Not to sound like a doomer but I think having worked in the tech industry and especially having seen the ways apps are designed has given me a unique insight into the depthless corporate evil that lies at the heart of modern society and I’m deeply afraid and skeptical of all technological advancements that capitalism produces because I know they’ll inevitably be used to further worsen the lives of common people but I also find myself unable to escape from these dangers because my education affords me no way to support myself that does not require engaging with these existential threats to the human experience

ok so josh(ua majkavić) is my character for my friends and i's monster of the week campaign The Body and like his entire character concept is being if damien thorn or rosemary's baby or any other human-raised demonspawn grew up to become a guy who sucks. he grew up around the appalachian part of georgia but has been living in the general area of chicago with his ineffectual nerd roommates for most of his adulthood now

he's pretty majorly depressive/somewhat of a doomer, terminally insincere, and is generally predisposed to cruelty, but he's a pretty funny guy mostly intentionally. in all reality he cares quite hard and usually does not actually mean to be awful but it is literally his nature it makes him feel kind of bad sometimes but he also genuinely has to throw up if anyone cries around him. he also did beat a kid on an opposing roller hockey team to death when he was like 15 and made blood and dead fish rain on his town for about 12 hours don't worry about it.

he doesn't really leave his room if he can help it he has a really scary like prison gym setup in there and a carefully controlled climate both so he can keep as covered up as possible all the time and so his intricate crypto rig(/only source of income because he doesn't want to be a line cook again) doesn't catch on fire

has tyler durden-esque god-daddy issues despite having no father involved in his creation and is a COLOSSAL momma's boy to the point of getting about as close to being a misandrist as a cis bi man can get. speaking of which his mom (rosemary<3 aren't i clever) is a slightly hippieish cultist who had him as part of a ritual so he can bring about the radical change her group wants and bring about the end times but she also loves her baby (29 year old son) so so so so so so so much. he knows that most kids didn't have animal sacrifices at their birthday parties but he doesn't feel like having that conversation with anybody!

ok anyway ummmmmm let's see. he is the kind of guy that shaves his head in response to any occasion of major stress. starting as a young teenager one of his favorite hobbies was writing gruesome chainmail stories and he stopped in his early 20s but he thinks about going back to it sometimes. he was hooking up semi-regularly with their now-dead roommate and that is going to be a bigger deal than he ever expected it to be. his favorite movie is martyrs and his favorite game is cs:go which he is VASTLY toxic in. he's 5'10" and gets insecure about it sometimes. while he is quite good with computers he is still the least tech-inclined of his household and he recently clicked on a sketchy link his sister's hacked account sent him once and his roommates have lost all faith in his internet safety knowledge and he is suffering the consequences more in that way than he is in actual damage to his pc. he has a really bad tattoo somewhere but i haven't decided where or what yet a tribal tattoo is tempting but almost feels too obvious for a former linecook

he is very fun i think i do a bad job at describing him in a way that doesn't sound intolerable to play with i promise everyone loves josh. i still have not finished art of him at any point but the best i have to offer is this. jotch at 29 at the time of the campaign, around 15-16, and at his ninthish birthday with his mom:D

Sorry for the delayed response, I just had a really cool post idea (and I should get to work on it soon) -- which I may or may not go ahead and do, given that it involves explaining the connection between a bunch of different popular science books.

That post idea involves "dinosaur porn," but I've heard "porn" used rather disparagingly for many kinds of content, so I'd rather not call it that. (I don't know, I think the term might also be used positively by some people, but I do know a few people who say they don't like porn because it's usually "gross," "creepy," etc. -- although one or two of these people also like some of the stuff that gets lumped in with porn. "Dinosaur porn," then, is sort of a negative catch-all term; I'll only call it that if I want to.)

But back to the book I was talking about: it's called Inventing the Dinosaurs: The Modern Synthesis and Its Influence.

I should warn that if the book's title is not enough to dissuade you (I'm not sure it will -- many people seem to be fascinated with the idea of going over and over something and seeing it from many different angles, as in a science book), then it will probably get you really into a book about dinosaurs (if you're an American with a particularly large science education, you've probably already been exposed to the idea that there was a lot of stuff going on with dinosaurs).

