#i really think this ep is a turning point for sam and dean

If you are a Jared or Sam fan please don’t read this. If you are a Jared or Sam fan and you leave a comment I will block you without reading it so don’t bother. The end of season 6 (ep 20, 21 and 22) seems like a turning point for Destiel to me. Maybe I’ve read too many gay fan fics but it just seems like their relationship changed in these eps. Like before this point they obviously had feelings for each other but they both thought it was a crush and they both thought it would go away. Then in these eps it feels like because of the storyline they both kinda accepted their own feeling but too afraid to say anything.
In The Man Who Would Be King (think that’s right) from the very beginning of the ep there was a difference in the boys.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They were lying to each other and couldn’t even look each other in the eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It looked like it was physically hurting Dean to lie to Cas and to even think that Cas was lying to him. He’s been lied to before usually by Sam and he gets pissed off but this isn’t a hurt by your brother look.
Tumblr media
If Cas is just a friend to both Dean and Sam why is it that Sam had no problem believing Cas could lie to them and go behind their backs (that to me isn’t even friend behaviour) yet Dean defended Cas. I find it funny that Cas and Dean think they are hiding their feelings yet Bobby and Sam had to question Dean to find out what he said to Cas so obviously they know what affect they have on each other and that it’s not just friendship.
“You’re distracted.” “I’m holding up my end.” “Yes but what else are you holding up. The stench of that impala is all over your over coat angel.” So Crowley thinks Cas and Dean are haveing sex in the car by the sounds of it. I just found this funny considering only a few eps before the angel told Dean Cas was in love with him.
The fact that Cas was loosing his mind yet he still had to protect Dean and yet again he protected Dean first before Bobby and Sam and there was a small pause before he said “my friend.” It was like he wasn’t sure what to call Dean. Even at the end when Dean called Cas his family I think it surprised him. As soon as Dean said family Cas looked shocked. I think sometimes in the season he thought Dean just called him because he needed help not for any other reason and then knowing Dean thinks of him as family really surprised him. I know Dean said Cas was like a brother to him but I think he just didn’t know how to express his feeling without actually saying the truth and that was the easiest thing to say.
The moment tho that for me it all changed was when Cas was in the oil fire. Dean told Cas to look his in the eyes. It sounded like I know Bobby and Sam are here too but how could you do this to me. I’m different from them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They both looked like they were trying not to cry. Both their eyes were glassy. Even Dean looking back at Cas before he left was emotional. He didn’t want to leave Cas in that fire. That whole scene to me was them admitting the truth to themselves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In ep 21 I can’t believe how emotional this scene was. Like all Dean said was that Cas and Crowley can kiss his ass. Cas looks so hurt and scared and Dean has to actually put his hand up to his mouth to stop from crying.
I find it interesting that this is when they choose to get Lisa and Ben out of Deans life. I’m happy that they finally did it but it’s just interesting timeing. They could’ve done it at any point but no they chose to do it during this very Destiel episode.
Tumblr media
I’ve heard that whenever Cas dies (which I’ve also heard is quite a few times) Dean gets depressed and suicidal. I guess in The New Boss was the beginning of it. I’m pretty sure drinking that much alcohol and watching Asian cartoon porn is considered depressed.
When Cas went to the church and the homophobic priest was trying to tell the people how god hates gay people and Cas says “your wrong. I’m utterly indifferent to sexual orientation.” They didn’t have to have the priest talk about gay people but they did. Then Cas confirming his opinion on it.
Then when they were trying to get death to kill Cas (I’m not convinced Dean would’ve let him actually do that) when death said there was more then just souls in Cas Dean looks worried for Cas. If he was willing to let death kill him he wouldn’t have been so worried.
Every time in these eps that Cas came it was always to talk to Dean never to talk to Sam. He didn’t care what Sam thought he just wanted Dean to understand what he was doing. Even when he thought he was going to die he was trying to make up with Dean. Bobby was in the room and Sam was in the building but it was Dean he wanted to make up with and it was Dean he said he was going to redeem himself to. He f*cked over a lot of people but he didn’t say I’m going to redeem myself to everyone or even you guys (as in Dean, Bobby and Sam). It was just Dean.
Last thing I think this was the first time I ever seen Dean choosing to save someone other than Sam first. When Dean went to get Sam and seen the jar of blood on the floor he had no idea what happened to Sam. Any other time he would’ve went back to Bobby with the blood and told Bobby to handle it so he could go find Sam but this time he chose to stay and save Cas. Even when those monsters took over Cas body Dean told Bobby to go get Sam. By the sounds of it he is starting to put Cas ahead of Sam. I like that.

Don't grieve in front of me, Dean. It makes me uncomfortable, part II...or prequel?
How'd I get here again?
Oh, yeah. I got here, because I got excited about the cars. I remembered Dean driving a brownish tan/brown car in THE SCENE from Slash Fiction? Pinto, I wondered. FORD?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alas. It's a Pontiac Acadian. I was so hopeful. It's a VERY similar style though. But it definitely calls to mind the car when Cas n' Dean presided over Mary's loss of John in 4x03. It looks like the car on the beach in 13x01, when Dean is grieving Cas. And this...is 7x06, when Dean is ALSO grieving Cas.
It's also VERY interesting how the break light's out on the driver's side. That's because Dean is out of commission. In SPN, often the headlights or the break lights show which brother is "down for the count." At the end of season 1, ep 1, it's Sam who's down-and-out, because he lost Jess.
Here, it's Dean. He "appears" on, but the break light shows us the truth.
We cut from the "out break light" to...THE winged Pony, hanged. The pony is the light. It's yellow. It's the sunshine. Because the light is out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's winged. It's in the rearview. it's noosed around the neck, like how Cas said that freewill is something you hang yourself with. He cuts it off and throw it into the backseat, desperate to forget. Cause it's Caaa---
Anyway. You could argue Dean is lamenting the life he'd left behind, but the Lisa-Ben dynamic was Dean's Ford Truck phase, and this winged thing is-- it's just-- it's just 100% pointing to Cas. If you don't think so, the next bit is damning.
Sam turns on the radio to make Dean feel better. A sad song comes on, and Dean drops the act for a MILLISECOND. And Sam? He says SORRY.
Then, he gets uncomfortable.
It's the earlier match to the peanut-butter-and-jelly-strong-choice scene from season 13x06 (widow era).
Sam is afraid of this kind of grief. (And for good reason. Thanks, John!)
"What would you say if I called on you now..." is the first line. Come when you call, etc etc etc. And Dean looks just about ready to burst into tears. No, watch the scene. He looks devastated when he hears it and realizes what it is, like a little intake of breath.
Dean grieves Cas...with music.
Tumblr media
Ah, the familiar pattern. Dean is struggling to be allowed to grieve in this season. Everyone's terrified of his grief, even Bobby, who demands he "not be a person" and "keep doing the job" in a desperate plea to keep Dean from "dying before he does." Bobby doesn't know what to say or how to grieve, so he tries to keep Dean alive the only way he can think of, with utilitarian pragmatism.
But Dean needs to feel his emotions. Even though the scene above is played for laughs, it's really about Dean's emotions leaking out despite his attempts to hide it.
Tumblr media
Ahem. Not writing Dean-Cas till "later seasons," my ass. Dean wore his heart on his sleeve whenever he was "allowed" to. My gosh!

Someday I'll do a thing about all the car-hopping they have to do until, you know, Dean is "Dean" again.
Dean, going through the motions, "acting like one of the dead ones." And...the Impala makes a return once Dean accepts that Cas can't help, and then Cas says he's gonna go with to try and mitigate the wreckage he left.
Cas agreed to try and "fix" things, just as Dean accepted their brokenness. (No ones cares if you're broken so long as you try.)
And the we see Baby again for the first time. Hmmmm.

