it’s still your early days in the team and you’re not used to the pressure that comes with every case yet. at one point you’re talking with him in his office and suddenly he sees tears in your eyes and a cute pout on your lips :( and he’s like 🥺 so he gets up and comes close to you and does everything in his power to comfort you 🥹

or like if you make a mistake and he slightly raises his voice at you? and you look at him like 🥺 ready to cry and he just MELTS and he’s like “no, wait, it’s okay”

It’s not world-ending but one thing that irks me is when I show a friend an extreme metal song I love and they just say “it all sounds the same/like noise, I don’t get it.” I’m perfectly fine with the I don’t get it part, there’s genres I’m not a huge fan of obviously, and yeah, heavy metal is abrasive, that’s kind of the point. I also don’t expect someone to understand the insane variety in metal; while all subgenres typically have downtuned guitars and harsh vocals, that’s kind of where the similarities end. No, the thing that bothers me is that it comes off as rude and dismissive. There’s plenty of ways to say you don’t personally care for a song without being negative. For me, my go to is “not something I’d go out of my way to listen to, but I can see why you like it.” Because there is something there that my friend enjoys, and when I listen, I try to find one or two of those things. I like understanding why people are drawn to certain types of music.

(Also, if you say those things about rap, you kinda sorta might be racist. Please reflect on that.)

So some firespitters are able to set themselves on fire? I have to ask, what if Firestarter mc got so angry/happy that they caught fire and accidentally set off the sprinklers? (I can just imagine my mc going off on some a-hole, their shirt smoking, only for the sprinkler system to trigger and ruin the tension XD) I wonder how the ROs would react to that.

HA I love this ❤️ breaking the tension with a comedically-timed sprinkler is honestly comedy genius I agree (and very plausible)

Atlas: Very angry and embarrassed on MC’s part, quickly apologizing to whoever owns the building while putting Institute funds towards whatever needs fixing, side eyeing MC all the while. They’re gonna get an ear-full as soon as Atlas gets all the icicles off of his coat.

Puck: Thinks it’s hilarious, acting quickly and throwing their coat over MC as they get soaked instead, smiling and laughing all while trying to calm MC down and telling them not to get their coat caught on fire as well. Very apologetic to everyone in order to keep the heat down.

Skye: Fully supported MC going off on someone and found it even better when the sprinklers went off. Still laughing, she helps MC get out of the situation and steers them away from being angry anymore with a lot of laughter and light-hearted jokes. Is 100% keeping this story.

Reese: He caught on fire with MC 😔 as soon as he helps them escape the angry owner, he’s already started hunting back down the person who made them both so angry. Not either of their faults when the guy was such an asshole anyways, right?

Despite starting to use tumblr again, I haven’t done a good job at updating on what has become of me since I left, so I’d like to make this special post centered on:

✨My Selim Bradley Obsession✨

“What?” You may ask. That kid from the last arc of FMA who nobody likes? Yeah yeah that’s him.

I’m exaggerating ofc by saying nobody likes him but he’s not among the ranks of Roy Mustang, Edward Elric himself, or Greed. He is not fighting for good. He is not a suave adult. He is a mean little boy.

FMA has been one of my great loves since I was 14…which was a very long time ago. To me the story is perfect and satisfying— so much that once the manga and FMAB were finished, I stopped thinking about it. (I also had a lot of embarrassment over how in love I was with Ed before that.) It was easy to leave FMA behind and move onto new things…like Fire Emblem Awakening! That is how I ended up making this blog. But over time I became sad that I was only chasing new things. Eventually, I wanted to return to the media that had shaped me and it was during summer of 2020 that I decided to revisit FMA.

Originally Ed was the character I cared most about. I remembered Selim but not enough to care about him. My taste in characters had changed drastically by the time I returned though. I actually did a rewatch a few years prior and thought Selim was really cool. This spurred me to make a Twitter thread about how he *might* be my favorite FMA character. And by the end of that thread, he WAS my favorite character. Below is my gallery where you can see the obsession awaken down to the day.

Simply put, I think he’s neat? M Robin Fire Emblem was my favorite when I was blogging here regularly. I like male characters who fight with their wits instead of flashy weapons, so I guess Pride falls into that too. I also like shadows. Darkrai is one of my favorite Pokémon. I like little boy characters with big empty eyes. I think they’re cute in probably in the same way people think squishmallows are cute. I like characters with spiky bangs I think it looks sick. There’s also something somewhat tragic about him. From things with his mother to things with his Father to the fake little family he lives in. I can spend a lot of time on this so I’ll stop there.

My little obsession (2 years and counting ahaha…) has lead me to do all kinds of things too! I’ve made new friends online! I started collecting manga beginning with FMA! I’ve gotten a bunch of merch that makes me happy. And the projects I’ve done! I’ll make a separate post of all my Selim inspired projects but gosh I learned so much by being way obsessed with a character who barely has any merch. I had to make my own merch! And then there’s…my shameful custom phone screen

I have learned i might be scared of pregnancy as a concept a little more than I thought i was lol

I already know I’m freaked by the idea of me being pregnant #I used to have reoccuring stress dreams about getting unexpectedly pregnant #or getting cold feet before my wedding #so like yeah yeah I’m scared of the commitment and pregnancy sounds traumatizing #however the other day a capoeira friend was at practice #and announced to us she was like. a month pregnant. and she’s already showing a little #and like uh ya already scary thinking about her doing martial arts WHILE PREG #she was doing it slower and careful but omg lol #but like if I looked over at her and her stomach #I felt like. vague anxiety. like just the thought of a person growing in there #and being so very fragile and having potential for so much to go wrong #such a sensitive scenario. freaks me out idk man pregnancy is scary #parenthood is scary!!!!

Ever since last night I’ve been getting brief dizzy spells, I think it’s allergy/weather related tho. My medicine doesn’t help the symptoms I get when the weather is fucking up tho. If this continues I may have to call my boss and either see if I can be moved to a smaller area or whoever else she decides or suggests. I would say crowded but wherever I go it’s gonna be crowded. I’m taking a break to eat something then going back out to sweep and hoping for the best ig.

#last night my eyes were also super light sensitive #if that acts up I’m gonna have to go home bc then the dizziness is garanteed to happen #I’ll be constantly exposing myself to very bright light all day which would only worsen things #I mean duh lol #yeah I think those eye drops really have worsened the light sensitivity I already had prior to the drops #I don’t mean for any of this to happen I hope she understands #I don’t want this give me points against me I already went home early the other night and I’m #better now so I should be able to stay all day #if only my brain will permit it #talkies
