Hi, yes, can i interest you in part 2 of the thing? Figured i may as well spend my time on the bus doing SOMETHING.

Sorry idk how to add readmores anymore, especially on mobile

Content warnings: animal death (deer), implied vore, sfw vore, safe vore, fear play(?)

When they wake, the first thing they notice, is that they're sticky. Uncomfortably sticky. Dried leaves and dirt stick to them in scratchy clumps that they barely have the strength to swipe from their face as they sit up.

It's early morning, the sky still dark, but the air crisp, and the crickets calm in the dew soaked grass. It's ... peaceful

The second thing they notice, is a burnt smell. They look towards the fire, brain fuzzy and struggling to remember what had happened. A handful of logs still burned, weak flames licking over charred wood as they scrabbled for life - over them hung the pot they had been cooking stew in. Their stomach growls and tightens painfully, reminding them they were hungry, and they begrudgingly get to their feet to stumble forward to inspect what might be left.

The stew had devolved into a thick sludge, the water having mostly evaporated and the meat dried into a former husk of itself. They stir it, the potatoes falling apart to become part of the sludge - and their mind strays to unpleasant thoughts. They wonder if that's what it's like to be digested, to fall apart and become an unrecognizeable sludge, forgotten and used to fuel something else much larger than themself.

Their heart skips a beat as they remember -why- they're sticky. They remember the giant, his fangs framing their view, the cavernous depths of his throat...They remember the feeling of being swallowed, of laying in that dark, heated chamber awaiting the worst...

The spoon drops back into the pot noisily and they realize they had been staring at nothing for a minute. They shake the thoughts from their mind and reach into the cooling 'stew' to fish out a piece of dried meat. It's not great, but, they needed something, and they needed it now. They pretended it was the blandest jerky in the world and managed to swallow the scratchy chunk.

"You're eating that?" Comes a disgusted voice from behind them, making them freeze.

"It's not bad." They lie casually, not turning to face him. "Better than airline food." Not that either of them knew what airline food was.

There's a skeptical pause. "If you say so..." He doesn't believe them.

Frustration spikes through them suddenly as they look down into that pot at the saddest stew on the planet. "I just...really wanted this." They sigh, unable to hide their disappointment. "No point wasting it..."

Another pause as they shuffle around for another chunk of meat that may as well have been dry grass. "I don't know much about humans, but I know just smelling that is making me sick...."

They ignore him and shove another chunk into their mouth.

There's a disgusted sound before a shadow falls over them and they are being pried away from the pot.

"Don't eat that" the giant chastises as he settles back onto his knees and plops them down in front of him. "Making me regret letting you go. Almost feel like it would have been a *mercy* to eat you if you're just gonna eat...whatever that is and die anyway."

They wince, unable to look up at him still. They're confused and scared, but most of all, they're upset. The stew would have been perfect if he'd just let them eat it earlier.

"What else am I gonna eat? If you'd just let me eat it earlier, if you'd just -" They find themselves snapping before mentally kicking themselves and putting their head in their hands. They're tired, their body aches, and most of all, they're hungry. "I was really looking forward to it..." they say, deflating. They bite their lip to keep from crying...God, imagine, crying over burnt soup...stupid. They could have died, they still could, and yet, all they could focus on was SOUP.

The giant sits silently stunned a moment, not expecting this reaction from his prey. Normally, people in this position were terrified of returning to their former occupation of 'food'. They should be thanking him, they should be running away, they should be...a lot of things.

Still, he notes the crack in their voice, the defeated posture, and he remembers his own frustration when he had missed meals....

Humans. Pathetic.

He sighs and gets to his feet. "Stay here." He rumbles, annoyed before vanishing into the trees, leaving only crickets and stillness.

They wait for him to return for a time, uncertain of how he'd react if he found them eating from the pot after telling them not to. Would he kill them? Would he eat them again? They mull over the possibilities far too long before their hunger wins out. They eat a few more chunks of those disappointing meat cubes while he's away. They're unsatisfying, and tough to swallow, but it's something to take the edge off their hunger. They spend the time alone collecting thoughts, collecting questions. They wonder if they'll have the courage to ask them when he returns. They wonder if they should even voice them... They wonder alot of things.

A low vibration runs through their bones after some time, soundless and deceptively light, and a moment later, the giant appears from the brush once more. There's a buck in his grasp and a roundness to his belly that wasn't there previously.

"Here." He tosses the carcass onto the ground near them, causing them to scramble back in fear of it falling on top of them. "That should be more than enough, right?"

They eye the buck, then tilt their gaze to the man as he settles cross-legged nearby. Their brows furrow as even more questions fill their head.

"Thank? You?" They say tilting their head, feeling uncertain.

"Your welcome." He says plainly, looking judgementally at the pot of burnt stew until they were certain he knew of their 'crime' and was going to punish them for it. He never says a word.

They spend the next hour and a half processing the body, they'd spend even longer fleshing and preparing the hide later, but for now, they simply butchered it and seperated the parts. Once they'd cleaned the pot out in a creek nearby, they filled it and set the salted meat water to boil. They may not have any more potatoes, or much more than spices to put into this, but meat soup would work just fine. What they didn't put in the soup, they would smoke later as jerky.

They settle across the fire from the giant as they wait for the stew to finish. He'd closed his eyes at some point, but they knew he was still awake. They wondered how to breech the topic they wished to discuss... Eventually they decide, fuck it, just ask. They doubted he was going to eat them again - at least for today, not after he had hunted food for them.

"Why did you let me go?" They ask more meekly than they liked.

He doesn't respond right away, he doesn't even hint that he had heard them. They wonder if he dozed off... He takes a deep breath through his nose and exhales slowly.

"You were giving me a stomach ache." He shrugs out.

They furrow their brow and look away from him, unclear how they feel about that statement. On the one hand, they lived, on the other hand, did that make them so disgusting they were inedible? Their brain buzzes in self deprecation, but they focus on the fur in their hands, and a follow up comes to them.

"And...the deer?" They ask, looking up.

A long pause, a frown. "Couldn't stand your whining."

A lie. They think it's a lie anyway. They don't know why he'd lie about that, but it's a comfort, and they'll take it.

He rubs his stomach and their eyes catch on the movement. Did his stomach look like that when they were in it? What had he eaten to fill it now? Who? Were they in pain? Something stirs in them, dark and distressing. They look away and tuck those feelings in a box, never to open again, they hope.

They focus on scraping the fat from the fur for a moment, content to lose themselves in their work. They had more questions, but, they could wait.

After about ten minutes, they feel like they're being watched. They look up to see those silver eyes on them, watching them, the giants brows furrowed as he mulled over something.

"Why are you here?" He asks, finally. "Like, of all the places in this land, why come back to a place you knew you could die?"

They feel their face redden, though they aren't sure why. "I didn't know where else to go..."

