I think the Mario movie would definitely benefit from having a tie-in show due to the potential for worldbuilding, which would be a first for Illumination because I don't think they've ever made a series based on any of their movies
Tumblr media
(I'm gonna lump these two together since they both have the same kind of question.) An Illumination Mario movie cartoon sounds great on paper. But it depends on how it's executed.
Buckle up, this is gonna be a looong post:
A Mario movie cartoon would give us the time needed to flesh out the characters and worlds a lot more than the movie did. We could have time for more bonding moments between Mario and Luigi, we could get to see more of the Mario family, Bowser's minions could do some comedic moments and we could learn more about Bowser and the other Mario villains, we can explore the Mushroom Kingdom and other kingdoms and worlds from the games, and so on and so forth.
But it depends on what kind of story Illumination would do. Would it be more like Wander over Yonder- a comedic episodic adventure that slowly builds up to an overarching story in later seasons? Would it be like Infinity Train- an mystery/ adventure that slowly reveals more about its world with each episode and takes the time to flesh out and explore characters mindset, personalities, and motivations? Or would it be like CocoMellon- a lazy, mindless, cash grab timewaster that parents can put on to keep their kids quiet. It really would depend on who Illumination would hire to direct and write the show. Someone with a passion for Mario and wants to tell a good story, or someone who only cares about profit and turning the show into nothing but a boring easter egg factory for fans.
Another deciding factor would be if Illumination would do this in 2D or 3D. Now I believe that 2D would work best for Mario. Illumination can do 2D animation well as seen in the Minions 2 movie end credits and even in the Mario movie concept art.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With a proper budget and the right creative team, a Mario movie cartoon is possible! But maybe Nintendo would be hesitant to do one because of how the 90's Super Show cartoons were. For as nostalgic as they are, no one can deny that all three of those cartoons had a laundry list of problems, as well as a budget of seven dollars and a chicken sandwich.
But I'm imagining Illumination hiring the Flying Bark Studios creative team. You know, the guys who made Rottmnt and Lego Monkie Kid!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imagine a Mario movie cartoon done in that gorgeous art style and with the same fluid and well choreographed fight scenes as those shows. I'm already drooling at the thought, it would be so amazing!!
But knowing Illumination, they would probably do it in 3D. Now, 3D can look good in kids cartoons. 2012 TMNT, My Dad the Bounty Hunter, and Maya and the Three are proof that it can be done well and even with a cinematic quality with Maya's case. But 95% of 3D kids cartoons aren't given a proper budget and are mostly shameless cash grabs mostly made by greedy corporations trying to wring as much money from parents as they can like with Megamind Rules, Coco Mellon, SpongeBob Camp Coral, etc.
So like I said, it depends on Illuminations motivations (which would probably mostly be just money), if it's done in 2D or 3D, and the passion and love that whoever directs and writes the cartoon has for Mario and the franchise.

Let's Talk About: Disney's Wish
Tumblr media
(DISCLAIMER: It is my understanding that BDS has asked for a more targeted boycott when it comes to companies that are involved with the conflict in Gaza, and for Disney to be subject to public pressure instead. It is entirely up to individual discretion whether they want to include Disney in their personal boycott or not.)
So now that I've had a few days to let this movie kind of settle in my brain, I've been moved to write up my own comprehensive (albeit spoiler-free) review because I'm already tired of seeing Bad Faith Takes, and I have MANY THOUGHTS.
Things you should know about me prior to me launching into this review -- I am a Disney girl, I have been a Disney kid my whole life, and I've gotten really good at separating my love for Disney movies and Disney magic from my criticism of the Disney company. I've been REALLY excited for this movie pretty much since I saw the first official image of Asha and instantly fell in love with her design, and the hype only grew with the release of trailers and other promotional material. I also avoided listening to any of the songs prior to seeing the movie in theatres.
With all that being said, let's dive in.
Okay, so, first impressions -- I LOVE this movie. I am absolutely the target audience for Disney magic and nostalgia for Disney movies, and I love the idea of this movie being a kind of love letter to the now 100 year long legacy of Disney movies. A lot of the little nods, references, and Easter eggs in this movie worked for me. All in all, seeing this movie in a theatre absolutely felt like a warm hug, and I can already see it becoming a sort of comfort movie for me personally.
I can tell that a lot of love went into the creation of this movie -- if the animation style or the music isn't your thing, that's completely understandable, but it rubs me the wrong way to see people acting as if they're objectively bad, when that's definitely NOT the case. In fact, they're quite GOOD; I would go so far as to say that the music and animation of this film are its two greatest strengths.
I've seen some criticism of the fact that the songwriters who worked on this movie are pop songwriters and not musical songwriters -- but I personally feel that this unique stylistic choice really WORKED for this movie, and made it stand out from other Disney movies. This movie has some of my personal favorite songs that Disney has ever produced.
As for the animation, the blending of 2D and 3D animation is en vogue at the moment, and I love seeing how different movies use the style in different ways (i.e. the comic book style of the Spider-Verse films, the cartoony style of The Bad Guys, the moving painting effect of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and the grimy, graffiti style of TMNT: Mutant Mayhem). For Wish, this movie is literally a LIVING STORYBOOK, and the animation is absolutely indicative of that. This is a GORGEOUS movie.
(It's also hardly the first time that pop songwriters have written for Disney movies, or even for musicals in general, but that's a whole other kettle of fish.)
With all that being said, I definitely have my criticisms of this movie -- all of which go back to issues with the STUDIO that effected the finished product. Wish has a rich, lush world with hints of deeper lore, but I feel that this movie really suffered from being "the Disney 100 legacy movie." Like I said, I love Disney nostalgia, but this movie takes it to a level where it can be distracting, and I ultimately feel that it wasn't given enough room to really be its own, individual thing. This is, at the end of the day, meant to be an original fairy tale -- and there are absolutely loose threads and hints at storylines and character arcs that were just….left incomplete.
I really think that the writer's strike ended up effecting the final product of this movie negatively, and resulted in an unfortunate waste of potential. In an ironic way, I kind of wish they HAD delayed the release date so that they could work on it more, but again, it was the "Disney 100th anniversary movie" so the release date was a part of that as well.
This movie feels like it should be so much BIGGER than it is, and that the story should have paid off in ways that it just DIDN'T -- because of a lot of aspects of the film being shoved into the prototypical, and frankly lazy Disney boxes.
I feel so strongly that Wish really was on the verge of being something revolutionary, and through unfortunate circumstances and poor choices made on the part of the studio, it wasn't able to fulfill that full potential, and that's such a shame. I personally am really hoping for sequels -- or at least, fanfiction tends to fix everything.
Comparing this movie to other Disney movies, such as Moana, Raya and the Last Dragon, and Encanto, all of those movies tell a fully fleshed out, cohesive story, with character arcs that feel natural, and really strong themes that challenge our expectations. The sad fact is that Wish doesn't have this -- it TRIES, and there's very much elements of that present, but it's only HALF of a story, really. It feels unfinished, or like it wasn't allowed to push the envelope in the ways that the creators likely wanted to (at least that's my impression).
At the end of the day, it is REALLY impressive that Wish is as good of a movie as it is, with all of this in mind. Every other aspect of the film is VERY strong, and there are some important, powerful messages that shine through (strong messages about the power of self esteem and self love, and the power of community coming together). But the story is ultimately what unfortunately suffered here, due to what is more than likely yet another case of there being too many cooks in the Disney kitchen.
So, yes -- I LOVE this movie, but more than that, I am in love with everything that this movie COULD and SHOULD have been.
That being said, I will continue to aggressively love this movie. Out of spite :P
(I will also likely go into more spoiler-y, specific depth on this movie once it's out internationally after the holidays, and once more people have had a chance to see it -- idk if you guys can tell just from reading this but I am suffering alone in hyperfixation HELL right now :P)

