Alan Wake (whose face and voice we find on Thomas Zane and Casper Darling, respectively) ends up in an antagonistic relationship with Alex Casey (whose face and voice we find on Sam Lake and Zachariah Trench, respectively).
Casper Darling and Zachariah Trench? By the end, their relationship was antagonistic.
The Casey-Trench voice was once a guide-friend for Wake-Darling.
And then, they were fighting.
One was suspicious of the other, thinking he was lying, hiding something.
While the other was unaware of the darkness that was growing and consuming the former's mind, his ignorance letting it fester. Feeding it, even.
The original faces, Thomas Zane and Sam Lake? In this latest iteration they've spoken with their own voices while in the Dark Place, only in the presence of a camera.
Alan Wake and Zachariah Trench? In the end, while in a nightmare dimension, both get shot by a woman who both of these men meddled in their lives, threatening the well being of their loved one.
At least one had a hand in his fate, willing it, accepting it. The other? He was fully gone, his will overtaken by the nightmare.
A version of Alex Casey did say it after all. He and writer, they were the same.
And finally, the real Sam Lake? By happenstance he offered his face for a collaborative project, and became a symbol. Even if he tried to fight it, tried to replace it, he had to concede. The story demanded it, as if writing it wasn't enough, the narrative claimed his visage.
There's no need to make overt mentions or put the image of the Ouroboros in posters. The serpent is interwoven in the fabric of the narrative itself.

How do you think the Nora/Peter/Eva triangle was resolved after the war?
Honestly, I favor a world where Peter and Eva are close friends and coparents, but that's it. As much as I want to believe in them for Marco's sake, Peter implies in #15 that he liked fake!Eva better than the real thing and states outright in #45 that he'd rather be with Nora. We see Peter and Eva getting along well in #46 - #53, but we don't actually see evidence of them being together as a couple, and their rekindling is partially based on a lie Marco told about Nora.
Throw in the fact that Eva's "a different person" after being controllerified for so long (#45), one who is not particularly nice but is certainly assertive. Throw in the "disgustingly affectionate" interaction we get between Peter and Nora in #35, #40, #45. Throw in the implication that Peter had never washed a dish or swept a floor in his life before Eva "died", and that Marco had to take over those jobs for years after. I think it's better for everyone (sorry Marco) if Peter stays married to Nora after the war.

There are places where I think a sex scene can dramatically impact a story in a way that enriched the viewing experience and conveys important information. There are movies and/or tv shows in which this happens. I haven’t seen any of them. So much of the time it’s there to do exactly what it says on the tin. A woman and a man are banging. Sure. Fine. Happy for them. It’s just a literal scene used to pull a bit of a ‘well you didn’t think THEY would be involved’ plot twist or a ‘we’re so edgy’ signal. The only show so far that I’ve seen that uses sex scenes as an actual tool of storytelling is Black Sails, and the reason it works in Black Sails is that the sex is Bad. People are bored. People are distracted. The characters are so bound up with the plot that it’s physically prevented them from fucking like normal human beings. That works. The rest doesn’t

a lot of people have very valid complaints about the writing in tl s3 surrounding colin's coming out*/treatment of poc and i agree with all of it. would also like to point out that it REALLY bothers me how barb is treated throughout all of it. she is (to me) pretty apparently autistic and jack+keeley are constantly taking shots at her out of the blue. all the time. for Autistic Things (i.e. they made fun of her low empathy). its not explicit and its not to her face, but it still is really bugging me that this specific character with her specific mannerisms who is played by an autistic actress is being singled out to be the butt of the joke. on multiple occasions. for no real reason.

I’m rewatching Trigun Stampede and just realized I might be a day off for part of my timeline.
Just in case the subtitles on the version I’m watching are slightly off, and to triple check, can anyone with Crunchyroll/hulu or anyone who can speak Japanese check the subtitles/translation in episode 2 at about timestamp 21:34 and confirm if Roberto says “Wait... You told me his name this morning.” after asking who Vash is running from? I would greatly appreciate it.
