The strange hikizuri siblings - uhh okay. Not scary nothing even happened. Okay a guy was a jealous simp, little kids are just like that, some guy threw up bread dough ig, then a ghost stared at everyone for a while and dipped the end

The story of the mysterious tunnel - Jesus Christ that was pretty spooky what the hell. Lost my marbles when he assumed the drop was water, and the kid in the ceiling fucked me up with her voice (dub) and screams

Ice cream bus - im never eating ice cream again. Jokingly compared the driver to William afton fnaf in the beginning but he was somehow worse. The dad pushing the kid away jumpscared me, then horrified me, and I needed a break from the show

Hanging balloon - so absurd it was kinda funny. The nonlinear storytelling added a bit if spook as I slowly realized who was at the window but idk the concept was just funny to me. Also I was so happy someone finally showed up to a horror plot strapped until I saw the result. Sorry random Chad with a crossbow, wish you coulda helped…

Four x four walls - thought something horrific would happen outside and he wouldn’t hear it but it didn’t, thought soichi was famous for being scary but he wasnt, I think this was like a comic relief in episode form. No spook, kinda funny

I was thinking about how the proportions of human anatomy change as you age and how a toddler with such short limbs and a thick torso could fit inside an adult but uh… then they answered my question. The bully - I was sooo ready for retribution, then I got reconciliation and got even happier, then it turned into child abuse and I wanted to kill a bitch

Headless statue - Jesus fuck that’s gross. Stop it. Also smash the statues again it worked brilliantly earlier. Or maybe jump out a window idk

Whispering woman - mega based. The nervous girl gains support and confidence, the attendant is freed from her abusive friend, the abusive friend gets violently killed, its just wins all around

Soichi’s beloved pet - once again a comic relief episode but tbh it was pretty funny, soichi was a lot less hateable this time too!

Being Babysat by Individual Parents

So when Neji is left alone at home with both Shoto and Aiko (Chihiro has like a meeting or has business up in the mountains or whatever idk), in general they’re both pretty good. Chihiro might have a quick run down with them before she leaves, but she trusts Neji to keep them safe 😌 he’s a good dad.

When they’re little I can see him like having activities planned for them, like games and he’ll have they’re meals all planned out. Would probably spend a lot of time with them in the courtyards/gardens at their house. As they get older it’s about the same, with some training mixed in for good measure. Maybe they’d go for walks around the village too?? Shoto is pretty easygoing and will be happy to spend time with his dad. Aiko has a lot more energy than Shoto, so she’s a bit more of a handful, but she’s generally happy to do whatever as long as it’s with her dad and/or big brother.

If Neji is home alone with just Shoto (maybe Chihiro takes Aiko to do something Osaka clan related idk), they pretty much just vibe. Shoto is pretty easy to entertain, even when he’s little. Would maybe ask to feed seeds to the birds outside or feed the koi fish and watch them swim. Would also be very interested in training with Neji. He’s also interested in books maybe? Like fantasy stories or other fiction pieces. Has a high reading level.

If Neji is left home with Aiko (maybe Chihiro takes Shoto for mountain training), it’s a bit more work than Shoto. Aiko is excited to do anything with her dad, but she’s way more energetic so she needs to be doing something constantly or she’ll get bored and a bit destructive. I can see Neji doing some training with her too, even though she doesn’t have the Byakugan; been thinking about having her be good at attacking weak points thanks to a mix of gentle fist techniques from her dad and anatomy & physiology studies from her mom. Also likes books but prefers to look at non fiction books about animals and nature, and she goes through them fast. Neji used to bring them home from the library but as she got older he would just take her there instead. Would also love to go on walks with Neji and talk to him about all the pretty birds she saw the other day. It makes him smile seeing how excited she is about the little things.

When Chihiro is left alone with the kids, she’s a bit more guarded. Won’t leave her kids by themselves anywhere, even at home. She has to stay within earshot of them or she’ll start to feel nervous (she’s especially like this when they’re little). Will take them out to dinner a few nights (she can cook but it’s not as good as Neji’s lol), go for walks, enjoy their gardens... pretty similar I guess. Chihiro tends to let them do their own thing more when she’s around, but will refuse to ever leave them alone.

