It drives me insane whenever people frame it like Baldr 'succumbing to darkness' and going crazy was inevitable. Sure, darkness played a part in that tragedy, but it completely overlooks the reality of how Master Odin failed to take care of that child at every step of the way. The boy was lost in grief, and the adult who was supposed to take care of him shoved him in an asylum-like room alone? Are we really going to leave that part out in favor of pushing the narrative that people prone to darkness are simply evil at heart? He could have lived a happy life being himself if he had been supported and nurtured. It didn’t have to be this way.

So I am having SO MANY thoughts about the twinrova and how they’re a couple centuries old and so would’ve lived through multiple rulers before “serving” ganondorf.

Like they raised him, what was their agenda? Did they have plans spanning multiple sovereigns to secure their power over the gerudo? Did they have the Omni man “what’s another century we’ll just raise the next one” kind of feelings towards him if he didn’t become their puppet or weapon?

So much thot not enough brain space this rot is taking over me

ooooooogh twinrova brainrot is strong in me too…..yeah because if they’re ~400 years old and OoT ganondorf was still just in his twenties at the time, and a male gerudo child is born every century, then presumably they could’ve been in the position of raising said children multiple times? i think i remember seeing a take somewhere that considered the idea of twinrova’s role in the gerudo being similar to that of impa serving as an attendant/mentor to zelda, and i think that’s a really cool idea. there’s probably also a lot of potential angst to be found in these little old witches who may have cared for previous gerudo princes, and would have had the incredible responsibility of keeping them safe in childhood, while also training them in witchcraft and war strategy, and advising them in their kingship as adults. because if that’s the case, they would’ve seen those princes live and die multiple times too

it kinda makes you wonder if their love for ganondorf is so obsessive in part because they know firsthand how painful it is to lose a child, to live long enough to outlive to your children multiple times. tbh, i feel like them using ganondorf as their proxy for everything, and trying to make him an all-powerful being at any cost, is more a product of their love for him, than it is a litmus test of whether they‘ll love him or not? and by this i don’t mean they’re like,,, a healthy family by any means, like you can still easily apply terms like abuse and trauma-bonding to parts of their dynamic, imo. i think kotake & koume love ganondorf genuinely, and always have, and that the sentiment is mutual. it’s just that they’re willing to go to very extreme lengths to protect/empower ganon in the ways they believe are necessary, because they are very aware of how important he is, to them and the gerudo as a whole. and ironically, a lot of the time, this desperation ends up being not at all conducive to his safety, or sanity, or happiness

like…raising him with expectations and standards that are completely unreasonable for any human being, that turn him into an ambition-driven nutjob who invents lightning magic & masters all types of weaponry & plays a pipe organ, while also having virtually no ability to form genuine relationships with people other than his mothers. or them trying to make him into an impervious, all-powerful being by trying to take divine power, which sometimes inadvertently turns the rational parts of his brain into soup and sets them on fire. or them trying to revive him after death in the downfall timeline by sacrificing themselves, inadvertently bringing him back wrong, and sentencing him to an existence he never would’ve originally wanted

idk. they’re really fun and also heartbreaking to think about. he engraves their names into his weapons, they willfully die just for the possibility of allowing him to live again. their familial relationship seems to be the most important bond in the lives of everyone involved in it, at the expense of any other kind of connections in their lives. he’s their figurative puppet in a few ways, and will break himself over and over if it means meeting their expectations, but i doubt any of them see it that way. everyone involved gets extremely hurt in one way or another, no matter what, often in an attempt to do the opposite, out of love and fear. little fucked up witch fambly……it’s so much

You wondered if the man even cared enough to get to know you, after all you’ve been acting as his bed warmer for the past three months.

But that just it, you were warned of how this would work, you both agreed to emotionless sex— being each other’s fuckbuddies when work got to much to emotionally handle.

As it seemed neither of you had the mental capacity to have a healthy coping mechanism. You sat on your floor infront of a mirror trying to cover up a neck bruise, Jake had a nightmare again—the same one as usual, Instead Jacob Sr was the one doing the choking.

You sat on the floor like fucking obedient dog waiting for Jake to come back and tell you what do next. Death happened,cancer stripped your dad of his life. Sitting at his beside watching him struggle take his last breath, shushing him he because he was pushing himself to use his voice.

Going on base and listening to the Admiral Simpson go over on the speaker and tell the base that Admiral Kazansky—your dad drew his last breathe. Which led you to Jake Seresin bed.

2. Family Dinner

You kept tugging at the hem of your turtle neck, it was to hot to be wearing this damn thing in the first place. But last thing you wanted to was to worry your siblings as they had just lost their father. That last thing they needed was their weak sister falling apart at the seams, as if they weren’t either.

Two times a month your siblings held saturday dinner. The idea was to keep up with eachother.

Guess who’s been missing family dinner to fuck Jake Seresin?, the answer is Y/n Kazansky.

You stood on Ana porch quietly, wondering if you should even go in, not wanting the catch the end of your short-tempered sister.

You glanced at your plate again thinking up lie to tell her. “I’ve been busy Ana, since the mission the dagger squad have become a permanent squadron”. Your telling the truth but the full truth.

You pray Ana takes the bone you threw at her and leaves it alone. Ana gave you a dirty look before picking at her broccoli and shoving it in her mouth. Thank god neither of your parents were here as they would’ve picked up on ticks, the picking at your nails, nibbling at your bottom lip.

“Sweetheart you can tell us whats going on you know that right”, your dad would say while nudging your shoulder, “Your off the clock, you can retire Killerfrost till your up in the air”.

You thought Ana had let it go as she stopped acknowledging you, and was only talking to Xander. "I hope that whatever you been doing was worth it Y/n, you haven’t even seen mom in goddamn month”.

“Ana” Xander sighed, he was getting tired of his sister remarks, you didn’t wanna defend yourself anymore, not that you even tried to.

You bowed your head in shame, no longer wanting to make eye contact with either sibling.

“What Xander?”, Ana raised her voice,”It’s the same fucking thing dad would’ve say to her too,I’m getting tired of her acting as if she’s the only one who lost a dad, like mom didn’t lose apart of her”.

You could feel the tears attempting to escape from your eyes. You placed the silverware back in its place, you stood from the dinner table. Casting a look between the both of them—“I’m sorry Ana, Xander” before you walked out of her house with tears rushing down your face.

Your sitting at a gas station thinking about everything, you really were acting selfish.

Maybe fucking Jake Seresin was a bad idea?

You picked up your phone, eyeing the text message. “I can’t sleep Y/n, come over if your aren’t busy”.

And just like that, Jake was telling you to come over it’s like he knew when it was a bad time for you. How dare you say no to him?

You put the key back in the ignition and start to slowly pull out of the parking lot.

Your on the back road, the shortest way to get to his house.