"You have a home, don't ya?" He asks, raising a brow. "A place in that town a few miles to the west..."

They open their mouth to answer - then close it and look away. "It's gone."

He blinks and boggles at this. He opens his mouth to ask for clarification, but he's cut off by the answer.

"I was out of town for a few days," they press their thumb into their palm nervously. "And when I got back...it was destroyed."

He tilts his head, thinking, remembering something. "Is that what that was...?" He murmurs aloud.

"What?" They ask.

He debates answering them, but, eh, why not. "A month ago I smelled a group of monsters in the woods. A lot of them. Like, more than 10." He does a swirl with his finger. "Scents get too hard to follow at a certain point, but I know it was a lot. They seemed in a hurry to get somewhere. I -uh" he pauses, suddenly uncomfortable. "I didn't feel like I asking them about it."

They tilt their head again. "And you think they did it? But why?"

An exasperated sigh. "I don't know! I just told you, I didn't ask."

A pause, they look away. "Sorry."

"For what?" He asks, sinking back against the tree and crossing his arms.

They don't know how to respond.

"Annnyway" he continues, looking away and changing the subject. "So, you return and your first thought is "'Ah yes, lets go to the woods with that man eating giant. Getting eaten seems like a great idea!'" He snorts.

"I was...scared..."

"Of what?" He scoffs baffled by this human. "Because it's clearly not of me." A tinge of frustration tarnishes his tone.

There's a long awkward pause as they decide how to answer. "I'm unfamiliar with the world outside of that town and these woods." Green eyes focus back on the giant. "This was the only other place I felt comfortable being - even if a grumpy jackass made it his home." They grin, hoping he takes it for the playful jab it was meant as.

He blinks - not understanding.

"Besides, i thought, maybe it'd be nice to-"

They cut themselves off and look away, bashful and unwilling to say their second reason.

"Nice to what?" He prods, curious.

Their throat tightens and they work the flesh in their hands, focusing on the cold greasey feeling and the softness of the contrasting fur.

"To see you again." They murmur so low they hope the giant doesn't hear.

The giants ears twitch and he goes through an array of expressions, doubt, thought, confusion, more thought, disgust - it settles on confused. "You *wanted* me to eat you?" He asks, disturbed.

It's their turn to splutter disbelief. "N-no!" They correct, eyes wide. "No! I just. It's just - I've never seen anything like you before, and you hinted at there being more things like you - or maybe not like you at all. You hinted at there being More and I just..." their articulating flustered gestures with their hands "I wanted to learn more..."

He blinks blankly at them. "But I told you-"

They roll their eyes, exasperated with their feelings on this matter. "I know! I just...kind of hoped...you wouldn't..."

Another series of blinks. "So you just hoped...I'd find you and...- what?... Be friends or some shit?"

They feel their face redden and they can't look at him, "I know it's stupid, but..."

He stares at them blankly a moment before he can't hold his disbelief any longer and belts out laughing. "You've got to be either the dumbest or the -boldest- human I ever saw."

They grin sheepishly but don't look up. "Boldness and stupidity often go hand in hand..." they say more to themselves.

He wipes at a tear in his eye, struggling to speak as the laughter comes and goes. Eventually, it peters away and, after a few deep breaths - "You're prey." He says simply, amused crooked grin on his face. "That's all you'll ever be to me. Prey."

They frown down at the pelt in their hands, a sadness eating at them.

"Buuut-" he breathes out as he stands and stretches, the weight in his middle shifting in an uncomfortable looking way as his shirt pulls up over it. "If you really have nowhere else to go - I suppose you can stay here. I wouldn't stay out in the open if I were you though." A pause, a pointed and hungry look "Afterall, this is still my territory - and as long as you stay here - I will hunt you."

They tense and slouch in on themselves, their heart twisting in a painful way, dejected and shattered. They can't speak, they know if they try, they'll just start to cry, so they say nothing.

"Enjoy your soup." The giant huffs, readjusting his shirt over his middle. "You know the rules. Next time..." he snickers grimly, "Well, you know"

They sit hunched for sometime, even after he leaves, something inside broken and painful to swallow. Morning birds begin their songs, squirrels rattle the branches above, and as the sun breaks the horizon, a dam breaks and they begin to sob into the fur clutched in their hands.

idk how to put a readmore on mobile so i cant hide my splatoon rambling this time sorry

so the splatoonjp twitter posted this pic showing some stuff for lockers thats getting added next update and first and foremost: C-SIDE POSTER!!!!!!!! i hope and pray they add more splatband posters but im not holding my breath

this locker in particular is notable to me for a few reasons. it has a squid sisters sticker, which hopefully means we'll get more inkopolis-based locker items. theres also a sticker of just the Deco logo, which is interesting. the 2 posters on the top of the locker can also be seen in cooler heads, as i highlighted in another post

and i could be wrong, but im pretty sure the little red dudes on the locker appear as a mascot in one of the videos that plays on the animated billboards in the plaza. which would make sense, as the same could be said of monkey crab, who has multiple locker cosmetics

Seven Points to Success(™️) beneath the readmore

hi :) i have no idea how to tumblr :))

in all honesty, i started posting bc i wanted this as a sort of archive for all the shit i write. i have a habit of deleting docs i don’t like and eventually wishing i didn’t so i could read them, so i figured what better motivator to write and encouragement that no, this isn’t shit, then the internet?

i guess that’s my first point: don’t write for anybody but yourself. write what you want, and then post it in case somebody else likes it. otherwise, you’ll probably end up losing motivation and getting burnt out. write what you want, and don’t be embarrassed to do so.

two: as with any fanfic, get to know the characters! please! the last thing you want is for readers to be flung out of a story because somebody was out of character. the genshin wiki is a goldmine!! the voice lies can give you an idea as to how a character speaks, and their story will let you in on, well, their story.

uhhh three: grammar. this isn’t pointed at you specifically, just genuinely… please refresh yourself on grammar rules. fics could have an excellent premise, but it’s not gonna be read if everything is a run on, with multiple speakers per paragraph.

what not to do:

“isn’t the sunset pretty?” kazuha said his hand brushing yours. “it is”, you agreed leaning into his shoulder. “i knew you’d like it” he smiled.

^ don’t do that. don’t. paragraph changes every time someone new speaks, and commas go before the quote.

in addition, try reading out your dialogue (out loud or in your head doesn’t matter) to check it sounds real, and like it’s in that characters ‘voice.’ kinda goes hand in hand with point 2.

