came back negative, however, you are low on vitamin D, I would suggest a supplement,” she said

“Oh thank goodness, thank you, doctor,” you said as you put a relived hand on your chest

“Of course call us back if you have any questions or concerns,” she said

“Thank you I will if any pop-up,” you said and hung up

“What was that?” Keigo asked, you jumped and nearly smacked him

“Jeez Keigo you scared the crap out of me!” you exclaimed as he put his hands up defectively

“I'm sorry I'm sorry you left in such a rush I thought something was wrong,” he said, you looked relieved now though.

“Ugh I am,” you said slumping against the wall

“Man it must have been something kinda serious then, have you been having faint spells or something?” he asked

“No nothing like that, just some personal issues that have been taken care of.” you said “and that is where this discussion ends.”

“Alightly, also did you know the teacher made it so if you leave his class you can’t get back in,” Keigo said

“...are you kidding me right now?” you asked as you felt your eye twitch

“Nope…wanna grab a snack?” he asked

“Might as well, I want something cold, it's hot,” you said

“Swee, I know this great ice cream shop a couple of blocks..that way.” he pointed down the street

“Well we can't go back to class, so let’s go,” you said and the two of you walked out of the building and to the ice cream shop, you just got a vanilla soft serve ice cone, while Keigo got the works.

“Keigo how do you know all the best spots for food?” you asked

“I just do.” he said “Also can I ask a question.”

“As long as it's not about the doctor's appointment, shoot,” you replied

“It's not.” Keigo said, “I was just wondering if you have seen your ex anywhere.”

“Surprisingly no,” you said

“Good, sometimes I wonder why you dated the human equivalent of a headache,” he said and you gabbed his side

“Owch!” he said

“Dabi was a headache looking back on it, but he had a charming way of weaseling his way in,” you explained

“Sorry sorry didn't mean to make it sound like I was blaming you,” he said, he messed up.

“It's fine, I know what you mean, but you sure do like to comment on my previous love life, when I know nothing about yours,” you said

“What there to say,” he said

“Well I've heard rumors that you are well…a playboy,” you said

“What me?” Kiego said “Probs because of how I dress and my laid-back attitude.”

You two were laughing a bit

“But I have had three girlfriends, one was in elementary school and she broke up with me after one hour because another boy gave her a cookie.”

“Heartbreaking.” you joined in

“Second one was in middle school and we broke up after three weeks because turns out her friends made a bet.” Keigo continued

“Geez that sucks,” you said

“My last and final relationship was in my 20s but we wanted different things and ended it after a year and a half.” he finished his story

“Different things?” you said

“Yup…like I wanted a change to my lifestyle and she wanted the same lifestyle so we kinda just split off, I mean nothing against her it wasn't like messy or anything,” he explained

“Lucky you, sometimes I wish I could go back and warn younger me.” you said “But at least know I have an actual friend.”

“Same here.” Keigo said as he looked at his watch “Unfornuinttily I have to get to my next class, so I shall see you later.”

“Later Keigo I’m gonna run as well,” you said and headed off to your next class and scarfed down your ice cream. Little did you know a certain someone was watching your every move.

Jesus christ NUMBERS. this is way too long THANK YOU FOR THE ENRICHMENT THO. im sorry i care too much about a joke character oTL

10) Neuroses? Do they recognize them as such? Oh buddy. neuroses, he has em, and does acknowledge them. He's autistic for the obvious one, it has the most clear impact on his life and is the one that has a formal diagnosis. But he does also have (pretty well managed, mostly) anxiety. His thing with rules and safety protocol goes hand in hand with it, he has gotten to the point where he can talk himself into calming down about impending disasters by just recalling how to deal with anything that could go wrong. But the 'I'm scared' default response is real, especially in the fucking apocalypse. He's a guy for which routine is really important.

11) Intellectual pursuits? Well, he made a fucking immortal dog, i think that was a pretty big one. Biology and biochem/bioengineering seem to be things hes very into, but sadly im not smart enough in these spaces to pinpoint much down.

12) Favorite book genre? Unironically nonfiction. Very dense instructional documents and peer reviewing papers. As for fiction? Sci-fi, although thats usually more for movies.

13) Sexual Orientation? Ace & gay.

14) Physical abnormalities? (Both visible and not, including injuries/disabilities, long-term illnesses, food-intolerances, etc.) Nah i think he doesn't have any physical weirdness, its all in his head LOL None of his food issues are allergies either, its all just textural disgust.

15 & 16) I'll be honest, idk about long term goals for him, i feel like this is more of a story based prompt idk. Hm.

17) Preferred mode of dress and rituals surrounding dress? He's got a very. Hm. interesting sense of fashion. This is a guy who unironically likes wearing a propeller hat. I think he's got a few other stupid hats as well, a golf visor (sorry i think he would get a kick out of the Disco Elysium froggy visor), some baseball caps with nerd shit on em. Shirts are Hawaiian shirts in loud and fun prints, sometimes unbuttoned over a graphic tee if hes feelin real casual. Chinos or golf shorts for bottoms. For jewelry, hes got a nice watch with date dials n all in it and an ace ring thats also a spinner ring for the fidget. Equally loud and fun socks with slip on canvas shoes. Does NOT like to be barefoot, wears aquashoes to swim and slippers or socks around the house. I hope you are getting the vibe of 'Had to Do it to Em' guy if he could could reclaim faggot.

18) Favorite beverage? It literally is Sunkist, but NOT the orange, its the strawberry. He also likes fruity mixed drinks, particularly the blended icy ones, usually tequila based. (Besides this, he does say strawberry coolattas are his favorite)

19) What do they think about before falling asleep at night? Tomorrows activities/going over plans. For the good, its thinking about Sunkist and what's for dinner, etc. For the bad, its ruminating on disaster outcomes and going over safety plans in his head, like rotely going thru fire escape paths in whatever place he's going to next.

21) Turn-ons? Turn-offs? Sigh. Preemptive sorrys. He likes mean people and is a brat tamer and pet owner by nature, just look at his choice in boyfriends (in this case Benrey and Gordon). The intersection of asexuality and kink may look like a weird space from the outside but thats his home. Does Not like to be touched as a general rule. He's here for the enjoyment of his partners. This is all I can elaborate on here. Sorry.

22) Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen? Lots of doodles if allowed. He's not a good artist by any stretch but drawing out simple patterns/building mandala-y shapes is just fun mindless activity

23) How organized are they? How does this organization/disorganization manifest in their everyday life? Its an organized chaos type. Everything has a home but in a way that makes no sense to outsiders. His decorating is colorful and cluttered in a knicknack way, but everything feels right where it belongs and is on display nicely.

24) Is there one subject of study that they excel at? Or do they even care about intellectual pursuits at all? Oh yeah, the whole bio-engineering thing. He also just likes to learn and read for the sake of it too.

25) How do they see themselves 5 years from today? Gettin crazy with it in his 40s baybieeeee.