3. All I Could Was Cry

She was standing there with my man.

I heard them promise death do us apart.

A woman who looked like Marilyn Monroe was her descendant hung off of Jakes arm, she wrapped her hand around his bicep. They both shared a smile with one another, “I’m busy tonight Y/n“, he texted you this morning.

They were pushing eachother into the water- her screams of joy as Jake playfully her slammed into the water. She leaned into to him pushing her tongue down his throat.

I was losing the man I loved.

“Falling in love with a man like that is dangerous game Y/n” A familiar voice interrupts your self pity. Uncle Maverick is standing behind you with two beers in his hands and small smile. “Scoot over kiddo” Your sitting on cold sand, pretending to be okay with the scene infront of you.

“Uncle Mav if your here to give me I’m so disappointed in you speech, I’ve already gave myself one more than once I-“. He gently cuts you off when he pulls you into a tight, rubbing his hand up and down your back.

“Your mom been worried about you, so has your siblings , me and the daggers”. His voice is laced with worry, you hated making people worry about you. “Your flying been…crazy these past couple of months”. Maverick struggles to find more words to say, unsure if he does it might push into Jakes arms.

He was right you been flying like your ass was on fire, and if you’ve been pulling maneuvers even he wouldn’t dare to.

“Ana Kazansky is worried about me?”, Your eyes widen at that,“It didn’t seem like that a couple nights ago when she was going for my head”.

“Ana is like your father, arguing with them is like sitting on the stand defending yourself against a criminal charge”. Uncle Maverick explains with a soft tone, “I would know after pissing your dad off for over thirty years”. You swear he blinks away a few tears before continuing.

“I have everything under control, yes I like Seresin and I understand he doesn’t want me”. You feel indifferent as the lie rolls off your tongue through your mouth. “I’m Killerfrost Kazansky who doesn’t allow her emotions to get the best of her”. Your eyes shift away as you attempt to not hold eye contact with him.

“The same bullshit your father tried to pull with me years ago, your Y/n Kazansky the woman who just her father, the woman who misses her father dearly the man who showed you how to spell your name, the man who managed to get out of deployment early to drop you off for the first day kindergarten”.

Tears pricked at your eyes,“I didn’t think about it that way,maybe i’ve been to hard on myself?”. Your voice cracks with emotion. “As much I hate to say it— It feels nice to be ‘wanted’ by someone, Mav”.

“Kid, I was that man thirty some odds years ago when Goose died, I had sex with any woman who looked my way and said yes”. Maverick pulled away from you, gently wiping away your tears. “It’s going to hurt kiddo for awhile, but I promise you its gets better, the last thing Ice would want is for his daughter to lose herself, to allow a man to tell her how worthy she is”. After leaving you alone with your thoughts, your phone blinks as a notification pops up.

“Y/n I need you over tonight”. Your walking back to the car, hand on the car handle. “10 is good”. Your driving past his house, your driving to your apartment.

4. Happier Again (3months later)

He’s in standing your doorway with roses in his hand, and red wine in the other. When you heard knocking on the door you expected Ana because it almost time for movie night or Harvard because he’s sucks at cooking and needs help. But not him—Jake Seresin was standing in your doorway looking apologetic.

The new you wants to slam the door in his face, forcing him to catch a hint that the nights you spent in his bed were over. Deciding against your gut you decide to allow him in, for what you’ll never know—maybe he’s here to offer a peace offering.

You still had to work with him still— the dagger squadron is permanent till Cyclone and Cain think otherwise.

Jake goes to open his mouth but nothing leaves it, which is a first. The great Hangman is left clueless not a insult dripping with anger and sarcastic comment in sight.

“Come in Jake” He cocks his head to the side unsure if he really should.“If you want stand outside and look stupid thats fine by me”. You turn on your heel,but before you get far he grabs you by wrist, pulling you into a kiss.

The roses, the wine—he loves me, Jake“Hangman” Seresin finally loves me. You feel the old you try to blossom like a dead flower, attempting to sprout back to life.

“Stop!”You shoved at his chest he falls back alittle. “No, I’m not doing this again with you Jake”. Your cheeks are starting to get red,“What about that woman from the hard deck?”.

His lips slip into a tight smile“She and I are going through a rough patch right now”. Jake steps into your apartment, “Y/n its nothing to worry about she wouldn’t know”.

You shake your head at him,“You haven’t changed?”.

“Oh come on darlin it’ll be like old times”, He stands tall, his hangman smile is fully on display.

You scoff, doesn’t he understand what I just said?

“Jake you have a girlfriend, its make you a cheater!” You jabbed a finger into his chest. “Your cheating on your girlfriend”. He doesn’t give a shit.

“And your such a fucking angel darlin, we fucked for how long Y/n?”. His voice is harsh, anger bubbling—getting ready to explode like a volcano. “Were’s ya fucking halo at?”.

“I didn’t know” you yell back at him—standing your ground. The one bad thing you inherited from your dad was his temper, when your button been pushed for too long.“You must fell from heaven when your father casted you out, huh?”. A low blow that was uncalled for, but he’s taking it there.

“I need you darlin, I need to fuck you!”. he screams, your pretty sure you and Jake are one second close to having the cops called for a domestic disturbance.

“You and I need therapy Jake”, your voice returning to a calm tone.“Fucking you was worst shit i’ve ever done, I’ve been using you as a tool”. You step back from him.“Jake you can’t honestly tell me we aren’t ‘broken’ a little bit, sane humans don’t do this shit”.

Jakes eyes were squeezed closed, your cupped his jaw with your hands.“It’s okay not be okay, but its not okay to be doing this”. You sighed,“As much as I want to, its not healthy Jake”.

Jake opened his eyes, tears were rolling down his face. “I’m so sorry Y/n I just needed a break, I needed a break from being Hangman”.

“A smart guy told me once your no longer in the air, there’s no need to fake who you are”. Your eyes are beginning to become teary, “We need help Jake”.

“Your right Y/n” His eyes were still wet.

“Go back your place and try to figure out what went wrong with you and her”. You gently told him. “Work buddies?”. You had hope in your voice, you put your hand out.

A wet laugh fell from his mouth,“Work buddies”. He shakes it.

Helluva Boss S1E8 was…eh. Pretty bad tbh.

I was happy to see Kesha in this episode. I love the song tbh, the sequence is definitely eye candy. And the callbacks to the Die Young video are top notch. The design alone is really cool (But since she’s supposed to be Beelzebub…then the design should’ve been a bee and not a hellhound.)

I do love tho that Queen Bee wasn’t a stereotypical bitch in this episode and has a healthy relationship with Tex. That was awesome.

Other than that…the episode was eh.

Loona calling Blitz her dad would’ve been so heartwarming if not for the fact that she abuses him in S2E2.

