I posted this on my Facebook four days ago, and it seems to have taken on a life of its own for a minute.

I thought I’d repost it, here:

I can not fathom the emptiness, the insecurity, the insatiable need for attention and validation, the staggering arrogance, the malevolence and total void of human experience that is Elon Musk.

He's the richest man on the planet. You can't go anywhere or do anything without interacting with something he's part of in some way. There are literal millions of people who uncritically worship him, in spite of overwhelming evidence that he's a douchebag. Some number of them will come after me, as they come after anyone who points at their naked emperor. They'll spend entire days going after me and people like me, slavishly serving a man who does not even know they exist. They are his army of fools, uncritically serving his every whim. And it still isn't enough.

He can have any material thing he wants, and he will *never* be happy or satisfied. He has no real friends. Every single person around him is either a viper, a parasite, or both.

So what does he do? He bullies and threatens and harasses and trolls and behaves like the weak, scared, insecure child he has always been. That's a tragedy for him, but it's dangerous for us. He doesn't care what he destroys or who he hurts as he chases this existential thing he cannot ever have.

You know the saying "hurt people hurt people"? He's a hurt person who is hurting our society, making people I care about less safe. The consequences of this one man's midlife crisis are global, and that terrifies me.

In a comment, about an hour later, I added:

You know what's really interesting is the tiny number of people who are attacking and harassing me are either typical right wing idiots who all spew the same garbage from behind their wraparound sunglasses, or these weird nerds who are DESPERATE to justify how toxic and cruel and destructive Elon Musk is. Like, nerds, listen to Old Man Wheaton, please. 

Don't hitch your wagon to Elon Musk. There are countless people who are amazing and genuinely good, who do all the things we wish we could do. Stop defending this piece of shit who would push you into a volcano without even learning your name, if it would save him half a second on his way to his next shitpost on $8Chan (formerly known as Twitter).He doesn't stand up to anyone. He doesn't stand up FOR anyone. He is not your champion. He's angry and chaotic and destructive, and you have to understand that the scorpion doesn't care who it stings.

Finally, I want to add two things: 1) It’s interesting to me that a lot of the people who came to my post to be dicks used a lot of MAGA language. It reminds me of this thing my friend says about concerts: the audience looks like the band. Of course there’s substantial overlap between the angry, hateful, terrified, cowards who support Trump and the same who Stan Elon Musk, and it’s real interesting to see it in action.

2) I haven’t used Twitter for years. I quit before it was popular (lol) because it was better for my mental health. I logged in once when my book was published, and I deleted all my tweets when he announced he was buying Twitter. When he took over and immediately amplified a conspiracy theorist, I made my account private. In a perfect world, I would delete my account entirely. But I have to keep it for reasons I hope I don’t have to explain. After I posted this on Facebook, it made its way around Twitter (still is, four days later, which is ... a thing that is happening) and when people went to look at my account, they saw that it was closed. As much of a fucking manbaby Elon Musk clearly is, he didn’t do anything to my account. In fact, the only reason he even knows I exist (if he does) is through a vanity search of his name. I locked my account on my own, and so should you.

Where/how do you get the ideas to make these super cute art? I love art but I basically copy others and I wanna have my own style.

What a nice question!! I could honestly write a book about this, but for now I'll keep it condensed. (maybe uhhhh a blog post later or smthn) ....Sorry it's long anyway lol

These are my thoughts as an independent illustrator/artist that has the time and freedom to create what I wish, keep that in mind. I can't vouch for what it takes to get through art school or build a portfolio for <specific thing X> cause I don't know shit about that, this is just for creating art that you love making.

✨️Developing a style ✨️

A lot of people talk about 'finding your style', but I'm personally an advocate of developing a style - and most importantly it being a process that never stops. Now I don't know how old/experienced you are, but especially when you are just getting into art (and with 'just' I mean years) it'll change a lot because you will be improving a lot!

