it’s so fucking funny to think that there are catholics on this literal hellsite. like do you think your bible verses have any effect here? tumblr is its own circle of hell, one beyond anything dante could’ve conceived. also, a lot of us want to fuck the devil. or one of his demons. or more than one of his demons. there’s no going back from that

does jesus christ mean anything to you/in your worldview/cosmology? curious since, you talk a lot lately about going to church, and draw on the bible ofc, but never mentioned christ in particular, that ive seen.
your work has meant a lot to me btw, thank you. wishing you well.
hi anonymous; i:ve mentioned christ plenty -- in my church notes, in my religious writing, in these asks;
Tumblr media
sometimes more subtly than others, because part of christian ideal is son=father=ghost, and it:s hard to reference one of those parts without also needing an unsaid inclusion of the other two; sometimes more overtly: i do not consider myself a christian because i do not believe christ offers salvation for left-handed persons, or that any biblical reference to christ and salvation offered to those righteous at That hand of Lord God has any-thing to do with the left-handed; that when-ever mention in bible covers those heavenly peoples it is explicitly referencing those peoples who are "the word made flesh," mixed here in earthy mistakes--these are the righteous that are saved, and in the shadow of this mentioned group, are those of the earthy origin made spirited by a mistaken spirit: these of the unmentioned hand; secrets of buried earth; the kingdoms of earth; the children of herod; the shadows crept up in the great manse of herod and those who choked in baptism Gerasene at a minor second deluge offered by Christ to that flock of pigs;
these earthy things will be baptised in truth by fire in second death and their customs and mysteries are bespoke to them by earth, and spoken-to by earthy thing Underground: the left-over of hot kiln leaving bone-dry and clean ash to be used as baptism for these people, dry in solemn acknowledgment of the waters of Gerasene that Christ offers these children; solemn acknowledgment of the kiln of earth from which they were cast and the fires outside that will smoke their spirits in second, final, death: Annihilation;
christ as figure, to communication, is variable here in name and inclusion; for greater explanation: christ is a created context by the abstract intelligences; true as any, and illusory as any, but the creating pattern through which christ were Exist are exact what Christ is; a promise of subsumation for the hand righteous and how-ever many splinters fell from that hand; and in the shadow of that Christly pattern: a promise of annihilation for the hand invisible and how-ever many fewer splinters fell from that hand; the lord body god from which both hands connect loves these equal as the body shan't hate its parts, but the pattern and abstraction is biased in its creation of Context and the Word, the Bible, are all of the context bias; take care.

tell me about the catholic saints and flower language you're obsessed with
!!!!! i'm so glad you asked !!!!
okay so my absolute all-time favorite saint is saint dymphna of ireland. she's the patron saint of the mentally ill, survivors of incest, and also (sometimes) survivors of both sexual and domestic abuse. when she was fourteen, her mother died and her father, "in his grief" (not an excuse -_-) decided that he wanted to marry her instead. dymphna fled to modern-day belgium to the town of geel and ended up founding one of the first mental hospitals. her father tracked her down only a year later and killed her. she was canonized only a few years after her death, and people call her "the lily of eire". she was literally younger than I am, but shes credited with helping hundreds of thousands of people. people came from all over Belgium to visit her hospital. it's insane.
saint olga of kiev is another really fascinating one. so before she did any of what got her canonized (trying to spread christianity to kievan rus in modern day russia) she was this super badass vengeful icon. when her husband igor was murdered by drevlians, she hunted down and killed all of those involved (like the queen she is). she was also a big fan of arson. like, a huge fan. me too, girl. when she was baptised, she took on the anglican name helena (or elena, we're unsure). she's the patron saint of widows and converts, but many have also dubbed her "patron saint of vengeance" which is just so badass.
also there's like ten different patron saints of rats which is just.... so wild.
fun facts, there's a catholic chapel just off of broadway, st. malachy's, that's known as the actors chapel. they offer a saturday mass in between the afternoon and matinee performances along with sunday services, so lots of religious actors end up there. they have a shrine to some of the saints related to the performing arts at the back of the chapel. i was in NYC this spring, and i was lucky enough to be able to sit through a saturday mass there before I went to see some like it hot (if you haven't seen it, you should. SO. GOOD). the chapel is absolutely stunning. i also got to go to (and sing in!!!) st. john the divine's cathedral (the largest cathedral in the US, it was INSANE) and st. patricks cathedral. cathedrals are so stunning, the architecture is absolutely insane and i go feral just thinking about it. every day i long to go back, it was that gorgeous (I'm not even religious, but religious architecture just DESTROYS me. huge fan). but i digress.
some pictures of st. john's tho!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
sorry if they're a little blurry, i was too excited to hold still.
okay but flowers!!! i love flower language, i think it's so fascinating. i actually got into because of this book I read, the grace year by kim liggit (must-read btw, so beautiful)
okay but anyway, my absolute favorite flower is the aster, specifically blue china asters (I liked them so much I named myself after them) they look like this:
Tumblr media
they're gorgeous. anyways
so blue asters are a symbol of trustworthiness and wisdom, and china asters symbolize love and faith. asters are a breed of daisies, which symbolize innocence, new beginnings, and joy. daisies are also commonly used in herbal medicine, specifically medicine related to mental wellness. there's layers to the meaning, which is one of the things i love so much about it
i just !!! love things !!!! and nobody irl wants to listen to me rant about this shit !!!! bless you remi !!!

