#i might watch infinity war and endgame though

Just the progression of rocket and y/ns relationshio throughout the movies? Like their relationship in vol1, 2, infinity war, endgame, holiday special maybe? and then vol 3?
Vol 1 :
You and rocket aren’t the closest automatically, I imagine rocket being very sarcastic towards you as he normally is with everyone else. I imagine rocket would find you attractive right away though, and would not shy away from nicknames like doll. He’d do it in a teasing way though, to not make it the most noticeable that he’s perhaps interested in you. However if you are like him and happen to be animalistic, he is noticeably a little different in terms of his sarcasm and he’s more likely to grow a soft spot for you quickly. However, you form a close bond after you comfort him in his drunken state, when he calls himself a monster. You have no reason to be so kind to him, after everything he’s done since the two of you met, so it strikes a cord in him. From on that point he’s noticeably softer and he might even start to gain feelings that are a little deeper than just initial “oh they’re hot” his feelings only growing deeper when you comfort him when he thought he lost groot. Again, doing something out of kindness when you don’t have to.
Vol 2 :
The two of you are close friends at this point, you’ve helped him raise groot. All of them had, but you especially. Nowadays, you often talk to him while he’s tinkering with random things. You become mad at him for stealing batteries, which leads to you joining quill and the others on his dad journey. You two separate for the first time since knowing eachother, and rocket is left to self reflect on himself (thanks to yondu). He’s able to realize he’s been pushing people away or acting like he doesn’t care for them, he even does so with you. Yondu tells him, if he really loves you, he should show it. I imagine he stopped acting like he didn’t care for groot after watching him almost die, so I imagine that when he sees you again, after that point no longer pretends he doesn’t care for you. He ends up confessing he cares for you deeply, and while his confession is obviously romantic, you take it as platonic. He does this right before you try to save quill, and you’re still persistent even after his confession, so he’s forced to tase you. After that though, the two of you do finally make up and he properly apologizes to you.
I am groot:
The two of you have an unspoken relationship. You two are very much like parents to groot at this point, and groot makes this very aware to the both of you. You don’t think much of it, as it makes sense since you’ve helped rocket so much in taking care of groot. However there seems to be an unspoken tension that gets even stronger because of what he’s told you both, called you both. Rocket is not only more aware of his feelings, he’s more aware that groot knows. Rocket knows he should do something about his feelings, but he stays silent.
Infinity war:
While he is once again sad to see the two of you separate again, it’s for the fate of the universe. You decide to stay with the morons in order to keep them safe, and rocket understands. It’s in your nature to be selfless and that you’d want to keep your family safe. Also, the fact rocket and groot are gonna be with the god of thunder certainly helps you feel more secure in the fact he and groot will be fine. Rocket casually demands a hug goodbye from you, growing more comfortable at this point for his feelings towards you without saying anything outright. Your relationship always seemed very friendly, but this time it feels more intimate and romantic, despite the fact neither of you have made your feelings aware to one another.
Endgame:
The two of you find solace in one another after the loss of your family. You end up dating over the course of the 5 years you two spent on earth together. After all the grief and pain, it’s something rocket simply could not keep to himself anymore. Especially since, he truly wants you to know he loves and cares for you, deeply. He thought for a moment you were gone too, before you came to earth along with nebula and Tony. He has made the effort since then for you to realize how much he cares. The two of you seperate, you deciding to help Tony, Steve, and others go back in time. Rocket bids you farewell, giving you a nice hug and a kiss. You two reunite after all is said and done, happy to see one another in one piece, as well as your family.
Holiday special:
Your relationship is a newfound development by the other guardians at this point, but mantis still manages to find you two adorable whilst everyone else is kinda offput by it at the moment. Not in a bad way, it’s just kinda new to them. You spend a lot of your time together this day, and eventually helping mantis set up Christmas for Peter. You gave eachother special gifts to one another, you granted him a special weapon designed by the people of wakanda, a weapon that can turn into any weapon at will. And what he got you? A necklace you loved that he broke… forever ago. He’s very embarrassed about his gift in comparison to yours, but you were still happy with it. Oh, and Peter was in a funny mood that day, so he even set up a mistletoe for you two to kiss under.
Vol 3.
Since you spend most of it praying your beloved isn’t dead, you don’t exactly interact with him specifically … very much. You go through hell and back just to make sure he comes alive okay, and he does. You embrace eachother the second you see eachother again, a very different embrace than any other hug you two gave one another. A mutual agreement that you’re both glad rockets alive. You fight together (albeit you’re a little protective of him), and after everything’s said and done, rocket is the captain. You’re still by his side, but now you’re following orders. In the past you would’ve made fun of him for suggesting he was captain, but now, it just feels right.

Honestly I always just assumed that it was only the power stone that could vaporize you by touch (because it’s the *power stone*) but everyone always says that it’s all the stones. So I’m wondering if there’s any time where another stone hurts someone just by touching it? I haven’t been watching any mcu recently, especially not the newer stuff, so maybe that’s why I didn’t know?
no worries! When Fury touches the outer casing of the Tesseract in Avengers 1, he is visibly in pain and he has to shake his hand to get rid of the numbness.
(do not have gif of this, but it's when he's putting the Tesseract in the suitcase before Clint shoots him in the chest and Loki says "please don't, I still need that")
Tumblr media
^ Red Skull is vaporized when he tries to break the Tesseract in Cap 1:
Tumblr media
^ just lightly touching the mind stone activates Wanda's innate magic 3000 + gave Pietro his powers
Tumblr media
^ ULTRON won't touch the mind stone
Tumblr media
^ Raw energy of the tesseract gives Carol her powers
Tumblr media
^ CONTACT ALONE with the power stone is enough to make Thor scream
Tumblr media
+ the scene you were talking about from gotg1 with the power stone
Tumblr media
^ an enormous plot point of TDW is that hours after getting possessed by the infinity stone, Jane is on the brink of death. Is it instant vaporization, no, but I think that's only because it's not in one go, she's taking it in her body like a fluid, so there's more skin to absorb the power, if that makes sense?
+ other examples I'm too tired to think of. Like vaporization is only shown with the Power Stone on screen, but all of them clearly have an adverse effect when you touch them and we know that even though they don't state it explicitly because of the WAY the infinity stones are presented to us. ALL of them (except the soul stone) are encased in something to make it easier to touch. That was done on purpose, not just convenience. if you watch mcu infinity saga closely, you'll notice just how much care was put into making the infinity stones visibly powerful without ever having to say anything about it. People use the magic from them, but they rarely, if ever, actually touch the stone.
i.g.