Talk to me about s2 supremacy. Spare no details.
thank you for asking and allowing me to gush 💕
maybe most importantly: it still has that early seasons 2000s vibe with flip phones and tape decks and newspaper articles and wide angle shots and americana and grainy film and desaturated colors and grittiness and loose layered working class clothing and shitty motels and grungy bars and this rough edge to everything
another main point is that it finds the perfect balance between monster of the week episodes and a season-encompassing story/myth arc by generally combining the two when necessary, unlike some of the later seasons
an overarching theme is the morality of hunting and whether or not truly every “monster” is really evil or deserves to die: “what if we killed things that didn't deserve killing?” (bloodlust, the usual suspects, croatoan, hunted, born under a bad sign, roadkill, heart) which plays into my next point
the pacing of the season works really well to set up everything about the season finale: sam's storyline with simon said, croatoan, hunted, born under a bad sign; and dean selling his soul, first through john’s deal with azazel, then with children shouldn't play with dead things (“what's dead should stay dead” / “when someone's gone they should stay gone. you don't mess with that kind of stuff”) and crossroad blues (“i think you did it for yourself. so you wouldn’t have to live without her”) and somewhat in croatoan where he's ready to die with sam
literally every single episode is a certified banger in my opinion. i can only think of 2 episodes that didn’t hit the mark too well for me personally but every other one i could rewatch endlessly, and those two still objectively have merit within the framework of the show/season
i won’t talk about each and every ep, but specifically the entirety of playthings, one of the most, if not THE quintessential, gothic episodes of the show. immaculate vibes.
the usual suspects, which shows how well sam and dean work together without even being in the same room and just how generally Weird they can be to outsiders, as well as continuing the theme of “demons i get / people are crazy” which was first set up in s1
as well as the entirety of what is and what should never be. no further explanation necessary i think.
also sam and dean look really nice
cinematography is on. point. the entire time. these shots alone from 2.09 and 2.04. museum worthy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sam and dean’s relationship is just. sublime. “we were just starting to be brothers again” (2.01) – “he's the only one who gets to call me [sammy]” (2.03) – “you make a move on him, you'll be dead before you hit the ground” (2.09) – “if i ever turn into something that i'm not you have to kill me” (2.11) – “i can't, i'd rather die” (2.14) – “i thought it was supposed to, to be this perfect fantasy” / “it wasn't” / “we never went hunting and you and me just never, uh... you know” (2.20) – “i had to look out for you. that's my job” / “and what do you think my job is?” (2.22)
without taking the focus off the brothers as its core or feeling suffocating, s2 introduces more recurring supporting characters (bobby... kind of, as a rollover from the s1 finale; jo, ellen, ash, gabriel, victor henriksen, gordon walker) and expands on the monster lore, lending some depth to the spn universe before it begins to really ramp up with heaven and hell etc. from s3 onwards
the music was so good, too, although that’s true for other seasons as well. from ‘bad moon rising’ playing on the radio after the car crash in 2.01 and ending with ‘don’t look back’ in 2.22 and everything inbetween; dean singing along to ‘can’t fight this feeling’ in 2.05, ‘hellhound on my trail’ in 2.08, ‘renegade’ in 2.12, ‘back on the road again’ in 2.14, ‘house of the rising sun’ in 2.16, ‘silent lucidity’ in 2.17, ‘rooster’ in 2.19, ‘americana’ playing during sam’s death etc.
they just... did not hold back in all hell breaks loose part 1. earth shattering.
Tumblr media
season 2 is funny (hollywood babylon, “maybe the spirits are trying to shut down the movie cause they think it sucks”) and heartbreaking (all hell breaks loose) and silly (tall tales) and deep (what is and what should never be) and philosophical (houses of the holy) and tragic (heart) and creepy (croatoan and pretty much all the rest) and intelligent (the usual suspects) and beautiful to me 💛

The issue with people upset by the prequel is that it’s basically a wound that keeps getting picked at every time another OG Cast member joins the show and Jared is still not there. I have to be honest, I don’t like Jensen as quite as much as I did before the prequel situation, BUT I still enjoy seeing him in stuff. Honestly, I don’t see how the finale made the situation any worse. No one truly thought Jared would be in it. Sam was the reason for Dean turning up again at the end. It could have been worse. I think people are allowed to be upset about the show, but Jensen didn’t newly kick their puppies.
I get that to some it feels like a slap or a throw away line about Sam, but it would have been worse if he wasn’t mentioned at all. Jensen could have asked Jared to make a cameo and maybe he said no. I don’t really think that happened, but I can’t, and don’t want to, waste any more energy being upset by a show , or the behind the scenes of a show, when I’ll never be able to know the full true story anyway.
I think Jensen truly has made a mistake in how he handled the not-really-a prequel, and I don’t think he came off looking great from a personal or professional POV. But, he’s also gotten more visibility with The Boys and an ABC show. So, it’s not like he’s destitute now or something. I don’t think he’s in any danger of not working.
People have lost the art of seeing nuance in people and situations. It’s all black and white. Jared is a monster. Jensen is the devil. Jared is my sweet meow meow. Jensen is perfect. Most people aren’t all good or all bad, and sometimes they can do crappy things while still being a decent person at their core.
Can people just chill the F out?
I wish, but I don't expect it to happen.
I have no interest in defending the prequel generally, not least because I don't understand basically ... any ... of the decisions made in doing it. Like my reaction to nearly all of it has been, "But why, though?". So someone not liking Jensen anymore or liking him less than before over it? Eh, fair enough.
However, still going on about how Jensen is an evil backstabber trying to "erase" Sam literal years later when he sorted it out with Jared in a day is just ... something else. Including acting offended all anew because there really wasn't - IMO - an obviously better way to bring Sam into that finale without a Jared appearance he may not have wanted or been able to do for any number of reasons. As much as certain Jensen stans and hellers are trying to deny it, the underlying motivation for Dean was explicitly said to be protecting Sam. Like I see no real difference between acting like it's some pointed insult Dean went on an adventure without Sam and acting like it was some pointed insult Sam lived longer than Dean in the finale.
Likewise trying to insist all Jensen's other projects are laughable failures and he's clearly desperate for work because ... obviously nobody would choose to do more than one thing after doing the same show for 15 years! There are plenty of other actors both more and less successful than Jared and Jensen, so the obsession with continuing to pit them against each other when they clearly aren't following the same path anymore is just ... silly stan bullshit.
Yes, being the lead of a weekly show and an EP of that show and another is impressive on any network. Yes, The Boys is a buzzy streaming show and even a supporting role on ABC means new audience and networking opportunities. Sneering at either is ridiculous. Both of these guys could probably retire tomorrow if they wanted off SPN money, but lucky for us? They're still creating things for their fans to enjoy - but for stans, that's not good enough. One of them has to be crushing the other because their not!fave is an unforgivable terrible horrible no good very bad person that will get his just desserts if they just talk enough shit. 🙄