But if that's what you're into, then it might be for you. There's a lot of detail, some of it technical, but a good deal of it is quite readable, and it was a very important book -- as, indeed, was its predecessor, a book I've already mentioned several times in this blog (The First Fossil Hunters), by Charles Courtney Curran, a paleontologist at Yale. It's called Paleobiology: The Modern Synthesis, and it covers the entire subject of paleontology from the late 19th century until the present, with a lot of detail about what happened in this specific field and how the field evolved through different theories.

The book was so influential, in fact, that it gave the name "paleobiology" to the field as a whole. That's a pretty common name for a science, and it's a very well known field, so I'm sure you've heard of it already, but I thought I'd mention it since I know people who are excited about dinosaurs have not heard of it.

Anyway, in Inventing the Dinosaurs, the author, Mark Carrano, makes the point that, although the paleontology community had been in the process of creating this "modern synthesis" for a long time (indeed, it's generally agreed that major "upheavals" happened in different areas of the science at different times), the final result (for the field as a whole) wasn't reached until the mid-20th century (by which Carrano means "in the 1950s").

There were a bunch of different ideas that were put forward at different times to explain a bunch of different features, and it's often easy to get confused because they sound very different from each other and to give each one its due. For instance, there was the "gradualist" (or "uniformitarian") idea that Earth was very slowly and steadily changing over a very long period. This idea was often used to explain all the other changes and features, but there were various different proposed explanations for why it would be true -- some were due to natural processes, some were due to the Creator (but this was a doomer idea; that is, a Creationist idea whose purpose was to convince Christians to believe in a Biblical flood). Gradualism explained a lot, but it didn't explain the origin of some features -- like the very first vertebrates.

Gradualism is "boring," so it was a popular choice until someone pointed out that it didn't make sense to use the same gradualist theory to explain the origin of something and to explain the persistence of that thing. And there were various proposed solutions to this problem, and one of them was called paleo-explosionism, a theory which held that the first vertebrates were all created all at once in the very early Precambrian -- and the Earth's very slowly changing over a very long period. Gradualism could explain lots of stuff, but it couldn't explain the origin of vertebrates.

The next example is going to be a little more complicated and a little less popular, because I'll need to explain a bunch of different theories that were developed at different times. This is because the "modern synthesis" is, in fact, a really complex "ideology" -- a set of theories that were built around a handful of ideas, and they are connected to each other in a non-trivial way. The "modern synthesis" was "theory of natural selection" plus a couple of other theories -- and the other theories built on that "core" were sometimes called the "higher synthesis," the "neo-Darwinian synthesis," etc. This is all very confusing and the "higher synthesis" was never actually one, strictly speaking, it was more like a whole bunch of different ideas held together by a web of relations and arguments.

And there are a lot of interesting theories in this whole ideology. For instance, one of the "higher synthesis" theories is called Quantum Theory of Chemical Bonding. It holds that the properties of certain molecules in solution -- "covalent bonds," meaning that a pair of atoms "bonded together" -- can be explained by treating these "bonds" as not being actual atomic bonds, but being more like virtual ones, so when two atoms are bonded together, a third atom actually "pushes" them apart, causing a "wave" of repulsion that extends between them. (That is, it's a "wave" of a property called the "force" which goes between each pair of atoms -- i.e., there's a force that pushes the bond apart.) For instance, when H₂O dissolves in water, each oxygen "pushes" on the other, and the water molecules all repel one another. (I'm not entirely clear on this point -- the covalent bond theory holds that a bond between oxygen and hydrogen "repels" the water molecules, like when you push two things apart and then they "push back.")

And then there was a theory called "radiation theory of molecular movement" which I've already mentioned as being a part of the "modern synthesis." I've already mentioned a lot of details about this one, but it was really important, because it held that something could cause a wave that extended between two atoms which were bonded to each other -- a wave that could push them apart. It was really important for Charles Darwin to hold that "something can push things apart" because that was his main point when he wrote the Origin of Species.

All this was possible, and it was important, because there was this idea that it held together all the different "higher synthesis" theories and ideas, the "modern synthesis."

