Ko-Fi requeest for T! day 50!
(they gave me a couple ideas for the prompt too, one of them being a poetry read! i thought it might be cute if instead of snapping they did like. soft little howls)
The second part was extra as a v fun exercise! I think werewolves in general would have a lot of diversity in style and shifted/half-shifted forms so this gave me an excuse to play around with that :) thought I should include a werehyena bc that's the wolf substitute for the shape-shifters of African folklore (and *jaguars in south america, tigers in India, etc!)
Also in doing a little bit of research for Black werewolf characters I found this super cool werewolf comic I wanted to highlight by Michelin Hess, a Black author/artist! She has other work that you should check out too. In fact, feel free to shout out any of your favorite Black artists in the comments or tags! Or let me know the other ways y'all are celebrating this month :)

Her brook Idk if your req are closed so read this at your convenience 🙏
I wanted to ask for a male harpy reader strawhat hc or if not just hc with luffy, more specifically based off a bird with heavy feathers like a snowy owl cause I’d love to imagine that he complains about the heat a lot and wonders why he’s sweating more then usual but it’s just luffy hugging his legs cus he’s so soft
Love your work brook 🙏☺️
nope! Still open lovely anon<3
when I tell you I did NOT know what a harpy was 🤦♀️ I had to do research for accuracy 😅😋
but don’t worry it’s all good I’ll be more than happy to do your request!
I’m telling you right here right now luffy would most definitely be interested in a reader like this!! You know how many unique animals and such he tried to recruit into the crew that weren’t even human?? 😂💗
and thank you!! I’m so happy you enjoy my headcanons :) that makes me very happy!
Okay I’m just saying…….like chopper…if you look more animal than human….his first thought is to eat you
”you think he tastes good?” 😋
😭😭
IT JUST IS !!
moving on…♡
He thinks your wings are really cool
I mean a 6.5 ft wing span…….I do too!!
definitely wanted to measure them to check after he learned that
to which he got himself wrapped up in the measuring tape
Both you and luffy eat “strange” animals
such as sloths, monkeys, porcupines, squirrels, opossums, armadillo’s, anteaters and sometimes parrots…..other birds too 😋🍴
No animal is safe 😭
every island you go to the two of you immediately start scouting for whatever variety of yummy foods you could find
”I’ve got news for you two—normal people don’t eat those animals”
- Nami ♡
it taste absolutely delicious to you!!
honestly you probably got Luffy into eating them
which so funny because he already loves eating all types of weird things
which is probably why he was so easy to convince him to eat it too
like he would normally see a monkey and go oh cool a monkey!
but now….😈😈
not all the time tho
mostly when he’s hungry
……….so I guess I lied, yes all the time 🤦♀️🤷♀️
he saw you eating a armadillo with some sloth on the side and was like
oooo I gotta try that 🤪🤪
you might dislike for cats seeing as though a harpy’s predator is a jaguar
Least baby harpy’s anyway…
still! 😠
it’s good for you that the sunny is big once y’all upgrade from merry
it has plenty of rooms with shade for you, since a harpy’s natural habitat is rainforests
and they mainly stay in the shade anyway :)
franky probably had a room built that simulates a rainforest for your comfort 💕
like how he simulated the grass
once Luffy found out harpy’s are rare to find and you found the tori tori no mi - model: harpy- it was pretty much settled for you to join the crew :)
like he loves rare stuff!
it’s like treasure!
and you know darn well a pirate will fight for his treasure! 😼
you use your high pitch bird call to reunite the strawhats whenever you guys get separated (which is like- every time you go on an adventure 😀 besides the point-)
it’s loud enough and ranges far enough to the point where it’s more efficient than yelling
very much so comes in handy when your in danger too
also not to mention luffy is 100% gonna wanna fly on your back since you have wings
he probably won’t even ask
he’ll just rocket onto your back while your flying one day and refuse to get off cuz it’s fun
it likely ends with him spotting something cool, telling you to go over to it and getting you two into trouble
just be ready for the
😬😁 ✊😠 💥💥 😖😓
sequence again
flying also comes in handy when saving the strawhat’s BUTT!
You and Robin like 🦅🦅
LOLLL
but no fr you literally just swoop in and save the day 🦸
SUPERRRRRRR M/N!! *super man pose* better yet *franky pose*
Zoro will also appreciate it if you catch him while falling because I swear that man is always getting smacked around-
same with Nami 🧡
another time
Robin was stating facts about harpy’s when the strawhats first met you, and you were confirming
she mentioned that they typically lived 35-45 years (but she was talking about the ANIMAL.)
Luffy—of course—mistook this
“WHAAAT?! YOU MEAN TO TELL ME OUR NEW NAKAMA’S GONNA DIE SOON?!”
*Nami steps in*
”CALM DOWN IDIOT THATS NOT WHAT SHE SAID!!” 💥💥
“……..and besides..! M/n’s not an animal! He’s still a person you know?! Sheesh…..of course he’s gonna live the lifespan of a human”
Sanji will of course cook any animal of your request into your meal
if it’s more nutritious for you—then certainly he’ll do so!
he always prioritizes nutritional value in his meals, and thats different for everybody!
Luffy however….he will get annoyed with 😂
”GO AWAY STUPID *kicks across room* YOU DONT NEED THIS TO SURVIVE! THIS IS FOR M/N!”
your like one of the few men in his life Sanji doesn’t hate
okay I know that was more harpy facts related so now I’ll get into the scenario you mentioned 😅💗
Luffy uses you for warmth in the winter (all the strawhats do)
like chopper ;P
especially with your large and soft wings
”M/n…spread your wings out..we need your warmth..”
-Zoro
you’ve been complaining about the heat all day
You felt like you were ON FIRE.
like seriously?! What was gon on today?!
it’s not like birds need to shed……so why are you burning up!??
”mmmm…your so warm M/n!”
”LUFFY?!”
”shishishishishi!”
”no wonder I felt heavier than usual!! Get off me Luffy!”
”awwhhhh WHYYYYYY?”
”what?! Why?! Because I’m burning up! I already have all these feathers! You’ve got to get off of me Luffy!”
*whines* “but mmmmm/nnnnnn! Your so waaaarrrrm!”
*sighs and face palms* *attempts to pry him off*
“noooooo m/nnnnnn! I don’t waaaaanna get ooofff!!”
Luffy practically had you in a literal choke hold
he was not about to let you go.
and you know he’s got himself wrapped alllllll the way around 😂😂
once again thank you for the compliment my dear!!
Hopefully I did your hcs justice and that you enjoyed them! <3

Kitten Licks
Summary: You work with your friend with benefits, Miguel O'Hara in a restaurant in Nueva York as a bartender, but you both have secrets you cannot share. Will you be able to keep it, or will the cat come out of the bag?
part 1 - part 2
TW: alcohol, work, tiny bit of violence, stealing.
The black night sky made the air cold against your skin, jumping from rooftop to rooftop. The soft, shiny material of your catsuit made you warm against the cool breeze of the wind that hit your face and you heard the sirens in the distance. You had about 15 minutes before they realized that the most precious gem of the new egyptian display at the Met was stolen, and you had 16 minutes before Spider-man
would be on your ass and barreling towards you like a battering ram at the speed of a jaguar, swinging with the pure intention of justice or whatever crap he spouted to the press.
The adrenaline was completely worth it and you couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement flow through you as you thought of the large man coming to find and apprehend you. He almost always won, but you were never taken away.
On top of this all, you worked tonight with your friend with benefits and coworker, which meant you’d probably end up hooking up with him and staying at his house, which meant you needed to shower about your heist.
The gem in your bag was worth a couple million dollars, and you’d definitely add a delivery fee to whatever price Kingpin was going to throw at you. You weren’t some errand girl, you were a professional thief, a real life Lupen, a cat burglar for the rich and famous.
That is how you got your name. Well, that, and your super powers, but those were an accident.
“Gatito.” A voice rang through your ears as your turned a corner and saw the glowing red mask you knew would be making an appearance soon., But this was too soon.
“What took you so long, Spidey? I was starting to think you retired.” You tossed the stone from one hand to the other, balancing on one leg and quickly judging your surroundings for an exit strategy.
“That would make your life too boring.” He replied, folding his arms and narrowing his eyes. You’d debated hooking a clawed finger into the fabric of that holographic suit and revealing his face, but he would never let you get that close. Only once had you gotten that close to him, and both of your hands had been restrained. He was strong. “Give me the gem.”
“Fine, how much are you willing to pay?”
“Your bail.” His sarcasm made your body feel like it was on fire, and you smiled playfully, showing off your unnecessarily sharp canines.
“Not enough. See, my other client is paying me that tenfold and not putting me in jail, so I’ll have to pass, but thanks for the offer!” You waved and backflipped onto the rooftop below, sliding into an open window and shifting throughout the house quickly, as quiet as a mouse. Your heart pounded as you saw flashes of red and blue against the window, but you knew he wouldn’t risk barging into a household for you and the stone. Your feet pattered against the hard floor as you found a window on the opposite side of the apartment you’d broken into and you slipped down onto the fire escape, shimmying around the metal beams to hop across to the next building.