Rewatching Heaven and Hell
Welcome to “I think I shall never see an angel as lovely as a tree: A Supernatural Rewatch Blog” with Lor and Mace!
Up today, s4e10: Heaven and Hell.
So, turns out Anna is a fallen angel, and Cas and Uriel have been sent to bump her off. Meanwhile, Anna wants to do another kind of bumping with Dean, who's trying to come to terms with his part in the war between heaven and hell (oh, kitten, if only you knew). Speaking of hell, Ruby and Sam come up with a plan to save Anna while also pitting angels and demons against each other, and it works pretty well, save for Ruby getting tortured some and Anna taking it upon herself to juice up on her old grace and blitz the demons herself. Then, at the end, we get a Sitting-on-Baby's-Hood Confessional from Dean, who finally tells Sammy what really happened in Hell and for how long. The boys are become super-fret.
Below is a log of our real-time reactions as we watched. Remember that there may be spoilers for any part of SPN’s 15-season run here. Note also that the nature of our conversation is adult and thus it may contain adult language and themes.
  [and we begin:]
 Lor:
nnggggg Cas and his poufy hair and his dramatic entrances
 Mace:
YAS
Uriel pounds on Dean but Cas just forehead fingers Sam I LOVE HIM
 Lor:
YAAAAS
Imagine watching this not having SEEN it before
(I mean, I shouldn't have to imagine but I don't really remember)
 Mace:
YES
I don’t remember either
Lor:
"sent the angels to the outfield" DEEEEAN I love you
 Mace:
 YAS
 Lor:
I want to make fun of Anna for "we're in trouble huh?" but honestly the idea that if the Winchesters are scared it REALLY is time to be scared is pretty accurate
 Mace:
YUP
can it, Anna. Nobody cares.
 Lor:
right?
 Mace:
 PERKY LITTLE ASS
 Lor:
why did it take this show like seven years before they could write a woman less than 50 who wasn’t annoying as hell? (exception for Bella)
 YES
 Mace:
RIGHT?!
i don’t know that I don’t believe in hypnosis but I can’t understand how anyone could be that suggestive. it doesn’t seem possible for someone to count backwards and make me go into a trance
 Lor:
right?
 Mace:
 suggestable? -ible?
 Lor:
suggestestibblitle
 Mace:
 EXACTLY
 Lor:
HOW did Dean not remember this and storm into the empty ready to ungrace Cas? just. HOW.
 Mace:
 RIGHT?!
 Lor:
smarty Sammy
 Mace:
 YAAASSS
 Lor:
I am SHOCKED that Dean thinks feelings are overrated
 Mace:
“you guys are… perfect” Um, hello.
 YES
 Mace:
 that = “Cas is perfect"
 Lor:
YEAH IT DOES
 Mace:
i mean how many angels has he met?! he sure doesn’t think Uriel is perfect
 Lor:
Cas has been on this show for about 3 minutes at this point and I care 900% more about him than about Anna and her monologue
 Mace:
HE GUYS CHECK THIS OUT Sam for the win
 Lor:
RIGHT?
 Mace:
 YUP
 Lor:
LOL
I was gonna say, Sammy, his reality is looking an awful lot like a feverdream these days
 Mace:
 SNORK
 Lor:
I do really like the idea that an angel's grace falls to Earth and becomes a magnificent tree
 Mace:
ME TOO
HA! That look from Sam. He’s pretty much done with Anna
 Lor:
YEP
poor Dean. he's just been various versions of "what is my life this is above my pay grade" all ep
 Mace:
how do they not see this as a big ass bluff?! They need Dean
 HAHAHA YES
 Lor:
RIGHT?
omg his flinch when she touches him
 Mace:
ugh, don’t touch him, hag
 ooof
 Lor:
stop seducing him he's scared
 Mace:
RIGHT?!
you’re not the wings he wants, lady
 god, his back
 Lor:
LOL
GET YOUR HAND OFF CAS'S HANDPRINT
 HOW DARE
 Mace:
 YEAH
 Lor:
seriously feels like the most shoehorned in sex scene ever
 Mace:
(Cas will consent to doing it almost anywhere Dean wants, but NOT inside Baby. He can smell her in there still. It’s never come up though because Dean suspects as much and would never.)
 YUP
 Lor:
I get what they were trying to do I guess, but I mean. they have no chemistry. and Dean doesn't sleep with people bc he connects with them over feelings. that's not how he works
 Mace:
 YUP
 Lor:
and nothing convinces me something about Anna makes him break that pattern
 Mace:
I wonder if they’re trying to make some parallel between her and Dean and Sam and Ruby
 Lor:
(OMG I love that)
 oooof maybe?
they do a really EXCELLENT job paralleling Dean and Cas with Sam and whoever later, so guess they get better at that
 Mace:
 yeah
 Lor:
"HE LIKES YOU"
 Mace:
HE LIKES YOU OMG
 YAAAASSSS
 Lor:
YAAAAAAAS
 Mace:
 ope Team Free Will, bithces
 Lor:
"I guess I just like being a pain in the pooper"
 YAS
 Mace:
 HAHAHAHA
 Lor:
Uriel, you're gross
 Mace:
YUP
“you’re junkless down there, right?” Is he asking for a friend?
 Lor:
HAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA
that line always bothered me bc they're vessels but I guess he doesn't fully understand that yet
 Mace:
 yeah
 Lor:
omg Cas is having feelings over there
 Mace:
 HE IS
 Lor:
actually, I think he does. I think he's falling apart in a flood of feelings of all kinds under there
 Mace:
 YAS
 Lor:
whispers lay me to waste, Cas
 Mace:
he can lay me to waste ANY DAMN DAY
  HAHAHAHAHA YAS
 Lor:
HAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA
 YES Dean save Cas
 Mace:
OOOH DEAN SAVES CAS
  YAS
 Lor:
YES
 mrrrrf Cas's face
 Mace:
 YESYESYES
 Lor:
i always forget that Ruby bringing the demons was their plan
 Mace:
YES
  oh Sammy’s face
 Lor:
RIGHT?
 his voice breaking
 Mace:
 RIGHT?!
 Lor:
the lip tremble and the progression to like one tear
 Mace:
 YES
 Lor:
the tiny sobs he's not letting out
 Mace:
and Sam’s agony behind him
  I CANNOT
 Lor:
HOW DOES HE DO THIS?
 YES
 "I wish I couldn't feel a damn thing"
 GAAAAH
AND all this while Cas is just starting to feel!
 Mace:
He envies the angels because he thinks they can’t feel, but Cas is starting to feel because of him
 Mace:
 OMG LOR
 Lor:
MAAAAAAACE
 Mace:
Cas is the key to Dean taming those feelings and Dean is Cas’s key to opening up the feels
 Lor:
YAAAAAS
 [after the episode ended:]
Lor:
I'm so glad they didn't try to keep Anna as a foil/love interest/recurring character and went with Cas. even if they never ever intended any romantic feelings bt Dean and Cas *stares into camera*, Cas is a much more interesting character (the angel considering disobedience rather than the one who already made the choice) and Misha and Jensen are just so dynamic on screen. Anna is fine, but it doesn't come alive the way moments between Dean and Cas do
 Mace:
agreed
i wonder if Misha’s already-clear-this-early acting chops were a part of that decision, plus the lack of chemistry with the Anna actor
 Lor:
i have heard that that was pretty much exactly it
who knows what is really true or if that is just something that has been speculated and repeated so often for 14 years that it's become "true" but
 Mace:
 yeah
 I remember hearing/reading that, too
  Lor:
but beyond that I don't think I've heard anyone who would actually KNOW say anything about it
and they aren't likely to? I mean, you'd effectively be saying the actress wasn't that great. none of those guys is gonna say that about a fellow actor
  Mace:
 exactly

can you do “gay chicken” fics? and, if it’s not too late to ask 😅, can you specify which fics are going to be Established relationship? You already do it for AUs and I kind of consider those mostly AU tbh unless it’s post ep 15.18
I try and point out in the summary if they are in a relationship, so the general assumption should be that they aren't unless its alluded to. Pretty much everything is technically AU even post show stuff really seeing as its all divergent from what happens on screen 😄.
Annoyingly I can't find a lot of gay chicken fics, but these are the ones I've managed to dig up.
All's Fair in Love and Hunting - caelum_writes   Ao3
Nonspecific timeframe.  Cas bets Dean he can’t make it 2 weeks of them pretending to be in a relationship because he’d be too uncomfortable with people thinking he’s gay.
Word Count: 20k                              Graphic Sexual Acts
A thing of fiction can be a dangerous thing – Dingobaby   Ao3
Set S14.  Stopping for lunch in a familiar town, Dean and Sam are recognised by Marie who wrote the Supernatural musical.  Excited to meet Castiel, she invites them to a party with the cast members, where Cas sees part of it for the first time and learns about Destiel.  He and Sam take to teasing Dean about it, only for Dean to snap.  Maybe Destiel isn’t fictional after all.
Word Count: 47k                              Graphic Sexual Acts
It's Not Gay Chicken If You Meant to Crash - supernatural9917   Ao3
Nonspecific timeframe.  An argument via text message turns into a game of gay chicken that neither Dean or Cas are willing or want to lose.
Word Count: 2k                                 Graphic Sexual Acts
[Edit] ooh I was going through the fake relationship tag and remembered this fic from oh so long ago. Sadly its been deleted, but I managed to track it down on archive.org
For Richer or Poorer, or Maybe Just as Monster Bait – diamorem   Ao3
Set S9 AU.  A monster is hunting couples in a neighbourhood, the solution is to send Dean and Cas in to find out what's going on.  However, things have been strained between them since the fall of the angels.  That doesn’t stop them from trying to out gay each other in front of the locals.
Word Count: 18k                              No Sex

whats ur favourite underrated spn ep? (if u have one!)
Funny that you're asking me this because most of my favourite episodes are the popular ones XD. If I had to choose one that I think is the most underrated it's Last Call. I think it's a really good turning point for Dean's apathy in season 15 and I like how it dug into Dean's past + how he finds meaning in his life. I also liked all the hints to what was happening in the divorce arc. Genuinely maybe my favorite Dean-centric episode. And it has great eileen moments and wound probing for sastiel so what's not to like!
Here's some other underrated episodes that I sort of remember and love:
Byzantium- made me cry like a baby and I loved how each of tfw had a different way of mourning Jack/being a parent
Prophet and Loss- I just really like the malak box angst and I thought the ending was strong even though I don't rlly remember the rest of it (I think this episode mostly makes for good fanfiction episode codas)
Peace of Mind- it has the Sastiel hunt and the milkshake date, Cas reads newspapers when the brothers go to sleep, parenting shenanigans, Cas likes to text Dean, etc
Just My Imagination- I love Sam flashback episodes and this one really stuck out to me. Again I love episodes that explore the characters' past and how they feel about their life in the future. I liked the creativity in this episode and how sweet it was sometimes.