26) Do they have any plans for the future? Any contingency plans if things don’t workout? Really I think he was perfectly content in his life pre-ResCas. So now I think it's like... find a new job in a lab.

29) Reaction to sudden extrapersonal disaster (eg The house is on fire! What do they do?) Outside disasters are handled with instinctual adrenaline fueled instinct mixed with memorized disaster protocol. 'Body moving on autopilot' behavior. Luckily he has very good instincts and a LOT of safety measures memorized.

30) Reaction to sudden intrapersonal disaster (eg close family member suddenly dies) Oh no, hes very much a quietly shuts down into nonverbal mode type. Stressors are dealt with by himself. Physical repetitive stims as distraction is about all for his mental disaster plans. When he doesnt have access to anything else in canon, that becomes clicking through empty cartridges and generally messing with his gun. Even if other people are having their own disasters, he is just not a verbally comforting person. When Gordon begs him to talk in canon when they first reunite post betrayal, Tommy doesnt really have anything to say. Its simply not how he works.

I lovee thinking about how they would grow up, maybe get some little meaningful tats, maybe some sleeves! im in the middle of a tbhk style anshiho rn so ill probably draw that tomorrow maybe? but i can tell you my thought on it now for sure🌟

i think an would actually have quite a few, probably just because she'd be used to seeing a lot of people with tattoos/piercings/etc. from living on vivid street (theoretically, as people in japan dont really have a lot of tattoos) but i think she wouldnt be the type to be totally covered... she'd have lots of little stars in various places ,keeping with her theme of the earrings and clips and hair, and maybe a few larger ones in less painful areas if theyre very cool or meaningful. i feel like she'd maybe even try a stick and poke? and i do like the behind the ear, thats super cute. as for piercings (you didnt mention them but im telling you anyways) she wouldnt have any mouth/tongue ones bc of her singing but would MAYBE get a nose? idk if she's that kinda gal. but definitely quite a few ear piercings. i usually draw her with an industrial and double lobes on one side and double helix and double lobes on the other. also maybe a belly button...?

shiho would probably have a lot lolz. they'd 100% have a leo/need tattoo if the au took place where they were still in it, and maybe even if they weren't. i think they'd probably have a few meaningful tattoos (like one for an, shizuku, bass, etc.) but would also be the type to just. get new ones if they were exceptionally bored. they aren't really the type to worry about appearances so they wouldn't mind having visible ones, and would have some kind of sleeve, something on their waist or hip, and maybe some leg ones... ill think more about it when im drawing it but. yeah. piercing wise- i LOVE LOVE drawing them with snakebites and an eyebrow piercing. also some ear piercings, maybe very small gauges? im not a huge gauge guy tho. uhh thats all i have tbh ill draw this soon 🙏thank you so much again

besidesthe first one idk if ima color any of these bc these sketches were primarily my looking at multiple references and trying to copy what i was seeing as closely as possible w the exception of like clothing changes and little things like that but these are the base sketches i got done before my mother decided she needed to control a 24 year old again

Please rant to me about avian hybrid/ Lion hybrid/ enderman hybrid c!Niki headcanons and au's. I NEED MORE of your c!niki banter cs I have already read your fics 3times over and over again.

i'll give some hcs for each

Avian Niki

niki is either a crow hybrid or an angel hybrid. on one hand crow niki is funny to me on the other hand badass angel

her feathers, ironically, stay white during her 'villain' arc because yaknow symbolism

when she was going out with puffy, she'd let puffy preen them

because she was the only other winged hybrid, quackity trusted her to preen his own wings

in return he preened hers while she was in jail

she used to fly with puffy because love <3

during her isolation arc, she takes out feathers as an unhealthy coping mechanism, reasoning to herself that there's no need to preen if she doesn't have any feathers left (yes it's morbid)

eventually tho she just. doesnt even wear clothes for her wings

she just hides them underneath, which is of course VERY uncomfortable

they get worse and worse and ache more and more and she wants to fly so badly but she can't unless she preens them and she can't because she just can't!

when she joins the syndicate, the first thing phil says during their second meeting is: "hey niki didn't you have wings? what happened to them?"

his voice is tinged with sympathy; he knows what it's like to not be able to fly

she freezes, just stops moving, then starts to cry

phil is worried he's done something wrong, but then she reveals that she's kept her wings hidden under wil's coat and cloak all that time (note the symbolism)

he immediately is like "what the FUCK" when he sees them because there are feathers falling when it's not even shedding season yet?? also there are a few in places they shouldn't be at all? there are some fucking missing?????

long story short it takes multiple hours to get them back in place

niki passes out during it because it's been so long since she hasn't been in constant pain

when she wakes up, phil insists on keeping her there to preen her wings

also the syndicate has a long discussion about what happened and they promise each other and themselves to help her get better

Lion Hybrid Niki

she purrs end tweet

no but seriously this girl will purr to end and back

she purrs louder than ranboo which is SAYING something

she loves the scritchy scratches behind the ears. like REALLY loves 'em. she'll just- once you give her scritches she just. surrenders and leans into it. her purring sounds like a fucking jet plane when she gets the scritchies

she can roar, she only uses it to intimidate people tho

her self-worth is just. deeper than bedrock. she has no self-worth

she and puffy are working on it but she still... needs help

sometimes she gets phantom pain from her declawed fingers. she's found out it hurts less when she massages it, but she can't actually reach it, so she asks puffy to do it, and puffy can't help but feel guilty each time she sees the stumps

also niki hates getting her nails trimmed. like HATES it. even if she doesn't want them growing as long as they did before, the idea of something sharp near her fingers after what happened just makes her blanch

eventually tho she does have to do it

she hugs puffy while ant cuts her nails, and puffy whispers sweet, reassuring comments to her.

"you're doing so good. i'm so proud of you" and "we're almost there. you okay? we're gonna get through this."

sometimes tho niki just.. can't handle it. but she doesn't want to disappoint puffy either so she tries to just get through it anyways.

didn't really like eye contact, and the l'manbergians respected that (esp eret who didnt like people staring at their eyes either) until schlatt came along and basically forced it, so she kinda forced herself to do it from then on

unlike ranboo however, she doesnt go into enderwalk. she actually hasn't got an enderwalk because ranboo got it from nervous habit and it 'evolved' from there (my hc anyway), she instead literally gets hurt

like it hurts her to make eye contact

ranboo sees that she makes eye contact despite being an enderman hybrid and is like: "...HOW???"

she's just like "oh i force myself to do it lul. cause everyone expects me to anyways. it hurts after a while but its fine"

he just goes completely silent after that, then tells phil and techno at the syndicate meeting (while niki is admiring steve) not to hold eye contact w/niki because it hurts her

techno: "HEHH??? she seemed fine when i visited her!!" ranboo: "yeah she's been hiding it this whole time because society expects her to do it." techno, an adhd fella: "..phil where are the adoption papers-"

niki's confused by the end. why did nobody look at her? why did nobody maintain eye contact with her??? did they not like her?