You’d thought you’d lost him until an arm grabbed you mid air and yanked you onto a fire escape, your body pressed against his as you heard his breathing begin to relax.
“You’re not as slick as you think you are.” He mumbled and pulled your bag open, only to see it was empty.
“And you’re not as smart as you think you are.” You growled back and jumped over him, climbing the ladder of the fire escape and kicking him onto the railing, hearing a soft ‘oof’ before jumping into the night and landing on the sidewalk.
With that, you ripped your mask off and fluffed your hair to blend in with the masses of people in Nueva York and your job was complete. You escaped with the artifact and got past spiderman. Success tasted good.
You’d give the stone to Kingpin that same week, but the only goal you had for the rest of the night was to sleep so you could function at your job in a handful of hours, and sleep evaded you almost immediately when you got into bed that night.
The next day, you walked into work with your bag on your shoulder and heard a deep voice call out your name.
“Late night?” Miguel called over the bar as you set down your bag and glanced behind you to his register.
“Sorta.” You answered and shoved your bag under the countertop, looking up at him as he poured vodka into a tin to prepare whatever cocktail he was making. You tugged off your sweatshirt and dropped it into your bag, then closed the cabinet and stood up straighter as he looked you over. “How’d you know?”
“Your eyes are glassy.” He concluded as he shook the drink and poured it out into a short glass. His eyes found yours and you furrowed your brows while scoffing at his comment.
“Thanks.” You answered and he rolled his eyes, making you catch a glimpse of a large bruise on the back of his neck. “What about you? Get some action last night?”
“What? No, don’t be ridiculous. Why would you even-” He turned to you defensively and glared at you with annoyance as you interrupted.
“The back of your neck. Is it a bruise or a hickey?” You wiped your hands with a rag and studied his reaction as he suddenly got a bit nervous.
“Bruise. I walked into something.”
“Backwards?”
“No, just-” He sighed, stuttering a bit now, “I bent down and hit my neck on something.”
“Then you didn’t walk into anything.” You added, poking him in the side and laughing.
“What are you, a cop?”
“Nah, just concerned. Seems like you’ve got some memory loss from that hit.” You continued to joke until he splashed you with water from the sink as your manager walked out and sighed.
“Can you two stop flirting and get back to work?” Ben sulked and pinched his nose, still wearing sunglasses.
“Ben, I’m not even clocked in.“ You answered and he looked up while flaring his nostrils.
“Then fucking do it.” He barked and you just ignored him, tapping the register screen and watching him storm away as an older couple sat at the bar while you tied on a little apron, moving to grab a tray and looking around for any new tables. “You’re on bar tonight!” Ben yelled across the restaurant as you huffed. Turning to face Miguel, he waved at you and tossed a bar key to you as you made your way back to the bar.
“You’re at service bar.”
“You are my greatest enemy.” You answered as he smiled and winked, wiping down a martini glass as you hung your head.

Ok so I am buzzed on an weird cocktail of ollipop orange soda, bourbon and peach snaps. I'm exhausted from work and just thsi whole week I've been just like out of it and kinda forgot how to person. I'm a cocktail of things drinkin a cocktail of things.
But do any of yall fuckin remember REAL STEEL??
Man that is unironically one of my favorite robot movies and ain't nobody talkin about it!! Like first of all it's got boxing in it, which is always dope as someone who is a big fan of that sport. It's got ROBOTS (duh) and their all really cool designs too. Like you got to see a broad spectrum of different designs and materials used. From ones make like a they a jaguar car with shiny paint and sleep anrodymanic designs. To robots that looked like they were made out of you're old 1994 ford trucks, rusted and banged up. All of them felt like they were inspired by rock'em sock'em robots. with built in headgears and gloves. Some of them even had their neck pop up like the toy did i swear I saw that in a scene in the movie, I'm like 89% sure they made that visual gag at some point. LIKE IT'S SUCH GOOD ROBOT DESIGNS.
Also the fucking animation was really good too??? Like if you go watch a clip of it right now. you will be impressed at how good the lighting is on these robots. And they got DARING with the lighting, day time, night time, during a storm with flashing lightening, back lit by different things, in a dingy hallway, in a professional boxing ring. They did not hesitate to put the models and shaders thew their fuckin paces. Not to mention they put in the effort of adding motion blur and camera blur and close ups and far away shots. And honestly it still fucking holds up, like it legitimately looks good enough that you're brain can very easily accept it into the reality of the world their in.
And this bitch was made in 2011
I've seen movies from the last three years that looked worse than a nobody film about boxing robots.
Think about that.
Also animation aside the story is really nice too. Is it like a super stereotypical 'rookie makes it too the top' type story that is very similar to Rocky? Yes. But you just walked into a fucking boxing movie what did you expect??? Plus that's not the whole picture. It's more than just about a robot who boxes, it about a human man finding his self worth again. About finally connecting to people and himself. It'll make you cry man. It made me cry. I'm crying right now oh my god.
Anyways. peeps need to watch this movie and I need to go lie down.
i'm blazing this because reasons.
lol

bh6 au bh6 au bh6 au!!! AHUAHSF but heya, hope you're doing well, and we dont have a specific name for this au yet, mayhaps we can find one but yesyes bh6 au!! (i am going insane /lh) me is attempting to write rn hehe <3
BH6 AU💪💪💪
It’s so cool, me and the asker have been working on it <333 instead of gifts, they specialize in certain tech and stuff 🗿
Basically Pedro is there. And it’s Antonio’s presentation at the college (he’s still 5, they’re all prodigies and presented at 5, except Mirabel who presented a little later cause she hadn’t decided her science concentration yet 😭😭). Anyway, Pedro sacrifices himself to save Señora Guzmán and boom died.
Alma hid the project he was gonna show the family that he was working on for a long time: Baymax. Basically Mirabel and the grandkids find him and he’s chill, helping them grieve and stuff. The pressure for this au is Alma taking Pedro’s saying “someone has to help” as the family needed to use their tech and intelligence around the city to help other people. And never expand on their tech. Always the same thing.
Anyway, here’s their sciences (all the Madrigals, including the husbands + Alma and Oedro are like. Literal prodigies, mostly in science, but other stuff 🤧):
Fields of Study:
pedro - robotics
alma - forensic engineering
-------
julieta - health sciences
agustin - language and literature
pepa - meteorology
felix - sociology and music
bruno - physics
-------
isabela - botany
dolores - acoustics
luisa - kinesiology
camilo - neuroscience
mirabel - psychology
antonio - zoology
—————
There’s so much more about this au but like. That’s the gist of it <333 if you guys have any ideas LET US KNOWWWWW ‼️‼️‼️ the adults actually later becomes hero’s and funnily enough they’re all hiding it from each other and Alma is entirely clueless 😭😭
Well, the grandkids become super cool heros and obviously Baymax is there (I didn’t draw him YET 💀) and here are their designs <333 COLOR COMING TO TUMBKR DASH NEAR YOU📸📸
Here’s their tech and stuff:
Isabela, maybe something similar to Honey Lemon, but she uses the chemicals of different plants that has different (non lethal) effects? She throws pollen pods like honey lemon does and whatever plants she makes all disappear after a certain amount of time or something, oh and her vines she uses to swing ofc, they're very durable. CARBON FIBER VINES ❗❗
Dolores, maybe she uses soundwaves and sounds in general, and uses something similar to a giant megaphone and speaks; does a lot of knockback.
Luisa, I feel like she would have attachable enhancements, kinda like gauntlets and boots that allow her to further utilize her strength and stamina etc etc
Camilo, maybe his tech tricks the mind, lots of illusions and stuff, and he definitely has a camouflage suit, so he's good for stealth and sneaking up on enemies. He might also go beyond from just people, might even have animals and objects too since its really illusion (mayhaps an upgrade later down the line in their endeavor) Ohhh, a upgrade would be really good and show how he (and the others) develop his tech further
Mirabel’s tech works with Baymax, so it's pretty similar to Hiro's, though I think she would be a jack of all trades as well. Also mentioned in what i wrote that she has a bag of tech goodies (inspired by her good ol bag in canon and also that one ask i saw about her magic bag)
Antonio, like I said before, uses robot animals. He builds them and sends then out, controlling them maybe via a headset similar to the microbots, and the animals have cameras so he can see what they see. I think maybe when he builds P.A.R.C.E (the giant robot jaguar; a.k.a Precision Automated Robotic Companion Entity) the other grandkids will let him go out to battle. Also lets him be at the final battle.
Still working on the adults 🤭🤭🤭

Ru-kun’s Excessive Guitar Collection
Fell down a rabbit hole debating what guitar Ru-kun plays and decided there was no reason to narrow it down to one lol. Also he’s totally the type to just have way more guitars (and shoes) then he could possibly ever use and should totally have one of those epic guitar walls whenever he gets around to making that recording room.
Squier Contemporary Jaguar HH ST Electric Guitar (Sky Burst Metallic): His first guitar. He bought it as a teenager living in Endeavor’s house to a) make noise and piss his father off and b) because he really liked the color. It’s still his favorite. He played it in his junior-high garage band Band Aids. Fans saw a bit of it during the first few years of No Scrubs’ live shows, back when they still played in tiny dive bars and Ru-kun was so close you could touch him 😭. It makes fans very nostalgic whenever they catch sight of it.