thanks for sharing!
honestly this is so relatable. so for me growing up i was always taught (not explicitly but it was just the general vibe) that religious people are weird and stupid. like no one would ever openly say that, but it was often implied through jokes or like when someone would say that they were religious my family would give the side eye lol. and plus, yeah, its a government backed institution yikes.
and yet! i was baptised, we'd bake cakes for easter, when people would ask me what my religion was growing up id say orthodox, etc. like there was always this weird contradiction.
what you said about after school activities i also have a funny little story to share. so when i was 6-7 yrs old my parents signed me up for this like art club after school. and once this old lady showed up and started an embroidery club in the same classroom. and so when i got bored of drawing, i decided to go over to her and do embroidery. and i really liked it, so instead of sitting with the art club, id go to the emroidery lady.
and she was super religious and would always tell us stories about god. and i found it super annoying and in my head i was like "oof granny is loosing her mind". i specifically remember her telling us about the tower of babel and i sat there like "damn, she is so delusional". but i liked embroidery, so i stayed and didn't say anything.
and turned out, she was there illegally! she was this like orthodox missionary who snuck onto school properties to convert the kids. it was a huge scandal. so yeah, that incident made me even more prejudiced towards religious people. that and also the fact that my favourite book growing up was дорога уходит в даль, which is basically communist propaganda lol.
so yeah, it's strange. because whenever id go inside an orthodox church everything would feel so familiar and yet so foreign. i never felt like i belonged there and plus, as you said, no one ever explains to you like what to do or welcomes you in any way. like i don't want to sound entitled and im not saying that im owed anything, and maybe, hey, it's my own prejudice. but the only thing people tell you there is "we won't let you in dressed like that". and growing up it made me even more hostile. like i remember we went to visit a monastry in montenegro once and it was like 35 degrees outside and i was 12 and i was wearing shorts obviously. and like 3 people came up to me to tell me that im not allowed in. and i never got an explanation as to why. i mean yeah, modesty, whatever. but instead of being so judgemental towards a child, an explanation would be nice..? idk, that really put me off religion.
but then, here's the thing. when i was 14 i was being neurodivergent as usual and i got hyperfixated on religion. idk where that came from. but i told myself that i would research a new religion every week. so id borrow a bunch of books at the library evry week and i kept a journal detailing all my findings. i went to the lutheran church, i even found a hindu centre here and scheduled an appointment and borrowed one of their scriptures. like idk what was going on in my 14 year old brain but i was fearless and i would like show up to all these religious centres with my little notebook. and id even interview people... likeee.
anyway, one week i was researching orthodoxy. so again, i showed up to the orthodox church here, absolutely fearless, no headscarf, wearing my desigual jeans. and i went straight to the choir and asked if i could sing with them. i have no classical training in music btw, i know how to sing but like as a hobby, i know little to no theory. and, again, i don't know where this audacity came from, but i went straight up to the choir director and was like "im singing with y'all bitches". so i started going every sunday to sing, but id never stay until the end bc id get bored. and then i stopped all together after like maybe a year.
and again, i have no logical explanation as to why. i was just hyperfixated and decided that the church choir was my new thing. and i didn't make any friends there bc i was still prejudiced against religious people. i wouldn't pray, i didn't respect the dresscode. id just show up, not say hello to anyone, sing for like 30 minutes and leave. 💀💀 at that age i constantly felt like i was in some sort of bubble, like id always be half dissociating, id do things not understanding how or why, things would just happen, it was weird.