but at the end phil explains that they thought that because she was an enderman hybrid she wouldn't like it (they're lying to not throw ranboo under the bus)

niki just stares, then starts to cry because holy Shit they are so nice

used to bite her tail as a way of self-harm. techno was VERY concerned when he saw the bite marks, but niki just lied and said that it was a dog attack

he knows for a fact it wasn't a dog because he's been bitten and his furniture has bites and it didnt look like that

more like that One Time when Ranboo bit him while he was in his enderwalk state

cue him connecting the dots and being like "...WAIT"

niki also really likes blocks. like we all know her city is weird in some parts because it's built with different blocks, signifying niki's jumbled up mind while planning to kill tommy. but in the enderman hybrid niki hc, its also partly because blocks feel nice and she wanted to feel different ones

her tail curls around the legs of people she likes. so far, it's gone around: wilbur, tommy n tubbo (those two specifically during pogtopia), fundy, eret, puffy and the rest of the syndicate

whenever puffy made her flustered she'd blush either green or pink. no inbetween. puffy was very confused and thought niki was disgusted by her at first and was all :(( before niki explained her wack biology

(BTW, I’m working on drawing canon Jinx and fighter!Jinx side by side so I’ll be posting that sometime today or tomorrow. I’m realizing that I don’t think Silco would very much approve of her attire if he actually got to choose it, so her outfit is gonna be a bit different until she gets out. I’m slowly working at the next fic too. Trying to figure out if I should post what I have rn as a first chapter or finish it and then post them - not sure how long it’s gonna be tbh).

Jinx is very emotionally detached from people. I’m still trying to figure out if she and Ekko have reconciled by the time Vi and Caitlyn show up, but it honestly won’t be much different either way. Maybe a bit more stable with Ekko around, but that’s it.

Regardless, she’s used to being alone and she’s also kind of scared of Vi finding her. You have to remember that this Vi knocked her tf out (by accident, but she doesn’t know that). Part of her, like she thought with Ekko, is thinking that Vi has come to kill her (for killing their family), while another part of her is just scared of being close to people because she’s scared they’ll leave or betray her. She’s more of a runner in this fic than a fighter when the fight comes to her (unless it’s Silco’s people - that’s a whole other story). It’s absolutely a control thing.

She still goes off the deep end at seeing Caitlyn with Vi (not that she was very stable to begin with). However, in comparison to canon Jinx, she’s more prone to hurting herself versus hurting others. Being alone in a cell with very little stimulation she’s learned to hurt herself - pulling at her hair, hitting herself, etc - as a means of coping. We saw a little of this in Powder’s breakdown in Act I, but it’s more extensive in this AU. There’s a bit more to their reunion considering how volatile in general Jinx is, but I’ll leave it as this for now :)))

Vi is really really sad. I needed to say that.

When jinx gets her tattoos what meaning does she have for em? And whats ur opinion on the reason she got em in canon?

Honestly, I always thought Jinx’s tattoos in the game were clouds, not smoke, so I’m gonna say in this au they’re clouds (though they’ll look the same). I’ve got a specific scene in mind for this tbh. In canon, I think she did it as memoriam. Basically, a way of grieving (and reminding herself of) the death of Powder’s love for Vi. Silco has done his best to push the narrative that Vi left her, that she betrayed Jinx, and the tattoo was meant to reinforce and remind her of that.

I think she’d refuse to put anything around her neck that would cover the scars, almost like an FU. First, to Silco, and then to anyone who ever thought she worked for him willingly. In the future, she’d probably wear something similar to what in-game!Jinx wears - the bullet necklace with a thin string wrapped around her neck a few times. It barely covers her neck at all.

Edit: I JUST REALIZED THAT THERE MOTHER HAD A SIMILAR NECKLACE TO JINX. I want her to have it now just for that.

Oh, YES, she absolutely goes by Jinx for the spite factor (also for other reasons too). She wants Silco to know she’s coming, she wants him to know that it’s the monster he created, his Jinx, that is going to destroy him. It’s easier for her to stay in that mindset rather than weave in and out of it, so she does go by just Jinx for a long while. I feel like she considers “Powder” as a name, an identity, that is extremely precious (bordering on innocent) to her and she wants to protect it. As a result, while she hurts and kills, she does it in Jinx’s name, not Powder’s. Though Powder is pretty blood thirsty herself.

While the collar isn’t removable, some of it’s parts are. There are components that need to be regularly replaced, including the shimmer injections and the power source for some of the collar’s other functions (the shock being one of them). She sees the doctor a minimum of once a week for both restraint maintenance and enhancement “treatment”.

The restraints are not going to come off all at once and she will struggle with them (considering the ones on her neck and legs have no keys). You’ll see :)))))

She did initially take 5 (the 6th one was what caused the explosion in the workshop). I noticed there were at least 4 in the breakdown scene, but she used 3 of them in the monkey bomb. I’m honestly not sure where the rest went, because there’s 2 floating around somewhere but no one knows where. Personally, I’m somewhere between it being an error on Riot’s part and/or the other two showing up somewhere down the line in season 2.

And no it messes with my head too. Though, even in Arcane, she is still pretty good at short range. It’s just not her specialty. But it is half of the reason why she almost immediately switches up fighting styles after getting out. Jinx realizes pretty quickly that her usual methods in the pits aren’t going to work, so she adapts. Short range, her signature style is essentially to trap them and... pick them off one by one (imagine those scenes where there’s a group of people that are disappearing one by one into the shadows and everyone is scared/confused and concerned about who's going to be next).

Dramatic AF

I like to imagine she does her best to avoid fighting in an open area or in the light, but is a lot more vicious when she’s forced to (it’s when the “punch and kick them until they die” attitude becomes very apparent).

i typed out the entire thing and now my back hurts,,, i blame my posture,,,

ANYWAY idk if you guys have read the iliad or not so i will just sum up the different images Homer described

sun, earth, seas, stars/constellations (he names the Pleiades and Orion among others)

2 cities: the first one has wedding festivities but also a fight between two guys in the marketplace, with the city elders and a crowd watching; the other city is defending against a siege, but the army leaves the walls to fight after 2 herdsmen get killed

a field being ploughed

a king's estate with more farming stuff going on

a vineyard with a kid singing and some more kids singing/dancing along

a herd of cattle, followed by dogs, wherein one of the bulls gets attacked by lions

a meadow for the flocks to graze

a dancing circle(?)

and then the "River's Ocean" around the shield's rim

it's a lot. especially when i remember that this is sth i plan on animating somehow adhskfl im being really ambitious. anyway herein lies the problem. i dont,, actually know how to organize this?

my initial thought was to draw each image separately, then have them transition from one to the next in a loop on the shield. which i think is definitely an option but like... hmmm... idk how to explain my specific vision and sketches would not really help here....

