Simon "Ghost" Riley General Headcanons
A/N: This is just headcanons that have popped up in my head or whatever but I'm trying my best to keep it lore accurate/based off of lore. There will be some mentions of abuse, mental health, substance abuse (alcohol and drugs) and body dysmorphia due to how his character is.
General Appearance:
Starting with appearances, I think he's 6'2-6'4 and weighs 200-230 lbs (189-195 cm and 90-104 kgs).
He has prominent muscles, but they aren't Arnold Schwarzenegger huge but still large enough to the point that most people are impressed.
He has short, blondish hair where in the winter, it darkens to a light sandy brown if he doesn't go outside.
He had more of a fair and cool undertone but after spending time in the Middle East he darkened up slightly.
Everyone he knows always debates whether his eyes are green, grey or hazel but he personally thinks they are hazel with a light blue on the edges.
His nose is slightly hooked but is also kind of crooked from the front due to it being broken a gazillion times.
General Personality:
As proven previously with the "Alone" mission, Simon is a pretty funny guy.
I feel like there's a common misconception about him that he's super serious and cold and has no emotion but that's FAAAAAALSE.
When he's not on duty I'm a firm believer he acts sassy with the others to be funny.
He obviously knows that there's a time and place for everything but he also knows when a joke or sarcastic comment is needed to lighten the mood up.
I feel like his enhanced ability to read the room kind of stems from him having to always observe and walk on eggshells with his dad in the past.
Like if he misread his mood he could've potentially gotten hurt, leading to Mama Riley defending him causing her to get hurt too but that's for another post.
Back to the humor I feel like a lot of times he's just unintentionally funny like he'll say something, and because of his delivery people laugh and he just sits there confused like "???? I didn't make a joke"
100% a workaholic with no work-life balance because who needs that when your job is your life!
Once the guy starts working, he ain't gonna stop until he says so.
Super observant, he notices the fine details so if you think you can cut corners around him? You're mistaken.
Simon is moody af but that's definitely heightened by his kinda crappy mental health.
General Family:
He hates his dad.
Did I mention he hates his father?
For sure a mama's boy but not in an "I was my son's first girlfriend" kind of way.
He looks up to his mom like crazy and still has an emotional attachment to her from when he was young due to his father being emotionally, physically, and mentally abusive to him.
Anytime he comes back from a mission, has a rough day, or just needs advice on a decision or life he ALWAYS calls Mama Riley.
She's literally his rock because he sees her as someone who is steadfast and strong who goes based on the facts and how she takes things for face value, similar to Simon. I think this also gave Simon an admiration of single mothers and women in general since he grew up with more of a perspective from his mother than his father.
He loves Tommy to bits and pieces, and they were hands down partners in crime back in their teenage years before Simon enlisted.
If you go around Manchester, you can still see some of their graffiti tags on different things.
When Tommy became a drug addict, Simon was there for him from day 1 till he finally got clean.
A/N: This isn't much but if y'all want more I can work on another that's more detailed! Requests are always open so leave some suggestions on things you want to see!

PLEASSEEE TELL US ABOUT YOUR MYTHIC MUMBATTAN AU PLEASE PLEASEE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
>:) very well, my people (currently screaming because i wrote a response but i accidentally CTRL+Zd everything out of existence lmao)
Tumblr media
The Mythic Mumbattan AU is me pouring the following ingredients into an explosive mess:
Hindu mythology and Indian culture overload
college!Spider-Man shenanigans
revamping the original Spider-Man: India plotlines and expanding the lore
character studies!!! my favourite :)
a potential and self-indulgent crossover with another indian superhero (if we ever get there)
the horrors.
Pavitr and his personal cast!!! just!!!! THEY!!!!!!
(keep reading if you want more goodies >:D)
So the CoffeeBean is a coffeeshop that existed in the mainstream Marvel universe and in real life but that's another thing; the cast below frequently drop by to hang out with one another. The Mumbattan-equivalent of the CoffeeBean is actually the TeaHouse which is another real life thing but shh and so in-universe they're called the TeaHouse gang, but in my heart they'll always be the CBG 😌
Everyone goes to Brihanmumbai State University (BSU). Lots of crazy things happen here. Pavitr's relationship with the others is always in flux but ultimately they're super close with one another (fuck it, they might as well be poly). Their personalities I try to keep as close as I can to the mainstream universe E616 comics, but I'm being creative and letting a few things from the SMI comics and ATSV influence them:
Pavitr Prabhakar — Tamilar (Tamil); he has the charm and skills from his ATSV counterpart and the smarts from his SMI counterpart; he can be a bit of a jerk and a flake, but he tries to be a good friend, and is much more open than he was in high school.
Meera Jain — Kannadiga (Kannada); basically how I've written her in tibim: everyone's first impression of her is that she's carefree and seems to not worry too much about life. She secretly deals with a lot of self-doubt and personal fears, but the gang's presence is enough for her to push them aside.
Gayatri Singh — Gujarati (Gujarati); she's probably the most quiet of the gang, but undeniably the kindest. She's more similar to Pavitr, in that she's stubborn and quick to judge. She's the glue of the gang and always willing to extend a hand to others
Hari Oberoi — Maharashtrian (Gujarati/Marathi/Hindi); the son of the man who tried to bring literal hell to earth, but other than that he's okay. He's a people-pleaser despite having everything, and struggles with his own self-image and who he should become
Ekansh "Flash" Travasso — Goan (Marathi); the high school jock who's grown more understanding and compassionate. He knew Pavitr the longest, so they have quite an interesting collection of interactions. (ALSO I'M SO SORRY I WROTE THOMPSON IN THE ART POST INSTEAD OF TRAVASSO 😭 maybe i should go back and edit that)
Spider-Man is Spider-Man'ing. Mumbattan loves him (sort of. Inspector Singh has mixed feelings). But another question: why is that every where Spider-Man goes the demons of yore all start showing up and begin wrecking havoc? Why is that? I am taking the magic in Spider-Man: India and dialing it up to five million — horrors and magic of every kind! I can get my hands real dirty and /really/ push Pavitr to his limit >:)
That is all for now. There will be more characters, but they'll show up in time. Lots of stories too, all old and new and revamped and crazy, but they'll be told when they're ready. Perhaps this is enough to satiate everyone's hunger? (unless you want to know something else, then by all means go ahead and ask!!!)

TOP 5 FAVORITE KIRBY CHARACTERS
GO
AUGHAHGSBABDH....I LOVE ALL OF THEM SOSOSO MUCH <33 BUT HERE'S SOME OF THE ONES I THINK ARE VERY COOL (plus my thought process when drawing them)
Tumblr media
6. cmonn... its kirby. kirby from kirby. he's such a wonderful fellow and so awe inspiring and cute and manifestation of love and friendship. he's a bonus but how could you not love him.
5. pitch!!!!! i love him i love him i love him. og birb with g r e e n colors and squeaky little design. plus he's super fun to use in DL3 :] to me he is a 7 year old kid who wants to be included with the big kids, and tries to act all cool and tough to impress them (but he really just loves his mama). i like drawing him with giant ahoges/head feathers, as well as giving him that long side-beak that i'm pretty sure i got from pato from pocoyo??
4. susie is amazing and wonderful and has a beautifully complex character that more people need to recognize!!! she's a capitalist and constantly has a condescending sales representative demeanor, but at heart she's just a playful girl who loves pink and ice cream and her dad that never got to have a full childhood to experience them. ALSO cyborg susie! i like to think her father let her choose one body modification each year on her birthday, but after the portal incident, she's been giving herself so many alterations that she's barely organic anymore (her voice is very AI sounding to me). uhh i like drawing her with little stars on her cuffs, and as of late i've been making her hair very fluffy (it has the same texture of a barbie doll)
3. RIBBON AAAA!!!!!!!!! i'll admit as a kid i did not like her but god she is a joy. that is a little girl! look at her! i love the idea of her being just a weird little chihuahua girl who performs seances regularly and knows the entire history of weaponry. also her being the crystal knight/guardian of ripple star headcanon!!! 🗣️🗣️ she is 100% the queen's adopted sister prove me wrong. lastly, i try to draw her as heart-shaped as possible— wings, head, hair, bow, eye highlights all vaguely resemble a heart and that is my biggest rule when i draw her. her little coat thing is inspired by @//somethinginworl 's design <33
2. bandana dee is my heart and soul and we tolerate ZERO disrespect for him here. even in canon, he's got one of the most well-defined personalities and backstories for a non-villain character! (in my heart he is the waddle dee from 64 and you can pry this from me with my cold dead hands) he's grown sososo much and i love how hal recognizes his development :]]] he may never amount to the same power as kirby, but goddammit if he doesn't have a heart and will of a true warrior 💜 i don't have a lot of idiosyncratic design choices since he's such a simple character, but his bandana ears must always be HUGE you hear me.
1. um. if you can't tell. i am very normal about adeleine. her moves in SA are super fun to use (and challenging), and oh my goshhhh the angst potential here. i am begging hal to bring her back in future games, especially with the more ancients-focused lore being incorporated recently. at heart though, i just really adore seeing her draw and paint amidst all these magical creatures in her life <3 she's slightly shy but super passionate, and is definitely kirby's big sister with her advice (especially in the storybooks!) and nicknames for him (kir-kun/kirbs in the manga). i caved long ago and gave her curtain bangs, and i really like dressing her up and experimenting with different outfits! *breathes heavily* the happy little artist kid makes me a very happy little artist kid 🫶
thanks for listening to my ramblings! in all honesty all of the kirby characters are my favorites and choosing just 5 is very hard and thought-inducing! :]

I'm actually really in love with Bart from The Legion of Super Heroes in the 31st Century tie-in comics with the 2006 animated series.
We don't know exactly how much of his origin in this series is EXACTLY parallel with his comic lore but there are some similarities with a little tweak but none-the-less the implications seem to be a little sinister.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The issue opens up with Chuck (Bouncing Boy) and Luornu (Triplicate Girl) being shifted from a recreational VR simulator directly to Bart's own VR "server" (a replica of 21st century Keystone City) where he explains that he's there to get his powers under control.
Of course in his comic origins this is untrue, but it is something that the scientists charged with 'observing' him might have told him instead of the truth. Again, in this we do not know if there is any foul play going on with Bart for sure but nevertheless things are amiss.
Tumblr media
The VR world Bart is in seems to house AI sentients and their disappearances is enough to convince Chuck and Luornu to help Bart. Where the scientists are in all of this is... questionable. It could be that Bart's origins in this are no different from the comics and he is essentially an unknowing prisoner.
What is interesting is throughout this issue they try to imply that they don't know for sure if Bart is an AI, or if he is plugged into VR, but by the end you get the impression he is plugged in like the rest of them.
Tumblr media
The word usage they use is that he "lives" in the VR which is not inaccurate even in the comics. Bart spent the majority of his life in the 30th/31st century plugged into VR making it his home as he knew no other way of life. Bart doesn't seem to differentiate between the two as VR is his home right now.
Because thinking is involved in solving this case naturally they have to reach out to Querl for help, which solves a lot of mysteries about Bart through implication.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way how Querl talks is interesting... and when Querl comes into all of this is when things get interesting as we get a small implication that Bart is plugged into VR, and is not just an AI.
Tumblr media
Querl refers to Bart by his full name, no where in this issue does Bart use his full name. The fact that he says he is honored to meet him implies that Querl likely remembers Bart's origins from some annals of time due to his knowledge of history and special interest of 21st century heroes.
I also like that in this they push Bart's friendship with Querl which was a thing even in his 90s comics (as unusual as it was).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Querl reveals that he's read that he's fast, again this could mean he knows 21st century history OR he just pulled the information about Bart from the facility that is holding him, but it's likely the former due to how honored he was to meet him.
Tumblr media
In this Querl and Bart work together in much better harmony than they did in the comics which is a delightful contrast.
Tumblr media
Also in direct contrast to Bart's interaction with the Legionnaires in the comics, he is immediately invited to join up. This is something that comic Bart fervently wanted.
Unfortunately, he is unable to join and Bart's wording here is ominous in that they won't let him leave until he has control of his powers. If this is like his comics, that would have been never. He's still trapped in VR, timeline being a little different, maybe he doesn't have the speed aging going on in this version. Bart never was rescued and he's still in VR.
All in all a delightful take on Bart but it still leaves a lot of questions open and I am sad we never got more out of this. This little comic is like a little love letter to Bart and I 10/10 recommend reading.