Tumblr media
the scepter ^
Tumblr media
^ an entire magic spell has to be cast in order to OPEN the necklace that holds the time stone, let alone USE it. it's dangerous to touch, so they have it locked away
Tumblr media
^ he's USING the time stone, but look how much effort was made into NOT touching it
Tumblr media
when he gives Thanos the time stone he makes an effort NOT to touch it
Tumblr media
^ the reality stone is consumed by Jane, but any time anything tries to touch her, a magic shield appears that protects it from threats (Also couldn't find a gif of this, but again, massive plot point of TDW is that they can't get the aether out without Malekith's help)
HOWEVER. you are right. People do touch the Infinity Stones with what is basically bare hands a lot, but not really until Endgame/Infinity War
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So...rules are fluid? I guess? Personally, I just don't understand why so many infinity stones would be encased in such powerful objects for protection unless it WAS dangerous to touch them
Tumblr media
The Tesseract was put in shatter-proof glass that survived centuries, the Soul Stone is...under some sort of spell via God(?)(unclear), the aether was broken into pieces so it's evil kool aid (which is a protectio device because you can touch the bits of the aether without it killing you, rather than the entire infinity stone), the time stone is in a necklace you have to use magic to open, the power stone was hidden in an unbreakable orb and the mind stone was encased in the scepter (Thanos might have done this himself, also unclear)
The point is that I think MCU didn't really decide one way or the other, and even if they DID, thanos is intended to be a bit sturdier than the average human, so him making contact wouldn't vaporize him instantly, I think.

Of all the criticisms that Marvel/the MCU gets, the one I can’t get behind is the “aimlessness” critique. Maybe this is just me, but I like world-building and getting to explore different characters. I also like how each project since Phase 3 has been its own thing, whether it’s a take on wuxia, a Christmas adventure, a horror movie, or a spy thriller. But the fact that so many people are clamoring for the next big team-up is...well, it feels disappointing.
For me, it feels like people aren’t really trying to watch the content. Instead, it’s watching the content in order to get hints of what the next big content will be. I saw this a lot when Ms. Marvel dropped the M word. The whole discussion about the show just became about the future of the X-Men instead of discussing what actually was shown in the show, like the exploration of the Partition or Kamala’s coming-of-age journey.
Along the same lines of “aimlessness”, it annoys me immensely whenever I scroll through the Marvel subreddits and see that people aren’t sure who the “main character” is of Phase 4 and 5. Because, yes, even though multiple heroes are getting their own titles, the MCU absolutely needs to have a main character (this is sarcasm). I don’t want to drop the r*a*c*i*s*t word, or even the s/e/x/i/s/t word because that might be an overblown statement...but I’m not gonna lie, it’s a little uncomfortable that people are looking at the current roster of heroes and going, “None of them feel like the main character!”
It’s just...ugh. I hate how a lot of discussions I’m seeing in the Marvel fandom are about wondering what the next major event crossover is instead of just enjoying the actual content. I don’t really care about Moon Knight becoming an Avenger, I care more about how Marc and Steven will react when they learn about Jake. Does that make sense?
Not to say that I’m not excited about the 2025 Avengers movies, because I am. It just feels like people are so desperate to have that Infinity War/Endgame experience again that we aren’t actually enjoying the content anymore. And by the way, crossover event fatigue is an actual thing! That’s what happened in the comics! Just saying.

Okay so my general mru timetravel saga phase thing. + how I’m doing the YA.
Since I think focusing on timetravel instead of the multiverse would have been a better next saga since timetravel was set up formerly.
Also, champions and Runaways will likely feature but I need to defamiliarise myself with the comics to feel more comfortable deciding on HOW. But I’ll get to it, just not in this post.
(Ramble below the cut)
First Phase:
I would make the first phase AFTER endgame extremely chill. More grounded, focus on a smaller group of heroes and the affects of the snap. TFATWS would be my preferred first project but obviously could change when I go to write it. Maybe seven projects in all? Keep it small. Six main solo projects, an avengers team up. I want to make it clear that things aren’t running as smoothly as they could be post-Thanos, there’s a lot of tension, the team isn’t quite… teaming.
Steve shows up as cameos in TFATWS and the avengers teamup, but not to take away from the focus of Sam being the new Cap. He’s more of an… advisor. He has experience, but that’s all he’s got to offer. He’s done with the fight. I don’t think he should’ve died in endgame personally bc I think people need a main avengers to continue showing up to really keep their investment until another character proves worthy enough for focus.
Eli is the first Young Avenger to be included, which would make a whole ‘oooo Young avengers maybe??’ But he’s played off like a cameo that’s there because Isaiah is there, no need to rush into the YA.
Kamala is also showing up. Ms Marvel wouldn’t be a MAIN solo project and would be kind of hinted to be disconnected until Carol shows up in the last episode.
There will also probably be a Hawkeye series but I don’t want any of the YA to be heroes before the YA. So Kate will likely cameo but I don’t want her to be a Hawkeye yet. That’s YA stuff. It can wait.
Second Phase:
A little more funky now. The Marvels is a good guide to take for the balance of funky and grounded. Sure it’s in space but it’s a pretty typical movie, nothing too big. Of course, the marvels = Teddy introduction. I’ve not watched the movie yet (literally on the way there now) so I can’t promise how I’ll introduce him, but it’ll probably be a small ‘cameo type’ thing.
The phase starts on a lighter note but slowly degrades, the avengers are slipping apart. It ends on a Loki s1.
Introduction of Kid Loki also. And I’ll probably do Sylvie differently. But with the demolition of the sacred timeline, there comes chaos in the storyline.
Introduction of the champions might occur here, whilst things are still light and dandy. Depends on what I can swing.
Third Phase:
House of M. Wandavision, obviously, introduces the Twins. They’ll probably remain toddlers though, to keep them little and cute, plus terrible twos + superpowers would make it obvious she’s crazy when she CHOSE that. They’re the two YA introduced this phase, no America until the multiverse unfortunately.
The avengers are slowly falling apart even further, Loki s2, and then, bosh, kangs. Not THE Kang, though. Other kangs. Fighting aaa. Some avengers probably die, Scott definitely does. They win and have to fight THE Kang, don’t win, Kang escapes.
Idk how to explain my idea for that film considering I haven’t properly planned it. But, basic idea is that he WILL come back.
Phase four:
No avengers. They fell apart, like they did for infinity war. If things like this keep happening, there’s no point anymore. Womp womp everything sucks. Some people, like Sam, are trying to keep everyone together but it’s so… hard. They wonder if they’re really just making things worse. They probably are.
Yeah there are solo projects. But it’s mostly pretty dismal. They’re trying to prepare to fight kang but they know they’ll lose. In the final solo project, there’s an end credit scene. Someone in a suit appears in dark streets and picks up a loose newspaper. ‘The avengers disbanded’. In a robotic-ish voice: oh no.