i'm picturing like,,, having each image on a separate layer. but the images are only visible in fragments that kinda merge into each other? idk if that makes any sense maybe i will actually have to make some sketches :(((

the other option i have in mind is doing sth similar to the image below, which i found here (which has actually been turned into a mini sculpted version that u can see on that link too! its wild i am amazed by the amount of detail in both versions!). where each image gets its own section of the shield. and then from there all i would need to do is animate each section individually so they'd each have their own lil loop of "life happening"

i am torn about that tho bc i dont wanna just,, rely on sth someone else has already came up with? and it just feels a bit too busy. there is so much going on (not that my idea is any less busy ssdkjfkdhk its just in a different way i guess)

also i have to keep in mind that i should do more research on what shields looked like at the time askldffgdk i dont wanna stray too far from that once i start drawing

anyway part of the reason i'm trying so hard to explain my thought process here is bc i would actually love some input! i know @born-potty has already offered but if any of you have some thoughts pls let me know! i might try to sketch out the first option i was thinking of somehow if it's not super clear bc ugh ive been thinking about this on and off for the past few days and im still Very stuck.

gonna go to bed soonish (or at least check out from thinking about this for the night) and try some doodles tomorrow. maybe i will just draw some very rough key frames and gif that to see if it helps

Sk8ti theories!!

Spoilers for all the current episode of sk8 (up to episode 6)

- also sorry if this all over the place lmao

so i have many theories but i wanna talk about the one that im most leaning towards! so personally what i think is going to happen is that reki and langa are going to fall in love, they both fall in love with each other and i think there is going to be hinted canon romance??? i dunno they will DEFINITELY have a deeper bond than they currently are at. we can see that each episode they are getting closer and closer, langa is smiling more and they are starting to become more "touchy-feely" with each other (*coughs* the latest blessing of an episode we had, ep6, the beach episode <3). we can also see that they love each in the translation of the end credits the lines. "i like what ive always liked", "lets keep feelings", "lets keep your heart" , "let's go together" ,"you are always in my heart" - (fuckin sobs kakjdsh). i see the end credits as a convo between langa and reki so these are things that *both* of them are saying. so, yes, i think it will be requited love....at first. (fuck here comes the angst)

time to talk about fucking ad*m,,,,so what i think is that adam is going to draw langa away from reki and sort of influence him into the world of reckless skating. langa is so drawn to adam that he starts to skate more dangerously and adapt the same ways of skating that adam does. becuase of his, he starts to drift away from reki. reki usually skates by the rules and doesnt cheat, or at least he doesnt go as far as adam does. reki is always ready to try new things but he defientley isnt as reckless as langa will end up being. reki will start to feel as though he is falling more and more behind langa until langai so caught up in reckless skating that he is just gone. reki realizes its too late and that langa is too far ahead he cant keep up (just like in the intro when reki falls and when langa doesnt turn around to look back at him and how langa dissapears).

so, besides reki falling behind langa, how will this *directly* affect reki? well i defientley think that reki has some trauma surrounding adam considering how he fucking screamed langas name and had a nightmare about adam,,,like,,,,idk :( but continuing on, i think that langa is going to make a very dangerous bet, like a life threatning bet that impacts reki. and i think that langa *finally* realizes his mistakes when its too late. so, this is where my theory starts to go 2 ways.

1) reki will,,,*takes a deep breath* dies. what if langa makes such a dangerous bet and adams influence is too much that he accidnetly kills reki? BUT tbh this is one of my theories that i dont actually lean a lot towards. the next one is what i actually think is more likely to happen based on the ending credits,

2) reki *will* get hurt, but emotionally not physically (or maybe physically but i dont think so). he will see that langa is never coming back to him (or at least he thinks that) and decides to just leave him. its at this time that langa realizes "fuck ive gone too far" but its too late too chase after reki because reki already tried chasing after him and langa just ignored him. reki and langa will then drift apart although as they spend time apart they realize how much they need and miss each. what gives me this impression is when the end credits say:

"we are grown up now, can be honest i will remember tightly tied shoe laces, lets make it , my favourite colour, its infinte, i like what ive always liked" this whole phrase reminds me of how anga talks about how he still thinks of the times when he and reki would skate *for fun* together, and not for the thrill/adrenaline rush.

"i like what ive always liked' implied hes always liked reki and despite drifting apart, he still does love him. his love for reki is infinite.(and rekis love for him is infinite)

"lets talk silly stories be with you forever i want to smile by your side" implied that langa (who i assume this verse is in the pov of) still wants to be with reki and regrets the choices hes made. "lets go together, go with you" he still wants to go with reki, he still wants to skate with him.

"even if tomorrow this world ends, i dont need anything special at the same pace as usual lets just be who we are. yes, "now" is so beautiful" so lets disect the first part of that, i think that by this langa or reki (i dont quite know who, i think langa tho) is thinking that all he wants is just go back to all the days (at the same pace as usual) and just go at the nice easy-going pace they were at.

a very big indictor of langa realizing he sitll loves reki is the line "lets go togehter, go with you *not only in happy times*" i think that langa is saying that despite reki being upset and feeling behind, langa does in fact wish he had been by his side and he wants to be there for reki.

"at any time, be by your side", "lets go together", "as long as we have that feeling", "i am here by your side", "you are always in my heart" literally is so gay like guys cmon, langa deifnetley still loves him

so what happens next? langa now realizes he *does* love reki and that adam is a big piece of shit but reki is gone (reki still loves him and thinks about him tho: as seen in line “youre always in my heart” i believe this is said by both of them)

so, in conclusion my favourite theory is that at the very end of sk8 reiki and langa will sort of have individual shots and then they will run into each other in the street, both carying skateboards. langa will reach out to reki to "catch him" or something idk SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN WITH HANDS AND WE WONT SEE FACES AT FIRST and then the shot is their faces and they look at each other and just smile! I THINK IT WOULD BE SUCH A GOOD ENDING AND I THINK IT WOULD FIT THE END SO WELL YA KNOW??? SO yeah!!!! thats my fav theory!!

i do have one more i just wanted to touch up on tho :eyes:

HANDS!!! OMG HANDS R SO IMPORTNAT IN THIS SHOW MY GOSH. and as each episode goes on we can see they are getting closer and closer with their hands. it starts off ith taking off the water bottle, and bandaging each other hands, then the hand shake, the hand shake TO THE CHEST, and then as seen in episode 6, the hug, and finally langa reaching out to save reki and pulling him close. i have a feeling as the episodes go on they are gonna get more "touchy-feeling" and what if langa or reki like touches the others face or brushes hair out their face? like what if,,,,reki forgot his headband or cant find it and he leands over to fix his skateboard or something and langa just brushes the hair out of his eyes? or what if one of them puts their hand on each others cheeks and kisses them? IDK GUYS I HAVE A STRONG FEELING WE ARE GONNA GET A BIT OF ROMANCE- But uh yeah

I have a tone of angsty theories involving adam but i deinfetley think we are going to get a bittersweet ending,,,,

Fifteen minutes and twenty-two seconds. Abed had been lost for fifteen minutes and twenty-two second. Abed’s eyes were trained on the clock hanging on the wall, each tick of the second hand amplified in his head to a piercing shout. Everything was bigger; the lights were blindingly bright and his clothes felt as if they were clawing at his skin. With each passing second Abed became increasingly worried, his breath getting shallower and shallower with each rise of his chest. His eyes returned to the clock on the wall, his stomach jumping at the reading-- sixteen minutes and fourteen seconds.