Maybe I'm being a bit nit-picky but I guess it as kinda odd Ahsoka is constantly getting more and more powerful whenever the plot demands it. The most recent one being able to see the past from the starman. I forgot the exact name of the ability but it was introduced as not only something very rare but also being a burden on the users. I wouldn't really mind Ahsoka being super powerful, but I wish we got more build up because otherwise it's just very Mary Sue-ish. And really I hope they didn't neglect Ezra's character and abilities in favor of making Ahsoka the Most Powerful™.
I think you're talking about psychometry and how it feels like Ahsoka's starting to be able to use that power. Previous characters who have had it are most notably Quinlan Vos and Cal Kestis, and yeah, generally it's considered a power that only a very few are sort-of born with and it's a skill that can be very painful if not honed. Ahsoka has never EVER been one of those characters who has had psychometry, either in TCW or in Rebels.
It's hard to tell whether the show is going for her using psychometry specifically or if they're just... really stretching what regular Force users can do. Because we know that they CAN pick up impressions from things, strong emotions and the like. Anakin and Ahsoka can feel the pain and screams of the people who died during the Temple bombing, for example. But what she does on the show, where she's able to pick up a specific image/memory by touching something, might've been super useful in that particular moment and she doesn't use it at all.
As far as I know, psychometry isn't a skill one can just "learn" if they get strong enough, you're either born with it or you aren't. But I would've said the same has always been true for Force sensitivity in general - you're either born with it or you aren't - and this show has already chosen to throw THAT out the window with Sabine (and possibly Hera, too) so the idea that they might be willing to decide psychometry is a thing someone can just learn isn't exactly outside the realm of possibility here. They haven't CALLED it psychometry on the show yet, but that doesn't mean that it isn't fairly obviously doing the exact same thing that we all know to be psychometry if you're familiar with the skill via Quinlan's stories or the recent video games with Cal.
Ahsoka HAS been dictated as very powerful from very early on, in fairness. There's an episode where Anakin notes in front of the Council that she's "advanced for her age" and they make a big deal out of how she's pretty young to be assigned as a padawan. So she IS supposed to be more powerful than the norm, usually, but psychometry is such a specific skill to have and at no point in any of her other appearances has she ever shown the ability to use it in the way she's been doing on this show.
I don't think that's nit-picky at all, personally, but I'm told that I'm a fairly nit-picky person, so what do I know. It does frustrate me, too, that this show is playing fast and loose with Star Wars worldbuilding just to suit Ahsoka's storyline. Sabine being a Jedi, the butchering of the Rebels characters, Ahsoka's overpowered qualities, etc. All of it is done so that they can tell a very specific story for Ahsoka without any care to how it breaks previously established lore and plot points.
It's one of the things I like the LEAST about this show and that's saying something because there's a LOT that I dislike very much about this show.

As someone who has only played portal
Instead of lore from half life expanding on portal what portal lore expands half life's story?
ooh great question!
so first of all, Portal 1 establishes that Aperture Science is the industry rival to Black Mesa, the weapons/research company that the protagonist of Half-Life works for. we know this because some time after Chell breaks free from the test rooms, she comes across an office room with a projector that has a bunch of slides about how poorly they're performing against Black Mesa
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so, Black Mesa isn't the only super-mega scifi technology company operating in the US right now -- and actually, one of the things Black Mesa was researching was teleportation and portal technology! their study into this, in fact, part of what caused the "Black Mesa Incident" which let a bunch of nasty extradimensional fauna & eventually an invading alien empire into our world through portals.
interestingly, it seems Aperture Science mastered safe portal technology far before the Black Mesa Incident (which happened in the late 90s/early 2000s), because the old Aperture section in Portal 2 (after "The Fall") shows their tests using portals all the way back to the 50s. so whilst Aperture was terribly managed & performed horribly against their lead competitor, some of the tech was actually really impressive and especially far ahead of their time.
secondly, Half-Life 2 Episode Two alludes to an Aperture Science project -- a mysterious research ship called The Borealis, supposedly carrying some kind of technology and/or super-weapon that could totally turn the tide in the revolution against the Combine occupation of Earth. The ship went missing suddenly years ago, maybe because this technology went wrong, and nobody knew what happened to it other than it fully disappeared taking part of the dry dock with it. It is seemingly found in Episode Two by the resistance -- in the middle of the fucking arctic.
Tumblr media
so we know a couple things from this: one, the Combine even with their vastly superior power & technology are afraid of whatever is on this ship getting into the hands of the resistance, and two, that they ALSO want the technology for themselves, and it could turn the war in THEIR favour too -- from this we can deduce it's some kind of long range portal/teleportation technology, possibly between dimensions, which would enable a full force scale attack from the Combine (who, so far, have invaded opportunistically through the Black Mesa Incident's portal storm).
i know all of this is from Half-Life and you asked the reverse, bear with me, it links back around here: you can VISIT this dry dock that supposedly held the Borealis, in Portal 2! like it's a hidden room in one of the old Aperture levels, look!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the ship is gone, but a lifering reading BOREALIS remains to let us know what was going on here.
another thing is that in the boss battle in Portal 1, if you listen carefully to all of GLaDOS' bonus dialogue, she actually makes a couple of references to what's going on in the world outside Aperture:
youtube
transcript:
Are you trying to escape? [manic electronic giggle] Things have changed since the last time you left the building. What's going on out there will make you wish you were back in here. I have an infinite capacity for knowledge, and even I'm not sure what's going on outside. All I know is I'm the only thing standing between us and them. Well, I was. Unless you have a plan for building some supercomputer parts in a big hurry, this place isn't going to be safe much longer.
transcript end.
this is interesting, because whilst she could be lying, we do know there's a lot of truth to some of the things she's describing. there HAS been a lot of change, there IS a terribly terrifying force out there, and they ARE interested in Aperture Science, so, she's actually probably telling the truth here. we never see any headcrab zombies or fascist militia in Portal or Portal 2, so it seems like GLaDOS is doing a damn good job keeping them out. that being said, it seems that by Half-Life 2 (which is probably set between Portal 1 and 2) there might not be many people in America left, seemingly they were all moved from there to repurposed eastern european cities after some kind of cataclysm in the seven hour war. so maybe the Combine don't have much of a presence in america by Portal 2, because they no longer have any people (that they know of) to control in north america. but Half-Life Alyx implies there might not even be an America left so??? who knows.
the other things we learn are mostly that, for a while, Aperture Science was performing second best after Black Mesa but that dropped off closer and closer to the 80s & 90s as Cave Johnson lost control of his goddamn shitty company. he also has an incredibly low opinion of them, probably because they are much better respected than him.
interestingly, in the Portal 2 DLC (the community-made levels one, not the art therapy one) we get to see a bunch of alternate universe versions of Aperture Science (the premise is Aperture is stealing test chambers from alternate versions of themselves, and thus you hear narration from alternate Cave Johnsons who didn't die and kept running Aperture for many years. it's very fun). one of these alternate Caves mentions buying out Black Mesa, merging it with Aperture Science, and immediately ending their testing into exotic materials because he thinks it's just begging to cause a resonance cascade. and he's right! that's exactly what does happen in Half-Life 1, so interestingly, he actually is the sole person to prevent the Combine invasion in that universe.
that's basically all i got! that's all the ways Portal and Portal 2 makes commentary & reference to Half-Life i think???

Is CC3 bad? I’ve heard it’s not very good at all
It all depends on perspective of who is reading, I believe. I would say that if you loved HOSAB and HOEAB, there's a chance you could genuinely like HOFAS too. But my objective opinion is that the book is not great and falls short on many points
Some more spoilers and the TLDR below.
The first half of this book drags. Sure, there are things happening, but my general impression reading is that it was slow-paced, dragging, and rather awkward. We get some gratuitous torture porn to see how sadistic Pollux and the Hawk are, the Frat Boys are going around and want to get Ruhn out. In all fairness, having so many PoVs and where they cut was sometimes a problem to me: something exciting was about to happen, then cut to a section which was comparatively boring and then more pages until I got my resolution.
The Crossover is CRIMINAL. Anon, I'm a lore girl at heart. I was super looking forward to what it would reveal of Prythian's past, of what happened to Fionn, Theia, the Daglan. Nesta and Azriel are easily the highlight of it, their interactions where the breath of fresh air in what was otherwise a slog to get through. The Crossover is one single HUGE loredump and you know what's more? By the end of it you ask "And this needed to be a Crossover why exactly?".
There's nothing there that couldn't be learned from the Midgard or the Prythian. I kinda think SJMs ran into a corner by ending HOSAB as she did. It feels as though the crossover was meant to be bigger, but it fell flat, and she had to course-correct. To be honest, it was a bit of a chore to get through these parts.
Bryce is also a personal problem to me because I cannot just connect with her. I would have liked much better if more of her human side was explored, rather than the fae, as the humans are the most oppressed and have it worst here. I don't know, her desire for change and everything feels shallow. Hollow. As if she would never have gone down this path had Danika not died — and I could accept that, if I thought it wasn't framed for me to think of her as heroic and not a hypocrite. There IS such a thing as too much girlboss.
Ruhn and Lidia are the highlight of this book for me. I love them in HOSAB, I love them in this one despite some things coming right out of left field lol. Still! Definitely the two characters I enjoyed most.
I know Sarah wanted to try to tackle some big social issues but look. Would you get if I say that the girlboss slips into it? The way she handles these topics, the tone of them, doesn't land right for me. Someone shouting words of change and order, but look a little more closely, dig a little, question, and it's just superficial. In your face, with not the appropriate nuance. Bryce's general attitude does not help.
Oh and there's one hell of a cliche in the end that had me ROLLING MY EYES. Unnecessary. The resolution also feels rushed to me and there are things that I just stared blankly at the book "Is this for real?". Once again, I think she raised the stakes waaaaay too high and the resolution doesn't match them, the same issue I had acowar.
All in all, this book was a let down from HOSAB.

