26 ASKS! THANKS EVERYONE! 🥰✨
Tumblr media
Me too man. But my mental and physical health is kind'a tanking atm. I just don't have the energy to pick up a passion project of that scale right now..
If you're patient and stick around though, we're bound to see more of my FNAF security breach AU someday.. Once I can get on top of all this crap I'm dealing with-
Tumblr media
I AM restingggg 😫 I haven't left my home for any significant amount of time for like 3 weeks- I cant rest any harder! XD
Tumblr media
@beryl-shade
Google seems to suggest that an oreo cookie character already exists. "Prime Oreo Cookie" I believe..? :0

They are different repair guys, and they both do not have a name.. 😔
Tumblr media
@lobitowhiteeliaz
Not quite sure what you're asking.. so I'll just answer in multiple ways!
My favorite movies of all time are Pixars cars 1 and 3. I cannot watch either without crying 😭 they are my absolute favorites and I hold them very close to my soul 💖
Still to this day, even after all this time, Gravity Falls is my top favorite show. Despite all the cringe I made for it back in the day- it still holds up as my most beloved show I've ever drawn about.
As for fandom, like the people? I thiiiink the FNAF fandom was my favorite to interact with..? I remember a lot of interaction with the fans in general, which meant a lot to me :)
Tumblr media
Bibi and Cici are just odd little critters XD though Bibi is very cat-like in nature and Cici is based on a mouse :0
I'm not sure how they feel about being dolls. I'd assume they don't really mind it! XD
Tumblr media
Not sure what you mean but I assume you're right XDD
Tumblr media
@something3706
Thank you! Though I don't take requests, sorry!
Tumblr media
She is indeed a kid, but that's becuase all I had to go off of was her info picture and fanart I saw of her. For some reason a lot of art I saw of Sally depicted her as this total gremlin character that's always getting into trouble.
So I thought hey! Why not make it so she fell to "Earth" as a little tot and was raised by Poppy? In present day she could be like 13-15 and her chaotic energy would make sense and be fun to mess with!
Though after watching GTlive do a vid on the Halloween update, I realize that I wrote her personality completely wrong. Sooo I miiight need to rework her entire story and character- whoops! <XDD
Tumblr media
Considering Sally is gonna need some restructuring, I'm not sure where Poppy stands atm-- <:DD
Tumblr media
@fawncr33k
I saw your comment on a post that shows you now know the answer to this- but just to clarify it for everyone else!-
Octo and Seafoam are not gay, nor a couple. Seafoam's heart belongs to Blue Beauty! Him and Octo are just friends/brothers.
Also thank you! :DD I'm honored!
Tumblr media
@neo-metalscottic (Post in question)
AAAA Thank you!! :DD I've very glad you like them! :D And I'm not sure how a meeting with the pirates and cowboys would go.. its funny though becuase a lot of Canned Tuna's design was copied from Canned Beans cookie. Even the name! So if they ever met maybe they'd have a stand off XDD
I haven't thought much about how the Captain would react.. maybe the Vegimals are something he just cant wrap his head around and chooses not to talk about it XDD
BUT CALICO JACK!! SEEING VEGIMALS BEFORE?? WHY HAVEN'T I THOUGHT OF THAT!! The Vegimals could be these huge fish creatures when they grow old! And Jack could have SEEN ONE/HEARD OF THEM BEFORE!! Why didn't I think of that?? XDD I'll have to draw something like that sometime!!
Tumblr media
@yourstrulylightstar283
Thank you so much!! :D My favorite Donkey Kong game has to be the only one I've ever played, the original Donkey Kong Country!
I also loved Diddy Kong racing, though I see that it doesn't count <XD
Tumblr media
@astaherussy
I've heard of Hazbin Hotel, and Helluva boss. I saw the Hazbin pilot ages ago and have seen some episodes of Helluva.. Though they're not really my taste.. <:/
Tumblr media
@badlyblurry (Post in question)
:D Thank you! Now I didn't really do any proper research after the fact so I hope the Octonauts info is accurate! <XDD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THANK YOU!!! :DDD

@djh4l0v3rv3r
I think Poppy Playtime it pretty neat! Though I haven't seen a playthrough of chapter 3 yet so I haven't formed an opinion on the smiling critters. :0 Other than their smiles are WAY too big and creepy XDDD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Holy cow.. what a crazy read! I'm not much of a gamer myself but I have GOT to watch somebody play this! :00 Thank you for the info! :D
Tumblr media
@raptor1312
WAIT THIS GAME WAS ON THE WII?? I was thinking it was a fangame made for PC??? Like on steam?? ITS A LEGIT RELEASE?? WHAT???

@nunyabusiness459
AAAA I'm so glad you're interested in him! Uuuunfortunately,, looking back it seems the only artwork I have of Melvin is just a bunch of strange angst for no good reason-
Tumblr media
So I'm afraid I don't really have any artwork to share,, and most of the story has already been told.. but this ask makes me want to come back to Melvin sometime! Maybe expand on his story more, or just draw him again in general!
So thank you for the ask/interest, perhaps we'll see more of Melvin someday! :D

Happy New Year.
It was a pretty good year for my gaming hobby and being a Nintendo fan. As usual, I did spend a majority of the year just replaying games I loved, but there were a few new, and new-to-me games that I played this year.
Around this time last the year I was on a Rare kick, playing through all the Donkey Kong Country trilogy, DK64, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo Kazooie, and Conker. and Mark Kurko's Snowglow Village remake, and this spilled into January.