The study group had promised Abed they’d accompany him to the job fair. They promised they’d be by his side the entire time; Abed didn’t do well alone in large crowds, especially in new environments. He’d gotten distracted by an engineering booth in the corner with a large lego replica of the millennium falcon hanging in the corner. He looked away from his friends for no more than thirteen seconds, but in those thirteen seconds, they disappeared in the sea of students and booths and interns. Thus, leaving Abed completely alone in a mass of strangers in a building that he’d never seen before.

His anxiety had built up with every minute he was lost. It was gradual; he started with the initial panic, followed by frantic searching for familiar faces in the crowd. It wasn’t long after that when his heart rate began to pick up, and within minutes his skin felt as if it was on fire. Abed couldn’t really pinpoint exactly when he’d begun to shuffle backwards out of the large venue the job fair was held in. Before he knew it, he was at the end of a dimly lit hallway, completely alone. He slunk to the floor and pulled his knees to his chest.

They’ll look for me, he thought. They’re probably looking for me now. Abed reached into his pocket for his cellphone before he realized he’d left it with Troy. The emptiness of his pocket felt endless, his hand tingling where the fabric of his shorts met his skin. The familiar whine that Abed let out when he became overwhelmed filled the empty hallway, the tone only making his anxiety worse. He cursed himself for not thinking ahead-- he’d left all of his fidget toys and putty in his messenger bag which he also left with Troy.

It was then that a tiny voice in the back of his head spoke up-- maybe they left, it called. Abed shook his head, but the voice persisted. They left you. They’re gone, and no one is coming for you. A familiar figure materialized in the vast shadows at the other end of the hallway; Evil Abed smirked at him from where he stood.

“They’re gone,” He repeated. “They were waiting for something to draw you away for them so they could slip away,”

“That’s not true.” Abed’s fingers absentmindedly dug into his palm. “They wouldn’t do that-- Troy wouldn’t do that. Jeff and Britta, maybe, but not Troy. Not Annie.” Truthfully, Abed didn’t believe that Jeff or Britta would leave, but he wasn’t thinking clearly in the moment.

“Riddle me this, Abed, who does Troy respect more: you or Jeff? Who does he think is cooler? Who does he idolize more?” Evil Abed’s voice was smug and cruel. It felt as if his words were burrowing through his brain and fogging up his thoughts. “Sure, Troy might tolerate you, but he worships Jeff. If Jeff wanted to leave, then surely Britta and Annie would tag along. It’s inevitable that Troy would join them, isn’t it?” Abed shut his eyes tightly, but that didn’t do much to ward off his evil counterpart.

A film played behind Abed’s eyelids, the poetic irony of his worst fears being portrayed through his favorite thing making his heart ache. There they were: Jeff, Britta, Troy, Annie, all standing in a tight group as Abed wandered off. Their expressions and movements were exaggerated, but Abed didn’t care. He just sat and watched as the scene unfolded.

“God, I can’t believe he roped us into this,” Jeff groaned, his hands gripping his cellphone as if someone were going to take it from him. “What kind of loser can’t go to a damn fair by himself? I could have a hot redhead hanging on my arm at a sports bar and instead I’m babysitting a twenty-five-year-old.”

�� “C’mon Jeff, we’re here for Abed. God knows if he came here alone he’d probably drive everyone here crazy with his “Inspector Spacetime” BS.” Britta chimed in, a tired tone in her voice. Annie looked antsy as always, while Troy looked unsure. Abed wasn’t sure of what, exactly.

Slowly, Abed wandered a few feet away from the group. Jeff’s face lit up the same way it does when he sees an attractive student in the hallways. A borderline cartoon-ish grin grew on his face as he pulled the group tighter.

“Hey, Abed’s gone. Let’s take this window and get the hell out of here while the cat is distracted by the lazer,” He chuckled. Britta smiled and nodded, quickly grabbing Annie’s hand in an attempt to pull her out. The three of them made their way to the exit, leaving Troy alone. He turned around to glance at Abed before rolling his eyes and running after Jeff. Abed was alone.

The image faded away, and to Abed’s surprise, Evil Abed faded away with it. For a split second, Abed was disappointed. He really, really, really didn’t want to be alone-- even if his only companion was an evil version of himself. A minute passes before Abed realizes he was crying, that revelation followed by the realization that his fingernails dug into his palm so hard he broke the skin. His tears blurred his vision and made his surrounding seem much smaller, much darker, much lonelier. His eyes no longer portrayed a dim hallway. Instead, Abed saw the same tiny locker he was locked in so often as a teenager. He could smell the rusted metal of the locker hinges. He could feel the chipped paint rubbing against his skin. He couldn’t breathe. Abed couldn’t breathe-- the entire world was closing in on him. He was cold and alone and no one was coming for him. His friends left him and they weren’t coming back. Everyone who he cares about leaves him, why would they be any different? He watched the world pass by through the tiny slits in the door before his eyes screwed shut again as he choked on air.

He was in agony. His entire body shook and his heart pounded so hard he felt as if it were going to burst. Abed wanted to go home, he wanted to be back at Greendale with Troy and the rest of his friends but he was trapped. His arms began to cramp up from how hard he had tensed, his knuckles a pale white from how tightly he was clenching his fists. He couldn’t move. He couldn’t breathe. He couldn’t speak or sob or scream; he was stuck. Locked away. The outside world faded away as Abed retreated into his mind. He tried to hide away in his head forever until a janitor stumbled upon his frozen shell of a body tomorrow morning. There was an echoing sound, however, that kept drawing him from the abyss of his brain.

Footsteps. He could hear footsteps. Abed couldn’t tell whether or not they were real, but he could guess who’s footsteps they were. They were frantic and uneven-- they had the potential to be rhythmic, but the walker was urgent. Worried. The biggest identifying factor, though, was the quiet sound of plastic aglets on the tile floor; their shoes were untied. Abed smiled weakly as he recalled the fact that Troy almost never had his shoes tied. A glimmer of hope shone through the small slits in the locker door as the footsteps grew closer.

“Abed?” Troy’s voice cut through the silence in the hallway. He turned the corner and froze as his eyes landed on his friend. “Abed? God, there you are! You scared me half to death, and Jeff was already boring me to death with his lame lawyer stories, so now I’m only, like, a fourth away from death!”