Now for me personally, I've been busy ~finding a style~ since I was 10. And up to like 2 years ago (I'm now 28) I was frustrated I just wasn't able to find one. Every half year or so I'd try to get back into art "for real this time", stick to one medium and general style and/or subject, and within a matter of weeks become frustrated and then not draw for a good while. That style-mentality really took a toll on the fun I had in making art, but also stunted my own artistic development. I was restricting myself at a stage where I should be everything BUT. I told myself I wasn't good enough, not cut out to be a professional, wouldn't be able to sell myself if I couldn't stick to one thing, yada yada. Great mentality. I'm now in therapy!

Anyway, what broke me free of that was a promise I made to myself back in 2020. I told myself I would get back into making art, but this time, just do what feels fun *at any given moment*. Let go of the pressure. I didn't post to socials and just shared with my friends, and eventually started posting to my then very humble Twitter following. I liked Twitter, cause there wasn't the pressure that Instagram always gave me of having to have a perfect feed. So I drew digitally, I drew with pencils, did some painting, got oil pastels, tried collage. And those experiments all influenced one or another. That's been key for me. If I feel like I hit a creative wall, I just try another medium or another CSP brush or another app on my tablet. Just experiment with lines and colors and not worry about what ends up there. (it's usually cats) Creating like this kept the fun in it for me and I've created nearly every single day since then, and that too is key to style development: Create A LOT. Don't hyperfocus on one perfect piece when you can also create 4 good-enough pieces in the same time.

Now on the topic of copying: it's a natural thing to do. Just be responsible about it! (don't share on socials if you blatantly copy something. While it's a good method to learn certain techniques, it's something that should stay in your private sketchbook) Also be sure to study from many different places, don't fixate on just a couple of artists! Find what inspires you in real life: be it buildings or nature or animals or people or objects, and try to capture them in different ways: from realistic to just the basic shapes. You'll find out what kind of style and level of detail you're naturally drawn to soon enough. Creating your own visual library in your mind by drawing many different things is ultimately what will allow you to put your ideas to paper in a quick and intuitive way. Having a (cheap!) sketchbook that you don't show anyone but just goof around in and explore everything and anything is a very helpful tool.

✨️ Generating ideas ✨️

I get my ideas from SO many different places. Many of my cat paintings were actually created to deal with a strong emotion or feeling I was having at the time.

Now externally, I get a lot of inspiration from nature and from the place I live in. I used to live in a fairly urbanized area, but it wasn't until I moved to the country side with wide and far views that I saw daily that I started getting interested in drawing landscapes. I didn't draw a lot of cats until they were chilling in my garden everyday. When I lived at home I drew a lot of fish, cause my dad had an aquarium. What you see and observe everyday matters. Taking your camera or phone on a walk in the neighborhood and capturing small details is a great way to gather inspiration, even if the area is a bit boring. I have a Fujifilm X100F that I try to carry to most places I go, cause I can quickly photograph things and I like it better than phone photography.

I also draw a lot of ideas from the media I consume: shows, movies, games, comics, music... Sometimes it just hits that inspiration button and lights a lil flame that'll turn into an idea. I love the magical worlds Studio Ghibli creates for example and the soothing calmness that games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley have. Things like that just work their way into my art, often subconsiously.

I also draw what I yearn for: be it a doodle of a comforting hot bowl of soup when I crave it, or a beach scene cause I want to go for a beach walk. It's fun, and lets me daydream a little about things I maybe cannot have in that moment.

Another big thing is worldbuilding and storytelling: I have this fictional world in my mind that I desperately want to get out, and it will, piece by piece.

So yeah. There's many places to grab inspiration from. Writing down what inspired you is useful. Doing it every year or so is too, cause then you'll start to see trends and get a better understanding of what drives you. Cause in the end that's what's most important, I think: Find the things that ignite a flame in you and then let it out in a way that is fun and comforting to you. Don't worry about what other people are making or that you're not making what you 'should' make!

I hope this was somewhat helpful - it was fun to write at least, I have many thoughts about this :')

Army truly are selective when it comes to what's private and what is not, so a dude friend or ex-friend or whatever the fuck he is none of my business posts a picture (pretty sure it's one from when they were still friends if now they're no longer that) that he HAD to have taken it with consent for very obvious reasons, gets the backlash of his life, gets a whole ass drama, but a Viet student starting out innocently with the story of meeting JK, Mingyu and Eunwoo then later posting a picture taken WITHOUT CONSENT even pointed out who was who so basically fucking up JK's plan to keep his appearance change a surprise, that one got praised for sharing and people had no problem spreading the picture and cooing.