Fender American Ultra Stratocaster Electric Guitar (Arctic Pearl): Another guitar he bought because it was very pretty (let’s be real, that’s the reason he bought all of them). Achieved critical acclaim as a fan favorite when Ken-chan grabbed it out of his hands on stage and threatened to beat a belligerent drunk out of the venue with it. She was talked out of it after Ru-kun said she’d have to pay for a new one if she busted it over some guy’s head.
Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro V Flame Top Electric Guitar (Blueberry Burst): Super glossy beautiful guitar with a great sound. Recorded the albums Thanks I Hate it Here and Good News for People Who Love Bad News with this guitar. He also gives it away in MDNSY Ch 39 to Shouto, who treasures this beauty as it deserves, even if he really doesn’t know how to play it all that well.
Gretsch “Stump-O-Matic” Electromatic Electric Guitar (White): He really likes to play this one during live shows, very versatile and unfussy. Played it all throughout the ‘Scrubs Unite’ tour and eventually gives it away to Izuku in MDNSY Ch 38(?) and reclaims it briefly in FLW Ch 29 to play Say It Ain’t So.
Gibson Lzzy Hale Signature Explorerbird Electric Guitar (Cardinal Red): His guitar for the “I’m never going to Hosu again” show Makoto dragged them all to during their hiatus in MDNSY Ch 15, aka the guitar he serenaded Tensei with 🤣 Also recorded Glass Onion Heart on this guitar, bc I love the idea of him playing Misery Business on this baby. He also posed for his magazine cover for Sound & Sundry in FLW Ch 20 with this guitar.
D’Angelico Premier Series Gramercy LS Acoustic Guitar (Matte Sky Burst): I call this the Limitless guitar cause it’s just the perfect color to match his eyes lol. He went out and bought this just to record the acoustic album Tensei guilt-tripped him into making, Don’t You Know Who I (Think) I Am. Also serenaded Hawks with it during the No Scrubs radio interview with Present Mic in FLW Chapter 23.
Fender American Pro II Stratocaster Electric Guitar (Miami Blue): Very cool vintage blue guitar he recorded Death Before Decaf on, bc I love the very neon 90′s era look and I love the idea of him playing Nirvana/Weezer/3EB tributes (even if no one knows they’re tributes) on it even more. It’s also Yui’s favorite guitar, for obvious reasons. Did he buy it because he knows it’s her favorite color? Probably. He already promised he’d never sell off his collection (gifting them is another story) but he especially promised not to part with this one. It’s a legacy guitar that’s going to end up in the hands of someone special someday (aka Eri lol)
Fender H.E.R Stratocaster (Chrome Glow): I have been told rather reliably by the mysteriously large amount of friends I have in indie bands that there’s no such thing as too many guitars, and on a related note, no such thing as too many Stratocasters. I am obsessed with H.E.R’s stratocaster and I can 100% envision it being custom made by Fender for Ru-Kun once No Scrubs reaches the international critical acclaim they deserve. He names it Infinity, and records the album Infinity on High with it. In recorded performances for the album he alternates between this one and the Gibson Explorerbird.
Duesenberg USA Starplayer Electric Guitar (Crimson Red): Yet another stunning guitar with a very vintage vibe. I was so torn on whether I liked the black one or the red one more bc both are so beautiful. Let’s be real he probably buys both but plays the red one live just because it’s pretty and shiny and red always reminds him of Hawks’s wings ♡ Records the May Death Never Stop You album on this baby, and plays the tour of the same name. Also the guitar
Taylor 614ce Special-Edition Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar: Has a lot of Feelings™ and goes out and drops 3k on this baby just because it reminds him of Hawks and that’s got him feeling a way and records his second acoustic album with it. He absolutely plays a lot of Anti-Hero on it, just bc the brand name lol

Ris relationships with all the Madrigals:
Abuela/Alma: Ris somehow is very comforted and very intimidated by her at the same time. she’s the first person that seemed to understand Ris on a deeper level, and they’ll be forever grateful that she allowed them to stay in the enca/nto. But also she passes by and Ris immediately stands up straighter and becomes very respectful, does that make sense agkskg
Julieta: Ris wants her approval sooooo bad, they really admire her and they’d never admit it but she’s like the mom they never had
Agustin: Ris loves this guy, they joke around together a lot and I like to imagine he starts to teach them how to play the piano, also he’s like the dad they never had
Pepa: out of all the parents Ris and Pepa get along the best!! Whenever Pepa is feeling stressed/sad and gets stuck in the rain, Ris likes to sit with her and they just sort of feel sad together, if that makes sense, Ris also goes to Pepa for advice a LOT
Felix: Ris and Felix are the same type of laid back and go with the flow, so they get along great!! they’re also both jokesters and have a talent for bringing out the playfulness in people, I like to think Felix teaches Ris how to dance (they’re awful at it but they’re trying!!)
Bruno: are they best friends? brothers? uncle and niece or father and kid? all and none at the same time!! they’re very much found family but not in any specific way, they just mean a lot to each other and that’s that, Ris and Bruno bond over their OCD tendencies for SURE, and Bruno is the first one to suggest that maybe Ris’ power can bring comfort too
Isabela: gay people! 🎉 but for real they’re both very much creatives and bond over that, they enjoy parallel play with each other a LOT, they just find a lot of comfort and happiness being around each other and like seeing the world through each others eyes!! they’re also both the Last To Know about their feelings for each other, the siblings/cousins make this elaborate scheme to get them to realize they’re in love and it somehow works
Dolores: Ris gets easily embarrassed around her cause they feel like she Knows too much about them, but one time Dolores hears them singing (it’s their secret talent and they don’t like to sing around people) and she asks them about it and they have a heart to heart, after that they both think the other is just a sweetheart
Luisa: Ris relates to Luisa SO HARD, both feeling like they just have to keep a lid on everything and always be the reliable stable one, I think Ris takes on a bit of a big sibling role for her, providing her a space to be angry or sad or tired, I think Luisa looks up to them a lot
Camilo: I think Ris and Camilo love to cause trouble together, I think he sees them as The Cool Older Cousin and they’re one of the few people who can scold him and actually make an impression sgjskg, also he helps his dad teach Ris to dance (they need all the help they can get)
Mirabel: Ris thinks Mirabel’s connection to Casita is sooooo cool, and they’re the first person to suggest that the house chose her as Alma’s successor and the next matriarch, Mirabel thinks Ris is super cool and is one of the main people to help them explore their power more, but she thinks Ris and Isa’s crush on each other is obnoxious sgjskg
Antonio: Ris LOVES kids and gets along with Antonio really well!! they listen to him chatter on about animal facts, and Antonio helps them get comfortable with touch/contact again! Ris is really afraid to hurt him or his animals, but Antonio is a sweet and patient kid, I like to think one of the first times Ris controls their power and doesn’t inflict pain is when Antonio guides them to pet the jaguar

been a minute since i've answered yall asks, sorry about that. been having health issues again. sighs.
tw / tags: monster fucking, snake anatomy, breeding mentions
Do you have any thoughts about slime-like monsters? I personally find monsters with… unstable??? body structure quite interesting cuz of their potential lol. Like, even of they're slow and trembling like jittery jelly, once they have grip on you – you gone, whoops. Struggling r useless, u will only get urself deeper and you can't even do a lot to escape. And bonus points if they're kinda dumb, so by acting silly and goofy they're practically gaslighting lmao
—anonymous
i actually have a musing in the work about that one!! its...been in my draft forever...whoops....i'll work on that in just a bit then.
but yes!! theyre also super versatile too! imagine if you have one as a pet...its going to make a pet out of you, oho rip darling.
I wonder how the 6 arms snake god eat. Does he just shallow his prey whole? chew them? Tear them apart then eat them piece by piece? I wonder what is his favorite part of his prey, and his less favorite. I imagine that some times, he eat messy, so reader clean the blood around his mouth with a clean napkin.
—anonymous
i actually kinda imagine him opening his mouth like a snake would since he's no longer a human (w a pic below). but in the beginning, when he's still merging with the snake god, he'd probably start tearing his, ah, meals apart, yeah. i actually don't think his transformation was actually completed by the time he started his initial rampage + he wouldn't have any arm when he first started out too.
oh geez i can see him being super clumsy and floppy trying to learn how to move his new body. poor thing.
his mouth would be like this, maybe with bigger fangs tho. that said, i cant find the original source now :( so if any of you know who this may be by, lmk so i can link the artist!!
Hey-hey! Have you read Mieruko-chan by any chance? Maybe it's only me, but i find designs for ghosts from here rlly cool and some chapters can give some pretty cool concepts/ideas.
Gl on ur day! ✨
—anonymous
i actually have been keeping up with it! poor mc, she's trying her best...I'm crushing on the yandere tentacled head lady atm lol
☆ Put this star into the inbox of your favourite blogs. It's time to spread positivity! 💖
— @berrychan03
dawwww <3 thank you!!! i'll be sure to spread them around~!