I honestly have given this show the benefit of the doubt so many times and it hasn’t been working for me lol.

Especially after reading Viv‘s thread about her not taking criticism… I just gave up after that XD.

I honestly wish someone would just take all of Viv‘s projects (HH, HB, Zoophobia, etc.) and makes movies and shows based on them. Either stand-alone or part of a shared universe. Basically one big rewrite.

But yeah, that’s pretty much it. If you guys like or love you the episode then I’m happy for you! If you didn’t like it, then you came to the right place!

i see it kicked around a lot that mako should’ve died in the finale and i’m so tired. the mako propaganda of 2022 continues.

a sacrifice doesn’t always end in death nor does it always make a satisfying ending to a character arc. not to mention how the death would impact the other characters, how it would fit into the final episode of a show, how it ties into established themes and so forth.

i think people conflate this with their desire for satisfying closure. there’s no need for me to go into the hurdles and set backs that the show had and why they couldn’t do a lot of what they wanted or even needed to do it for the characters.

but really the idea that mako should have died in the finale rubs me the wrong way because like what a fucking tragic downer of an ending

bolin would’ve had to carry that for the rest of his life. the mortal representation of sunshine himself would’ve had to mourn his brother for the rest of his life and feel guilty about not being able to save him. especially when you consider mako raised him, protected him and they’d just come off a three year separation and tense reunion.

korra’s season 4 arc of overcoming her trauma and regaining confidence in herself would’ve blown up in her face. if one of her friends had died she would’ve felt unbearably guilty and questioned her decision making. especially after she’d isolated herself for three years and hadn’t reached out to mako in all that time.

the show wouldn’t have ended on a happy occasion. varrick and zhu li would not have gotten married. the show would’ve ended with mako’s funeral and that’s not the kind of ending that leaves people feeling warm and fuzzy.

the idea that people would want korra and asami to get together after their mutual ex just died is gross and wouldn’t have been well received at all. it is spiteful and reads as though mako is somehow an obstacle to korrasamai.

mako is like 22 years old and had a really hard life and you want him to die? shame on you and your cows tbh. he deserves the world damn it

closing off his character arc as someone who has gone from being rather self-interested and only caring about his immediate circle to someone who is willing to lay down his life for others without hesitation because he’s inspired by korra and has grown just from knowing her is a better arc than just capping it off with death.

people refuse to move beyond the stupid love triangle despite the characters themselves fully moving on from it.

mako has never had and never needed a redemption arc. he was never a villain or evil or bad. he was a confused teenager with bad interpersonal skills due to living on the streets for a majority of his young life. y’all gotta stop thinking character growth from stupid decisions, questionable but understandable behaviors needs “redemption”.

Do you think they’ll show daemon and rhaenrya mourning the lost of their partners next episode with them getting together? Because I’m not sure if that’s what “love” is only comfort in one another. People were also saying rhaenrya seemed so happy with harwin but tbh she looked sad most of the episode and kind of lost. If she was with the love of her life then I presume she would’ve been happier or maybe she’s under a lot of stress. What are your thoughts?

*sigh* I honestly don't know where people got the idea that Daemon was deeply in love with Laena, or that Rhaenrya was so in love with Harwin. Because it was JUST NOT IN THERE on the screen.

Let's take a look at the couple scenes.

Daemon/Laena: The only time he looked happy was when he was flying Caraxes. Other than that we never saw the man happy, not at all. He was muted, depressed, miserable. When the offer was made to stay in Pentos, he considered it without taking into account Laena's point of view. He spent his time poring over stories and accounts of the Targaryen kings, the Targaryen legacy. He kept up to date on what was going on with Rhaenrya. When her name came up, he broke out of his muted stupor for a bit, and there was bitterness and jealousy in his tone.

Yes, he cared for Laena. Yes, he loves his daughters, but the man was clearly living in a world of muted grey, living half a life where he is cut off from what makes him burn.

Now, let's take the final scenes. Many like to compare it to the Viserys/Aemma childbirth scene and how Daemon is so much better because he didn't choose the child over the mother. I agree with that, yes, it was great that Daemon made that choice. On the other hand, I feel that a LOT is being missed.

Viserys was/is the King of the Seven Kingdoms. He believed he was a dreamer who had the sight, and his vision saw his son (he believed his and Aemma's son) on the throne. If he was given this vision, surely it had to be of some huge import for the realm. Viserys was driven by something greater than just "me man, must have son!" pounds chest!

Also, he was devastated. He held her hand; he wept. He told her he loved her. And despite the horrid, terrible thing happening, we know that he did absolutely love her. On the other hand, Daemon stood outside the room calmly, a pained look on his face. He wasn't there by Laena's side. He wasn't holding her hand. He wasn't there FOR HER. Laena was able to escape the room because Damon wasn't with her.

And then when he saw her, he called her name, he looked on in pain, in grief, but I'm sorry to those who said so, but that was not devastation. Matt Smith is a tremendous actor. If he wanted to show a Daemon who was devastated, he would have. Miguel Sapochnick is a tremendous director. If he wanted us to see a Daemon who was devastated we would have seen it. We would have seen a Daemon RUNNING, RACING, CHARGING to her.

We did not.

We would have seen a Daemon falling to his knees in agony, raggedly running his hands through his hair in torment. Crying. Trying to get closer to her burnt corpse.

We did not.

What we got was a muted Daemon staring in pain at the burnt body of his wife of ten years who had just lost their child and willingly chose to die by dragonfire rather than bleed out for days in agony. And he just stood there. It hurt. He was hurting, yes. But he wasn't devastated.

Now to Rhaenrya/Harwin. She looked on pleased to introduce Harwin to Joffrey. She smiled at his joke about the babe's insolence. She used the secret tunnels that Daemon had shown her to listen in on Lyonel's rant to Harwin and looked sad and guilty about it. She looked sad when he had to say goodbye to the boys.

And, erm, that was it.

On the other hand, she was playing with the same ball-thing in the Small Council meeting that was Daemon's, and it was only when HIS name came up that we FINALLY saw some of that old Rhaenrya fire.

So, after this very (very, very) long-winded response, no, anon, we don't have to worry about Daemon and Rhaenrya getting together because they are mourning their dead partners. Daemon was with Laena because he could not be with Rhaenrya. Laena even all but said she knew that she was his second choice. She told him she was not the wife he would have chosen. He didn't deny it, he just said her name apologetically.

Once Daemon sees Rhaenrya, it's going to be: YAAAAS! My QUEEN! She is his love. SHE is his first choice. Always has been.

As for Rhaenrya, what, where was Rhaenrya looking so happy with Harwin? It didn't happen in episode 06, so I don't know where they saw it.

And same as above.... once Rhaenrya sees Daemon, it's going to be: YAAAAAS! My KING! HE is her love. HE is her choice. Always has been.