That idea is "all natural." What I mean by that phrase is that Earth had slowly changed through very different theories, such as uniformitarianism and neo-Darwinian "evolution." All these changes were due to some of

Hello! As a Canadian who lives near the summer wildfires, I have never directly experienced a wildfire myself, but have had to deal with the yearly smoke that covers my city for a few weeks to a few months all summer. Some years are certainly better than others (there wasn't any smoke last year whereas this year has been one of the worst), but the smoke is becoming more of a constant issue to deal with. My family used to go away on summer holidays to a particularly wildfire prone area, but we've stopped going after two years of our holiday being ruined by smoke and even a fire close to our campsite. Couldn't even go to the beach for more than an hour. A few years ago we went to a small town that had the thickest smoke I've ever seen in my life. The people standing right next to me appeared to be hazy even though they couldn't have been more than a meter away. I took a picture right off a dock where we were staying, which I'm happy to share.

An interesting trend I've noticed is that people here are becoming more apathetic to the smoke? Like a few years ago on a smoky day there would hardly be anyone outside. But right now when I go out there are tons of people exercising, walking, and socializing despite the unsafe conditions. I think people here are tired of the smoke ruining their summers and are more willing to ignore it so they can enjoy themselves. My parents say that the smoke here during the 80's wildfires was worse, but I find that hard to believe? Idk.

Anyway I've really enjoyed hearing you talk about wildfires over this past little while! Hopefully things get better here soon but I'm fully expecting that the rest of the summer will be smoky here.

i think people in general are experiencing environmental fatigue--literally every day there's some new thing on the news that's actually toxic, new (bad) climate news, new natural disasters, new environmental disasters, new water quality issues, new chemical studies, etc. for many of us, it's our entire lives. people are just tired, and the apathy is part of that. it's also why there is so much environmental/climate doomerism--people just think there's no point in trying anymore. so i can absolutely see that people might not care as much about the smoke anymore. especially following the pandemic, where a lot of people feel like they were robbed of doing activities and want to power on no matter what risks still exist.

unfortunately, apathy about environmental risks do not remove them. it's something i have to think about in my job, because many people are just like. you're telling me i have to worry about something else now too??? but like....yeah, unfortunately they do, because in some cases only knowledge and education will protect people and inform them on how to act.

that's a long few paragraphs to simply say: don't let fatigue of constant fire and smoke risk cause you to stop taking precautions, because it can and will still harm you.

i really feel for all of you in canada this summer, everything i've heard has sounded awful. the fire season this year is really bad.

Julian Casablancas deep voice turns me on and makes me question if I wanna be him or fuck him, I say this after just stating I love my boyfriend but he feels the same, we would both fight for jules love. Anyway enough hypotheticals and onto the music review. This song is 100% going to be my most listened to track this year. It is deliciously evil in its booming bass and erratic guitar. It has such a deep, dark, sick and twisted sound but in a way that makes you feel like the villain. Every time I listen to this song my mind goes to a different version of myself, one where I can harm everyone who I did wrong and get away with it. A real “good for her” ark. This song is for you if you’re deeply angry inside, love alt goth music and just wanna listen to something fresh

So this one’s a different turn from the last song. This is a funky, French European post pop track that has a slightly more tame femme fatale feel. The lyrics discribe a women envying another women called Lucille, as the song advances this envy turns to violence and she ends up choking Lucille out on a beach (not a bad way to go out tbh). It has a retro feel but it puts a new spin on it which you get from a lot of French pop music. The bass, synths and guitar create a great feel and the accented vocals only adds to the cherry on top of this very bad ass track.

This is once again another European song but we’re heading over to Italy for this amazing duo. The whole “Quantum Leap” album is great i always play it when I don’t know what to put on. This song was actually sampled by Azealia Banks of all people, this track is very different than her 212 song though. It feels like you’re in a psychedelic jungle and nothing feels real, it’s memorising and whenever I put it on while I’m walking I instantly get a complex going, it’s just a cool song really just give it a listen.

I’m pissed they won’t show the first album cover here (it’s an ass) but another Julian Casablancas song. This track holds a special place in my heart bc every time I listen to it I think of my closest mates, every Wednesday we go and drink together and it has to be my favourite part of the week as it’s basically group therapy ( @st-rx read this n cry). It’s such a nice nostalgic track, just classic pub rock and if you haven’t listen to the “is this it” album yet just listen. I am shocked The Strokes didn’t get clumped in with the 2014 tumblr crowd.