And then, final avengers movie of the saga. Except… it opens up to kids being assholes and oh wait this is just an adaptation of the first Young Avengers comic with some more emphasis on the avengers. Why have a huge crossover movie when teenagers can stab people? This isn’t to say there won’t be any closure for other storylines, I just don’t think every storyline needs to end in an AVENGERS storyline. The big crossover movie will probably be phase 3’s big Kang gang up movie, with everyone fighting their own time travelling war lord. But Kang’s death belongs to Nate. So that’s how it’ll be. Other superhero team ups will probably happen. But the big bad will be slain by those who now carry the avengers torch. It’s to me the only way to actually get people interested in the Young Avengers.
Some post saga notes:
There are some things that will be included. Like fantastic four and Xmen. It’s just a little difficult to try and explain how they fit it without going into masses of detail.
The next saga will likely be multiverse based. The Young Avengers are pretty well prepped for that kind of storyline. I’ll likely reallocate TLAT to this saga. Multiverse works better for god-based movies than time travel. It’ll probably include Children’s Crusade and YA vol2 for some of the avengers movies.

Tbh it's just Tumblr tag culture to tag all sorts of spoilers? Because we can't just assume everyone had the previlege and luxury to have had access to the internet and to consume fiction media as it came out..... Like my case may be extreme but my family was literally too busy squatting and living as ~illegals~ so we could never have an internet or cable connection for like 8 years. So I've got A LOT of catching up to do on pop culture etc and maybe one of my followers was in the same or a similar situation? Anyway that's how Tumblr works, we just tag spoilers because it doesn't cost anything and it doesn't ruin the experience of people who were too living too unstably, people who lived in rehabilitation centers, people who weren't allowed to consume certain media because of their parents, people who've put off watching a show because of a particular trauma or squick but who still want to watch it eventually etc
Okay now you're just being fucking annoying. Why are you tying your personal sobstory/trauma to something as stupid as TAGGING A POST. It's not even a tw tag either (bc if it was then i would understand) it's literally just my POV on when spoiler tags should and shouldn't be used.
Let me simplify this One more time. Tagging for spoilers on tumblr only works if everyone collectively does it. That way people can block said spoiler tag for a set amount of time, so everything tagged with #(content) spoilers will not show up on their TL. Example: new season of sex education dropped. People are tagging their posts about S4 with #sex education s4 spoilers, or just #sex education s4 because most people who don't want to get spoiled will have those tags blocked. That's how the tag system works. Everyone needs to do it, otherwise spoilers will still show up. People especially did this when avengers infinity war and endgame dropped respectively, bc those fandoms are very serious abt spoilers.
For atla there is NO USE in tagging spoilers because NOBODY DOES IT ANYMORE. This show is older than a lot of you on this fucking app. If you decide to go through the atla tag on tumblr, or follow atla blogs, you WILL get spoiled even if you have the spoiler tag blocked because i can't think of a single atla blog i follow that tags their fucking spoilers nowadays.
I'm not saying you're not allowed to tag spoilers. In fact i have never once said the words "don't tag atla spoilers". What i am saying, is that it's redundant to do so and it kind of makes you look stupid because, again, fucking DUH!
Once again you people are pretending like the internet needs to follow YOUR rules. "Oh people might not watch now bc of a trauma and might still want to enjoy the show later" ok and? Don't go following or reblogging atla blogs before you've even watched then, bc you WILL GET SPOILED. You're responsible for creating your own internet experience. I haven't watched sex ed s4 yet so i blocked the spoiler tags and for good measure i'm not scrolling the main tag either, because i don't rely on other internet users to do the work for me (even though i don't rlly care that much abt spoilers for that show). When heartstopper s2 came out i couldn't watch for two days bc of work, so i avoided everything to do with that show until i watched. That way i didn't accidentally get spoiled by someone who forgot to tag or just doesn't tag.
(Like i said this is different for tw tags, like tw flashing or tw gore or tw sexual assault. Those are things everyone absolutely must tag for the safety of everyone online. I would not want to be responsible for someone having a seizure bc i didn't tag a gifset with tw flashing)
This is my opinion on spoiler tags. It leans into my opinion on spoiler culture as a whole tbh but i digress. Once again: you can tag whatever you want. I just personally find it redundant and i'm allowed to make fun of it. I'm not making fun of YOU, i'm making fun of the concept of tagging spoilers for something that's nearly 20 yrs old. Hence the star wars spoiler joke i made, or when someone in the tags said someone got mad for spoiling fucking titanic (which is hilarious bc that's a historical event lmao).
This is the last i'll say about it bc honestly you're just pissing me off now. I'm allowed to enjoy posting about my show without having to pay mind to people who haven't watched yet but might in the future.

shandy if u were anything but my friend id judge u harshly for liking incredibles 2 but since u are im just staring at u like an autism creature
OKAY BUT LIKE??? INCREDIBLES 2 WAS SO GOOD THOUGH?????
I understand some people have hold ups about it, especially when comparing it to the first one, but from a story telling stand point and all the little things added along side it with the details and the THOUGHT put into it it’s SO GOOD.
Small note: I decide if something is good or not not based on if I personally like it/enjoyed it, but that alongside the storytelling and writing that went behind it!
For example; Marvel movies are kinda just okay for me. There are so many people that enjoy it a lot and I understand the hype!! The ones I’ve seen were feet fun to watch!! But outside of Infinity War, Endgame, Doctor Strange, and Thor L&T, I can’t really say I personally enjoyed them.
On the other hand, the recent (but not most recent) Wonder Woman movie that I like for its story was really cool from a story standpoint! But I didn’t exactly enjoy watching it.
And on the final hand that I am holding with both hands is Into the Spiderverse because it’s so fun to watch AND it’s story is awesome!!!! So it’s like, up in my main favorites list. The other two are also in favorites lists, but for their own categories specifically. If that makes sense? Puss in Boots, The Last Wish is ALSO in both categories and in my special third category!
The Incredibles 2 falls more under the second Category with Wonder Woman, but I rather enjoyed watching it, too. Just not as much as some others on my third and most important favorites lists.
Another small note: I’m about to go on a ramble but it might not entirely be accurate because I haven’t seen it since it came out! If I get something wrong pls be easy lolllll
The thing I love the most about The Incredibles 2 is that it not only IMMEDIATELY started from the ending of the first movie, but that it also tackled the biggest plot hole of the first movie: Superheroes are still absolutely positively 100% illegal.
