THE MOMENT WE WERE ALL WAITING FOR, FINALLY FINISHED THE DESIGN OF ASTER YESSSSSS ✨✨✨✨✨✨❤❤

This design belongs to the Wish rewrite called "The kingdom of wishes" (Written by @annymation and soon illustrated by @emillyverse and me)

Sorry for the delay, but this guy had so many things to draw and I also had a thousand ideas that it took me a while to capture them all (4 drawings wow, even I'm surprised lol)

Now after this introduction I will tell you the procedure of its design :]

2D MODEL:

-Maybe some don't notice it, but for the 2D drawing of Aster I didn't add many shadows, because in the classic Disney movies the animation doesn't have many shadows if we look closely, this is for several reasons (at that time they had to inking FRAME BY FRAME, can you imagine how much longer it would have taken to add detailed shadows? I really have respect for the animators)

(Here are some examples of what I'm trying to explain)

-As I said before, I didn't detach myself much from the concept art of the movie, I just added some other details that occurred to me, Anny and Emy.

-We decided that his cape would have the constellations of the signs of the zodiac (It was Emy's idea), which in the final result are on the cape, the constellations are noticeable more or less depending on Aster's mood.

-In the Wish rewrite it is mentioned that Aster's hair is like a candle (Reference to Hades) so I decided not to add the lineart in that part

His hair changes depending on his emotions, but not only that, but also his lineart, the calmer he is, the cleaner his animation will be, however with strong emotions (anger, sadness, nervousness) his details will be more neglected, especially when He is REALLY angry, by the way I made his hair look like a flame to give more drama to his design and also make a reference to Ember from Elemental

And as a final detail, the star-shaped gem that she has as a brooch changes color, just like her earrings.

3D MODEL:

-When Aster disguises himself as a human, his details on his clothes would disappear and the shape of his accessories would change to ones without a star shape, also the tone of yellow would look duller, you know so as not to draw attention (although he is dressed like a prince with a giant cape, the boy doesn't know how to hide the truth very well lmao)

-In general, it's just that the design becomes simpler, the only thing that changes is her hair that is no longer a flame, her freckles that are no longer little stars, her clothes no longer have so many details and her mark on her eye disappears(￣▽￣) .

By the way, I wanted to thank @the-autistic-idiot for giving us the great idea of ​​Aster having a star-shaped mark on his eye :D.

-Also, I think that those who have seen my other Wish redesigns are wondering why it seems like I had spit a rainbow at Aster's 3D drawings, what happened is that when I was painting my neurons said ✨Change your coloring✨ and well, The drawing in the end came out like this, although I honestly like it better, it better represents how I draw in a traditional way

Yes, basically the coloring of my drawings is as if a unicorn had spit on them lol

-It was very fun to draw Aster! The boy really has a lot of changes, but thanks to him I already discovered my digital drawing style so I am satisfied.

but the brief interaction opens doors to many opportunities in the future

hobie gets to hear about the brief reunion between you and gwen from her, after she went back to her own dimension before it was show time

he becomes very intrigued by you

next time you two meet is likely after they save the multiverse (WHICH THEY WILL WITH ZERO CASUALTIES UNLESS ITS MIGUEL.)

miguel definitely doesn’t approve of hobie using his watch to travel dimensions just to see you or gwen, still does anyway if he doesn’t just build his own

probably came to see gwen, pick her up to bring him to his own dimension, whatever

hobie’s heard plenty about you from gwen, likes to think you aren’t strangers so is super friendly, overly even

catches you in your room, drawing in a well loved sketchbook

finally got around to doodling my hc designs for these guys :)

(more ramblings under the cut bc i can’t shut up abt them 💀)

scars

- gil has a lot more scars than the others (smaller scars don’t really last unless you wait for a while before healing em with medicine or magic) - most of the early ones on his arms n shit come from training (not allowed to heal himself bc of “discipline” and shit like that) but later ones come from tanking hits for the other two and using his magic on them over himself (he has one that he deliberately chose to keep - a scar on his cheek that mirror’s chip’s from loffinlot that he got from the duel)