fast forward to this year, i went to church for easter with one of my friends just like to hang out. and i heard the choir for the first time in almost 10 years and fell in love again. i couldn't remember any of the hymns (probably because when i was 14 i was just so dissociated). but i was like i have to join again!
except now im more aware of my own surroundings and im more normal. so i didn't really know how to approach things. but i was like you know what, if 14 year old me could just show up and not explain anything to anyone, so can 24 year old me.
so the week after easter i came up to the choir director and asked if i could sing and she asked me if i was classically trained and i was like "oops no, but i sang with you guys 10 years ago". and then she asked me why i had stopped and i was a bit at a loss for words bc like idk why i stopped. and then i asked her what brought her here and she gestured at the ceiling. and that was our conversation.
and the thing is, now that im more aware and awake, singing there is even more fun. because i haven't read sheet music in 10 years. i didn't know i was capable of reading music. but i am! and it's this weird almost like spiritual feeling. because i look at the notes and even if ive never seen that particular hymn before, i know exactly what to sing. and my hand moves up and down and i nod to the rhythm. i don't know how, i don't know why i know all of these things, but i do. and it amazes me every time. like i look at something ive never seen before, but i can read it. idk how to explain this feeling. like imagine all of a sudden being able to read a foreign alphabet and you don't even know how you read it, you just do. it feels magical.
but yeah, i totally get what you say about churchgoers being mean. i always feel like an outsider or imposter in literally any social setting, so feeling like an alien at church isn't something that scares me. and i haven't talked to anyone there or made any friends. but just from the looks of it and the way people push and shove each other there like i can tell that i probably won't get along with any of them unfortunately. and there's always people shoving when queuing up for eucharist and there's always passive aggressiveness and everyone is always on edge. even in the choir like i rarely get the music sheets handed to me for some reason. like when they're distributed they often skip me and i don't understand why. it makes me feel like more of an impostor but tbh nowadays im so chill when it comes to self esteem i literally do not care. it's just annoying bc unless i literally grab the sheet out of the person's hand, i always have to look at someone else's. but yeah, little things like that give me the impression that the majority of people who go there are kind of mean.
and what you said about people all knowing each other is very true too. because literally everyone is always in their little groups. and if you're not childhood friends with someone, you can't make friends. again im neurodivergent so i just like struggle with making friends in general. but making friends at our church seems impossible. people are always huddling together and whispering and i just know i won't fit in. because at some point in their little conversations they always point at the ceiling and i just don't know enough about god or the church to be able to fit in with these sort of conversations, you know?
but anyway, as i said, i love going to church nevertheless. singing there makes me euphoric. i love the aesthetics, i love the drama. i love the over-the-top-ness of like people falling to their knees and crying and the priest talking about the devil. it's so cinematic, im obsessed. and if i don't "belong" there or if i don't have the right relationship with the church, so be it. i think it's better to look forward to church every week and to truly enjoy it, than to be mean and go there to ask for forgiveness 👀