When it’s just her and Shoto, it’s a lot of reading lol!! Usually it’s him reading a book while she’s doing paperwork or something, but she’ll always pause what she’s doing to answer a question for him. When Shoto discovers that he has fire nature like his mom, he definitely tries to get her to help train him with that. He ends up combining Fire jutsu with gentle fist and his Byakugan so he’s a pretty tough opponent when he’s older.

When it’s just Chihiro and Aiko, it’s a lot of transformation training; but Chihiro doesn’t call it that cuz then Aiko won’t wanna do it. So instead she makes it into a game where Aiko has to copy the animal her mom transformed into as close as she can and as fast as she can. Osaka children can start transforming early in life, and without proper training it can be difficult to control. Aiko also likes reading time with mom, but she always falls asleep before her mom finishes her work so she’ll usually carry her to bed.

Side note:

-I like to imagine that Hinata and Naruto (mostly hinata I guess tho since naruto is busy being hokage and stuff) would come over and help whoever was left alone with the kids watch them, and probably bring Boruto and Himawari over too to play. Or they’d invite them over for dinner and such just to kinda help out family.

(Idia doesn't dare tell them he needs a reference, but if he did they would definitely make Idia watch them fuck you so that he can see the anatomy of eel mer and human in real time. farewell Idia's sanity; he can't get away from 3D fish porn.) Azul is given his version of the commission, which is just him and his darling in the same situation as Tako to Ama. And the twins are given the version with them and you. Wait until Azul finds it hanging in a nice frame in their dorm room and he's like, "Who made this???? Why are you slimy fools with my beloved?????? And why is it in that exact situation????????" The trio are all so tall!!! Azul is 176 cm and the twins are 190 and 191 cm respectively. And they're even larger in their mer forms. orz I think the exact size of Jade and Floyd in their eel forms was mentioned once, but I could be wrong. I do know that Azul is much larger than both of them combined (I feel like Floyd pointed this fact out at some point in the story?). Either way, Azul and his mother are definitely bigger than eel mers. I feel like size kink works well with any merfolk because they're probably all much larger than humans.

Tiny Azul is cute to consider!! Make him Ponyo-sized. :D Omg imagine Ponyo-sized Azul who you rescue from drying out and you care for him until he's ready to be released, but by some terrible luck you find him stuck on the shore again. And so you take him in once more and nurse him back to health before releasing him, only for you to find him back on the shore the following week. Again and again it happens, until you realize he's deliberately trying to stay with you. So you keep him in the bathtub for now. Months turn to years and you and Azul mature and he grows much larger than you thought he ever would, and all those times you would lightheartedly tease him for being so small and cute are gone. Now he gets to tease you. >:D

big fakemon post??

when I was in high school, I wanted to make a fakemon region based on Canada. I still kinda do, but not nearly to the extent of interest I did then. Anyway, I have drawn and designed some fakemon that I am pretty proud of and thought it would be neat to share some of em

Geodot, Ohkoden, Minerodon > this pseudo-legendary line is based on the idea of a dragon with a den and hoard of gold, except the dragon is both! It starts as a smol geode, similar in appearance to Roggenrola. > ohko stone (aka dragonstone) is a rock that has a unique texture from water erosion. Erosion and refinement plays a role in this Pokemon's evolution, as it reveals the treasure hiding within. > the wing talons (?) gave me some trouble. I knew I wanted rocky, cavernous wings, but they originally looked very disconnected. Then I figured that, instead of having the talons on some arms from the serpentine body, I'd put them on the ends of the wings, giving this dragon similar anatomy to that of a wyvern. That choice really made the wings look cohesive. > I was originally going to have it be different colours rather than just gold, one for each stat (based on what its nature boosts). The forms would be called Amethyst Form, Ruby Form, Gold Form, etc. The thing about this was that I thought gold was the most relevant, since it is a dragon and gold is the goal in alchemy and all that fun stuff.