Your Jaguar Trube story is really good! I like it. Are you going to make the part 2 for it?
—anonymous
im actually kinda stumped on how to continue this one mainly because of the breeding kink being the primary focus and the reader initially being gn. i feel iffy doing this to my fellow gn readers as well, as i don't wish to exclude them and i don't think im that good of a writer to pull off a gn smut.
i could just do two versions tbh because its a little different between if the reader is afab and if they're amab.
if afab, theyre actually kinda in for some bad time because there's so many males around, possibly around 30 to even 50, and there's a lot of dp to go around because they're sharing them.
if amab, there's not many females around at all, maybe around 4 young adult ones (with the rest being old ladies), though that's not to say the males wouldn't touch them because they def would though lol but i kinda imagined that being amab they wouldn't be in too high of demand and would be given breaks. plus, they don't have to worry about getting pregnant.
i'll take feedback regarding this matter though, so lmk your thoughts on how i should proceed!
anyhoo, gonna try and work on couple overdue commissions i got, but in the meanwhile, feel free to send in whatever (that is currently open lol) love ya bunches!

GODZILLA MOVIE MARATHON: Godzilla vs Megalon (1973)
Oh hey, remember when I was doing this? I am at the whim of my hyperfixations and, luckily, I'm in a Goji mood again. So it's time to pick up right where we left off a year ago and keep this marathon going.
We're deep in the champion series, where Godzilla movies were made every year for Toho's annual movie festivals, which meant cookie cutter scripts and shoe string budgets.
The script is pretty standard by this point, except with the aliens replaced by hilariously incompetent Atlantians. It gets the job done ok, it keeps itself relevant and is relatively entertaining, even if you're still spending most of the runtime waiting for a rubber suit monster to show up.
Speaking of monsters, the plot mainly revolves around a little robot by the name of Jet Jaguar. He spends most of the movie getting yanked around by whoever is in control of him till he inexplicably against consciousness and joins the battle for good. He's an obvious Ultraman rip-off, but he's also a cult favorite for his goofy design and his antics. He gets a lot of love from fans, Evangelion even references him in the Jet Alone episode, and it's easy to see why. He's not the strongest, but he's got spunk, character, and a catchy theme tune. You can't help but love him.
The same goes for the other debut creature, the titular Megalon. The Kaiju in this movie have so much personality, Megalon especially is super expressive. I love his child-like personality, where he gloats and taunts when he's winning but throws a tantrum when he isn't. He cackles and claps and slaps his butt, and despite having no facial expressions, he might as well be talking with how well the suit actor portrays his thoughts. My favorite is his obvious "what the hell" pose when Jet Jaguar and Godzilla escape his fire trap. He's also ridiculously pathetic, dumb as bricks, he ultimately gets knocked down by swallowing one of his own bombs. I love how he just lays there while Goji and JJ just stare at him with contempt. Even his final departure is hilarious with him face planting into a hole as it collapses onto him.
Gigan also makes his return, as cackling and sadistic as ever, and he matches Megalon's energy perfectly. They really do make a perfect duo, real team rocket energy of bumbling bafoons thinking they're badder than they actually are. Gigan's justification for being here is the best, the Atlantians straight up just call the cockroach aliens from the last movie and ask to borrow their monster. Sure, why not?
And of course, Godzilla is here too. He's a full on children's hero, accentuated by the goofy circus music that plays as he walks up to the battle. He's got some cool moments, like singlehandedly stomping both Megalon and Gigan when he first arrives and of course the iconic tail-slide kick.
Overall, many people lump this movie in with vs Gigan as the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the franchise, which I think is unfair. They're both similar movies in that they both live and die by the final battle. While vs Gigan had a really slow, boring fight that really didn't justify having to sit through the rest of the movie, vs Megalon has one of the most fun final battles in the series. If you can sit through the rather tediousn, but not all bad first hour of human plot, you get 20 minutes straight of some of the most expressive and enjoyable Kaiju action of the Showa era.
Interestingly, for some reason a US executive decided this was going to be the Godzilla movie to grab that American demographic, and it was marketed and distributed far more than nearly any film before it. While not an immediate success, it did result in this easily becoming the most common Godzilla outing in video rental stores and late night TV reruns. It shaped Godzilla's image in America more than any other film, for decades the name was synonymous with cheap costumes, goofy effects, and bad dubs. Even to this day, the Monsterverse's take on a heroic Godzilla fighting evil monsters has its roots going back here. Some people may hold resentment towards it for that, but for me personally, I really enjoyed it. It's not the best the Showa era has to offer, but it's certainly up there, so 7/10 seems fair to me.

More MC info because you seem to like it:
Despite Ace's snake-like qualities(cold body temp, retractable fangs, venom and poison) his familiar is a part of the big cat family. Which one? Debating between a Jaguar, a manticore(mythical creature)and a leopard (leaning towards a manticore but idk). Ace is also immune to most poison due to having his own poison.
Bows for barb
I do like MC info lol!
I am so voting for manticore! I just think they're super cool. I mean don't get me wrong, jaguars and leopards are cool, too. But a manticore? Yeahhh mythical creatures all the way!
It does make sense that he'd be immune to poison! I mean, I think? I don't know, I'm realizing I don't actually know anything about that works irl lol. But it sounds like it makes sense!
I do wish they had familiars in the actual game... I think that would've been really fun! Like MC gets a familiar and you can take care of it and all... I'm just trying to get a cat into the HoL that's all.

Did you ever get the chance to watch Wakanda Forever? If you did, what was your verdict on it?
I hadn't, but your ask reminded me to and I had some free time this weekend, so I finally did!
I think, for me at least, every opinion I have about this movie comes with the big asterisk of "considering the circumstances". The loss was conveyed very well, and the resulting grief and revenge-centric plot was very effective. But it was also forced to be that by the aforementioned circumstances, and you can tell this isn't quite the story they wanted to tell, but rather had to.
Anyway, I enjoyed the movie! It was pretty good. I'll give you my positives and negatives list.
Positives:
-I really liked Shuri's journey as the Black Panther! It did retread similar territory as T'Challa's Civil War storyline, but Shuri's path was a lot more wrathful and morally dubious. Her suit's cool, but sometimes the CGI made her look shockingly thin - as in, more than she naturally is, which was a bit distracting.
-Riri's suits are cool! I think the only part I would change is the helmet on the Mark 2 - just looks kinda generic android-y to me. Personality-wise she felt a bit all over the place - I think of her as a very headstrong, reckless, and kind of arrogant character, and there were shades of that but not enough - but she did make me laugh a couple times.
-Everything Talokan was super cool. I can't believe they gave them siren powers, I didn't know about that! I do feel like they kinda nerfed Wakanda just to make them more of a threat, when they didn't really need to. Namor was pretty fantastic, too - true to form, an extremely powerful and dangerous bastard you love and hate to see in action, and definitely a guy you want to try and keep on the good side of whenever possible.
-I didn't really care for the CIA storyline but Martin Freeman's character was nice to see again
-Killmonger in the Ancestral Plane was pretty much perfect. Love to see him call out the flaws in the royal family while remaining blind to his own - good stuff for Shuri to recognize, but not the mentor she needed. Michael B. Jordan continues to kill it - really most of the cast was great!
Negatives:
-Like I said, most of the CIA stuff wasn't very interesting. I get the feeling Valentina's supposed to be some quirky flavor of Amanda Waller and she's just not doing it for me. (kinda made me miss Victoria Hand and Rosalind Price...)
-Killing off Queen Ramonda felt like the wrong choice to me. Flooding the capital and destroying who knows how many livelihoods with the threat of taking his violence worldwide is more than enough motivation for a revenge trip, IMO, if not as personal. It's not like Shuri fully loses her moral center when she dies, either - M'Baku's there and she obviously chats with Ramonda herself in the Ancestral Plane - so it felt more cruel than necessary to me. Then again, you know me, I don't really like character death 99% of the time.
-While I did like the design overall, I feel like it was a big mistake to have Riri make her first proper suit in someone else's story. It's not like T'Challa or Peter in Civil War, who are already established heroes (in a sense) and whose origins can get neatly summed up - you really need to show how this previously unknown teenager can go from 0 to reverse-engineering the Iron Man suit. Feels like they robbed her of her moment a bit.
-Just like Black Panther 1, the CGI was sometimes distractingly noticeable (not as bad as that Panther v. Jaguar battle though, that was a pretty atrocious point in an otherwise great movie).

@holymost said ; ok listen I know they're fictional characters named/based on but every time I see an aztec god's name pop up on ur blog I'm like "??? WHY ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT AZTEC MYTHOLOGY?" and then I remember JHSDGFSJHDFHDS my hispanic ass got my ass once again I simply know nothing abt fate
/ AOAOAOOAOAOOAOO IORYTOIYUTOY IT- REALLY DO BE LIKE THAT! it’s so cool! and I can’t imagine how funny it must be to see one day greek mythology and then boom; Aztec and Maya mythology,,, and then Indian mythology and so on so forth; and to someone who isn’t too familiar with f.ate, i can imagine how funny it would be to look at someone u’ve read about in books and look at their anime version OITRUTIUORT LIKE;; what do u MEAN Achilles has bright GREEN hair?!?! it’s so silly sometimes, and it has its good and bad things, but i’ll always be grateful to f.ate for helping me discover more about history and mythology from all around the world which i love love love reading about!. But talking about my mesoamerican muses, I currently write five (5)!!