CHAPTER 35 IS HITTING LIKE ALL MY FAVORITE TROPES,, the ao3 outage earlier this week KILLED me right during my standard "rereading the latest chapter over and over" frenzy,,,

this one had me throwing my phone on my bed and covering my face w my hands like a flustered maiden. losing my fucking shit the entire time

the sudden "theres something going on that all the staff are whispering about" had me like,, what the fuck is going on,, is someone DEAD? and a momentary "HOW MANY MONTHS HAS IT BEEN SINCE THAT ULTIMATUM" and then its naoya's dumb ass getting himself sick. i'd be annoyed at him if it weren't for the incredible scenes this grants us later in the chapter

(and its also SO FUNNY *how* he got sick-- literally stranded in some cursed energy zone all pathetic and alone. just like my sad kicked dog description i keep using for him. he is embodying it fully and truly.)

when naoya's staff came up to y/n like "its about naoya's health we need you" i was like "ohh the drama is he gonna die without her there or something" and,, turns out thats exactly it he probably would've died from refusing to take medicine if she weren't there. glorious. hes so pathetic its unreal (affectionate)

THEYRE FINALLY ALONE TOGETHER AGAIN,, it feels like its been so long and it apparently has been for him-- feeling like its been centuries since hes seen her. ME TOO MF MAYBE IF YOU WERE LESS OF AN ASSHOLE WE COULDVE BEEN HERE EARLIER

"it feels like you could literally do just about anything with him and he wouldn't be able to stop it" - "you were sure you could control him" Y/N,, GIRL,, YOU WANNA TOP HIM SO BAD OOO YOU WANT TO DOM HIM SO BAD. IM CHEERING FOR YOU (she might've been thinking more about murder. but i know what i was thinking) that followed by the "holding the cup directly to his lips to make him drink" scene is killing me. im going insane for them.

she FINALLY gets to interrogate his ass and he CAN'T go anywhere or do anything about it this whole scene was AMAZING. we get so much added dimension to both of them with y/n finally getting to snap on him somewhat and say/ask all the things she's been hiding, and naoya finally showing a little bit of that vulnerability with the discussion about the records and his mother. there's SO much going on here and i can't WAIT to see how that's gonna unfold in the next chapter ft. all sorts of flashbacks

i would read like 35 more chapters of just these sick shenanigans going on tbh. naoya's pov during this kinda thing would be so interesting too-- how deliriously out of it is he actually? is he gonna be absolutely mortified at this behavior when he's more lucid? i could also imagine him pretending to be sick for wayyy longer than he really is just so y/n won't leave,,,

Now onto the juicy details…

I’m 100% aware that I’ve been writing nothing less than indulging tropes… AND I’M GLAD ABOUT IT HAHAHAH I’M NEVER GONNA STOP

I think I might’ve been a bit dramatic when writing the reaction from the staff. But after everything that happened… there’s no other way for them to react 😂 The never-ending drama in the Naoya-Y/N soap opera has them on edge, they saw this coming and was only a matter of waiting when it would occur.

It makes me wonder what Naobito’s opinion about this whole charade was 🤔 From disappointment towards his son, to amusement when hearing that Naoya has been incessantly calling for Y/N. He probably lurked around as close as he could to get a better look of what was happening, maybe even bringing some popcorn to enjoy the show. Y/N was right to assume that his family would’ve intervened to force her into aiding Naoya, although… not because they cared but rather because Naobito was tired of things being boring.

Omg… who does he ship Y/N with? Naoya or Naoaki? WTF am I even saying lmao 😂 I need to log off.

As for the timeline… please don’t ask me about it AHAHAH I feel like after all the things that happened, if I were to sit down and determine how much time has passed since the beginning of the story… it would probably be like 5 years or so lol —well, it certainly feels like it anyways. But I will set a time frame in the following chapters to give you an example of how long it’s been, if it’s believable anyways 😂 Thank god it’s fiction AMIRITE? (excuse my lazy writing 😭)

Anyways, the way he got sick is exactly as you described: overall pathetic. There really is no better words to say, serves to show how he’s slowly losing himself 💀😂 ah, poor Naoya, but can’t say he doesn’t deserve it. I wonder what he actually did in those missing days?

I’m very surprised y/n was involved at all for there’s no way the staff didn’t know of their tumultuous relationship. This more likely than not could’ve worsened his situation… and if she was truly vengeful she could’ve taken this chance to kill him and yet, they still had faith on her, believed she would somehow ignore all the horrible things he had done to her and do the right thing. And in that matter, they don’t deserve Y/N lol. Once again if she were a bit more unhinged, she could easily be a Tomie-type of character… but where’s the fun in that? (at least for what I have in mind, not gonna say that writing that kind of story isn’t intriguing hehe)

Well, the threat of her being forced by her in-laws lingered in the back of her mind, perhaps even her main motivator, but all things considered she decided to do so because, well, she’s not completely evil. She should’ve been a bit harsher… but well, that doesn’t really align to the values she was taught with.

Talking about the alone part… wow. It has been a while since we saw them together like that; like what, 10 chapters? Lol Still, if Y/N had been that unhinged she could’ve been like “I’m taking my ladies with me AND Naoaki for my well-being” and that would’ve murdered Naoya and his staff immediately. HAHAHAH Can you imagine that though? Still, I won’t say that doesn’t sound a bit ridiculous 😂 the whole family reunited in his room lol.

But yeah!! It’s been so long, and it’s finally happening… under relatively normal conditions where Naoya isn’t terrorizing her. It does make me wonder how their time at the ryokan during their honeymoon was like… I might write about it… some snippets here and there (or if someone wants to send in an ask of what they think happened heheh) anyways, her being in this position of power is a bit unnerving to her, and within reason. From being berated almost daily, to being in a situation where she can literally do anything and who’s gonna stop her?????

Well, Y/N isn’t that crazy like Naoya, but I’m sure she’ll make the most out of this situation anyways.

AS FOR THE TOPPING IMPLICATION…. Damn. I didn’t even think about it like that hahah I was out here imagining how “Y/N wants to beat him up, make him suffer, so he can get a taste of what she’s been through………….” And then you show me the other side of the coin where she might want to top him DAMN that’s an interesting perspective of something that might happen further down the road…. AHAHAHHAHA I won’t say anything more.

Either way, not that the aspect of “intimacy” has been brought up, for me those moments that Y/N was taking care of Naoya felt… well, intimate, if that makes sense. Probably a delusion from my side, but it’s the kind of domestic things I want to see happening between the two 😭 no more drama or fighting, just the two being in a healthy, happy relationship. Like Naoya coming back injured from a mission and Y/N tending for him because she cares for him, not because she’s being forced or because Naoya was acting stupid or whatever.