Supernatural Season 12 rewatch thoughts...
Okay so we all know that my main problem is that I just can't get past everyone's terrible English accent but we'll put that aside for now
I enjoyed Rick Springfield, though I know many didn't
They shouldn't have put in that weird dub of Cas saying hey assbut again though
Sorry to be a bitch but The One You've Been Waiting For was ruined by Gil Darnell. I've never seen him in anything else so he might be good elsewhere but he really wasn't in this. The ep was far-fetched just like all the Thule stuff but they could've got away with it if he'd delivered a different performance imho
Alicia Witt killed it in Lily Sunder, so did Ian Tracey
I liked the secret service terrorism investigation guys
I don't buy Billie being so immediately happy about taking Mary. She made it clear she wanted Dean or Sam, I feel like she could've at least thought about it for a second or two before agreeing
Regarding Dean is such a good ep, and JA was just wonderful in it, but why did we need Dean fooling around with a woman who looked 22 max
Something about Stuck in the Middle falls flat with me and I don't know what it is, though I do appreciate Speight's commitment to going off-piste, and all his shenanigans in the editing suite
Why did David Hadyn Jones have so much foundation on
Absolutely thrilled to see Eileen again and I love how happy she made my best friend Sam
I know I wasn't going to mention it, but just real quick - NO ONE IN ENGLAND TALKS LIKE THAT I PROMISE YOU EVEN THE REALLY POSH ONES okay thanks
This whole BMOL murdery boarding school thing wound me up like wtf and also having Hess say things like 'mangy colonials' honestly why do you hate English people when Mark Sheppard has been so good to you
Nothing against the guy but I just don't like DHJ as Ketch and I really did try. They set the character up to be so scary and cold and then they let this man caricature-James-Bond his way through the season and it's frustrating
Speaking of caricatures, we really really really don't need to put a cup of tea in the hand of every English character. Please fuck off with that (picks up tea)
The sheriff with his taxidermy squirrel did NOT get enough love, what an icon
The waitress Dean slept with looks like Alona Tal and I'd like to know if that was intentional, and also please look at this for some top drawer analysis on that whole mess
I know the Destiel community love the whole mixtape thing but to this day I have no idea what the point of that moment was. Cas could've gone into Dean's room to talk, or just waited til he wasn't in there to look for the Colt, I just don't get why the zep cassette
Cas really was a hot mess in this season, he was all over the shop
Explain to me again how Ketch is able to control a Hell Hound??????
The back and forth between Lucifer and Crowley got a bit tiresome but I think both Marks did the best they could with slightly worn material
Still livid that they killed Eileen
The writers really did JP dirty by giving him a half-baked Braveheart speech and then having JA steal the frickin episode with his "I hate you and I love you" emotional monologue to Mary
I do enjoy the way Mark Pellegrino says Castiel (Cast-chell). Lucifer will pronounce your name however he likes
In conclusion I watched this season again to check if I'd misjudged it the first time round, but turns out I do in fact mostly hate it

7 eps through season 12 and it continues to be strangely fascinating. I have criticisms for sure, but I’m holding off on them more specifically until at least the end of season, if only to put them in the full context and sort them out for myself.
overall, the show feels much more confident in itself than it has been for a while, and this confidence feels deeply connected to the story focusing more on Sam again, esp after the Carver era’s focus on Dean. a return back to the roots, w/ Sam as the more prominent character, and Dean back in a more supportive role. it’s the Luke vs. Han idea, w/ Sam as the “sensitive, smart protag” and Dean as the “funny bad-boy w/ a heart of gold.”
also the return back to the “Dean as a hunter, Sam as questioning it” framing. whenever the show hits a reset point, it always seems to pick up this dynamic again. take S8 and how much it echoed S1, in Sam out of hunting w/ a girlfriend and Dean returning back to him. it’s not as blatant in season 12, but Sam and Dean’s dynamic does remind me of their original attitudes, with Sam framed as questioning / wondering about hunting while Dean is seen as a hunter straight up. look at Sam and Dean’s convo in 12x06, right? (“SAM: Did you know people tell stories about us? / DEAN: Yeah. Apparently we’re a little bit legendary. / SAM: Yeah, but, I mean, so was Asa. Then a hunt went bad, and he ended up hanging from a tree, alone in the woods. / DEAN: He died on the job. No better way to go. / SAM: You really believe that? / DEAN: Yeah. What, you don’t? I mean, come on, Sam, it's not like we're in the “live till you're 90, die in your sleep” business. This? [DEAN points at ASA’S hunting wall] This only ends one way. / SAM: We should get back.) I suppose I’m zero-ing in on this framing in part because we know how the show, and Sam and Dean’s stories, ends now, and amongst so much of the fandom “it didn’t make sense!” opinions, I’m trying to figure out if the ending was actually foreshadowed and people just didn’t pick up on it, either unintentionally or deliberately.
on the other hand, in spite of its “reset” qualities, season 12 is also very self-aware in itself as the twelfth season of Supernatural. lots of dialogue call backs, characters talking about “who they are” in the whole context of the story, Mary as a returning character with so much history for the show both in-universe and on a meta level, Lucifer having his return in the body of an aging, has-been rock star, and his short monologue in 12x07 (LUCIFER: ...[God] needed my help, and He'd say anything to get it. His words, your words, they mean nothing. Don't you get it? This is all meaningless. Heaven. Hell. This world. If it ever meant anything that moment is past. Nothing down here but a bunch of hopeless distraction addicts, so filled with emptiness, so desperate to fill up the void... They don't mind being served another stale rerun of a rerun of a rerun. You know what my plan is? I don't have one. I'm just gonna keep on smashing Daddy's already broken toys, and make you watch.). the writers know the story could’ve ended much earlier but it’s still chugging along -- which is a weird spot to be in, admittedly. where else did the show have to go except to turn self-referential, look back at itself, go more meta? from a writing pov, I get the impulse, and obviously it gets increasingly meta up until the very end. while S8 was a reset, I do think the writers were trying to reckon w/ the whole show thru Carver’s era, even if they struggled w/ it. similarly, I get the feeling that S12 and beyond will try to reckon w/ the whole of the show, given how self-referential and meta it’s already gotten. (whether it does a good job w/ the meta aspects or not will be a different story.)

