Songbird AU for the Old Guard please? -@whumperflies
The Old Guard - Partners In Crime - Set It Off, Ash Costello
HEIST AU BABY~!
OOHH I’m so glad this song came on, I love this song so much, it’s my favorite daydreaming song imagining different characters in it’s scenario.
The chorus of this song is “You'll never take us alive // We swore that death will do us part // They’ll call our crimes a work of art  // You'll never take us alive // We'll live like spoiled royalty, lovers and partners // Partners in crime” and the bridge is the climax of the heist where they’re pinned by the police and they go out in a blaze of glory.
SO. Obviously Andy is the boss of this crew. She picks the targets, meets with the people who want to hire her crew to steal shit, that kind of stuff. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Nile is the new kid, she was a rookie cop and kinda got tangled up in one of their heists, accidentally got kidnapped by them (Joe: “She ran right into me! She saw my face, what the hell was I supposed to do?? Let her go and have the whole city know who I am??”) She was pissed at first, but started digging, asking every question she could think of, why did they do what they do, how often do they do a heist, you guys live in this penthouse, you guys get paid HOW MUCH? She decides she wants to stick around.
Booker is main insurgent, if Andy is with the team he is second only to her, but when she’s busy elsewhere, creating a distraction (subtly or not), he’s the one that breaches the vault (subtly or not), and gets what they came for. Nile sticks with him.
Joe also sticks with Booker, watching his six and controlling the hostages if they wind up with some.
Nicky is their sniper, perched high to keep an eye on the outside and picking off security through the windows if they’re heading towards any of his crew.
Copley is their man in the van, both as a computer specialist controlling the cameras and as their getaway driver.
As for are they immortal? That I can’t decide, it’d be fun if they were so they just keep getting more and more grand escapades, but the whole “going out in a blaze of glory” thing is poetic and I love it. The song itself is very much Bonny and Clyde
And the betrayal from certain characters would be *chefs kiss* so good.
(might need to actually write this AU lmao)
Thanks for this @whumperflies!