Like??? The end of the first one confused me SO MUCH as a kid!!! The whole theme throughout that first movie was that Bob wanted to be a hero again but legally couldn’t be what he wanted to be, and that Dash and Violet were struggling a bit, growing up with powers and unable to exercise them without getting in trouble. They were in hiding!!! It was this whole moral dilemma for Helen to go through!!!!
And they just ended the first movie with “YAY SUPERHEROES SAVE THE DAY ITS A HAPPY ENDING FOR ALL!!! LOOK THEY GET TO BE HEROES AGAIN!!!”
At first my little kid brain was like “YAY HAPPY ENDING”, but as I grew older (like a few years later tbh) I was watching it again and it just… confused me. So much.
What had happened with the law??? Were they in trouble and we just weren’t shown it??? Did the writers just forget that the law even existed by the end of the movie?????
And Incredibles 2 fixed that! It absolutely sucked that they got in trouble for trying to help, but the truth is that heroes are absolutely 100% still illegal. They aren’t allowed! I don’t know why they didn’t get in trouble the first time with Syndrome, but it showed the repercussions of their actions. Even if it’s an unfair law.
And then they find someone who wants to CHANGE the law. Like, who genuinely wants to help them. Who has the money AND means to do so.
Keep in mind; ever since going into hiding, Helen and Bob have had to move REPEATEDLY with the help of the agency and their agent. An agency that can’t even properly help them hide and live a normal life anymore, by the way (as shown in the second movie). The beginning of the first Incredibles movie literally starts with Helen celebrating “I finally unpacked the last box! Haha!” Because they’ve moved around so much because of the law.
They don’t have money from it either. Bob was at a job that doesn’t suit him and in a car he doesn’t fit in because that’s all they can afford. And he had been fired, too! It might not look like it, but they’re honestly? probably in poverty. Or at least, really flipping close to it. They lived always on that edge, always stressing about having to move again and about money. Even if they’re trying to make the most of it. Even if they had enough to get by after Syndrome and everything. They didn’t have enough to really live, just… survive.
And the guy who meets them not only wants to help repeal the law, but he wants to give them a LIFE. He gives them a house to live in, free of charge. He pays Helen (or at least pays for groceries and bills and the like) for them so that Bob, Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack can live a comfortable life in a safe place for their powers to be used and practiced while Helen works to make life better not JUST for them, but for all super heroes.
It’s a wonderful offer. One that’s absolutely too good to be true! But the one who proposes it is so genuine with wanting it and literally his ONLY stipulation is that they work to help him change the law, starting with Elastagirl, and that Helen can’t be with her family for a little while. Not until the next phase of the plan arrives, anyway- but when that happens they’d all be able to live together again, no longer in hiding and living comfortably.
(We’re not including his sister’s motives in this, because the offer didn’t come from both of them. It genuinely came from HIM, and she just went along with it and used that to her advantage.)
And during this whole thing, Bob is struggling with the idea of himself. His self image is this hero who helps stand up for the weak!!! The one people count on and rely on!!! Heck, he literally took the first chance he could to get to BE a hero again, not even questioning the authenticity behind the robot and the island. Before that, he was showing up to robberies and other villainy shenanigans looking like a LITERAL BAD GUY just so that he could get a TASTE of that again!
And when a third chance shows up? He’s told he can’t do it. He’s told he has to stay at home and wait with the kids.
Bob was BORN to be the hero. It’s his life’s calling! What he lives for, what he strives to do! We see this all throughout the first movie, and for him to be told “not yet”, for him to be told to do the complete opposite absolutely destroys him.
What is he if not a hero??? What is he if not the guy who saves people in need???
He’s a father.
But he’s never really DONE that before. He was always out finding a job, out working. Helen was the one who stayed home.
Some people took this in the way that “he didn’t like the fact that Helen got to go out first because she should be “staying home with the kids””, but that is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE.
He and Helen are superhero partners! He didn’t tell her what was really going on in the first movie because he knew she’d say no and stop him. He knew she wouldn’t approve. Not because she shouldn’t be out in the field, but because he doesn’t want his chance taken from him.
Bob’s not upset because their roles are reversed, he’s upset because she’s out there and he’s not out there with her. He’s upset because in order for him to do his calling without ruining everything, he has to wait and leave her out there alone.
And he’s frustrated because while Helen is doing what she needs to do, he has to do something he’s never EVER done before. Bob doesn’t have the practice and experience Helen has at being a stay at home parent. His frustrations? All valid. He’s never had to before. He’s, quite literally, a fish out of water.
But he’s trying his best anyway! He doesn’t let his anger and frustration stop him from trying to be a good dad. He makes SO MANY MISTAKES, but he tries so hard.
Even as he’s sitting there thinking about fighting villains out on the street with his wife, even as he’s wishing he could be with her and jealous that he can’t be there. He struggles, but he learns. And that’s not something we often see with parental figures in media. He tries his best to keep his frustrations and struggles separate from raising his kids and being the parent they need.
Because he’s a good dad. Even if he’s not the best stay at home parent right away. Even if it’s a learning curve. He’s a good dad, and he’s trying his hardest to do his best. He even gets burnt out from it and has to reach out and ask for help with Jack-Jack, because he wants what’s best for them.
I’d expand on it more, but honestly those are just my favorite parts of the movie.
I could go on about the other supers and what their appearance means (both for the world/world building and to Helen specifically), about Evelyn and her brother’s different reactions to the parents (Evelyn’s older sibling needing to parent/guide the younger sibling mentality, their parents and the supers and everything that happened there in general), and Edna.
Because they’re all great!!! They’re all SOSOSOSO GOOD!!!!
But then we’d be here all night LOL!!!

Last half of Phase 3! The one I've been waiting for! Let's go!
Black Panther: I don't know if it comes from a place of bias where I'm just excited to see a black superhero movie in the marvel/avengers franchise, but I really enjoyed this movie. It definitely could've besn shorter though. We didn't need a movie over two hours. I liked the antagonist again because once again it doesn't come from nothing. It made sense. I understood both sides. I understand the actor who played T'Challa died, but I'm actually interested in the sequel. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't take inspiration from Lion King. Marvel movies still haven't made me cry, but that end fight made me a little sad.
Infinity War: Ahhhhhh, here it is! What I've been waiting for! This movie did nothing, but piss me off. But they did get a few teardrops out of me from the "I don't feel so good, Mr. Stark." But you can't tell me with how close everybody was to each other, no one didn't inhale a little human dust.
Captain Marvel: Apparently this isn't crucial to endgame so I'm going to watch this after
Endgame: 3 HOURS??? I hate time travel, inception, and heist type movies. But somehow they made it work where it wasn't absolutely hateable. I'll be honest I actually did cheer during the final battle sequence. And more than a few tears were taken out of me. This was a decent wrap up for the avengers.