(minor point: while some grammar rules can be bent or a bit fudged—such as my entirely writing in lowercase and excessive use of commas—there are lines that cannot be crossed. that sounds serious but all it means is that some fundamentals need to be followed.)

point 3.5: use a readmore. please. do it. if you’re on mobile, click an empty line, type ‘:readmore:’, then hit enter. idk how to do it on desktop but please. do it. everybody will thank you. i will personally thank you. just type out a title, summary, maybe a paragraph of the fic to get readers hooked, then a readmore. makes everybody happy, and it’s easier to navigate your blog that way.

point four: practice! please please please practice. you will get better with time. trust me. i am sitting you down, handing you a warm drink, and asking you to promise to keep writing. just do it. it’s gonna be bad sometimes. it’s gonna make you cringe when you look back on it. whatever. keep. writing.

obviously don’t burn yourself out, but if you’ve got an idea, open up a doc and start writing. what starts as an idea put to page tends to spiral into fics for me, but even if it doesn’t for you, you have started. you have done the hardest part. you can keep going, i promise, you can always rewrite what you don’t like.

take it from me: i start every fic as a short blurb outlining the idea, and always have to redo the introduction for tumblr to neaten it into something presentable. it doesn’t matter if it isn’t perfect, it just has to work.

if you don’t like your sentence structures, vary the length of your sentences. short. long. semicolons, m dashes, paragraphs in parentheses, it doesn’t matter. if you don’t like your word choices, pop open a thesaurus and find a different word. do not do this for every single word ever, obviously, but if you’re using the same word over and over, it might be better to have some synonyms in mind. additionally, they can make the emotional points stronger—i.e. ‘cried’ vs ‘sobbed’—or emphasize the point you want to make more—like ‘hissed’ vs ‘seethed’.

the point above does not apply to ‘said’. ‘said’ is not dead. obviously use dialogue tags, but also use ‘said’. everybody who says ‘said is dead’ is a liar and a fraud. it is okay to use ‘said’. ‘said’ ‘say’ and ‘says’ are our beloveds.

(minor point: i use apostrophes as quotations as a stylistic choice, but you never use these in technical, grammatically correct writing. “he said ‘purposeful,’ so it wasn’t an accident.” <- that is not a grammatically correct line of dialogue, but it’s how i would stylize it. this is just to let you know that i am not grammatically correct—after all, i type entirely in lowercase because i think it looks better, so…)

point five: tag things! but don’t over tag them. tag whats relevant, tag whats important, and nothing else. i don’t know how to draw the line here bc it can get blurry, but try reading a fanfic and then looking to see what was tagged if this is confusing. tag whats relevant so people can find things, and leave out stuff unrelated so others can scroll through that tag in peace.

(minor point: tag warnings if your piece contains triggering topics. i’ve seen varying opinions as to how obvious these warnings should be, but at the very least some form of tag about it is courteous, in my opinion)

(minor point 2: if you write ‘x reader’s—you didn’t specify, but you asked me for advice, so—then please, please, pretty please, mark your readers gender. it’s ok if you solely write fem! reader, but please just say so. nobody wants to enter a fic only to get hit with the she/her without warning. i didn’t do this for a while because i solely write for a gn reader w/ you/yours pronouns, but i know better now. tag your readers. write what you want, just make sure others can find it too)

point 6: organize. do it. i know it can be annoying but pls. a masterlist saves lives. mine isn’t the best example but hey, it works.

in the same vein, have a navigation post pinned, with stuff like rules, whether requests are open, a link to the masterlist, and whatever else you deem important. again, mine isn’t the best example, but it works. this way, people can easily find your works, and return to where they were if you write a series/ a lot in general.

point seven: take everything i just said with a grain of salt, no matter how small. i am just one guy. i don’t know everything. i don’t even know what i do know. you think i know how i have almost a thousand followers? no. i just write about boys i find pretty and put them online for the internet to read. maybe you write best by solely writing for the community. maybe you work completely off any sort of schedule. i don’t know. i’m not you.

you are you. you know you best. take breaks, take care of yourself, and just go for it. i promise, the worst that can happen is that nothing happens. you’ll be okay. you can do it.

You can finally do readmores on mobile which means I am unstoppable. Atsv spoilers below I am sharing my thoughts

1. EVERYONE SAY THANK YOU TO THE RIGGERS COMPOSITING ARTISTS VFX ARTISTS ETC. THE ANIMATORS DID AN AMAZING JOB OFC BUT THE TECHNICAL WORK ON THIS FILM IS UNBELIEVABLE

2. I knew I was gonna love hobie but I adore hobie. I love how I knew from minute one this guy knew what was up and was out to shake things up. I'm so excited to see more of him in the next one

3. SPEAKING OF. I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU GAVE ME HALF A MOVIE SONY. This is not an actual complaint I understand why this was done this way but man give me some WARNING THAT I'M GONNA LEAVE WITH IT ALL UNRESOLVED

4. I love pavitr I love spiderbyte I love all the new spideys so much. Most importantly I LOVE THAT GWEN GOT SO MUCH TIME DEDICATED TO HER. IT'S WHAT SHE DESERVES

5. I really really enjoy the setup of miles being framed as a force of chaos especially compared to a lot of much more put together spider people and having miguel as a foil because he's all about control!! The first part of the film builds up to the reveal so well that I was ready for it in a good way it felt right for him and right for the narrative. Miles' thing in itsv has always been about carving your own narrative and your own way of doing things so it's cool that atsv expands on and really doubles down on it

6. Atsv said cops are always gonna be cops first and good cops quit! I don't think their handling was perfect but I appreciate that much at least

7. God the movement. The visuals. The everything. I want to print this film out frame by frame and wallpaper my house with it

8. When are we gonna find out who the little lady with the heart glasses is huh. I feel like she's kept appearing but there's no actual explanation as to who she is. I'm watching that!

9. I have to include a negative. I really hated the live action inclusions. They felt really jarring and just like something to appease the mcu fans which is not what I'm looking for in these films. Just kind of unnecessary and didn't really add anything imo

10. All! The callbacks!! To itsv!!! Fuck man idk if it's just me being someone who's seen that film 50+ times but there were so many little things I was going nuts. Like obviously there were some really big ones but the ones that were subtle visual callbacks specifically had me leaving this mortal plane. The one sticking in my brain rn is miles taking the glass with him when he jumps again but also the being tied to the punching bag and the running upside down over the crossing at his school and the pigeons and

11. The spot is suuuuch a good villain for miles. He's not supposed to be there.... he initially doesn't seem all that important. And he's a chaotic villain for miles the chaotic hero, I love that

12. The anti establishment narrative. Chef kiss. Yes. Question the rules!! Who says this has to be the way!! Pavitr's "I can do both" hobie's "know what you're fighting against"!! Yelling screaming

13. I can't believe I got to 13 of these but also yes I can. Bro the fuckin queer allegories ae you kidding. The not being able to tell your parents the "finding others like you who understand" it feels so obvious but I have to say it anyway

I feel like I'm gonna have more to say as my brian keeps chewing and I'm DEFINITELY going to go watch again asap but in summary AAAAAAAAA

my general thoughts during black adam 2022 tht swirled in my mind like a flushing toilet. in no order

writers room and maybe mr johnson himself actually ironed out geoff’s adam origin and made him nicer because he literally murdered his nephew in that one. this works tho for what they were going for so okieee . will we get adam choking out the shazam kids in movie 2 LOL the rock would never agree to tht. wat happened to the anti in antihero mister…

kinda moe they made atom smasher n adam have bestie potential like in jsa lol.