If JK was to speak about the IG dude and say that he is still a friend or fam or whatever i bet my ass that everybody who insulted him would delete their posts and start praising him too. Like.. Please pick a side, pick a damn struggle. It's either you're with or against and if you can't choose and extreme left or an extreme right then fucking stay neutral.

One thing i learned from the previous situation with Jikook is staying neutral as long as i don't know the full story, as long as i don't have any proven facts i can't just love or hate.

I know i'm making a big deal out of a small thing but this shit keeps on repeating itself, Army being hypocrites all the time, changing their opinion on the same shit and pretending their previous opinion never existed. It's okay to admit that you were wrong and that you'll do better but to pretend you were always a saint doing the right things.. Hell no.

When people, particularly queer people (like me) talk about censorship of fandom spaces inevitably leading to the purging of queer content, we're not pulling that concern out of our asses. It has happened Over and Over and Over and Over and Over again. It happened with fanfiction.net, with livejournal, with old-ass email lists and dinky web.1 sites and email lists made by tiny groups of people, it happened with tumblr, it even happened with youtube (the demonetization and soft-blocking of queer content, and when creators tried to appeal, they were told that their content was unsuitable for children (HMMMMMM))

There is a huge amount of historical precedent off of which to base the fear of censorship leading to the purging of queer content.

We're gonna put aside the dead horses of 'just because you write about something doesn't mean you endorse it in real life' and 'fiction =/= reality' (because I think those both often lack nuance when brought up in this conversation, and overlook some very real exceptions). Alright? We're not gonna beat those horses at all. Put them out of your mind.

I agree with you that real children having porn written about them is completely vile (honestly I hate rpf in general, but in the case of children it's especially reprehensible). I wouldn’t be sad at all to see underage fics be purged from AO3, honestly, if I thought there was a way to do that without it inevitably leading to queer content and queer creators being obliterated from the site. Which I don't, currently, because it's literally never been done.

The thing about associating queer content with csam (and pushing the 'vintage homophobia') is that QUEER PEOPLE AREN'T DOING IT. I keep seeing this come up like it's some blazing hot big-brain take, but it's just, incredibly fucking insulting. Knock it the fuck off with this asinine assertion that queer people are victimizing ourselves and bringing this association on of our own volition.

Take a look at any conservative twitter account (particularly conservative politicians) and count how many times they call queer folks (particularly trans folks, and especially trans women) 'groomers'. It's literally like, their big hot button issue right now, calling queer people pedophiles and groomers, and attempting to get legislation introduced which categorizes us as such

WE ARE NOT FUCKING DOING THIS. THEY ARE.

Okay so let's go on a little hypothetical journey, yeah?

You censor underage fics. Okay cool! What does that mean? Where's the line? What constitutes a child? Under eighteen? Under sixteen? The brain doesn't really stop developing until around twenty-five, so should that be considered the line? Is it still objectionable if both characters are underage? If both characters are, say, fifteen, and this fic was written by some horny fifteen-year-old who, whilst trying to figure out their own sexuality, just wanted to write about their blorbos fooling around, should that be purged?

When I was a teenager, I wrote about teenage girls being ravished by older men, because I myself was attracted to older men. Should I have been punished for that? Should my content have been deleted? It never felt like some mortal sin I should have to atone for; it was fantasy fulfillment through the safe space of fucking fanfiction.

If other teens do that, and post their fics online (because teenagers do indeed have a right to post their mature fics online if they want to), should they be required to divulge private information about themselves to justify their content existing? Should readers be required to divulge private information to verify their own teenagerhood before reading the fics, to prevent intergenerational cross-contamination? What if they lie? How would that be enforced? Is that even ethical, to force people to divulge actual, real life private information like that for the sake of keeping a fandom space 'morally pure'?

Moving on from that, let's say we somehow figure out how to purge only the truly morally bad and gross fics (which, to be sure, some of them are obvious and easy). Well, okay, but maybe while we're at it, we should go ahead and purge [insert additional objectionable content of your choosing here], because it also has no place in polite society.