Hey there! Been following you for a bit. I was actually just wondering, who's your favorite kirby character? I assume it's Magolor because of all the art of him, but I'm still curious to know!
Hi there :D Thank you for following me ^^
To answer your question, as you guessed it yourself, of course Magolor is my favorite Kirby character, but for a long time, he wasn't!!
To go more into details, my first Kirby game was Super Star Ultra, and ever since I played it, Marx was my first and only favorite character for a whiiiileee~. I eventually put Kirby aside while growing up, up until Smash Ultimate came out and it piqued my curiosity. Of course you can imagine how delighted I was when I discovered while playing the Adventure Mode that Marx was in the game as a boss!! I played Kirby's Classic Mode for hours just to see my favorite jester ^^ So it's during that year of end of 2018/2019 that I my interest for Kirby came back, I mostly played the NSO original Super Star game just for Milky Way Wishes, but also Star Allies demo and a lot of Super Kirby Clash. And who appears as a shopkeeper in this game?? Right! Magolor! But I had no idea who he was at the time, so my first impression of him was just of a microtransaction shopkeeper lmao. Now comes the year of 2020. I was a little bit more acquainted with the world of Kirby but also not as much lol And what did I found on the day of my birthday this year?? Kirby Star Allies at 50% off in my local tunisian game store lmao So ofc I immediately bought the game and finished it really quickly :/ Well tbh I was even more confused after playing the full version, and I made the mistake of watching Kirby animations on YouTube which made everything worse!! I was completely lost about Magolor's character at this point! Then at the end of 2020, a french Youtuber that I know specialized on making video games theory videos, started a series of analyzing Kirby lore AND THAT WAS IT FOR ME!! I had no clue how complex Kirby lore was and decided to put his videos on hold and actually play all of the main Kirby games! I was especially hooked on the ancients lore, so which game first talked about them? That's right baby it’s Kirby's Return to Dreamland :DDD Anddd you could say the rest is history :) But yeah starting from this game I felt in love with Magolor and he quickly became my number one fav Kirby character ^^
If you made it this far, thank you for reading all of this, sorry I tend to ramble a lot, but at least it helps you know me a bit better ig?
And if you dont wanna read all of this, I think this can sum it up for ya hehe

Hey Lumi! I've been loving your Bo-Katan commentary and have appreciated the way you make connections to previous content from Clone Wars and Rebels, pointing out lots of things I would have missed otherwise! So I hope you don't mind a lore question. Has Bo-Katan ever been referred to as a "princess" before this episode? I was confused when she said that, since Satine was a Duchess, and I hadn't ever gotten the impression that Mandalore was a strict hereditary monarchy, but that the houses would rise and fall. I got nothing from reading Wookiepedia so I'm hoping you can shed some light!
Hi! Thank you, I'm glad the Bo-Katan commentary has been entertaining! I have to admit, I've fallen back in love with Mean Wife, she is so mean and so great! Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to help much with the Mandalorian stuff because there's really not a lot about it in canon. Legends probably covered a bunch of stuff, but The Mandalorian is not part of the Legends continuity, so who knows what Favreau is going to do with this. I'm not sure we really know how Mandalore's royalty situation worked out, why Satine was Duchess instead of Queen, if there's a functional difference, if it's one of those situations like where Padme was Queen of Naboo, but it was an elected position, that maybe terms don't mean the same thing in Star Wars as they do in our universe, and "Duchess" means "Queen" to them, etc. All of that is speculation! I did get the impression that Satine's position was hereditary because she came into that position when she was very young, given the age she and Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon were on the run, but if she'd been elected, she wouldn't still be Duchess and she probably would have been more popular at that time. But also because House Kryze was established as a thing (like House Vizsla) in TCW, which is hereditary as well, if we're going by how long House Vizsla has history all the way back to at least Tarre Vizsla. But a lot of that is based on the vibes I got from how characters acted and how there was nothing mentioned of rises and falls or elections, like Pre Vizsla didn't become the Duke of Mandalore, instead it fell to the Prime Minister that he was puppet mastering, despite that Pre was from House Vizsla, which has a long, long history with Mandalore. So, the "Princess" line threw me, but I'm just assuming that, yeah, the Kryze family was royalty and that we're not meant to take "Princess" super literally in a 1:1 relation to our own world or that maybe she was Princess of Kalevala, but Duchess/Duke was a separate role that a person from House Kryze inherited. (And should have passed to Bo-Katan on Satine's death, but the political upheaval on Mandalore was too chaotic and they weren't willing to rally around Bo-Katan at the time.) Really, though, it's impossible to say, we don't know nearly enough about canon to say what the term "Princess" means or if Favreau doesn't care and just threw it in there because it sounded good. Never underestimate the power of something sounding good. XD

Hi, I recently read your post about the Tri/Nero kids and it was very interesting and I was wondering if it would be okay if I asked you about you headcanons/aus/lore about the Tri/Nero: Poseidon kid, Hephaestus kid and Cassius?? If that's not too much to ask about, no problem if it is.
[Post being referenced]
Of course! I'm hoping to eventually feature all these guys on @deadangelos, but it'd definitely be a ways away (cause there's gonna be like, at least 4 more major arcs before we get to Tower of Nero stuff there) and I don't know how much detail I'll be able to get into with these guys when I do get to start featuring them.
Anyways, just going in order:
The one labeled Poseidon I imagine is a particularly powerful son of Thetis, cause Nero probably wouldn't be able to get his hands on an actual Poseidon kid. He's probably like 10 or 11 or something - one of the younger Nero kids. As a Thetis kid he as mild hydrokinesis powers - probably not nearly as much as someone like Percy, but definitely enough to be impressive. He also might have the Curse of Achilles, just cause I think it's fun if that's a super common thing for Thetis kids. It's just Thetis' default - dunk your newborns in the Styx for extra security. Out of the Nero kids, he's probably closest to the one labeled Artemis (cause moon & tides) and is like, one of two of the Nero kids who is able to calm her down at all or that she's willing to hang out with much (the other being the Apollo kid). That's his big sis and she would probably kill and maim for him lots and lots.
Hephaestus kid is probably an actual Hephaestus kid, and one of the oldest Nero kids. He's definitely bffs with the Aphrodite kid and Nero just goes "Thematically appropriate! Continue as you were." I imagine Nero mostly leaves him alone/very intentionally pays him little mind and just kind of holes him up in his own little section of the building and the Heph kid is A-Okay With That. The less attention from Nero, the better. He probably narrowly avoided Nero considering throwing him off a building for mythological accuracy. Because he has a bit more freedom than some of the other Nero kids he definitely uses that to prepare machinations and is only like, one or two steps away from staging a coup at any moment (which is also definitely at least a little mythologically inspired - he dreams of getting Nero ensnared in his own throne and convincing all the kids to beat him up). He cares a lot about the other Nero kids and wants to help keep them safe.
Cassius i find very interesting cause I have two different directions I'll go with him - the first is that he's an actual son of Zeus and kind of marks the beginning of Big 3 kids being a semi-regular occurrence again, and no one knows who is mortal parent was. The second concept is that he's not only an actual son of Zeus, but also actually a third Grace sibling, because the entire thing with the Nero kids is that Nero stages their mortal parent(s)' deaths as accidents, which is perfectly in line with how we know Beryl Grace died (and it chronologically works with when we know Beryl Grace died). Plus, Apollo very consistently compares Cassius visually to Jason. Thalia and the quest of "wait how many long lost brothers do I actually have?" Anyways Cassius is just a little guy. Babey. I like to base him thematically around myths of infant/adolescent Zeus, cause that's severely underutilized territory. He's close to Meg and I think he also wants to be friends with the kid labeled Hera but she hates his guts cause Nero keeps trying to encourage them to be a duo but she just wants to do her own thing. He's probably also just generally on good terms with most of the Nero kids (he is babey how can you hate babey. Hera kid only hates babey because she is equally babey), particularly the other "Kronos kids" (besides Hera kid) (Hestia kid, Meg, Poseidon kid).

