I have learned over the past few months that I have been a bad fanfic reader. I have read over 100 fanfics from AO3, and have probably only commented on a couple of them. Why? Because I thought a kudos was how you told someone you loved their fic. But… I was sorely mistaken.

I have always wished I could give a writer more than one Kudos. But you know what’s better than that, A COMMENT! A writer, whose works I love, likened a kudos to giving a chef who just cooked you a fantastic meal a thumbs up. That’s it. It’s the easiest thanks possible. They deserve more.

Fanfic writers put out a story that is near and dear to their hearts. They put themselves and their stories online, subject to criticism and judgement. Spend hours giving us wonderful stories that we fall in love with, and they deserve to know how much those stories affected us. Was there a line I cracked up at? Did it make me happy after a shit day? Was I exhausted the next day because I stayed up till 2am reading? They want to know.

So, I will be going back through all the stories I’ve read these past two years and letting them know how their stories impacted me. Even if it’s a 4 year old story and the writer is no longer active on AO3 I will tell them what piece of their story stuck with me, if it made my day, or gave me relief from my world for a few hours.

So, please make sure you comment. Tell them you loved it! Even if it’s a quick sentence. Let them know, no longer how old the story is. They love it! It makes their day.

im scared

I saw a post on here where people were talking about how mad it made them when people "stole" their tags? And I've been putting posts in the cue and using the tags that pop up that seem related and useful, rather than typing each word out myself ... and I don't always add many extra ones and now I'm scared that I'm making everyone hate me for the tag theft. :( I didn't know tags were ... steal-able ? But I don't see how I can come up with all new tags, and I guess I get it I'm lazy too and typing all those words is a lot of work.

I lost my motivation over the past year, depressive episodes and being trapped in my childhood home have led to comfort eating. I cant look at myself. I cant be me right now. Something has to give, enough self pity.

I will lose the stone I've gained, and then some.

I will reach my goal weight.