It’s me, hi.
It’s 3am, and I can’t stop thinking about this big fine fella who single-handedly made me forget about escaping from Sheffield.
Tumblr media
This man’s name is Henry Tingle Wilde—let’s just call him Harry because that’s how he’s known to his family and friends. His parents, descended from local gentry in Sheffield, relocated to Walton, Liverpool from Loxley, Sheffield and tiny Harry was brought back to Sheffield to get baptised in Loxley Congregational Church (aka. Loxley United Reformed Church), though he’s raised in Liverpool where he was born and raised; somehow, throughout his life, he would spend a good amount of time in Sheffield as the church was very important to him and his family according to an article written by Sheffield Libraries (and btw his parents are buried at the churchyard there).
And holy facking hecc I was just reading random stuff on the internet again and this guy just fascinates me so much like-
How come he be so cute and no one noticed him😭😭😭😭 (basically, for a long time people just thought he wasn’t inactive during the sinking of the Titanic but no, he is just as active as other officers except Pitman who was facking stuck on lifeboat no.5 for most of the night)
Tumblr media
Okay, I might be doing some posts on tumblr about him instead of torturing myself with Murdoch fanfic but first, I need to have a walk to Loxley because my mental health has been sucked.

Mandalorian season 3 episode 2 spoilers ahead
THE SYMBOLISM OF THE MYTHOSAUR SCENE OMG
Our gorgeous, pathetic, unwilling baby (Din, not Grogu) slips and falls all the way down the deep end (like he did into becoming the Mand'alor, he took a few steps in and then got completely sucked into it, omg) and falls unconscious (cause you can't let him know he's the chosen one, he'll completely freak out and run away), the poor dear.
The unconscious part is also potentially symbolic of him not knowing what he's doing, not knowing how much of a Mand'alor he is being, and plainly just not knowing what he's doing, btw.
Anyway, Bo-Katan (who is not unconscious and also actually knows what she's doing and how to lead as a Mand'alor and that Din is super the chosen one) comes down to get him and carry him up to the surface (cause gosh is he going to need help, and she's the most uniquely qualified for the job) ...
And they (Bo-Katan) see a mythosaur.
THEY SEE A FUCKING MYTHOSAUR.
AND YOU KNOW WHAT??!!
The mythosaur cracks open it's eye to look at them.
LIKE IT'S WORRIED ABOUT THEM (din), LIKE IT'S GIVING THEM (din) IT'S BLESSING, LIKE THEY (din) ARE NOT SOMETHING BENEATH IT, LIKE THEY (din) ARE WORTH IT'S ATTENTION
IT'S FUCKING AMAZING
(btw, it's also saying "yes I'm real Bo-Katan, so please help the pathetic mess that is our Mand'alor out, cause yes, he does actually deserve the title, and is in fact the actual chosen one, come to bring a new age your people, cause I do actually exist and approve of the idiot, thank you very much")
So yeah.
Also the fact that Din's super strict Creed is actually called the Way of the Mand'alor??? And he actually follows it super strictly, like without it he's nothing??? And only breaks it for the benefit of Children, which in Mandalorians Creed "are the Future"?????
LIKE HOW MUCH MORE FORESHADOWING DO YOU WANT TO PUT INTO THIS DUDE (it's like wolf wolf, son of wolf, if you know what I'm talking about)
More importantly, HOW MUCH MORE INFORMATION DOES HE NEED BEFORE HE REALISES HOW MUCH OF A NIGH PERFECT MANDALORIAN HE IS????
Like.
1) Way of the Mand'alor
2) Children are important above all else
3) full beskar armor (which is, btw unpainted, a blank slate, a new age, it's perfect!) (1st tenant of Creed)
4) incredibly skilled as a warrior/hunter/provider, is an actual beroya, for his tribe and people, even those who are practically strangers to him (Bo-Katan, Boba) (5th tenant)
5) respected by the head clans of the 3 factions (they would come if he called them, and since he's the Mand'alor, that's the 6th tenant for them)
6) willing to listen, respect, and learn about the creed and history of those who follow different ways (very good, since Mandalorian society previously collapsed partially because they were arguing over whose creed was the best)
7) Would fight, kill, go out of his comfort zone, and even violate his creed for his family (Grogu) (3rd tenant)
8) Can speak not just Mandalorian, but also a variety of other languages, including at least one form of sign (very useful for communicating with his scattered people (2nd tenant)
9) literally teaching Grogu about mandalorian culture now that he knows he accepts him as family in return (4th tenant)
10) follows the resol'nare (the 6 tenants) in his every action, seemingly without having to think about it
11) being re-baptised in the living waters (like Jesus) (btw the symbolism of being reborn again as he is being denoted as the person who will bring a new age)
12) the Fucking Mythosaur
Like Din? Get some self-esteem. And self-care while you're at it.
Anyway I can't wait till Saturday (today's a Thursday for future readers and those across the world) when I can continue watching Din stumble (or fall) deep deep deep into Mand'alor-hood unwillingly and unknowingly