My favourite Disney movie ౨ৎ
A review written by Cel
Tumblr media
I finally decided to write my love and thoughts about this movie after never finding enough words for it. Tangled is the first 3D animated Disney movie with a disney princess and was their animated studios' 50th movie. It is loosely based on the german fairytale "Rapunzel" by the brothers Grimm from the early 1800s. Some of Disney's previous disney princess movies had also been based on the brothers Grimm fairytales. As we can see in the animated movie we're introduced to this kingdom called Corona, this place is based on the german culture and architecture along with some characters' names. The music is written and composed by the infamous Alan Menken, whom I've admired his work for as long as I can remember, he has composed for Disney multiple times such as the soundtrack for The Little Mermaid. I officially became a fan of him earlier last year when I started watching Tangled's sequel series "Rapunzel's tangled adventure" where he had also composed the music, I definitely recommend watching it if you really enjoyed the movie. One would assume it is some type of spin-off but surprisingly it connects with all the details from the original movie.
Tumblr media
To start off with my love for this: I was never a big fan of this movie as a little kid as I am right now. Of course I knew all the words to the songs and the storyline, but I was more of a Cinderella and Frozen kid. Even so, this movie was still on repeat on my family's TV most of my childhood and I safely assume the DVD got ruined because of how much it played.
Tangled is my favourite Disney movie and have been for a very long time. I don't remember when it really got to me, but it was always a comfort movie I could watch all the time if I felt bored or didn't have any movie choices in mind. After watching it atleast once a month (unaware of the amount of rewatches), I felt emotionally attached to it and I knew I could relate to Rapunzel. She is a witty, creative, and curious 18 yr old girl who had been trapped in a tower for most of her life without knowing the true meaning about it. My favourite relatable thing about her is the amount of hobbies she mentions in "When will my life begin?". Disney did really well showing domestic abuse and passive aggression from mother Gothel, us as the viewers already know that she's the bad guy in the story but Rapunzel doesn't which makes her relationship with her feel so natural. Her realisation is one of my favourite scenes because of the recollection of her early memories. I feel the intention of this was to help young children who watches it would maybe realise if they are actually being treated badly and neglected. Of course a young kid wouldn't pick up the bits and pieces that fast but it is easy for someone to think their treatment and relationship with their parents are natural which is the same case with Rapunzel.
Tumblr media
Now with Rapunzel's romance that I am very fond of. If you really think about the time Rapunzel and Eugene spent together and the ending of the movie, it is quite weird how they just got married already. They met a day before her 18th birthday, he was on the run and she wanted to see the "floating lights". The fact that Eugene was canonically 26 years old in the movie which can seem pretty weird, but in the series they reveal he was 23 as he turns 26 at the end of the last season. I love how they didn't make them flirty at the start of their friendship which obviously would be natural for two strangers and especially for a girl who's never talked to another human being other than her mother. Flynn Rider, the name Eugene went by, was not happy with this trip he had to do if he wanted his satchel back. It's just wholesome to watch them progress throughout the movie and the way their feelings begins to develop. I like to think Rapunzel admired him from the start, as Eugene fell for her later on. If their relationship had a trope I would definitely say the "she fell first, but he fell harder" trope. In the sequel series, they start the story some months (i think) after Rapunzel returned to her real parents. But she and Eugene hasn't been married yet, she actually said no first because she felt insecure and was still trying to be used to her new life. Their relationship took years with complicated feelings and miscommunication which is one of the best parts of the series. Me personally would've said "yes" right away to Eugene. He is probably the most handsome and dare I say best Disney man. I mean they did put a group of women at the studio to work out his best design..
This is definitely the best animated movie among Disney for me, every scene is just satisfying to watch and it's like letting your brain rest for over an hour. They captured such beautiful moments in animation and perfected it so well with dialogue and music. One of my biggest dreams would be to watch this on a big screen with a live orchestra, and possibly Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi sing too.
Tumblr media
I also want to address the live action of Tangled because of the current rumours about the castings. As far as I know, Disney hasn't fully confirmed that the live action is in the works and everything so far is just rumours or assumptions. Only a few days ago 1-2 articles had been found informing that Disney has reportedly casted Avantika Vandanapu and Milo Manheim as Rapunzel and Eugene. This caught a huge amount of attention and controversy on social media, and my biggest problem with this is how people actually believe it. I really thought we were past believing absolute everything we see on the internet, especially from websites we've never gotten information from. Because why would a website almost no one reads suddenly have Disney's thoughts of their cast? Worst is the people believing this and being racist about it. Avantika had never been a choice in my fancast for Rapunzel as she doesn't fit her description, but that does NOT mean she shouldn't be allowed to play her as there are plenty versions of white Rapunzels from before. The people using this casting to compare it with saying "Tiana/Moana should be played by a *white woman*" are who annoy me the most in this situation. I've had multiple arguments with different people the past couple of days because of stating how comparing those two are not fair and the inaccurate casting isn't the same difference. First of all: Tiana's appearance and storyline are based on her skin colour and culture as she's an afro-american woman from the 1920s in New Orleans. In parts of her movie her "background" even gets represented as a problem for her to achieve her dream, this movie is obviously made to represent our beautiful black people in the world. Shocked they didn't get a representation until 2009. Second: Moana is based FULLY on polynesian culture and through polynesian mythology, even her voice actor was encouraged to be a part of that. Auli'i Cravalho, her voice actor, is native Hawaiian and encourages their culture along with the music Lin Manuel Miranda wrote. At last: Comparing this rumoured Rapunzel casting to Tiana or Moana is wrong as her story isn't meant for representation of oppression and not based on her skin colour. Yes, it is loosely based on the brothers Grimm's fairytale which is German and the movie does show German details in the story but things will always change and they already are. Why not let today's children grow up with beautiful characters that can let them feel as included as every white person can with the previous characters? I can say this has never been a problem to me growing up even though none of the disney princesses looked like me, it still makes children aware of it at some point and when I realised I didn't have a disney princess that looked or was based remotely on people like ME, I began hoping Disney would make a south-east Asian princess. That's why I agree that Disney should start making new disney princess movies representing more people instead of not having an accurate casting for the character but honestly, Rapunzel's SKIN colour is not that relevant to her story at all. Anyway, my fancast for Tangled has always been Meg Donnelly and Milo Manheim after watching the Zombies movies. They have great chemistry and both of them sing perfectly! I'm excited to see how this live action movie will turn out, after Halle Bailey's "The Little Mermaid" I hope it will be as amazing.
Tumblr media
My love for Tangled is endless but to finish my review I want to thank you for reading all the way down here. If I was only allowed to watch one movie the rest of my life I might have chosen this or a 2-3 hour long just to be entertained longer. The amount of times I've watched this has made me able to recite most of the scenes and the whole film is engraved to my mind. I think if I had enough time and peace I could literally sit still and watch the movie scene by scene in my mind. Again, thank you for reading!