I hadn’t heard this song till I saw the recent Bowie documentary (even if you’re not a fan of Bowie you will be if you watch this movie it’s so good) it’s the song I put on when I’m feeling like a doomer bc I wanna be an ArTiSt and it’s not taking off well. So I listen to this song often. Makes me feel less alone with my dropkick choices, just the line “your too old lose it, too young to choose it” uh gets me every fucking time. If you’re an artist just the thought of abandoning what you love just hurts and the older I get the more that fear increases. I’m literally 20 so I should shut up. Oh wow another jules song we get it. Ok last track. this song has similar energy as Johan Von Bronx but it’s a bit more subtle and more electronic, it is still dark in tone and it has a great haunting feel to it. The track is about how jules was not every content with how fast he rose to fame. The lyric “I was not ready for the podium yet, just the stage” sums that feeling up well. He of coursed love playing in the strokes but the fact that their record label and the media put so much pressure on them to make new music was fucked. The Voidz exists as a way for him and the other members to express issues and make music that they wouldn’t have otherwise been able to make back in the day. It’s so corny to say this but I genuinely believe they are the future of music and one of the last bands that is capable of making unique music AND make political statements without playing it “safe”. I could go on forever about this band and I might write an essay only to hope and pray that jules reads and critiques it.

so preface: the OP of that one post, everything they've said since your response, has been an asshole to you and I'm not ignoring that. that being said, the initial posts only, I think they're right. not in the sense that everything is going to just magically work itself out and we need to have pointless optimism, because that's stupid, but it's not quite what they're saying.

it's more, people aren't going to work towards a better future if they can't picture what that might look like. it's not just over-reliance on intellectualism, and it's not blind faith, there has to actually be something worth working towards, and we have to be able to at least imagine what that could look like to be able to work for it. the only thing "there is no hope, there is no future" can ever result in is everyone who cares getting burnt out and giving up.

"doomer" doesn't mean just acknowledging atrocities that are happening, it means giving up on the concept of anything improving, and at that point, there's no reason to even stay alive. activism has to, at some level, be based on hope that things can get better. not will, not probably will (or else we wouldn't need to do anything), but can.

You have grandpa/nanny Kurogiri, who is the one who gets to take care of you the most. He literally raises you, from teaching you how to read, to cooking you up all the delicious foods, to doing your hair, and teaching you basic etiquettes and manners! He really is the best with children, even if he's a brain-washed villain.

Grandpa AFO also makes rare appearances in your life, usually when the league goes on a mission, leaving you with him. At first, he'd just ignore you, but you slowly grew on him the more you both spent time together. AFO had this... calming voice? That would put you right to sleep whenever he was telling you a story. You reminded him of his younger brother a lot, sweet and naive, and so weak. Don't be surprised when he turns a little protective himself.

And finally, you have Dad Shigaraki, who is so soft with you, especially when you're alone. He absolutely spoils you, giving you candies and buying you toys all the time. Tomura pretends like you're an annoying pain in his ass, but he often finds himself reminiscing about the time when he used to play video games with you wrapped up in a blanket burrito in his lap, making little sounds of awe as you watched him win.

This is just my note to you, eating disorders are hell. I encourage you to seek treatment of some sort, I know it can be overwhelming and the guilt is just unbearable, especially as time goes on. Dosen’t matter what you look like and what kind of ed it is, they are all bad and can be extremely dangerous. I would know, I almost died. But also, I know you’re just trying to find a balance but sometimes that can be hard. I’m proud of you because I know deep down you just want to feel ok.

Having come outside, Sphere Doomer tried to pick up a gear rolling on the dirt. But its hands are wing-shaped and thus aren’t meant for picking things up. Kirby saw it having difficulty and realized intuitively. “You wanna gather the broken music box parts, huh? Leave it to me!”