Moctezuma II: in game they gave him a different name (Izcalli) but that’s more of a f.ate lore thing and a specific kind of situation that doesn’t really have anything to do with Moctezuma’s story so in my portrayal he is directly Moctezuma II the ninth emperor of Aztec empire or more commonly known as the last Aztec emperor (even tho after his reign there were two other more emperors but their reigns were very short so usually its default like that). He was the one who had the first official contact with the europeans amongs more but i won’t get into details because then this will get super long but yes- There are a lot of misconceptions and myths around his figure and quite frankly, not as much information about him, or well; objective information about him; f.ate wise, I got too attached to him and he shakes something in my heart;; maybe something along the lines of being misunderstood, rage, impotence, his story in overall being kind of put to the side, the strong emotional side of humans, expectations, fears and how these affect us all, etc etc. I think his character was not explored much in detail in f.ate and was a little rushed, which in exchange brough a lot of bad opinions about him and as a result, increased my curiosity over him. There’s also this thing where in fiction its often discussed the ‘negative’ traits a character has but these tend to linger on the usual ‘not too disliked’ traits, so when a certain side of a character is explored that doesn’t really match what we are used to see, it tends to create some sort of rejection towards it. In this case, i think his rage was seen as something petty and only that, which i can understand since not everyone will enjoy all characters but,, that limits his character a lot u know? There is something that hits me when a character has a big dislike ratio (like with constantine) and it made me feel more curious about him and to try to understand him further than what we were shown, which in return has made me grown more attached to him. Its me and mocte against the world frfr 😤✊ /OK JKJKJKJK! For some reason he lives rent free inside my head and by god there should be more art of him so i’m always drawing him nowadays. I could ramble about his f.ate design endlessly and talk much more about him but i’ll cut it here before i go overboard.
Tezcatlipoca: one of the central deities in Aztec religion! he is the god of darkness and night, of conflict, war; characterized by his duality as a desctructive god and creator, the enemy and the merciful of duality itself; associated with hurricanes and obsidian, jaguars. He is an omnipotent, ( the definition being: '(of a deity) having unlimited power; able to do anything’) omnipresent, (that can be present everywhere and anywhere at the same time, making him something akin to an invisible being that you can’t see but that he is there regardless) and omniscient god (that knows everything; he can see the truth in human’s hearts). He can also see through the hearts of men! he is also the brother of Quetzalcoatl in some Aztec tellings and the two of them are central to the creation myth, and there is s o much more! very facsinating god. In fate he’s a silly guy, i think in terms of personality; his character was portrayed wonderfully; the duality of Tezca truly shows and its just -chef kiss-
Tláloc-Huitzilopochtli-Tenochtitlán: now this character is kind of confusing if you are not too familiar with f.ate, and even to me it’s still kind of ??? as her spirit origin’s story is mostly tied to f.go lore, but basically, in fate she is the personification of the city of Tenochtitlán but she presents herself as Tláloc or Huitzilopochtli, as she mentions that by enshrining these two gods, Tenochtitlan (the city, aka her) thrived, and I can kind of understand the general idea they might have tried to go with as it -is- true that these two deities were incredibly important; from the side of Tláloc, he was the god of rain and was turbo mega important and venerated in mesoamerica particularly with the agricultural towns, as he had a crucial role in favoring the prosperity of harvest. He was so important that there were a lof of festivities and ceremonies held in order to receive his favors (their economy on the side of agriculture demanded for a lot of rainy days as there were long dry seasons so Tláloc was highly praised) and we still have a lot of items related to him in museums! I wish i could emphasize more how important Tláloc was but I’m gonna cut myself here and introduce Huitzilopochtli real quick;; he is the solar deity in Aztec religion and he’s tied to war and sacrifice as well (like tezca as well) he was like the patron god of the capital city of Tenochtitlan so you get the idea of just how important he was as well
Kukulkán: in fate, kukulkán also has some kind of odd story tied in that takes place in the f.ate universe, but my kuku is mostly- well; kukulkán, or known as the plumed serpent who’s origins mostly trace back to the Maya most specifically around the classic period. To some researchers, Kukulkán is the same as Quetzalcoatl which is why in f.ate, Kukulkán and Quetz are more like sisters to say; kuku being technically the eldest between the two even though she looks up to Quetz a lot. Kuku was considered a creator god and was associated with the winds and rain as it was said they brough them in the first place. a lil curious note; when the weather gets moody, clouds tend to have this sort of serpent-like shape which is from where the association comes from. Funnily enough, in f.ate she claims to be quite an airhead which im not sure if its a reference to her ties with the wind or not but if that was the case, it would be indeed a funny lil detail.
Camazotz: the Maya bat god from Popol Vuh! a god that dwells in the underworld (Xibalba) and is at the service of the lords of the underworld. Xibalba is packed with tests and trials, and if attempting to enter the underworld in the first place wasn’t already difficult, it keeps getting even more tricky! there are five houses and Camazotz rules over the house of the bats, where there is constant squeaking and shrieking. In the Popol Vuh, the hero twins must be able to spend the night in the house of bats (whose snouts are like blades that they use to attack) in order to pass the test, and they almost do it flawlessly until Hunanpu, (one of the brothers), by attempting to take a peak from the blowgun they were hiding inside of, tries to see if dawn has come, which ends up with his head getting decapitated by a bat. To this, other events pass by and he’s able to come back to life and with his brother they defeat the lords of Xibalba at the end. Popol Vuh aside, the bat as an animal had a lot of associtations such as with death, decapitation (from observing bats flying and snatching fruit from trees), night (even day! as they linger in caves but can also be seen flying in daytime across the skies), sacrifice (linked to the previously mentioned decapitation + blood), the underworld (as caves were a gateway to the underworld), etc, etc. Not to mention how important they are for agriculture as they help pollinate crops as well as help in controling over abundance of insects like mosquitoes. In any case, Camazotz is really cool and i love his design in fate!

look, i'm latina (born and raised in latam, never lived anywhere else, i have the credentials lmao), and regarding you not handling spicy food well, that's totally valid and normal. honestly, i think that's mexican people's fault for giving us that rep that latines love spicy food when in reality, at least here in south america, most cultures don't really have super spicy food traditionally. like, super well seasoned? absolutely. a little spicy? sometimes. but very spicy is definitely a mexican thing that people assume to be true for all of us
(unless... you have mexican ancestry, than i don't know what to tell you babe)
also, we don't speak spanish in brasil and that doesn't make us any less latine, and that shouldn't make you any less either <3
i mean… if you think about it… most latine people speak spanish or portuguese, and both are the languages of colonizers. you know what else is the language of a colonizer? english. so, really, we’re all in the same boat on that one.
also, about the spice thing, YEAHH!! i’m glad you brought that up!!! because i had the absolute pleasure of getting to meet and stay with one of my tias for the first time two summers ago (my boricua side of the family is pretty detached from literally everyone else in the family) and she cooked for me and none of the food was like offensively spicy (not the mofongo, not the rice, not the pasteles, not the picadillo, not the empanadillas, none of it). puerto rican cuisine, like many other types of caribbean cuisine, has just as much african influence as it does spanish influence, and yet, even we’re not going too crazy with the spice. mexican cuisine is giving the rest of us a reputation we simply can’t (and won’t) live up to (love y’all tho <3 <3 love mango with tajin. love mexican chocolate. love tamales. <3 <3).
… in all fairness, spice is also good in really hot, dry climates because it makes you sweat and helps cool you down (oddly enough), so like… it could just be that the landlocked, more arid places in mexico (predominantly north mexico and some of central mexico, i think) have learned to eat lots of spice in the summer to help keep them cool since they don’t have coastal breezes (in the landlocked portions) and are fairly close to the equator. but like in more tropical and coastal places, we don’t typically need that because the temperatures are fairly mild, we get lots of rain (at least during the wet months), and we benefit from the luxury of frequently having a costal breeze.
but also i’m not mexican, i know next to nothing about mexican culture (i mean i hardly know anything about my own culture!!) so like… i have zero authority here… i could totally be just talking complete nonsense rn.
also eeek you’re from brasil??? that’s super fucking cool!!! i’ve always wanted to go to brasil specifically to study the jaguar populations because!!! first of all, there’s so many!!! also brasileiro jaguars are usually quite a big bigger than other jaguars (if i’m remembering correctly), which is just… ugh we love to see that!!! and since brasil’s government has put more protections in place for them in recent years, they’re numbers are (to my knowledge) coming up… also like they’re so elusive and cool!!!! the flora and fauna of brasil is so fucking incredible!! genuinely one of my favorite regions for that exact reason. like where else in this world am i going to see a big ass jaguar battle against a caiman???

