I think what really makes winx on ice special is the extra mile the writers and co. went. They could have easily skipped Daphne or Faragonda or maybe even Valtor’s role in the show (not to mention the specialists or the ensemble or all the costumes), but including them makes the show seem more…canon? i guess

Some photos of other stuff we have been doing recently! we joined a 1800 dancing class so we can assist a regency ball we were invited to in may at a beautiful palace! it is so fun 🥰 then we went to the Romanticism museum with everyone and I took photos of them all dressed up! we also worked on our ice skating skills with limited success
And Eddie Diaz is a strong man. He’s been through war and trauma after trauma, bad things happening to him and almost everybody he cares about. He’s witnessed one of his best friends recovering in a hospital bed, stabbed by Maddie’s crazed and wretched ex-husband. He’s seen a ladder truck crush his friend and his wife passing away in front of his very eyes. He’s seen the aftermath of a tsunami that his son and Buck had been in the midst of. He’s persevered and kept himself alive, keeping his mental health just above crumbling. He’s a firefighter who carries people and heavy equipment and saves them from danger; he has to be one of the strongest people he knows. The struggles of recovering from bullet wounds on two separate occasions and his first love leaving him to take care of their children while she cared for her sick mother toughened him up more than anything else. He is a strong, strong man.
But right here, right now, Buck is in front of him. He’s big and bundled up, his huge hands cradling Eddie’s, his smile absolutely infectious; with rosy cheeks and twinkling eyes, he looks like one of those sweet blonde cherubs in the paintings decorating his abuela’s hallways. Eddie Diaz isn’t a religious man, but he thanks God that the man holding him close has survived time after time again.
“Okay,” He says, because Buck’s word is one holy and true; the thing he trusts most. If Buck tells him to hold his hands to ice skate, he will. “Just lead the way.”
Please excuse me while I have a mental breakdown over this glorious costume.
Now let me preface this by saying that there are exactly two male figure skaters which I have adored and Yuzu was the second one.
The first was actually Johnny Weir and this particular costume with its half skirt, it’s asymmetrical pronounced shoulder, it’s dark ornate vibe and so much about it’s presentation really reminds me of JW. (Think poker face / Bad Romance sorta gala programs). But so so much better! So much more polished(?) and unique.
I just love it so much and I would happily sell my soul to Yuzuru or Satomi idc. It is everything I could have ever imagined for him.