Viego: Pt 1
League of Legends | Viego x F!Reader
Chapters: Prologue | Viego: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4
Crossposted on AO3 here
SFW
Decided to break this up into parts because Tumblr is a Super Functional Website, but you can read the full thing on AO3.
Tumblr media
Summary: Turns out that Runeterra isn't the only place that has a Void. Plucked from your world into one of a video game with nothing but stolen time powers, an inability to die and a middling recollection of lore, you're prepared to do just about anything to get back home again. You just have to find the right Champion to help.
Tumblr media
Viego is handsome even with his face frozen in a rictus of rage and despair, you'll give him that much. You can fault Vex for a lot of things, but her taste in faces wasn't one of them. That being said, you're pretty sure the only reason she told you where to find him was so you'd leave her alone, so whatever crush she had on him was clearly skin-deep. Still, you were lucky to run into the edgy little yortle–navigating the shadow isles wasn't exactly easy. The mist was still thick, the dead still restless, and the castle itself still a mess of floating broken ruins. You could've been here for weeks before you found him. Not like you don't have the time, though.
The mist is warm when you lower your hand to Viego’s face, and it hums on your skin in a way that vaguely unnerves you. You wind his past around your fingers and twist, rewinding his months of imprisonment until you reach the moment of his defeat. Then, ever so carefully, you creep his time back and watch the mist creeps down his face, to his shoulders and torso. You freeze it there, just free enough for him to speak, and he looks tiredly up at you.
“Are you here to kill me?” He croaks.
“No,” you answer honestly.
He closes his eyes. “How disappointing.”
Your purse your lips, suddenly uncertain. You suppose that answered that question–you weren't sure if he was actually awake in the mist this whole time. He must have been, if he's not still raging and wailing from watching his wife die before his eyes again. You'd been expecting him to try and kill you, to yell and scream and generally just lose his shit. You'd been planning to exploit that for your benefit. This, the utter defeat in his voice, you weren't prepared for. “I'm here because I need your help,” you say, trying to project confidence into your voice. “I’m not from this world. I need to find a way to get home, to get safe passage through the Void to worlds beyond Runeterra.”
He slowly opens his eyes to half-lidded, looking up at you dispassionately. “So you came to me?” He gives his still-frozen body a derisive look, skepticism dripping from his every word.
“You scoured the world for anything that would bring your wife back, I figured you might've found something,” you explain evenly. “That, and all my other leads either couldn't help or wanted to kill me, so I'm running out of options.”
He doesn't look impressed. You sigh. “Look, if you help me, I can help you.” And here you pause, because you know what you're about to offer isn't yours to give, but goddamnit, you just want to go home. “I know what you want, and I can give you it.”
His eyes widen slightly, and for a moment he looks heart wrenchingly hopeful, and you think for one glorious moment that you've got him. Then his expression shutters, and his mouth pulls into a thin line of grief. “I suppose you're offering to give me Isolde, then?”
You pause, but after a moment hesitantly nod. This wasn't what you were expecting. He was supposed to be obsessed, wasn't he? You thought he'd leap at your offer, but he just looks…tired. Like you're ripping open an old wound and he's sick of hurting–not offering him everything he's ever wanted on a silver fucking platter like you are. “Whole. Alive. Exactly as she was before she died.” You say, trying to impress upon him that you're offering exactly what he wants.
He snorts bitterly. “She is gone, specter, dead in the truest of ways.” His tone is mournful as he casts his eyes up, through the broken ceiling to the mists swirling overhead. “I cannot feel her in this world no longer.”
He's not listening. You guess you just have to prove it. You reach out and touch your fingers to his forehead, and in your hands you twist the past until centuries fold beneath your fingertips. The sun and moon flit overhead as you rewind, the walls rebuilding themselves from the onslaught of time and decay. He gasps, then chokes, as all at once he is human again, and you stand in the living past of his dead kingdom. There is an echo of the Void in your voice when you say, “Time is mine to command, Ruined King. She may be gone, but I can bring her back, just as she was the day before the poison touched her.”
Viego looks up at you, utterly human and trembling, and you decide your point has been made. The present pushes harshly back against your manipulations, and you let it snap back to it's rightful place with a wave of your hand. Viego is once again a broken thing bound to the floor of his ruined homeland, and he…begins to laugh. It is most assuredly not a happy sound–rather, it's as if he's about to transition into sobbing any second. “Cruel fate,” he moans, and you realize as he looks up to the heavens that he is indeed crying; slick black tears as thick as oil which wisp into mist at the edges, sure, but tears nonetheless. “The one my heart most desires detests me, rejects me in favor of the oblivion I laboured to free her from, and you offer her to me once more?”
You shift uncomfortably, only to lurch as you realize you're swaying on your feet. That little demonstration took more out of you than you thought–time wasn't as malleable here as it was in the Void, and bringing so much back from so long ago was more difficult than anything else you've done since you got here. Viego is still wailing and moaning almost incoherently, and you really don't want to pass out in front of him. “Give it a think,” you say as casually as you can manage. “I'll be back.”
And with that, you walk away with measured steps that hopefully disguise how unsteady you feel, physically and otherwise.
---
You're not sure how long you're out for, but Viego seems to have composed himself by the time you come back. At least a day, maybe two, but it's hard to keep track of time when you can't see the sun. He regards you evenly as you approach, and before you can speak he announces “I decline.”
You blanch. “You what?”
“I. Decline.” He says purposefully.
Shit. You hadn't planned for this. He was your last concrete lead, everything after him was a shot in the dark. “Why? Don't you want your wife back?” You ask, baffled and more than a little panicked.
He closes his eyes as if your words pain him. “More than you can possibly imagine. But Isolde…it is time for her to rest. I see that now.” When he opens his eyes they stay low, gazing down into the weeping hole in his chest. “I thought that she would love me no matter what became of me, as I did her, but I was wrong. I thought that we could be happy together, if only I could find a way to bring her to my side once more.” His tone is mournful, but when he looks up at you his gaze is no less resolute for the pain in them. “My Queen has made her decision. I will not cause her more pain than I already have.”
You blink, desperately searching his expression for a crack, for some indication that he's just putting up a brave face. Then you sigh deeply, and practically collapse onto the cold stone floor. You may as well– no point pretending to have it together anymore. “God, the first time you exhibit a fucking iota of self-awareness just had to be when I was relying on you being a selfish prick, didn't it?” You gripe, though you sound like you're on the brink of crying. The bastard just had to have time to self reflect, didn't he?
He has the gall to look offended. “I'm not so thick as to ignore condemnations from the person I hold dearest.”
You roll your eyes. “The first time you brought her back she stabbed you with your own sword, and then you decided to try doing it again. I would think she was pretty clear about her feelings on the matter the first time.”
He jerks back slightly, which is as far as his bonds will allow. “She…what? I don't…” he casts his eyes down, brow furrowed in thought. “Isolde was the one who killed me…?”
You give him a scrutinizing look, but he seems genuinely baffled. “You don't remember,” you realize, remembering that single line of text in his bio.
He shakes his head faintly. “I had wondered what could have shattered her soul so thoroughly,” he says, voice so soft you're not actually sure he's speaking to you. “My blade and those waters…so that is what happened.” He tilts his head back to look up at the black mist choking the sky, and laughs bitterly. “I truly do destroy everything I touch, don't I?”
You don't have a response to that. You wonder if you should leave, but summoning the strength for that seems like a Herculean task right now. Where should you go next, anyway? Track down more voidspawn? None of the Void's other servants you've found seemed amicable to helping you so far, and the Voidspawn themselves seem mostly concerned with trying to eat you. You hadn't found Ryze yet, but that was just hoping his poorly defined magic crystals somehow could help.
“Your home,” Viego says some time later, interrupting your thoughts. You'd almost forgotten he was there. “Where is it?”
You shrug one shoulder, your body feeling like one big dead weight. “Far. Beyond the stars and the Void, in a world where all of this is nothing but a story.” You wave your hand around you vaguely. It was the best way to describe ‘you were a video game character’ that didn't end with you covered in blood.
He's quiet for a moment. “In my study,” he says finally. “There are notes on the Void. I thought it might hold the answers to returning Isolde to me, but the toll it would take on her fragile soul would have been too great.”
You don't bother to hide your surprise when you look at him. “You…why?”
He sighs. “You speak as if you know me, which means you must know that I am…” his brow furrows. “What did you say? Ah, yes. A selfish prick. But Isolde…Isolde was kind, and selfless, and everything I am not. If I am to make my transgressions up to her, wherever she is now, then I should start by trying to be the kind of man she would have wanted me to be.”
You pause, considering him. He seems genuine, if no small amount grief stricken. “Hard to do that stuck in there,” you point out, testing the waters.
He shrugs as much as he is able. “I cannot say I blame them, the doll and the sentinel. I did kill them. I suppose this is as close as they could get to doing the same to me.”
You tilt your head, examining him closely. “What would you do, if I let you out of there?”
He looks at you warily, but seems to seriously consider the question. “I am…unsure,” he says slowly. “I have lived with but a single purpose for so long, I don't…”
“Vengeance?” You suggest. “Isolde is off the table, sure, but wreaking havoc on the world that dared to take her from you? Covering the continents in black mist and turning it into an unliving graveyard of cursed souls?”
He grimaces immediately. “No, that's not…she would not have wanted that.”
You stand, dusting off your clothes. “That's good enough for me.” You reach your hand out to him, and the Hallowed mist recedes into its needles, the thread falling limply from his wrists without Gwen to guide them. He slumps as it goes, as if he weren't prepared to hold his own weight up. He flexes his hands, and when he looks up at you he seems confused. You can't blame him. You're not even fully sure why you're doing this–just that leaving him here, trapped in this nightmarish stasis surrounded by the memory of everything he's lost, seems wrong.
That doesn't mean you fully trust him, though. “If I hear about you causing problems, I will find you,” you say casually. “I don't know if you can die, but I can stop time from ever passing for you again, and that's basically the same thing.” You glance at the needles still stuck in the stone. “You won't be awake, at least.”
He stands gingerly, and then nods grimly. “If I fail her again, I will be counting on it.”
---
You're expecting that to be it. That you'll go your separate ways, possibly until such a time he turns out to be fully crazy and you have to kill him. Instead, he shows up a week later while you're pouring through his notes. You only notice him because of the reflection in the dusty glass in the study's single intact window.
“You have shit note-taking skills, y'know that?” You say somewhat accusingly. “Beautiful handwriting, but shit note-taking.”
In the reflection, you see him he shrug casually where he's leaning against the doorway. “Academics were never my strong suit, ‘tis true.”
You turn around, holding out a sheaf of yellowed parchment and pointing to it accusingly. “What the fuck is this supposed to say, anyway?”
He leans forward, blinking at the offending word. Then he gives you a skeptical look. “Rest. It says, rest.”
You whip the page back to face you, squinting. “What? How is that an R? How is that an S?” You glance up at his skeptical expression, then flush. “Look, I wasn't taught cursive, gimme a break.” You toss the paper back on the desk. You're pretty sure it's useless to you. All of it is. “What're you still doing here, anyway?”
He gives you a blank look, as if he doesn't understand the question. “Where else would I go?”
You raise a brow. “I dunno, somewhere less miserable? What, are you planning to mope around here forever?”
He looks around as if you're referring to this specific room. “The idea has its appeal,” he says, almost to himself.
Somehow, the thought of him wandering around his ruined castle for eternity like some sort of kicked dog is both depressing and irritating to you. Like he's giving up, when you've been fighting so long and so hard the very idea revolts you. It has to–you don't have any other option. “Didn't you say you were going to try and be the kind of man Isolde wanted you to be?” You ask, probably a bit too sharply. He glances at you, surprised and a little on guard at your tone. “I can't claim to have known the woman, but somehow I doubt she wanted you to spend eternity in what is possibly the most depressing way anyone could spend eternity.”
He looks away, mouth a thin line. “I would not be so sure, after all the pain I caused her.” You open your mouth to argue, and then remember that she did kill him.
“Look, was she a spiteful person?” You try instead.
He recoils as if the thought offends him. “No, of course not.”
“Then she wouldn't want you to punish yourself like this,” you say.
His brow furrows, though you're not sure if it's in confusion or irritation. “And what would you know?”
You shrug one shoulder. “I am a spiteful person, and if you tried that shit on me I would've tried to kill you the second time too.”
“Ha!” Surprisingly, Viego laughs. It's a dry, self-depreciating sound closer to a bark than anything, but it is a laugh. “What am I to do, then? How can I possibly begin to undo what I have done?” His tone as a challenge, and you're about to snap back, but when you look in his eyes he just looks horribly, terribly lost. This is a man who has lost everything that meant anything to him, you realize, and he's desperately struggling to find his way back to the line. You've been there, and despite yourself, empathy tugs at you.
You let out a heavy sigh. “Look. Did she love you, before all of this? When you were alive?”
He opens his mouth, then pauses, brow scrunching. “When we were alive, yes, we were in love.” he finally says, his voice slow as if he's not entirely sure of his own words.
“Then she would've wanted what anyone wants for their loved ones after they've gone. She wanted you to find a way to be okay without her, to be happy without her.” Your voice is measured, with an edge of imploring. You weren't good at the whole conversation thing even before the Void happened, let alone during emotionally charged conversations.
He gives you a look that is all at once bitter, mournful, and as if you're suggesting something both impossible and idiotic. “There is no happiness for me without her.”
“You're like a broken record, y'know that?” You say archly. “Yes, she's gone, and I know how much that hurts, believe me, but that grief isn't all you are. You were happy before her, you can be again.”
He blinks oddly, a strange haze entering his eyes. “Before…Isolde?”
You nod slowly, suddenly unsure. “Yes. You were a prince before you two met, right? Nobility?” You pick up a random note and gesture at the fancy, curling script there. “You obviously had a lot of calligraphy lessons. Did you enjoy those?”
He stares at the paper as if he's never seen it before, then at you in apprehensive confusion. “I don't remember.”
You sigh, tossing the paper away. “You said you weren't very academic, so I suppose that makes sense.”
“Did I?” He murmurs, touching his mouth. “I don't…it seemed like it was true when I said it, but when I think back, there is nothing.” His hand travels to his cheekbone, and he frowns. “I recall that I look like my father, but I can't even remember his face, or why I know that to be true. Nor my mother, or anything of my childhood, my past…anything. Anything but Isolde.”
You blink. You thought he had just been obsessed with her because of love, but maybe it wasn't just that–if Isolde was all he remembered, all he had left, of course he would become fixated. If she was the last thing on his mind when he died, when he was trapped in that sword…you guess it wasn't a stretch, that she's the thought he would hold onto while everything else fell away over the centuries. “Dying really did a number on you, huh?” You muse.
His hand falls to the ragged hole in his chest. “The mist takes everything from those who are too weak to withstand it. Everything they are, everything they have ever been. I did not think I…” he trails off, and you both watch as plumes of mist roll from his broken heart to the floor, and he laughs bitterly. “But of course. How does one remember that they have forgotten something, when all reminders have been destroyed by their own hand? Why would I be spared the curse I created?” That seems like a rhetorical question, so you don't respond.
A long moment of silence passes, Viego deep in thought. It seems wrong to interrupt him, and you don't exactly have anywhere better to be right now. Eventually, he looks up at you, face creased with concentration. “I think,” he says slowly, “I enjoyed horseback riding, through the forests. I remember I wanted to take Isolde, but she did not know how to ride and horses scared her terribly, and I recall being very disappointed, so…I must have wanted to go. I must have enjoyed it, if I wanted to share it with her.” His voice gains certainty as he speaks, as he reasons out something so basic about himself from what little memories he has.
You make a decision, then and there. “Come with me,” you offer, except it comes out like you're telling him.
He blinks at the non-sequitor. “With you? To where?”
“You can go anywhere your mist goes, right?” He nods, confused, and you hold out your hand. “Gimme your sword, then follow me.”
“My sword?” He repeats, uncomprehending.
You wiggle your fingers at him impatiently. “This place is super depressing, Viego, and I've got a long list of places I'd rather be. So you can either let me borrow your sword, or you can stay here and be miserable. What'll it be?”
For a long moment he just stares at you. Then he gives a disbelieving little laugh, and raises his hand above yours. The blade materializes in it as if he were already holding it, before he drops it into your waiting palm. The moment it touches your skin, a strange flash of sensation travels up your arm, like dousing yourself in cool water. Your arm sinks with the sudden weight of it, but you manage to avoid dropping it. You grin at him, pleased. “Okay, now follow me,” you say, and rewind.
You pick a few months ago, when you were passing through a lush woodland. You pull yourself back to that time, then let the past push your intrusive presence back to the present where it belongs. Teleportation in two easy steps, if only to places you've already been.
For a long moment, you think Viego isn't coming. His sword is cold in your hand, thin sheets of mist dripping from it onto the grass, and by God is it heavy, so you stab it into the dirt. When you look up, Viego is there.
He looks around, brow furrowed. “Where are we?”
You shrug. “Somewhere in Ionia. I wasn't keeping track. I don't have any horses, and I somehow doubt they would tolerate you, but we can walk. See how you feel.”
He gives you a puzzled look. “Why are you doing this?”
You pause, and your voice is soft when you reply. “Because I know what it's like, to lose so much of yourself that a monster is the only thing you can be if you want to survive. And because I'm trying to find my way back to being the kind of person the people I love would want me to be, too.”
There's something unreadable in his eyes when he looks at you. Then, he draws his sword from the ground, and as it disappears into mist he begins to walk. Without a word, you follow. Somehow, leaving him alone seems cruel. For all that he's probably insane, he also strikes you as terribly, unbearably lonely.
He doesn't speak, and the silence begins to wear on you, so you do. You tell him about your world, how different it is, how you relied on machinery instead of magic. It's a dangerous game, feeling out the edges of what you're allowed to say, but it's also somehow freeing. To say you converse would be a stretch, but for all that his expression says that he thinks you might just be delusional, he seems intrigued by the world you describe. His questions are tinged with skepticism, especially when you get into trying to explain the Internet. You even get a laugh out of him as you offhandedly mention that your mystical worldwide library that contained the accumulated knowledge of your entire species was obviously largely used for disseminating pornography.
As night falls, for the first time, Viego comes to a stop and looks at you. His eyes are oddly bright in the dark, and his crown casts a dramatic glow over his face. He's looking at you like he can't quite make sense of you. “I do not know your name,” he finally says.
You guess you hadn't actually introduced yourself. As always, your real name rises to the tip of your tongue before you swallow it back. “You can call me Iso,” you say instead.
His lip quirks, and he gives you a very princely half bow, though his movements are slow as if he's following half-remembered steps. “Viego Santiarul Molach vol Kalah Heigaari, at your service.”
You laugh as he straightens up. “You can remember all that, but not whether you like calligraphy?”
“I did not like calligraphy,” he says decisively. “And my penmanship is middling at best. I suspect your standards are simply low.”
And then he vanishes.
“Bitch?” you say, disbelievingly, to the empty clearing