gushing about adrianna and amon. amon AND HIS LIDDOL SKATEBOARD !!!!!! they were so so real even more so than their roles in 52 and I appreciate the writers sm for that. esp the role of khandaqi citizens later in the movie like ya fuck imperialism

it genuinely felt like a shift of two movies going back and forth between khandaq and hawkmans cruiser which I guess u could say makes it immersive

the entire jsa dynamic was so so good simply bc the chars were so fleshed out even in the small lines al and maxine (I LOVE U MAXINEEEE!!!) had they felt like heroes who’d worked together for so long. like it was easy breezy n if u compare that to the billion of quips and tension jl in the movie had like. it’s kind of wild. centering dc movieverse on jsa was not on my bingo. JAIME REYES BLUE BEETLE JSA MOMENT?

ROCK OF FINALITY ? let me ruminate on that.

shook w laughter every time somebody in the movie went “but WHO could defeat black adam” “only one person could defeat sabbac” “you’re so stacked even more so than any hero on earth adam” elephant in the room in the form of the literal shazam family with an upcoming movie:🧍

LIKE WTF. every time someone makes adam stronger while completely ignoring that billy is his equal nay his better. no matter what I think abt dceu’s shazam it’s still literally soooo embarrassing they think they can separate adam completely when HES GOT A DAMN LIGHTNING BOLT ON HIS CHEST. this movie just makes me angrier abt it bc they showed the shazam 2 trailer before it and god how incompetent and idiotic does shazam look in comparison to adam it’s literally so embarrassing ? can darla dudley beat adam’s ass. you know she can. be for fuckin real

I feel like audiences will just like it and I guess its an interesting reset for the movies

Interlude (AO3)

Crow/Young Wolf

Based on the sacred text that is Hawkmoon lore.

Sitting around the fire, they drink and they laugh.

There's a bottle of whiskey between them, half-empty, as the Young Wolf tells him some story he heard about old Earth. It probably ain't true, he says, but Crow ends up believing every fanciful word he says anyways.

James reaches for the bottle, and Crow lets him take it, shocked by the cold touch of his ungloved fingers when their hands briefly brush. It's not unlike the cold sting of the Void, but Crow thinks it's almost comforting, like ice on a sore bruise.

If James notices his reaction, he doesn't say anything. Crow's eyes are drawn to his throat as he takes a long swig of whiskey, and he feels the sudden urge to touch him.

James looks at him, and Crow wants to kiss him. He meets the Wolf's eyes and they're glimmering with mischief, and before his brain really registers what's happening, he's leaning in.

James meets him halfway, a soft, contented noise rumbling in his throat as their lips meet. His mouth tastes like liquor and Crow drinks him in, combing his fingers through dark hair when James pushes back eagerly. The Wolf tugs at his lip with his teeth and he moans, and for a moment he swears he can feel his wicked grin against his lips.

Crow gasps, his head spinning as he tips it back, allowing James to nip and kiss at his throat. A cool, wiry hand holds his jaw, and Crow whimpers, and it's all a little too much–

"Are you alright?" the Wolf asks, a little breathy. He's looking at Crow with kind brown eyes, eyes that he feels like he can trust.

"Yes. I just…" he looks away, realisation only now dawning on him. "I haven't… had anyone like this. At least, that I remember."

He takes the whiskey bottle from James again, taking a drink. He grimaces at the bitter bite of it, his head buzzing and nerves calmed.

James' lips quirk into a smile, but it's not judging, or mocking. Fond, endeared, if anything. He stays in Crow's space, and all Crow wants is to taste him again.

"Can I kiss you again? I'll be gentle, this time," he grins, and for a moment he really does resemble a Wolf, firelight catching on sharp white teeth.

"Yes. Please," Crow breathes, cursing the needy sound of his voice before his worries are washed away by the brush of the man's lips once more.

It is softer this time, and Crow's eyes flutter shut, savouring the exploring slide of a tongue against his own, the light scratch of James' stubble on his skin. His heart beats, and he feels like he's found something he was missing; he feels alive.

James kisses him like he matters, like he's worth loving, and briefly, Crow wonders if he's ever had someone treat him so kind– in this life, or the last.

Before he knows it, he's pulling the Wolf closer, drawing a sigh from him as his fingers tangle into his hair, while his other hand wraps around his waist. The sounds he makes urge Crow on, and he moves his lips to James' jaw in a moment of boldness. He can feel the man's rapid pulse against his lips as he places wet kisses along his throat.

And Crow only then realises how much he had been leaning on James, when the man loses balance and they both topple over, both of them yelping in surprise.

Crow finds himself laying mostly on top of him, arms on either side of his head in the dirt. The world spins around him, and for a moment he fears he might be a little too drunk. The Wolf laughs after the shock wears off, reaching a hand up and brushing the hair out of Crow's face. Crow can't help smiling down at him, appreciating the new angle of this beautiful man.

"Can I kiss you again? You don't have to be gentle this time," Crow asks softly, a mischievous smile on his face.

"Yeah, please," the Wolf breathes, and Crow wastes no time in capturing his lips again, delighted by the soft sigh it earns him.

He remembers the Wolf's arms wrapping around his waist as he kisses him, deeper this time, harder. He runs his hand down the front of James' armour, suddenly wanting to feel him and lamenting all the layers in his way. In return, he feels a knee push between his thighs, and he moans against James' mouth at the small amount of friction.

It all feels so good, Crow thinks. Maybe it's the whiskey, but he feels like his happiest moment that he remembers is right here, kissing and touching the Wolf. He feels like he could die his final death and he would be happy.

Things become a blur after that, but he remembers James laughing, the sound melodic and sweet, as he wraps his cloak and his arms around Crow. He remembers grinning, his lips pressed into soft black curls, as the Wolf buries his nose into the crook of his neck.

