I took pictures on our walk tonight. 🥰 Spring has come so far in his confidence and comfort level with walks! It took months of work and reassurance and treats. We had to encourage him and reinforce that it was totally okay for him to go sniff things, or to move from our side. He got scared from anything happening around us & wouldn't come back from it, so would just get more overwhelmed and nervous the more that happened as the walk went on.

He's finally gotten to the point where we rarely have to remind him that he's allowed to sniff - he darts from smell to smell, stops to mark, and trots along with his tail held high. He knows he's allowed to make us wait a moment for him to sniff.

When we pass something that makes him uncertain, he might hesitate to inspect it, then checks in with us and goes back to walking - sometimes immediate rebound to happy, sometimes it takes a short distance or a treat or two. But he actually can recover now instead of getting more and more worried! He even barely blinked at a few bikes passing us on the sidewalk tonight. It's been really rewarding watching his confidence increase! 💙