Abed didn’t reply. He couldn’t-- he still didn’t know if Troy was real or just another image. He was still locked away, after all. Troy could tell something was wrong; Abed’s eyes had glazed over and he looked like he’d seen a ghost. Troy hurried over, his eyes frantically assessing the situation at hand. He saw the blood on Abed’s palms and his stomach lurched.

“Hey, Abed, are you alright?” Troy asked softly. “Did something happen?” Abed did not reply, instead releasing a small, high-pitched whine. Everything was foggy-- it was all too foggy for Abed to know whether or not he was simply envisioning this angel of a human.

“Alright, uh, I’m going to touch your wrist. Is that alright?” Abed hesitated before nodding ever-so-slightly.

Gently, Troy wrapped his hand around Abed’s wrist. The contact was startling, but not unwelcome. Abed was becoming more and more sure that this Troy was real. The tight locker melted away to reveal the same dark hallway; his anxiety was eased a bit,but he still couldn’t shake the feeling of dread that settled over him. He glanced at the clock once again-- he was alone for thirty-two minutes and forty-seven seconds in total.

“I’m sorry I lost you,” Troy spoke quietly. His voice was comforting and genuine, his face soft and kind. He didn’t match the Troy that Evil Abed created at all. “I know this place is overwhelming, I’m so sorry. We should’ve been more attentive and more careful, this place is like a maze.” Abed soon realized he was too tired to respond verbally, instead opting to hold Troy’s hand. A silent reassurance was exchanged through their intertwined fingers. Abed’s palms stung a bit, but he couldn’t bring himself to do anything about it. He was just so tired. His muscles were sore and his chest ached and his head pounded. He wanted to go home.

“Britta was practically running across the building looking for you, ya know,” Troy said. His hand was still holding Abed’s. “Annie started crying after 10 minutes, and for a second Jeff looked like he was going to cry, too. They were all so worried. I was worried, too. The thought of something bad happening to you was too much to handle.”

“I know you hate being alone, too. I guess you probably thought we ditched you or something. Jeff thought you ditched us, but I knew that wasn’t true. It doesn’t really matter, though, because I’m here now,” That final phrase echoed in Abed’s mind as he sat beside his friend. “I want you to know that I really care about you. I want-- I need you to know that I would never ever ditch you like that. Not in a million billion years, not even for a million dollars,”

They sat there for a few more minutes before Annie turned the corner and shouted, sprinting full speed towards the two men at the end of the hallway. Britta and Jeff followed closely after, a wave of relief washing over their faces. They all gushed about their worries and concerns. Annie was quick to tend to the small indents in Abed’s palm, and Jeff and Britta talked about how freaked they were when they realized Abed disappeared. Jeff mentioned stopping by every directing booth in the entire building to see if Abed had landed there-- he even grabbed a few pamphlets for him to flick through later. Finally, Abed gained the energy to stand up, and he walked down the hallway with his friends beside him and Troy’s fingers still laced with him.

On his way out, Abed glanced at the clock on the wall-- twenty-two minutes and twelve seconds. Abed had been surrounded by his wonderfully chaotic family for the past twenty-two minutes, and he’d never felt more secure.

I like art!! Quite a bit!! Less of a realistic artist and more of a cartoonist!! Idk there's just something fun abt drawing cartoons, hehe. I also like self ships - I have quite a bit of them, actually ! Idk its comforting drawings your fictional crushes loving you idkidk. I like writing too! Both original stories, and one-shots or personal fics that are associated with already created media!! Writing character backstories and personalities and stuff is also fun too! I've even made my own fictional world with a full fledged backstory n everything! It's very fun to think about. I'm a day dreamer!!! Yea remember when I said I write stories? I day dream abt potential stories even more. Mmm daydream world so nice so warm so fun I read aswell!! Mostly fantasy books, or stories where animals are the protagonists. Think Warrior Cats. But my favorite book series has got to be Guardians of Ga'Hoole. Fantasy owl books, anyway! X Readers are also things I enjoy reading :) Again, s I m p Also gaming!!! Is something fun I do sometimes!!! Although it's usually Genshin Impact, or Wii Sports/Resort w// my little sister. Oh, also pokemon! I rlly like Primarina, Vaporeon, Sylveon and Vulpix/Ninetails! I absolutely adore sweet foods, and baking is smthn I'm def interested in! Don't like foods w// weird textures though, like beans or mashed potatoes. Also I. Love spice so much. Mmm love it when my mouth burns so bad. Don't have a favorite animal but I've had three cats in my lifetime (btw not important but my current cat is named Sylvester and. He's my baby boy) so I am. ok ok ok so the refs from today. im just talking as perap does so feel free to ignore this

- it was kind of like a test to see how i could balance out quality with quantity. my canvas size has bumped up in resolution since the post from last year and im finally coloring line art, hallelujah. (i cant believe it took me so long to start doing that my old stuff was SO washed out with just black line art)

- tbh i did most of the extras (alt outfits etc) bc i thought it would be fun. and it was! well, the line art was. the coloring... oh god, what a drag. its so boring. so much procrastination... but im glad i finally got it out and just a little over a year after the first ones.

- so ya i said galar was like 90% done and NOW its like 200% done, and with that being said

- "yOu DiDnT dO tWiLiGhT wInGs ExClUsIvE oUtFiTs OR ThE cOrViKnIgHt TaXi DrIvEr" and my response is: when does it end, susan? MAYBE i will end up doing them. but it took me two months along with all that art i posted earlier this month and im tired. im not doing them today, not tomorrow, not for a while. galar is DONE i want to move on

- so the take away from the test is. i am not doing that again. JDGFG. the alt outfits and designs (basically the entirety of part 3)... i wont be including those in ref batch posts from now on. it was a lot. when i draw extras like that, ill just do it whenever. im not making them priority like i did with the posts from today.

- tbh i MIGHT aim to get gen 7 done this year. i can try it. i ACTUALLY have a few sketches done already so theres hope.

ok so now for comments on specific things

- firstly, tumblrs image limit forces me to put multiples on the same canvas, which i finally decided to take advantage of and have a few interactions that i wouldnt have done if i could just post them all individually so i think thats neat. adds some substance i think.

- again mustard isnt urshifu bc i couldnt choose which one he wouldve been. tho ngl hyde wouldve been cute as a kubfu

- ik honey has a team but i didnt like any of them for her so its free real estate

- yes klara and avery are the ONLY ones with gloves and dynamax bands. shhh i know. i know.

- nia was also kinda free real estate bc her only known pokemon is tyrantrum and. i didnt like that. i also didnt like galarian meowth for her either. so tbh i did it to match her earrings, but also i dont have ANY pikachu girls as of yet and i wanted to fix that (i say that as i already posted a pikagirl a few weeks ago HDHDGS)

- sighs. sordward and shielbert... i NEEDED a reason to justify their stupid hair ok i DONT care about anything else. i THINK it makes them better. maybe. probably not. and also i copy and pasted them despite trying to not be lazy with my art bc i just fucking hate them i dont care.