Kirby picked up the gear and began looking for other parts as well. Captain Vul asked, having caught up to him. “What are you up to, Kirby?” “Help me, everybody. We’ll gather the broken music box parts.” “What are you doing to do by gathering it?” “Hmm, I don’t know. But it looks like Sphere Doomer wants to gather them.” “Perhaps that’s the lead to opening an extradimensional road?” “I don’t know about it, but we should gather them anyway!” Everyone began searching for the parts. As his stomach gets in the way, King Dedede has a hard time leaning over. Unable to reach the fallen object even as he tried his hardest to extend his hands, he finally lost his temper. “I’m the great ruler of Dream Land. Why do I have to look for stuff!?” “Your stomach is too chubby~!” Mocks Kirby. King Dedede yells at him. “Be quiet! Never mind your stomach, isn't your whole body plump?!” “I look good even if it does! If you’re annoyed about it, let's have a contest to see who can gather a lot of parts.” “Just what I wanted!” Kirby and King Dedede competed in gathering the parts. Dedede would order Waddle Dee to pick up the ones his hand can’t reach. Captain Vul and Meta Knight’s men also have a serious look. Captain Vul who hated losing was provoked by Kirby and Dedede’s competition. “We can’t lose to Kirby and the others. Everyone is to gather the parts! The honor of the Halberd is at stake here!” “Captain, you don’t need to honor something like that......” “Get picking if you have time to waste~!” Everyone picked up the parts in a frenzy. Their efforts paid off, and a mountain of parts were piled up before long. “We gathered them all! What do we do with this?” Kirby asked Sphere Doomer. Sphere Doomer flapped its wings and let out a high-pitched noise. They didn’t understand what it meant, but Captain Vul said. “We would need to assemble it after gathering them. Restore the broken music box......is what it’s probably saying.” “We......assemble this?” King Dedede groaned. “How on earth could we do that? Meta Knight broke it to pieces.” “Wouldn’t we be able to restore it by putting them back together properly?” Kirby picked up some of the parts, but there’s no way that he could put them together by guesswork. “It’s not possible without calling a craftsman over.” “Hmm......” It was when everyone looked at each other’s face “......Umm......” A shy voice was heard. They turn around, only to find Moa standing. He seems nervous, completely different from when he was acting high and mighty with the controller in his hands. He looked just like when he was the cowardly subordinate-in-training. Sword Knight said in a stern voice. “It’s you? You shouldn't want anything from us now. Get lost!” “Erm......I know it’s a music box, but......” Said Moa in a low voice. “I might be able to......put them back together......” Hearing that, the Meta Knights were in a huff. “What’d you just say?” “Is this one of your baloney again!?” “It’s not baloney......” Insisted Moa as he shivered. “I like to disassemble or repair machines. One time, I broke a music box my dad bought for me but was able to piece it back to how it was. So......” “Hmph, how could we believe what you say?” Captain Vul shook his head. Blade Knight nodded and said. “This is not an ordinary music box. It’s a real thing made in Halcandra, completely different from the toy you had.” “It’s my first time seeing a music box made in Halcandra, but I believe its structure is the same as any normal music box. So......” “It’s not your place to meddle in. Stay out of it!” “I want to be of help......” “We have no use for your help!” Meta Knight’s men were fierce in their anger. Their belief in his betrayal is as strong as how they worried about Moa from the bottom of their heart. And they weren’t the only ones who were deceived. He tried to take advantage of even the heart of Meta Knight who cares for his men. That was more unforgivable than anything. Turning red, Moa was about to back down with a tearful look. Seeing him, King Dedede opened his mouth. “Hmph, it’s lame to ramble on about water under the bridge.” Dedede Captain looked at Vul and the others with a disdainful look. “What did you just say!?” To Captain Vul who tried to talk back, King Dedede said bluntly. “Would it have been better if this fool actually went missing?” “......Huh?” Captain Vul and the others were startled. “We-We’re not saying that!” “Then isn’t it great? No matter how unpleasant it is, you could say that it isn’t as bad as a lackey-in-training going missing.” “Uhh......uhhh......?” Captain Vul and the others couldn’t say anything back. What Dedede said is right. Regardless of the circumstance, him coming back alive would be more preferable than that he was actually missing “Ugh......it feels like we’ve just had our arms twisted......” “King Dedede, you do have a way with words sometimes!” “I always have a way with words!” King Dedede turn to Moa. “Can you really put back the music box together?” “I’m not sure, but I’ll try.” Moa sat down and picked up the parts that were piled up.