Clavell x GN!Reader (Sorta)
"May I Have A Word With You?"
A story where Clavell sees how well you are around the kids of the older academy goers.
You're like a cool older sibling/pibling (gender neutral for aunt or uncle) to them, and you're able to distract and calm them down when they come to the academy for special events/occasions. Some even remember you when they enroll later! Clavell admires someone who can make an impact like that.
Also why does this man not have any of his quotes on Bulbapedia that would've helped so much
Tone/Ending: Wholesome, Open-Ended
Warnings: The kids can be R O W D Y, and your expy almost swears once or twice, that is all
Continuity?: This story uses lore from/takes place at the same time as my previous full story ("Where The Heart Is"), but it doesn't need to be read as part of the same timeline to make sense
Word Count: A bit more than 4,000
-O-O-
"ALRIGHT, YOU RUG RAAAAATS!!"
Your voice could be heard from the gates of Mesagoza. The children in the courtyard abruptly stop their shenanigans. A young boy speaks up first, addressing you by name. They all seem to know you well enough to know your name and that you mean business, even if you are "the fun one" along with Dendra.
"Yes, Zale?"
"How much longer until the... the..."
A girl around his age speaks up.
"Treasures Within Fun Fair?"
He perks up.
"Yeah! That! How long until that starts again?"
You smile, although your eyes gave away the answer.
"Not for a while, I'm afraid. About 4 hours."
They all groan in unison. Another kid speaks up.
"Then why did Mama bring me so early?"
You answer.
"So you could be here on time?"
Another kid speaks up. If something crazy was happening, you could almost guarantee Geráneo was behind it. He crossed his arms.
"Yeah, but being on time like this is boooring! I'd rather run at super lightning speed to make it."
The other kids 'oooh'ed, although the girl from before, Auyama, looks positively confused.
"Super lightning speed?? How'd you get that fast?"
He was not at all perturbed by her question.
"My cousin caught a Zeraora back in Alola, I train with him whenever I visit."
The kids seemed impressed, clapping and 'oooh'ing again, even if one looked bewildered and said "Zera-who-a?" You... doubted his claim, although the speed with which he lied if he did lie... concerned you. You couldn't help but shake your head in amusement, however. You remember coming up with wild theories on how to find the mythical Mew roamimg around here in Paldea...
You decided to let them talk amongst themselves, all of them talking about weird Pokémon encounters they've had, including a Deerling that "turned to goo" near the Treasure Eatery, and a Slowpoke one of their brothers got really excited catching for some reason, even though it seemed to be a normal-old Slowpoke, just a little less pink. It amused you, both because of how much it sounded like yourself and because of how those truly special encounters weren't understood by them yet.
"Wild little goobers..." You say to yourself.
You idly imagined them going "WAIT A MINUTE" one day in a few years (probably after 3 seconds of Jacq's class) when you heard a familiar voice.
"Ah, yes, the imagination and curiosity of children knows no bounds!"
You turned to see him, the Director.
"Ah, Clavell!"
You smiled brightly at his sudden appearance.
He greeted you back.
You asked, "Oh, how's the fair comin' along?"
He hummed, looking up and to the side as if trying to remember what else needed to be done.
"Well, we still need to set up a bit more, especially things pertaining to our main events, but we are thankfully still on the right track. We should be done with time to spare."
He smiled, staring at you from the side with his arms behind his back. He really was proud of this academy. You couldn't help but grin as well.
"Aw F-"
Your eyes widen as you quickly realize what you were about to do, kids turning to look at you. Even Clavell seems shocked by your exclamation, turning to you, mouth slightly open.
"...ffffff... fuuuuuuueCOCO! Yeah! I remember seeing Nemona with hers. Has it evolved yet?"
Clavell, ever the gentleman, accepts your out.
"Why, yes, it did. It first evolved by the time she reached Levincia, I believe. It is now the strongest Skeledirge in Paldea."
You nodded. She really did have a Fuecoco at the start of her treasure hunt last time around. Only thing is, this was three years ago. You internally breathe a sigh of relief having remembered that, pretending you just didn't pay attention to her journey after she went at it again, even if the answer would be obvious even to the kids.
Clavell decides to corral the children while their attention is on you two.
"Alright, little ones. It is time we head back in for a while, we don't want you too tired to enjoy the festivities, do we?"
They all groan, not wanting the fun to end. He makes a compromise to soothe their boredom.
"When you go inside, you can help us decorate by making your own lanterns! I am certain all the teachers would love them. Besides, we could use some helping hands to finish setting up before the academy opens up to the rest of the town. You can be the first people to try our stalls."
This interested them greatly.
"Ooh, OOH! Mine's gonna shoot LIGHTNING!"
"Oh yeah, well mine's gonna be on FIRE, and it WON'T burn."
"Mine's gonna look ICY and FROSTY, it's gonna be so pretty!"
They all talked and ran into the entrance hall. You run up to Clavell to apologize for almost swearing in front of the kids, walking alongside him.
"Heyyy... uh... sorry for the, um, outburst."
He holds a hand up.
"Nonsense. You caught yourself before any damage was done. That alone is apology enough."
You thought on this. Maybe it really wasn't anything.
"But, do be more careful. You might not have another way to save yourself next time."
He looked at you out the corner of his eye, although you could tell he was smirking. He then hurried off to catch up with the children and get them settled, leaving you at the bottom of the steps before you could really process what the smirk meant.
-O-O-
Their parents and guardians all came by to have lunch with them. It had been an hour and a half of them making lanterns to hang up around each teacher's stands. The results so far were... interesting, to say the least, although it seemed like they changed their mind and instead went for a theme that requires working together somewhat.
One kid decided to dedicate theirs to Tyme, but they glued various flat and colorful rocks all over it, which would definitely weigh it down. Another dedicated theirs to Salvatore, writing "Hi!" in different languages, but they kept needing to scribble words out until they eventually started over and decided to look up the real spellings, so they were slightly behind the others.
One is trying to make Dendra's look like a punching glove, one added plastic sprinkles to theirs for Saguaro's cupcake lantern, one even drew themselves using the Pokédex app on Jacq's... all the teachers had a kid here that admired them the most, and that made you feel an overwhelming sense of pride.
You weren't a staff member, only coming by to help set up stuff like this by offering some extra hands, but you wondered if this place could use a daycare. It didn't seem necessary, seeing as though usually only students are here, but something along those lines, like a place for younger non-students to be all day during times like this, or even just a room to de-stress. Perhaps you can have a club started with games and social nights?
Your thoughts were interrupted by Clavell.
"Ah, there you are. I've been looking all over for you."
He comes in, looking around at the art supplies strewn about.
"Ah, I must make sure Mr. Hassel has help clearing this up later..." he said.
"I'm sure he will, Director."
You then remembered what he said when he came in.
"Oh! Is there a reason you were looking for me?"
"Ah, yes indeed! Follow me, we can talk on the way there."
'On the way there?' You thought.
-O-O-
He took you to a quiet, shaded area in Mesagoza. He had picked up a small bag in his office on the way, filled with who-knows-what. You sat on a bench nearby, patiently waiting for him to continue the conversation.
He had asked you a few questions, such as how you felt about the academy and if you'd ever consider working for it. You had said you loved the place, and you did wonder what it'd be like to help in a more official position than "lives nearby and is summoned to aid in official events". He seemed pleased with your answers.
As you sat, he brought out an academy branded thermos.
"Would you like some coffee? I know the little ones can be a handful at times..."
You nodded and accepted gratefully.
"I brought some sugar and creamer with me, use whatever you like, if you like of course..."
He handed you the bag before sitting back again.
"Er, speaking of the children..." He began. "How do you feel about them?
You paused. You hadn't really put much thought into it, sorta naturally ending up taking care of them instead of ever being assigned the role and, of course, wondering if you'd work well with them all day long. You guessed that was an answer, strangely enough.
"Oh, they're cool! I like watching over them, wild as they are. It's sorta nice seeing what the next generation does and talks about."
He smiled and nodded, adjusting the contents of his own thermos as he spoke.
"Ah, I had a feeling you'd say that. I can tell you have a knack for understanding and guiding them."
That... felt a little more sincere than you thought it'd be. Like, of course he wouldn't lie about that, but there seems to be an undercurrent of "this wasn't just small talk, I felt it in my heart" in the way he took your answer in.
He really does bare his heart and soul into this academy.
You idly wonder why he wasn't already the director when the brunt of the Team Star stuff was going on when he speaks up. He silently takes in your pondering expression, slightly tilting his head with a smile on his face.
"Ah, I see that question evoked some deeper thoughts than I anticipated."
You blink, suddenly aware of your surroundings again.
"Oh, yeah! It sorta did, hah."
The two of you idly chat for a while, conversation now skewing towards random goings-on, such as Paldea's youngest champion riding around on their 'Raidon', and the possibility of another school trip to a different region. You suddenly get a strange feeling in your gut.
"Wait, the event! Lunch will be over soon, won't it?"
He thinks, looking up at a park clock.
"Yes, it appears so."
He looks back at you, your alarmed expression still evident, although not nearly as strong as before.
"Are you worried about it? If so, do not worry, I have plenty of time to get back. The children's guardians will still be watching over them, so you have time as well."
These words helped a bit, but you felt the need to run back now. You didn't know why you suddenly feel the need to make it back to watch them. Call it a gut feeling. You just want to make sure they don't get into any mayhem while preparations are still ongoing, guardians there or not.
That felt weird to think about. Why wouldn't the parents watch them? You didn't need to worry, it's just that you aren't really used to not watching them before and during events at this point.
"Alright, Director. I'll be sure to not stress myself out too much."
He smiles and nods before standing up.
"Well, I must be on my way. Do take care, and no worries about that bag and thermos. Consider it a small gift for being such a good babysitter."
He flashed you a grin. You return it, although your mind wanders to something else as he makes his leave.
'Why did he already have this coffee made?'
You look up, but he had already sprinted off.
-O-O-
You were aimlessly wandering around Mesagoza.
'I DO deserve a break.' You thought to yourself.
You walked up to a vendor.
'I'm bored.' You immediately realized.
Walking up the stairs to get back to the academy, you noticed the kids surrounding a Skiddo.
"My mom said I need to learn to ride a Skiddo before I can get a Cyclizar."
Oh?
You get closer before realizing it's Geráneo.
"What she doesn't know is that I'm secretly a master Pokémon whisperer already."
A what?
The kid with him, Pimento, seemed equally confused.
"How do you know? What Pokémon do you know how to talk to?"
He huffed before responding.
"PSSH, like, all of 'em?? I have a natural talent. Watch this!"
He jumped on the back of Skiddo, who didn't do much other than make a small bleating noise and readjust itself afterwards.
"See?? He didn't even flinch!"
Pim seemed unsure.
"You sure? He flinched a little when you hopped on..."
Geráneo, seemingly offended by this, crossed his arms and glared menacingly at him.
"Um, of course he did?? I have too much muscle for him to handle."
Pim, still unconvinced, but wishing to just play with his friend, accepted this answer.
"Okay..."
You stood there, unsure if this was something you needed to intervene in or not. You looked around to see if anyone was already keeping an eye on the two when you heard a "c'mon!" followed by a Pokémon crying out. Turning back, Geráneo wasn't there anymore, and Auyama was screaming, pointing somewhere.
"GERÁNEO IS GOOOOOONE!!"
Oh Gods, this situation certainly needs an adult. You run over to Pim and Yama.
"WHAT HAPPENED??"
"Geráneo pulled Skiddo's horns too hard! He took off overrr... there!"
You turned, looking over to where they pointed. Skiddo was bucking around on the battle court with Geráneo hanging on for dear life.
All this in the .3 seconds you turned around??
"Ok, I'll get them!"
You ran down to calm the mon down, only for it to freak out and start running towards the outer walls of the city.
"Uh-Oh, that's no good..."
The Skiddo keeps running around the city.
"Does that Skiddo have an owner??"
Zale answers from above.
"Yeah! His aunt caught it for him! You want its Pokéball!?"
"Yes, please!"
You run over, positioning yourself so you can catch it when he tosses it over.
It lands in the flowerbed in front of you instead. Good enough.
"Thanks!"
You start to run after them when you realize... there's no way you'll catch up with a skittish Skiddo on foot.
The kids seemingly realize this as well.
Auyama offers something to make things easier for you.
"You wanna borrow my dad's Mudsdale?"
-O-O-
You're riding through the streets of Mesagoza. You'd have to ask why Mudsdale was in the possession of a 7-year-old later. For now, you were immensely grateful for any way to reach the troublemaker and his Skiddo.
"GERÁNEOOO?? GERÁNEO! IF YOU HEAR ME, SAY 'AYE'!"
It took a moment, but you heard an "Aaaaaaye!!" somewhere near Barato's.
'Goodness me...' You thought to yourself.
You felt awful for some reason, although you questioned why nobody was watching them before you came along. Shaking that thought off, you decided not to worry about the why and instead focus on the now. And right now, Skiddo was dangerously close to jumping over the wall and into even more danger.
"Don't worry! I'm here!"
You readied the Pokéball, aiming in their general direction. Skiddo seemed to not be close enough, as the light didn't return to the ball the way it would if something was caught in it.
'Darn'... you whisper before hearing him again.
"U-up here!"
You and Mudsdale look up, only to see the terrified duo... on top of a roof.
"WHAT IN THE-"
You looked over at a concerned guy nearby, who shrugged violently when he looked back down and noticed your bewildered expression.
'He must've climbed up on one of those ramps.' you thought to yourself. You had to act FAST, dismounting Mudsdale and giving her muzzle a few solid pats.
"Thank you."
The dire horse neighed gently, closing her eyes.
You ran over to the building they were on top of, surveying the situation. You had to think, would it be better to catch Skiddo now, or when you're up on the rooftop? If you get it now, Geráneo might fall. But if you get it on the rooftop, Skiddo might get spooked and go for the leap of fate instead.
You decide on the best course of action in your mind.
"Alright, Skiddo!"
They both turn towards you, faces full of fear.
"Skiddo, you don't wanna hurt him, do you?"
The poor thing was shaking, but it shook its head 'no'."
"Yeah, you just didn't like your horns being pulled, right?"
This time it nods.
You smile softly.
"Yeah, I know. I hate getting my bag caught on stuff all the time, I can't imagine getting a part of me pulled like that!"
The Skiddo's shaking, while still evident, calms slightly. Geráneo seems to feel bad.
"I know you just wanted the weird scary thing that pulled your horns off you. I promise he'll be gentle from now on, but I have to call you back into your Pokéball real quick, Ok?"
Skiddo nodded, gently lowering itself to the ground and allowing Gerá to get off it.
"Ok, here we go!"
You recall the creature, who seems content. Geráneo looks kind of shaken up still, now on his knees.
"Ok, n-n-now what?"
You give him a sympathetic smile.
Wait right there, I'll be up in a second!
You make your way up on the rooftop to meet him. You pause, taking in his fearful little shivers. You felt bad for the kid, all things considered. Maybe he just wanted to prove himself somehow? But he really shouldn't have pulled on Skiddo's horns like that. You'd have to have a gentle conversation with him later on, when tensions weren't so high.
"Geráneo! I'm here for you, bud."
He's shaking. You now notice the tears in his eyes.
"B-but I'm s-s-scared! I don't wanna be up so h-high!"
"I know, but..."
You step closer.
"I'm here. And no matter how wild things get, I'll be there with you. Cause life's kinda crazy sometimes. But you gotta be good, because you don't want things to be even crazier when they don't need to be, right?"
He takes this in before running over and hugging you, tears finally falling.
"I didn't mean to hurt Skiddo!" He trembles in your arms. "I-I just wanted to be cool and get a Cyclizar someday! I didn't know pulling his horns would scare and h-hurt him!"
You pat his head, letting him cry it out.
"Yeah, sometimes people forget other living things feel stuff just like you and me, even Pokémon! Tough as they are. But now that you know, you promise not to be so rough with him anymore?"
"Yeeeees!" He cries, looking up at you.
You smile.
"Good. At this rate, you'll have a Cyclizar in no time!"
He seems to pause at this before backing away a little, wiping his face.
"No, I... think I wanna stick with Skiddo. He'll be my partner 'till the end! He'll even be on my champion team one day!"
He raises his arms at this. He seems to feel better now, imagining a future with his beloved mount Pokémon.
You grin, not even realizing it with how happy you were at this unexpected development. Something about him realizing he didn't need what he saw as the 'cooler' Pokémon anymore and coming to appreciate Skiddo on its own made your heart feel warm.
"Well then, don't you wanna say sorry to your partner on solid ground?"
He looked confused for a second before remembering you two were on a rooftop, throwing himself at you in a tight embrace.
"OH CRUD, YEAH!"
You snicker before helping the kid down. You decide to tell nobody what he said. He can use bad language this one time.
-O-O-
"So, yeah. I... I'm sorry."
He had his head down, but his tone was sincere.
Skiddo happily jumped around at this, seemingly accepting his apology.
"Oh! Would you like to be my partner from now on? If you still wanna be friends with me, of course."
Skiddo stops his jumping before looking over at Gerá. At first, the boy wasn't sure what to expect until the mon happily rubbed its face on his arm, as if saying yes.
Gerá's eyes tear up.
"Thank you, Skiddo! I promise we'll be the best team Paldea's ever seen!"
He crouches and hugs his Pokémon. You watch the sweet moment play out with pride.
'I did that' you think to yourself, excited to watch Geráneo grow with his buddy now that he saw him for him.
The serenity of the moment is abruptly shattered upon hearing a man's voice shout your name.
"MOTHER FU-"
You look down at the kiddo and his Skiddo, both looking at you. You decide to try and save the moment again.
"Oh mother, far far away, is where I met my dear f-friend."
You grin, a pained expression on your face. The sentence didn't make the most sense, but they didn't question it (probably because the lack of provocation confused them more than the sentence itself.)
The man leans in, whispering with a wry smile on his face.
"Nice save."
His voice was laced with sarcasm, but you weren't going to tell him off for it.
"Ah, Director Clavell! I didn't notice you there!"
You really had to ask him how he got so fast. Nobody was around you a minute ago.
'Did he train with Zeraora?' You think to yourself, an amused smile on your face before he continues.
"Yes, I can tell. But that is besides the point. If you have the time, may I have a word with you? It's very important."
Your heart sunk.
Would he ban you from the school? You tried to remember the exact sequence of events so you could defend yourself, but in order to seem chill, you respond immediately.
"Yes, of course. I'm free right now."
Certainly more formal than you intended. Your face looked very serious, but more like a 'the principle came into the room while I'm teaching and I just got done reprimanding someone way-too harshly, I need to seem calm' sorta schooled expression. But that really wasn't the situation at all. You were worried regardless, however, even if he didn't seem to imply it was urgent, just important.
Either way, you followed the man up the stairs and into the academy.
-O-O-
"So, I heard from the other children that you had to find Geráneo after he took off on his Skiddo, correct?"
You nod, body tense, one leg over the other. He had pulled another chair out for you in his office. Hands in your lap and back straight as a board as you contained your fear, he replies.
"Ah, thank you for the confirmation."
You hesitantly nod.
"Well, I'd say you did a fantastic job of taking control of the situation."
You...
...what?
"Huh?" You say, genuinely confused (but relieved).
"Yes, you were caught off guard, yet you took off and saved the day regardless. That instinct to protect the children, coupled with the know-how to deescalate things so efficiently is an amazing trait to have."
You took his words in, but each individual word seemed to whizz by too fast to process correctly, especially as a whole. He continued, not noticing your befuddlement.
"Not to mention, Master Geráneo and his relationship with Skiddo seemed to exit the situation in a far better state than when he entered it. That ability to change the lives of those around you in such a profound way warms my heart."
He smiles, eyes full of admiration.
You look at him, taking in the situation with a gulp.
He had no reason to blame you, sure, but a part of you was afraid he'd let you take the fall in the parent's eyes, even if it made no sense both with context and in knowing him somewhat personally by now.
"Oh, s-so... we good?"
He blinked, sitting up straight.
"Ah, yes, we are certainly good. Better than ever, even. That leads me to a question I have, actually."
You sat, wondering what it'd be.
"Would you like to start a program here at the academy? One where you're here to spend personal time with our students and visitors specifically? Not quite a counselor, but someone who does fun stuff for them to look forward to whenever they need to unwind. It could be a group, perhaps? Maybe you can even act as an event planner, too?"
He waited for your response. This is exactly what you wanted, your mind already swimming with ideas on how you'd decorate your room, the types of activities you'd have for them whenever your club's held, the school tours hyping the academy up, the ability to talk to them personally or even let them vent in case they needed a listening ear--
"I am IN!"
That came out far more enthusiastic than you intended.
"Fantastic! Hopefully we can talk more later."
He gets up, face now serious in a somewhat disappointed fashion. He shakes his head.
"For now though, I must ask Geráneo's parents just what they were thinking, leaving him so excited with his Skiddo when no responsible party was around or made aware of the situation."
He walked around his desk, but not before stopping and putting a hand on your shoulder.
"Oh, and uh... I do hope you don't mind, but I would very much like it if we could chat... outside of preparations for your new position sometime."
Your stomach did a flip. His eyes looked fearful, a clear departure from his usual confidence, at least around you. You heard stories of his usual sweet yet dorky nature. Heck, you even saw it yourself before you got to know each other better.
"Anyway, I shall take my leave. Goodbye."
And with that, he took off.
Strange... he usually addresses you when leaving.
"That coffee thing makes so much sense now." You say to yourself, realizing he put a bit more thought into your impromptu chat than you thought he did.
-O-O-
A/N
This one was hard to write! I sometimes use Bulbapedia quotes to see what they talk like (such as the way they address people or to remind myself of their quirks while speaking), but THIS MAN HAS NONE??? I remember he was sort of formal, but also very kind and always meant well even if he seemed sorta suspicious in the trailers. Not to mention, he's a MASSIVE DORK??? I also like the idea of him being a bit awkward in general, but sorta flirty/teasing with people he fancies when first getting to know them, so yeah! He'll be his usually goofy self later when he gets to know this expy more. Call this Headcanon Clav if you like!
This accidentally came out SUPER open-ended, BUT, the focus was on how good you are with these kids, plus Clavell was sporadically busy anyway so yeah, worked out. Consider this the start of something more. Also the references (including the plant/plant-inspired names I gave all the named kids) were absolutely intentional
Accidentally grew fond of these goobers HELP, might draw them and Geráneo with his Skiddo someday
Purposefully didn't mention Hassel or Miriam in the little lantern scene so it'd be natural to leave if Raifort's still here or not vague cause 🤨
Expy needs to watch their profanity frfr, lmao