And at some point, they fall asleep like that – wrapped around each other, comfortable and content, despite the hard earth beneath them.

some tips for writing blogs, especially those who are just starting out. these are some things that works for me and may or may not work for others.

how to add a read more link on mobile

type :readmore: on a free space, then hit the enter or return button

personally i think they’re very helpful because it lessens the space you take up in your dash, and might encourage more people to rb

+ you can also add this on a spot where it gives a sort of cliffhanger, essentially making people want to ‘read more’

headers, banners, and dividers

though not necessary, it’s good to have a title for your work. make sure it’s bold and doesn’t blend in with your notes (aka pairing, warnings, etc.). this also helps when someone wants to look up one of your works in your search bar

i don’t really make banners or covers for my works. but some good apps that i know of would be picsart and canva. if you’re looking for ideas, i definitely recommend going into canva

wondering how to make those really small, thin dividers? you can make them using picsart! to make a divider hit tools > free crop > brush > size (adjust it to your preference > then draw a line along the edge of your photo > save

using the divider you just saved, go back to picsart and edit it again > draw option > hit rainbow square at the bottom left corner > hit suction/droplet symbol right below the check mark > color in the white spots bc for some reason picsart glitches and makes dividers look white-ish

new blog? just opened an account?

this is gonna sound really frustrating. but... tumblr needs to check if you’re a bot or not. what does this mean? it’s likely that your first few posts won’t show up on the search bar. you may not even get to edit your header/pfp yet ://

this happened to me and there was no visibility on my account at ALL. what helped me get ‘verified’ is that i followed a LOT of accounts, liked a bunch of posts, made some posts here and there. now that lets tumblr know you’re not a bot

visibility

the tumblr tagging system usually only allows the first 5 tags in your post to show up. so, what can do you about this? only use FIVE or less tags in your post. wait about 15 minutes or more until you can add some more tags in your post, and they usually all show up like that

another important thing about using tags is not to generalize! especially if you’re using a popular tag. but also don’t specify it too much where barely anyone looks it up. for example, if you’re writing a gn piece about oikawa, i recommend you use the tags such as: oikawa x reader, haikyuu x reader, oikawa x gn!reader, haikyuu headcanons, etc

a good rule of thumb is to use character x reader tags first, then leave the full name or fandom tag last

FOR NSFW: tumblr doesn’t let any tags with nsfw show up. so, give your nsfw works another tag. maybe #namegetspicy idk, you figure it out

FOR WARNINGS: especially if you’re a dark content creator, i highly encourage you to add tw:xyz tags. if you already have a warning note at the top then that’s great. but even better for readers who prefer to actually block these tags that way they never get to see it

another important thing to note is that people have different timezones. it helps if you rb your work at a different time of the day, in case people missed it! (icymi) i’ve noticed that reblogging helps to make your post show up in the tags

interaction + feedback

first and foremost, you are not obligated to write for your followers, and neither are your followers obligated to interact with you. remember that everyone has their own individual lives, and they have their own things to do— so do you, too.

make friends! become mutuals with other writers, visit their ask box. i know it can be daunting having to initiate these things, but you might just turn out to have fun! you can’t expect people to interact with you if you’re not interacting (back). it’s... kind of a two way thing yk? no need to be afraid to interact with other writers. oh, and rb other writers works!

pspsps join tag games or do ask games. it’s fun and very interactive

it never hurts to ask for feedback. i usually do this in a more subtle way because i don’t really expect a full on analysis on my works. maybe a little, is this okay? or feedback appreciated. sometimes it takes a little bit of coaxing for the silent readers

formatting your posts and blog

i generally put in the title at the top in big, bold letters

then comes the header/divider. helps to make the post more... visually appealing ig?

it’s important to add warnings (if any) and the pairing. the audience is not all female, and it might be a little frustrating for male readers having to find out its an x fem reader piece like halfway through your fic

if you have multiple works posted, it’s really really helpful to have a navigation page!

you can organize the posts you make with tags! for example, if you’re shitposting, you can use a specific tag for that. if you have a nsfw related post (ESPECIALLY when your blog is open to the general audience) please make a tag for it

themes + colors

if you have a color in mind but don’t know which direction to go from there, i recommend looking up color + aesthetic

looking to use the same color? download a name color app that’ll give you a hex code for any color you want to use. then, you can type in that hex code for when you’re choosing a color for your tumblr bio

wondering how to make your header image small like mine? just choose a photo for your header and turn off the stretch image option

want to use a different text color that tumblr doesn’t offer? it’s not as complicated as you think. you’ll have to go on a desktop to do this and do some html (but trust me, it’s not very difficult). look up “HTML noob but trying my best - how to use colored text on desktop”

^^ i don’t have the link for the color text tutorial so you can try looking it up

how to make an aesthetic navi and masterlist

step 1: decide a theme! if you’re stuck, think about a character + color/season/mood or look up “[insert] aesthetic” to find some inspiration. or you can try looking at other blogs too

step 2: find a color scheme! it’s easier if you choose fewer colors. if you want to use the same color for both divider and text, download a color name app in order to get the hex code of that color.

step 3: add categories to your navi! most navigation pages include a link to masterlist, about/byi, and rules. your navi should have a title that indicates that it’s... a navigation page. you can add thin colored dividers with the same color to make it easier for followers to navigate

step 4: you can choose to create a ‘cover’ or a picture for your navigation and masterlist! again, i recommend you use the canva app as a starting point

extra: search up emoticon symbols to spice up your titles!

reminder for you as a writer

you’re not obligated to do any of these things. i’ve noticed that we tend to build pressure on ourselves when it comes to content and interaction. remember, this !! is !! for !! fun !! when you realize that it’s no longer fun, then know that it’s time to take a break. and there’s nothing wrong with a bit of self care.

blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most):

is it any question... Vergil, man of all time 😔🆘🆘 if you listen to bury the light on 24hr repeat for like 2 months straight, you contract vergil blorbo disease </3 but so! vergil! speedrun lore, vergil is the son of ✨ Sparda ✨, a demon who split the human and demon worlds in two after a Very Long Time of demons hunting humans for sport 😳;;. Vergil's also the twin brother of Dante, the series' leading protagonist! ^^ anyhow, at some point after the two were born, Sparda disappears and from what I can tell, they're just raised by their human mom, Eva? In any case, since the two have The Blood of Sparda™, the demons that slip through into the human world want them Dead. Thus, when they're like 8 or 9, the demons descend upon their house and light it aflame, killing Eva and presumably Dante in the process. Vergil's the only survivor, and girl............... we need not discuss the psychological impact of this 😳🆘 After this, Vergil adopts this ideology that power is the most important thing, and his pursuit of power sends him on a very tragic path. 😔 to make a long story short, he basically shows up in the 3rd game because he's trying to open the gate between the human + demon worlds, which he succeeds at in spite Dante's efforts to stop him. Immediately after getting to hell he gets curbstomped by the king of hell </3, stripped of his will, and turned into the guy's little demon minion for like a decade. :( He then shows up in the 1st game as a Mysterious Enemy that you fight a few times on your journey to stop the aforementioned king of hell, and it's only towards the very end that it's revealed the really cool very strong mysterious guy is in fact... YOUR BROTHER :( But what can ye do except curbstomp his ass, since he's still in the throes of the king of hell 😔 So curbstomp him you do, and he basically gets mario washing machine'd to god knows where, where he takes Continual Losses. at this point, he's come back into his own consciousness and psyche, and he's like 😐😡 but also he's dying 🥺 Despite this, he is haunted by the many losses he's been dealt at his brother's hand and resolves to do one final thing before he dies: Kill Dante ⚔ ...... unable to do this in his current dying form, he goes back to his childhood home and uses his fucked up demon sword to split himself into two- the human and the demon. The plot of the fifth game all stems from his human side realizing What the Fuck He's Done, not just right now but in general, and he's like ohhhh dear.. girlies we gotta fix this 😳;;

hmm what else about vergil... oh yes he has a book of William Blake's poetry that he got shortly before everything went to hell as a child, and he like.. carved?? drew?? his initial into it because, despite vergil being the Evil Twin in the games, dante was THEE evil twin when they were younger... dante the instigator the brawler the manipulator.. tbh i'm obsessed with it. Anyhow, despite all the madness and mania he goes through throughout his life, he's somehow kept that book the entire time and his human side is Always Cryptically Quoting It :')

so. yes that is blorbo,,, the parasite that haunts my brain so...

scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped):

Nero!!!! :D nero is vergil's mystery son, and the protagonist of the fourth game! 😁😁 He grew up as an orphan on an isolated island called Fortuna, where they actually worship Sparda in a cult-like manner 😳 Before I go off the deep end, I just must quickly say.. nero literally is SO SHAPED. DMC4 came out in like 2008/9 and my sister and I are in agreement that if I'd played as Nero as a kid, i would be a trans guy today. it is uncontested.. his design is SO fucking gender

but so nero! In canon nobody knows where the fuck Nero came from, much less that he has any connection to Sparda. he was raised in an orphanage before being taken in by the super cool parents of Credo and Kyrie (who took him in because he has the ✨ Same Silver Hair as Sparda ✨😮 but.. it's fine @w@;;). At some point they die, and so then it's just Nero, Credo, and Kyrie- the three must be incredibly tight because Nero looks up to Credo and joined the Order of the Sword, which is Fortuna's like.. demon-hunting church military/police kind of organization?? you know how it goes 😀😀😀;; Anyhow, Nero joins them because of his deep respect for Credo. And then Kyrie.. they end up dating which cannaur lie makes me uncomfortable given their upbringing but we pretend we do not see it 😳

set-up aside! Nero's game is basically about how The Pope™ wants to lure out Dante in an attempt to absorb him into the core of like.. a marble Sparda-shaped evangelion basically 🙈 Nero is really just a henchman following Credo's orders until it is revealed that he too, somehow, has demonic power... then things begin to shift, and the pope and co. are basically luring Nero into the belly of the beast by kidnapping Kyrie, so on and so forth 🤪🥴 They succeed in this and Nero's unwillingly drawn in as the aformentioned Sparda eva's power source, so the game then switches to Dante POV and you have to take it down! It finishes out with Dante beating the shit out of it but not really being able to stop it, so then you have to take it, and the Pope, down from the inside as Nero......... it's a whole thing 🙈

anyhow.. nero is truly scrunkly man, like the above description to a T. DMC4 was very rushed and suffered many things, but they still managed to put a ton of work into Nero's animation and expressions. he does a lot of small things with his face in the cutscenes that are 🥺🌋🌋 That, combined with the fucking insane voice acting of Johnny Young Bosch, makes Nero a really 🥺🤲🏼 *holds him* character for me <3

scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave):

literally banging on my chest like a gorilla because CREDO, MAN..... i say vergil is the man of all time, but credo is like.. the MAN of ALL TIME 🥺🥺🥺 In the overall scope of the franchise, Credo is a Minor character- he only shows up in one game, you only fight him once, etc etc. but dude holy fuck credo lives in my MIND.... let me explain his white man sauce...

so, as I loosely explained above, Credo is the older brother of Kyrie and their parents took in Nero when he was young before they died under mysterious circumstances. WELL... the circumstances are not so mysterious to credo.. I mentioned before that Credo was in the Order of the Sword- expanding on this, he was also in some type of high position at a young-ish age? Which means he was privy to the truth behind his parents' death, which is that they participated in a ritual to imbue them with the power of demons and fucking died :(

this is classified information, so Credo never gets to tell his little sister the truth of what happened to their parents. so not only is he dealing with this truth, but Also. without his parents, he has to raise Kyrie (and nero????) all on his own 🥺 he does a stellar job with this because Kyrie is basically widely regarded as a fucking saint- for me this would be impressive on its own, but! He also manages to be such a fucking chad that everyone is Fortuna loves him- this combined with his insane fighting skills nets him the position of supreme general of the order, which imo is the second-in-command after the pope

Knowing the plot of the fourth game, this is incredibly heeeeehee 😳😨😱 Credo enacts the pope's will because he believes in the false vision of the future that the pope's been spouting forever, yk how it is with cults... However, he throws all that aside when he learns the pope has gone behind his back and pulled Kyrie, who is his sister but Also a Civilian 😡, into everything... in the end, his defense of Kyrie costs him his fucking life and it's 🥺🥴🥺🥺🥺🥺😔😐🥺😭😭😭😭 why!!!! </3

oh my fucking god I forgot to mention that. while he's still under the pope's will he has the SICKEST boss fight as a demon (bc surprise he undergoes the same ritual that his parents did, and he survived!!! there isn't enough time or space in 4's narrative to dwell on this, but I Dwell On It 👁👁🥺)

so yes in conclusion... credo 🥴😍🥰🥰🥰❣❣❣

glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week):

Lucia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 lucia my fucking beloved aouuuuuugh!!!!!!!! Luna I know I've rambled so much but you are about to HEAR IT.. i cannot think of lucia or i will go insane!

SO. Lucia. Lucia is the second protagonist of the ill-fated Devil May Cry 2. the original DMC was directed by Hideki Kamiya, mr. bayonetta himself, and I'm not sure if the next part happened because his + the team's work on the original DMC was super promising pre-release or because DMC was met with such acclaim after its release, BUT. development on the second game began incredibly quickly, some people say before the original even shipped. In any case, Kamiya had no idea it existed until the original DMC was being localized into English. this is the second game's point of inception, right?

Development was. challenged. like super super fucking challenged. Accordingly, despite months (?) of development, the only concrete thing the team had was the animation for one attack. Capcom was disappointed in this and removed the sequel's original director, who has never been named and in my opinion is in witness protection. 😀;;; Then, they brought Hideaki Itsuno on as the director and basically gave him 4-5 months to make a game out of nothing. I think this is incredibly fucked up and they should have delayed the game, but some people say that Capcom needed to use/cash in on an expiring contract with the brand Diesel and that's why there was no expanded dev time.