But we shall see, we’re getting somewhere after all :>

The highlights of this chapter would definitely be Naoya opening up to Y/N (although a bit, and when he’s not 100% him, but it’s something…) and Y/N talking (or more like demanding) to know about the records and why he’s acting like that… even though she doesn’t believe him that much lol.

NGL I’m excited for the next chapter, it’s going to be flashbacks that will certainly affect their relationship—something I’ve been wanting to write too! Like, I hadn’t said anything about Tomoko outside of Naoaki’s perspective, but what about Naoya?! What’s his relationship with her like? How was she during her last days at the Estate? And for Y/N, HOW DID MINAKO DIE? Oof, very interesting indeed.

The following chapter, whether for the worse or for the better, is necessary for their marriage. As well as his sickness :> We’re finally getting development for the two yall!!

Anyways, thank you so much for your patience and support! We’re slowly moving forward to the “good stuff” that I cannot WAIT to post!!! We Are Mandalorians: Our Love Must Be Forged (An AxePaz Fic)—Chapter 9

Righty-ho, this is the chapter where things get worse for like a second but in a really fun way and then everything is gonna turn out great. It’s literally my favorite part of the entire fic tbh, except maybe the happy ending (which I promise is coming eventually!) Also, I don’t remember if I’ve used any Mando’a before in this fic, but I don’t think I have, so the rule for big phrases is Mando’a is the actual dialogue and the translation follows in italics. Singular words that are probably common knowledge among Mando fic fans are just as-is, but here is a link to the Wookieepedia page about Mando’a just in case. Anything I use can be found there. Enjoy!!!

“Paz, will you say the vows with me?” Axe asked.

Paz was weary; Axe could see it the way he nodded. And yes, it seemed futile to do it in a pit, at the end; but if not then, it would be never.

“Mhi solus tome,” Axe began. We are one when together.

“Mhi solus dar’tome.” Paz took the next line, his breathing labored and his voice hoarse with exhaustion. We are one when parted.

“Mhi me’dinui an.” We will share all. Including death.

“Mhi—ba’juri verde,” Paz said, and Axe’s heart ached when he heard how Paz’s voice stumbled on this part. We will raise warriors. He took Paz’s hand and squeezed it tight.

The footsteps in the cavern above came closer to the edge of the pit. Paz leaned his helmet against Axe’s. “I love you,” he whispered. “With all the strength of my heart.”

Axe longed to prolong the Keldabe kiss until the end, but he was tired and he was afraid and his nerves were absolutely bare. “Let me hold you,” he said, his voice trembling. “Let me die with you in my arms.”

Paz laid down with his head in Axe’s lap, his breathing slow. His right arm seemed stiff, and he curled his left around Axe’s knees. Was it the most comfortable of positions?…No, not really, but it wouldn’t matter for long anyway. Axe draped his arm across Paz’s upper body, fingers clutching at the cloth beneath his armor in hopes of feeling his pulse one last time past all the garments of war.

Just as the footfalls above reached the edge of the pit, the sound of blaster fire split the air. Bodies collapsed, beskar alloy ringing out against rock, and Axe held Paz tighter. “I love you too,” he said. He didn’t know what was happening up there, but he couldn’t let Paz die without him hearing that.

The noise died down and Axe heard a jetpack fire. Seconds later, a Mandalorian in shiny silver armor landed in front of them: the notorious redeemed apostate Din Djarin. “They’re alive!” he called up to the edge. “They need medical attention!” He knelt down in front of Axe and pulled off his helmet to make half-direct eye contact. “Are you alright?” he asked.

Axe didn’t know what to do, what to say, so he shook his head. “Take care of Paz first,” he insisted. “I can wait. He needs help.”

Din pulled Paz to his feet. The strain of the past few days had definitely caught up with him; he looked like he was about to pass out. Axe didn’t feel much better than Paz looked, but like hell was he going to let himself be attended before he knew his husband would be healed. As Din left the crater, holding Paz securely by the waist, Bo-Katan dropped down next to Axe.

“Where’s the fleet?” he asked. His tongue felt thick and clumsy in his mouth. “They were gone, or I would’ve come back with—”

“Easy. TIE bombers attacked and they were forced to flee. They’re back in orbit now, and the Imperial base has been destroyed. Gideon is dead and what remains of the Imperials are being hunted down and eliminated, including the ones who were about to shoot you like ducks in a barrel.” Bo-Katan tilted his chin up. “You rescued a Child of the Watch instead of fighting?”

Axe inhaled and took a moment to clear his mind before responding, to make sure his words would come out without being jumbled. “He’s my riduur,” he said. “I couldn’t—leave him to die.”

Then he blacked out, falling face-first into Bo-Katan’s arms.

Owari no seraph: The weird thing of “Mika having to disappear” and the first’s plan *spoiler alert*

Most people and even Guren, Krul and Mahiru, think Mika has to be sacrificed in order to save humanity, but here’s what I thought was a bit strange:

The first’s plan to revive his son Mikaela and humanity seems to be exactly the same as Guren and Mahiru’s plan: 7 Sinful Keys, everyone involved in the spell becomes immortal and the lives of all vampires. Mika is currently a demon, only turning him human again would cost the life of every human, so this spell wouldn’t affect him, right? And if Yuu became immortal because of the whole procedure, they even could be together forever, since demons can’t die unless they are exorcised.

But there’s more: Guren and Mahiru think they are acting out of the first’s plan if Mika was turned into a demon, they even thought the same when turning Mika into a vampire (because dead vampires become demons), but they are still acting within Shika’s plan. Shikamadu said in chapter 107 “It’s too soon for Mika to become Yuu’s demon”, so it was in his plan but only at a later time.

Ashera was actually dying without any cause (But is he really?). He wants to redeem his sister Krul, which would’ve happend anyways. Him realizing that he has only been used by Shikamadu (chapter 117) and trying to block Yuu, was useless, since the outcome would’ve been the same.

And why would Shikamadu, plan this whole thing if it really endangered Mika’s life? The only people, that are currently acting out of order are Mika and Yuu, since Yuu thinks, he’d have to turn Mika human and Mika thinks everyone’s lives are at stake if he doesn’t vanish completely (or he knows only turning him human has these risks but misunderstands Yuu, who is most definitely only concerned about losing Mika right now).

Predictions: Mika and Yuu, looking for a solution in the past, will probably reveal to them what happend, what Shikamadu really plans, where Yuu’s feelings originate and that they really could’ve misunderstood something.