- chip’s main scars are the top surgery ones (trans chip my beloved), the one on his left cheek (from the bald men encounter 💀) and two other ones that he got from the duel (he keeps em as a reminder and bc they look cool 😐 - both resemble some of gil’s triton marks)

- jay doesn’t have many noticeable ones but she has a TON on her hands n shit from tinkering - she has a couple burn scars on her arms (from fighting her dad) and a single one over her nose (also from her dad- resembles gil’s markings too bc i can do that. they all match ok)

jewelry/piercings

- early campaign gil had a lot of jewelry (particularly earrings) bc in the undersea it was a status/religious symbol (see: sun/moon earrings) and they made him feel connected to his culture - later on he keeps most of them but gives the important ones to the others (jay ends up with the sun one to match gil’s moon and chip gets the Moist Bond ring lmao) (gil ends up getting more piercings too in order to match the others) bc while he still loves his culture and wants to remember it he also recognizes the unhealthy expectations and abuse he went through as a kid and wants to redefine himself

he doesn’t wear much jewelry but keeps the ring from the b.l.o.c.k. on a necklace. also he has a little friendship bracelet from ollie (they made them together)

- early campaign chip only really has the axe earring but adds more as the campaign goes on (read: he steals more from the others, taking gil’s earrings and jay’s bracelets. they either let him or don’t notice) - he gets piercings to match with the others (eyebrow for jay, nose ring for gil, double ear piercings to fit more earrings) bc it’s just a Pirate Thing and has tattoos representing them on his back :)

he wears some jewelry?? mostly the earrings, but there’s some rings n stuff (along with bracelets stolen from jay)

- jay originally had no piercings (navy standard was no jewelry with some exceptions) but it’s a Big Thing for pirates (crews often had matching accessories and sharing shiny stuff was a sign of trust and respect - see: chip getting them all to match and stealing from them) so she originally only got her ears pierced. after the block (first time at allport) she got her eyebrow piercing (along with the tattoos) to take her mind off everything and “officially” make herself part of the crew (since chip got his too at the time) and later gets snakebites (mimics gil’s big teef)

she really likes necklaces n has some smaller ones but also wear simple bangle bracelets (she doesn’t mind chip stealing em bc they kinda get in the way of working on projects)

hair

- in the undersea + early campaign gil kept his hair fairly short? the elders would make him cut it (for battle purposes) but he really liked playing with long hair and doing stuff with his hands (edyn let him braid her hair and he got really good at it eventually) he kinda let it grow out after being exiled (never found the time and didn’t particularly trust anyone to cut it for him) and he ties it up in a tight bun/ponytail - later he starts cutting it back (around shoulder length) and lets jay do it usually, keeping the bun but letting some out (half-up/half-down) bc he’s letting himself be a bit more unrestricted (also means he can do fun braids and stuff) and finding a middle-ground between his old, restricted identity as champion and new identity as a pirate

- early campaign chip kept his hair super short (yes the buzzcut counts but i don’t like it) bc he was really dysphoric about it :( (it usually looked really shitty bc he cut it himself with a sword 💀 but eventually he lets gil do it (he’s too scared to give jay that much power over him)) - later he’s become more comfortable with himself and his identity and lets it grow out (mullet era) but it’s still kinda choppy and messy bc that’s how he is. he has a couple small braids in his bangs (courtesy of gil) bc he likes em

- early campaign jay kept her hair pretty long but often tied it up in a tight bun (navy standard) but stopped doing that after joining chip (she ended up tying it up in a ponytail, tho, bc she was more used to that) - after the fight with her dad (b.l.o.c.k.) she cuts it back a ton, keeping it around shoulder-length (just long enough to let gil play with it. he likes braiding and she likes the feeling, win-win. she doesn’t let chip within 5 feet of them when they do this tho bc she does not trust him to not ruin it) but has an undercut that shows whenever she ties it up - (like this)

Finally finished with my latest custom doll!