Migopu > Ice/Flying bc it lives in cold climates. > ptarmigan + lagopus makes its name. This is a mix of ptarmigans and the snowshoe hare, with ideas of snowshoes and skiing. The genus name Lagopus comes from hare+feet, based on how fluffy ptarmigans' feet are. That inspired me to give it the feet of a snowshoe hare, which are big enough to spread the hare's weight so that it does not sink in snow. > the colours are meant to reference rock ptarmigans, which have a bright bit of red on their faces in winter plumage. These Pokemon are excellent at walking on and sliding across the surface of deep snow.

Arboreelis > an eel that flies in the night skies of the region! it is meant to look like the colours of an aurora. There are two theories to how these Pokemon work: either they are drawn to the electricity that creates auroras, or they use their electrical powers to form auroras. > name comes from aurora borealis and eel. Ice/Electric because auroras are electrical phenomena in polar locations

Glubmerge, Glubmarine > fish + compass + sun dial + toy boat + submarine. kinda a random mix, but I think it's really cute. Water navigation fish! > Water type. glub + submerge, glub + submarine

Inkuaill > ink + inkwell + quill + quail > quills come from birds. this bird evokes paper, ink drops, inkwells, and the inking pens > I know I know I KNOW I already have a game bird but. they're completely different concepts ok > Normal/Poison because ink?? and because while it can fly, game birds are more known for being on the ground and running.

Frigeret, Boreabbit, Harfrost > HOARFROST! I mean mr rime has rime in its name which is the same thing just formed differently but,,, IDC we need some hoarfrost rep > what is winter throughout life? As a wee baby, it's a threat. The ears are meant to be like muffs or mittens, working to protect the blue-nosed baby. Frigeret (Normal) does not yet have mastery over ice. Even when awake, this little guy looks like it is permanently asleep, as if frozen. Frigid + leveret. (Note: hares are born with their eyes open. Frigeret can open its eyes tho?? idk i wanted it to look more frozen and cold, so the closed eyes thing is closer to rabbits here) > as a child, winter is the season of fun! Snowmen, snowballs, snowforts, sledding, skiing! When I was a kid, winter was my favourite season. The fun in this form is also based on Jack Frost, a sprite-like figure meant to explain the snow and cold in winter. This is what makes Boreabbit an Ice/Fairy type. Boreas + boreal + rabbit > getting older (even just as an adult), winter becomes more of an inconvenience. From driving to the cold to the later sun, the fondness of winter fades even before the aching bones from changing weather. Grouchy, Harfrost is meant to be closer to the idea of Old Man Winter. Still Ice/Fairy. hoarfrost + hare (ALSO the 'hoar' in hoarfrost means showing signs of aging!)

Nimbark, Halestial, Cirruscruff > cloud dogs? CLOUD DOG EVOLUTION LINE > Nimbark (Normal) is a lil spaniel with the big ears! These ears are so fluffy, they evoke clouds! One must be very careful when grooming because the ears are delicate but tangle easily. > Halestial (Normal/Flying) is a papillon dog! The big rounding ears are colourful, based on sun halos, also called sun dogs! These are rainbow circles around the sun, indicating a very cold day. > Cirruscruff (Normal/Flying) is a Newfoundland dog! Super big fluffy boy. It's super reliable and loyal to its trainer. These clouds are darker bc every image I see of a Newfie has dark fur > these bred dogs also represent the two main colonizing forces in Canada! Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are British bred dogs, and Papillons are French bred dogs. Newfies are Canadian dog breeds. > the idea of a fluffy, loyal, guardian angel cloud dog is based on my own dog, Merlin. He is a Morkie Poo, which doesn't really relate to this, BUT he is whitish and fluffy and soft and makes me think of clouds and I love everything about him and if I have a guardian angel dog it's this boi

1. Are you named after anyone? nope! my Government Name™️ is amethyst, like the stone, but my ma just thought it was cool :p i prefer aj or ham, though! i do say that aj stands for apple juice, so i guess i could be named after apple juice :pp

2. When was the last time you cried? friday! i heard really sad news regarding how my younger brothers are being parented by my biodad and it! hurt to realize he's not breaking his cycle :,)

3. Do you have kids? nope! but i do treat my oldest younger brother(the 18yo i write about a lot) like he's my son bc we had some Rough Moments™️ as kids where i was like the parent

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? yes! but a lot of people don't realize it #thankyouautism

5. What's the first thing you notice about people? oooo,,,,,, it really depends? i really stare at people's lips bc i have auditory processing issues,, and apparently i recognize people based on their mouths?? but im inclined to say eyes because i like them? idk,,, lips or eyes!