Looking at Tangled concept art makes me realized how heavily this film would've benefited from being 2D animated: for starters it would've aged well appearance wise + Rapunzel's hair would've flowed way better (like the other day I briefly saw the beginning of Treasure Planet and the hair movement on Jim's mom was so pretty + made me cry thinking about how Disney deliberately sabotaged this artform). Going 3D was a BIG mistake for Disney
I agree the concept art is beautiful and amazing. I even liked to look at the art book sometimes just so I can appreciate the artwork (it’s on internet archive). It shows that tangled would have looked so much better in 2d. Rapunzel would have actually looked good, her hair would have been more natural to look at and the landscapes would have been better. It would have been more memorable than what we saw in the final movie.
It could have been as beautiful as treasure planet or patf if tangled was done in 2d. It would have aged better than the final product too but no, this movie needed to be cgi because 2d is outdated or whatever that idiot director of Disney and Pixar at the time said. From what I heard, making the movie cgi had a lot of problems in production. They had a lot of trouble animating rapunzel’s hair to be realistic and they were even still working on it the same year it was released. Some of the characters didn’t translate well from 2d to cgi like rapunzel and they were so focused on making the cgi look realistic as possible. At the time of it’s release, the movie animation looked ok but it was lacking something compared to other animated movies released in 2010 like httyd. But now, the movie didn’t age well at all and looks awful. It’s so embarrassing because it’s the most expensive animated movie to be made. Even rapunzel’s hair looks fake and stiff. It’s looks even worse when it glows. They spent so much time on that hair only for it to look awful in the end. If they had done it in 2D, it would aged better and they wouldn’t have to spend so much time and money on the hair. We saw this was the case with the sequel series. rapunzel’s hair looks way better there than in the movie. It also looks more memorable and doesn’t look as weird as it did in cgi. Disney really should have done tangled in 2D. They should also kept the glen version with bastion and kept rapunzel as the title.
Yeah, it sucks that Disney did that. It seems like Disney just likes sabotaging their films so they can focus their energy on something else. They did it with 2D so they can focus on make cgi movies and now they are doing it with original movies so they can focus on making content for their existing ips. I have hope that we will get a 2D movie soon. We seen that studios are experimenting with art styles, so I have faith that some will return that art style to the west and studios will follow suit.

I’m not referring to rhe “he don’t cate about the timeline article” I mean the “No Comment” article when he was asked about an OoT remake. It’s on gameinformer and twitter, and I think i might be skeptical bit time
Ah! I have a several thoughts on this!
(Disclaimer: I do not work for Nintendo and this is all speculation.)
Given Aonuma’s high profile in games, “no comment” is really all he could say in that situation. If they were considering an OoT remake, HD re-release, anime series, etc. in the indeterminate future, he couldn’t hint to it in an ad hoc interview question and certainly wouldn’t announce anything outside of a larger, Nintendo-driven marketing reveal. Given the interest in the topic, anything other than a hard “no” could easily be interpreted by the fandom and game media as a “maybe yes” (hence all the speculation around the “no comment” response itself). If they are not planning on making anything OoT related at this time (or even if it’s not on any future long term release roadmap), they also wouldn’t want to commit to a hard “no” there, either.
My guess is that if they were to “remake” OoT, it’d be like all of the other Mario and Zelda HD remakes: “upres it” to significantly higher detail and frame rate, modify the controls to make sense on Switch, and don’t change the content at all (other than adding additional graphical details—like what can be found in the delta between the original N64 OoT release the later 3DS re-release).
The “upres” of an older game is a massive undertaking. The OoT 3D port came out in 2011. For the sake of accuracy and feel, they might be able to rebuild / extend the engine they used on the 3DS to run on Switch, but that would likely be extremely difficult. Or maybe they could recreate the entire game in an already Switch-compatible engine (perhaps the Skyward Sword HD or BotW tech), but then it would be difficult to capture the core gameplay experience. Perhaps they could just start from scratch, but that’s even more expensive. No matter what they run it on, they’ll have to reproduce all the assets. Because OoT is such a beloved game—and there is precedent here with WW HD, etc.—they would likely choose to closely and carefully recreate the style of the original game, vs. drastically changing the art, sound, etc.
Regarding the narrative content, as others have mentioned, the game is 25 years old and from a less inclusive era, so aspects have not aged well. If there were edits made, it would perhaps be to modify those rougher spots, but likely not be a drastic rewrite.
To quote Husband, “There are very low odds they’d go the Final Fantasy VII Remake route” and retcon / change a bunch, especially since Nintendo already has such a strong HD re-release precedent. Because it would essentially be a port at that point, it would likely be given to another company to handle as the first-party TotK team moves on (if they haven’t already) to their next big project.
I have no idea what Aonuma’s role entails at Nintendo, but at the very most he would be part of the greenlight process to have another studio work on a re-release of OoT, and would likely not have any creative nor directorial influence on the game itself (there even are several interviews in which Omega Force described having very little oversight from the BotW team as they worked on AoC). So if folks are worried about him taking the game in a different direction, if he’s even still in a creative position at Nintendo, he will undoubtedly mostly focus on the Next Big New Title. But it sounds like maybe he’s moved to the more corporate / franchise level now, in which case he will not be in the weeds on creative direction much at all.
In the end, if Nintendo did decide to tackle the heavy lift of delivering a new generation of OoT to players (including getting it running on the Switch, redoing the art and audio, and making then localizing specific string changes, etc.), the end result probably won’t be different enough to risk undermining the long-established OoT lore nor impact the game’s place in the hearts of the fandom.
If anything, it could be a great chance for returning and newer players to experience this chapter of the older lore at >20fps.