The Giant Tarot Masterpost
I was originally going to post this in several different posts but I'm lazy so...
(btw there's videos where I learned all this, I recommend the videos more than this post)
MADAME MACABRE'S TAROT TUTORIAL SERIES
WARNING: Long post ahead. Feel free to look at this in chunks lol
What is Tarot?
The Tarot is a symbolic map of consciousness that encompasses our journey through life, both spiritually and practically.
Tarot reading is the practice of divining wisdom and guidance through a specific spread (or layout) of Tarot cards. However, contrary to popular belief, the cards do not simply tell your fortune, and one does not have to be a psychic to give Tarot readings. The cards are meant to provide insight into the innermost truths of your higher self. In other words, the cards provide an evolved awareness of what you already know deep within. The origin of the Tarot is unknown, but we do have documented references of Tarot card use back to fourteenth-century Europe. The Tarot has been used as an oracle, in the basic form we know today, since the beginning of the seventeenth century.
A Brief History of Tarot
Though today we associate tarot with the occult, tarot cards were originally just another card game–one similar to modern-day bridge. Like other decks, the first recorded tarot cards showed up in Europe in the 15th century, with the most popular sets selling in Italy to wealthy families. The printing press had yet to arrive, and since hand-painted cards were all that existed, it cost a considerable amount of cash to commission what were essentially dozens of teeny paintings.
Like any deck, these early tarot cards—tarocchi cards, in Italian—had suits, trump cards, and even pips.
While some people dabbled, the widespread use of tarot cards for divination only took off in the late 1700s, when Frenchman Jean-Baptise Alliette published the first definitive guide to tarot card reading. Pseudonymized Etteilla, he wrote a guide to using the cards and released his own deck alongside it. He gave meaning to each card, incorporating beliefs about astronomy and the four elements. He claimed to have borrowed heavily from the Book of Thoth, an Egyptian text supposedly written by Thoth, the Egyptian god of wisdom.
Etteilla was also the first to assign a specific order and spread to the cards, both frontwards and backward—a system still used today. His works took off and he published a revised edition of his guide in 1791, becoming the first person to be a professional tarot reader.

i was thinking if this is how y'all picture my part of scheweden, everything green except für das crome graff - and the blue river to the left? [btw: the water that runs in my river comes from a big snowy mountain in norwegian and it is so bloody clean that my forefathers baptised the river to the 'clear river'] when i took this picture a couple of weeks back i dicided that i would post it on june 6 a.k.a the birthday of schweden! the road y'all see in the picture takes a right turn after ca 100 meters and then we are on a nasty grey dirty industrial area with abandoned cars without wheels in the streets.
everything is not what it seems to be around the bend :)

yeah, if i’m racist then non-arab muslims must be racist, too. also i like how your followers decided that i must be a christian dying to defend the christian faith. i’ve never been baptised and i have visited a church at most like 10 times but sure i’m dying to pop out some christian babies 😒why is the quarn on par with the bible regarding to barbarism when your religon was invented 6 centuries after the christian
follow pure christianity where in the 600s they couldn't even get divorced, still had pedophilia, racism, misogyny, slavery, etc and then compare it to pure islam that basically was a little more lenient in some areas and then youll understand how come islam came after. the difference is muslims still follow islam very precisely whereas most christians have created diff sects and invented divorce 1000 years after christianity came to exist. "waa i dont love christianity btw im just hellbent on denying that theyre two sides of the same coin just because!" okay
also ur comment about "non-arab muslims must be racist too" makes no sense lol ........what exactly does that have to do with u making comments about me being a barbarian based on my race or w/e? lay off the crack sis. maybe those 10 times at the church u drank too much of jesus' blood or w/e tf and its impacted u somehow cause this isn't normal!

Btw, the cross at the grave means charlie was a Christian? I wonder if it was tony who baptised him and if it means that his other 'children' are christians as well or if he somehow came to it by himself (by 20??)?

How Walker thinks that people should protect Black lives:
Tumblr media
Studies show that women in Georgia are twice as likely to die due to lacking care during or after pregnancy. And, to make it even worse, black women in Georgia are three times more likely than the average white woman in the US!
Warnock supports the pro-choice movement and is developing a bill to address maternal mortality in Georgia to tackle the increase death rates.
And what is Walker’s reaction to that: “Mr. Senator, Georgia has more Black babies aborted than anything. So, if Black lives matter, why are you not protecting those babies? And instead of aborting those black babies why are you not baptising them.”
Excuse me, but what the fu*k? What about the black women who are dying because of complicated pregnancies and lack of medical care? An issue he did not address during this debate, btw.
Geez, I would like to see the reactions of those black, female babies who got ‘saved’ by Walker when they find out that their Senator protected them more when they were a lump of cells, than when they are grown-up women. But hey, at least they got baptised!
Nah, I’d much rather take Warnock’s stand: Stop crowing the OB-GYN’s patient room with (almost exclusively male!) politicians! It is not their life. And it is not their choice to make, either!