6. What's your eye color? i have centralized heterochromia! (like a big portion of people tbh, but i still think it's neat) so my eyes are like,, hazel? but not green hazel, they're grey! on the outside part at least, and the inside is like a golden brown :p

7. Scary movies or happy endings? this is hard!! i really fucking love scary movies,, all of my favorite movies are scary! but i'm a sucker for a happy ending,,, i think,,,, i may have to go scary though!

Dream job? good question! i'm not sure, honestly. i always say being a piercer, but i tend to get bored rather quickly of jobs and i change a lot, hence why i know how to decorate cakes but also can tell you which alarm companies have a better monitoring service, and can also make a mean ass from-scratch smash burger. i think that when i went to college(i dropped out) my dream job was being a pathologist, and i honestly think that i might still want to do that? but owning a queer run/servicing primarily queer people piercing studio sounds really fucking enticing. i could go on a whole thing about body affirming piercing and the effect it has on queer people, and how we have modern day american piercing thanks to our queer predecessors, but that's nerdy and not what the question asked! so, final answer: either a pathologist, or an owner of a queer piercing shop :p

i do like spiders but not enough to add them to my menagerie of fish and reptiles and bugs. i’m the one in the household advocating for leaving harmless house spiders alone! back when i lived in the southeast US tho, if i could not tell at a glance whether or not a spider was a brown recluse, i had to kill it because the alternative was, uh. well, look up brown recluse spider bites, if you’re feeling brave.

ahhhh i’m not sure i can choose a favourite! but in terms of animation styles that i enjoy, i am very much drawn to realism in terms of anatomy, movement, environments etc. i think this is why i just couldn’t enjoy adventure time or steven universe; i can’t handle the noodle-y and/or block-y arms, idk why. they’re like nails on chalkboard for my brain.

i tried a quiche today, at a cafe clearly customer-ed by rich people. i couldn't quite place why the baristas were like, colder than normal, but after a couple minutes of surveying their patronage i was like oh.. yeah. :( this is not the scene i'm used to!

anyway, it's night now. and you won't believe the set-up in my room. little context first: my congestion has been crazier than normal, sinuses just all out of whack, nostrils closing and opening at will. the left nose hole was like, dry today or something, so the corresponding left back of my throat was sore this evening. idk the actual cause and effect here, but maybe someday soon i'll educate myself on the anatomy of it all. anyway, i have too many important things happening over the next couple of days and i can't get sick or have any pestulancies (made-up word)!! since i had already steam-bathed myself over a cup of tea post-homemade-fish-taco-dinner, and it was kind of nice, i had some empirical evidence supporting the idea that adding moisture to my air & sleeping in that for hours would make a kind of difference, so, time to bust out the humidifier! but then-- the air purifier. hmmm, you see i wake up and sneeze every morning because of fucking dust or something idk. mold?! so i've been living with my new baby as we know...but would it dry out my new air? has it been? all thoughts i've had in the last 20 minutes. anyway, i go to fill up my humidifier with water, bam, she's working right away. i put her next to my bed and turn to the air purifier at the foot of my bed, turn it on. WHY IS IT READING AT 100?! oh mygod she turned on and boom numbers start flying up. what?! its normally at like...1. maybe 002. but we flew past the 70s into the 90s and past 100?! (don't ask me what it's measuring, idk, but number bigger = badder) so i was shocked! i ran her last night, with really no need! steady low numbers, even with/after candle burning. then wasn't in my room all day! maybe left my door open for a moment this evening... so that's an unsolved mystery. but i think ugh maybe the humidifier is too close to my bed, i don't want to get wet dirty air. so the two machines are now both at the foot of my bed, sharing the rug <3 sisters <3 so cute <3 and i am well taken care of. thank you, machines! please keep me healthy! (lol just realized the mug of tea i made a while ago is also still quite warm because of my electronic mug hahaha. that's so chic)

so i've got a lot going on, internally and externally. big woo. have to get up so early tomorrow-- i shouldnt be up right now-- to go to a catholic training about protecting god's children, mandatory for before i begin tutoring writing once a week at an in-need private school. awkwarrddd for the church! • Bakugo also really hates chairs. Idk why I have this headcanon, but I know it in my heart that this man, as an adult, only has those round weird- ish IKEA stools around the kitchen table that's all. No more chairs. Nothing.