So whenever you post something abt rwby do you mean the anime like ice kingdom or whatever it's called or smthing else ? I'm a bit confused about the rwby order and stuff
Both, actually! It can be kind of confusing, I know. As of right now, there are two different shows.
RWBY is the original. Its animation is 3d and looks like this:
Tumblr media
Yes, the animation has changed over time (re: improved), but it has always been 3d. That is the original show, and that is the one with eight volumes as-of-now and more on its way. This is the show you'd want to watch first.
--
RWBY: Ice Queendom, on the other hand, is an anime that doesn't stay true to the original show, rather breaking off into firmly AU territory to tell its own story. It's a legit anime, made by Studio Shaft, and it is 2d. Not all of it is out yet, but it's airing at the moment, and so far, it seems fairly good. The English dub isn't out quite yet, but there are subtitles.
Tumblr media
You can watch Ice Queendom before watching RWBY, but... I wouldn't recommend it. A lot of context is left out and not explained - the show counts on its audience to have already watched the original beforehand.
They are different shows. Ice Queendom isn't just RWBY with different animation, which is what I think confuses some people. It's a completely different storyline with new characters and villains. Weiss is the singular main character, hence the name, which is certainly not the case in the original.
It's an AU!

Hello my friends,
Some people have been interested in how I did the 3D Avatar. So this is not a full tutorial but more or less a more detailed explanation.
Tumblr media
Ay, let's go! °^°~
I always wanted to do creative stuff with the models from the Detective Conan Wii game. However I have no knowledge on how you rip assets from games. That's why I searched the internet in hope somebody had already done that with this game.
Ripping assets from games means that you take all the stuff that's used inside a game and turn it into a raw file so you can use it outside of the actually game. You can do that with All the 3D-models, pictures, music, different datasets and much more.
While doing my research, I found this site called The Video Game Resource. They have a lot of assets ripped directly from popular games.
After downloading the 3D-Conan file I imported it into a computer program called Blender. Blender is Open Source (free) and you can use it to create awsome stuff in 3D an 2.5 D.
This is how that looks.
Tumblr media
I created the materials and put the original textures on it and boom Conan looks very colorful now!
Tumblr media
I think he looks great from all the sites!
To make the smol brat move later on, he needs an armature with bones. So I need to rig it.
The model already came with an armature and it was fully rigged. However the avatar format that is used here has a specific standard for 3D-model armatures. Since this wasn't the case here I needed to rig the character from scratch.
It took a while but now it looks like this.
Tumblr media
I also upgraded Conans emotionless face by using Shape Keys / Bendshapes just as much as necessary so it keeps the original charm.
Smol baby Conan can now be turned into a 3D-avatar. But wait! This can not be done in Blender, therefore we need a nother computer program the Unity GameEngine!
I created a new project and imported the edited model.
I put the materials with the textures on it and Conan looks all colorful in unity too!
Tumblr media
Next is the UniVRM Add-on.
It's a quick install.
Now the Avatar can be exported. After exporting the avatar I needed to be reimported it so I can tweak to my desire. Therefore a VRM have Blendshape Clips. This is mostly used for face animations and props.
Tumblr media
Said it, done it! Everything is now tweaked to my desire, so I exported the Avatar again.
Its always good to test the model while working on it. For face tracking with a webcam in desktop mode I use a program called VSeeFace.
Tumblr media
To track my hand movements I use a device called Leap Motion Controller.
Now for the best part. VSeeFace has an intern avatar format that extends the vrm Avatar. So I went back to unity and installed the VSF-SDK.
I put some animations on Conan and now he is ready to be exported as a VSF-Avatar.
Tumblr media
Conan inside the tracking programme is now ready to be used for all kinds of different stuff. Maybe recording some clips with the Open Broadcast Studio (OBS), it can be also used for live streams.
Tumblr media
Maybe join a Discord call with your friends.
Tumblr media
There is so much you can do with Avatars like this. It's honestly to much to explain everything here. °A•
Thank you for ready this post, I hope it was interesting. If you've got questions I'm happy to answer them! >3<

I want to take a minute to address the “VTuber design style” thing, since it seems to have become a hot topic in light of the new Fire Emblem stuff, but I’ve noticed there’s a lot of misconceptions going around. I’m a VTuber myself and I can say from experience that there’s a ton more variety in the VTubing community than people seem to think there is, so I’d like to explain why people think VTubers look a certain way, as well as give some examples of other looks.
When you think of VTubers, you probably think of something like this, right?
Tumblr media
Now, there’s nothing inherently wrong with these designs, but you may notice a sort of uniformity to them. They all seem to feature fairly detailed designs in a contemporary anime style, almost a sort of gacha character-esque feeling. Why is this?
All of the VTubers shown above are members of Hololive Production, a talent agency owned by Cover Corporation, a Japanese tech entertainment company. What does this mean for these designs? Well, it means two things: 1. As part of the same corporation, they’re aiming for a uniform, highly marketable look, and 2. again, as part of a big budget corporation, these VTubers have the backing to afford extremely expensive models.
In addition to Hololive, the other main VTuber talent agency is Nijisanji, known for having more male talents and also for their extremely shiny look. Again, they’re a corporation and they are aiming for a certain look.
Tumblr media
In addition, there are many non-corporate VTubers who try to emulate the look and production quality of groups like Hololive and Nijisanji. This sometimes works out, and sometimes doesn’t. I’ve seen a lot of indie vtubers sink hundreds if not thousands of dollars into their models and graphics, only to decide a few months later that VTubing isn’t for them, or that they don’t like their character, and disappear into nothingness. So if you’re thinking of becoming a VTuber, PLEASE start with a cheap model, or even try streaming without a model just to be sure it’s something you enjoy doing.)
Why do these models cost so much? Well, most of them are made using a program called Live2D. This is the same technology used in games like Project Sekai, for example. But while those sprites are fairly simple, VTuber models require many, many points of articulation. The art must be drawn in a certain way, often split up into hundreds of layers, and then rigged in Live2D, either by the artist or a dedicated rigger. In many cases this can get so detailed as to rig individual strands of hair, fingers, different parts of the inside of the mouth, the highlights in the eyes, etc.
Tumblr media
Ok, so we’ve established the reason why corporate VTubers and copycats look like that: They’re aiming for a recognizable and uniform style, and they have the money to afford incredibly complex rigs. But what do non-corporate VTubers look like?
While many of them do look similar to Hololive and Nijisanji, in general indie and small agency VTubers tend to have more variety in design, as they’re not restricted by corporate direction and can focus more on what they personally like. Many make their own models. Also, in addition to Live2D, some VTubers use 3D models, either made using a program called VRoid Studio or more traditional 3D model software. Here’s a fun example: My pal Auntie Katie (@old_lady_katie on Twitter), who recently revealed her new model which she made in Blender! Along with her dear pet Catburger.
Tumblr media
Here’s Crow (@crow_creates), who worked hard to make a plus size model in VRoid, and did an absolutely gorgeous job:
Tumblr media
On the 2D side, we’ve got Monacht (@MonachtVT), a trans fighting game legend:
Tumblr media
Kaijuu-san (@monster0721), a Godzilla enthusiast- Yes, his model really moves!
Tumblr media
I’d be remiss not to mention Auntie Calc (@HotCalc), who uses VRoid to change her outfits on a regular basis:
Tumblr media
And of course, for the curious, here’s me (@AkumajoAurora)! I made this model myself in VRoid, and she was largely designed to look like a fantasy version of my IRL appearance. Her design takes some inspiration from late 90s and early 2000s fashion in addition to other elements.
Tumblr media
I hope this post helps clarify why corporate VTubers look the way they do, as well as open some eyes to the wide variety of amazing VTubers in our community. And keep in mind that these are just some of my personal favorite VTubers- There’s a lot more out there as well! Take a look around, you might find someone you really vibe with! Thank you for reading <3

