Who Let Him Out Of Minas Tirith Dressed Like This.
(I understand range of motion for an actor but there were better ways to do this from a character standpoint as well)

This is probably a ‘you had to be there’ sort of thing, but i FREQUENTLY think about this one cultural trainwreck moment that happened at the show NJPW did at Hammerstein Ballroom a few years ago.
The show started over two hours late. From where I was, it seemed like most of the crowd didn’t even notice until the first hour had elapsed, because it’s fuckin’ New York City, where tbh your show is kind of a dork if it starts on time. To my memory, the crowd was pretty chill—the delay was clearly out of New Japan’s hands and they were doing everything they could to fix it, and in the meantime it seemed like most people were chatting about wrestling while getting plastered off $18 beer in plastic cups.
However, as you may imagine, the long delay made the Japanese execs running the show extremely anxious and deeply embarrassed (and perhaps a little worried for their safety, given the history of wrestling crowds at Hammerstein). When they finally announced the show would for real this time start in 15 minutes, they sent out an executive of some variety to apologize. He got into the ring, announced the apology, and then did that all the way down face-to-the-ground bow of deep sincere apology. A full one takes like 10 seconds, and he then proceeded to do it three more times, facing the other 3 sides of the ring.
The crowd reaction was VISCERAL. Time began moving in slow motion as Japanese religious reverence for corporate reputation crashed violently against deeply-ingrained American sensibilities about public shame and being made to take the fall for one’s employer. The audience tried briefly to clap politely through our discomfort, as we figured was likely proper, but after the second bow began, the crowd fell into chaos—no one wanted to boo, but seemingly everyone wanted to convey OH MY GOD STOPPP PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS. People were shouting ‘no! no!’, drunk dudes in the front row were wildly waving their arms for him to get up, and lots of people were instinctively looking away to avoid being forced to witness public debasement.
The thing that is so inexplicably funny to me is the juxtaposition of a Japanese corporate scapegoat performing a gesture of most profound and humble apology with a few thousand horrified drunk American pro wrestling fans desperately chanting “IT’S OKAY! IT’S OKAY!” at him.

Forget being guilty about Alfira, I accidentially failed to save tieflings and that one dwarf in Moonrise Towers bc I thought you do it at the same time as you go dealing with Ketheric. And I failed it after I self-assuredly promised those two tieflings (girl whose loved one was kidnapped and the cranky wizard guy whose siblings were taken) I'll save their loved ones.
And I deleted saves prior that before I realized my mistake. Whoops.

i sincerely hope this gets posted, this is not flame but real concern for some people here. but if anyone is having actual crisis or is getting genuinely upset because a chat got ghosted, this is potentially a hobby you should shelve until you are prepared for that kind of thing?
for reference, i have been rping since i was 8 years old, i am nearly 30. in all of those years, i've kept maybe 4-5 rp partners around as friends, and the vast swathes of the others are just gone. we didn't write well together, we didn't have the same ideas for progression, maybe we just lost interest in what brought us together in the first place - and yeah, sometimes it was something *i* was invested in as well, and it hurts.
but at the end of the day, it's a hobby. for you, for the person you're rping with, and for most potential partners as well. you owe a stranger on cherp the same amount as you owe a stranger in real life - just because they jumped in and joined your street performance for a moment doesn't mean they're your creative counterpart. you don't even know them. learning to be OK with temporary might just be incredibly healing for you.
I read this ask a few times since we got it and I really thought about it and you’re right. You’re absolutely right. Please have a wonderful new year.
P.s. WHAT WERE YOU ROLEPLAYING AT 8?????

just got back from the airport.... poor fuckers' flight got delayed eight hours past their original arrival time. so i guess at least redoing the report kept me awake long enough to go get them (it is in fact finished and submitted. 3,700 words, i've written around 8,000 today. which is more than i am used to for my programming degree)
it is 4:30 am and i have the last final exam of my academic career at noon tomorrow OTL

Mattia also might share what he takes (affectionate).
But I'm on the 5th stage of grief and not going to have any hopes anymore, so I truly love this "we have nothing to lose" badass energy with a bittersweet taste. Maybe it's too late. Maybe it won't be enough (99,9%) at the end of the season, but THIS is what I'd wanted from them since the first race. Just give it all. Just try. And maybe it will pay off (it definitelly will pay off as a preparation to next season).

i- there is so many things wrong with this
(for context the original comment was saying that evan hansen is an example of a protagonist that’s a bad person, someone else replied saying that they didn’t like DEH as opposed to hamilton and six because evan was a bad person, this person then commented this)
1. hamilton is not a character experiencing a redemption arc, he was a REAL PERSON. hamilton is an incredible musical and is a genuine piece of contemporary art, but treating the people the show is about as though they are original characters following a storyline created by LMM is nearsighted and ignorant. these were real people who made real decisions with very real consequences.
2. have,, have you listened to dear evan hansen?? or read the book?? the whole point of DEH is that good and bad are not objective boxes, that it’s not black and white. evan hansen is not a bad person- he is a teenage boy struggling with mental illness who made an exceptionally bad decision that quickly spiraled into something out of his control.
DEH is about growth, mental illness, grief, and the absence of objectivity in real life.
there is no such thing as a good person or a bad person, there are simply people who make different choices- and the outcome of those choices is entirely subjective.
for the record, im NOT saying that what evan did was right or excusable- but to say that he’s a bad person for what he did is completely ignoring the plot of the musical and the character development we witness on stage.
