What do you think gay men are attracted to in men that they can’t be attracted to in women?

It can’t be anything about femininity or masculinity obviously. That’s both sexist, and cultural so can’t be what drives men-only attraction.

It can’t be anything about stated identity because someone could lie just as easily as they could tell the truth in such a statement, and it makes no sense because homosexuality and heterosexuality exists in other species with no stated identities. It’s not like other animals without gender are all pan.

Saying idk it’s the vibes or some indescribable trait men have that women can’t but “I can’t explain” is a nonanswer.

first off i hate this ask and i think youre a freak. in any other world i wouldve blocked you for this but unfortunately for both of us i actually like this type of philosophy. dont send this shit to anyone else though

i dont think its right to compare human sexuality to the same thing in animals, to get that out of the way. im sure until a certain point it comes from the same biological impulses, but human beings have way more complicated social structures and reasons for coupling that just do not exist in other animals. our social behaviours are what make us unique in the animal kingdom and that definitely extends to gender and sexuality. so theres that

people love to tout 'gender is a social construct' around like its a criticism in and of itself, which i think betrays a misunderstanding about social constructs in general. theyre the foundations we build language on to better understand each other, and affected by a whole host of cultural and historical factors. just because theyre subjective and complicated doesnt mean they arent real. in terms of the effect they have on peoples lives they may be the most real thing that exists

for example, 'kindness' is a social construct. the definition and ways it is enacted differ greatly across personal and cultural lines. but no one would ever suggest a world where kindness doesnt exist or loses meaning, because its an essential part of the way we interact with each other (in the same way i dont really see a world where gender entirely ceases to exist, mainly just one where people have more fun with it. im not a psychic though so who knows)

similarly, sexuality in humans is another social construct. i think the driving biological forces behind it are very real, but the labels people attach to those impulses are subjective attempts to express their inner world to the people around them if that makes sense. and those same biological impulses are ALSO subject to social ideas of gender, because those ideas are established at birth and reinforced over a persons entire lifetime

to use myself as an example, im a gay trans man. ive identified as other things in the past, because i was trying to pick apart feelings i had and express them to others in an attempt to find community. my identity might change as i get older and experience new things, or it might not. i identify as gay because im not attracted to the social concept of women, and someone i would otherwise be attracted to might lose all appeal after i find out they fall under that concept (this has happened before w transfems pre and post coming out lol)

of course, the real REAL answer to this is that trying to give queer identities rigid and objective definitions is a fools errand, and also lame as fuck. someone might identify as gay and be more attracted to general masculinity than men as a social category, maybe they fool around with a couple of butch women without considering themself any less gay. two otherwise identical people might be a butch lesbian and a gay trans man without either of those identities coming into conflict. they might even be the same person at different times of the week

the labels people choose to use are communication tools, not objective signifiers. if you dont understand them, they probably arent talking to you

social constructs are everything. we as humans have the unique ability to interpret our own messy desires and impulses into words that other people can use to form an idea of someone else in their mind. its how we build connections, and of course it isnt perfect because trying to squeeze someones entire personal history and the centuries of context that defined it into a handful of syllables is going to leave some room for error. but its all we have, yknow? so we keep trying. and i think thats much more human than any imposed objective 'truth' could ever be

Synastry/Composite Observations 🌠

(These are just some of my experiences and I really just wanna share what I learned with yall)💕

Synastry-

💙✨ Saturn square Venus can really just throw off the timing of a relationship. Well its less the timing and more of the fact of that the two people cant ever make their minds up and mature up for one another. And there are for sure alot of barriers that come withing this aspect one of them being that other people can set these two apart. In the couple that i saw this in the guy was Saturn and the woman was Venus. Venus was led on for almost 2 years while Saturn chased a different woman in that time. Until in may 2023 they started talking but their communication was off so Saturn broke it off. Now in december everyone finds out Saturn wants her back but Venus has moved on. So in their case it was a lack of maturity and indecisiveness.