A second theory would be that Yuu is the one still acting into the first’s plan and that, everything since Yuu getting to know Mika can’t become human again, was an anticipated reaction, so Yuu is actually trying to make him human again. What covers this would be the other vampire’s suspect, that Shikamadu is lying and the 3-step plan was only a smokescreen for something else. So they all should think, this is the way, but Yuu will be the only one to know how it’s really done. But why would Shikamadu go that far and not just call it quits at the Mika-became-a-demon-stage? He wanted his son back and he has already, so the others could just go on without any problems or conflict of interest? That’s where I’m out of ideas but tbh I would have no problem with Yuu and Mika dying together in the end (as Yuu stated how it should happen if they get killed) or both of them living together forever and raising children together in an orphanage. (Both of their biggest wishes)

Kagami stated, that he loves happy ends and ONS is about Mika and Yuu, as well as their fate together. They also have been compared with Romeo and Juliet, so I think separating them is not really an option that makes sense. Both suffered so much from the beginning, everyone tries to tear them apart, but they still find eachother every time. Ever since the beginning they both are in a situation, which neither of them has control over. Mika being the cursed child, destined to die and both having to go separate ways and everyone telling them, they can’t be together. People in the Manga also always say Yuu’s way too stubborn and that they know “being with Mika is not really what he wants, it’s just manipulated emotions” and he needs to see the reality of things, because that’s what a mature person would do. (Same with people in realife XD)

The whole concept of ONS is about breaking Taboos, and Mika being the cursed child, not allowed to be together with Yuu is one of these “taboos”. Even the choice of making both leads male was genius if you think of it that way. So wouldn’t it make more sense if Yuu shows everyone he wasn’t just wasn’t just stubborn and naive and defies everyone who took control over his and Mika’s life and told them no. If it was about a “tragedy” the tag “tragedy” would be in the genre, but it isn’t. It would be tragedy if the story was about “both are being separated, with no control at all, all they did was suffer and that’s life kids”. Yuu and Mika are the main characters separating them would be no happy end, especially if both’s happiness is to be with the other.

Now, many people see GureShin parallels in Mika and Yuu and say “this is just one of Kagami’s bury your gay tropes”, but what if he planned all that. What if the plan is to show, that Yuu and Mika could do what Guren and Shinya didn’t? Same as showing how Yuu and Mika are stronger than all that misery, that was imposed upon them. So, I don’t think these two will be separated, if everyone in the production, including Kagami himself says “fate together”, “Romeo and Juliet” and “breaknig taboos, going against god” “likes happy endings” and both only being happy together.

Addition: There are more GureMahi paralells with Mika and Yuu, Shinoa isn’t really the new Mahiru, but just becoming like Yuu. I mean all the things Shinoa did and feels, especially the confession is the same as Yuu feels towards Mika. Shinoa confessed “I can’t live on without you. Don’t go anywhere without me”, Yuu literally said the same to Mika in chapter 119 and her going Yanderemode, is the same as Yuu going yandere, to keep Mika safe. And Guren seems to have loved Mahiru since the age of 5? It wouldn’t really fit if Mahiru’s placeholder, becomes Shinoa, if ONS should be a repetition and lesson of Guren’s story, with Yuu as Guren 2.0. Since Yuu seems to have known and liked Mika, even before Mika died in his original state. And I personally think that currently Yuu's way more yandere than Mika has ever been. I just want to say that ONS could be the lesson to the catastrophy, as in: Don’t make happen again, what happend to Guren, Mahiru and Shinya and fight against, who destined this to happen anyways, which doesn’t seem to be the first’s fault (this is about the Balu project, I have a few theories about that if someone wants to ask me ^^) plus, that’s why the characters won’t be or act the same as their predecessor or need to end up in the same constellation, if that’s not how the characters really feel.

hiiiii it was like 2017, he was at comic con in my city and i couldn’t believe it. as soon as it was announced i bought a ticket to the con but m&g’s were sold out so i didn’t get a photo op sadly. i first saw him from a far and i started to get so emotional bc wow the king of football is literally breathing the same air as me, i would’ve been happy with just seeing him. but i got sooo lucky bc my sister saw an old acquaintance working the venue and he let us in the back rooms to “use the toilet” lmao and at that moment pele was walking back to i think where the dressing rooms were idk what the doors led to tbh but i think that’s where all the guests stay so i was in the corridor with my sister and i started shaking really badly like i was so starstruck😭 he was walking towards where i was standing and saw i was wearing my brazil shirt and smiled at me. my sister nudged me and said go say hi so i shuffled over and said hi but i was shaking so bad i can’t even remember what i said i think i just kept repeating “thank you thank you” which is soooo embarrassed about like what’s wrong with me sjjsjsjs but he was so sweet he said it was nice to meet me and i shook his hand and then security kinda shuffled him along. i remember thinking i could die right then and never want for a thing. i really am happy my sister told me to go say something bc that would’ve been my biggest regret. still have no idea why he was in the uk but i thank god everyday

i also met a few other people like from tv and to explain how out of it i was the whole day, i recently found a pic i got signed from one guy from game of thrones in my drawer and i literally had NO memory meeting him😭😭😭😭 that day was a blurrrrr

Dumping all my thoughts about the finale:

I loved the progression of Marc and Steven together having now achieved cooperative control after they’d broken down their memory barriers; Steven knowing how to fight and defend himself and others while Marc’s showing more temperance and faith in himself, esp. when Harrow was talking about his mother pulling out “the weed” to prevent what happened to Randall—it would’ve hit too close to home and I don’t think Marc would have been able to handle it at all prior to his journey of acceptance in the last ep but now that he has better access to Steven’s emotional intelligence, he seems more at peace with himself which was honestly lovely to see

Layla and Taweret working together makes me ridiculously emotional, and I really hope Taweret sticks around and stays friends/allies with her even if they no longer remain linked through the avatar business. And I hope Taweret is able to help her find some peace around her father’s death. I’m not a big MCU person generally speaking and I don’t always love massive CGI superhero fights so a lot of this ep felt like Avengers 5 or something which is personally not my favourite thing (though I’m relieved that the Hulk or whatever didn’t show up for a cameo fkdjdbsb), but I do think it’s extremely cool and exciting to see an Egyptian woman as a superhero (even if it was a bit much that Marvel was patting itself on the back about it mid-episode lol)

I’m v happy about the fact that they returned to Steven’s apartment in the end. I’ve seen a few people question this but I think it’s a nice full-circle moment. It was pretty obvious that that’s the life Marc wanted: to have Steven’s peace and safety and simplicity, and whether Steven is back working at the museum or not, I feel like they’ll be happy living there together like a pair of lil goldfish besties. Having said that, l do hope Layla’s going to work things out with them and, back to the emotional intelligence thing, I think Steven is going to be instrumental in repairing their relationship and having certain difficult convos that Marc couldn’t handle on his own (at least until they realise they’re still missing time and that Something’s Up and they figure out the deal with Jake)

