okay so i was talking to @bisexualkirk and had a realization

empathy links (from percy jackson, as seen w percy and grover) and vulcan bonds (star trek) are really similar??

my logic:

emotional transfer

can read/perceive each other's thoughts (to an extent)

severing/suppressing one is very difficult and can even bring physical pain onto both parties

can really only be effectively formed if there's a strong relationship between both parties

there's probably more there and this may not be completely accurate so please feel free to add on and give your thoughts!! as a percy jackson fan/trekkie this parallel just made me very happy :)