ITS JELLY INFODUMP TIME WAHAHSHEHW
putting a read more bc its VERY LONG i wrote a ton of stuff abt them heheuehheu
alright so. for the basics jelly's a dj and (occasional) reporter for channel 42 since from what i know channel 42 mostly centers around entertainment, specifically music. and also bc of this!!! jelly has his own show called "jelly's nighttime jammin' show where they basically play music on their turn table and play music videos and concert recordings until the next morning. and for what she reports on, they usually do interviews with music artists and report on upcoming solos, albums, and concerts (i did take alot of inspo from the fact thaf ulala was supposed to have a show on mtv doing basically the same thing for jelly's show)!!! he also works with pudding alot but its usually on pudding's show to help out with the music on her show (jelly and pudding are also really good friends!! i also like to think jelly is cool with ulala too)!!
more info abt jelly outside of their job at ch 42,,, they're supposed to be an alien species thats like. humanoid sea slugs!!! jelly themself is supposed to be a humanoid leaf sheep sea slug (this is literally bc i love sea slugs alot especially leaf sheep sea slugs theyre my fav sea animal along with jellyfish)!!!! this isn't something he can do but sometimes i like to imagine jelly can turn into an actual leaf sheep sea slug i just think its silly,,,,,, but for her personality theyre super relaxed and friendly and they tend to get along with people well! bc of this they get along great with their coworkers (like pudding) and sometimes even reporters from competing channels (like ulala and mayyybeeeee the jaguars...,,,,,,, not because i dont think they would be friendly or be friends but bc ive rarely seen pudding and jaguar interact so idk o_O). jelly's also kind of an air head and has their head in the clouds alot so 9 times out of 10 they r NOT paying attention to where they are or what theyre doing (shes just like me...).
i cant think of more stuff abt jelly so this is it for now thank u all for listening

Thoughts on Certain Xenoblade 3 Heroes So Far
I don’t want to rank them until I’ve both unlocked all of them and completed everyone’s quests. So this is just a ranking based on the impressions they’ve given me, I think there are 5 heroes I haven’t gotten: Nia & Melia, Cammuravi, Machine Assasin Person (her sillhouette looks cool I’m excited to know wtf is going on there), the hacker class, and the seraph class, so I’m not gonna talk about these guys even though admittedly I’m very excited to obtain all of them.
Anyways these are my current impressions of everyone.
Ghondor
She’s too powerful for the censors. Someone stop her. I love her, she’s so funny. Like, her accent is so thick. She’s too powerful. I’m intimidated. I’m in love. Ghondor is epique. You fucking try meeting her to save the world and she just calls you a loser and wants to fight. Yas girl, slay (the party). The phrase Bitchqueen is glorious. I mostly love her because she swears a lot and that’s funny. Like, Eunie may say “bitch” and “arse” occasionally but ultimately says “queen’s knees” and shit, but Ghondor is above censorship. She is too powerful. If she didn’t dub Monica as the Bitchqueen, I’d be calling Ghondor that (affectionate). She just makes me happy lmao.
Gray
I think it’s hilarious that he acts like a teenage edgelord with a dark and mysterious past but then I go into his affinity chart and learn that he’s fucking 60. He pulled a Riki. He’s not allowed to do that. Also his dynamic with Eunie during his recruitment sidequest is hilarious. I like how Eunie just insults him the entire time and he’s just like “im batman bro” “who tf is batman you edgy bitch??” Also his class is super fun. Like, you simply explode everything with guns that shoot lasers. I have criminally not used him much, mostly because if I need a Full Metal Jaguar, I’ll employ Eunie or occasionally someone else. It’s mostly that I was grinding everyone to class level 10 on his class, so there wasn’t room for him in the party when I already had 3 Jaguars. But I love his class and I love his dynamic with Eunie. He’s a funny man.
Theory crafting time. I’m actually kinda curious if this class could be used as a dodge-tank, especially if you’re given post-game gear to work with and stick the class onto a naturally evasive character like Mio. Due to being mostly AoE and dealing so much fucking damage that aggro management is necessary here, the class wouldn’t really struggle with drawing aggro. When using tank classes, especially Zephyr, I often combine their primary aggro drawing ability with Quickdraw due to QD both providing evasion for the art and it’s bonus damage from the front being a very useful tool for drawing and maintaining aggro quickly due to the ridiculous amount of damage it deals from the front, which is where tanks are going to be positioned most of the time. So I imagine the inverse of using QD with an aggro drawing ability supplementing it would be quite good. Alongside that, I want to draw attention to Demolition. When using the FMJ class, I like to either pair Demolition with an evasion art or another piercing art. I assume the piercing stacks (otherwise rip). But Demolition is so good with an evasion art because the attack animation is so long. In the context of a DPS character, this is usually long enough for tanks to draw the aggro back while you’re hiding in evasion frames, in the context of a tank, I imagine this ability would be great for dodging one to two key abilities (depending on how art-spammy the boss is). Side note, as FMJ, combining Dead Set with an evasion art can also be nice because it guarantees safety while you fully remove aggro, this class is super squishy normally and needs to remain alive to get the most out of its dps. The other thing I think FMJ would be able to do as a tank that other tanks can’t is kiting enemies. Since the class is ranged, it probably would be able to auto attack certain enemies outside of their auto range and if it does this while maintaining aggro, that would help get around squishiness, especially since FMJ uses timed cooldowns.
Since this is a dps class rather than a tank class, a tanky FMJ build would pretty much allow everyone to run Protector’s Pride and the accessory with the same effect, maybe combine that with someone on the Troubadour class and that would create a recipe for art spam. Since the mechanic is meant as an “oh shit” mechanic rather than something you’d have constantly active, especially if you get the level 15 version, which I don’t know what the amount is at rank 15, but with the rank 10 version, it’s a 40% increase, combine that with my current best recharge speed, that’s another 40%, which I’m assuming would result is an 80% arts cooldown reduction that I could theoretically attach to everybody. In FMJ’s case, Demolition has a 26s cooldown at Rank 10 (dunno if cooldown will decrease at Rank 15), so that with an 80% cooldown would be a 5.2 second cooldown, which isn’t that much longer than the art’s cast time. Tho, I imagine there would be some difficulties with the evasion art it’s attached to being auto recharge, especially since 3 doesn’t have Pouch Items like what existed in 2. Quickdraw has an 11s cooldown at rank 10, so an 80% cooldown reduction would result in the art having a 2.2s cooldown. The art itself lasts approximately half a second, so just using QD, you’d probably be in evasion for at least a quarter of the fight just by spamming that ability alone. Third ability would kinda have to be Superstorm since I don’t believe Fatal Barrage has a long enough animation to justify losing out on its back attack damage and deadset wouldn’t be particularly useful to this build for obvious reasons. If you combine this with the Dance of Barrages ability, which at rank 10 gives an 11% chance to keep the recharge when using an art, that would also be valuable to maintaining uptime, even considering its low procc rate. I’d probably combine tank FMJ with a troubadour anyways due to that class being designed around cooldown reduction alongside its passive 15% boost to ally accuracy and evasion (at rank 10, I don’t know what the rank 15 boost looks like). Since that class can also spread Ring’o Roses, I imagine that could be part of the build too, potentially even as the art that superstorm is tied to. Also, keep in mind that all of this cooldown bullshit would apply to your allies too. Which could result in something like, say, a War Medic with healing constantly up, or an Ogre being able to spam their hard-hitting arts, DPS classes in particular would be able to combine this with a crit build and Frenzied Combo. Unfortunately FMJ doesn’t have the best base crit, but considering how many multi-hit arts the class has, crit FMJ with Frenzied Combo could be quite strong, whether it’s attack or tank.
The main thing holding this class back as a tank is how naturally squishy it is, but I feel like with the right build that can be worked around. I just think this would be dedicated to the post-game because running tank FMJ would require an art-spam build that requires combining skills from multiple classes at high ranks in order to properly function due to how squishy this class is. I just feel like it would work as a tank if you’re post-game and building your team around a hyper offensive playstyle. I’m unsure whether Violent Streak of Gemini Strike would be the better choice of Talent Arts in this build. Violent Streak lasts longer and deals more damage but Gemini Strike has a shorter cooldown and also draws aggro. The biggest weakness I can think of that I don’t think there’s any getting around is that the player would basically have to glue themselves to the FMJ character since I sincerely doubt in the AI’s ability to not instantly die the moment you try to mess around with a different character for 2 seconds.
I also just realized that FMJ has weirdly high base healing power. In fact, it appears to be the highest healing power given to a non-healer class. It’s not enough to be used as a direct healer, but I wonder if combining some of its arts with stuff like Hornet (a heals nearby allies on hit ability) could result in the FMJ be used as the party’s source of healing, which would leave room for more buff-oriented healer classes like Signifier and Troubador taking up the party’s healer slot.
Idk, I just really like the FMJ class. It feels good to play and I just have an instinctive feeling that it has the potential to be used in some fucking disgusting builds. As a dps class, it synergizes really well with Eunie due to her role in chain attacks including ether penetration. As a tank, I’d probably elect Mio or Eunie. Mio has good natural evasion and Eunie is just generally very good with this class and I don’t have faith in tank FMJ’s ability to take a hit anyways. Noah on a tank class is usually really nice because of the Monado Arts giving him invincibility, but he wouldn’t be getting access to that in this case because he doesn’t get invincibility when playing a dps class. Overall, I love this class, I haven’t really done much with the character tho, but he left a good first impression.