It's a glam take on Minty from My Little Pony (G3), specifically A Very Minty Christmas.

Lots of details went into this doll, and it took far and away longer than any doll I've made before. I lost track, but the hours spent easily go above 20.

Details about the construction below the cut!

Face and body

I started with a Vandala Doubloons base for the face mold, which I sliced open 😱 to create my first set of inset eyes. I just love Vandala's face mold, it's very unique and cute compared to others in the MH line (My base stock box dolls have all been super well loved, btw, so no I didn't destroy a mint in box Vandala. I would NEVER!!) The body was a headless stock box Abby, but I only decided to do that after trying and failing to do a peg-leg transplant on Vandala. It didn't matter, in the long run, since I was going to be painting the entire body anyway. Lots of coats of mint green artist's acrylic, cut with lots of flow builder medium, and about three coats of Mr. Super Clear between those coats of paint, and I had my base.

I knew the silhouette and hair I wanted for Minty from my earliest concept sketches, and looking at them I realized: this silhouette won't look "right" on a standard MH slimline. So it was time for some Apoxie sculpt! I gave her some bust and butt implants, as well as some hip and tummy augmentation to round things out in a way that would better serve the design. Then, more paint and Mr. Super Clear to make the body cohesive.

Hair

The hair is entirely acrylic yarn. Not only wefts, but I also achieved the voluminous high pony look by needle-felting a ratted base, around which the rest of the wefts were attached. Then, I had to curl them. This was by far one of the most time consuming parts of the process, but I love the outcome. I used the hot chopstick technique. That is, heating up a metal chopstick with a straightening iron, and twisting individual strands of hair around it. It keeps the hair from scorching, and allows for some truly tiny, glamorous curls.

Clothes

The gown is hand-sewn, but definitely not removable lmao. It's hard to get such a tight fit on such a tiny doll without using stretch material, and I was using costume satin, so I just glued the bodice down once I'd done all I could with darts and alterations.

The skirt went through a few iterations, with different colors being layered in for the trumpet skirt including sheer mint green, sheer white chiffon, and different shades of pink satin. And yes, those were all fully sewn as I made the decision. 😭 Eventually I went with three tiers in the basic hot pink as the rest of the dress, figuring I would add the contrasting color pops with beading.

Oof, the beading. It was a lot of hand beading. Bedazzling? idk what to call it. All I know is that many hours were spent over a pile of rhinestones and beads with a wax pencil and some Liquid Fusion glue, listening to extremely long YouTube video essays as I worked. The more I added, the more I WANTED to add, and I decided not to pull punches.

I added some volume to the skirt with stiff tulle and a half-assed cage skirt made of armature wire. You can't see it, anyway - it's the EFFECT that matters. Speaking of things you can't see, she's just wearing some unembellished hot pink G1 Draculaura boots. 😂

Details

The accessories, including the peppermints and the Here Comes Christmas Candy Cane, were all made with Apoxie sculpt, hand painted/detailed, and varnished. Perhaps my favorite little detail are her "acrylics," which I added using a technique I saw Hextian use in a video - you touch a dab of hot glue to the doll's finger, then pull it back slowly, and trim once dry. This creates a really fun effect of fake nails.

So yeah. This doll was a labor of love, and I'm so glad I didn't take any half-measures along the way. I'm very proud of her. Hope you like her!

One more note: YES I realize the irony of not having any SOCKS involved in an MLP Minty design. I really do regret this, and agonized over it a LOT. I considered making a “pajamas version” of this same doll so I could do a socks-themed outfit, before I realized the dress would need to be glued on.

I SAW YOUR POST ABOUT THE PSYCHOPOMP HELMET AND I HAVE TO ASK HOW’D YOU MAKE IT??

i wanted to cosplay her at some point in the future but i’ve never tried my hand at prop making or anything of that matter really so i can’t wrap my head around any like basic concepts to make the psychopomp itself 😭😭

sorry for taking abit to answer, wanted to make sure I was at my PC to answer so I can give Exact Images n stuff of what I got/used

warning: you're gonna need some serious power tools for this. alotta bits I had to get help from my dad bc he has SO MANY hobbies that involve power tools lol

SO

For the base:

you need a good helmet. n finding one of those ain't easy, so you're probs gonna haveta Make Do with something you can cut parts off of.