The Rare stuff also lead to a N64 kick in general, as I found a few decent Mario 64 hacks that worked on real hardware, and I also finished a run of Kirby 64 I started a few years ago and abandoned close to the end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I managed to make it through a short and easy but very charming Fievel Goes West platformer on SNES. I've got a lot of nostalgia for Fievel so, no regrets there.
I started going back and fourth between The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, and Banjo Kazooie - the Jiggies of Time, and it was interesting to visit areas of the game as Link only to come back to them as Banjo, this also marked the first time I ever replayed a full length romhack from start to finish.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I picked up several Super Mario World romhacks. Some of them worked out, others didn't, either because of romhack difficulty or hardware incompatibility, but it really was kind of a Mario year for me.
Smash Remix got some amazing updates adding Marina, King Dedede, and Goemon, among other things. I can't wait to see where else that game goes. But speaking of Smash Bros, I also discovered the Akenia build for Super Smash Bros Melee, and I was thrilled to play that game with some characters that came later in the series like Lucas, Diddy Kong, Charizard, Sonic, and Wolf.
And I cleared two Gameboy games for the first time, Donkey Kong Land, and Final Fantasy Adventure, hopefully I can get to their sequels in 2024.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From there I marathonned a ton of Mario games... the SNES version of Super Mario RPG ( little did I know a Switch remake would get announced later this year ), New Super Mario Bros U, Mario Kart 8, which I managed to get 3 stars on every cup and every difficulty rating, Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros DS, and Super Mario Odyssey, all in preperation to hype myself up for the Super Mario Movie which, against all odds, was fun as hell and filled my little Mario fanboy heart with joy.
Also found mods for Wario Land and Donkey Kong Country returns that made both games far more enjoyable to me. Wario's default walking speed was increased, and Donkey Kong Country's motion controls were mapped to buttons.
Revisited Sonic Riders again, and sadly kind of realized it was not as good as I remembered, having only two grand prix that are largely copy pastes of each other with different lighting. Still prefer the concept of those games than sticking Sonic in a car though.
I discovered a pretty amazing Ocarina of Time hack called the Sealed Palace, which is a it obtuse, but still very good, and I really need to get back to it, I had nearly finished it but went on a hiatus when other things caught my attention. Will finish it in 2024 hopefully.
And one of the big highlights, I finally became the proud owner of an NES. My family had one as a child but it was more for my parents than for me. I mostly played NES games via Nintendo's re-releases or emulation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Among the games I played for NES, the whole Mario trilogy, Zelda, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, Final Fantasy 1, Dragon Quest 1, Metroid MOTHER, Kid Icarus, Super Mario Bros 3+, Mega Man 2, Kid Icarus, Duck Hunt, and I started up Final Fantasy 2, but have yet to finish it.
And in April I went to Super Nintendo Land. The experience was slightly soured for me but I had fun and got some cool merchandise. The actual ride was a little underwhelming though, and I didn't even get to go to the Toad Cafe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In anticipation for the Legend of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom, I replayed Link's Awakening, and Breath of the Wild, had a great time with both of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then Tears of the Kingdom came along and completely absorbed my life for two months. I still miss playing it. Maybe i'll replay it sometime in 2024? It'll be interesting to see if my opinion changes at all, but so far, this one is in my top 3 Zelda games. It's not perfect, but honestly, mention any Zelda game to me and I can give you a laundry list of flaws for each of them, so a Zelda game not being perfect is old news. But it doesn't make them any less great. I think this one is just contentious because 1. it took 6 years, 2. purists of the old Ocarina Cone style of Zelda games are worried that they'll never enjoy Zelda again. They have my sympathies but honestly I don't ever want to go back to the old style of Zelda unless it's for a 2D game.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I actually tried to give Skyward Sword another try, I bought the Switch version, but like with every attempt to replay that game since it's launch, I just find myself really irritated by all the exposition that I just quit playing early on.
Against my better judgement I bought Sonic Origins Plus on Steam, and it has some performance issues. I really didn't need it, I love that Amy is playable but I kind of prefer her Sonic Advance move set, which fans had already modded into the genesis games. I think i'd rather just get an actual Sega Genesis to play these games on someday.
I finished raising every single digimon on my Digimon Version 20th v-pet, which is essentially like completing the "pokedex" but for digimon. Sadly not every virtual pet tracks that information, so I won't get to attempt that again.
There was a double dose of Ninja Turtles with TMNT II the Arcade game for NES and Shredder's Revenge on the Switch, I think a certain movie came out around this time of year that put me into a Turtle frenzy because I also started watching the cartoon around that time of year.
I am not mentioning every little NES game or hack I play but I want to higlight two excellent Zelda hacks called the Legend of Banjo and the Legend of Super Mario, which are exaclty what they sound like, Zelda 1 but with a Banjo Kazooie and Super Mario makeover respectively, both are very well designed and arguably a lot more friendly to players that aren't experts at Zelda 1, and do a great job at selling the illusion that they're intended to be Mario and Banjo games.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of my big regrets for the year was Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3, Slime Speedway, which I bought because 1. I was done with the Mario Kart DLC and wanted more racing game, and 2, I was on a nickelodeon kick and was hyped up from the pre-release of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.