Hi 2023!!
my 2022 review, some thoughts and a wish
That above was my first drawing of the year. I did it yesterday on my sketchbook while I was having dessert with my family. 🍰 I was thinking about doing one of those end of the year posts. And now I know what I want to say. So here we go!
I've been on Tumblr for a short time (less than a month!), but I'm really happy to have signed up because it's a cool website. A social media platform where I can express myself freely?? AWESOME.
I started 2022 in a really good position. I was working on a little animation studio where I was learning a lot of stuff. I was payed to do what I love!! It was great, but it didn't last much longer. I couldn't get my contract renewed, so it came the time to say goodbye in the end of April. I'm really grateful because I ended up working there for a whole year. And I even started that job before ending college. So yeah, it was cool. Thanks to that job I also worked on some animation projects, both on 2D and 3D, and I have credits in a few animation shortfilms. <3
But as my job ended it came that common moment that any college student has to live through once they end their degree (but in my case was delayed by a year): searching for a job. Luckily, I was able to do some gigs here and there, but nothing that would last long. And I also developed some projects with my friends. One of them, a fashion film, ended up being nominated for some film festivals!
Tumblr media
a photo with the team in one film festival, Facom Fest!
When I started searching for a new job I needed to learn a lot of new stuff. Stuff that you don't learn in college. It was hard, but I'm kind of grateful to have lived thru that?? I think that I growed a lot thanks to that. The bad side was that I couldn't get any position. I learned to do my cv, to edit show reels, to write cover letters and still...

Tumblr media
After some meditation I finally decided to search for a master's degree, so I may be able to learn more and to turn myself into a better professional. If I'm honest, although I have the experience and a college degree, my field wasn't animation until I landed in my first job lol So I need to learn more if I want to get a job in the animation industry.
I thought of searching for a master's degree once I ended that first job, but I wasn't really sure what to study. But right now I know that I want to study 3D animation. I've done 3D animation before and I know that I really like it. So right now I'm matriculated in an online master's degree in 3D animation that will begin in March. I really want it to start!! And to share the stuff that I'll do. I'm really happy with this decision.
This year I also drawed a lot. Because of some bad experiences in my childhood, I've never really drawn that much when I was a teenager. T-T In college I started drawing a little bit, but not that much because I didn't feel good enough. And yeah, maybe I wasn't good, but there is none enough to just start drawing. Thanks to that one year job in the animation studio I started drawing as a habit. One of my co-workers and very good friend of mine cheered me up to start drawing more. And 2022 was the year for that. These last months I've been drawing almost everyday. I also read a book about figure drawing. And thanks to all that practice I'm pretty concious of how I'm improving. This makes me happy too.
When I was a kid I wanted to be a comic artist. Nobody has (still) payed me for making comics, but I'm making them!! And some people like them!!! So I'm making one of my dreams come true. I did like 14 during Inktober, but I only shared one of them on Tumblr. I promise that I'll translate more of them.
This last year I didn't travel much but I was able to attend some great events: Mundos Digitales in A Coruña, Celsius 232 in Avilés, Xornadas de Literatura e Videoxogos in Vigo, Hispacón in Ferrol and Facom Fest in Santiago de Compostela. In these events I met new people while also spending time with my friends. <3
Tumblr media
Some of these events where more work oriented, but others were just a fun time. I love spending time in my hobbies and fandoms, although I've been talking a lot about studying and working in this post LOL Did you know that in 2022 I started reading The Locked Tomb and they're great books???
This year I spend a lot of time with my family and my friends. I'm really grateful to be able to do that. I think that I'm also starting to spend more quality time with my best friends. I've been meditating a lot about friendship lately.
And in 2022 I also got my driver's license and ate a lot of sushi.
Tumblr media
In 2023 I hope to learn a lot about 3D animation and drawing. I want to continue making comics and spending time with my friends. And I wish to tell more stories, because it's what I like the most. <3
And be sure...