SAM, if I were your brother, I'd have hit you in this episode. Or at the very least put hair-dye in your shampoo!
Ok, so I finally finished re-watching Don't Go Into the Woods, and I noticed that Sam is doing the same thing he did with Claire Novak a little bit!
///
So, at the start of the episode, he doesn't even seem all that aware of the stress Jack, Dean, Cas are under. In the previous episode, Peace of Mind, Sam is wrapped up in his own grief and failings, and Cas steps in to mentor him (note Cas also wanted to let Dean get some much-needed sleep).
Here, in Don't Go Into the Woods, Sam starts out gung-ho about the hunt, but by the end of the episode, he's clamped onto his moral-fixation-of-the-moment, inspired by the case-of-the-week, where a Dean-and-Cas coded sheriff has lied to a son to protect him.
///
And here's the thing. I's a little bit true, right? Dean is tiptoeing around Jack, chipperly telling him that "his mission is SHOPPING!"
BUT.
Sam's being sanctimonious-Sam here.
Dean's been the one trying to take care of Sam AND Jack when Sam was running everyone ragged by diving into case after case...when Sam was trying to forget about losing the AU hunters.
Now, weeks later, Sam checks back in to trying to be apart of the co-parenting village.
I'm impressed Dean is keeping patience enough to listen to him. I'd have laid on Baby's horn and screamed, probably. Or turned on heavy-metal and let it rattle the windows.
DEAN: So telling the kid--you think that's the best idea? SAM: What? You don't? DEAN: It doesn't make his life any better, you know?
Tumblr media
Oof. Ow.
Dean is so sad.
He knows something is wrong with his kid, but he doesn't know how to fix it. BECAUSE it's not simple.
But Sam? After weeks of being "out of it," Sam has hyper-focused on The Thing (TM) he thinks is gonna fix it.
For Sam, it's simple. Don't lie, and everything else solves itself! :D Talk, and all your problems just melt away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
DEAN: I took care of it, okay? We took care of it. SAM: No, no Dean. We did not take care of it.
(BRB, hitting Sam with a newspaper.)
Sam is framing this as a "Dean is so controlling" issue, when in fact, it's a part of the larger "Sam is checking out," one.
And hey--we are absolutely sympathetic to Sam checking out, to using hunting to ease his turbulence.
He's not the only character to do so!
However, Sam is a character that tends to check out, come back, and immediately go into sanctimonious LECTURE mode:
SAM (judgily): No, no Dean. We did not take care of it. You did.
Tumblr media
Yeah, Sam. That's kind of the whole friggin' point here!!!
For weeks now, Dean and Cas having been taking trying their darnedest to care of YOU, of Jack, of everything! Dean is even the one who checked in on the phone with your friend ROWENA.
Cas is going the other direction, taking on too much. He's out trying to take care of things ON HIS OWN AS YOU SPEAK. Dean's on the -hold-down-the-fort-homefront, and Cas is on the big-solution-oriented-battlefront.
All Dean does is exhale a little. "Ha..."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SAM: And do you think you really took care of it the right way?
....
......................................
Sam. Sammy.
....
Anyway, so Dean. He's hit with this...blunt, hamfisted unkindness rom Sam after his Michael-possession and superhuman efforts to take care of everyone, so he scrambles.
DEAN: "Jack said he was fine."
And obviously, Dean knows Jack isn't fine.
HE'S the one that was wanting to give Jack more space and time before hunting, after all. And in the beginning of this ep, Sam wasn't even thinking about Jack's wellbeing at all. It just...hasn't been on his radar. He was the one berating Dean for not wanting to bring Jack along and sassily reminding him that Jack was (via Donatello) "is in the clear."
And so, Sam pushes the lying issue:
SAM: "He's a kid. And when we were kids, how many times did we tell dad we say were fine just to make him happy?"
Tumblr media
...
Oh.
Like you did earlier this very episode, Sam?
*coughs*
Tumblr media
Sigh.
///
Tumblr media
In the context of the last few weeks and his cluelessness in the beginning of this episode, wanna know why Sam is using this issues to throw such a bitch-fit?
Because now that Sam's checked into the village parenting club again, he's latching onto something that's easier to control than everything else: words.
Cause Sam's simplifying the whole sitch.
(It's why Sam's boundaries with Jack tend to be "easy-mode" parenting, like his berating Jack's sugary sweets/diet. These are tasks that allow Sam to remain "the good guy in Jack's corner" without doing the "hard-mode" parenting that turns the parent into a Bad Guy.)
And Sam he thinks talking out "the truth" will magically fix Jack's complex issues...ones Sam's been conveniently ignoring for weeks.
///
And Dean is being so beautifully understanding about it. Acquiescing and trying things Sam's way.
///
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sam slinks in the background at first, letting Dean do the greeting and the talking at first, waiting for his moment to swoop in and provide "sage, Sammy-time advice" That he has no doubt been rehearsing silently in the car.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Dean...despite shielding Jack from the truth, is being honest in other emotional ways. He emphasizes how he didn't particularly like the gross parts of the hunt.
[[Remember, in the very beginning of the episode, Sam judgmentally raked Dean over the FUCKIN' COALS for jumping at the sight of the dead body. "How many years you been doing this job, Dean? You're embarrassing me here.")]]
///
Enter Sam. Parent mode activated!
God help us.
Tumblr media
DEAN, comically annoyed that Jack didn't get the beer...
....and MAYBE wondering if Sam's bull-in-the-China-shop parenting is going to work right here at this ill-timed moment or not.
The thing is, Sam is right about some aspects of this! It's a good thing to talk to Jack about his powers! Like how Cas needs to talk to Jack about the snake! How Dean needs to stop being so afraid of the truth that he goes into denial mode.
BUT!
At its base, the Sam method tends to chafe.
Jack's been INCREDIBLY defensive lately, something Cas and Dean know well and have clearly talked about with each other freely. In Peace of Mind, they both used the snake to talk to Jack soas not to trigger Jack's defensiveness.
But Sam? Sam's been way outta the loop. And it shows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SAM: Jack LISTEN. Dean and I wanted to talk to you about your powers.
And again, I'm not saying Sam's wrong. He's just...unfortunately very Sam about things even when he's right. He's able to occasionally give good advice, like to Mary about AU Bobby!
There's no real...100% wrong stance here.
After all, maybe it would've been better for Jack to come along with them (or maybe it would've gone terribly)?
And Dean may have good intention in wanting to lie to protect his son Jack, but Dean definitely doesn't want his partner to lie to him to spare him pain.
(Or, actually, via the script, that's not quite true. He SIMULTANEOUSLY wants Cas to tell him about the snake, and he DOESN'T want Cas to tell him about the snake. Lol, oh the humanity.)
///
ANYHOO. Dean gracefully enters the conversation, trying to be frank but IMHO clearly having misgivings about this approach and timing:
Tumblr media
DEAN: It was crappy of us not to tell you. You know, we were trying to be nice. 'Cause we care about you. But because we care about you, you deserve the truth.
And Jack has a moment of indecision here, clearly thinking about his own lie. Ordinarily, Jack might come clean about how his powers injured someone (and then healed them). But not now. Not with how things have been lately.
Tumblr media
But here...psychologically wounded from consuming Michael's grace, feeling flat inside, feeling guilty and disconnected from everything...he remains quiet.
Not to mention, Sam's up in his face like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
///
Jeebus. No wonder Jack didn't say anything.
Make no mistake, Jack is annoyed by the constant hovering. He says as much in Game Night, but something about this cerebral-scripted-Sam-method IMHO works the least with Jack.
(We see that in Tombstone, too.)
I think Dean realizes that Jack's withdrawing here, that this method, despite it's moral clarity, wasn't entirely effective or successful for getting through to Jack:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At least with Cas, Jack allowed himself to get mad, to speak freely. (Same with Mary in Game Night. He lets his real emotions show.)
But this? Sam's pushing?
Tumblr media
He shuts down:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Dean tips his head back, like "Oh crap." Perhaps thinking to himself, HOLY MOLEY THAT DID NOT WORK AT ALL.
He even makes a Cas face about it:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the fun part is: Jack knows that Dean knows.
You can see it in the flash of eyes he gives him here. But when Jack looks back to Sam, he does this little "I'm so innocent" act.
And Sam? Sam looks overjoyed because he's a dumbass who missed...everything.
Dean on the other hand...is...more understanding of the fuck-all progress that actually made here. Which is basically none. He swings his arms like, "Whelp. That was useless."
Tumblr media
Sam is like YISSS I HAVE DONE IT I HAVE CONQUERED PARENTING IN ALL MY WISDOM
DEAN (sarcastically): Great. And I guess I'll go get some beer.