Slime Speedway is just not very well made. I am generally accepting of low FPS but two genres of games that shouldn't have them are racing games and fighting games. And it's very sad because I feel like NKR3 could be one of the better Mario Kart clones if it was better optimized and had less annoying sound clips... Nickelodeon All Star Brawl 2 was a good game but my hype deflated when I learned it would be cutting ELEVEN characters. Also the Switch version performs like ass but I really wanted to be able to take it to a friends house, so I didn't do the smart thing and buy it on Steam.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
October is usually when I do my month long Halloween celebration of only consuming spooky media. But Nintendo and Sega had the nerve to plan big Mario and Sonic releases that month, interrupting my plans. But I did manage to slip in some spooky gaming, with Luigi's Mansion, an Evil Dead hack of Wanpakku Grafitti: Splatterhouse, and a Super Mario World Halloween hack, as well as a Kirby Halloween romhack. There was also the promising Super Mario 64 hack - Super Mario and the Monstrous Manor, but it seemed to lose it's spooky flavoring half way through, so I put it on pause for now and will come back to it in 2024.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't need to say much about Super Mario Wonder. It was wonderful. Easily the best 2D Mario in decades. It can definitely stand toe-to-toe with the original NES trilogy and Super Mario World. But Sonic Super Stars on the other hand? It's fine, but the bosses suck ass, especially the final boss, who isn't even interesting since it's just the Sonic 3 and Knuckles final boss again but without the Doomsday Zone sequence.
Super Mario RPG came out in November and it was a delight. My second time playing the game that year, I never would have seen it coming in a million years, but i'm so happy that it did. I already want to replay it.
I was put into the mood for Square RPGs, something I always felt like I missed out on growing up. So I started up Final Fantasy IV, which I played before, but never finished. I need to get back to it but I am officially at the point where I stopped playing last time, about to storm some tower in the underworld while the red wings are being distracted by tanks.
In December I started feeling Donkey Kong again and played the first two DKC games, and a few levels of Tropical Freeze, I thought i'd finally try out that new Funky Mode. I then realized that I was playing the exact same games around this time of year last year. Pure coincidence, but I do kind of want to play the rest of the Rare platformers...
I bought my first ever Mario sports game in Mario Tennis Aces, and I had a blast with it, though the adventure mode was surprisingly difficult, I have also bought Kirby and the Forgotten Land but have not really dug into it much. I guess my appetite for Kirby isn't what it used to be, that and my mood lately has been mostly on Mario. Maybe I should finish Yoshi's Crafted World, I got that in 2022 and have not played it at all this year...
Mark Kurko did his annual Christmas Romhack for Banjo Kazooie. I played it on Christmas Eve, and on Christmas Day, I replayed all his past romhacks. I think I might make that a new tradition, to replay all the christmas BK hacks, and whatever else I have. I found a decent Mario 64 Christmas hack as well, though it's only a single level.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And to cap off the new year, I started up a run of Animal Crossing for the Gamecube. I've been at it for a week and a half now. I am curious to see how long I can keep it up. But I have already found two NES games, and I kind of want to see if I can get the whole set and build an NES arcade in my basement, just like old times.
There's not much for me to look forward to in 2024 as far as I know, just the Mario vs Donkey Kong and Paper Mario TTYD remakes really, as I'm not too interested in the Peach game. But I hope we get some exciting announcements. I just am not ready for that announcement to be a Switch 2, I'm so tired of buying new machines.

Three in One Post
For a Response to my P-Pal
Me 🇺🇲: Yeah my Social Club always likes to craft something random. Even if I had to do some Holiday Crafting or bulletin crafting. Because Bulletin board crafting is very common. But not for long because I'm gonna go Bowling on Thursday since Bowling is the sport I'm very good at. And also for the response for the Post, I'm sure the Speedsters would love to play with the Ramcats and Rabbits Nintendo 64 depending which game they like to play. But I would imagine a 90s drawing, Debby, Paul, Windy and Scottie play the Nintendo 64 a lot since all they would do is play Mario Kart. But all that Debby would always play is Dr. Mario 64 on Nintendo 64 which I know didn't come out until 2001. After Paper Mario, Pokemon Stadium 2 and Conker's Bad Fur Day. And before Mario Party 3 was released. So I bet the Speedsters would enjoy playing the Nintendo 64 with the Ramcats and the Rabbits. And also, I hope the Tikis we know in Donkey Kong Country Returns won't try and do anything chaotic with their hypnotic music. Even since I wanted to craft something random for the Luau Party. Which I'm sure the Speedsters and Maxwell and Friends would enjoy after the Tikis get defeated.
And for my A-Pal's On this Day Post.
I do remember Shovel Knight since it has become popular and that's why Nintendo wanted to make an Amiibo of Shovel Knight. And I know for Smash Bros., Shovel Knight became very common for the Assist Trophy, and I bet he would make a perfect summoner. Even Maxwell and Sam can use the Shovel Knight Card as either helping or Summoning. Because each Assistant Trophy becomes a Card, depending if you want it to be Independent, Help you or to summon.
And for my P-Pal's On this Day Post
I bet Spot and Riya are sure to enjoy eating so much junk and sweets, which I know Shadow and Lisa would do the same, after some Ballet of course. Or we can have the four as well as for Luna once they get chubby, they be like "Ah this is the life! Food, Sweets, Games, Sunshine, and not a care in the world!" And I know it would be something like in Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, which I know is a big letdown on the Xbox 360 and I know Luna wasn't a fan of either. Even since she does love playing versions of the Rareware Titles. Same for Lisa and Maxwell and Scottie. But it's nice for Microsoft to offer Nintendo to put some of their titles onto the Nintendo 64 on Switch. And I hope they can put some of the Rareware Titles onto the Nintendo Switch Online on Nintendo 64. Like Donkey Kong 64, and Diddy Kong Racing. Maybe Banjo Tooie should be next even since I usually play the Two Banjo Kazooie games on my Xbox since it does Auto saving. I always love video games where they Auto Save.