Valdi
Mixed opinions gameplay wise. On one hand, he’s an automatic addition to any team where I have to fight mech bosses. His chain attack special is ridiculous for racking up damage multipliers and having a heal bot is really nice since it opens up room for me to spec the rest of my party into damage, but most of the major and sidequest bosses, especially after getting Valdi, are against either human enemies or Moebius. So, I rarely get to actually use him, but he’s a welcome addition whenever I can get away with it.
Personality wise? Irrelevant. Gun healers are hilarious. I like how there are four heroes with guns (if you count Isurd and Riku), two of them are healers, one of them is a damage class that synergizes with healer abilities, and the other one is the most utility-focused attack class in the game. Also, there’s a specific energy to, like, Taion pointing a gun to N’s edgy bastard face and unloading, like, 50 bullets while making a I:| expression. This class is fucking glorious and I love it. I have no strong opinions about Valdi’s personality. I do like how he’s one of the two small children healers who Lanz inherits the class from.
Fiona
Can we just take a moment to talk about how funny her weapon is? She literally beats you to death cutely with a flag. And the flag has a laser on it. I haven’t figured out how to properly use her class yet since I got her right next to several other heroes, haven’t gotten the characters I want with high ranks on this class, and I don’t really understand the value of giving everyone random buffs without having much in the way of direct heals. I do like sticking her spread buff ability on Yumsmith since I can spread crit and power-within fields both to give the other attackers higher DPS that’s less positionally dependent and to give the tanks better tankiness since most of the fields end up looking like 10 circles overlapping each other while (probably) Mio stands in the middle.
I play this game using the English dub. I like her accent, but I didn’t really care for how her VA delivered some of her lines. I also just didn’t have a strong opinion on her first quest and haven’t yet done any of the following sidequests. I imagine there’s a lot of potential for them to be good because there’s just a strong premise here, I just haven’t really gotten into the meat of her yet. Which kinda also describes my gameplay experience with her.
As a side note, I also think her character design is cute, but it doesn’t translate great into 3D and it doesn’t really match Agnus’s aesthetic or any other pre-established Aesthetics in the game. Her design is actually a pretty good example of many of the primary issues with Saito’s character designs even when barring how the horniness ruined so many designs in 2. This is still a massive improvement over what happened in 2, I just felt like it was worth pointing out in specifically this character design.
I’ve been wonder which heroes have the best and worst chain attack since it seems that they’re balanced by sacrificing player control, customizability, and being able to mix and match classes in favor of having ridiculously powerful chain attack effects. Like with most of this character, I haven’t really figured out how she’s best used in chain attacks, but she seems potentially really good due to her ability to artificially elongate regular chain attacks.
Ashera
I love characters who have problems with the concept of self-preservation. Ashera is so funny. Like, she decides “I’m going to storm my own base as an ego trip.” Since whether she succeeds or fails, it is an ego trip. Also I think her reason to want to be free from the flame clock is fucking hilarious. She’s not doing it to be free from fighting, she just wants to become enemies of Moebius so she can fight them. I also really liked Eunie in this sidequest. I really liked seeing Eunie get genuinely pissed off at Ashera’s antics and then they have some sort of understanding at the end of it. I honestly wasn’t expecting Eunie to have such good character work here of all places. It was a pleasant surprise. I haven’t really done any of her follow-up quests, but I should. It’s just that there’s so much to do in the game and there was a lot of plot stuff to do immediately after recruiting her, that I kinda forgot to go back to the town and now I’m overlevelled. I kinda want to do most of the overlevelled crap once I’m in the post-game since I do actually care about the sidequests, it’s just that doing side content for these games is difficult for me, mostly because my desire to progress the story or fuck around exploring the world is way stronger than my desire to slowly build up relationships with the NPCs and see everything come together. Something something instant gratification. Ashera slaps my ass and balls (even tho I don’t have balls to slap, sad day for her).
She was my go-to hero, especially during the mid-game because of her ability to instantly fill the chain attack meter to 200%, damage multiplication, and access to launch, which resulted in my mid-game chain attacks consistently taking out approximately half of a boss’s health bar whenever I used her. This is really helpful since I’ve been playing the game on hard mode and she effectively let me skip the second phases of several difficult boss fights. I mostly pulled her out for boss fights and used someone else when running around the world since I pretty much got everyone except Eunie and Taion to level 10 on this class because a universal launch art is just really useful, and her spread ability of damage reduction at low health is an amazing defensive ability, especially to slap onto squishy classes and other tank classes with bonus effects at low HP. Though it does sometimes suffer from opportunity cost, which wasn’t as big of an issue in the mid-game.
But she’s fallen off late game. I feel like her class is likely going to be very strong post-game because the long attack animations pair with evasion arts, resulting in you getting a lot of dodge-frames, especially since post-game you’ll be able to pair these abilities with evasion arts taken from DPS classes, so I wouldn’t be surprised if running a Lone Exile Crit Build would be viable, especially since this is a DPS tank class. Especially if the player eventually gets access to life-steal either from one of the classes I haven’t unlocked or from an accessory I haven’t gotten a hold of. The class feels like it was designed to be a somewhat squishy drain-tank with an emphasis on evasion, but the class doesn’t naturally come with life-steal effects or evasion arts, so it needs supplements from other classes in order to function, otherwise you’re left with a squishy tank that doesn’t really accomplish dps.
At the moment, I’m near the end-game. Got stuck on a boss and, after 8 hours of bashing my face against him, I’ve decided I want to do some sidequests rather than using my bonus EXP storage to do some side content that I’ve been procrastinating on. Mostly just to replenish my Nopon Coins and level some people up in some classes. The problem with Ashera right now is that I need to be able to have control over my tank characters to get through the late-game bosses otherwise they might not dodge key abilities and won’t draw aggro properly. Alongside that, her ability to start a chain attack with 200% has fallen off in power due to competition from other heroes, such as Ghondor instantly recharging herself, Alexandria’s crit modifier, and Fiona’s ability to recharge the chain attack gauge. Alongside that, enemies have much high break resistances now, so I can no longer consistently topple enemies during the first round of chain attack, which results in Ashera’s actual turn being inconsistent with its ability to combo. She’s now better with Ouroboros chain attacks due to them being shorter while a ton of late-game heroes are better than her in standard chain attacks due to their more consistent application during the attack. Her class also isn’t being very helpful due to just not being able to tank enough hits and me not having access to the stuff I said would make the class hypothetically one of the strongest classes in the game.
This class is pretty nice for grinding tho. Since I’m fighting low-threat enemies and just wanna be quick about it, an offensive tank is convenient for that.
I really like this character. I also really like the class conceptually, I’m just a bit disappointed that it’s fallen off end-game, especially since I have quite literally every character except for Eunie and Taion at rank 10 on her class (and Eunie is rank 6, Taion is literally the only character I haven’t used the class on, and I probably should get him there since I’ve been using him on utility-dps classes recently).
Riku and Manana
I love them. Riku has a gun. Manana has a laser cooking pot. Riku is my god. I’ve always wanted a Nopon party member with a gun, and Riku has fulfilled my wishes. I think the characters are a bit shallow for main characters, especially when placed next to the party members, but as side characters, I love them, and by them, I mean Riku (Manana’s okay, but Riku’s gloriousness elevates them). Riku just has military clothes and what I assumed was an afro. Execuse me sir, he is an egg. Why is his voice sexy? I’m so intimidated. He’s the one character to have experienced puberty. And his eyes are so soulful and hot, but again they’re attached to a fucking egg. I feel sexually threatened by a man who does not know what sex is. Also his gun, as far as I can tell, is a melee weapon?? Beautiful. I love him. I stan him. I fear him. Also the Hero Quest where Manana just spins and destroys those arachno is hilarious. Manana went brr. She is amazing and deserves good things for that moment and that moment alone.
As far as their class is concerned, it’s really interesting. It’s the only class in the game where I’ve gotten literally every party member to rank 10 on. Sappy-Sappy drain is a really useful ability, having a universal break art is really good, especially with Incursor’s universal break art of the opposite type. I think the class has really come into its own late game where the high break resistances on bosses means I pretty much need a dedicated break person. Since this is a dps/healer hybrid, I’ve been leaning into the class’s supportive capability and attaching my one memory locket to whoever I give this class to. I’m thinking Taion might be the best suited for this class because it lets him make use of his chain attack ability while still being able to make use of stuff from classes that I’ve already levelled him in. I kinda wish there was an easy way to check what everyone’s unmodified stats are so I could quickly tell what each person’s natural stats are best suited towards, since that would help me best decide who to stick this class on.