“Yeah, it’s just as I thought. The structure is similar to the music box I have. I think I could repair this.” Moa was putting the parts together with skilled fingers. Surrounding Moa, everyone watched him and yelled in surprise. “You’re good with your hands.” “I thought you were just a cowardly liar of a boy, but you do have at least one redeeming quality.” “I was......” While piecing the music box together, Moa began sharing his story. “Very cowardly and withdrawn ever since I was young, so......I only found interest in breaking machines and repairing them.” “Hmph, so your assertiveness earlier was just a show?” Said Sword Knight mean-spiritedly, and Moa became dispirited. “......Yes. I thought Anything Controller was all I needed to not lose to anyone. I just wanted to be confident.” “You fool.” Rebuked Captain Vul. Axe Knight said. “Why did you think of something so absurd like making Galacta Knight yours? He's a warrior so dangerous that destroying a star is said to be a child’s play for him.” “I watched the movie and yearned after him.” Answered Moa bashfully. “The movie? You mean the one that says the Legendary Strongest in the Galaxy?” “Yes. I loved that movie and watched it a dozen times. Galacta Knight that appeared in the movie was really strong, cool, and was my admiration. I was completely wrapped up in the world of the movie......and came to wish......for Galacta Knight to become my servant......” Blade Knight sighed. “You were entertaining a foolish hope.” “But if Galacta Knight were to always protect me, everyone would respect me in fear, right? I’d get back on the jerks that always made fun of me, and become the greatest hero in the galaxy......was what I thought......but,” Moa shuddered in horror. “The real Galata Knight was nothing like the one in the movie. Galacta Knight from the mirror was powerful too, but the real thing was strong and scary beyond compare......” “Obviously.” “I was mistaken. I can’t possibly become strong by borrowing Galacta Knight’s strength. I saw Kirb’s battle just now and realized. ” Said Moa as he bent his back to focus on his work. “Kirb......you say......?” Questioned King Dedede skeptically, but Moa continued. “Kirb is so small and cute, but he fought so desperately against that frightening Galacta Knight and Lord Meta Knight. Not only that, but he also protected Sphere Doomer with himself as the shield. He must’ve been so scared, but Kirb never ran away......he’s so tiny and yet so admirable!” Moa is slowly moved to tears. “I was touched. I’m much bigger and stronger than him, and yet I only thought of how to rely and take advantage of others, being too scared to fight myself. I became ashamed of myself. Even Kirb who’s so small can fight so bravely......I too should have some courage......” “..................Hmmm?” Kirby stared in puzzlement. Everyone except for Kirby exchanged glances. They all whispered to each other