Did you play Ocarina of Time on release and do you still feel it deserves all the praise it got then even now?
I did not play Ocarina of Time at release, but I suppose it was probably close enough. A quick rundown of all the game consoles I had (since I just typed this out somewhere else recently):
Started with an Atari 5200 handed down from an Aunt in the mid-80's
Mom got us an NES in 1988 with SMB1 using her tax return
Older brother got a Genesis in 1991, took it with him when he moved out that same year
Begged for a Genesis of my own, got a SNES for Christmas in 92
Finally got my own Genesis in 1994
Mom dragged me to Bingo Nite in 1996, I won enough to buy a Sega Saturn
Became entranced by Final Fantasy VII and Parappa, got a Playstation for Christmas 1997
Brother sent me $200 for Christmas in 1999, bought a Dreamcast
My Mom got me a hot pink N64 for Christmas in 2002
Brother sent me $200 for Christmas in 2004, bought a Gamecube
Won a Gametrailers competition in 2006, bought a PS2, DS, and Xbox 360
Won a Microsoft giveaway in 2010, sold part of the prize and bought a Wii
Went halfsies with TSSZ to buy a Wii U to review games for the site in 2013
My "Definitive Way to Play Sonic Adventure" video blew up enough that I bought a PS4 in 2017
My "Definitive Way to Play Sonic 3" video paid for my Switch in 2019
When I got the N64, my Mom got a BOATLOAD of used games with it. In terms of "opening a new game console on christmas morning" it was maybe the best one of those I ever had. As I recall, she got me Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Perfect Dark, Donkey Kong 64, Pokemon Stadium (with GB adapter), Diddy Kong Racing, and Ocarina of Time. Seven games, when most of the time, I only had one or two games with a new console.
Ocarina of Time came out in, what, 1998? 1999? And I think I ended up playing it in 2002 or 2003. So not exactly in the moment, but close enough.
In the moment, maybe I was swept up by the zeitgeist, because I loved it. It was everything I hoped for and more. Fun and cool and creative, though it should be noted it was a game I slowly worked my way through over the course of a year. I specifically remember tracking it down to where I finished it within a week of starting it almost exactly one year later. It was maybe one of the first games I can remember owning where it was something I slowly chipped away at.
A few months before Breath of the Wild came out in 2016 I was gripped by Zelda fever and I think I happened to find Ocarina of Time 3D on sale for like $15. Knowing how rarely Nintendo games go on sale, especially for that cheap, I jumped on it.
Replaying it on the 3DS I found the game to be very, very, very slow. If you know me, I complain loudly about how sluggish Twilight Princess was. Revisiting Ocarina of Time on the 3DS showed me it isn't much better. Though it lacks a lot of the slow diversionary stuff that bogs down TP's pacing, it's still an incredibly slow, plodding game, with long stretches of tediously watching Link push rocks or whatever. I had to force myself to finish it, which just reminded me how long it took to finish the N64 version originally.
I still don't want to say it's a bad game, but I would not say it still retains the "greatest game ever made" moniker people used to give it.

Conker’s Bad Fur Day is a cult classic, a staple of the Nintendo 64 library and I want to throw it out the window.
Ok, maybe that’s going overboard, especially considering how expensive an original copy is. To say that Conker’s BFD was a less-than-stellar experience for me is an understatement. After completing my 14-hour playthrough, I was left bummed out and disappointed - thanks in part to the unbelievably depressing ending.
I understand why it’s a  cult classic - it’s got a lot going for it, but after years of hype and top 10 lists and accolades, I just don’t feel that it’s up there with the likes of Super Mario 64 or Donkey Kong 64.
Tumblr media
“Blasphemy!” you say, “Heresy!” you say “You’re talking out of your rear-end!” you say, but that’s physically impossible, sir. I have my reasons and I think they’re justified. Does it mean you should hate the game too? Absolutely not. Play what you enjoy - this is simply a recital of my personal experience and at the end of it all, this is one guy’s opinion.
Tumblr media
So let’s start with the good stuff. Conker’s BFD is a very good-looking game graphically, and I adore the sound effects in this game - walking through mud/poop is like ASMR to me. The juxtaposition of a foul-mouthed, drunken squirrel with a cutesy, cartoony backdrop is funny at times and when the humor is good, it’s good. While a majority of the humor fell flat with me, there is some clever humor sprinkled throughout. I enjoyed the fourth-wall breaking stuff, the way stacks of cash would insult you in a Brooklyn-esq accent, the references to R-rated movies are pretty fun as well.
Some of the levels have enjoyable gameplay. The Mighty Poo boss-fight and the gladiator-style caveman fight kept me playing, when I felt like tapping out. For better or worse, there’s a fair amount of variety here, ranging from platforming segments to third-person shooter, to puzzle-solving.
Tumblr media
That sounds pretty good as I type it out and it gives me fond memories of the short times I enjoyed Conker’s BFD - then I remember the bad stuff. A big turn-off from the get go was the cynical humor. I know comedy is subjective - I watched “Joker” too but as a 30+ year-old man, my days of forcing myself to laugh at gore and mean-spirited humor are long in the past. Watching a cow crap like a fountain before being blown into bloody chunks or having the top of Conker’s head being sniped off with a fountain of blood accompanying it isn’t funny. Being that this dropped in 2001, Rare was definitely gunning for the South Park audience - which was white hot at the time.
Tumblr media
Performance issues are a big problem in crucial moments. BFD looks awesome and for the most part plays ok. If there’s a lot going on onscreen however, expect the framerate to nearly rival that of a slideshow. The worst example I can point to from the top of my head is the “Saving Private Ryan” stage near the end of the game. The rockets and gunfire slow the action down to a crawl, while the enemies spawn out of nowhere to destroy you in one quick blast. Speaking of...