I used something like this, but cut off the parts that jut out at the ears and the lip at the front. The internal bit that keeps your Actual Head from touching the Actual Helmet is VERY helpful bc (atleast w/ mine) it wasnt a layer of foam or anything that'd be finnicky, it was just straps.

theoretically could also use a cheap-y baseball helmet though obvi you still gotta Mutilate it

For the accessories™:

The antannae are actual extendable radio antannae I harvested from an old boombox n another thing, but you can buy JUST the antannae online

the megaphone/satellite dish bit my dad helped me cut n gut a car alarm type thing and attatch it w/ this silicone stuff he had on hand

And the headphone pieces on the sides are a set of vintage radio headphones I found at a thrift store. these to be exact (they're not v rare n go for 10-30 bucks on ebay)

Though any old, chunky headphones could easily work. These were just what I had on hand. And, as a useful thing, the metal prongs connecting to the headband were perfect to easily bolt in place on the helmet and keep them flexible for easy putting on and taking off. The little radio speaker-y bits on the outside I added my dad had laying around though obvi not 1000% Necessary

And that's all really for the easily bought supplies

The front plate is Literally just a chunk of sheet metal he happened to have on hand, and added the bolts to. The fifth bolt in the middle is the only Functional one that actually attatches to the helmet

And the bit keeping the wires in place is a piece of plastic we melted to shape, painted accordingly, then hot glued in place. Added the screws to make it look abit more Cohesive with the rest of it.

The staples specifically on mine are holes drilled then w/ v thin wire fed through and twisted and trimmed.

Some smaller seams n details I added with super glue since it gave a v subtle raised effect, and bc it cracked in shipping I had to super glue some of the cracks back together Anyways lmao

also had to do alot of spraypainting to get it the right color. Make sure to paint the "accessories" seperate before assembly bc trying to tape off everything could end up Annoying and that way the metal bolts and the plate can retain their orig metal color to add contrast.

Also make sure you get Matte paint, bc it'll look goofy shiny. Preferably something meant for outdoor use bc those will have the more gritty textures you're looking for n its easy to find.

For any extra scuffing n details I did some dry brushing w/ grey and black acrylic to add depth. Best way to do it imo is add some drybrush with a scrappy old paintbrush then wipe away some with a paper towel

or just use a paper towel with a v tiny, thinly spread bit of paint

Hopefully this helps atleast some!! If you need more detailed shots of my helmet for better reference just lemme know, I just dont feel like going to grab her rn for a photo shoot lmao

I feel like she'd just have good genetics, so skincare(expensive or otherwise) is usually gifted to her but she rarely uses them (on the other hand, she could be like those celebrity Vogue videos where they slather on every expensive cream known to mankind so either or lmao)

She's a jewelry girlie, and she accessorizes on the daily using rings that could range anywhere from minimalistic for school, like thin gold or silver bands. For when she follows her dad to business meetings, she would wear discreet name brand ones, and maybe her earrings would be a flashy brand to signal everything else she's wearing is of the same caliber.

I think she would prefer practical jewelry that she can wear into the water, but also, she would be the type to methodically arrange, take-off, and clean the jewelry she wore that day.

Specific gemstones she likes would probably be rubies, sapphires(pink and blue), diamonds, and she enjoys gold as the main material for her jewelry over all else.

Make-up is probably less is more for Athy, she doesn't need it and she knows that, but during school she'll wear minimalistic eye-liner to create more depth and choosing between the shades of pink gloss for her lips would give her lots of joy.

Hair accessories would be anywhere from pastel hair ties with little charms dangling at the ends if she has her hair up in a ponytail/pigtails or simple, black velvet ribbons woven through her hair if she has braids or with a pop of color here and there using flowers and mini gold clips if her hair is flowing free down her back.