- the macro cosmos employees were actually inspired by this made by flare-gamer-64! its the reason i didnt go with aggron for peony. and at first i thought mawile for one of my designs would turn out weird but i actually think its fine now

- glorias mom is glaceon bc free real estate clause. and i just threw in hops and leons mom bc why not.

ginhiji hospital au??

I needed to get this off of my brain and I can’t draw or write so here it goes... Ginhiji but Hijikata is a nurse working in a hospital and Gintoki is the new resident who comes off as lazy but is actually a really good doctor (which surprises our boy Toushi)

More thoughts under the cut? (I have more thoughts about hijikata because.... i have more experience there LOL)

I’ve been a working nurse for more than half a year now so I kind of know what I’m talking about? (but not really because i’m definitely still a baby nurse that’s still learning OTL) but really im a baby don’t ask me specifics

I got into Gintama super late and I have so many regrets because it’s taken over my life.

hijikata working in either medsurg, ICU, or emergency because it’s not slow, needs great time management skills and working under pressure /but i have a bias for medsurg because that’s where i am right now... but i feel like he would definitely be the same kind of intense that some ICU nurses i know are...

he’s definitely the type to not take a proper break at work... would probably eat saltines from the nutrition room

reason 1: he’s too busy

reason 2: hates to go on break if he has to leave hella shit for the person covering him (so he give all his meds, clean his patients, give pain meds...make sure they NEVER call the person covering him on break) but that also means when things don’t calm down he feels like there’s never an opening for one

meanwhile he will give meds, clean patients, and do everything for whoever he covers for break

when this happens kondo sends yamazaki to cover him for breaks because you can’t tell patients to eat their food when you haven’t eaten toushi

is really good at putting in IVs, nobody on the unit even tries to put them in when he’s working they’ll just ask him to do it for them

a charting superuser lol

his brain... impeccable. a work of art. a pinnacle of organization. made his own because the hospital issued one doesn’t work for him

probably looks something like this

note: allows you do just quickly circle things during shift change instead of writing it all down...i would probably make past medical history section bigger though (do i use a sheet like this? no because i am... organized chaos and writing it down helps ME--but toushi probably wants to take as little time possible writing shit down)

reads his work e-mail, even the newsletters from the hospital

kondo is nurse manager and is a very supportive one (the potlucks!!! tries his best to make sure everyone feels supported at work ; w ;) hired hijikata..

when hijikata is charge, the work is distributed evenly thank god

also “it’s an hour until shift change and if this patient doesn’t come up in 10 minutes they’re not coming until after shift change”

everyone asks him for help because he knows all the hospital policies

what nurse isn’t frustrated with doctors lets be real

exhibit A: “my patient is in TEARS with 10/10 pain and the doctors have the audacity to ask if THEY TRIED TO DISTRACT THEMSELVES WITH ART?” (this is a literal conversation I’ve had with a resident before)

hates talking to interns because he ends up having to teach them how to do their job

hates talking to jaded attendings

only attending he likes is shouyo

used to have long hair in nursing school but cut it after his ponytail got into some shit during a bed bath

still smokes.. kondo hates it because we’ve all seen what it’s done to our patients and you still smoke?

has tried to quit but never works out

gintoki also gets on his case about it

just imagine hijikata in those black figs joggers scrubs UGH

in this universe they’re called digs because copyright and this is still gintama we’re talking about

these scrubs are unnecessarily expensive so he didn’t actually buy them himself ( “why the fuck would i buy expensive scrubs if i am going to get literal shit on it”).. if left to his own devices he will wear those ugly ass hospital issued scrubs

Kondo and his other friends split the price for the black joggers and a 3 pocket scrub top -- because we all know hijikata puts ALL his supplies in his pockets. he NEEDS pockets

Gintoki thinks his ass looks good in those joggers UGH

Hijikata won’t admit it but the digs are his favorite pair they are so comfortable. still won’t buy them with his own money though

student nurses are scared of him because he’s intense and asks hard questions, really strict... doesn’t bully but pushes students and orientees really hard

but also any one who can survive being trained by him becomes an excellent nurse

that nurse that’s on top of their shit and THINKS instead of just following orders

“saw his potassium is high. can we do something about that?”

“there wasn’t continuous oxygen monitoring ordered but i put them on because it doesn’t look good. can we get an order for that”

all the doctors trust him because he’s just so goOD

gets on gintoki’s case about looking like a bum at the hospital all the time

if he EVER catches wind of doctors talking down to his nurses or older nurses bullying the newer ones (which never really happens because kondo is a great manager who fosters a very nontoxic work culture) they will...FEEL. HIS. WRATH.

also will not tolerate patients treating him (or his coworkers) like shit. will be more professional dealing with patients tho than with the MDs. but if it’s an MD berating a nurse, they better be ready to get their ass KICKED

Gintoki is the new resident along with katsura and takasugi in.... internal medicine? surgery? idk?

i mostly just wanted write this one: hijikata has a patient in a pain crisis 10/10 pain, given all available pain meds, tried everything possible but still no relief. paged the new resident working with this patient

hijikata fully expects either a call saying “sorry i can’t order any more pain medicine for this patient” or just another IV medicine ordered with no communication at all

(this has actually happened and me and all my coworkers were SO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED)

hijikata once sent gintoki a message asking if he wanted to lower the dose for a medication because the lab for it was high

gintoki thought he was the pharmacist because hijikata is just that good

likes the sound of hijikata’s voice on the phone so he always returns his pages even if it’s just to say “ok i’ll put the order in”

secretly gets excited when he sees hijikata’s name on the chart under the care team

actually learns a lot from hijikata

gets to know hijikata’s bad break habits and gives him a coffee whenever he notices he’s working (but is absolutely disgusted when he brings out the mayonnaise)

on particularly hard (emotionally, physically, mentally) days the other would show up with a bag of food and drinks?

when the two start dating, it’s usually just... hanging out at work?

if somehow by some miracle, they get their breaks together (if at all) they eat together

if they do have days off together they usually spend it sleeping (literally you guys) or relaxing at one of their apartments

sleep deprived healthcare workers lead to many....petty...arguments but they make up by the end

Izuki

Why I like them: izuki’s just overall so amazing! he inspires me to give my best in the stuff i do, and although it sounds a bit silly i try to be a person that he’d be proud of. his puns are hilarious and well-thought-out (as a person who loves words and word jokes, i’m naturally drawn to him lol). they’re also a way to take the heat off the team, he’s so hardworking and never views obstacles as obstacles, rather as hills he must climb to find newer skies. he’s also rather clever and employs his brains to great effect when his body fails him! izuki embodies the meaning of ‘eagle’ in the truest sense - waiting to strike when the time is right and not failing when it is.

