Why is the anime so weird, it's not even the same series dude?? It's like,
Anime:
GOKU: I have a great idea to bring peace to the universe, and my leadership and compassion alone will unite us all. I have No Flaws and am A True Relatable Everyman :)
VEGETA: NO! I AM THE BEST AND I WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS UNTIL I AM RECOGNIZED AS SUCH!!!!
Manga:
GOKU: Vegeta what's cornmeal made of? I know it's what the corn eats, but what's it made of?
VEGETA: Hey Kakarot let's play the quiet game until one of us dies.

There’s something about duality of fandoms, on one hand there’s so many cool metas and gorgeous arts and you meet your friends… and at the same time so many shitty opinions and the fandom literally giving you creeps at certain points - to the point that you’re starting hating some ideas and they’re ruining your mood and you realise you need to step away because soon you won’t even be able to look at that tv show anymore.

I don't think I can truly express how much it physically upsets me to hear the words Dazai says to Akutagawa in season 1, when he's captured by the Mafia.
It genuinely makes me sick to my stomach because...why?
"You were so difficult to train when you first started out."
"You were such a slow learner, and you could never follow directions."
"And then there's that useless ability of yours."
"My new apprentice is superior to you in every way imaginable."
Just...why? This is the first time you have had a proper talk with him in 4 years. You had a chance to fix things. You're supposedly better now. A good man. Akutagawa didn't even do anything; does the man offend you by like, existing? Breathing?
Do you truly not wish to make any amends?
Could you think of no other possible way for sskk to happen? Really, you?
The Dazai Osamu didn't have a better idea?
I find that hard to believe.

ok no im so tired but ive had this Thing a Laughingstock Concept Thing in my Brain for Days Now and its.... basically what if Barnaby adopted a lil caterpillar. like it's not sapient or anything its literally A Wriggly Puppet Prop. but he finds it in his home and it reminds him of Howdy and he keeps it. he carries it everywhere. he treats it so tenderly and names it and everything. his delusional smitten subconscious is like "omg... mine & howdy's <3" he and Howdy are not even together at this point
so Barnaby cares for this lil caterpillar and Howdy ends up getting attached as well, because he's on the same shit as Barnaby. and eventually the lil caterpillar pupates, and they watch over the chrysalis So Excited to see what lil wormie will look like as a butterfly. and it emerges and they're so proud and weirdly emotional. the butterfly takes off on its first flight and lands on a flower patch
just in time for Eddie to trip and fall on the patch, instantly crushing it And the butterfly

That post about cannibalism becoming too mainstream and destigmatized by certain sections of the internet and therefore losing its weight and horror and visceral nature just has me thinking about how HABIT ate a baby and everyone was like oh lmao he’s just an edgy cool guy!!!! He’s just like me fr!! Haha!!! Which. I think not enough people are freaked out by the fact that he forced Evan to eat his own child raw and possibly alive. He mentions “the bones” and implies that it took awhile. Like that wasn’t Hannibal-style Brioche With Baby Pâté and Shredded Zucchini in a Plum Vinaigrette, he just opened Evan’s mouth and bit down until the job was done, and I think that says a lot more about Habit than people want to examine. Idk it just. has me thinking. The number of times hurting children comes up in entries and supplementary materials about HABIT is kind of overwhelming, really. I’ve seen people talk about how they think he’d draw the line at hurting children, but the source material goes out of its way to state otherwise- just about every time he’s in contact with children they die. Or worse. He’s the summation of the worst of humanity, the combined aggregate of all of our flaws and crimes, and one of those crimes is cannibalism, so honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if he made a habit (ha) of it.

Y'know what? I don't blame Hek for being "dog reactive" to be completely honest with you. Neither of us feels safe around other dogs, even dogs on leash! Quite frankly, I'm happy she looks at other dogs because sometimes she sees them before I do! (I do want to clarify that this is all she does, and I like as I find it useful)
We were just out on a relaxing walk when two kids with an out of control dog on a retractable leash came around the corner. It started barking with its hackles up at us as soon as it spotted Bean. THE KID LET THE DOG CHASE US!?! LAUGHING!!! I swear I almost OCd that thing right in its face it was so close to Hekate. She stayed right at my side but kept watching the dog still barking, trying to get at her. I don't blame her! Those kids chased after us for half a freaking block! They didn't listen to me screaming at them to get their dog away. They didnt listen to me screaming that I would OC their dog. They just kept laughing and letting it come after us!