Fashion-wise, per my last post, I believe she'd be old-money during formal occasions(let's think black skirts, white/navy tops, dark tights and slingback kitten heels, a gold, pearl strand watch and simple studs in her ears), vs school(usually sneakers, pleated skirts of a variety of colors, a bracelet band smartwatch, lowkey jewelry) or going out (jeans/skirts, boots or sneakers, a leather band watch, flowy tops.)

Okay so I imagine that minori would be the first one to gain feelings but they're really slight yk

I'm not too sure about how they would get closer... maybe minori takes an interest in joining archery (totally not mafuyu related/s) and mafuyu shows her the ropes? And mafuyu asks her about some things, maybe to make some small talk, and miori eventually talks about wanting to be an idol, and how it's her dream, how she won't give up on it no matter how many times she fails, no matter what or who thinks she can't or shouldnt do it. And that gives mafuyu a lot to think about.

Minori and mafuyu are just parallels for days. The familiarity with failure VS the idea of anything less than perfection being unimaginable. Minori's parents are so supportive and earnest that it almost made mafuyu a little uncomfortable because of how not used she is to unconditional love. They treat her like a daughter and she Does Not Know How To Handle It (its okay they work through it)

Mafuyu is very heavy handed with the affection (in her own way) and minori combusts at ANY affection. You can imagine what their early relationship is like from that fact

2. Epi has a bracelet he’s supposed to be wearing that’s magically infused to help him control his uncontrollable shapeshifting in times of Extreme Emotion,…….. particularly one specific extreme emotion. or activity, rather. Prior to having this bracelet custom made, EVERY single time Epi had sex he’d shapeshift into his feral daemon form which isn’t necessarily that bad if you are into fucking daemons (and everyone is!) except daemon Epi IS prone to spontaneous mauling so it’s not even a cosmetic thing it’s just a safety thing. 🔍 – truth be told, shuichi likes when you dress him up!

🔍 – he doesn't have much variety in his own wardrobe, usually just sweaters and business casual wear, so when you put him in nicer clothes it makes him feel special.

🔍 – he'd get a bit flustered at first, especially if you give him a choice of what to wear, but seeing you smile is more than worth getting over his nervousness.

shuichi glanced between the two options carefully. he never really understood why you kept asking him, he knew you liked to give him a choice but it always ended up with him asking you, "which one do you think would look better on me?". both outfits he'd liked, but he knew you were more inclined to make an educated choice. something about one of the garments matching his hair, or bringing out his eyes.

you hummed in thought at the question, turning the fronts of the outfits toward yourself to get a good look at them. "i like the skirt, blue is a pretty color for you. makes your eyes pop." you told him honestly, pink blooming across his cheeks as he smiled shyly, "skirt it is, then."

🔍 – when you two match it makes him incredibly happy, even if he's not in a skirt or dress as well. one of his favorites is when you both have different outfits but in matching colors!

🔍 – it gives shuichi a big confidence boost to think that he looks so good with someone as stylish as you out in public. he usually only holds your hand or links your pinkies, but when you two are matching he'd be more than happy to be a bit more bold and keep an arm around your waist. maybe even kiss your cheek a few times, you never know, shuichi gets spontaneous when he gains confidence!

💡 – miu is definitely into dressing up with you!!! she's got incredible confidence in both her rockin' bod and yours, so she'd definitely hype up whatever choices you make!

💡 – miu's favorite dresses to wear are the ones with spaghetti straps that hug her tits and curves in all the right ways. she also really loves mid length skirts that flare out when she twirls. when you two match outfits, for the duality of it, miu likes to wear more revealing clothes while you wear longer stuff. or vice versa, as long as you both look and feel as great as you should!

💡 – miu definitely has a thing for adding her own accessories to outfits too! the gorgeous girl genius always finds a way to add thin metal trimmings to the end of your flowy garments, both to weigh them down and make them look nicer. she also adores seeing you add metal bangles and bracelets, her straps, or even her goggles to your outfits.