There’s a pretty uncomfy undertone in the way they’ve painted Jake to be the “bad one” that’s super sus to me, and also plays into harmful stereotypes around DID patients having an “evil side” or being unpredictably violent. It’s clear that Jake’s supposed to be, if not an outright bad guy then at least morally questionable considering he seems weirdly elated about killing people (and yeah, Harrow definitely needed to die, but like the music choices and showing Jake grinning creepily as he chooses to continue working for Khonshu def has a certain Vibe). I’ve seen a few comments on the fact that he’s Spanish-speaking too, and while I’m sure that was Oscar Isaac’s idea because we know Steven’s British accent was his idea and it makes sense to differentiate the alters as clearly as possible through distinct voices/accents/languages, it kind of adds another layer that’s just a bit…hmm, and I wish we’d gotten to see a little more dimension to him because people who haven’t read the comics are likely just going to be like “Oh, there’s a bad one!” and why wouldn’t they? because the show gave us no nuance to suggest otherwise

This is maybe an unpopular opinion? but I’m a bit sad to see that it looks like we are probably getting a second season/film/whatever, just because I feel like wherever they decide to take it now, it’s going to stray farther from the core allegory around healing and mental illness and being a really emotional character-based story which tbh is the main thing I was really here for in the first place (and also just to Look at Oscar Isaac because come on now let’s be honest ldndn). But I really did fall v hard for this version of Marc and Steven and feel invested in their relationship with Layla and their future together so who knows! Regardless I will probably just stfu and greedily inhale whatever content they decide to produce for us to consume

Okay, SO MUCH HAPPENS IN THIS SEASON, but here are Natalie’s top 10 takeaways of season 5:

10. Courtney Henggeler, please call me. You are so hot, I cannot even deal. Also, Amanda remains my favorite queen, no contest, not even close. AND LET HER AND JOHNNY BE FRIENDS, DAMMIT.

9. Okay, my crush out of the way, SO MANY FUCKS THIS SEASON. OprahGiveaway.gif. But that being said, you know who STILL didn’t get one? Miguel. This is uncalled for at this point. Let the boy say fuck, we know he has a cursing problem already!

8. I’m glad we weren’t in Mexico long. I hope that’s the last we see of Hector Salazar. I get why it was important for Miguel but if we were going to waste the time, we could’ve at least gotten more than 2 seconds of awkwardness between Miguel, Robby and Johnny while we were there

7. You know what would’ve been better than Johnny getting his shit together because of the Karate Prince(ss) who was promised? Johnny getting his shit together because of the two boys he has right there who have such complicated relationships with him and who he has failed repeatedly for the last four seasons. Alas…

6. What IS important though is that Johnny got his shit together. And so did Daniel! I am very proud of all the LaRusso’s this season and this literally has never happened in my history of watching this show which I will touch on with Sam. But seriously, once Johnny more or less got the news of Azor Hiyah, he really did kind of just push out all the bullshit and focus on repairing his relationships with Robby and Miguel which allowed him to be the best version of himself, I think — a decent dad, and a badass sensei. So seriously, good for Johnny. After all the regression last season, this made me so happy.

5. Same with Daniel, tbh! While it was… a little touch and go for me as someone who often feels like Daniel is the cause of much of the problems Daniel faces, I’m glad he actually came around and figured out what he needed to — that this isn’t just HIS fight and hasn’t been since he decided to drag a whole host of people into it. I’m also glad that Sam is figuring out that she needs to integrate her want to do right and her desire to be the best. The lesson about fighting for something rather than against something was so important for her, and I’m glad she’s getting better.

4. Badass karate lady is scary but I really love her. I hope she plays a big role with Kreese next season. Like I am really hyped for whatever Kreese is going to do now that he’s on the move again, and given the way she reacted to Kreese not meeting them at the plane, and the little flashback, she obviously has a lot of respect for Kreese and I think they’re going to be a terrifying team up.

3. Tory Nichols I would literally die for you. I love you, my little meow meow. You are so much better than life keeps trying to tell you that you are, and you were such a hero this season. I am a little disappointed with how they handled the patching up with Sam (Sam owes Tory an apology and I hope one day Tory gets that apology) but I was just really happy with how Tory’s storyline played out this season. I also called her being the one to stick the article of Stingray and Kreese in the LaRusso mail.

2. Chozen and Hawk are the same in their respective friends groups (adults vs kids). Love of a girl makes them go off the rails? Check. Fall to the dark side and have to journey to earn back their honor? Check. Fashionistas? Check. The method of problem solving for their friends involves kicking the shit out of the enemy? Check. Seriously, he needs to be Chozen’s champ. Johnny has Miggy. Daniel has Robby and Sam. It only makes sense that Chozen be Hawk’s. Tory’s too. #givehawkasensei

1. The real winners this season? Anyone who BroT3’s Hawk/Miguel/Robby. Seriously, I know the Kiaz shippers are probably going nuts (good for them tbh), but I am all about Robby/Miguel/Hawk being a terrifying karate trio and also besties (Demetri can come too, I guess).

There’s so much more that I want to talk about — Miguel and Robby really hashing their shit out and being SO MATURE! The peak comedy this season (which has been sorely missing from 3 and 4 both). The relationship drama not actually blossoming! Chozen stealing literally every scene he’s in (the egg scene was SO SIDJDKFKALA SO GOOD MORE OF THIS PLEASE). Overall, I am just REALLY happy with this season. Definitely the best one since season 2 for sure. It was so packed and non stop and didn’t feel like it lagged anywhere and while there are some things I wish we had gotten it gotten more of, I feel more like we didn’t get them because there was so much other shit going on and they didn’t have time, not because the writers dropped the ball.

Ugh, I’ve missed this show so much 🖤 good to see it’s back in top form again.

so i just watched secrets of dumbledore for the third time and hhhhhh i’ve got so many things to talk about i don’t even know where to start!! obviously, this is full of spoilers btw

i love jacob he’s amazing. i love how he held his pan in the beginning and how he put the niffler in it. i also love how he told queenie that dumbledore was wrong about his heart being full because there will always be space for her in it like boy adkgjfjg he’s so in love with her he’s so sweet

then there’s lally and omfg i love her. she’s so cool?? like? i love her she’s amazing the scene where jacob 'tried to assassinate grindelwald'? amazing amazing i loved it

yk how the first message we see on the mirror was 'forgive me' and it was written by aberforth? idk abt you guys but when i first watched the movie i was like hmm but then forgot about it and when i re-watched it it made so much sense. very good example of a hermeneutic circle imo

then there’s the scene where the qilin walked past both santos and tao and they looked at eachother for a second. and it wasn’t a look of 'why isn’t it me?' but of 'why is it neither of us/why is it him?' and i loveddd that hhhh. it really shows that they would’ve been happy with either of them as the winner and that they respect and like eachother. i love that for them and everybody else bc that means they’d both be at least decent leaders

i prefer short-haired credence. he just.. looks like snape. this brings us to my moms theory, being that he’ll become snape. i’m too lazy to type it all out rn but she’s actually got more points than i thought at first, dven though i believe it’s too crazy to be true lol.

