might be random but like. people (i.e. cis women) genuinely do not fucking understand the difference between "lol men" jokes and mocking transmasc people. like if you're joking about an oppressive group like men, that's "punching up" and it's not being derogatory towards any minority, and those jokes inherently include trans men because they're also men (unless they're specifically about cis men) which is fine because you're not singling out and mocking a minority. but that whole "once trans men transition they're all gross and lazy and (insert oppressive gender role here)" shit is GROSS like ???????? you're not mocking cis men or men in general (not a marginalized group) you're mocking trans people (marginalized group) and those trans people being men doesn't make the transphobia okay?????????? make it make sense??????????????????
Yeah but tbh I also generally dislike "I hate men" attitudes (just joking around is fine, punching up at groups of men who actually oppress the one talking about it i.e trans women talking abt hating trans men, white cis women talking about hating white cis men) because the main people that do this are cis white women who also use it as an excuse to hurt trans men and men of color so it makes me really uncomfortable generally
Like trans men don't have privilege over cis women, for them to do that transphobia as a systematic issue would have to cease existing. Trans men are still discriminated against by doctors the same as cis women, assaulted and abused by cis men (bc newsflash misogynists are always also transphobic! Transphobia is an inherent part of misogyny when misogyny is about robbing anyone who isn't a cis man of their autonomy), the trauma that trans men experienced growing up perceived as women doesn't go away when they transition
And that's even IF they transition!
Like insinuating that trans men as a group have privilege over cis men is implying that trans men who don't pass as cisgender men, who can't afford it, don't want to/are gnc, are genderfluid etc. etc. aren't really men!
Like okay I'm not going to go apeshit the moment a cis woman forgets to specify cis when she's making blanket statements about misogyny and I have a lot of bad experiences with both cis and trans men so I get it I really do but it's honestly disgusting how much blatant transphobia is included in thinking that cis men and trans men are on a privilege level even remotely the same or similar.