💡 – bonus points if you both match in pink, wearing pairs of her goggles. she'd definitely call everyone's attention to both of you to let everyone know how sexy you two look!

💡 – miu would make matching pins, bracelets, headbands, anklets, you name it! if you ask her to make something for an outfit she'd do it in a heartbeat, anything for her wonderful significant lover!

💡 – true to herself, one of her favorite things to do is tease you if you present her with anything short or tight that she didn't choose first. she'd mock you, call you a perv while asking if you're trying to get a view of her panties or expecting one of her tits to pop out.

💡 – all you have to do is tease her right back, ask her why she expects such dirty things from you if she wasn't imagining them first. miu will promptly dissolve into stutters and blushes before snatching the clothing from you and stomping away to change.

🎲 – … those are all lies, of course. truth is, kokichi's got little to no sense of style. he's the type to throw on whatever top is at the top of his drawer, grab the nearest pair of jeans and slip on whatever shoes he feels like for the day. he doesn't put that much thought into his everyday clothes, usually only going out of his way to look all spiffy if it's a special occasion.

🎲 – that doesn't mean he won't give his two cents for fashion advice though! kokichi does love when two can plan out and coordinate outfits with and for each other, it gives him prime opportunities to mess with you.

🎲 – it doesn't mean you don't mess with him back, of course. one time, kokichi suggested a mustard yellow shirt with a dark green skirt and blue jeans. with some obnoxious polka dot flip flops to top it all off. sure enough, you pulled all of those out and playfully pestered him to put it on until he finally caved and told you he was kidding.

🎲 – kokichi's favorite outfits are ones that are exactly the same. if he wears a purple dress, you have to wear one too. if he wears a tank top with an ankle length skirt, you have to wear the same. if you don't, he'll whine and cry his infamous crocodile tears until you say yes.

🎲 – once you start giving him some of your skirts and dresses to wear, kokichi will take it as an invitation to raid your closet whenever he feels like. you don't even have to suggest anything to him, he'll come walking out of your closet with your clothes and ask you which looks best on him.

🎲 – there was a time he tried to pull a prank on you by splattering a plain white dress with purple and black paint. kokichi will say he wasn't the slightest bit surprised that you asked him to do it to an identical dress, he obviously always had impeccable fashion taste and knew exactly what he was doing, but he'll get all flustered and giddy when you two go out in your matching paint splattered dresses.

my overall thoughts on this release!

to start with - I hate that they reused names. Most kids who are currently into ag probably know nothing about isabelle and nicki of the past, but it still comes off as lazy, honestly. yes, those are popular names for Jewish girls, but there are SO MANY OTHER popular names for Jewish girls. it’s just silly. nicki 1.0 was also a part of my childhood collection, and is very dear to me, so it also makes me personally annoyed that the twin I like the best would have the same name, if I were ever to decide I wanted her in my collection lmao

second, the timing. there was simply no good reason to release these girls SO soon after claudie and kavi. i understand that ag wanted to hop on the 90s nostalgia train, but waiting even two or three more months would have felt much less like they were stealing the spotlight from the dolls of color they recently released.

on that note, I’m of two minds about the route ag is currently traveling in regards to representation. looking at just the last few character releases (Corrine, claudie, kavi, now the twins), it makes sense for the company to choose to produce some white characters, as their main demographic is still white kids and their parents, no matter our opinion as adult collectors. On top of that, I personally really love adding more Jewish representation to the historical lineup, and I’m looking forward to seeing how that part of their lives is shown in their stories.

However (and it’s a big however), if we focus in on the historical lineup alone, it feels really bad to add more white characters. Many people have expressed the criticisms of this choice more eloquently than I, but despite the inclusion of more Jewish characters being unambiguously a good thing, there are other extremely glaring gaps that need to be filled as well. however, this is a bed that AG has built for themselves over many, MANY years, and I don’t personally think it’s fair to pin all the disappointment for that on the twins, especially when they add more Jewish rep to the line. You’re right to be disappointed in ag; I am too. But I find that I’m personally more disappointed with ags choices around other recent white historical dolls than these ones, if that makes sense. but this is a tricky subject with a lot of complicated emotions involved, and there’s not one simple correct way to feel about it!