I finished the avengers film series (for the most part shhhh) and... It wasn't the greatest thing I've watched. In fact, I have a lot of complaints. But I know the people reading this are going to be fans so let me just say some good parts. Visuals/CGI was incredible. They intertwined the universes very well. Their marketing was good to hype people up for the next movie.
However, I think they just stopped understanding the characters they wanted to portray. Like it won't be exactly like the comics, I understand. But it felt like the characters weren't solidly maintained. Some things felt out of character, personalities kept switching, and it started to get sloppy that the characters felt two dimensional by the end of the series. Once again, my opinion. My take on this. And another thing! Always know your audience. Despite what anyone thinks, every movie has a certain audience it's intended for. Of course other audiences might find interest in it, but you specifically focus on the audience that you wanted to watch. My guess for the intended audience at the beginning of this is white males probably 20-40 years old. Presumably straight. And then the intended audience started going everywhere. It definitely took a turn to kid audiences, but also trying to keep that original audience. And also sometimes it seemed for female audiences (presumably straight). It worked out for them, I guess. But like it really irritated me because if you intend for a certain audience, you need to try and maintain that. I lost interest when it seemed like they were trying to please everybody or switched intended audience. By the end, I genuinely can't tell who this series is for.
But it was a chill series for the most part. Probably won't watch any of the solo movies again. Maybe I could watch The Avengers, Winter Soldier (not technically solo to me, and Infinity War. But like I can't go through the other ones again. This is probably not the outcome you guys wanted from me, but from the start I said I'm not a fan of superhero movies. So... Probably wasn't going to change much with this. But I can definitely appreciate the franchise's costuming, design, and behind the scenes stuff! This is the end to my avengers binge watch! Thank you for being a part of the journey!

"and only think about her then, when even his shadows had gone to sleep"
His shadows skittered back at the sound. They'd always been prone to vanish when she was around ".
"let his cold rage rise to the surface, the rage he only ever let Rhysand see"
"Her breath curled in front of her mouth and one of his shadows darted out to dance with it before twirling back to him."
"Even his shadows had calmed. As if content to lounge on his shoulders and watch".
"and though the shadows kept him company, as they always had, as they always would".
But Death hovered nearby. Nesta felt it, saw it, a shadow thicker and more permanent than any of Azriel’s.
"She glimpsed black boots. Dark, scale like armor over a tall, muscled body. Wings. Great black wings. A demons wings". But the male face that stared through the mists, grave and lethal.....it was beautiful, despite the fact that his hazel eyes held no mercy."
SJM was very evasive about Azriel’s shadows and whether they're sentient as we saw with the HOW.
I find it extremely curious that they were not noted by Bryce upon her arrival in Prythian. She might have said something along the lines of "shadows like Cormac" but there was zero mention of them. She addresses his scarred hands in a later paragraph but again, nothing of the shadows.
If you've seen Infinity War and Endgame, Bruce Banner goes through an identity crisis with the Hulk. The directors say this:
"But I think ultimately what it is, is that he's tired of playing hero to Bruce Banner.". It’s really the notion that the Hulk and Banner have a very dysfunctional relationship, which was explored even further in Thor: Ragnarok. And I think that relationship is starting to strain between the two of them and the Hulk is not interested in playing the hero to Banner anymore," Joe Russo said. "I don’t know if the Hulk sees the value in the relationship. They both want to control Hulk’s body. The Hulk brings fighting and strength to the table and he’s not quite sure what Banner is bringing yet. So, I think this is becoming a stubborn push and pull between two very despaired personalities stuck in one body."
And I wonder if we'll see something similar going on with Az and his shadows. They don't seem to always agree with Azriel’s decisions (they try to disappear around Elain yet Az has some control over them (having them prepared to strike when he's angry over Elain and Mor, having them assist with Elain's Solstice gift). They are curious and playful with Gwyn but we see that they are only capable of interacting with her as Az interacts with her.
They seem to have some independent desires that are separate from Az at the moment.
And just as the Hulk only returned for Bruce Banner when Bruce accepted that the Hulk had his own mind while still being a part of him (rather than something Bruce could simply control when it was convenient for him), I could see the shadows only returning to Az when their joint interests merged. When Az stops running from who he is, trying to behave a certain way so he's a match for someone like Elain, when he accepts his darkness and realizes that these sentient shadows and his own desires need to match in order for them to coexist.

Ramblings: Tom Holland's career
I'm going to do a couple of other posts about Insomniac's Spider-Man 2, I played it the week it came out and I've just been watching clips and videos and I loved it. But anyway, this is about Tom Holland.
So, I've been of the opinion that while Tom is a fantastic actor, he keeps choosing projects (or his agent is) that he's either too good for, or the writing for them is less than stellar.
So here is a list of his films that I've seen. I haven't seen The Crowded Room but I heard it wasn't good but that Tom was good in it, which isn't surprising, story of his life I think.
The Impossible Lucas Bennett - First live action film, he's fantastic in this, should have been nominated. Made me cry.
How I Live Now Isaac - Weird little movie but he's good in it. Also made me tear up.
In the Heart of the Sea Thomas Nickerson - I forget about this one but he's fine it, the movie is fine.
Captain America: Civil War Peter Parker / Spider-Man - His Spider-Man debut and though he has a small part, he's great. Great debut.
The Lost City of Z Jack Fawcett - He plays the older version of the son and it's sad what's implied that happens to them but he's fine in this. His little mustache though had me cackling.
Pilgrimage The Novice / Brother Diarmuid - This movie is interesting and good and he's very good in it. Apparently while filming this, he and Jon Bernthal were sending in their tapes for Spider-Man and The Punisher lol.
Spider-Man: Homecoming Peter Parker / Spider-Man - Great solo film, felt like a John Hughes movie wrapped in comic book pajamas. I really love his suit, I guess we call it the "Stark Suit" since in the games, that's what it's called.
The Current War Samuel Insull - I don't remember him in this movie at all.
Avengers: Infinity War - Loved him in this, still wish he got to interact with Steve more than he did. I don't like the Iron Spider suit that much, but his scene with the snap was great, they knew who they had and capitalized on it.
Avengers: Endgame - Not in this one as much as IW, but I liked the scene where he has the gauntlet and he says "Hi, I'm Peter Parker" and Carol is like "Hey Peter Parker..."
Spider-Man: Far From Home - I feel like people are really hard on this movie, I love it. It was my fave Spidey movie for a while. I really loved the whole Mysterio thing. There are some things I might have wanted done differently but I overall loved it. I also love his Upgraded Suit and I liked how he used his intelligence to fight at the end.