who are ur fav blogs?
Well hello there! Thanks for asking
On Tumblr, I mainly follow DL-related blogs because I'm only active in this fandom. So here goes a long list of mentions:
@ausd - Go check their work. Please. I'm not good at praising people but their art is a gem - the way they portray the diaboys, Yui, their facial expressions, the jawlines-
@besnella - My fellow ENTJ queen👑. You're incredible. Extremely kind, supportive, motivating and whenever you will mention Marion, I'll be on cloud nine. I hope my second OC and Aleksi will raise hell together. I didn't ask for it yet, but I want some music recommandations from you in the future.
@diabolicalvixen - Someone I've been silently following for a while now (online, not irl, calm down fbi guy-). I fell in love with your art work and the way you portray Ayato and Yui together 🌸💞
@dialovers-translations - Her work is ESSENTIAL. I played the games (MB, DF and LE) and I can't tell you how grateful I am that people like her gave some of their time and energy to publish translations of the games, drama cds etc. Thank you for that.
@everything-laito - Check.her.work. Her analysis, her theories, the whole Laito Hell is one glorious place for people obsessed with him and/or with anything dl-related to be honest.
@gingerall - It is amazing how much variety we have among the artists. So many different art styles and ways to portray the diaboys. It is refreshing. And your style, Oliver, is one of the sweetest thing I've ever seen. Moreover, even though Keii is not the first male oc we saw in the fandom, I'm sincerely happy that he exists. Happy and curious to know more.
@jardinsdeminuit - When her writings disappeared from AO3, I was...kind of devastated to be honest. I'd simped on Yuma for a time because of her quality writing but now some of her content is back so please check it out !
@kyouxa - Another translation goddess (+I've been following you on Instagram and girl, you're incredibly funny. I love your cat, I don't know if saying that makes me weird or anything but thanks for your hardwork🧎‍♀️)
@lovely-oh-so-lovelyyui - OMG YOU'RE SO KIND-and I love how you spam caps when you react. Awesome headcanons, wonderful ideas, stunning imagery, talking with you is a real pleasure too and thank you for being here.💞
@mariicake - Here come some obvious stuff: /Cyra is the sun, I really like her, her aesthetic warms me like a hot macchiato in winter./ Ok so, we didn't interact that much yet but I'm grateful for the interest you've taken into my work. And you are so kind omg, you and @besnella are a duo that I love seeing interact. Two queens really.
@nutaella-kookie - You already know how much I admire your work and contribution to the dl lore. You're probably one of the reasons I started this blog. You brought a breath of freshness to this fandom, your originality and so so soft aesthetics make my heart flutter. (and you're super understanding and reassuring, thanks for that too!)
@samsvenn - Diaboys outfits headcanons. Do have I to say more? Ok maybe a little more: this blog is something I need to dig into more attentively; but as I only read a few headcanons, I can already tell that your work is truly interesting👌
@secretarykang - I've been following you for a while now and I'm so impressed by your dedication. You diligently built Devyn, her relationships and her backstory with such patience and devotion that now, I don't like to imagine the dl world without her. Plus, you are incredibly nice and I really enjoy talking to you <3
@smonie - I hope you're doing well my dear. You are another gem in this fandom and I want you to know it. Obviously your art style is *✨️mwah✨️* but I also adore how you wrote fear, I feel like you've created such an interesting atmosphere in your writings, it's exhilarating. You are hell one good inspiration, thanks for that
@whitechocolatemochaasblog - I wanted to put you in the list because I'm curious to know more about Malorie but also about you. Your aesthetics match your name: you're a sweetheart, so warm and affable. Enjoy your time here <3
@yui--komori - The number of people who want to marry Yui is insane so I'm gonna keep quiet for now. for now.
No but seriously, you make Yui come to life and it's so nice 🥺💕
In general, I'm extremely grateful for anyone who's taking interest in this blog, anyone following it, liking the posts and rebloging them.
I probably sound like an old owl but I've been in the Diabolik Lovers fandom since ~2012 so I've had my lots of discovery and thoughts about it. I'm just very happy and grateful to see so many people keeping the fandom alive - Even though the whole franchise is a mess of toxicity and disappointment -, I'm amazed by how you, guys, transformed it into something safe. Obviously, there are bitches out there, spreading hate comments, but do we really care? Nah.
Take care,