I got this idea from that one ep in season six where meg and cas make out ok but hear me out what if they both found you attractive and they like both wanted to fuck u and boom threesome
smut, threesome, biting, choking, no use of y/n, cursing, m/f/f, virgin cas, dom!meg, switch!reader, switch!cas, meg 😍😍😍
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
You, Sam, and Dean came back from giving some of Crowley’s lackeys a Rougarou. You went to get a beer while Dean and Sam fought about working with Crowley. It went back and forth until Sam stopped answering, then Dean called out for him.
“Dean?” You call out. Walking through the room you turn the corner to see Dean and Sam knocked out on the floor with a bald man standing over them. You grab your gun and call out. “Hey asshole.” You point it at him. He turns and smirks, all you feel is a harsh hit to your head and your vision gets blurry and you faint.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
You woke up way after Sam and Dean, the three of y’all were tied up and a woman, a hot one, was talking to Dean. “Kinky, I like. But a little Q&A first, if you don’t mind.” Dean raised his eyebrows. “Now, where’s your boss?” Sam scoffed and she turned to him.
“You think we work for somebody.” Sam denied. The woman smirked. “I happen to know for a fact you’ve been juggling Crowley’s orphans.” She turned back to Dean. “Now, where is he?”
“Don’t know, don’t care.” Sam answered. “But you’ve been working his beat for months.” She sounded mad. “Doesn’t mean we get face time. You looked around in the silence. You’ve been hanging around with Sam and Dean for a while but not long enough to know who this woman is.
She decides to turn to you. “Who’s this pretty thing?” She looks you in the eyes. “Now which one are you banging?” She smirks eyeing you up and down. “Neither. Not really my type.” You smirked back. She walks to you and sits on you lap holding your shoulder. “How ‘bout you princess? Do you know where the big boss is.”
She got close, real close. “I don’t, and even if I did, I wouldn’t tell the likes of you. Now I don’t know who or what you are, but I can tell that it ain’t good.” She smirks and pulls a knife to your throat. “Be careful I might like it.” You winked and she smirked. Turning to the boys she spoke.
“Tell me or I cut this pretty little thing.” Sam laughs. “Something funny Sam?” Dean grits out. “Yeah. Meg.” You glare at him. “Really cause from where I’m sitting-“ Sam interrupted Dean. “Don’t worry she can’t do jack squat. She totally screwed.”
“Sam! Not helping.” You tell him. “Look at her, she’s furious. If she could kill you, she’d have done it by now.” He pauses. “Wow and I thought we had something.” You joke. “She's running.” She turns to Sam. “Am I?”
“Judging from the level of flop sweat in all of you, yeah.” The woman gets off your lap. “Which means you’re running from Crowley, which makes sense. Crowley would wanna hunt down any Lucifer loyalists now that he’s big man on campus.”
“How would you know?” Sam contemplates it. “It’s what I’d do. She can’t kill us.” Sam looks at you, shaking his head. “She needs us to get her to Crowley so she can stick that knife in his neck.” Sam looks to Dean this time. “It’s him or her.”
Dean looks up at the woman. “Well, I hope you both loose. But good luck.” Sam starts to talk again. “So, you know what you gotta do know right?” She response. “Let me guess your gonna tell me.” “Work with us.” Sam offers.
“Woah, what?” Dean asks Sam confused. Sam gives Dean a look that says work with me here, them looks back up at the woman. "We'll hand you Crowley with a bow on one condition. We go with you; you help us wring a little something out of him before you hack him to bits."
"What." She cocks her head. "Doesn't matter. Question is, can you get us what we need?" She smirks again. "I apprenticed under Alastair in hell just like your brother. So, Dean, can I make Crowley do whatever I want?" She turns to him smiling. Dean straightens up and looks her in the eyes. "Yeah, she can."
"It's a deal then. Hugs and Puppies all around." She moves her head to look at all three of you. "You gonna untie us?" Dean asked. "Please, don't act like you don't enjoy it." She bites her lip and walks to the door before stopping. "Oh! We're also taking the girl as a little, let's say, hmmm, deposit. We don't want to be double crossed." One of the men walked around behind you before hitting you on the head knocking you out and untying you.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
You moved your head around, stretching it out. You were bound to a chair again. Pulling at the binds you groan. "Hey Princess." Your head snaps up to the woman from earlier leaning against the doorframe. "Let me go!" you yelled. "Now why would I do that." You though for a sec. "Please?" you smile awkwardly trying the possibilities. She walked to you and grabbed your face. "Now that just adorable princess."
"Can I at least know who you are?" She thought for a second. "Meg, Meg Masters." She answered not letting your face go. You're breathing hard, your face in her hands, your pleading eyes, you looked just delicious. Meg fought the urge and backed away. "Meg." You tested the name on your tongue.
"Yep." She confirms popping the 'p'. You pull the knife from your sleeve and start sawing the rope. "So why am I here?" you ask. "You're a hostage." She shrugged. "Yeah, I get that part, but why me?" The knife has cut through most of the rope. "Cause why would I waste a chance to hang around a hottie like you." You smirk. "I'm flattered really, but" you snap the rope and stood up. "You really thought that would hold me?"
"No, not really. I kinda hoped it didn't, I like the chase." She smirked and started to run to you. You moved out of the way and that kept happening until Meg jumped tripping you and making you fall over. She straddled you pulling the knife she had above her head and brought it down on you. You held her arms back with you own, struggling heavily.
Meg leaned in. "Just give up already." She smirked pushing it harder. "Never." You moved your head and let her arms go and the knife got stuck in the floor. She grunted and her face was right in yours from falling. The two of you look into the others eyes. Your lips crashed onto another aggressively.
Moaning into the others mouth, breathing became hard. You pulled back. "You have a bed? No offense but I'd prefer not to do it on the floor." You were out of breath. "Yeah, I do princess." Meg slid her hand under your back and lifted, your legs instinctively wrapped around her waist. You go back to her mouth making out again.
One of her hands is holding up your thigh and the other is still on your back. You pass a room with Meg's lackeys, and they were dumbfounded but you were too gone to care. Meg opened the door and kicked it closed behind her. Your back makes contact a soft mattress. Meg moves her kisses to your neck and her knee rubs against your wet pussy.
You moan loudly, she rocks her knee into you and left marks down your neck. You grunt and whimper in her ear and the little noises you make nudges Meg on. She pulled up your shirt showing a black lace bra. Meg snaked her hand under your jeans after unbuttoning and unzipping them. Her fingers pressed against your clit making you arch your back and moan.
She used her other hand to pin yours above your head. Meg teases your entrance over your underwear. "Please~" You whine. Moving it over she pushed her index in. Your chest arches to meet hers. She started at a slow rhythm and went back to marking your body. Her speed picks up enough to get to your orgasm before she slows back down.
"I've come to check on you-" Cas appeared in the room spooking y'all. "Hey Cas, I'm a little bu-" You moaned and arched your back and throwing you head back, Meg had curled her fingers and her palm dug into your clit. The sound you made shot a feeling through Castiel. You pulled your head back to look at Cas with hooded eyes.
"Look Cas I'm finNE!" She did it again. "Tell Sam and Dean I'm fine." Cas didn't leave like you thought he would, it was like he was stuck in place. "What are you doing?" He asks. "You can answer this." Meg told you switching to attack the other side of your neck.
"We're about to have sex, and some people have not shame to stop when someone else is here." You spat the last part out at Meg. She curled her fingers aggressively and pulled you closer by the neck, your wrists now free. "Watch your tone princess." She smirked bringing you into a kiss. Your tongues twisted and danced together; she pulled back to get back to your neck.
"Why are you asking?" Castiel thinks about it for a second. "I don't know, it makes me feel a certain way, like when I watched the pizza man." "The porno?" You asked. "Yeah." He confirmed. He kinda stood there for a few seconds before calling to him. "Hey Cas?" He hums. “C’mere.”
He took a second before moving towards the bed. He stopped right in front of it, you nudged Meg, and she moved off of you. You get on your knees and pull Cas in by his tie. Your lips moved in a nice rhythm, for someone who never kissed before he was damn good at it.
You pull him on the bed, his back pressing on the headboard and you were between his legs. You pressed a hand to his crotch, and he bucked his hips moaning into your mouth. Palming his erection made him have such pretty reactions. You felt hands on your hips, pulling them up.
Meg slid your underwear off throwing them somewhere in the room. Her fingers pushed through your folds into your wet core. This time it was you moaning. By accident you increased the pressure on his dick, and he bucked hard, releasing the kiss his head went back in and he grit back a moan.
Meg was behind you pumping her fingers into you while you palm Cas’ dick and unbuttoned his shirt. Kissing down his chest you get to his pants before unbuttoning them you kissed his bulge over his boxers. Pulling the down too his dick sprung out and you lick it from base to tip.
Wrapping your lips around his dick while Meg was behind you thrusting her hand hard. The vibrations from your moans added so much pleasure to Castiel, an unknown feeling spread through his stomach. Cass' jaw hurt from the pressure he was putting on it, he loosened it and couldn't help the little noises coming out.
Your orgasm was also coming fast, you pulse and fluttering around Meg's fingers. Suddenly you felt a squirming wet thing pressed against your clit, Meg's tongue surprised you and you gasped going further on Cass gaging a little. Cas let out a loud yelp before lacing his fingers into your hair.
He didn't pull or guide, he just rested his hand in your hair. As meg continued to fuck you with her tongue you went faster on Cass. Abruptly you felt Cas twitch then release in your mouth, you almost choke but just quickly swallowed. You pleasure was almost unbearable. "Meg! I'm gonna cum." You look at her from under you.
Her tongue worked harder at your clit and her fingers went faster and deeper. The tightness snaps and you cum hard, your vision turns blurry, and your arms can't hold you up anymore causing you to collapse head resting on Cass' thigh. When your breathing and heartbeat slows you noticed Cass' stroking your hair and Meg caressing you while whispering against your skin.
You push off of Castiel's leg, Meg looks up at you when you move. You face her and push her down unbuttoning her jeans then pulling both the jeans and her underwear down her legs and throwing them to the side. Your lips connect with her thigh, kissing, sucking, and biting your way up to her pussy.
You lay your tongue flat on the outside, swiping up you collect her arousal on your tongue. Meg groaned and grinded her hips down on your face. You feel Castiel grab your hips before he put his mouth on your opening. You jolt in surprise before moaning, the vibrations causing Meg to throw her head back and release beautiful little noises.
Cass was copying the same thing you were doing to Meg; your head was light from the pleasure and lack of air. You pull back causing a whine to come from Meg. Turning to look at Cass you spoke, "Cass?" He brought his head up and looked at you. "Fuck me please~" You looked at him with hooded eyes and he couldn't say no to you."
You went back to making out with Megs lower lips and you feel the prod from his tip at your entrance. You brought a hand over and pushed one finger into Meg, her pussy fluttered around your finger. Your tongue circled her clit before you latched your lips to it.
Cass pushed into you fully bottoming out within seconds. Your moans cause Meg to roll her eyes back. "Yeah baby, that's it~ Keep going darling!" Her fingers laced through your hair, she tugged slightly at the root. You clenched around Cass, and he lean forwards bracing himself on your hips. He moved his lips to your ear, and you felt his hot breath as he spoke. "Keep doing that baby and I might not last much longer." He kissed down your neck stopping sometimes to focus on that one area.
Soon he started thrusting, your vision blurred, and you couldn't focus on what you were doing, he was hitting hard and deep with each thrust. Eventually you continued again this time adding another finger and curling it against her soft gummy walls. She grinded down at a fast pace and you matched it with your thrusts.
Without noticing you started to thrust back against Cass, he was hitting deeper inside you causing your eyes to roll back. "I'm gonna cum baby~" Meg gripped harder in your hair. "Yes! Just like that baby." Her encouragement made you want to please her better. She squeezed around your fingers and her thighs clenched around your head. She moaned loudly close to screaming. Your licked her clean as she squirmed overstimulated.
You pull back again, and Meg was asleep in seconds. Cass grabbed at your hair pulled you up, your back flesh against his chest. The free hand caressed up your side and slipped under your bra. He flicked your soft bud. Your nipple hardened against his finger. He pinched it and you bucked moaning loudly. His lips attacked the less marked side of your neck.
His lips did not leave a spot unnoticed, his thrust along with him constantly sucking and kissing along your neck brought you close to your high. His hand slipped back out from under your bra and caressed down the skin of your stomach before his rough fingertips meet your swollen clit. He pushes down on it, and you throw your head back onto his shoulder.
"Cass!" You bite your lip as he rubs figure eights on your clit. "Fuck~ I'm gonna cum." You grind down into his fingers and your walls fluttered around him. He grunted and bit down on your neck. The pain mixing in with the pleasure pushed you over your edge.
Cumming you squeezed him tight, moaning loudly. At that he twitched and cum inside your warm pussy. The only thing you can hear is the two of you panting. You both were in the same position, on your knee's chest to back, too tired to move. When your breathing calmed you brought Cass into a slow, passionate kiss. He pulled out and you grabbed Meg pulling her up to the top of the bed. The three of you fell asleep quickly legs tangled together.