I know it’s been said before, but you spark so much joy with your headcanon & arthur/eames discussions 🥺 also! Still thinking of that pic of Tom Hardy in a muscle tee & other recent photos of him where he is lots of grey in his beard. Idk if you saw JGL at the ceremony where he presented rian Johnson with an award but he had a deep velvet plum suit on, a beard and his hair is long & wavy. & now I’m thinking about older eames/Arthur who are comfortable happy and still sickeningly in love
Nonnie!!!!!!! Thank you so much for stopping by, these asks always are so thought provoking and indulge me so much, I'm always happy to talk about Arthur/Eames and Inception in general!
Okay so, I had not seen that video and I am SO GLAD you brought it to my attention. JGL LOOKS SO FREAKING GOOD!!! THE SUIT!!! THE BEARD!!! THE CURLS!!!!!! Oh my god. If anyone has not seen the video check it out here you wont regret it.
And, you said it -- "Comfortable, happy and (still) sickeningly in love" is all I want for Arthur and Eames (and my life tbh). My headcanon is that they settle down and retire and while they still dabble in a little criminal action here and there (like being criminally sexy!!!) they live quieter lives a handful of years after the Fischer job. They love each other, right? They want to be safer because they want to build a life over building dreams, because life can be so short, you know, and I think in the film you learn just that--anything can happen at any given moment and you just...slow the hell down. Even when that means taking life in the slow lane and changing course - and so they do.
I imagine Arthur and Eames in their forties and fifties, teaching and consulting for work - Eames being disgusted every time he does his taxes and Arthur being disgusted with himself for wearing polo shirts in the summer and secretly loving it. They are starting to go grey, more grey with every handful of years - they are starting to go soft in places. There are crows eyes and forehead lines and heartburn and creaky bones. Diets to manage IBS and blood pressure. Worse, they start to do things their parents used to do -- like watch the news on TV and mutter into their dinner about idiot politicians and neighbours who park like dickheads on the street and wont trim their trees back out of their yard, and they reminisce about how things were different when they were kids and seriously why the fuck are they the only normal people who live on this street?
They keep busy. They learn new things. For his forty-fifth birthday Arthur builds Eames a library in their Philadelphia home with his bare hands. Eames buys the battered skeleton of a '67 Ford Mustang and restores it for Arthur. They read books and watch movies in bed and keep guns in their bedsides just in case. They go on long drives together and still sometimes travel the world to see old faces and so they still remember what it feels like to be homesick and miss the good life. Eames' knees play up. Arthurs back has seen better days. They're uncles to their siblings kids and to Phillipa and James. And they take that job very seriously.
They still have their domestics and spats every now and then. But they make up and move on. They're partners (in life and crime) and they get their thrills out of making the other happy. They're the people the other cannot wait to come home to.
They have always attempted to manufacture their own luck and they finally did it because here they are, content and happy.

I... Like (hate) the theory that Dazai sent Akutagawa to Atsushi's rescue already knowing he would have died, but I like even better the theory that Akutagawa's last deed to save Atsushi was a first (and last) act of free will: Akutagawa doing something completely unexpected that Dazai could not predict and finally - if only in his last moments - freeing himself from Dazai's conditioning.

so my work is supposed to offer grooming and training for the ouppies (as well as daycare and boarding) but. we dont have a groomer or trainer yet. i was told we'd get a groomer early 2024. we have not. the main reason i want a groomer is so that we can offer nail trimming services. i love all my kids but some of them have Knife Toes

I just took the dogs out for a walk down the hill into the woods, or I tried to. Met the neighbour's mum walking his dogs down there. All 4 dogs were off leash. I saw what was about to happen before she did. Jack and Oscar B-lined for each other and there was snarling and snapping and hackles were up. They managed to part and Oscar sniffed the lady's leg, which was shocking because he doesn't like people, either. So I scooped Oscar up and carried him away and apologized to her a bunch and said my little one isn't friendly and I was gonna take them home and I was so so so sorry. I have never met them down there before, but I guess it was bound to happen. Thankfully nobody is hurt and everything was fine. It didn't go as badly as I would have thought.
I didn't want to take them for a walk down our usual route because there is a new person living down that way with a dog that I have seen loose a few times and I don't think it's friendly with other dogs, so we officially have zero safe directions to walk our dogs in town. Every single route there are loose dogs that have already attacked us before, OR I know aren't friendly.
I'm so disappointed. I'm so so so disappointed. Idk what to do anymore. I can't take my dogs anywhere. Oscar HATES being in the car. Not that there is anywhere I can really drive them to anyway.

reminding myself we kept egan alive & happy with idiopathic megae (disgusting and evil disease) for almost 2 years. sacrificing literal time with family and friends. sacrificing holidays. sacrificing time together. so much money. and we did it happily, for him, and never in a million years would i have let him go if i didn’t know in my gut it was right. i would have sacrificed again and again for him. i don’t care
i need to stop listening to people who are like “i spent $1738283 on my dogs care and never gave up and now they’re okay again!” cause that’s 1) so privileged and 2) not the norm. if a vet recommends euth, and they’re a good vet, it’s usually because they’re right. it’s time. anything outside of that is an outlier