Decided to finally post Nightrazor's lore on here! It's not too detailed, I wanted to keep it short but I might add on to it as I go. If you have any suggestions or questions feel free to let me know!
Introduction:
Nightrazor is a long-thought-out OC of mine, originally I created her back in 2019 under the name Wildfire, this was during my Transformer Prime obsession, and her name would later change to Nightrazor after I discovered IDW. Since then I have given her a complex lore, including a book I am still writing as of now. This essay is a much simpler lore, made for people who are interested to read. (None of my friends or family are Transformers fans so I'm super hyped to share!)
Basic Info:
Name: Nightrazor (initially Nightwing)
Gender: Femme/ Female (She/Her)
Faction: Mercenary
Age: Around the same age as Megatron (IDW)
Hight: Same height as Drift (IDW)
Skills: Combat Proficiency, Survival, resourcefulness, Tactical Planning, Stealth, and Infiltration.
Weaknesses: Short temper, impatience, lack of empathy, refusing help of any kind, and vengefulness.
Personality: Nightrazor comes off as stoic and cold. Small talk? Unnecessary and annoying. Bonding? How about no. She refuses to let her walls down even just a little, no matter who it is. She tends to blow up when agitated often resorting to violence depending on her mood and who you are. Deep-seated hatred for both Decepticons and Autobots.
Hobbies: She enjoys working on her ship, experimenting with modifications, or fine-tuning her own systems in her spare time (This includes her combat training). Being a flyer she heavily enjoys zipping around in her alt mode, high in the skies. She also keeps a log of all of her missions, each log is very detailed, and even Ultra Magnus would be impressed.
Moral: Loyalty to oneself.
Deepest fear: Loss of autonomy, anything threatening her independence such as being captured, controlled, or experimented on (She refuses any medical attention, she will tend to her own wounds).
Nightrazor
Before the war:
Born during the golden age of Cybertron, Nightwing of Vos transported cargo along with her fellow consignors, she took care of the orders and helped organize the cargo for send-off. Although she was just a simple transporter she prioritized helping others in need, on several occasions she helped fellow Cybertronians out of poverty and gave them a job aboard her ship, because of this she made several close friends. One of these friends was named Echo (This is my friend’s OC that I am currently redesigning) Nightwing had saved him several eons ago, and since then the two had been inseparable. Overall Nightwing was a sweet and outgoing bot, going out of her way to help others but still taking no shit, she taught many bots how to navigate through life with a clear mind and strong spark, and many looked up to her as a mentor.
Beginning of the war:
During the fall of the golden age, Nightwing and her crew became very paranoid, the fear of a civil war plagued everyone, but as it was they all still had work to due. Soon the Decepticons began to take over Cybertron and with it, the Autobots fought against them, finally, the war broke out. Nightwing and her crew were off-world when the war broke out, unable to reach her commanding officer they turned back to Cybertron to see what was going on, a detrimental mistake. Upon arrival, the ship was instantly targeted and fired at by Decepticon troops, during the panic Echo had managed to steal the ship's only escape pod leaving his friends and mentor to die. When the ship finally crash-landed it killed nearly everyone on impact, but amongst the rubble Nightwing held on to her life by a thread. Decepticons soon scavenged through the wreckage taking anything of value, eventually, they stumbled across Nightwing, and due to her showing signs of life, the troops took her in. Nightwing was initially relieved to be rescued not knowing the horrors she would soon face.
Nightrazors Genesis:
When Nightwing was brought to a Decepticon medical ward she was fixed and repaired, during the repair a few scientists noticed her abnormal spark patterns, and after further investigations, they discovered Nightwing had outlier abilities. Something she had hidden very well, was her ability to blend into shadows and completely shut off her spark signal making her undetectable. Because of this discovery, Nightwing was handed over to the science ward, where they did numerous tests, and experiments, wanting to harness outlier abilities for the Decepticon cause. At the start of this torture Nightwing was horrified, why were they doing this to her? Were they going to kill her? Was anyone going to save her? Would she die here? Over time Nightwing came to accept no one was coming for her, she was alone, and this angered her, greatly, after building her life around helping others and taking in those in need, when she was the one who needed help the most, no one came. Days turned into months, and eventually, Nightwing escaped, stealing a small Decepticon ship she fled Cybertron. She rebuilt herself, not only physically but mentally, changing her name to Nightrazor she vowed no one would dare hurt her again without the consequence of death.
Later on, Nighrazor became a mercenary, originally the job was going to be temporary, she just needed the money to fix her ship and buy some weaponry, but over time the job stuck. Nightrazor was well hidden from other bots, no one knew what she looked like or where she was, they just knew she was a mercenary, effective and deadly.