Now Watching… (November TV Shows and Movies Rec List)
Julie and the Phantoms
(Netflix)
Julie Molina has been unable to sing or play music since her mom passed away. When she’s cleaning out her mom’s garage studio a year later, three ghosts suddenly appear. Luke, Alex, and Reggie were members of the band Sunset Curve twenty five years ago, and they died just as they were making a name for themselves. The guys try to figure out an afterlife where people are able to see they when they play music with Julie, and Julie is encouraged inspired by them to keep going with her passion.
This soundtrack is amazing, and you really fall in love with all of the band. Literally cannot stop listening to it.
Enola Holmes and Enola Holmes 2
(Netflix)
Enola is the younger sister of Mycroft and Sherlock Holmes. She has lived and learned from her mother for her whole life until she wakes up to find her missing on the morning of her sixteenth birthday. Running from the boarding school where Mycroft wants to put her, Enola sets out to find her mother in London. Along the way, she meets the young Viscount Tewkesbury, who seems to be embroiled in a plot of his own.
In the second movie, Enola has started her own detective agency. Unfortunately, she’s not getting much business — until a factory match girl asks for help finding her older sister. She quickly realizes that this surface level missing persons case goes much deeper. Meanwhile, her brother Sherlock has a case of his own, and for once he’s having some trouble with it.
It’s hard to write mystery and write it well. The cinematic experience cleverly takes you on a journey along with Enola’s quick thinking and deductions. Enola is headstrong, funny, and resourceful and I love her. Also, for anyone who is a fan, tie-ins to the Arther Conan Doyle series are fun to try and spot.
The Dragon Prince — Season Four: Mystery of Aaravos
(Netflix)
The Dragon Prince series is set in the fantasy world of Xadia, where the the land is split between humans and elves. War breaks out when the humans use dark magic to slay the king of the dragons and destroy his only egg. Years later, in the human kingdom of Katolis, Prince Callum and his younger half brother Ezran find out that the egg has not actually been destroyed. They out on a journey to bring peace, along with a moon shadow elf, Rayla.
There’s a two year gap between the end of season 3 and the beginning of season 4. The characters have grown in that time, both in personality, relationships, and skill. But beware! It seems that the shadowy antagonist has also been growing in power during these past two years…
In this show, you can really connect with the characters on their journeys and see them develop. I love the animation style too. They actually incorporate 3D animation, but take out frames to give it a 2D effect! They seem to have slightly altered it in season four, maybe they didn’t bother with a 2D effect this time? Many characters have changed hairstyles though, and some of them I don’t necessarily agree with…
Story of Yanxi Palace 延禧攻略
(MZTV Exclusive Chinese Drama - YouTube)
Set in the Qing dynasty during Emperor Qianlong’s reign, Wei Yingluo starts working as an embroiderer in the Forbidden City. The real reason she’s there, however, is to find out the truth behind her sister’s murder. With quick wit and a clever tongue, nothing will stop her from getting her just retribution. But with drama in the imperial harem beginning to affect even her, and jealous rivals at every turn, can she still push through?
This has 70 episodes and I’m not even half way through. TBH I was looking forward to a mystery to solve and justice to be served, but I’m honestly a little weary of the constant thorns of antagonists like Gao Ningxin. If this is the tone for all 70 episodes… If you want a more lighthearted Commoner in the Imperial Palace show, I would recommend Delicacies Destiny, which is now on Disney+ and is rather funny.
Ascendance of a Bookworm 本好きの下剋上 ~司書になるためには手段を選んでいられません~
(Crunchyroll)
When a girl from the modern world wakes up in the body of a frail five year old child living a medical life, her first concern is to ask where all the books are! Upon realizing that books are highly expensive and only for nobility, Myne sets out to create one of her own. She starts improving the life of her family, and her intelligence and new inventions draw the attention of many. Despite the fevers that often affect her body, her ultimate goal is to become a librarian.
This is !! The best isekai I’ve ever watched !!! I’m not usually a huge fan of this genre but I love this series. I love all of Myne’s DIY projects and her obsession with books. It’s actually a Japanese light novel series but the anime does a wonderful job and actually adds to Myne’s characterization a little bit. This is at the top of my list for animes, right up there with Shirayuki.
CHUANG 2020
(WeTV - CHUANG 2021 -YouTube)
This is a competition show from China where 100 talented trainees from Asia compete by singing and dancing to see who will make the cut for the new seven member girl group. 2020 was an amazing lineup!
Some personal favorites from this season are Zhong FeiFei, Curley Gao, Tu Zhiying, Ao Xinyi, Wang Ke, Zhang Yifan, Lin Junyi, and… I will never finish this list, will I? A little hard to find some of the episodes though (Ep 3, looking at you!)

Why I Don't Like the Gold Third
Tumblr media
This isn’t a rant or anything, but it’s one of those opinion blogs about why I don’t like this one thing. This time, I’m gonna talk about the Gold Third from the Neptunia series and why I don’t like them.
I just found out that the Gold Third will be returning for Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution and suddenly I’ve lost all interest in wanting to try the game out. Literally, these characters are the one reason I probably won’t play it. Part of the reason is because I simply don’t like their games, specifically C-Sha and S-Sha, but also because some of them, specifically B-Sha, are just too confusing because I don’t quite understand what game publishers they represent, but it’s just B-Sha, the other three I already know.
Who is B-Sha really?
Tumblr media
Is B-Sha supposed to represent Bandai Namco? Let me clarify that Bandai is the toy company owned by Toei, the anime studio best known for anime series’ like DragonBall, Sailor Moon, Gundam, Digimon, Naruto and One Piece, as well as the studio that does the live-action series Super Sentai (or it’s Americanized version the Power Rangers). Bandai pretty much also does video games based on Toei anime. By the mid 2000s, Bandai ended up joining with Namco, the publishers best known for games like Pac-Man, Tekken, the Tales Of series, Ridge Racer, Time Crisis, Soul Calibur, Katamari, Dark Souls and Idolm@ster.
I’ll get to the point, I think it makes better sense if B-Sha was instead named “N-Sha”. That way, she can represent Namco instead of Bandai. Now that I have a better look at her, that thumbs-up pose does make her look like Pac-Man, the official mascot for Namco. But I’ve read that her interests include toys, robots and superheroes, are these all references to Gundam and Super Sentai? I just feel like Namco would be a much superior gaming publisher then Bandai. If B-Sha was named N-Sha, it would be much cooler to see her make MORE references to some of Namco’s best games like Pac-Man and Tekken. That’s just my opinion.
I never did think C-Sha and S-Sha were cool.
Tumblr media
In C-Sha’s case, at the time Megadimension Neptunia came out, I was fed up from having to see Capcom take all the glory since the early to mid 2010s. I was annoyed by things like…
The live-action Resident Evil film series.
Resident Evil 6 and the series’ bad spinoffs.
Street Fighter getting more praise than my favorite fighting games.
Mega Man being a fan favorite in Super Smash Bros.
Akuma’s appearance in Tekken 7.
Ace Attorney getting special editions for the 3DS and the original games being ported to the PS4. Like, how many more ports are they gonna keep making?
The popularity of Monster Hunter. Seriously, I never understood the hype about that series.
It was enough to make me want to not play Capcom games and instead boycott them. Doing this meant that I had to quit playing Devil May Cry which was the ONLY Capcom game I’ve ever appreciated. It was just annoying to see people think of Capcom as number 1 but I had the opposite opinion and thought Capcom was just sold out. Even to this day, I’m still not over it.
Tumblr media
As for S-Sha, well, I’d rather not get into too much detail as to why I’m not into Square Enix games, but the constant popularity of games like Final Fantasy was just too annoying for me to handle, simply because I was bad at Final Fantasy and thought that it’s popularity as the number 1 game series was more like peer pressure. And having to hear S-Sha say “I’m not interested” that one line Cloud had in that CG movie Advent Children is not really funny. Like, why did they have to make it sound cliche?
K-Sha is probably the only one I thought was good enough for my tastes.
Tumblr media
I got nothing against Konami and I don’t mind the Metal Gear references K-Sha makes. But after learning about the shady stuff the company’s been doing for the last decade, it made me think that maybe K-Sha should’ve made those kinds of references. Here's what I think.
Since the early to mid 2010s, Konami has had a lack of interest in wanting to keep making big AAA (triple A) games and instead showed interest in wanting to make cheap mobile games, the kind of games that involve either microtransactions or gacha mechanics. However, games designers like Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima didn’t like this shift, so what did Konami do about it? Fire Kojima as soon as he was done with Metal Gear Solid 5. I had an idea for a joke that K-Sha should’ve appeared in Sisters VS Sisters and befriend Maho, whose favorite games are mobile gacha games, and that K-Sha had a close friend important to her, but fired her because her friend wasn’t into mobile gacha games.
Likewise, I feel like I would’ve liked K-Sha more if she made more then just Metal Gear references and made MORE references to some of Konami’s other great games like Frogger, Castlevania, Contra, Silent Hill, Dance Dance Revolution, Zone of the Enders, they could even have her make Yu-Gi-Oh references if they wanted. Or better yet, they should have K-Sha marry Peashy or Yellow Heart, that way, their new marriage can be a reference to Konami’s acquisition of Hudson games like Bomberman.
Who is F-Sha?
Tumblr media
So I just ended up learning that Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution has a new character to the series, calling themselves F-Sha. I literally have no idea who this character represents. She dresses like a knight in silver, but the name or design doesn’t give me any idea as to what sort of game publisher she’s named after. Like, what company in the gaming world do I know that starts with the letter “F”? Odds are, it’s probably a Japanese publisher that does Japanese RPGs I’m not familiar with, you know, because I’m a Westerner and I don’t normally play RPGs. I could just look it up on the fan wiki, but I don’t think I’m gonna like this character based on the other members of the Gold Third.
If Neptunia really wanted to impress me with the Gold Third, they could’ve included members that are based on other kinds of game publishers. Like, I would love it if there was a member called “U-Sha” who would represent Ubisoft. But of course, Ubisoft is based in Canada, not Japan, so they can’t do that. Heck, I had an idea for a joke that K-Sha is married to someone called “T-Sha” and the two of them represent Koei Tecmo and this is to reference Koei’s joining with Tecmo. And as I mentioned, it makes better sense if B-Sha was named N-Sha and should instead reference Namco instead of Bandai, otherwise, you can make a joke saying that B-Sha actually represents Bethesda (I hope that’s how I spelled it).
In Conclusion
Overall, if I had to name the worst Neptunia characters, it would be the Gold Third. I realize that the reasons I don’t like them is simply because…
In C-Sha and S-Sha’s case, I don’t like their games.
I think B-Sha should’ve been named N-Sha and have her represent Namco instead of Bandai.
They should’ve had more members, like a member called U-Sha named after Ubisoft.
I don’t want to say I’m not excited about this new Neptunia game, but depending on what gaming references this one makes, I probably won’t be that interested if this one makes references to games I’m not entirely big on. And it's worse because the Gold Third is making a return. But sooner or later, I’m probably gonna have to suck it up and deal with it.