💙✨ Venus conjunct Pluto makes the Venus person SO obsessive ESP if the Venus person has scorpio in their natal chart. Remember the Saturn guy from the first bullet point? He was the guy ive had a crush on for the past 3 years and in my scenario with him, hes the pluto in this case. Sadly it was unrequited but man this guy had me in a chokehold which was weird because I never wouldve thought id be attracted to someone like him. Its like no matter how far I go I cant ever forget about him its so frustrating. My Venus was conjunct his Pluto in Capricorn in my 3rd house so the way we talked to each other was very agressively but strangely we find comfort in it? Talking to him was easy too but lemme tell you when we argued WE ARGUED like it was HEATED. Our friend group always felt so uncomfortable whenever we went back and forth with each other. So yeah i would say really look at what house this conjunction happens in because for me it affected my house of mind, communication, and friends but if it falls in a deeper house like the 8th house the affects would be like 10x more magnified. Alot of people say its a sexual aspect but I really just think it depends on where it lands. I fell hard because im a plutonian person in general i have a Scorpio Moon and Lilith conjunct in the second house and my Venus in the 8th degree.

💙✨ Venus conjunct Moon brings alot of understanding and patience in a friendship/relationship. So ironically the Pluto guy also had his Capricorn Moon conjunct my Venus nd while we did argue alot and made me cry often I always had a soft spot for him. I felt like I understood him and we had many times where we joked around and laughed often. However Venus conjunct Moon can sometimes amplify your emotions to each other if theres other planets in contact with it. In a case like mine BOTH his Pluto and Moon conjuncted my Venus so most of the times our interactions stirred up obesessive and deeper emotions in me. Sometimes he triggered my trauma and i felt judged by him often but as me and him are getting older and are maturing more we stopped attacking each other and started being more honest with how we feel about things. I tell him about my personal struggles and he helps by giving me logical advice. Because of the fact that our aspect was in Capricorn it took us almost 4 years to have proper communication and be able to share our traumas with each other. I trust him alot even though we bicker often and even if he might not like me back hes still such a understanding friend and was there for me when i needed him and that itself is something to appreciate.

💙✨ If one persons Venus doesnt have alot of contact with your planets in your synastry but the other persons Venus has many aspects it may be unrequited. In my instance with the Pluto guy my Venus conjuncted his Moon, Pluto, and Jupiter and trined his Virgo Mars and Saturn while the only aspects his Leo Venus made to my planets was Venus opposition Sun and sextile Vertex. From the guy I really do believe he should have atleast some type of contact with your big six in order for him to feel something.

💙✨ So going back to the Venus and Saturn couple they also had Venus conjunct Lilith in Saggitarius and she was the one who got away. So like i said she was obsessed with him and everybody knew it too. I mean when she found out I also liked him she started hating me even though i never acted on my feelings and tried to supress it. He was the Lilith in this case and you can really see that hes attracted to her but theyre lowkey toxic sometimes. He blew hot and cold to her multiple times and everytime she got a boyfriend he wants her back like what?? She wouldve done anything for him but nah he sold. Theyre never gonna forget about each other and this aspect in my opinion has a very “the one that got away” type feel to it.

💙✨ Even if your planets dont make an aspect you can still feel it sometimes. I have a Gemini Mars and Pluto guy had a Virgo Mars and lemme tell you our arguements were BAD even though they didnt make an aspect. He always knew how to retaliate to whatever i said and always had a slick comment to throw in and my fucked up Gemini Mars self found that interesting which looking back at im hella concerned. I also cant forget that his Mars conjuncted my Saturn and my Mars squared his Saturn so the intensity came from all ends not just the signs.

Onto Composite!

(Just a Disclaimer all of these observations are made off of me and the Pluto guy)

💙✨ Having a Taurus Sun in composite can mean that both people are stubborn. Im just gonna use my experience to explain this but having Taurus in the position of Sun can be either bad or good. Me and Pluto are young we’re both still in highschool so i know this wont be how we are gonna act forever but our relation to each other was a very slow process. It took YEARS for us to get out of the arguing with each other/ insulting each other phase since the 6th grade but damn sometimes i really feel like he doesnt ever get what im trying to say. We move so SLOW when it comes to our friendship and also communication because our Mercury is Conjunct the Sun in Taurus too. I read on a blog named awda on here that Taurus Sun couples never expect to catch feelings and its so true. To start with I never really liked him when i saw him back in middle school but in 8th grade i caught feelings bad nd since then i havent been able to forget about it. And weirdly alot of people ship us too. Ive read online that this placement means comfort with each other and while yes i have felt it sometimes, i feel that the comfort aspect of Taurus Sun in composite only applies if the chart is filled with trines and sextiles. Our composite is just squares and oppositions everywhere so we feel the stubborness and uncompromising aspect of the Taurus energy more than anything else. Ive done everything I possibly can to try to move on but im honestly stuck with him for a while now. Thats how Taurus Sun feels in my opinion. Its long lasting and not something you can run away from. People will ship you as a couple and yall might be like nooooo i would never but then boom one day you actually catch feelings. And who knows maybe one day he will I mean thats what my our older mutual friend tells me. I have no clue how he ever feels and I know its because of his natal Capricorn Moon but ive always held a soft spot for him deep down. Ive always wanted to look after him and wanted him to put his trust into me but it was never like that i guess. Maybe one day it will progress into something more who knows?