And again, how do we draw that line? We could have that above back-and-forth conversation for every single morally objectionable category on AO3, and you will never find a solution that doesn't catch innocent people in the crossfire, nor will you ever find a solution that doesn't lead to further descent down the slippery slope of censorship

When conservatives (and yes, censorship is almost always inherently conservative) get a foot in the door of power, they do not stop. They might start with purging the obviously nasty and gross fics, but they will take it farther (and we know they will because again, this has already happened Over and Over and Over and Over). Queer content will inevitably, invariably, always be on the chopping block when censorship comes into play, because to conservatives, queer people are pedophiles just, inherently -- and thus our content is automatically categorized as csam or grooming material.

Sometimes the slippery slope is real. And there's heaps of historical and cultural precedent for this one in particular.

So like. I'm really solely concerned with queer content being purged, because I've literally watched it happen before, and I care more about queer rights, and queer content, and queer people in general, than I care about the murky morality of writing questionable fanfiction (which are, y'know, as a sidenote, nearly always appropriately tagged and warned for so as to be easily avoidable; the dead dove tag trend is a gift, actually)

AND..... this is all putting aside the fact that AO3 was never meant to be a moderated space in the first place. It's literally just an ARCHIVE, it's right there in the name. It has no morals of its own, nor any responsibility to bear such. It's like throwing your fic into a remarkably well-organized warehouse (perhaps, with bookshelves, and some sort of.... system to find what you want; I feel like we might have a name for these spaces in real life? but idk) and then peacing out.

I have a genuine question, why didn’t you just message the artist from the beginning? Like I understand where your comment came from but I feel like fandom is supposed to be fun and if you genuinely felt a micro aggression from their art you could’ve educated them. The reason people are hating is because of how you personally handled the situation from doubling down to not taking peoples criticisms seriously. I think if you weren’t interested in talking to the artist why bother posting the art? Maybe make a text post to gripe instead of including the actual art. i didn't message the artist from the beginning because my comment wasn't a callout post. there was nothing wrong with the art, it wasn't a microaggression or problematic or whatever. i said a pretty mild thing about their art on my own twitter specifically so the artist WOULDN'T see it because it wasnt constructive criticism, it was literally just me noting that i didn't like something. going to the artist and being like "HEY I DON'T LIKE THIS THING" would have been pretty stupid and pointless, which is why i made a separate post. but fsr this was taken as condemnation of the art/artist or me calling them evil or something?? i dont get why my opinion on it even mattered or why that shit blew up the way it did

i think this is a situation that we should all know ZERO about. idk who's team is leaking what, idk which one of them has someone in their inner circle that is leaking stuff for shits and gigs, but it truly has to stop.

it's sad enough that a marriage is ending, but there are two very young kids involved. hell joe and sophie were so private at one point that we don't even really know the name of their second kid. we rarely see their faces except the couples times either parent has taken them out in public (bc yes, prior to joe being paparazzied the day after the divorce was announced with his kids, that everyone deemed was a pr move/him calling them on himself, he and SHE has been photographed with them before. if you wanna argued he called the paps on himself, whatever. idc.).

all of the rumors that have swirled about sophie did not come from joe or his team, just inside sources, which basically anyone could be as long as they are six degrees of kevin bacon away from him (if not way more). he denounced all the rumors, both on his insta and at a concert where he literally said "if it didn't come from these lips, don't believe it". i personally believe he should have denounced things faster or more aggressively, but him and the rest of the jb crew have always been like snc - pretend drama doesn't exists and hope it just dies down.

but now sophie, who has been a private person for a long time, is going out of her way to say a lot of public things via her ppl and idk if i like that. part of it just feels like petty revenge, and it could very well be. and i get it, the rumors made her sound shitty, so i would get why she would tell the public that she didn't find out about the divorce until we all did and that joe is abducting the kids by not giving her their passports so she can take them back home with her. but let's listen to reality for a moment: first off, the kids are now with her in the US. they had been with joe for like three months while she was off working. second, joe physically can't allow the kids to leave bc he would be against the court order he made in florida where he filed for divorce bc he wants the judge in florida to create a plan so that the kids can see both him and sophie 50/50. but it sounds a lot worse when it sounds like he took the kids and won't let them go back home with mom, even tho they've lived a majority of their lives in the US. if you have an issue with the legality of it all, okay that's fine. but shitting on joe bc he won't break the law to look nice don't make no fucking sense. also i don't believe whatsoever that she found out at the same time we did about the divorce. unless joe hacked her instagram, no one forced her to post the same announcement about it as him.