I do find the twin thing a bit silly however; “oh you didn’t want us to add a white doll to the historical line right now? That’s fine, we’re adding two!”. it’s cute that they’re twins, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t feel that they’re different enough to justify two dolls? Idk, my thoughts on it are complicated and not fully formed but like. It feels silly, when choosing between two different historical dolls, to be basically picking whether you like sporty or preppy fashion more lol.

Also, ag tried the two dolls for one time period thing with Marie-grace and Cécile, girls who actually had some really interesting contrasts in their lives worth bringing up, and that didn’t even work out for ag, profits-wise. So idk how “we wear different clothing styles and sleep on opposite sides of the same bedroom” will be different/interesting enough to give ag the profits they want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Speaking of clothes, let’s get into the actual dolls, starting with the meet outfits/accessories. overall: I think they’re cute!

my only real nitpick with the outfits is that I’m not a fan of Isabel’s shoes. I actually think they’re really cute, but with the heels/platforms, they don’t seem right with this outfit. They make the whole outfit seem way more grown-up, which looks off to me. I think lower platforms would have kept the cute vibe but given her a less adult look, which would be a nice visual cue, as she seems to be taking a lot of her fashion cues from more adult/older teen fashion of the time, from what I can tell. As a result, she looks a little older than her age to me at first glance (more 15/16 than tween). idk if a kid in ‘99 would have worn shoes like that, as I was a toddler at the time, but I doubt it. In the early 2000s, where a lot of fashion trends still lingered, I don’t remember ever seeing another kid wear heels or platforms outside of dress-up. I could be wrong about the accuracy, but I still don’t personally like them in this context. however, that’s really just a personal taste thing. Isabel’s style isn’t to my taste in general, so it’s fine haha

I REALLY like nickis outfit, and I think the accessories add a LOT there. I love the layering - I did that a lot as a kid in the 2000s (that was certainly one of the trends that stuck around), and I love the necklaces. she also looks much cuter with the hat on in this pic than in the initial pics that released, and I think a ton of that has to do with how her hair is styled.

I think Nicki would have looked really wonderful with a meet hairstyle of braids. it would have gone with her active lifestyle and would have looked really cute with the blonde pieces free. she’s in braids on her book cover, and it’s adorable. She also has her hair braided in the product pics for her skateboarding outfit. With her hair styled instead of down she also looks way less like a full grown adult woman, which is a weird vibe she gives off to me in those initial pics.

like, those braids are so cute! I think braids were probably at one point a possibility for her meet style, but they were probably nixed due to the added cost of labor to do a hairstyle and the small pieces on the back of the wig for the part(though that is entirely speculation).

I don’t have nearly as many thoughts on Isabel’s hair. it’s cute, if basic. it makes sense for her character (from what we know so far), and it makes sense for the time (though if it was real hair, it would probably have a lot more layers, but that’s hard to make look right at doll scale).

overall, I think they’re nice dolls, with unfortunate timing. they both have some details that aren’t my favorite, but overall they’re cute. however, the promo pics that got leaked (and are currently the product photos for the dolls without accessories), are honestly terrible and manage to make both twins look their worst. unfortunately, i think AG is really struggling to make promo photos of dolls with the new eyelashes look right, even when the dolls look fine in person. I’ll make a separate post for the collection, since this is already so long!