I watched the episode and it was exactly like I expected. At least actors always delivered. - Glynn anon
Yeah, there was stuff to like but I felt like even Antony Starr struggled with some of the writing.
I was thinking earlier on, it was strange...but it was like the main characters they all looked the same, and acted the same but as soon as they opened their mouths and spoke it was like...that's not really them, I'm watching fake versions. It was a little unnerving tbh. The thing with the Boys is that the characters all have very well defined personalities and that includes their ways of speaking, both in language and style - and the writing didn't capture that nearly as well as other episodes. Sometimes the dialogue was too generic (and also lifted from old SPN eps the whole "let me be the one to save you for once" is lifted from Sam saying that to Dean) and other times it was just trying too hard to emulate the way they're written in other episodes. Instead of it being just another Boys episode, it felt like I was watching an imitation of a Boys episode written by someone who was really trying to emulate what's been done before but not quite getting it.
I think the episode is going to get brownie points because there was so much plot in there, but that's also a niggle...with so much going on, some significant stuff seemed a bit throw away and rushed. The death of Supersonic for example, and then there were also scenes that seemed to either go on for a bit too long, or seemed like padding like the scene between Ashley and the newscaster.
Finally, they always say when writing for the screen you always show not tell...there was so much tell!! Which was one of the problems for pretty much all the SPN writers, because everything had to be hit over the head of the audience incase they didn't get it. Well the Boys is a smarter show, with a smarter audience, so no one needs to sit around and spout exposition for the audience on how they're feeling because we can already see - like the scene between MM and Butcher - it was typical CW style writing.
Anyway, I hope it'll be better if watched again straight after episode 3 and right before episode 5 so it just kind of blends in with the other two but is is annoying. I'm amazed that not many people have picked up on it, the only one I've seen say something similar is a mutual on twitter who was equally annoyed.
Oh well, Jensen at the end with his cute behind and shaggy hair was a treat! Funny that it turned out he wasn't alone in his nakedness this episode...I think they're going through the whole male cast, so wonder who'll be next.

kay so if that prequel script was real - and i would not be surprised if it was - not only is this piece of media not getting my money but boy howdy i’m gonna clown the hell out of it. instead of recreating the beats of good old spn, i beg literally anyone in production to consider:
centring the narrative around mary
imagine mary totally rejecting the life she idolized as a kid because her daddy was her hero
by the time she meets john she wants nothing to do with hunting and she’s done with violence
she has a band of hunter friends she still kind of sees/keeps in touch with
the fact that pretty much all of her friends (carlos, latika, ada) are in hunting or are connected to hunting is a major internal conflict for her all season
she meets john. she thinks he’s cute at first, they flirt at a diner, whatever
they’re talking and it turns to politics; he tells her he lied to enlist at 17 and has been honourably discharged for blahblah military reasons. he is a USA simp, which ties into his own daddy issues that mostly have to do with feeling abandoned by his own father
this guy represents literally everything mary despises, because SURPRISE she is anti-war and anti-violence when she can help it
still they both have daddy issues so that’s something, but she’s not gonna see him again. thing is, he just keeps... being around
the first half of the season is mary trying to juggle the fact that she’s “out” of the life now, while also trying and failing to figure out if john winchester is a stalker/monster who is stalking her
meanwhile, john sees mary everywhere and /he’s/ convinced she’s interested - but after a couple blowouts, he pretty much wants nothing to do with her because he has wounded man-pride
the mid-season finale ends with mary realizing: nah, john is not a stalker, and over the course of this little weird back-and-forth they’ve been having there are parts of him that are... not awful. after mary gives him this speech about fate or whatever, john agrees to one date (despite his best efforts he thinks she’s really cute, and he likes that she’s so straightforward). they actually have a pretty good time.
at this point, they’re both kind of in it for different reasons, but none are really romance: sure, they like each other more every day, but they’re really kind of trying to prove to themselves and their respective fathers that they can have the apple pie life
the rest of the season is mary trying to protect john from the life
they go on a date and she has to covertly kill a poltergeist or a ghost or a werewolf
john meets all mary’s friends and the entire night is an exercise is “how much info is too much”
and every sunday night john goes to his mom’s and passes a bookshelf with a truly insane variety of occult books
as the season progresses, they fall more and more in love and the lighting becomes more gold/peach. during that time, there are weird narrative inconsistencies and retcons. “nah, it was love at first sight,” etc.
during the last two eps, the characters that had been fully fleshed out earlier in the season just feel totally flat
like every good romcom, this one ends with a wedding, but the camera is close up on the two of them only. we don’t hear about or see any guests, including their friends and parents
the season ends like a record scratch at the wedding. cut to the camera on dean in a really nice house with a white picket fence. he looks at miracle and frowns. starts looking through a bunch of papers at his desk. we see paper with bits of the john and mary story, but also with stuff from the og spn. these papers all have red marks all over them, and dean snatches two up and bolts
we see him knock on the door of another house and sam answers, smiling. “hey, dean, what’s up?”
and dean shoves the two papers in his hands and nods once, quickly, before leaving. sam frowns and looks at them, we pan down with him, not quick enough to read, but linger at the last bit written in red pen:
“poughkeepsie”