SO. i don’t know how, but Itsuno somehow makes the game. Given the circumstances, it is rough and nobody really likes it and it is widely regarded as the Genuine black sheep of the franchise- 4 was rushed and had some issues but that is all a speck of dust compared to how troubled 2 was. :( Outside of some side material, the contents of 2 have yet to see the light of day.

this is why Lucia is the obscure fave </3 It breaks my heart because Lucia is such a good character. In short, she's basically an artificial demon created alongside many others by this CEO kind of guy in his pursuit of power etc etc. Unlike the other artificial demons, she's defective (I think because she had her own sense of will?) and so, she's basically thrown out to the trash. She gets taken in by this elderly woman who's basically the last demon hunter on this one island, Vie de Marli. The woman raises Lucia to carry on the torch, and Lucia is a very very human character as a result of this. (although, i think in being raised like this, she's also brought up to disregard her own life in the service of her people? it's been a while since i played 2 so i don't really remember, but I'll come back to this in a moment)

Anyhow, the plot of 2 basically follows Dante, who was called to the island by the aforementioned old lady, on his quest to thwart the CEO’s attempts to open the gates of Hell through this ritual, or something like that... To do so, the CEO has to collect these artifacts, and while Dante is the main one working against this guy, Lucia is in the background trying to collect the artifacts before the CEO can so that he can't do the ritual. As she's doing this, the CEO guy confronts her and is like "ohhh it's you! :o you're no devil hunter lol you're a literal devil! i made you!! and it's only a matter of time until your programming faults and you begin killing the humans you've been trying so hard to protect hehe >:3c"

This like. really fucks up Lucia and she has a whole existential crisis shutdown about it while Dante is fighting the guy. I don’t remember it well, but I think the guy succeeds in opening that portal to Hell + unleashes a fucked up demon that Dante has to go after. In any case, Lucia stops him and is like "You'll be stuck there and the world needs you but I'm expendable so let me do it" or something like that, which... 🥺🥺 I'm describing it very loosely here bc I have terrible memory but frfr that was such a heartbreaking moment and Also the precise moment I was like ok. i will kill and die for lucia okokok <3

I forget what Dante says to her but it's some lifechanging shit and she's like oh!!! 😮 i have self-worth now!! So she steps aside and lets him go into the portal. While he's gone, this fucked up version of the CEO guy returns and is Berating Her Yet Again :( but this time, she's able to stand on her own to fight (and beat 😚) this guy proper.

Her character arc roughly ends there, which is. the worst because she has SO much potential. Lucia is someone who was raised as a human, raised to love her fellow humans. I feel like you could really do something with the revelation that she's Not a Human, and even moreso!! there's tension and suspense from the line where she was told that some day, she'll break and turn on her fellow man!! like what!!! 🥺🥺🥺🥺

but alas. That's basically the last we ever see of Lucia and I'm not sure how likely it is we'll ever see her again. :( She got a little section in the expository book for DMC5, but no mention in the actual game itself... if/when she does, know that i will be ripping my shirt off and banging my chest like a fucking gorilla!!!!!!! she's my girl!! 🥺🥺

ummm also very very quick honorable mention here for the Lady in Red, who is an NPC given a few seconds of screentime during the opening cutscene for Vergil's game mode in DMC4. She's just a random Fortunan with her face hidden beneath a hood, but she's the only one that notices Vergil walking through the crowd. It's implied and widely believed that she's Nero's mom, but she's never given importance beyond those few seconds in the cutscene so 🤪🤪🤪 Anyhow, the Lady in Red gets honorable mention here because the very existence of Nero drove me insane. I couldn't wrap my mind around Dante, part of Kiryu's swag virgin club, or Vergil, who imo is too laser-focused on power to have time for relations of any kind, having a kid. more than that, I couldn't imagine what kind of woman would be able to fall in step with them long enough to have a kid??? And then I spoiled myself on Who Nero's Father Is, and felt even more insane because your honor i truly cannot see vergil ever taking interest in someone In That Way. so the thought fermented in my mind, who WAS this woman??? what did she do to catch his attention??? and the more i thought about this, as a Joke, the more it began to seriously haunt me. Before I knew it, I'd gone and pulled a sergio again, making a whole ass character to bridge the gaps and expand on the spaces left in between the narrative 🤪😳;

anyhow. that's gioia. the lady in red gets to stay here despite gioia because i fucking lose it over any breadcrumbs we get about her. XD there first time I watched my sister play through DMC5, before I was familiar w the ins and outs of the franchise + didn't realize Nero was an orphan, there's a part where he phones home after learning Vergil's his dad + I was ready to pop bottles bc I thought he was calling his mom.................... naur... 🙈🙈🙈 in the same way as Lucia, I doubt we’ll see much, if anything, about Thee lady in red </3

So, you recall how during Vergil's section I mentioned he split himself in two, right? well, the human part of him is named V and holy shit holy fucking shit is this guy a poor little meow meow. holy shit. not in the evil sense, he is just Going Through It </3 The thing with Vergil splitting himself into two is that like,, all of his essence, his strength ig? went into his demonic side. V inherited Vergil's conscience and memory in the divorce, and that's It. V himself is kind of odd in that he's the human portion of vergil, but he's not.. human? per se? Not a concrete human anyways, so he's running off a very limited reserve of juice to keep himself going in the regular sense, but also in an existential sense. And the further the game goes on, the less he has to work with. 🥺🥺

V is also the meow meow of all time because he really is so fucking human oh my god. :') He reads Vergil's book of poetry and knows it so intimately that he can casually whip out lines to comment on the situations he finds himself in. Vergil's clothes go into the void of existence with him when he splits himself, so iirc V fr just walks around naked until he mugs a guy and takes his clothes- rings and belts and necklaces and fun strappy sandals included. He's hesitant to eat a burger because he doesn't want to deal with how messy it is, but then he just. eats a demon raw. (and then he eats it cooked on like skewers BUT. this is only AFTER he just fucking eats the raw meat. this haunts me to this DAY)

Also a huge portion of V's character that I forgot to mention is that he has demon familiars who're essentially formed from Vergil's memories of his coworkers when he was a puppet for the king of hell..... One of these familiars is named Griffon, and he's the only one that talks out loud. Griffon bullies V so much and V just takes it bc they're besties. :') it's meow meow behavior your honor. OH one final thing, when you’re fighting as him, he’ll call out commands for the familiars + one of his commands literally sounds identical to CGI Ganondorf saying “die”. it HAUNTS me 😭😭😭😭😭

