ESTONIAN SONG RECOMMENDATIONS 🇪🇪✨🕶️ -1970s, 80s-

side note: I have no relation with this country, no friends/family from there. I'm currently going through a weird nordic culture & geography hyperfixation, accept this. hahah

^ the title means "north, south, east, west" which only lets us assume what the song's meaning is about... this one's intro has a slightly vdgg-ish sound (similar to their aerosol grey sound 💅🏻) then it turns into a climax which finally reveals as a prog finale with soft nuances (9/10)

^ oh I love this one, a magical storytelling tribute to the (Hindenburg?) zeppelin incident. Opens with a German rhyme about uhm... Graf von Zeppelin, a break separates it from the rest of this song. What you then hear is a typical 60s dreamy psychedelic rhythm that takes you into its own ban, with changes and breaks it's finally develops into the perfect desaster. The zeppelin destroys & kills. Hidden boyish rebellion follows. In the very end the situation calmed down, the psychedelic mist returns & fills the air again

(9/10 with bonus points for the singer's "zeppelin zeppelin awrwrerwrgszwgbbrbbrbrbr screams" check it out)

^ resistance against whatever the challenges of the late 70s-80s ESSR were: breaking out. A 180° degree change from the previous songs, complete different musical style, punk, the anger more obvious, the "Eesti" influences obvious as well. Unpopular opinion: the song gives off Leningrad Cowboys flair, ok make up your own scenario. x (6/10)

^ another whole different genre. I really enjoy the warmth of the sound, the feeling that you're part of the party (don't tell me I'm the only one who hears this :D) City pop vibe, not a glimpse of the communistic troubles. Though the song & all others from this compilation [GROOVE of ESSR] didn't age well!! (5/10)

Random quirk/pet peeve: Does anyone else find it uncomfortable, ridiculously so, to read or write a sentence that doesn't have a single "S" sound in it?

No, I'm serious, I will physically cringe, then go back and rewrite the sentence to include some "S" sounds. Or if it's one I didn't write, I get hung up for a few minutes trying to think of ways I can put in "S" sounds, and pretend that's the sentence I read.

And it doesn't have to be the letter "S," just needs to make that sound. So words like "certainly" or "choice" or "excited" are all perfectly acceptable (<there's another one). But give me a sentence with no "S" sound, and you might as well be dragging fingernails down a chalkboard.

I don't know why I'm like this. I don't know what's wrong with me. Send help.