💙✨ Venus square Mars was another aspect that we held in alot of our midpoint charts like the progressed composite, the regular composite, and the davison chart. When i tell you how potent the energy of this aspect was to us even though we had Venus trine Mars in synastry. Ive always asked him why do you like arguing with me? Why do you like bothering me? But hes never really been able to give an answer. And i think thats just how this energy is. You start to find comfort in the disagreements and in a way it kept us stimulated. It was a way for me and him to connect and become friends. Dont get me wrong there were times where we genuinely got on each other nerves but with time we got more mature and learn how to talk things out and respect each others boundries. We still bicker obviously i really feel like thats never gonna go away lmao but its wayyyy more toned down now. Im not even trying to be delusional but i sometimes feel like hes always fixated on me the most in social situations and many people have pointed it out to me. Even if it might not be romantic it can still make the two people infatuated with each other. You know the saying “theres a fine line between love and hate” this is literally that aspect in a nutshell. You just have to figure out how to express your feelings for one another in a healthy way otherwise you can start to find the other person to be annoying and irritating. This aspect had me all over the place man liking someone and hating them at the same time was crazyyy.

💙✨Make sure you check your progressed composite too. Obviously relationships change and i think the progressed version of the chart is more realistic in how things are in the present time. In our regular chart we have Venus in Libra which i was like eh that doesnt really match us that well. But when i saw the progressed chart it showed that we have Venus in Scorpio conjunct Mercury in the 10th degree and it makes muchhhh more sense. The twisted way we talk to each other and the deep conversations feel more fitting to Scorpio than Libra. We recently started to open up to each other more and this progression happened in 2023 compared to in 2019 when we first met Mercury was conjunct the Sun in Taurus. So we went from stubborn arguements to being more comprehensive but snarky nonetheless. Also it explains me not losing feelings too lmao. Im only really speaking from my side ive had no clue how he felt but I know that he was just as clueless as me. In our original composite we had Sun square Mars and Mercury opposition Venus and we were like cats and dogs back then. Now, in 2024 we have Mercury conjunct Venus and Sun sextile moon along with Moon trine Venus and Mercury. The Sun square Mars aspect went away and were on the same wavelength alot more now. Its really interesting to see how it changed you should definitely check it out if you get the chance to.

💙✨Just something that I observed but all the girls he liked they had an aspect of venus trine moon and some type of positive aspect from venus and mars. All of them were weirdly unrequited though and i still dont know how to figure out how people get stuck in the friendzone using composite but i think it depends on the house and peoples natal charts. I dont have their birth time so i couldnt figure the house things out but look to see where the big six fall and what sign the ascendant is in.

Meeting Some Phantom Troupe Men At a Party

Trying something new~ Tell me if you like this and want more characters for this type of theme or something different, I'll try my best~ Sorry if some characters aren't in character, I tried my best~ Also sorry if theres poor grammar or anything, I only looked over it once before posting~ Alternate universe kinda, but whatever you imagine works, Please enjoy ^-^

Trigger Warnings: Mentions of alcohol, drugs, sexual themes but no full on smut, and suicide mention that goes along with one of the short fics

Feitan -

You go out onto the balcony of the large penthouse for some fresh air. Feitan has been out there the whole time all by himself, just overlooking the city. You both can hear the faint music, and the sounds of the city. It's dark, but you're both illuminated by neon lights from inside the party every so often. I feel like Feitan would be messing around with his umbrella, just waiting for the night to be over. You'd look a little too far off the edge (idk if for interest reasons or suicidal reasons) and Feitan would come closer to you, interested in what you might do. I feel like you'd both just stare at each other for a while, not really talking. You'd probably try to break the ice of why you were looking over, and Feitan would just listen to you, interested in whatever reason you might have. I feel like the rest of the night would be you, talking a lot, and Feitan listening, not speaking once. Just you and him, the cool breeze, bustling city and lights around you both, sharing a moment with just the two of you. It would comfort the both of you.