No! Movies like "Migration" are not flopping because they're Original IPs! (Rant)
So Illuminations most recent movie, "Migration", did not have that great of an opening weekend, making it another original animated movie not based off any IPs that failed at the Box Office like Wish, Elementals and Ruby Gilman Teenage Kraken. And because of this, I've seen lots of people get worried because this means audiences might not be interested in original and that studios might use these flops as an excuse to be more lazy and bank of existing franchises in the future. And while that last worry is a valid concern, that conclusion that audiences are not interested in original works is just completely dumb. In my opinion, the reason these movies flopped are not because they're original. Its because they were not interesting enough.
What are a couple of reasons why you would want to go to a theatre and see a movie, instead of waiting for it to come to streaming or dvd? Usually it comes down to your movie's premise. If your premise is strong, your story is going to get a lot more eyes on it. First impressions matter and if you don't give off a good first impression, its going to be a lot harder to convince people to give your thing attention. If you look at the trailers for movies like Oppenhiemer, Barbie and the few movies that did well this year, all of them gave very good impressions into what the movie would be like and it strong enough to bring people to watch their movies in the theater. In comparison, the 4 original animated works that were released this year didnt have that. Ruby Gilman just seemed like a cookie cutter adventure movie for kids, not bad but too generic to be memorable. That and it had a really awful art style, Im sorry. It probably would've worked much better in 2d but in 3d it did not look good. Elementals looked like a typical Pixar movie and where you have a forbidden romance between a fire girl and lava girl because *gasp* elements cant mix. If you asked an AI to come up with a generic Pixar plot, this movie would be the product of it. Wish is an interesting case because while it did have the moniker of commemorating Disney's 100th Anniversary movie to celebrate it, what really brought it down was how it looked way more unpolished than they're previous 3D movies, the really bad villian song, the missed opportunity to have it be in 2D (which honestly would've been way more eyecatching because we have not seen a traditional hand drawn Disney movie since 2009), and most general audiences being fed up with the house of Mouse this year. I find it really ironic that the year turned 100 ended up being one of their worst years finanicially. And Migration felt like one of those safe family adventure movies that would be straight to video and not be out of place in a collection of various animated dvds you had at your parents place.
Now I should make things clear that I have not seen any of these movies. I'm just going off the first impressions I got from the trailers and premises from these movies, and not from the actual story or characters. For example, I have heard that Elementals might have a lot more to it than what the trailers gave off so dont take this the wrong way. Then again, I have not heard good things about Wish and Ruby Gilman so maybe I might be on the nose a little bit. But do you see where Im getting at here? If my first impressions of these movies were poor, than what about the impressions of most general audiences? The fact these movies are original ips are irrelevant, if you're premise is not strong enough than no one's going to see your movie! That's why Im get annoyed when I see people think these movies being original are the reason why people are not seeing them. Like it doesn't matter if your movie doesn't come off as being good. And while I can get behind the fear of studios seeing these flops and double down on more souless cash grabs of IPs, its like those types of movies are doing well either. FastX, the new Mission Impossible movie, and pretty much 3/4th of Disney's line up this year (cuz their lazy) have not preformed well at the box office despite being franchises people are familiar with. Because when it comes down to it, all audiences want to see are good movies, with good stories and compelling characters and plots! Like look at Guardians 3! Sure its a franchise movie but its a really good story and possibly one of the last good movies Marvel will ever make. Hell, even that movie initially struggled due to oversaturated and bad most MCU entries have become. Sure, can souless cash grabs be successful purely because of familiarity and nothing else? Of course, but there comes a point where that method being as effective. Take Disney's Live Action remakes, which were really successfully in the late 2010s but stopped post 2020 due to more and more people see how lazy these movies are.
This is why I think we need to shift the discussion away from "original movies good, franchise movies bad" to "good movies good, bad movies bad". It doesn't matter if your movie is a sequel or a whole new original story, if its good, people will see it. Now there are exceptions where movies that regarded as classics now like Iron Giant and Treasure Planet were financial failures upon their releases. And I know that a movie financial success is not indicative of its quality, like Disney's lazy live action remakes for example. But this notion that a movie being original automatically makes it worth watching is just misguided I feel like. Because being original doesn't stop you from feeling and looking generic and derivative. Does it suck movies like Ruby Gilman didn't do well at the box office? Yeah but was anyone actually excited from the trailers? That's pretty much all I gotta say about this topic. Let me know what you guys think?