Spies in Disguise Walter Beckett - I thought this was cute, it was fun and he does a great job with voice acting.
Dolittle Jip - the movie was not good and his role is small, but the voice acting was fine.
Onward Ian Lightfoot - Cute movie, made me tear up, the voice acting was really good. Love the brother relationship in this.
The Devil All the Time Arvin Russell - This should have been a mini series but he's good in it.
Cherry Cherry - Not a good movie but he's fine. He does despair very well lol.
Chaos Walking Todd Hewitt - Not a good movie, lots of potential, might have worked better as a tv series since it's a book series. Also, should have been made in the boom of YA dystopian movies or maybe now thanks to The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes coming out. But he's fine it.
Spider-Man: No Way Home - Great movie, really fun, the emotional aspects of this movie he does so well. Yes it sucks that none of the villains in this movie are HIS villains but it just goes to show that he needs to have his own Green Goblin, can you imagine the PTSD that would come from that?
Uncharted Nathan Drake - I actually very much like this movie, I watch it often on Netflix lol. It's probably a movie I've put on repeat. It's not great but it's not as bad as people were saying. I've only played maybe 2 hours of the first game so I'm not nostalgic lol. I think he's good in it, and it's the first time I looked at him and was like "oh... he's an adult" and was attracted to him lol. I think he's handsome but he always just skewed young to me but after this, I was like... oh that's a man.
A lot of his career is Spider-Man and maybe he doesn't like that anymore, maybe he feels like he's being stuck since his Non Spider-Man movies haven't been well received, but I don't think that's the case. I feel like he isn't stuck, he just needs to take this break he said he wanted to take, and reevaluate his choices.
And when he's ready, he needs to be in a Romantic Comedy (Rom-Com), like a pure Rom-Com. Also, let him keep his own accent, I know this man is British lol but I haven't seen him use his own accent in a movie in a while. He can be a college student, or a young adult just trying to find love. Put him and Zendaya in a rom-com together, capitalize more on their chemistry lol. But not really, I'm just kidding, I just couldn't think of anyone but Saoirse Ronan would be good!
Let him do a road trip brother movie with Jamie Bell, since they look so much alike. Or let him do an action drama with Jamie Bell lol. Or some kind of family drama movie with Jamie Bell. Do something with Jamie Bell.
I know he's going to be playing Fred Astaire soon, which that will be interesting. He'll be dancing, which we know he can do, and singing, which can he still do well? Not that Fred Astaire could sing so it doesn't really matter. But do a musical for fun, something light.
If he wants to do something gritty, then that's okay, oooooo he should do a horror film. That'd be interesting to see.
I think he needs to not worry about doing franchise things right now. Just let Spider-Man be the franchise, because Chaos Walking and Uncharted didn't turn out the way I guess they were hoping though I think Uncharted could get a sequel. Shoot for 2026 because then Tom will be 31 or so and people can stop complaining that he's too young.
But I just feel like, he's too talented to not act anymore. I want to see him in more things, I want to see him win. I think he wins as Peter Parker/Spider-Man even with his detractors, I like him a lot.
As for Spider-Man, after finishing Spider-Man 2 and how they handled the symbiote (which I have plenty to say about that too), I really want to see Tom Holland's Spidey tackle that storyline. They already set it up by Tom Hardy's Venom leaving behind a piece of the symbiote in Tom's world. Plus, with where we left him, he's pretty vulnerable I'd say. I think he would do it so well, I'm not sure how much more of Spider-Man he has in him, but I need at least one more trilogy from him *cries*. If the MCU and Sony were smart, which in some aspects, they're clearly not lol, they would give Tom another trilogy, or at least 4 or 5 more movies and in one of them, introduce Miles and then bam, a clear out for Tom to leave (they could even have another Peter from another universe appear who isn't Tom if they want to keep a Peter) and have Miles for a while.
But anyway, I wish the best for Tom Holland's career, he's too talented and he deserves some movie wins, that aren't Spider-Man. Rom Com I feel like is the best course corrector to do. Even if it just ends up on Hulu... like have ya'll seen Rye Lane?
But just some ramblings that I've had on my mind for a while.

GOTG 3 Review (done by the characters I care about)
Disclaimer: I didn't watch the Christmas special
Peter: Has a complete alcoholism arc in the first ten minutes for some reason? It's implied he's been drinking a lot since Endgame and then, like 15 minutes in, he says out loud "This wouldn't've happened if I hadn't been drinking" and then that's just the end of it? My brother in Christ, this movie is 2 and a half hours long, maybe cut that bit aye?
He is very much just another character in this entry. Most of his lines could easily be given to Mantis or Nebula and nothing would really change. Chris Pratt looks visibly unenthused to be here most of the time.
(New) Gamora: Honestly, could've been left out of the MCU entirely since her death in Infinity War. Zoe Saldana is the best part of every MCU film she's been in.
In this film though, she starts off with the Ravagers >> maybe learns that she's a slightly better person than she thought >> goes back to the Ravagers.
She's basically just sort of "also there" for the whole film, and is often just acting as a foil for Peter's arc (which, btw, is realising that this woman who looks like his dead girlfriend isn't actually his dead girlfriend; a fact he already knows).
Idk man, it's weird. I think Zoe just contractually had to be in this one?
Rocket: Is very much the main character of this film, but spends a good two-thirds of it asleep. You mainly see him in flashbacks where he's being abused/experimented on by the film's villain.
It's a very classic James Gunn thing I think; take a small and helpless guy and make the audience empathise with him because of how small and helpless he is. I guess it's not super nuanced in that way, but it's not necessarily an unenjoyable story for him.
It was weird that they decided to give us his origin in what is apparently the final entry of this trilogy though?
Like, "you've loved this character for 9 years now and this might be the last chance you get to see him and his friends all together again! How about we have sleep the entire time and, instead, explain exactly how he became who he was when you met him 5 movies ago!". It's kind of just silly (Dan Harmon articulates this idea really well here at 0:35-0:51).
Nebula: Gets more screen-time and characterization in this film, still not the most interesting character tho :/.
I also don't think that Karen Gillian can act :(. Would much rather have OG Gamora over her
Drax: Still just relegated to unfunny comic relief. His thing in the first movie was that his culture didn't have metaphors and he was a little careless/happy-go-lucky; he wasn't an idiot.
Ever since then? He has exclusively been an idiot.
Don't care, but feel sorry that Dave Bautista still has to play this role, even though he does very well in it <3
Groot: Again, hasn't been interesting since the first movie. He used to be this sort of mysterious, ancient, gentle giant type of character, but he's basically been just a type of sci-fi set dressing in all the movies since then.