Why I don’t: *sweats* can’t really think of a reason i don’t like izuki, at all??? i guess he can overwork himself a lot and tends to keep his true emotions hidden which could lead to misunderstandings between friends (although this is totally headcanon territory lol)... i also didn’t like the ableist comment he passed on hayama (“i’m just glad you weren’t smarter than me”). but i think he can (and will!) grow from that kind of stuff, he is that kind of person so yeah no particular reason for me to dislike him at all

Favorite episode (scene if movie): how dare you make me pick s3 e8 izuki vs kasamatsu, hands down. i know its like cliche or whatever but that moment just told me so much about izuki as a character? he’s willing to do what it takes to win, he’s adaptable and dependable and he doesn’t let shit get him down ever. it’s gorgeous

Favorite season/movie: s3, he got some fantastic moments in there!! although i will say i loved the spotlighting he got in s1 in the seihō match

Favorite line: “Fear isn't a bad thing. There are some things that can only be done by cowards.” this is first of all such a nice thing to say. ‘fear is not bad’ is just... so fucking wise? keep in mind that this boy is 17, i’ve met 30 year olds who are less mature. secondly it feels like izu’s speaking from experience?? like he has a lot to be scared of, i’m sure. particularly of falling behind and being a burden to his teammates. but it’s that ‘cowardice’ that drives him to practice so so hard. that visceral terror of weighing on seirin is what pushes izuki beyond his limits - which is why here he can empathise with furi’s fear, and knows how best to employ it.

Favorite outfit: look i hate last game w/ a passion but that lil tie/shirt/hoodie thing he had going? that was literally so cute. izuki in general has a p great fashion sense but his last game outfit takes the cake <3

OTP: hyuuizu oh my god i could talk for years about them but since this post is gonna be very long i’ll refrain. just. they are perfect they are fucking perfect

Brotp: kiyoizu!! kiyoshi is izuki’s biggest enabler and i love that for him <3

Head Canon: izuki can be very very passive aggressive when he’s angry at someone/sad and gets cold and withdrawn. it’s not fun to experience but tbh if you upset him you probably deserve it

Unpopular opinion: izuki should’ve been naturally better in canon. it’s not fair to shaft him and give the ‘trier’ thing off to himuro. that being said i am p happy with who he is as a person

A wish: i want to know how izuki felt after middle school! izuki’s and riko’s backstory focuses so much on hyuuga its dumb >:( he also would’ve been demoralised but he didn’t quit bball and i would like to know his thought process!

An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: i. uh. i guess izu quitting basketball. because i genuinely cannot see that happening. it brings him so much joy, he should never stop cold turkey. i can imagine old man izuki hobbling about a court giving little kids pointers and making them laugh T-T

Kiyoshi

Why I like them: lots of reasons! kiyoshi is an admirable person. he’s strong, yet friendly and gentle, and he loves his team above all else, which i just find beautiful. i find his manipulative side also pretty cool, bc it shows off how multifaceted he is.

Why I don’t: this is more of a fandom reason but i really dislike how kiyoshi is always said to have had the greatest impact in hyuuga’s story. he badgered and manipulated hyuuga, and while some may argue hyuuga needed that push, it only worked bc hyuuga had had time to think about shit. he’d also been given space by riko and izuki (two integral parts of his life whom the fandom looooves to sideline for uwu kiyo//hyuu).

Favorite episode (scene if movie): yousen match (can’t pick the episodes)! i loved the backstory we got for kiyo vs mura and i loved how kiyoshi was willing to smile and play but also refused to lose. he truly stole the show despite kagami being the one to finally take down murasakibara, it was gorgeous <3

Favorite season/movie: s2 for sure. kiyoshi wasn’t allowed to shine much after yousen imo - all the focus was on hyuuga kagami and kuroko, and to a lesser extent izuki. not complaining, but yeah

Favorite line: “Let’s go have some fun.” i know it’s kinda cliche but i do love how kiyoshi’s always thinking about playing a good game and enjoying basketball. he wants to play because he loves it and as someone who loves a sport as much as kiyoshi loves b-ball, that love is so poignant and tender

Favorite outfit: practice clothes! kiyoshi looks great in pink <3

Head Canon: kiyoshi is half-iranian on his mother’s side and is muslim. i won’t say too much because i am not muslim myself, i need to do more research into this but i’ve had this headcanon for quite a while now!

Unpopular opinion: he should be bullied more for the fact that his canon power is having yaoi hands

A wish: kiyo finds something he loves as much as b-ball. he can’t canonically play at this level again, so if he found another sport/competition/anything, it’d be amazing

An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: he should never become demoralised. kiyoshi at heart is a dreamer, so let him dream, let him look towards tomorrow with a smile always

Why I like them: im a lesbian, next. /j i love her because she’s so tenacious and driven. yet she’s also kind and gentle, and never loses her humanity. she cares, and she cares hard. she’s so fucking smart too like... coaching a hs basketball team at 17 against players of NBA calibre and making them win? i could never. seirin without riko is nothing.

Why I don’t: i dont like the constant slapstick of her beating up her boys. also, i dislike how the narrative forces her to act ‘feminine’ and then has the boys think of it as nothing. like first of all if someone like her offered me a kiss i would so take 100, and secondly... why is a girl’s worth so tied to her femininity? it’s awful

Favorite episode (scene if movie): her sending in furi vs kaijō, early in s3. it was an exceedingly smart move that could have only come from her knowing her players’ strengths and weaknesses intimately, and being a brilliant coach. just amazing <3

Favorite season/movie: all of them! riko has some amazing moments each season, so i can’t really pick

Favorite line: “Humans grow. Don't act like you understand when you don't even realize that!” here, riko knows and knows well that she is in her element. momoi might have the data, but riko understands adaptability and knows how to predict stuff. in that way, one can draw parallels between takao vs izuki and momoi vs riko: takao and momoi are recon experts, whereas riko and izuki are strategists. momoi uses raw data; riko manipulates the data to her advantage

Favorite outfit: idk if this is exactly an outfit but her glasses are so cute oh my gosh. (i’d kill to see her in a leather jacket tho)

OTP: rikomomo!!! i’m 100% sure that momoi’s fixation w/riko’s boobs is just... repressed lesbian sentiments. also sports girlfriends gimme

Why I don’t: he’s perverted as hell and i dislike that. it plays into the ‘brutish dark-skinned pervert’ stereotype which is yikes. also i thought we were done with pervs in anime

Favorite episode (scene if movie): s2 seirin v touou when kagami enters the zone!! aomine’s finally happy and it’s so amazing to watch <3

Favorite season/movie: s2, he finally got happiness and peace of mind

Favorite line: “You’re the best!” there’s just so much of pure joy in this line. he’s so so beside himself that he finally has someone he won’t destroy. kagami sees aomine the person, and that person is so happy, it’s beautiful

Favorite outfit: the leather jacket from the finale lmaooo he looked so cute