• this is too self indulgent but Kirishima and Deku look like the people who, while washing forks, spoons etc they create whole stories about them and treat them like characters, and others would just look at them so confused as to why it takes 16 minutes to wash off a spoon and why are they also crying but you wouldn't understand. This spoon is Cinderella. Back off and let. them. finish. their. stories.

• I feel like Jirou has phases where she only wants to wear black but then she sees a nice pair of jeans and buys it, and then buys some more and then she gets mad about having blue jeans and she dyes them, but then she grows out of that phase for a few months and she tries to find ways to make the fabric paint fade away

• I also think that she, after spending a little time with Momo, spends money on a lot of clothes, and it's not like Momo buys too many clothes, but Jirou always wants to upgrade her wardrobe and ends up feeling lost on what she wants to wear

• Denki and Kirishima turn into the same person a little more every single time they hang out together. You'll listen to Denki say 'manly' all the time and Kirishima starts trying to find leather jackets that look cool on him, and just adopts Dennis speaking habits.

#4 Mako Mermaids mermaid tails

Jonathan decided to expand everything: lore, universe, cast (so many tails and tops you guys, if I was the one in charge of gluing all those scales I would've killed myself on the spot) but his budget obviously wore thin.

so weak, so flimsy, need milk

These make me sigh to no end, why whyyy the same design as h2o when they have NO budget to afford the same tails.

Look at how they murdered my girls, the tails can no longer stand on its own, they look so sad. THE TAIL PHOTO IS PART OF THE ESSENCE OF H2O,THE MAIN DRAW OF A MERMAID SHOW. They really had to photoshop the tails on later seasons 😔. Tragic.

i appreciate that each tail has a fun unique pattern kinda animal inspired under the scales. it gives the tails an opportunity to blend with the characters and their personalities. also them tails still hit my little nostalgia bones.

#3: Mako Mermaids Merman tails

The addition of mermen was so good and the production fucked up the overall design of the mermen (no upper body fish details? for real? it really bothers me).

this tail wouldn't be so low in the list if it wasn't in the h2o verse. it's clearly the most creative design of the bunch (again getting killed by the lack of structure) but there's an established look to the tails, getting 3 similar designs with a realistic approach and a blue fantasy outlier???, not a fan of the color but I get why it happened, the shape tho????.

poor mako mermaids 😔 the tails don't have the same structural strength and intense detailing as the h2o ones. BUT COMMON ZAC IS THE MAIN CHARACTER (and on s1 the only merman). Mah boi Chai is too strong for these tails😭 look at how it bends at the ankles.

#2 H2O season 3 mermaid tails.

these have the opposite problem. these are so thick lol why do these weight 40 kilos lmao.

these look different from s1, not a problem. they look yellower and lighter in color. the fish detailing is thicker. the tail has glitter in it now?? this simplified design helped me understand the anatomy of the tail, so my art skills owe to this design a lil bit lol, and it looks pretty underwater tbh.

I don't get the change tho, the show has a darker plot, the characters have grown up but the tails have a more kid friendly look??? I don't remember toys of them.

why make a whole new set of tails when the new mermaid got transformed on the opposite side of the world and the other two already had tails

sidenote: these ruined all fan edits that wanted all 4 mermaids together (5 if you include Charlotte) bc they had to edit either Emma or Bella with the other tail and it looked weird and mismatched.

Honorable mention: H2O Season 1 Miriam costume contest tail

this one is so funny, it mocks the practicality of mermaid costumes. it looks opposite of what our "real" mermaids look like. all colorful and shiny and over the top. Also this look gives miriam a good amount of karma thanks to kim lol.

