I LOVE LOVE LOVE:

the sam and miguel ship/dynamic because they both started out borderline defenseless and passive but they came from a safe home space where they didn't need to be aggressive, and over the course of the show grew into people who, because of how they started and were raised, are now protective and assertive and confident and make the first move to take care of the people they love so that they don't have to

AND

the robby and tory ship/dynamic because they both started out volatile and aggressive because that's how they had to be to survive their childhoods where they couldn't afford weakness, and over the course of the show they grew into people who are loving and compassionate with others and want to be peaceful, because that's not how it has to be anymore, and they're in a place to build up and keep safe the people that they love

Sam would've benefited from better narrative framing in season 4, no doubt.

I mean, if prom put more emphasis on Sam's PTSD, that would've made the whole fight better. Considering that Redditors seem to be doing the writers' jobs here.

I feel like a prom fight where they emphasize Sam's PTSD and anger over the fact that Tory hasn't faced any lasting consequences for her actions, and moreover had the fight end with Sam coming out on top, would've been better.

(Sidenote, I would also have Miguel not be mad at Sam and instead have him be more attuned to the fact that Sam is traumatized. And I'd have him at minimum be in Sam's corner, because yeah, that might do something to dampen Sam's anger over the fact that the people who should be siding with her are taking the side of the girl who's bullied and traumatized her)

Sam clearly isn’t over her PTSD and she feels frustrated with the lack of consequences for Tory-I do agree. And definitely, she needed better narrative framing, so most of the fandom can understand where she's coming from and not be focused on Tory's 'poor home life', because she's the 'hotter actress' and because 'she's Peyton List'....Please! Sam felt pushed into a corner, because she was expecting her own mother to have her back on why she didn't want Tory back at school.

Miguel was more mad that 'their night' was ruined; I really thought he would've been more understanding and compassionate of Sam's feelings and yet we never get a scene between the two of them where they just talk about everything. Hey at least, some of the fan fiction out there has these scenes lol!

I really hope that season 5 addresses this more!

Miguel Diaz — ♾️/10 i love him so much he is actually my boyfriend!!! <333 HE IS SO <3333 I LOVE HIM I LOVE HIM I LOVE HIM

Johnny Lawrence— 9/10 he carried the show tbh, truely iconic

Daniel Larusso — 4/10 he was not it in this show, very judgy and annoying tbh…

Samantha LaRusso — 4.5/10 I had mixed feelings though the whole show…her and miguel were cute but she was not my favorite like Miguel just wanted prom to be about them but she just HAD to make it about her and Tory… also the fact she was the only girl on miyagi do and lowkey made it her whole personality was not it…

Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz — 7.5/10 I actually enjoyed his character and loved how he didn’t let kyler and the others get to him and found himself. DIDNT LIKE HOW HE WAS A BULLY TO DEMITRI AT ALL but then he had a redemption arc and actually came back and was a good person again and i respect him so much for it (also he was really funny ngl)

Robby Keene— 6.5/10 I loved Robbys character development throughout the show and how he grew with himself and learned to forgive Johnny throughout the series. HOWEVER there we quite a few moments that i was like DAMN how could he do that, like shaving off Hawks mohawk and legit screwing everything up for him and pushing the literal loml off a balcony when he was giving you mercy and didn’t want to fight anymore 😐 so there’s that. Nonetheless Robby still gets a 6.5

Tory Nichols — 9/10 i loved her way more than sam tbh. like she had way more character development and a reason behind her actions. payton list did a wonderful job with tory, and i feel like she will have such a big impact in season 6. i honestly loved her so much and can’t wait to see more of her

Kenny— 6/10 okay kenny i get you were bullied and shit and good for you for standing up to your bullies but he really thought he was all that and frankly he was quite annoying in my opinion.

Kyler , Terry , Kim — -27277228282828/10 I hate them i hate them i hate them i hate them no explanation needed.

John Kreese— 3.5/10 you see i have major on the fence syndrome with him cause i see what he was doing and he kinda had a redemption arc ig ig ig but like he was a bitch in the movies and like like like idk terry is WAY WORSE THAN HIM like IDK HOW TO FEEL ABT KREASE LIKE HE CARED ABOUT JOHNNY AND STUFF ANF WE FOUFNBTHAT OUT W/ THE FLASHBACKS HELP I FEEL IMA GET ATTACKED FOR RHIS 😭😭

Demitri — 8/10 he was very annoying at first and judgy but then he joined karate and found his confidence and then became a bad bitch so i personally love like s 3/4/5 demitri

Anthony Larusso — same with anthony he was a little annoying brat in the first 4 seasons and then hr pulled through in season 5 soooo 4/10 bc he can’t make up for it that much ykwim?

first REAL scene is chozen swimming booty ass naked in the larusso pool 🤣 amanda walks out on him like BRO??? and then goes to daniel like get this man out of my house. brings up a good point that the match ended, sam wasn't hurt, its all over but daniel Knows. the real terry silver. and amanda just wants to relax this summer. she will not be getting that

miguel in mexico. im telling you people CHEERED when he showed up <3 my prince. gets scammed out of some money 😭 but gets pointed in the right direction. he almost gets beat up at the bar where he thinks he's going to find his father and they say a liberal amount of swear words in spanish. there goes our season Fuck work allotment 😔 gets all bummed out abt failing to find his dad and calls sam who's like BRO where r u and he's like 😔 Trying to Find Myself. and then sam is like r u even going to ask if i won my match and miguel says thee ICONIC some things are more important than karate line 😭

daniel gathers all the miyagi kids and is like ok you're retiring from karate i dont want to put targets on your backs. and sam is like I CAN FIGHT 😭 and daniel says terry isnt above hurting children so he's going to keep all of them out of this fight. sam gets a little frustrated fighting scene where she keeps redoing the moves of the all valley its very :( you can tell she feels guilty for having lost

johnny and robby are in mexico, robby obvs doesnt know theyre there for miguel. johnny is. classic johnny. they get a flat tire and bond a little bit. robby finds out that johnny went looking for him when he went missing and it Softens the relationship between them.

chozen and daniel Scheme about how to bring down terry. chozen just wants to Stab him. says thee SECOND most iconic line "take me to terry silver" go spy on him outside the dojo 🤣 its very funny but also chozen is like. i recognize his Style.... and then we get that bit where he's like terry's method is about not fighting with honor....we must outsnake the snake.....

miguel is bummed abt not finding his dad so he mopes around and then DOES run into his dad and his dad's family. follows them a bit in a totally not creepy way. saves the life of his dad's son (who is actually his stepson). and they're like come have dinner with us and miguel is :D

johnny runs into the same dirtbags who scammed miguel and when they try to rob him he beats the shit out of them. robby helps! and its the first time i can tolerate him. the music fucks. they do end up pointing him and robby in the right direction and the two get a sweet little bonding moment.

DO YOU WANNA KNOW. WHAT DANIEL AND CHOZEN'S PLAN IS. CHOZEN IS GONNA INFILTRATE COBRA KAI AS A SENSEI. THATS LITERALLY THE PLAN 😭 these old men r gonna die for real.