another meow meow-type character for me is Kat from the DmC reboot! We Do Not Talk about the DmC reboot because it is godforsaken, goatforsaken, the list goes on. It's a badly-written insult to the franchise. HOWEVER, Kat is cool :') I won't explain everything that goes on w Kat bc then I'd have to explain the reboot and that's more effort than it's worth. </3 but Kat is worth explanation. 🥰 so!! she's essentially Vergil's right hand lass, and also his girlfriend?? maybe? but that's basically irrelevant. Anyhow, the two of them have been working together for god knows how long trying to overthrow the surveillance state the demons have mankind under. Kat is a medium, so she's able to exist in Limbo, which is the space between the human and demon worlds? or maybe where they overlap??? I dunno tbh 😳 but anyhow, Kat is able to traverse Limbo while her physical body gets left in the real world, and she uses this ability to be the smartest, most effective, most efficient person in the whole game. There is one point where she gets taken hostage and the king of hell is trying to use her to convince Vergil, who's an unknown variable in this universe, to bring him Dante, public enemy #1. While he’s beating the shit outta her and doing god knows what else (which is 🥺👿 because the game casually drops that she was assaulted, iirc sexually, as a child) to her, she slips into Limbo and basically scouts out the place where she’s being held hostage. Then, she concocts this entire plan, iirc all by herself!, to topple the demon’s power. The reveal that she was doing all of this blew my fucking socks off- when you first see her in this portion of the game, it's in a video where she's super out of it and I was Very Concerned about what she was going through.. meanwhile miss thing is out here masterminding her captor’s downfall... legend behavior. So yeah! of the reboot's cast, Kat is my favorite character 😚 but the reboot is wildly unpopular and held in similar regard to DMC2, with the exception that it's set in a different universe and thus even Easier To Ignore than DMC2. so i think that makes her an unpopular fave and thus a good fit for the meow meow category ^^

so I would say Dante because dante is like. the most batshit normie guy ever. like... Confirmed the strongest guy in the whole series, has taken down every Ted, Jim, and Sue from the demon world that's tried to grab for power... but also. Dante lives off of pizza, his favorite drink is tomato juice, and he loves strawberry milkshakes. he never has money because his besties are always running him dry </3 for at least a little while, he gets bossed around by his own version of the Ace Attorney Weird Little Girl. in every single game he gets impaled with a sword, and when nobody did it in 5, he did it to himself. Dante is easily the most tormentable character in the entire franchise, but ALSO.. he is the Most Tormented :( so I don't know if I could torment him, he's been through enough!!! 😭

so if I can't torment dante, then Nero it is. >3 a bit of context here- every time I see a city you can kiiind of explore in a game, ie Val Royeaux in Dragon Age: Inquisition, I get a hardcore itch to explore + play in it the same way you play through Kamurocho/Sotenbori in Yakuza. WELL... girl lemme tell you this itch is so fucking strong for Fortuna man!!! it's such a pretty city and you really don't get to see a lot of it! :( so for a long time now I have been juggling a Yakuza-esque spinoff game for Nero where you have to do a bunch of sidequests for the people of Fortuna.. in my mind all of them are as headscratch-worthy and bewildering as Yakuza's sidequests. however, Nero is a lot more affectable than Kiryu is, so I think he would be tormented by them a lot more than Kiryu would be. 🥴 it is my dream to get into the dmc board room and pitch this game one day 😤😤😤😤

THE POPE, RIGHT >( I would say sanctus is the most bitchass character in the entire franchise, if only because he took Credo away from us 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 BUT. sanctus has a lot of pussy power. he poisoned the previous pope for two years straight so he could take his job and then he strung Literally Everyone along while he was planning world domination for two entire decades. he's the worst but I'm kind of obsessed with him </3

my vote goes to DmC Vergil. ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh i HATE DmC Vergil he is genuinely the fucking worst 🤬⚔ I think they started off with a good idea for his character, the son that got away, a mystery variable in a heavily-surveiled state. If I were in that position, with the bass boosted powers that Vergil gets from his parents (plural... his and Dante's mom is an angel in the reboot... girl 😐), I Too would build my own secret little organization to topple the demons in power. BUT. That's like the end of Vergil's good writing. Throughout the game, he's always in the back, always the one depending on Dante to do things for him. What was he doing before his group found Dante? They dangle the idea of him having sauce right before your very eyes, because they take a moment to establish that he still has his fuckt up crazy sword Yamato (which he pronounces as if it rhymes with tomato...) in this universe as well, which means he COULD be doing things. But no!! there's literally a mission where you have to come defend his ass while he's trying to back up servers or whatever. as if the original Vergil would ever need to be defended. There's another part in the game where you're trading Kat off for the king of hell's... lover? who is pregnant with his child? In any case, it is a very high stakes high tension moment in which neither party can really afford for things to go wrong....... so vergil decides to snipe the pregnant lady out! 😱🤯🤯 for literally No Reason!!!!!! and it endangers Kat and everything goes haywire and hsdhfjfjhgs...... the entire time I was like, you did this for what!! iirc correctly, he is Hardly Useful in the ending fight against the king of hell, whereas the original Vergil in a similar fight was instrumental to winning the battle.... like, girl!!! where is your sauce? what's going on!

it gets worse though... after Dante defeats the king of hell, there's a beat, right. the guy is dead, his surveillance state's been dismantled... damn, there's finally room to breathe! to hope! and then Vergil, who has made Dante do all the legwork, is like "Dante, the path is clear for us to rule over the humans now ^_^". When Dante is justifiably like what the fuck, they get into an argument about humans being fine/not fine on their own and Dante Correctly brings up that it would've been impossible for the two of them to achieve anything without Kat (who is in the bg watching this unfold like 👁_👁😨), and vergil essentially handwaves her!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬 this is the point where I went from begrudingly tolerating Vergil to really disliking his character 🙈 you fucked with the wrong kat stan !!!1! 😆

but then!! the worst part! as if what he'd already done wasn't enough! his boss fight begins, right. Vergil's boss fight. vergil. who has been useless and non-combative the whole game. HIS boss fight starts AND SOMEHOW??? HE HAS SAUCE?! INSANE SAUCE? that really cemented it for me. He'd had these abilities the whole time, you know! he never had a big coming of power moment, so he was just sitting on all these abilities The Whole Time! and it just bugged me- Vergil, in any instance, keeping a low profile is a rational thing. but the original vergil still took the time to have sauce and do batshit stuff like ricocheting the yamato off of walls and catching it at the last second, so on and so forth. With this newer Vergil, they nerf him only until he Has To be the final boss. I've rewritten this a few times and I still don't think I'm capturing what I'm really trying to say, but. god. I know they're two separate characters and you shouldn't compare them, but the reboot's Vergil just feels so incredibly disrespectful towards the original. and since vergil is The blorbo of dmc for me, this is a crime punishable by death /j

OH my god i forgot to mention. they gave him his own DLC where you get to play as him, right? they initially won me back over because they had him limping around and clutching where dante fucking stabbed him to death (i call it the garrett thief effect 🙈), BUT THEN.. the story of the DLC was just. so edgy and grrr Vergil fights his inner demons and he kills the ghosts of Kat, Dante, his mother, everyone who left him and haunts him grrrr... but it felt too disconnected from the Vergil we'd seen in the main game for it to be a cohesive addition imo.

dear god I cannot believe I went off about the reboot Vergil for this long,,,, I am so sorry </3 I tried to forget him but I guess he still vexes me deeply 🙈🙈🙈 in conclusion, DmC Vergil has been sentenced to an eternity in superhell for crimes against DMC Vergil and also because he is kin with the Elon Musk who Also had a fedora and katana. grrr