i think the main problem is that this is becoming fandom drama and it's way more serious than that. this isn't some silly internet feud that went too far or some dumb beef between two random celebs. this is a family that is falling apart and ppl want to randomly throw taylor swift in there bc "omg soph is such a queen for hanging out with joe's ex" or whatever. like dear god touch grass, holy shit. i don't think either one of them are acting like an adult should. you have kids, keep all that shit private. i shouldn't know about your divorce as it's happening.

Nobody had expected Ozzie to dive into his love for Fizzarolli like a fish to water, but he’d decided that it was either ‘go big, or go home.’ If he did anything, it was with his whole chest, and this was no exception.

So whenever he felt like it, his love and affection showcased themselves in grand, blindingly bright gestures in public and private alike. While he’d never really been one for romance, he’d read his fair share of novels and the like, and so he had a few ideas on how it was supposed to work. He’d consumed a few old movies, a few things that he thought might otherwise help, and he thought he had it pretty well figured out. After all, what was love but lust for someone’s entire being? It wasn’t that difficult. Right?

Rich, spiced votive candles and the heads of mauve carnations were spread throughout the house, starting at the head of the basement stairs and leading Fizzarolli towards the bedroom. He followed the exaggerated hearts that pointed him along the path, took in the time, effort, and care that was only being exhibited in this kind of gift, and luxuriated in the knowledge of what it was. Ozzie didn’t do this mushy lovey dovey shit for just anyone, after all. Just his Olli Baby.

Creaking open the bedroom door, he noticed, first and foremost, that the door to the toy room (otherwise known as the Bots’ bedroom) was closed and presumably locked. The second thing he caught was the smell of rich, dark chocolate and the sight of Asmodeus, nude and perfect, splayed out on the bed. It took him a couple of quick strides to cross the darkened room lit only by the candles placed in key points around it and climb onto the bed.

“All of this for me?” A buttery grin crossed his lips, and he winked at his lover when he offered a mock-demure smile, batting his eyes. It was always so cute watching all three heads look at him like that, and he felt his heart skip a beat. Before he and Ozzie had told each other their feelings, he had always been worried about that, but apparently, it wasn’t a medical issue, after all.

“You know I’d do anything for you,” Ozzie responded, maybe a bit too quickly, and he leaned in to lick at Fizzarolli’s cheek, then the seam of his lips. Olli had always thought that way about Ozzie, and it was odd to think that he’d felt the same way this whole time, “I got your favorites, too. Strawberries, cherries, and mangoes. All cut up and ready for you.” Well, the mangoes and strawberries were cut appropriately, at least. He wasn’t usually one to bother with pitting cherries for something like this.

The fruit looked plump and juicy, and Fizzarolli salivated just at the sight of it. His hips wiggled a little bit as he looked over the array, little pink and green heart plates loaded up with each fruit, and the clear glass bowl that held the chocolate all looking positively perfect pressed near Ozzie’s body. It was almost like he was going to be dessert, and not the deep red cherries, the beautiful nearly pink strawberries, or the bright, shining orange mango slices. Already, the imp was salivating.

“You got all this from the human world?” Tilting his head a little in curiosity, he purred as he watched Ozzie dip a strawberry in the warm chocolate sauce at the bend of his elbow. Swirling it in the dark chocolate, he twirled it a few times once he’d pulled it out to stop it from dripping.

“Just for you. I don’t know if you know what day it is, but I don’t forget these things.” Ozzie had more than one head for dates, after all. Olli knew this well, “C’mere, Olli Baby.”