Phinks -

Phinks would be at the bar, sipping on some hard liquor, egging on arm wrestling and fights going on around him. I feel like you'd be the bartender, refilling his drink as he'd be yelling at the guy's, music loud and pounding. He'd stare at you a lot, and you'd stare back, every once and a while serving him free booze. He'd catch on, and try flirting with you, but you both wouldn't be able to hear each other. After a while of the frustration, I feel like you'd both meet up in one of the random bedrooms, a steamy make out session erupting. The room would feel private, and cozy, dim modern lighting around you both, the faint sound of music in the background, penthouse window illuminating you both by the city lights. Phinks would taste of hard liquor, and be a rough kisser, but somehow gentle, and almost sweet in the session.

Hisoka -

Hisoka would definitely be the host of the party. He has a couple penthouses he owns honestly. I think you'd meet him in a game of spin the bottle. He'd be looking at you seductively as he'd spin the bottle for his turn, making you nervous. Then it would land on you, and you'd be panicking a bit. Hisoka would initiate, standing up and walking towards you as you sat on the rug, and smile devilishly. He'd bend down, putting his finger under your chin, and tilting your head upwards. The kiss would be intense, and the other people playing the game wouldn't notice because they'd be drunk and high off their asses. You'd melt away into the kiss, hungry tongues fighting for dominance. Hisoka would pick you up and call you the "lucky princess~" of the night, carrying you into his master bedroom. I feel like after your intense time together, he'd draw a bath in his large jacuzzi, and you'd both have a intimate moment washing each other, laughing, sipping on wine, candles lit, the crazy party just right outside the master bathroom, it just being you two in your own bubbly world. If any drunk person accidently would open the door, Hisoka would tease them by offering them to join both of you.

Chrollo -

Chrollo would be in the corner of the dancefloor, sipping expensive liquor, observing. He'd see you dancing with your friends, rocking your hips seductively, not a care in the world, and not noticing him watching you. He'd gain more interest in your carefree, lighthearted seeming nature, and approach you. You'd be a bit surprised, but he'd steal you away from your friends, dancing with you where your bodies were close to one another. You'd be so nervous, but excited because he's so charming and mysterious. As you both danced a few more songs, the music shaking the dancefloor, blinding lights flashing erratically, he'd pick you up, wanting to give you a more intimate private experience. Your friends would be giggling watching him carry you off like a prince. When you'd both arrive in what looked to be a office, Chrollo would first hoist you up on the desk, kissing you passionately, after kissing for a bit, he'd ask you about something he's been wanting to try. The office has a window that elongates to the floor. You'd agree, and he'd lift you up again, asking you if you trust him. When you say you do, he'd push your back up against the window, still carrying you in his arms. The tall skyscraper has a beautiful view of the whole neon city behind you, the office is dark, and you're kissing Chrollo passionately in his arms, holding onto him tightly as he does the same to you. It's just him and you against the world.

Illumi -

Illumi would be observing the city from a large window in the main area of the penthouse. Lots of people would be around him, but he'd zone them out, just zoning in on the view. You would stumble over, a bit drunk and crying, accidentally almost falling onto him. Illumi would catch you almost robotically, just a bit shocked by the situation. You'd be hugging his arm, sobbing over something in your life, and Illumi would just pet you like you're a strange creature. After a while of crying onto Illumi's arm, you'd sit down next to him, apologizing and thanking him. You'd both pick up conversation, mostly you just venting about your life, and Illumi listening. You'd drink more alcohol much to Illumi's dismay, but he'd secretly enjoy the company, and entertainment. After drinking far too much, you'd fall asleep on Illumi, a huge smile on your face. Illumi would just pet you as you slept like you're a cat, looking out at the bustling city through the window again, this time a faint smile tugging on his lips.