Tumblr media
Conker is pretty underpowered for the most part. You can’t upgrade your health so from start-to-finish you have six hits of life. Fall damage is ridiculous too and it’s very easy to take damage from falling even if you use your tail to float down. However, lives are easy to acquire and checkpoints are reasonable so it’s not an impossible game. It can be difficult, especially the dreaded  “Saving Private Ryan” stage as mentioned.
I think next to the humor, the biggest flaw in BFD is just the gameplay. I mentioned the variety, but it isn’t variety in the same way as Banjo-Kazooie or Donkey Kong 64 where things feel different but cohesive - Its variety feels like they started with one idea to abandon it for the other. The “context” power-ups support that claim, where you only have power-ups related to whatever is going on in that stage. A clever humor device, but not an empowering video game mechanic. Is it really that hard to let me freely roam the land with a flamethrower and a shotgun? Why wait until I hop on a stupid “B”?
Tumblr media
Conker’s Bad Fur Day could’ve been so much more in my eyes. A little more thought put into the gameplay, scale the humor back to PG-13 territory who, knows what kind of heights it would’ve reached? From here on I’ll choose to remember Conker fondly as the little squirrel who was fun to race as in Diddy Kong Racing. I’m interested to check out his Game Boy Color game to see what could’ve been. As far as Bad Fur Day goes, I’ll probably never play it again. I know it’s a classic in the minds of many, but this kind of stuff just isn’t for me.
I’ll leave off with a question: If a sequel was made today, would you want to see them continue in the direction of Bad Fur Day, or take a more traditional platforming mascot route?

Some Thoughts on Star Fox as a Series
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: This is a post mostly focusing on the gaming aspect of Star Fox, not really the lore and characters.  I think when a lot of people in the fandom talk about the series’s future, they hone in on the story and characters but I wanted to talk more or less about the series as games, not really as a story.
I remember when the first rumors of Star Fox Grand Prix came out and I was frankly a bit bummed.  I’m very lukewarm on racing games in general, having only really enjoyed Wave Race, Mario Kart, and Diddy Kong Racing out of the few I’ve tried out.  I wanted a follow up to Zero, since I felt dissatisfied by it overall.  I felt like it was halfway done and that it failed to breathe in that bit of life into the series that was desperately needed.  A racing game for the series felt... really weird, and part of it still does, but the more I dwelled on it, the more I realized that... sure, Grand Prix wasn’t what anyone had expected but maybe it wasn’t a bad thing?
And then, funnily enough, I thought back when I was a kid and when Star Fox Adventures came out.  A lot of people were very upset.  I was not one of them because I had been immersed at a very young age to the idea that some games in certain series just play differently.  Mario was always bopping between tennis, racing, party games, 2D platforming, RPG style gameplay, and 3D adventure jams.  Donkey Kong went from throwing barrels to 2D platforming to racing and to having his own 3D adventure.  Kirby went from 2D platforming to racing and even to fighting games.  It made sense to me that Fox McCloud could do the same.  And that leads me to my main “point” of this post.
I think it’s perfectly okay for the Star Fox series to step away from the spaceship shooter genre.
Don’t get me wrong-- I know that the heart of the series we’ve seen so far has been a on-rails shooting or all-range mode shooting.  But I think sometimes we (using this loosely for certain bits of the fandom) hyper fixate on Star Fox needing to be based on vehicular combat and maybe that sort of mentality is still the result of backlash from Adventures all of those years ago.  A lot of Star Fox fans were upset because of Adventures because it didn’t stick to their expectations of what would naturally evolve after SF64.  And they were absolutely correct to be surprised and maybe a bit upset (some people took it overboard but I applaud their passion, I guess).  Star Fox Adventures was not the natural sequel to the beloved SF64.  Assault fit the bill for that, building upon on-foot fighting teased in the Versus mode of SF64 and going back to a rails/all-ranged mode series of levels rather than a more open and explorable world.
That being said, I don’t... necessarily think that Star Fox Adventures was a mistake or a bad idea.  In fact, I actually think that an adventure-style subseries would work really well for Star Fox as a franchise.  In fact, I think there’s a lot they could do with the series in terms of branching out from the typical on-rails style spaceship shooter.  Having a racing game with a story and with boss fights (like what was rumored of Grand Prix) actually sounds like the fun Diddy Kong Racing sequel everyone kinda wanted.  Sure, Adventures was put together in a very rushed fashion, but why not actually invest in adventure-style series of games for Fox McCloud?  He’s a mercenary, after all, and I doubt every mission he takes is going to be able to be done in his Arwing.
“But Star Fox isn’t a big IP.  Why bother reinventing the series as something beyond its genre when it’s not a big IP?”
That is true.  It’s not a huge IP but it is a legacy IP, one that Miyamoto has stated he’d love to do more with.  And honestly?  I kind of wonder if branching out the genre would garner more interest in the series from potential consumers.  Not everyone is really into the spaceship shooter genre and that’s fine.  I think with some innovation, maybe branching out in the genre department a bit, and decent marketing and the Star Fox series could honestly be twice as big as it is now.  It has the potential to market to a lot of different fans-- furries, sci-fi nerds, flight sim fans, general Nintendo fans, etc.
“But Star Fox is supposed to be a spaceship shooter game!  That’s the heart of the series!”