LOOK AT THEMMMM. 2006, the start of the gritty realistic aesthetic in TV and movies, and those mermaid tails fit so beautifully in that era. the bright campy 2000s beach fashion + dark "realistic" fantasy is such a *chef kiss* combination.

the tails are designed to look as real as possible, a tail for an animal that big needs muscles, the tails need to look strong enough to push the mermaid and flexible enough to believe the fluke is still a movable body part.

The brown-orange kinda fits into the realistic fish colors plus those naturally occuring in human skin + hair. also the top gives a unified whole bodyness to the transformation 💕

THE TEXTURE, oh god those scales were glued with love istg and that fluke was carved with so much detail and care.

these tails oof they invented mermaids istg any future mermaid media owes them BIG TIME. if it's cgi the tail needs to look strong, integrated into the body, and affect the movement accordingly, if it's practical effect they need to hide them knees and ankles!!, those breaks ruin the illusion of flow and hydrodynamics while swimming ( + recognizing a human body underneath kinda breaks the immersion).

hoofsnort: a cream coloured med-cat tom with very light brown markings. his feet have light brown, brown and black markings going down them. he has a brown and black muzzle which is barely visible because of his long black hair. he tries to tie his hair up with herbs but he still has enough hair for it to entirely cover his eyes. he also has a black tail. he is the son of driptail.

driptail: a cream coloured tom with white feet and ears. most of his head and back are a greenish-blue colour. farther down his back, near his tail the green-blue gets darker, then turning into just blue near the end of his tail. he has fish-shaped spots all along his back and tail, and a single fish spot on his forehead. he really wants to kill people and probably does way to many drugs. he is the father of hoofsnort

Band Camp Day 4

I'm sore in muscles that I didn't even know I had. Which is saying something since I took a 300-level anatomy class last semester

Forgive me, I know how late this is, but band camp got hectic really fast, and then classes started, and I'm trying to do these now while I remember

today's senior prank: plastic wrapping the tower. It went very well

when rehearsal started, our band director immediately said that he was taking the two drill instructor librarians to make pregame drill copies, so that's where I went

we learned how to copy drill, and apparently we missed the snake, which was a huge thing last year (bc piccs started and dominated it)

and we missed step-2 drill, which I'm completely okay with

tho when the drill instructors demonstrated it, apparently my SL had to go up in my place so that it'd be an even amount of people, which I'm actually okay with bc that makes sense, and it's not ML2

i mean what

anyway, back in the copy room, my accomplice and I were counting how many drill charts each section needed, then labelling the sections with sticky notes. I drew a bear on each sticky note

I drew a lot of bears yesterday, and none of them stuck for more than two hours. it's been a really hot and sweaty week

oh also our band director mentioned that he's leaving for a funeral tomorrow night?

anyway, about an hour and a half later (10am), we returned to the field and handed out drill

the drill instructors were then called to go get numbers (basically we each get a number, and the drill instructors are told which numbers are for which section)

and I guess everyone was talking about the bears? bc my DI got up there and was like "wait, you guys are getting bears?" and then showed the piccolo sticky note, which reads "diccalos" with a drawing of a penis

that penis is poorly drawn and captioned "this is clearly a pair of scissors"

the mello DI took a picture he thought it was so funny, which has been fueling my serotonin levels

and!! people kept mentioning that they liked the bears! I was very excited about it

we learned the first half of pregame. I got the same spot as last year, surprisingly. And I'm next to more piccs, which is also really cool

the drumline's been facing a lot of issues with not knowing what number of people should go on which instrument bc things keep getting switched around by various people

this caused a lot of confusion on the field when there were 6 snares but only 5 charted snare parts

and our band director was NOT happy about it. He kept saying useless stuff like "it seems like you found a place, just use that" and other things like that

one of my good friends is on drumline and she cried. Apparently her drill instructor was really close to crying too

lunch time/passport to campus (a thing that helps people check in and does not apply to me since I live off campus and am a senior)

although we did get lunch from 12-3 because of that. I had time to shower, which was so nice

I currently am drenched in sweat as I type this, tho, so it does sorta feel like it was for nothing

the clarinets started sitting with us, and our freshman is talking to their freshmen, which is really good bc she needs friends who aren't just seniors. I'm very excited

okay but also during lunch we heard some CRAZY tea like. There's this sophomore clarinet player who wanted to get with this sophomore drumline dude and they were this close but APPARENTLY she has chlamydia like wtf and then he blocked her on all social media they had each other on?? and then she kept trying to add him on everything?