I know James Gunn has said he's a brand new Groot from the one we see in that movie, but it's like... why? Compare the scenes of OG Groot to literally any scene of Gunn-written Groot and tell me which one is the more interesting character.
Adam Warlock: Surprisingly good. Unfortunately, he's that same James Gunn character of grown-up person with the mind of a child (think Killer Sharl in Suicide Squad), but it kinda works in this? I like that they let Will Poulter keep his accent and I look forward to seeing him written by more competent writers.

Summary:
A year has passed since the Snap. As you look to find a fresh start in life, you end up in the wrong place at the wrong time. A small cult dedicated to the newly revitalized Norse religion chooses you as a sacrifice with the belief that this will give Thor and the other gods the strength to undo what Thanos has done. What you don't know is that human sacrifices come with a powerful magic — those who are sacrificed become linked with the god they have been given to.
It's been a millennia since a human was sacrificed to one of the gods. You've been bound to Loki.
CHAPTER 7
You blinked in stunned silence as you processed the battle that fizzled out. It was jarring to hear the clanging of sword on dagger and the grunts and shouts of two angered gods and then… nothing. But where did they go? Would Loki find Freya and continue the dispute elsewhere in the realm? You worried for each of their safety.
The day was still young and beautiful, but the idea of going back in the pool to swim didn’t feel right. Some Vikings ventured back up the hill once the danger had passed as you retreated down it and back to the hall. The combination of the minor hike, swimming, and watching such a stressful event left you famished.
After a quick meal, the search for the goddess turned up no luck. She wasn’t to be found in any of the common communal spots. If she was in her room you would never know because there was no answer when you knocked on her door, but she wasn’t the type to sulk after a fight. The whole of the realm was abuzz about the commotion between the two gods, some saying it was the most exciting thing to happen in Folkvangr in the last three hundred years. It was nearing night now, the pink and orange sky dulling into a dark purple.
The realm is small, someone was bound to have seen her or Loki. While you asked around, many said they saw Loki wandering about in quite a mood and they were sure to steer clear of him. There was no mention of bloodshed anywhere. So while neither of the gods were hurt, Freya was still missing in action.
It was times like now that you wished phones were here. Everything is close enough that you could walk or teleport to the person you wanted to speak with, but it was so inconvenient when you didn’t know where to find them. A simple “hey where are you?” text would be a lifesaver.
There are ravens that fly around delivering messages, but they are so rarely needed and you didn’t know how to approach one. You also didn’t want a finger bitten off.
As you wandered down an area of Folkvangr hall you hadn’t yet explored, through a window you saw Loki below. Though you couldn’t see his face, his body language clearly spelled out pissed off. Your next thought was a bad idea, but Loki would know better than anybody where she might have gone.
When you came downstairs and outside, you heard grunts coming from the man who was taking his anger out on some trees outside. You watched one topple over, its weight bringing another tree down that was unfortunate enough to be in its fall path.
You approached Loki from the side. When you finally came in view of his peripherals his head turned to you.
“Leave, human,” he snarled.
“Where’s Freya?” you demanded.
“Freya,” he spat. “Has left Folkvangr.”
You considered what that meant.
“Why? She didn’t get hurt, did she?” you asked.
Loki laughed an angry, spiteful laugh. You took a step back. “No, but don’t fret, she never leaves her realm for long.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“She is fine. Fled to keep her precious Vikings out of harm’s way.”
If what he said was true, you calmed a bit.
“Well, if she’s gone you can find a way to leave, then.”
“Don’t you see, girl? It’s impossible to leave without the wench’s blessing. A year’s research and I am no further along now than I was when I first arrived.” The look on his face was murderous.
“I don’t believe you’ve already given up.”
Loki stalked to you. The fury in his eyes alone could have killed you where you stood. He cocked his head to the side.
“Why do you care?”
“I know what it’s like to feel helpless.”
“I am not helpless,” he hissed.
“No, you’re not. That’s what I’m saying.” You were shaking and you hoped he couldn’t detect it. An angry god was towering over you and he could snap at any second. Why were you doing this?
“You’re not helpless,” you repeated. “You’re one of the smartest people I know, and I’m sorry Freya isn’t helping you. She should let you leave. I would help you if I could.”
“It doesn’t matter now anyway,” he said with gritted teeth.
“You should keep trying. I haven’t given up on my search for a spell to unbind me from you. You shouldn’t give up your search either, especially if what you say about your plan is true.”
Loki had a look like he was piecing you together. He reached his hand out and you froze. It dropped limp to his side.
He spoke for the first time without malice or anger: “Leave me, human,” his voice quiet.
An urge to comfort him in some way overcame you, but in his current mental condition any wrong move might set him off.
“Bye, then,” you muttered out of earshot, and back you returned to Folkvangr hall.
The next morning, unsure what to do with yourself since as far as you knew; magic lessons with Loki were postponed until he got his rage checked. Freya was still gone. You could always try befriending some Vikings, but you envisioned forty different ways that could go wrong. Instead, you decided to swing by the library. You pulled out the book you’d spotted when you first arrived. The Major Houses of Asgard, it was titled. Inside, you read the family histories of the Asgardian royal family. Some entries on notable rulers and members of the family caught your eye but you skimmed most. When you got to the current family, the house of Odin, you read each of their birth dates, their accomplishments, their personality traits.
First came Odin, then Frigga; his wife and Loki’s mother. In her portrait her eyes were kind, her smile warm. Out of instinct you could tell she was a loving woman. After her came Thor, the charismatic god of thunder and one of your favorite Avengers. Loki’s entry as the secondborn was last and included a picture of him as an adult, but considerably younger. His hair was gelled back and barely reached lower than his ears. Each portrait was painted accurately enough that it could easily fool one into thinking it was a photograph. Under Loki’s arm held his golden horned helmet. There was a gleam of pride and happiness in his eyes. The man in the picture was completely different from the man you were getting to know. What happened to turn him so angry and fearsome?
You barely started on the paragraph below when the man in question spoke behind you.
“Reading up on your history?”
You jumped and shut the book out of reflex. The tug in your chest might actually be useful if it warned you of Loki’s presence before he tried to scare you because no matter how many times he did it, it was going to get you every time. Loki raised an eyebrow and the book reopened to the exact page you were on. His hands clasped behind his back, he came closer, trapping you between the table and himself as he looked over your shoulder. His head bent down, inches next to your face to snoop at what you’d been reading.
“Why read a book on my family when I am a primary source on it?”
You scooted away from him so you could breathe. “Because any time I ask you something I’m either teased or I don’t get a straight answer.”
He pointed at his chest. “God of lies.”
You rolled your eyes. You proceeded to ask your questions anyway.
“Are you really a thousand years old?”
“Yes.”