And I get that, in the same way that stomping Goombas is Mario’s staple. Star Fox can still have those types of titles in the series.  But I’d rather see the series evolve and thrive rather than cling onto what it’s traditionally been and the fans getting a half-baked game once every half decade or so.  I think much in the way that the gaming world has changed, Star Fox as a series has dug its heels into the ground in terms of gameplay and it needs a chance to breathe and grow.  I don’t think there’s been much growth for the series from a pure gameplay standpoint since Assault and that was 3 generations ago.  I want to add that I’m talking purely based on gameplay-- I’m not commenting at all on story or on character portrayal.
Two extreme games that I think highlight what I’m trying to say are Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey.  Of course these are both huge IPs for Nintendo and they received a lot of care.  But if you look at the gameplay, what they did was take the basics and let them grow, adding a few new mechanics to those specific games within the series for variety’s sake.  Assault did it similarly, particularly with vehicle swapping.  But... really, after Assault, I feel like we saw a step back.  Command obviously was limited by its console.  Zero has virtually no excuse in my book being 2 console generations after Assault and seeing nothing more than finnicky controls and a return to SF64 form... and with no versus mode to boot (still salty about that, don’t mind me).
“But is it a Star Fox game if it doesn’t have flying/on rails combat in it?”
Yes.  The answer is yes.  Because Star Fox isn’t about flying space ships. There’s a billion games that will let you fly ships.  But them having flying ships does not make them the same thing as a Star Fox game.  Star Fox is about the charm-- the fun banter between teammates, a world full of goofy sci-fi tropes with very quotable dialogue, and fun, quirky animal friends.
And just because a Star Fox game isn’t purely on rails flying combat doesn’t mean it can’t have a nod or two.
“Okay, but if you want them to just make different genre games for Star Fox, why not just have Nintendo make a new IP entirely?”
New IPs are always a gamble and we know through the development of various games that Nintendo puts a LOT of work into making new IPs.  If you haven’t looked at the development of Splatoon on Wii U, I really recommend it.  It really shows why we don’t get many new IPs from Nintendo-- they’re super picky and they super wanna make sure that the IP will land on its feet successfully.
Star Fox is, again, a legacy IP and people know the characters.  That’s actually pretty huge because then you’re not having to market an entirely new cast.
Starlink was a huge indicator that people want to see the Star Fox characters again.  The game may have sold poorly overall but the Switch sales were remarkably high compared to the other consoles and I’m 99% sure it’s because of brand familiarity and the Star Fox team.
“Okay, okay, so you want Star Fox to evolve.  But what do you want to see?”
Honestly?  Something good.  Anything good.  Nothing that’s limited by the idea of what a Star Fox game “should” be.  I am a big believer in not stifling creativity and that extends to the gaming world as well.  I don’t want to see another rebranded SF64.  I want to see something they make with an honest, passionate heart, even if it’s something as outlandish as a Star Fox dating sim or even a Star Fox crossover with POKEMON or KIRBY or PIKMIN or... or anything else that sounds absolutely wacko.
I just want a good game made with love that respects the series and doesn’t try to confine it.
Anyways THANKS FOR READING MY TED TALK

Nintendo GameCube review
while the Nintendo 64 was thriving
in 1997 wei-yin who had worked with
Silicon Graphics to create the
graphical innovation utilized for the n64
framed another tech organization called our X
what's more, in 1998 they were given an undertaking by
Nintendo back to make another
illustrations processor for their impending
replacement their expectation was to make it
the head honcho 128 bit juggernaut
of gaming frameworks with Howard Lincoln
expressing that dr. Yin had the best individuals
chipping away at it the control center was moreover
planned with a more straightforward rs IC which made
it simpler for outsider engineers to
make games for it appears to be somewhat amusing
taking into account how much outsider
engineers of lower than the intenders
Locke share arrangements, thinking back to the eighth
what's more, 16-bit time on May 1999 Nintendo
reported undertaking dolphin as a replacement
to the n64 the task name depends on
the processor made by rx called the
flipper which would likewise carry on into
a portion of Nintendo's special features like Super
Mario Sunshine similarly as the processor was
approaching finishing in 2008 ex was
bought by ATI you might perceive their
logo on the framework
notwithstanding the securing the group was
still ready to complete the processor as
arranged and that very year the Gamecube
was reported by Nintendo the following year
dispatch titles were recorded including Star
Wars Rogue Squadron 2 rebel pioneer and
Luigi's Mansion it's no time like the present Luigi
got his own legitimate game Mario is missing
doesn't tally
the Nintendo GameCube was delivered on
September 2001 in Japan November in
North America and the remainder of the world
by May 2002 and in obvious Nintendo
custom its dispatch cost was $399 much
not as much as its opponents this is one of the
most essential yet special looking control center
I've at any point seen
the title of this thing represents
itself the Nintendo GameCube like any
Nintendo framework between the mid 90s to
mid-2000s it had a rainbow of shadings to
browse like orange silver dark and
indigo as you see here I'm really not
a major aficionado of the plan resembles an
curiously large lunchbox and it's perhaps one
of the reasons
I didn't sell just as it ought to have
which we'll get to while the handle is
convenient seriously
holding 10 years old control center openly
would be quite humiliating you know
what they ought to have done make it look
more like a dolphin and it requires
water to control it sorry I'm simply trying
to discover ways that can make the control center
stay consistent with the code name you have the
power at the back and AV yield here
which additionally has a discretionary advanced opening
for reformist yield down on the
base are yields for a modem to permit
broadband association and the Game Boy
player which I addressed in my Game Boy
Advance audit strongly suggested in the event that you
can track down a modest remember it needs
to circle to run it discussing the Game
Kid Advance a few games like Metroid
Prime Fusion and pokemon ruby sapphire
exploited the gamecube gameboy
progressed interface link subsequent to staying with
cartridges for the Nintendo 64 fizzled
according to a monetary point of view the
entender at last did the change to