AND the drumline is recruiting, so she's like "imma switch to drumline" so yikes @ the drumline good luck

we had outdoor playing rehearsal since we can't be in the band room and ig the previous room we were using is now being occupied by people returning to campus or smthn idk

also the music librarians asked one of the old librarians for help with something EVEN THOUGH us drill librarians knew how to do it so um

we started playing songs that we're gonna do in our first halftime show, and the key signature on the first one is funky, so he had us play that scale, and the piccs sounded so bad that he relocated us so that we could spend time tuning

well the problem was that one of us was playing the wrong scale so yes i'm sure we sounded out of tune

but then we had to tune everyone, then we did it note by note, and then half an hour later we rejoined the band

our band director was like "some of them are smiling, some... aren't" that was awkward

and then we played some more, and at one point he's like "drumline only play this" and then they did, and we politely, softly, clapped

emphasis on SOFTLY and the band director got mad because we shouldn't congratulate them for not being good

like jesus fuck give the drumline a break

and then to top it off, we didn't even get sectionals. the closest we got to sectionals was the piccs tuning

there's also this random man who's standing with our band director, but the kick is that I know who this random man is

my friend from drumline said that her old band director was coming to be our sub while our band director was away for the funeral

sure enough, we got the intro. he's our sub, he's taught 7 people in the band, etc, etc, alumni of my uni, played sousa, etc etc

then we had dinner, which was the last free meal we got for band camp. The pickings were slim, but it was all fine. the other drill librarian didn't sit with the piccs and that was mmmmmm bc I get that she's trying to be an Older Sister to one of the fish clarinets but pls sit with your section

Then we were back outside for more marching rehearsal, where we learned the rest of pregame, marching AND playing. Which like. Yeah, that's pretty on track for a normal band camp? Usually it's good by Thursday and today is Wednesday, so not bad!

I'm mostly worried because two years ago, we didn't do a lot of pregame during band camp and he got angry during the season when we didn't know it very well like

maybe you should have stuck to your normal schedule

also I fckn hate the pregame song. Hooray for Hollywood can suck my rectum

our band director said we might do halftime drill tomorrow? which means the other drill librarian and I have more to print? maybe? tomorrow morning?

our fifth year DI was noncompliant! for the first time in five years! our DM made sure the band knew that

half the band was noncompliant which kinda... wasn't fun bc it takes the purpose out. It's not as humiliating when everyone's doing it with you

it's kinda bc the mellos are doing the thing that the trombones do, where when one is noncompliant, everyone is, and personally I think that should Only be a trombone thing

it's better and funnier when only one section does it

after singing the alma mater and fight song, we flash mobbed dance again

But I DO have a funny story from when I was really small (but still able to form words), and the grown-ups were watching TV or smth and one of them asked me “hey Amanda, what’s the name of the prime minister?” to jokingly test my skills, and i actually answered “göran persson” in my toddler-voice (AND it was the right answer!)

What’s a job that you’ve had that people might be surprised to find out you’ve had? I’ve barely had any actual employment, but I suppose that me working at a tech company last year (I illustrated stuff and other things) would be kinda surprising, considering how I’m not a fan of new tech?

I have managed to gather up some autographs on paper, but one signed BOOK I have is from when I was little, and our family apparently met with Ilon Wikland (an illustrator, mostly famous for her illustrations in Astrid Lindgren-books). me and my brother got a different book each (ones that she had both illustrated) and she signed them for us. I used to love just looking at her illustrations and take in the atmosphere of them. Her art was prolly my first major source of inspiration, even.

Preferred way to spend a rainy day? Stay inside and enjoy the fact that it’s raining. But I also love to take walks when it rains