so, we didn’t see nagini in here at all and... i’m not really disappointed? even though i thought i’d be? she just didn’t fit the plot this time but i hope to see her in the next movie

i really really like mads as grindelwald. he looks exactly like i’ve always imagined grindelwald looking and honestly, he acts him really well. i liked johnny as grindelwald but he was always a miscast for me and mads fits him so much better imo. a friend of mine said she prefers johnny bc he’s johnny bc he feels a lot more like an actual authority but tbh, i like how mads makes me feel more like he’s a normal person. like, he’s not connected to normal people at all and everybody sees him as authority anyway, but it doesn’t feel like he’s better and different from others?? because, in the end, he’s just some guy with fantasies? idk

now, then there’s the second qilin that bowed before dumbledore and santos. i liked that it bowed before dumbledore, it enhanced the plot and it fits, so, yes. it bowing before santos? zero plot enhancement, unneccessary and a waste of potentional. ever since i saw jacob 'playing' with the qilin for the firat time, it was clear for me that it’ll bow before him. especially after all the 'you’ve got a filled heart' talk and everybody else who called him a good guy. and just imagine how much plot enhancement we would’ve gotten! if he was the second person it’d bowed to, the people would’ve seen that muggles are good (i mean, many know, but for the sake of the crowds mind/not thinking for yourself and following the crowd (which btw was shown really well during the scenes in bhutan, imo)) and it would’ve also helped jacob to believe all of the talk about him being a good guy. i mean, santos would’ve won anyways because neither dumbledore nor jacob were candidates so the people should’ve just voted and i’m quite sure she would’ve won, so... i’m kinda mad it didn’t bow before jacob.

i really liked the scenes of, before and right after the duel between dumbledore and credence. idk, they were really pretty and i loved the ,,he’s not here for you. he’s here for me.’’ especially because credence clearly doesn’t know it’s because he’ll die soon, bdcause if he did, he would’ve said it’s there for dumbledore. but dumbledore knows and i think this is where he realises that he’s dying very soon, it’s the first time he sees the phoenix near credence.

i only realised when i watched it the second time but do you know who’s there when grindelwald 'revives' the qilin? 1) credence, obviously, which makes sense, because he wants him there, and we know that anyway because he talks to him during the scene. 2) that girl from paris (i hate her, btw), which also makes sense, because she’s where he is at least 99% of the time, unless he sends her away. and 3) vogel. ?? i mean, we know he’s rooting for grindelwald, at least after the scene where he tries to show that his qilin is alive (which it isn’t, and he knows), but i didn’t know the two were that close. tbh, i can’t really think of any other reason grindelwald wanted him there except for him trusting him not to tell anyone and wanting him to see it for whatever reason i can’t think of right now. it took a lot of trust though, he could’ve given him the not-so-alive qilin anyway without telling him about anything of that, but he chose to have him watch. really makes me wonder about their history. i mean, he only had people there with him who he trusted and who were, in a way, very close to him. so what exactly was vogel doing there??

then there’s grindelwald and dumbledores battle and afkfjghfgsfh. i’m not going to repeat what everybody else on here already said about it but. the small step grindelwald made towards dumbledore when he walked away to pick up the blood pact. right in the feels. the ,,who’s going to love you now, dumbledore?’’ right in the feels. also, is it just me or is that a clear statement of him still loving dumbledore? because, like, it’s clear that he did love him, just from this sentence alone. but it very heavily implies that he still loves him but now he defenitly has to stop because they’re gonna have to fight.

i reaaally like yusuf kama, btw! i feel like he’d be great as both a 'good' or a 'bad' guy and ngl i’m just excited to see more of him in general because i think he’s very interesting

* The promise ring! When/how did Mike gift it to El? How did he frame it (eg, as a promise ring, or something a bit less intense?) And how did he do this without saying the L word?!? 😂

* What happened when El woke up after the piggyback/mind battle/Mike’s monologue?

* What’s the status of the Mileven relationship at the end of S4?

* What happens in S5? Do you envisage a time jump working? Are Mike and El separated again as Hawkins gets swallowed by the UD?

* Will there be a happy ending for Mike and El? Lots of speculation that it will all come full circle in the final season with El making the ultimate sacrifice again to save the world. Personally I think that would be a deeply dissatisfying end — let my girl be happy!

Awhh thank you anon and thank you for these questions!! I feel like these aren't the most articulate thoughts by any stretch, but like you said, gotta get the ball rolling, so first:

Is the promise ring confirmed?? I saw a post about it but it was from a non-Netflix/ST account so I wasn’t sure. If Mike did give it to her, I actually think he might’ve sent it in the mail with one of his letters, because we didn’t see it in S3, right? I can see him sending it and just saying ‘I saw this and thought you’d like it, hopefully it makes you think of me’, something cute and nervous like that lmao

Ugh I don’t know what happened when El woke up from the mind battle because the Duffle Bags had to hit us with that cursed ‘Two days later’ time jump, which is the bane of my existence — like why?? Why?? I imagine they would’ve talked it all through and been there for each other through processing what happened, but I’m sure they were all so worried about what was going on in Hawkins that the trip home was tense in general

I think it’s pretty clear where Mike & El were at by the end of S4. Despite some posts I’ve seen, I don’t find a reason to overthink the ending and how they didn’t interact a ton — like I said, I’m sure they talked and processed together in that two-day stretch, and being in Hawkins and seeing Max and the destruction, and also reuniting with Hop was a lot for El to process, and I think she knew it was safe to let herself go through that without having to worry how Mike would take it

I’ve barely processed S4 enough to have predictions yet for S5, but given that the Duffles have said they’re back to S1 pairings/groupings, I think if Mike & El are separated it’ll be brief, or it'll be by their own volition because of how they have to deal with the threat at hand

I do think there will be a happy ending for Mike & El, and that’s something I can expand on later when I’ve thought it through more, but at this point I feel it’s been clearly outlined given how S4 played out (and their whole journey leading up to that, tbh). I totally see why people theorize that El might have to die or sacrifice herself, but I don’t think that will happen. I think the point of her journey this season was to see how love -- all the forms of it she has in her life -- is enough, and she can be fuelled by that, and it can sustain her. Not to say there won’t be losses in S5, but I think this season was about shifting how she understands her power and where to draw it from and what that means for protecting the people she loves.

In terms of fic recs, I haven’t read any ST fic for so long, so unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be much of a help — but I guess I’d say, use those filtering tags as aggressively as you need to on AO3, lol. If anyone has good recs please feel free to reply with them!

Again please let me know if there's stuff you want me to expand on, this felt haphazard hfshj just trying to get the analysis vibes flowing again!