plates however it didn't make any difference that much
since they were as yet distrustful about
theft Nintendo called skillet to the side to make
extraordinary small DVDs that held around one
furthermore, a half gigabytes far underneath the
PlayStation 2 and Xbox as their games
utilize ordinary size double layer DVDs that
held around eight and a half gigabytes
they are in a real sense the size of my hand
on the off chance that I had no fingers and a few games like
Metal Gear Solid the twin snake and
Occupant Evil 4 require two circles
regardless of games being packed and
radiating a couple of provisions graphically it
was very near its adversaries yet don't
expect the gamecube library to be filled
with framework pushing forces to be reckoned with like
terrific robbery auto or half-life 2 I truly
fail to see why dr. yen's group at
Ardex went past to make the
dolphin's graphical capacities more
incredible than its opponents in light of the fact that the
circle size implies it can't work to its
maximum capacity and afterward again the
Nintendo 64 just utilized cartridges while
the PlayStation utilized CDs and today the
n64 rounds old enough more smoothly I'm not
what you call a tech master talking about
the Nintendo 64 the regulator isn't
splendid to be straightforward it was imaginative
with its simple stick and thunder Pak
be that as it may, it's so abnormal to utilize essentially
since you can't arrive at all the catches
except if you trade handles it genuinely
wouldn't have shocked me if this
wasn't planned by a human the frightfulness
cushion smaller than usual 64 fixes that load of issues and
to say the gamecube regulator improves
from its
is putting it softly of all the
controls I've utilized in the course of my life this
one is my top choices it's longer than 10 years
old with no dead right on the money either simple
stick it's agreeable each catch can
be reached during interactivity without
trading handles and is just about as dependable as a
wood-consuming oven words don't do
equity on how astounding this regulator
is trust me it merits paying for the
genuine article over post-retail marketplaces this is made
for Nintendo special features like attempting to
play Sims bustin out with this thing
I'll stay with a console and mouse however
games like super crush siblings skirmish
furthermore, Metroid pride yes I endorse however
Nintendo weren't done when Super Smash
Siblings Wii U came in 2014 the interest
for a gamecube regulator expanded
again right to the point that Nintendo
delivered a connector that permits you to
plug GameCube regulators into the Wii U
furthermore, re-delivered the actual regulator
for the silver Super Smash Brothers logo
furthermore, a more extended wire which is the reason it's the
one a normal use and on the grounds that it's the
most current the GameCube has two memory cards
what's more, four regulator inputs like a
Nintendo 64 probably the greatest strength
was center multiplayer a few
races and gems in Mario Kart Double
Run for instance you and your companions
are snared
anyway online movement was negligible best
what's more, right now old the lone game the
previously mentioned modem took into account
web gaming was Phantasy Star Online
the rest would land and a couple of games
exploited it in Tendo
president's instructional exercise wada said in 2004
that most clients don't wish to pay
the additional cash for association with the
Web and for certain clients
association methods to the Internet
are as yet difficult
perhaps Nintendo gamers overall were
enthusiastic about web based gaming at that point and
the Internet was altogether different thought about
to what it is currently however I would have preferred
for him to say that center to Bill Gates
the Gamecube was likewise the principal Nintendo
console not to have a Super Mario game
as a dispatch title when Super Mario
Daylight being delivered a year after
dispatch and the last to have a selective
created by uncommon with starfox
experiences it was delivered on September
23 2002 then on September 24 the organization
was bought by Microsoft a date which
will live in shame
uncommon were likewise fostering a continuation of
Diddy Kong Racing called Donkey Kong
Hustling he was even on pieces of game view
special material however the Microsoft
procurement messed up those
plans
luckily Nintendo had another selective
designer who were similarly as skilled with
Nintendo IPs come forward
retro Studios who restored the Metroid
series in a huge manner with pry one of the
most noteworthy computer games at any point made
Nintendo kept on depending on their
mascots with Mario Kart Double Dash
super crush siblings skirmish Paper Mario
the thousand-year entryway Luigi's Mansion
Creature Crossing Pikmin f-zero GX The
Legend of Zelda the Wind Waker and
Nightfall Princess outsider help
was a lot more grounded with a fabulous complete of
661 games formally delivered in
correlation with the Nintendo 64 with 388
games just as delivering outsider
special features including Metal Gear Solid
the Twin Snakes Resident Evil 4 and Star
Wars Rogue Squadron 2 maverick pioneer
anybody can concur that the Gamecube
produced a great deal of extraordinarily strong titles
so I was a third spot in the control center
wars well I have two hypotheses Nintendo
were putting in more effort to focus on a grown-up
crowd with the new Capcom arrangement to
make Resident Evil select to Nintendo
what's more, there are an IP unceasing murkiness
mental soundness' Requiem but since the
Gamecube looks more like a child's toy
contrasted with the Xbox and PlayStation to
add to Nintendo's theft neurosis which
implied less space for engineers to work
with and you have a gaming framework that
doesn't have the foggiest idea what it needs to be we should
see it again it's a purple shape that
utilizes minuscule circles requires an uncommon
regulator to play and a portion of the games
like zelda windwaker in which the
trailer guaranteed a hazier Zelda title
you cel-concealed impacts these were
warnings flagging that the game line
was a game control center only for youngsters this
doesn't resemble a framework that will
have a concise selective title wherein
Leon s Kennedy can have his head cut off
with a trimming tool
talking about West's shame the one
surefire thing that truly harms deals
the same way a killed the Sega Dreamcast
was the absence of a DVD player or perhaps a
Precision Orange is to unseemly for
a Nintendo framework to take DVDs detonated
in prevalence during the mid 2000s and
the ps2 and Xbox had the option to function as
Blue ray players turning out to be more than just
gaming frameworks instead of the
Gamecube did I notice it came out a couple
days after the Xbox in North America it
was hard for nintendo on the grounds that there was
exclusively a gaming organization and keeping in mind that the
convenient market was benevolent to them they
were going up

So what if Nintendo comes out with the N64 classic?  What 30 games should be on it?   I remember a few very good ones, but it wasn’t exactly a quantity system.