My guess is that this class will fall off post game once I have access to resources that let me build classes more wildly, especially since this class’s strongest abilities are shared abilities and its playstyle of stacking debuffs will most likely get harder the more enemies gain resistances and immunities to their debuffs. That said, the class probably would then be moved to a buff-oriented attacker, since Crit+ and the power within fields art isn’t shared, which means this class’s use post-game probably would turn more aggressive. Especially once I can swap out the Talent Art. Atm, I use the class more defensively than anything.
I really like the Nopon. I haven’t used them in my party much because I pretty much always had at least one person as Yumsmith when off bosses and I haven’t really been equipping them for bosses due to not remembering what their chain attack effects were.
Isurd
He just really failed to leave an impression on me. His voice acting kinda sucks. I like using his class on Eunie since he’s a more damage-oriented healer, which synergizes nicely with her combination of good ether damage and high heal power. I found the character to be kinda boring tho.
His story boss wasn’t very good. It looked like the devs might have been trying to riff on the Zu Pharg fight in Xenoblade X, but the fight against Isurde sort of failed because it had the stuff drawing away from the Zu Pharg’s spectacle without really any of the things that made the boss work. Like, it was a giant quadruped machine that summoned minions and you can climb around its wreckage after the fight. It shares the issue with the Zu Pharg where the camera is just not able to zoom out enough to really get a full view of it. But what made the Zu Pharg such a good spectacle fight where this one failed has to do with X’s scope as a whole, which was much bigger than 3′s. Basically the Zu Pharg fight had you chasing a mech that was quite literally the size of a mountain across an entire continent that you’ve explored up to this point while (most likely) flying in mechs. The fight had a series of fighting the boss, fighting its minions, and running past the minions to get back to the boss. This gave the player a good view of something other than the boss’s legs in the air, and on the ground it gave a good sense of the boss’s sheer scale because while you could not see the entire boss, you could get a leg into frame, which was fucking massive. The Zu Pharg was also by far the largest enemy in the game, which already had some gigantic enemies. This was also emphasized by the mech transforming from a gigantic flying fortress in Phase 1 into a literal fucking mech in phase 2. And yeah, the mech was the size of a fucking fortress more or less. So, the fight was memorable because it overwhelmed you with its sheer scale in a game that already had an emphasis on it. The fight against Isurde doesn’t really accomplish any of this. For one, the mech isn’t towering over the landscape like the Zu Pharg was, and two, you really can’t fly around and chase it like the Zu Pharg did, which was due to differences in 3′s and X’s mechanics. As a result, the mech’s size in 3 worked more against it than anything in terms of spectacle. The enemy summoning didn’t really do it any favors either. In the Zu Pharg, the summons were very good at selling its scale since you’re pairing enemies that are roughly the size of the player’s mechs with the mech itself, while in 3, the mechs the boss summons are larger than the player and Ouroboros isn’t as permanent of a mechanic as Skells were in X. There also isn’t the surprise of leaning that this massive space you’ve been exploring for hours is actually a gigantic boss arena. The differences in music for each boss was also a big deal. The Zu Pharg had a unique theme that was very stompy and crunchy while Isurd used the general boss theme (if I remember correctly). Idk, the Isurd fight just isn’t very good spectacle wise, especially compared to the boss it was clearly based on. And the surrounding story wasn’t very good since Joran is a pretty shit antagonist so “it was Joran making mud-puppets” didn’t really help.
Overall, the character is just very nothing to me. I like his class. I think his boss fight was bad. It wasn’t frustrating, but it just fails to capture what made the fight it was clearly based on so good spectacle wise. That’s probably why I never use him in the party. The other reason is that I don’t like his chain art. First of all, some characters in the party can get early Bravos, so him getting that turn one isn’t special, especially since he’s not combining this with him not being a damage character, so he kinda just hogs the momentum from them for no reason. He might be decent mid-game, but I found his chain attack ability to be outclassed by Ashera’s at that point in the game.
Zeon
I kinda assumed he was meant to be that one bully character from the intro cutscene, so I thought it was weird that the kid grew up to be this noble-natured man with no explanation from how he got from points a to b, but it turns out he wasn’t that kid, so I’m mostly wondering what the point of this guy is since the one interesting part of his character to me was a misconception. As far as his class is concerned, I also haven’t really figured out how it’s supposed to work. I have characters with rank 10 on him just for the topple art, I regularly use his taunt on tanks, and I’ll probably go for rank 20 on some characters in his class just because his talent art is useful, but I really just am not feeling him or his class.
Miyabi
I swear there’s an NPC in the City with her name. But I was kinda disappointed with her recruitment quest conceptually since it kinda just revived three dead characters with no real strings attached. Her ability to buff Mio up during chain attacks is interesting but odd. Which I’d probably describe her class as. I still don’t confidently understand how to use if effectively. I currently have it on Lanz because w i d e. Her class being centered primarily around regeneration and cooldown reduction seems like it’s designed specifically to buff dodge tanks and ability spamming damage dealers, so I imagine that quality makes her at her most useful during post-game where both the need for her stuff and the access to accessories and high impact arts will be at its highest.
Alexandria
I like her class. I also like her chain attack effects. I don’t really have an opinion on her personality one way or the other. She’s gives me similar energy as Lin from X, but with a more cunning attitude. I like that she’s a trickster who manipulates the economy, which I would like to point out, canonically does not exist. She’s conceptually a very funny woman. Extreme stonks. Her voice acting is kinda dry. Her class seems like a class that only gets stronger the later into the game you get because of her power mostly lying in her arts, crit rate, and counter attacks while needing to be kept alive in order to remain effective. She’s solid but I feel like I have very little to say about her beyond that.
Teach
His voice acting sucks. He sounds like a robot. I thought his sidequest was okay, but his role in Mio’s past confuses me. He’s one of the characters presented as a wisdom gained by age mentor, but Mio is older than him. If she wasn’t, he would be dead. He wouldn’t be the only mentor figure Mio has who’s younger than her, but the idea he’s supposed to represent really doesn’t mesh with the setting. Again, he’s, at most, 9 years old. He can’t be a wisdom through age character while also being 9. It kinda just breaks any other thoughts I have about the character. He is a child. They are all children. I am, like, three older than the average person in this universe because as far as I can tell, the average human being is, like, seven.
As far as his class is concerned, it’s really useful in the mid-game, but it hasn’t been very helpful lately. It’s a physical damage healer hybrid. I just don’t think it heals enough. The strongest art in the class is probably the bind, but every enemy dangerous enough for me to bother either has a really high resistance to the status effect or is immune, either way, it never proccs. Both the damage and healing are underwhelming too due to most of the class’s attacks being single-strike. The debuff removal and divine protection aren’t bad, but I don’t really want my burst art to be on the Talent Art of a healer if I can avoid it. Talent Arts generally take forever to build up and I’d rather have burst/smash on a damage character than a tank or healer since it’s a high damage effect. His burst talent art does have the usage of being the first burst ability the player is likely to get access to, and you can access Teach before you get access to a consistent launch, especially since his talent art and the Sword Class talent art both deal extra damage against stunned enemies. He’s also a good healer to put characters who you’ve levelled into the Ogre Class into because it will result in this class doing a ton of damage, especially since attack classes that use crit aren’t going to at best be looking at around a 30% crit rate. So, his class is a very good damage dealing class that has healing on the side in the mid game, but late-game, most physical damage dealing classes can be built with consistent crits, so his damage gets grossly outclassed, which is the main thing making up for his okay utility. I still use the class in late-game for its debuff resistance and Divine Protect being useful, but it’s not nearly as powerful as it was in the mid-game and I don’t really see it jumping back up in the post-game.
Juniper
I didn’t realize that the nonbinary character I’ve heard people talking about was Juniper, making them, like, the fifth or something nonbinary character I mistook for being a girl. I don’t really have a strong opinion on their character. They’re character arc kinda rings familiar to my personal life, and I mean the part about them just wanting to let the flame clock run and hesitating to accept the solution the protagonists offer. But then they realize that letting things just get progressively worse is not a good solution to their problems so they decide to be more proactive about it. Usually being like “oh I relate to this” is a benefit to people, but for me, I, like, just dealt with shit like this, so the character going through that arc registered as old hat even though it probably isn’t. Kinda unfortunate circumstances there.
Regarding their class, it took a bit for me to warm up to it, but I think by the time I grew to actually like the class, I was at the point where high bleed and break resistances or immunities started getting so common that the class’s value started dropping off. I don’t see this class being good post-game either due to its focus being on using high power auto attacks boosted by bleed bonus damage as its main source of damage. While post-game, maximizing art use and chain attacks seems more effective. This class is still decent in chain attacks if you can launch an enemy during the attack, but that’s getting progressively less reliable to do, which results in this class becoming less effective. I actually found Lanz to be one of the better users of this class because his high attack stat works well with this class’s playstyle of chilling and auto attacking. If nothing else, it’s not a bad class to just leave the AI on while you micromanage everyone else, which is also a mid-game benefit. Personally, I think this class would be at its strongest at the beginning of the game but the player just gets access to it too late. Like, if Juniper was unlocked around the same time you unlock Ethel, I think their class would have a good chance to shine before falling off.
Monica
Monica has my favorite damage sponge tank class in the game. I love tanks who make their allies tankier by existing and Monica’s class does this best.