Taking advantage of the fact the cinema is now only a 5 minute walk from my sofa and going to watch another film this weekend.
This time - The Mario movie
.... yeah the critics are right, this things 6/10 at best.
So, before i went... i set my expectations as rock bottom as i could.
Mario, as a franchise, is hardly known for its complex plots. Illumination, as a studio, have made Just-Fine film after Just-Fine film. They dont make Good films, they make Okay films that entertain kids & sell a tonne of merch.
So like, i always expected this film to be a 7/10 at best
It... failed to hit what i would consider a 7.
The story is fine. But didnt really work for me. It feels... basic. The dialogue is Fine. Awkward in places but ehh.
Humour completely fell flat on me. I think the movie got 2 laughs out of me, and an internal giggle as i mentally went "so long, gay bowser". I said on my post about the D&D movie that American humour usually doesnt work on me - and yeah, in this case it really didnt work on me.
I cant fault most of the visuals though - its visually stunning. Maybe some of the best semi-realistic 3d animation ive seen? Like, i really cannot fault the actual animators here, and you can tell they really really tried to make the best product they could. I think the biggest gripe i have is Peachs anatomy looks a bit... odd?? But really, thats the only complaint i have about the visuals of the movie.
I definitely feel like all this movies best bits... were in the trailers. You kinda miss the underlying story if you just see the trailers, but you really do see like... most of the set pieces. I really dont like it when films do this.
The movie uses real world pop music. It's bad. Every use of it kinda took me out of it. It doesn't make sense for the movie. And many of the choices kinda made me scratch my head because I couldn't see why they'd chosen THAT song?? Go watch Shrek and Shrek 2 and learn how to put pop music in an animated film in a way that Works ಠ_ಠ.
I usually kinda find myself engrossed in any film i see in the cinemas, regardless of the quality. Like, I enjoyed Rise of the Skywalker in cinema! I had a lot of fun with that film! Is it a good story? Not really! But i dont regret seeing it in the cinema.
I just felt "meh" throughout this entire film. I felt "meh" upon leaving.
Everything else though...
..... Watch it on TV when it inevitably airs around the holiday season or something, its just not worth going out of your way to watch.

August 2022 Game Development Blog
Hello! Today is maybe the Great start of making assets for this Game Development. I did some research about the Daz 3D and I will discuss it in this Blog.
Tumblr media
Artwork by UncleJohn, Produced by KaotoGames
Background Used (Credits) : https://wallpaperscraft.com/download/books_vintage_paper_cards_notebook_retro_74362/1920x1080
DeviantArt : https://www.deviantart.com/unclejohnkun/art/Selfie-923786263
-----------------
A short Script *Insert the artwork* 📃
John : Let's selfie again 👉
Yamato : Ok ♥️
Kawano : Why Am I Here!!!!!
(Yes, I'm out of ideas for this short script 😝, "bawi ako next time". The title on the top-right of the artwork is presenting my current event just like last month "Not related to Game Development").
-----------------
While I'm doing Artwork, I'm still thinking "How can I do Backgrounds??". I don't have any skills or knowledge for doing a background. So, I've tried to look on the internet for free commercial-type backgrounds to use but it's not suitable for my needs. Since I Don't have any budget, volunteer, or collab to get some artists to do the background, I need to find other ways. So I found out about the Daz Studio/Daz 3D, a software like Blender. But to use and render it smoothly, It needs an Nvidia Graphics Card. My budget for the laptop since I can't create a Crowdfunding Campaign is P20,000 or $360. The budget for a laptop with Nvidia is around P50,000 or $900.
You: Why laptop and not buy a Desktop Computer?
Me: Because I'm currently living in my Tita's house and the electricity here is so expensive as hell. Last year, when I was doing my old game development, I got so many limitations by using a computer (Now the computer is on my little brother and he's been using it for digital arts) and now, I don't have any PC to work on. The laptop consumes less electricity while the computer is a bit hungry on electric ⚡.
I hope that It's good to combine both 3D and Anime Character Sprites because I don't have any choices. Even if it's painful to render, at least I got Background for free!!!.

Background Used (Credits) : https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=17302
This is a sample If I have a team who can draw background (Sadly, I'm currently the only one who is working on this game)
Well, this Game Development is still in danger (Because I don't have a Piece of Equipment I need to work on) and anytime can be postponed or canceled. I will try my best to continue this bit by bit. Either try to get a part-time job but the Game Development will be postponed because I don't have any time for it {Cycles ~ College>Part-time>Collage>.....}. Or Open a Crowdfunding Campaign (The Best Choice is Kickstarter but it's not available to create in the Philippines).
Game development is my passion but I'm more on Digital Right now because I only have a smartphone that I can use this whole year. I need to become productive rather than wasting my time on nonsense things.

Kawano Taro Sprite (Not yet Shaded)
I am currently working now on Kawano Sprite and the Photo attached to it is not yet shaded. There are 6 main lists needed for the clothes.
Hobbies
School Uniform
School Club
Half Body Towel
Personality Style
Casual Outfit - No sample yet
The other is a special event for each character (No Idea yet but I know there will be more suits needed for special events.)
I'm not good at shading but since I'm the only one doing this, I still try my best to learn more about digital arts. It's my first time using a symmetry ruler to make it better 🙌.
Tumblr media
Full Body Art of Each Character (4/6 Done)
Did I say last month that I will make full-body Illustrations for each character? Well... Ummm. I didn't finish it, Only 2 characters left (Sorry about that). I need to rework the main character for some reason. But hey! There's a Progress 👉
In case you're wondering why all the characters are wearing black. Because I'm not good at shading (For real). In other cases to not look like there's no meaning behind it, It represents D̵̗͓̦̜̈͌̊̏̏̌͆̾͂̅͆̕͘̚ě̴̡̛̲͇̯͓̤̦̮̖̹̗̱̰̜̈́̃́̿̓̓̀a̵̧̡̧̝̞̲̜͂̑̋͐̽̉͘ͅţ̸͙̺̹̬͇̮̽̈̈́́̽͐̐̋̌̎̓͘͝͠͝h̶̜̫̮͉̮͍̮͓̬̩̫̀̐͛͂̏͐̍͋͊. (Lastly, don't mind my grammar 😆)
Thanks for your time to read my blog ♥️