All that aside, they should keep his misunderstanding as it is, seeing how remorseful he is. Everyone exchanged looks and conformed their opinions. Captain Vul said. “Ah......ahem. So you saw Kirby......or Kirb......ehehe......giving his all and changed your mind?” “Yes. I want to take courage so that I don’t lose to Kirb.” “I’m sure you won’t ever forget that feeling.” Captain Vul and the Meta Knights still had mixed feelings about it, but their animosity toward Moa was receding little by little. It’s hard to forgive what he has done, but his remorse seems to be genuine. Besides, this plan of his stemmed from something so childish like admiring a hero in a movie. Having realized that, they couldn’t really be mad at him. “......I did it.” Moa raised his face. “Although I can’t really fix it since the outer case has been smashed up. But I think the main part will work like this.” Everyone peered into Moa’s hands. The music box which was broken into pieces is finely put back together. “You......You’re amazing!” “You did well, Moa.” Complemented by everyone, Moa at last smiled in relief. “Then let’s hurry up and play it.” Captain Vul winded up the spring and everyone strained their ears, but: No music was heard. “Hm? I can’t hear anything.” As everyone tilted their heads in puzzlement, Waddle Dee remembered and said. “Ah, come to think of it, the owner of the antique shop said that the music box made in Halcandra makes no sound.” “That’s what it was.” Nodded King Dedede in agreement. “He said that it’s head not through ears but through heart. I knew that it’s a defect.” “No, that can’t be true. Everyone should try listening to it with your hearts.” Everyone went quiet and waited for their hearts to be filled with music. ......However: “......Did you hear anything?” “Uhhh......I don’t think it reached my heart.” “Me too!” “Nothing resounded.” Everyone’s face became troubled. King Dedede lost his temper. “So it is a defect, isn’t it. I better take that store to task!” Sword Knight said to Moa. “Moa, wasn’t it that your repair failed? The Energy Sphere that Sphere Doomer ate!” “Aye, I see.” Captain Vul clapped his hands. “This music box isn’t complete without an Energy Sphere.” “But there isn’t any, sir. What should we do......” Sphere Doomer extended its wings toward Moa. “Huh......? What......?” Moa was confused, but Kirby said. “Give it the music box!” “S-Sure.” Moa held out the music box, and Sphere Doomer received it by holding it in its two wings. With it, Sphere Doomer’s body began to shine. The Energy Sphere that it swallowed is reacting to the music box. Captain Vul shouts. “Mm? What is that? The power of the Energy Sphere is pouring into the music box......?” “It’s complete-” Simultaneously as Moa whispers: Different melodies were heard in everyone's hearts. Kirby had a grin. What resounded in Kirby’s heart was a happy and cheerful melody like the finest of the sweets. King Dedede’s had a look brimming with energy. What resounded in his heart was a tune just like King Dedede, rich and valiant. Waddle Dee closed his eyes with rapt attention. A tune so warm and gente that he never heard until now was flowing only to Waddle Dee’s heart. And lastly, Moa opened his eyes widely and stood stock still. What resounded in his heart was a dark and sorrowful melody. As if depicting his lack of confidence and anxiety that he stomached up to this point. But the melody gradually quickened its tempo and changed to a cheerful tune. Moa felt like he was comforted by the music and wept. As everyone was lost in each of their music, Captain Vul spoke. “Everybody, did you hear it?” “Yessir.” Answered Axe Knight first. “A very encouraging melody echoed through my heart. The melody was very heroic and reminded me of the Halberd pushing its way through the dark universe.” “Me too.” Javelin Knight spoke up. “That’s strange. I was gonna say the exact same thing!” “Me too.” “Me three.” Sword Knight said. “Looks like we can all hear the same music!” Blade Knight nodded. “It means that our thoughts are one. Let’s go, everyone!” “Aye! All members, follow me!” Captain Vul took the lead and began running toward the palace. The Meta Knights, Sword Knight, and Blade Knight followed him as well. Those who remained kept listening to each of their music, but King Dedede came to himself. “This isn’t time to sit here like this. What happened to the extradimensional road?” Spear Doomer shines stronger and stronger, where the music box continues to play. With it, the space surrounding the music box began wavering. “Ahh......the extradimensional road is......!” Shouts Kirby. It’s the same as when Galacta Knight appeared. A star-shaped hole opened on the wavering space, and endless darkness was partially shown on the opposite side. Dedede is slightly surprised and delighted. “Alrighty, the road has opened! Let’s hurry up and defeat Galacta Knight! Then we seal him and send him back to that side!” But at that moment-a silver-colored figure flew out from the dark world. It is a new Sphere Doomer. It’s completely different from the purple Sphere Doomer that arrived first. Its whole body is silver-colored and is twice its size. “A grown-up Sphere Doomer, eh. I got it, it made its way after hearing the timbre of the music box......!” Shouts King Dedede. As though responding to his voice, the silver-colored Sphere Doomer suddenly flapped its wings vigorously. Its eyes that snapped open were filled with hostility. The purple Sphere Doomer was docile, but this is their original nature. They’re wild and like to fight. “Oh no, here it comes!” Simultaneously as King Dedede shouts, the silver-colored Sphere Doomer breathed cold air out.

Bending his body forward, King Dedede jumped aside and avoided the cold air by a hairbreadth. Waddle Dee didn’t make it, however. “AH!” Showered with an air cold enough to freeze even his screams, Waddle Dee became frozen in ice. “Waddle Dee!” Shouts King Dedede and Kirby at the same time. King Dedede clutched his hammer and went toward Sphere Doomer. “Like heck I’ll forgive you!” The king swings his hammer, and Sphere Doomer scatters stones of ice. The hammer’s attack was about to KO it, but its movement was faster. The stones of ice clung to King Dedede. His hammer held up, the king became frozen in ice just like Waddle Dee. Moa saw the spectacle and began trembling in fear.. Kirby shouts. “Run, Moa! You’re gonna get frozen in ice!” “K-Kirb......” With a pale face, Moa shook his head. “Y-Y-You should run. I-I fight here!” “Not a chance~! Hurry up and run!” “L-L-Leave it to me! I-I’ll buy you some time! Y-You should take that chance to run~!” Yells Moa with his voice trembling, spreads both his hands, and tries to fight against Sphere Doomer.