but is it wrong to feel upset that Neil Gaiman repeatedly acknowledged fans' readings of Azri/Crow as ace/queerplatonic if the intention was always for it to be romantic/sexual? not because that's a problem, obviously that representation is also important and I'm glad it's there, but I don't think he should've given the impression that a community with even less (practically nothing) might be represented (or at least an equally valid reading) if that was never the case? feels bad man :/
I don't think it's wrong to feel that way, because those are your feelings and you're feeling them. But I do think this is overall... a little complicated? Disclaimer before I continue: I am like a step removed from what Neil Gaiman's actions have ever been on this site or just in general lol, so I'm not speaking from the perspective of being intimately aware of the lore there or what instances you may be thinking of personally.
At minimum, all I know is that he's always said since season 1 that it's a "love story." Does that necessarily have to equal romance? I mean... no, because "love story" is a storytelling framework, but also. Well. [gestures vaguely]
But! That aside – again without knowing the history of potentially specific instances – I will say two things:
Acknowledgement of fan readings or gratitude or headcanons or whatnot does not have to always be, like, word-of-author-God tacit endorsement or confirmation of canon. It could very well be "I'm glad you enjoyed it, or "I'm glad you see yourself / see value in this story," or even (based on what I remember of some of the Discourse of the time) "I'm glad you're advocating for the legitimacy of the love in this story." What I'm trying to say (as gently as possible) is that him liking posts or engaging with fans' happiness was not necessarily a promise with any specificity of the nuances of the characters' identities in canon or where the story might go in future. Hell, it's even likely that he engaged with such a spectrum of fan content years ago that some could consider things he acknowledged to be contradictory, i.e. maybe he liked a sex indifferent ace reading and also liked a demi-and-super-into-each-other ace reading for example. (There's also something to be said for how messy things can get when a creator is this dialed into fandom conversations and engages with fans directly, because then people read into the creator's every online move, and some of the onus is on the creator for that broadly speaking, but... I digress.) So essentially, it's very possible with whatever acknowledgements he made that he wasn't intending to be giving impressions or promises of future material at all.
This is pure conjecture, but there's also nothing to say that he did always know what the "intention" would be in regards to the extent of the romantic or sexual nature of Aziraphale and Crowley's relationship. It's highly possible their relationship has evolved as much for Neil as it has for us. Writing can be like that, y'know? The characters or the way you end up taking their story can surprise you. And that's especially true in the case here, since there was an original book, and then the show vastly expanded upon their relationship in season 1, and now everything beyond that is largely uncharted story waters in terms of character work. I'd bet on it tbh. When Neil was liking tumblr posts or whatever back in ye old 2019, who knows how much he had mapped out for the future at that point?
But like, look. You're not wrong if you feel bad about it, as long as you're being normal about feeling bad (and you seem to be), aka not taking it out on anyone else or shitting on what the story is now or may become in future.
I also want to add that I don't think an ace spectrum reading has to inherently be considered irrelevant now or in the future for these characters? Yet I also very much know that that can sound like bullshit if a specific flavor of ace spectrum reading is what you had in mind, so I'm sympathetic to that :/
I don't know if this is very helpful smh but uhhh those are my thoughts. At the end of the day I'm sorry you're upset and I hope you continue to enjoy the characters / the show!

~ if [one of] the fabulous killjoys liked you (romantic headcanons) ~
Tumblr media
(Note: this is referring solely to the 4 band members' characters in the Danger Days/Killjoys lore, not the members of MCR themselves.)
Party Poison
They think they're sly, but are really the most obvious person on the planet
Will go out of their way to impress you, but acts like they have no idea (i.e. *kills several dozen Dracs with sick karate moves to save you* "it was nothing 😌 just doin' what I love 🤪")
Super protective: even if it's not necessary, they'll put their life on the line for you.
"I don't like them!" *literally does the most romantic things save for actually saying the words* "Like I said, I feel nothing for them"
"I'm a badass through and through who feels no such weak thing like love." - Narrator voice: They were very much not a badass through and through, and very much did feel such weak things like love.
Even if they do admit it, they'll act like it's surface level, solely physical. It's not.
Love language as far as giving is acts of service (that can be assumed): will happily help you with pretty much anything, even if they have no idea what they're doing just to impress you make you happy
But when receiving is physical touch
Like, it really really is
Again, they'll never admit it, but they absolutely love any form of physical affection. Like, they just completely melt into a hug no matter how small it's supposed to be; definitely still thinks about that one time your hands brushed whilst reaching for the same thing two months ago; that one time you kissed them on the cheek rewired their brain entirely
Fun Ghoul
The most confident of them all
Happily admits it a thousand times - to the point that it seems like a joke
"Darling"
Doesn't act very different around you, other than being a lot more sincere in his compliments
Speaking of which
Love Language is words, words, words
Somehow he finds the perfect balance of constantly giving you praise while not making it seem forced or old or cheesy
Writes poetry - the one thing he won't show to the other Killjoys
You're the first person he's ever (willingly) shown
It can be about anything, too: life as a Killjoy, his life before being a Killjoy, the way the moonlight shines on the mountains in the desert - but they're usually about you
Calls you his muse
Always asks if things are okay if he thinks they may make you uncomfortable
Though he's a cocky guy, he's always got room to be respectful
If you're seriously hurt physically or mentally, all of his massive amounts of pride and dignity go out the fucking window faster than you can say "ego"
And finally, Honesty 3000™
Kobra Kid
Way less of a cold quiet tough guy than it seems once u get to know him
Somehow the others are more aware of his feelings than he is (and constantly try to get you two together) - unlike Party, he's just oblivious, not in denial
But once he is aware of his feelings...
Huge fucking romantic
Super gentle, completely contradictory to the cold stoicism everyone else expects
Usually quiet, but the more he likes you → the more comfortable he is around you → the more talkative he is
He'll talk to you for hours about anything - even with things he's never shared with the other Killjoys (save for maybe his sibling)
Also listens to whatever you have to say in turn, always as if it's the most fascinating topic ever
Lots of trust comes from this; you two trust each other more than any other Killjoy combination
Enjoys spending time with you, no matter what you're doing
You don't even have to be doing anything special together, just your general presence makes him happy
Like his sibling, loves physical touch, both giving and receiving
Specifically giving it casually: putting arms around your shoulder, hugging you from behind, hand caressing/holding, forehead/cheek kisses, leaning his head on your shoulder, or just standing close to you in general - it comforts him just as much as you, that casual contact
(Non-)competitive motorcycle races to secret rendezvous spots in the desert after dark >>>>>
Also the kind of guy who would gently hold your face as he kisses you
100% kisses your scars
If the opportunity presents itself, that is what he will do
He thinks of it as "healing the pain just a little further, not just on the surface, either"
At first it seems like a strange gesture but it's so sincere and sweet that it's practically impossible to hate or be embarrassed by
Asexual (technically not a romantic headcanon but still)
Jet Star
The opposite of Kobra, he knows full well what these feelings mean but gets very shy and reserved and would rather die than confide in the others about it, but again, it's super noticeable
In fact even more noticeable than Party, surprisingly
He won't say anything directly to you, but he'll pretty much do anything to show it
It can be fleeting or lingering touches, the smallest of compliments delivered with the feeblest of voices, very very longing looks (which the others all make fun of) and/or doing pretty much anything to be around you - preferably alone
Once he finally gathers the courage to confess, he'd probably just lose the words and kiss you
(which he's really, really good at doing but y'know it's whatever)
The sweetest lover anyone in the Zones could hope for
Affectionate af in pretty much all ways
No real particular love language, it's a lil bit of everything
But he'll especially bring you gifts of the things he finds in the desert - the most random stuff. A necklace he found in the ground; a rock that just barely is heart-shaped; a ray gun off a Drac he didn't know what to do with
Sharing cigarettes on the roof and indulging in music (both your guys' own and others') with you until the sun rises is his ultimate fantasy
Doesn't say anything about it, but loves it when you do any and all kinds of tasks either with or for him, it makes him feel especially appreciated
Thank you for reading my weird degenerate fantasies that no one asked to know, love u for it :)
~