Let's talk about Supernatural 15x07, "Last Call."
Or as I like to call it, "the episode that makes me go feral because it tells us so much about Dean's sexuality, character, and arc."
YES others have written meta! YES I will talk about it myself for the satisfaction! I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
This post was originally a thread on Twitter and I am crossposting it to my blog.
Alt image IDs are included in that linked Twitter thread!
Join me on this journey.
Tumblr media
What's the context of this episode? Dean's been kind of down/depressed, feeling hopeless in the face of the idea that they have to defeat God (and not really working towards that goal much), and he's mid-divorce with Cas. He goes out on this solo case to try to clear his head.
And he ends up at Swayze's Bar.
Look, there are many things to be said about this. Dean loves Patrick Swayze. Arguably has a CRUSH on Swayze. It's very tied up in Dean pretending not to like "chick flicks" but he secretly does, which is queer coding. This was a Choice™️.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Choices™️: professional actors made many here. Deliberately.
Dean is smacked on the ass by a woman and then Lee smacks him on the ass too. Dean and Lee CONSTANTLY have physical familiarity and fond eye contact. I will limit myself to 1 paragraph about this lest I list it all.
Tumblr media
My point is that I just really need every person to digest and accept the fact that this is textually bi Dean. Not subtext; it's TEXT.
Dean and Lee had a relationship. Their history is alluded to in touch and in words. They had an orgy together. Dean's bisexuality is not repressed.
Tumblr media
It's also now canon that Dean tries to hide that he can sing well. Most people don't know (like Sam) but some do (Lee). Hence "Eye of the Tiger" callback.
And so: that's also the implication for his sexuality. Dean singing ON STAGE with bi lighting is him being ready to be Out.
Tumblr media
They dedicated an entire half an ep at minimum to emphasizing he's bi... and to Dean having a conversation with someone he (initially) trusts about potentially having a break from hunting, and what that could mean.
LEE: You're chasing missing persons, huh? I thought you'd be on to something bigger by now, like the Loch Ness Monster... Bigfoot.
DEAN: Trust me, uh, bigger doesn't always equal better. Besides, who's gonna look out after the little guy? God certainly isn't.
LEE: Damn, brother, that's dark.
DEAN: Yeah, it's been a rough, uh... it's been a rough decade, Lee.
LEE: Yeah.
DEAN: But that's a conversation for a different time, 'cause this, this right here, this is all right.
LEE: Well, I'm glad you approve. This is nothing you can't have, man.
DEAN: Oh, come on. Who's gonna kill the bad guys?
LEE: Somebody else. Dean, how many lives you think you saved, huh? Hundreds? Thousands? You deserve a break, bro. Hell, you might even deserve two.
"But Lee turns out to be a villain!" some might say. "Isn't the point that giving up hunting is bad?"
Nope.
Lee's a DARK MIRROR for Dean. He exists to exhibit the truths behind Dean's desires, and then what they'd look like if they turned bad. Take it from him: "I am you."
Tumblr media
There are LAYERS here. You can't focus on the dark side and ignore the truths that take place in the (often bi) light.
The singing? The conversations about taking a break? Throwing men out of the bar, which is framed heroically? "Road House rules" (another Choice™️)?
Tumblr media
NONE of that was bad. It shows what Dean wants.
Things only get bad–literally and visually–when Dean's tied up as Lee suddenly says wrong things in the dark.
The contrast exists to show that maintaining Goodness is a choice, and Dean would have no problem upholding that.
LEE: It's called a marid. It's a freaky-looking little thing, isn't it? [Lee laughs, and Dean stares at him, incredulous] Ah. As long as you feed it, it gives you money, it gives you health, everything you dreamed of.
DEAN: And so, what, it just costs innocent lives?
LEE: Dean, you and I both know no one's innocent. After everything we've done, aren't... aren't we owed a little happiness, huh? Don't we deserve that much?
DEAN: Listen to yourself. "We're owed." "We deserve." Come on, man. You're not God. Hell, God's not even God.
LEE: Good or bad... the world doesn't care. No one cares, Dean.
DEAN: Well, I do.
LEE: Yeah. And that's what got you here. Now, takes a while to drain a man, but listen to me. Don't worry about it, all right? Don't worry because once you lose a couple of pints, you just fall asleep, and then it'll be over.
[Lee pats Dean on the shoulder]
DEAN: Lee.
LEE: This... this is not how I wanted this to go, Dean. When that blonde girl walked in here last night, I should've know, you know, Dean Winchester, the righter of wrongs, you were gonna keep digging, and you were gonna figure me out. And if it's got to be you or me, well, I got to pick me, man.
"No one cares, Dean."
"Well, I do."
It's a reminder to himself as much as it is to Lee. It's a re-centering of purpose that he sorely needs.
And what's also key? Lee is human, but is now a "monster" in Dean's words. Because Lee lost his ability to care, Dean can't abide by that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Side note: bonus for the fact that Lee dies up against a wall by being impaled and he coughs up blood. You know who doesn’t cough up blood in their very weird and unrealistic death scene? Dean in the finale.)
Remember: Lee is a dark mirror for Dean. "I am you."
By fighting and (tragically) killing Lee, Dean "kills" the darker side of himself. The side that's struggling to keep going right now... AND the side that fears eventually wanting a break means you must be selfish and stop caring.
Tumblr media
He can keep going. He can find strength to fight God–and in the end, take a break and CHOOSE peace. It won't make him dark. He's the most caring man on Earth, even when it's hard. That’s reinforced later.
Isn't he owed a little happiness? And that's not in the having. It's in just being.
Tumblr media
The bonus is what's going on with Cas in this episode.
Dean's clearing his head and finding his center again while Cas is calling him.
Come home. I need you. Remember what matters.
And again, contrast: Lee turns out not to be "real/true" in the way Dean thought he was. But Cas IS.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And after Dean goes through all of this... he's grounded again, he recognizes that even amongst questions of what God controls there are still choices to be made, he's reminded that letting his caring heart lead him is priority, he's lost another friend...
He comes home to Cas.
Tumblr media
It's awkward. They're still distanced.
But this episode is a turning point for Dean. He's not angry at Cas anymore, he wants to talk, he's ready to move forward... he just doesn't know how to yet.
And if you follow the through-line... then you get Rowena saying "fix it"... and then after that is the Purgatory prayer.
Tumblr media
I just !!!
S15 is packed with Dean development to hone in towards the end of his arc, but "Last Call" manages to hit SO many buttons.
• He's always been bi, & is ready to be Out
• He can want a break–& maybe run a bar like the Roadhouse
• Caring is at the core of who he is
It's about the CHOICE. It's about wanting to live your truths, and that "caring" can mean many things–from defeating God and saving the world, to making the hard choices when it counts, to maybe running a bar where people are safe.
14x10 and its matching Texan Star also say hello:
DEAN: How come you always have a boyfriend?
PAMELA: How come you only want what you can't have?
DEAN: Whoa.
PAMELA: Besides, you don't want me. You just like to flirt. I'm a psychic, so I kinda know.
DEAN: All right.
PAMELA: So, still not ready to sell the bar, huh? It's a lot of money.
DEAN: Sell? This bar? This is my dream.
PAMELA; Yeah.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I recognize that rereading this info is sad(der) now because of what we got in the end, so uh... sorry.
But that's half the point: it's repeatedly blatantly clear what we were meant to get, down to deliberate echoes in word choice–caring, happiness, deserve, even Roadhouse.
Dean was meant to choose to take a break, maybe run a bar–whether on Earth or in Heaven. At minimum, if Dean was meant to end up in Heaven, he was meant to choose it with eyes wide open. And the next time the phone rang with Cas' name (15x19), he RAN for him. He was VERY ready.
And the whole season tells you that. This episode is just my favorite.
So... thanks for letting me ramble on about it!!!

DEAN WINCHESTER: BI ICON, ONCE-LOVER OF LEE WEBB, THE MOST CARING MAN ON EARTH WHO DESERVED TO CHOOSE PEACE AFTER GAINING HIS FREEDOM, & SOULMATE TO AN ANGEL
And a very big thank you to the talented kings Jensen Ackles & Christian Kane, and their longstanding friendship. They gave me many rights with their acting choices.
Here's an iconic bonus for the road.