Uvo -

You'd attempt a drinking game with him, you both yelling for more beer as you both chugged away. Uvo would compliment you yelling, "strong little lady!" Punching you softly on your shoulder as you kept up pace with him. A crowd would gather, you both enjoying the attention. Uvo would notice that the crowd would begin suffocating you, you getting lost in the sea of bodies. Uvo would pick you up with one arm, putting you on his beefy shoulder, offering you another mug of beer. You'd be smiling widely, thanking him profusely, him smiling ear to ear. You'd be able to see over the crowd, having the time of your life as Uvo would support you perfectly on his body. Eventually you'd not be able to handle the liquor anymore, clinging onto Uvo as you'd try not to hurl. Uvo would pat your head, messing up your hair, saying "I'm proud of you little lady!" And you'd pass out with a beaming smile on his shoulder.

Shalnark -

Shalnark and you would go up against one another in Just Dance. Shalnark would be surprisingly good, being goofy shaking his hips and all. Even though he'd look so goofy, he'd be teasing you about if you could beat him, all cocky like. You'd give him the middle finger, giving it your all. After you beat him the first round, you'd both make a bet, that the winner gets to ask for one thing from the other. Shalnark would get competitive with the stakes, already knowing what he wants to ask. He beats you best of three by going ham the last two rounds, you both sweating profusely. He'd ask for a kiss, blushing and awkwardly putting his hand behind his head. You'd tease him, but still approach him for a kiss. You'd both kiss each other furiously, the game causing a lot of sexual tension between you both. You'd both not care as you brought it over to the couch, you straddling his lap in the firey kiss. Shalnark would be blushing from head to toe, gripping onto your hips, moaning and all. People would stare at you both, but you'd both be lost in your own little world, competing for each other's tongues and moans.

nono dont worry ! ! im no expert on anything queer- i dont even have real labels when it comes to being on the aroace spectrum- (and honestly i dont care too- i just know what i prefer and make that known to my partners)) but i get exactly what you mean ! ! everyone has their own parameters for 'romantic' and 'platonic' relationships and honestly any forms of intimacy can fall into both ! in my opinion i think that makes you fall into the ace spectrum, but its genuinely all about what you want for yourself and your relationships. you draw the lines in those.

i met with a good friend yesterday and it was really nice but something is bothering me and i wish it didnt.

so she has started to call herself a „queer feminist“. she kept talking about „queer“ this and „queer“ that and at some point talked about reading a „queer“ book. thats when i interjected and said what does queer mean? this tells me nothing. is it about a trans male experience, about a lesbian woman, this doesnt mean anything (turned out to be about a bisexual woman which is why she related which she probably wouldnt have if it was about a different type of „queer“ person). so i go on saying thats why i find the term useless. she says she finds it a useful umbrella term and i say umbrella for what? she says „what if for example a woman dates a nonbinary person?“ im like well it depends if the person is male or female since sexuality is still based on sex. what do i as a bisexual woman have in common with a straight man who thinks he‘s a woman? i dont see us as part of the same group. and while she wasnt able to explain the usefulness of the term she said she would keep using it. out of principle i guess.

and it frustrates me because she like many other women is an intelligent and reflected woman whose opinion matters to me but she seems to mindlessly parrot whats popular right now which makes me take her opinion on feminism a lot less serious. how are you a feminist but you think one can identify in and out of womanhood? who are womens rights for then? people who identify as women or people who are women? at the end of the day, if you think women can stop being women under certain conditions, i just dont know how you are helping the liberation of women.

i just cant take people seriously who earnestly use nothing terms like „queer“ and „nonbinary“ and who think me an extremist for not pretending the person we both know is a woman is a „nonbinary person“. it doesnt seem like she has thought about why its predominantly women identifying as nonbinary, and what background these people have (we live in a very liberal city and shes doing her masters in a program and at a university that is breathing queer theory). its like a virus, smart women suddenly regurgitating and internalising all this seemingly without ever considering the implications and consequences. and it creates a distance between women like my friend and i who definitely share a value system but i refuse to pretend and just accept.

she doesnt even know theres many lesbian, gay, bisexual and even trans people who dont consider themselves „queer“. „queer“ is its own community and NOT an umbrella term for same sex attracted or gender dysphoric people (who are already not a coherent group). depending who you ask, asexuals and intersex people are also included. which basically makes „queer“ another term for „different“ (which is its original meaning completely lost here because we are in germany and only use queer in this context).

and since we had debates in the past i already know where it will go when we talk about it. she considers me to be extreme anyways so we will start with her wanting to reject my opinion. it will end with her saying „i cant argue with that (my arguments) but i still disagree“ because its so scary to start questioning all that while youre in these super „queer“ environments.