Bells Hells Self Ship: Chetney Edition

Alright I said I was going to do ship ramblings, and now it is time for cr3 stuff with my lovely insert, Bunny Autumnrose. I want to do one with every member that I ship her with romantically, because or else it will be too long!! This one is going to be specifically with her and the ridiculous ass old gnome who somehow wrestled his way in her heart lmao

♡♡ There won't be a lot of plot spoilers, however there might be a few things mildly mentioned that could be possible spoilers. I would be careful if you'd like to avoid them for the campaign!! Also a bit of a warning for spicy mentions throughout. Bunny uses they/she pronouns. ♡♡

Other Ships -> Fearne, Launda, Dorian, Imogen, Bertrand

Though I haven't completely decided when Bunny makes her first appearance, I know it's rather early on. And when Chet first meets her it's like fucking love at first sight for him. He is immediately fucking swooning over the "big bunny lady" and follows her around like a goddamn lost puppy. This only gets worse throughout the time that they spend together.

Bunny is very oblivious to most advances thrown her way, and this one is no different. Even when he is being very blatant, she doesn't even notice the way he is constantly fucking drooling. She will eventually get the hint bc of multiple comments tossed her way, but it will take a bit for her to catch up.

Chet definitely finds her oblivious nature cute, playing around with it to his favor sometimes. There's multiple interactions where he is flirting with her harder and harder, and it's only when she catches on that she has little quips in response. All of which make it seem that she finds it flattering, but isn't planning to reciprocate.

There were a few times when the group was first discovering his wolf side that Bunny was a bit flustered, though she would never admit it out loud this early. She would make a few comments to anyone nearby, and it would be no secret that she saw some kind of appeal with his werewolf form.

There's a constant banter between the two of them that she is unavailable, even though she is gaining relationships with the rest of the group left and right. He is insanely determined, even though she is shutting him down a bit more insistently. Which is hilarious considering her relationship with Fearne (that started VERY early on).

They grow a bit of a friendship through the course of time together, and even though she still shuts him down, she openly admits that he makes her laugh. Multiple times she is sweet to him, though she quickly regrets it after the comments and flirting that it's followed up with.

She suggests that he should make her something when prompted (however I'm still deciding what that is), along with the rest of the group. However, Chet ends up gifting her an additional item that he made for her himself. A beautiful jewelry box for all of her trinkets, hair accessories, and other things she wears constantly. Adding little details from all their conversations that she would like, especially the addition of her favorite flowers.

This moment is one of the first that they share an actual intimate moment, and it's followed by the cutest little interaction with them. Him winking at her to not tell anyone, or they'll think that he's playing favorites. Her giggling. Like COME ON YOU TWO--

Things begin to heat up between them during the party split, and it starts to become a bit more physical between them. Bunny hadn't expected things to take such a sharp turn, however it never did quite stop after that. She came to enjoy their newfound change, though his cockiness left her feeling conflicted. In many ways that she wouldn't like to admit as well.

Whenever she started catching feelings, it became quite obvious to mainly Dawn (@self-shipping-angel's insert) and a few others over time, however Bunny herself was oblivious to her own. In fact, she had to be told to pay attention a few times, before she fully understood just how fucked she had become when it came to the old gnome.

She was able to hide it pretty well, until she couldn't and one by one everyone started to catch on that things were different with her especially. Even with small little teasing quips from Chet, nobody believed it until Bunny was getting nervous and acting different overall around him.

A series of events, mainly spearheaded by Ashton and Imogen looking to cause a stir, would prompt the truth to come out. A spiral into Chet deciding to make this big grand gesture that went way out of hand and ended up leaving Bunny more embarrassed than fucking wooed. Thus resulting in a story that the group will never let either live it down.

The group as a whole would push her into confessing sooner than she had wanted to, if not just for the sanity of everyone involved. Her nervousness would be rather cute and working a bit in her favor, having no problems getting him alone on a walk to have this rather private conversation. Though some would follow to eavesdrop because they're nosy fucks lmao

Bunny admits to having some feelings that she's still figuring out that are most definitely more than she expected. She also might confess to finding the effort he put in to being romantic with her rather sweet, though it was a tiny bit over the top. Not that he isn't going to do it again... and again...

The night ended with them having another rather cutely intimate moment, with him gifting her a flower that she wears in her hair from then on, ultimately changing their relationship by a small bit. Until Bunny is ready for something else, which only further time together will tell~