A little apprehensive at the idea that he’d forgotten something important, Fizzarolli scooted over on his knees and let the other feed him with a low moan. His tail whipped behind him a couple of times as he let the soft give of the strawberry flesh melt over his tongue, blinking his eyes open after a moment as he chewed. Ozzie looked so good like that, framed in the soft orange light flickering throughout the room. Soft eyes locked with his own and something hit him like a freight train that he couldn’t deny.

Ozzie was going to get his brains fucked out for this. Nobody had ever been so sweet to him, had ever cared this much to do something so grand and well-planned, and it was the most romantic thing he could think of. As such, he was going to give Ozzie the most lustful display he could.

That was going to have to come after he sucked more of the fruit off of Ozzie’s fingers, though, because it was too fucking good to pass up.

okay! so this tells me a number of things, though

basically the minute that Hawks learned about One for All, he realized that anyone connected to Deku (e.g. Inko) would be a target for AFO. AFO wants OFA, meaning AFO wants Deku, and one of the easiest ways to get to Deku would be to target his family

Hawks therefore realized that Inko needed to be placed into protective custody

but the fact that ALL of the hero course students’ families (and is it only the U.A. hero course, or all of the hero course students across the country?) are being given protection tells me that Hawks and co. don’t want to single Deku out as being important. so then it looks like they’re not going to tell everyone about OFA (or at least not the public. which, good). so rather than drawing suspicion by saying “we’ve got to protect everyone connected with this one kid”, they’re making it seem like all the U.A. kids’ families are getting this treatment

but since the heroes are now spread so thin, they can’t just send a protective detail to each and every family, so they’re bringing all of the families to the same place instead to better keep an eye on them

so that’s all well and good, and a very smart move. except that idk how all of this is going to go over with the general public, all of whom are probably feeling unsafe at the moment, and who will probably see this as preferential treatment -- basically just the heroes looking after their own and leaving everyone else to fend for themselves

I swear to God, these copy pasta anons have me so on edge that every time I see an anon saying they’re losing their faith in cockles or whatever I just think they’re an undercover anti or something. So here’s the thing, I think Jensen’s been a lot more active on social media purely because of business. He’s posted about and commented on his new co workers’ instagram posts a lot lately. It’s obviously for pr and that’s ok, in fact I think until two weeks ago, most of his interactions with J@red were about w@lker, and then the fallout drama happened and now he’s going out of his way to show that he and the overgrown man-child are ok again, it’s actually a little funny. He doesn’t really need to do that anymore with Misha, as of now they won’t be in any new projects together (that we know of) but he still makes a point of liking Misha’s posts, even ones that made me raise an eyebrow, like the bloody shirt one or the 4th of July one. Besides we know Jenmish like to keep their business private. Technically speaking, they don’t really need to interact anymore because they’re just former coworkers to the outside world, I don’t think they’ll rock the boat and go out of their way to flirt on social media, especially because a lot more people are zooming in on their relationship lately. But like I said, they like to mostly keep their shit private, it’s been proven to us many times. The whole “Vicki helped me move in with a friend” business,and then it turns out that friend was Jensen all these years later, or all the times that they hung out outside of work that we only find out about later on, the latest example being that ridiculously couple-y picture where they’re holding their coworker’s new baby in a hospital. My point is, Jenmish will be perceived by us when they want to be perceived by us. We don’t really have a way of knowing how much they’ve kept in touch, but based on things like “ok babe” or ‘blanygate’ as some like to call it, I’m guessing they’re doing just fine.

What's interesting is that he rarely comments on Misha's photos and he even has a particular way in which he likes Misha's posts.

As for him and JP, yes I think it's for PR to show everything is okay. I think he wants to put all the bs behind him being that he's doing a spn prequel and spn is based on the premise of family. He and JP have been branded as family for so long so much so that that's all there ever will be. I also believe they made up and are still friends but that tantrum JP threw put an extra strain on their friendship.

Speaking of PR. Jensen has liked all of Clif's posts from June. Nothing in that is weird per se, but he rarely likes his posts. What's even more interesting is that Clif always tags JP, Gen, Jensen and Dee on his posts( why does he do that though? It's a bit odd. Also do you remember when Clif's brother was hating on hellers and cockles shippers on twitter last year and Speaking on behalf of the Ackles and Dee said he doesn't even know who he is and should stop spaeaking on behalf of her family?)