Reblog with 30 N64 games.
Here are mine and I’ll even explain why.
1. Mario 64:  Duh
2. Ocarina of Time: Gotta have Zelda
3. Majora’s Mask: Some under appreciated Zelda
4. Starfox 64: I still fire up the N64 to this day to play this.  It’s just that good.
5. Yoshi’s Story: The N64 was more than just a 3D console. Though most devs preferred to take advantage of its 3D processing power, it could still shine as a 2D system as well.
6. Goldeneye 007: There’s going to be some tough licensing involved in getting this one, but it would well be worth it.  This is in most people’s top ten lists for N64 titles.
7. Gauntlet Legends: Who doesn’t love some Gauntlet? Get your freinds together, pick your classes and go murder waves of enemies.
8. Megaman 64:  A solid port of Megaman Legends.  A great example of how low poly doesn’t need to be muddy and ugly.
9. Wave Race 64:  The N64 was host to a good share of racing games, but Wave Race deserves props for its excellent water physics.
10. F-Zero X:  When we’re talking about racing games you can’t leave this one out.
11. Mario Kart 64:  Sure Mario Kart began on the SNES, But in 3D it truly found its identity.
12. Mario Party 3:  Mario Party games keep getting made, and the N64 having pioneered a 4 controller setup was the perfect place for a party game.
13. Super Smash Bros.:  How could you possibly leave this one off the list?
14. Donkey Kong 64:  While Rare developed this game, it’s solidly Nintendo’s intellectual property, so why not include it?
15. Diddy Kong Racing:  Another racing game?  I’ll be honest I don’t even like racing games, but man did the N64 have some that I loved anyway, and this is one of them.
16. WWF No Mercy:  The N64 also saw its share of great wrestling games.  It was a hard call to choose among them, but this one is the most fully featured.
17. Kirby Crystal Shards: Gotta have those mascot games.
18. Mischief Makers: Another example of amazing 2D on the N64.
19. Sin and Punishment:  Sure it’s an import, but the localization was so complete before its cancellation that it was already offered on the Wii virtual console, so why not take advantage of that?
20. Paper Mario:  The N64 was pretty RPG starved, so this fills that gap.
21. Doom 64: Lots of FPS games on the N64, but what was great about Doom 64 is that it wasn’t a port of Doom, but an entirely new game that not nearly enough people have had a chance to experience.
22. Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness:  Ok, so I get that the N64 Castlevania games are controversial, but most haven’t even played LoD.  This was a vast improvement over CV64, and in many ways was what that game was meant to be the first time.  It’s dark and atmospheric, and I think enough time has passed that a new audience can give it a chance.
23. Ogre Battle 64:  I’m not a big player of strategy games myself, but the cult following this game has more than justifies its inclusion.
24. Harvest Moon:  The start of a popular series with a simple, but engrossing premise.  Also a nice break from all the ultra violence popular in the late 90′s era of gaming.
25. Pilotwings 64: Some would call it a glorified tech demo, but what a tech demo it was.
26. Fighter’s Destiny 2: Again with the obscure gaming.  The N64 had a few fighting games, but the Fighter’s Destiny series used a 3 falls system not unlike Olympic karate which made it very different from other 3D fighters of its time.  The sequel also was much more fully featured than the original.
27. Mortal Kombat Trilogy:  It was hard to choose between this and MK4, but since there’s already a 3D fighter on the list, I thought it best to include a 2D fighter as well, and MK Trilogy is a massive one, featuring every MK character in the series up to that point.
28. Bomberman 64:  Bomberbman 64 was a departure from the classic Bomberman formula, but still a quality game in its own right.
29. Mario Tennis:  Gotta have sports right?
30. Pokemon Snap:  It was hard to choose a Pokemon game for the N64, but the big deciding factor was that Stadium required an accessory and a copy of the gameboy Pokemon games to really play it to its fullest, while Snap was a full game right out of the box.
Excluded from the list:
Most Rare games:  There’s going to be enough of a fight to license Goldeneye already.  I’d love to include Perfect Dark, Turok, Conker, Killer Instinct Gold, and Jet Force Gemini, but it’s not happening.
Mario Golf:  I think one Mario sports game is enough.
1080 snowboarding:  Again, the racing and sports genres are represented enough already.
Rayman 2: I’ve played it, and it’s honestly not a very good game.  Besides it has plenty of ports already.  The difficulty is too high, and the graphics are dull and muddy, which doesn’t suit Rayman at all.
Cruisin USA, Excitebike 64, and Automobili Lamborghini: Simply, the racing genre is represented enough already.
Resident Evil 2: In the N64 days I was happy to get RE2 at all being a Nintendo player, but this isn’t the best port of this game.  If there was space on the list, I’d have included it, but I felt like the existing selection was well rounded enough already.  If Goldeneye is not possible, then this would be the first candidate to take its place.
