Sokka getting his ass beaten by the Kyoshi Warriors so bad that the Misogyny Spirit left him. An important point of his character development. Also Suki is badass.

Zuko venting to an unconscious Aang during a snowstorm at the North Pole, then trying to fight Katara when she found them and immediately losing the "rematch" lmaoo (Bro you're lame but we love you that way)

Sokka's haiku battle. It was really cool. I love when he's smart (it doesn't make it less dumb tho lmaooo)

The 2 entire Boiling Rock episodes. Because Zukka material, because Suki is badass, because Father-Son Reunion, because Mai is cool too, because Azula's shocked reaction, because running away from the highest prison of the Fire Nation is fucking awesome.

Any of Toph's legendary retorts/insults. Literally couldn't choose one, they're all priceless.

Part 2C: Leo

Intro:

Y'all I am sorry. I forgot I was posting the character analysis. I don’t even remember when I last posted a part (2 weeks ago?? Three???)

Just as a reminder/disclaimer while reading, the page numbers seen below may not line up with a physical copy of the books since I got them based on my digital copies. It may feel a bit essay-like, so sorry in advance for that it helps me be more precise with my words. And for obvious reasons everything below this paragraph contains spoilers to Heroes of Olympus books. If you haven’t read part 1 you can here: part 1  part 2  part 3

Leo is one character who even in his own chapters doesn’t say anything about Reyna and they don’t really interact.

What is available about their relationship is through others points of view. In House of Hades Percy says, “She might be treating them like allies rather than enemies, but Percy could tell Reyna still had a not-so-soft spot for Leo, probably because he’d blown up half the Forum in New Rome” (page 415). Following this statement of what can easily be described as general dislike, there isn’t anything that shows how their relationship continues until The Trials of Apollo. In this series, by the time The Burning Maze starts Leo is heading to Camp Jupiter to warn them of an apparent incoming attack. After doing so, Leo seems to include Reyna in the short list of people who are okay after the attack when talking to Piper, Apollo and Meg (The Burning Maze page 270). In this section there isn’t much that shows what their relationship is like except for that it's very possible that at the very least Leo cares about her general well being. The biggest show of what their relationship is like or what it has become is at the end of The Tower of Nero. On page 283, Reyna refers to Leo as her brother, but other than these quotes there isn’t anything to show how or why their relationship has become what it is. It would be safe to assume they must have interacted outside what is written between Leo arriving at Camp Jupiter with a message and Reyna calling Leo her brother that led to that final outcome. 

Whether or not what happened is realistic for the characters is hard to figure out based solely on interactions between them because of how little there is of the two of them written and without analyzing the writing of the books and both characters-especially without bringing personal opinions into the decision.

Do you guys notice how when Shawn Fain, president of the United Auto Workers union, started planning a general strike, he did it by a) targeting his messaging towards unions with the ability to safely and effectively strike in large numbers, b) laid out a clear, actionable plan for those unions to follow (setting contracts to all expire at the same time, since many unions cannot strike while under contract), c) is using union contracts to set clear, actionable demands that can be met in order to gauge success and provide an end goal, and d) started organizing FOUR YEARS before the proposed strike date to give people the chance to plan accordingly, because it takes a really freaking long time to get tens of millions of people organized?

You notice how he didn't do it by slapping a message on Twitter saying 'hey nobody go to work on Monday, that'll really show 'em'?

#those 'monday is a general strike stay home if you can!!!' posts are SO performative and they really annoy me #like. you MUST know you can't organize a general strike of tens of millions of people by sharing an infographic on twitter. Right? #don't even get me started on the most recent one that was like 'we understand the last strike only gave one day of notice' #'so this time we're giving you two! strike is on tuesday everyone don't forget!' #like GENUINELY was that supposed to be a joke #the linked article also touches on how difficult actual organizing a workplace is which is nice #because they mention previous failed attempts in which organizers basically just handed out leaflets #and assumed the benefits would be obvious. which i think is basically the equivalent of posting an infographic on twitter #which is to say - not effective at all.
