Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows of a good hurt/comfort Puzzleshipping fanfic set in Season 4/Doma Arc/Seal of Orichalcos Arc? Specifically where Yugi and the Pharaoh reunite and there's more emotional payoff and/or they talk about what happened afterwards and Yugi forgives the Pharaoh despite the Pharaoh still isn't sure of himself after everything's over. On July 1249 Alexander III, King of Scots, was crowned at Scone.

I say crowned, but a source writing about it, albeit 200 years later makes no mention of the crowning, so let’s just say it was his formal inauguration as king.

The account is preserved in the writings of Walter Bower, canon of Inchcolm  seems to have transferred some of the customs of his day back to the past. However, his account does have the main parts of the ceremony: the sitting on the stone, the acclamation of the people, the reciting of the genealogy, evidently in Gaelic. At this date Gaelic was beginning to be pushed out of use at the royal court - note how this account plays it down by implying that the seannachie [bard] had just popped up, as if from nowhere. Perhaps when Walter Bower incorporated the older material into his Scotichronicon, he failed to understand the significance of the role of the 'Highland Scot'. Preserved by later chroniclers, the substance of this account gives the first detailed picture of the 'making' of a Scots monarch. So apart from it being a wee bit mixed up, and perhaps incomplete, it is a fascinating insight into a ceremony almost 800 years ago, the version has been translated into modern English;

In accordance with the custom which had grown up in the kingdom from antiquity right up to that time, after the solemn ceremony of the king's coronation, the bishops with the earls brought the king to the cross which stands in the cemetery at the east end of the church. With due reverence they installed him there on the royal seat which had been bedecked with silk cloths embroidered with gold. So when the king was solemnly seated on this royal seat of stone, with his crown on his head and his sceptre in his hand, and clothed in royal purple, and at his feet the earls and other nobles were setting down their stools to listen to a sermon, there suddenly appeared a venerable, grey-haired figure, an elderly Scot. Though a wild highlander he was honourably attired after his own fashion, clad in a scarlet robe. Bending his knee in a scrupulously correct manner and inclining his head, he greeted the king in his mother tongue, saying courteously: 'God bless the king of Albany, Alexander mac Alexander, mac William, mac Henry, mac David.' And so reciting the genealogy of the kings of Scots he kept on to the end. The mode in which the ceremony of his coronation was performed, is strikingly illustrative of the manners of that age. The Bishops of St Andrews and Dunkeld, with the Abbot of Scone, attended to officiate ; but an unexpected difficulty arose. Alan Durward, the great Justiciary, remarked, that the king ought not to be crowned before he was knighted, and that the day fixed for the ceremony was unlucky. The objection was selfish, and arose from Durward, who was then at the head of the Scottish chivalry, expecting that the honour of knighting Alexander would fall upon himself,  But Comyn earl of Menteith, insisted that there were frequent examples of the consecration of kings before the solemnity of their knighthood; he represented that the Bishop of St Andrews might perform both ceremonies; he cited the instance of William Rufus having been knighted by Lanfranc archbishop of Canterbury; and he earnestly urged the danger of delay. Nor was this danger ideal. 

Then of course there were the usual mutterings from the English in the instance that Henry III, in a letter to Rome, had artfully represented Scotland as a fief of England; and had requested the pope to interdict the ceremony of the coronation until Alexander obtained the permission of his feudal superior. 

Henry III son is more famous for trying to subjugate Scotland for his own purposes of extending his Kingdom, so much so he earned the Nome de plume The Hammer of the Scots.