“How old are you here?” you pointed to the portrait of Loki in the book.
He examined it before speaking. “Eight hundred, maybe. I don’t remember.”
You looked between Loki and the portrait of him in the book. He eyed you quizzically. You blushed under his gaze.
“Well?” he said.
“Well what?”
“Something is on your mind, are you going to spit it out?”
You sighed, talking more to the picture than to him, not noticing that you traced your finger over his image on the page as you did so. “You look so happy here.”
Loki quirked an eyebrow. “...And?”
You shut the book. “What happened? You seemed so innocent there.”
“I can assure you I was far from innocent,” he said, a mischievous tone behind his smile.
“You know what I mean.”
He almost sighed. “Not today, human.”
“...And your brother and parents.”
You wanted to say more but you at the mention of them something changed in Loki’s body language. Quickly, you changed subjects.
“Sorry. You said Freya will be back soon?”
“Yes. She never leaves for long. In the meantime, I am spending as much time possible finding out how to leave, ideally before she returns.”
He really is set on leaving, then.
“To Valhalla?”
“Yes.”
You nodded solemnly.
“What?” he asked.
“When you leave, I guess I’ll die, or wither away, or however it works. Before I came here, I just wanted a fresh start. That’s all I wanted. And then this happened.”
Loki’s eyebrows furrowed briefly. “Start over?”
“The Snap. It took my family, my friends. I was miserable.”
You blinked away tears before they had a chance to fall. “I was going to get away from all that and move away from the painful memories. I guess I’m stuck here, and when you leave, whatever comes after that.”
There was silence in the library for a time as your words hung in the air. You expected Loki to pity you or more likely, leave.
He spoke quietly. “Keep searching for the unbinding spell. In the meantime, train with me this afternoon.”
You nodded. When you were sure he was gone, you opened the heavy book back to the page with the entry on Loki. You roamed over the features of a man who had yet to face an unnamed hell.
---
Instead of meeting in the fields just outside the palace, you met Loki in the courtyard. Similar to the garden in that it had trees and bushes of flowers all around, it also had stone benches, statues of people you did not know the identities of, a few tables for eating, and a large space you and Loki could practice some magic.
Instead of teaching you anything new, Loki had you review the spells you have already been taught. Everything went by smoothly, except when you attempted to summon the last of a list of items from thin air.
The last thing to summon was a raven. You had grown rather adept at summoning spells, but as you pictured the bird in your mind you became distracted by the wind blowing papers out of the hands of a woman leaving the courtyard to go back indoors. You realized your mistake at not concentrating too late when a gust of wind whooshed underneath you, propelling you into the air. Recollection of any kind of magic that might save you or cushion your fall went blank. You screamed as you came plummeting down, and rather than colliding with the hard ground of the cement of the courtyard floor, you were caught in Loki’s arms. Bridal style.
Dazed, hair messy, heart pumping, you looked up at the god who was not hiding any aspect of the fact that your blunder amused him. You blushed not only at the fact that he was making fun of you and the words just hadn’t left his mouth yet, but also the fact that he was still holding you. And gingerly at that. He didn’t drop you and let your ass hit the hard floor like you half thought he might.
“I have never seen a summoning spell backfire like that, human. What in the realms were you thinking of?”
You thought about how ridiculous you must have looked right now, and how your screams sounded as you were thrown into the air. Giggles bubbled in your chest. Loki let you have your laugh. Afterward there was silence as the two of you looked at one another while not knowing what to say next. The feel of the bond and butterflies in your stomach from both your fall and the man holding you felt like an adrenaline rush. You wanted to touch his face. For a moment, the way his head hovered so close to yours, you thought he might kiss you.
No, that’s ridiculous.
“Thank you for catching me,” you said, finally remembering your words.
The amusement sapped from his features and he put you back down.
“It was nothing,” he replied.
You had pretty much become accustomed to Loki’s emotional whiplash, but this was just… different. Being mischievous one moment and angry the next, fine, you expected that from him. But now, being mischievous but cold and distant. What was up with him?
You tried your hand at summoning a raven again, this time not allowing outside events to affect you. The dark bird squawked at the pair of you, then flew toward a nearby tree. Loki gave you quiet near-praise or emotionless criticism, which was odd, given he loved to tell you how wrong you were getting it.
“Can I ask you something?” you said, needing some kind of conversation.
“And what is that?”
“If you don’t want to answer, just say you don’t. I’ll understand, just don’t blow up on me.”
Loki quirked an eyebrow, but you took it as a signal to continue.
“Why did you attack Earth?”
“I thought it was obvious. I wanted to rule Midgard.”
“Yes, but why?”
“It’s a long story that I think you’d rather not hear. Old news. Boring, really.”
You sat down on a bench. “I’m sure it’s not.”
“Why do you want to know?”
“I’ve been getting to know you these past weeks.” You remembered the portrait of young (well, younger) Loki, the Loki with bright eyes who seemed to have a future ahead of him, but you didn’t mention that. “I’m just trying to understand, that’s all. But if you don’t want to, I won’t ask again.”
A moment of quiet passed before Loki began his tale.
“I met Thanos. Met is a generous word. More accurately: he found me and tortured me. When I proved my worth to him he gave me an infinity stone so I could use it to gain him a second one, the Tesseract, the Space Stone. In return I would rule Earth. After that, you know the rest.”
You screwed up your eyebrows. “But what was Earth to you? Why would you even want it?”
“I was never going to be Asgard’s king.”
You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. Your voice went up an octave. “So you thought you would come and enslave my planet?”
“I was hardly going to rule Jotunheim, the wasteland…” he muttered.
“Jotunheim?” you fumbled with the name.
“I’m Jotun, not Asgardian.”
You gave Loki a look as if you were supposed to know what that means. He looked away in disgust. He crossed his arms before he spoke again.
“I am not Thor’s brother, I am not Odin and Frigga’s son. Not by blood.” He was pained to continue. “For a millennia I was led to believe I was second in line for the throne. Instead I’m a monster, a freak.”
“I don’t understand…”
His hurt was palpable. You knew he had a story. This was deeper than anything you expected. You wanted to understand, you did. What did he mean by freak? Was it his magic? No. Magic was common on Asgard, Loki said so himself. The fact that he was willing to divulge this much information was unanticipated.
“Jotuns,” the god sneered. “Are a race of frost giants. Tall, terrible creatures fueled by greed and hate and violence that live on a planet as unwelcoming as they. Asgardian children are told the stories of the frightening beasts who hate Asgard and its prosperity. I discovered I am the son of the king of those monsters. Odin took me as a child to protect a feeble treaty between the two realms.”
Loki’s eyes appeared glassy. He did not look at you. You weren’t sure if he waited for your response, or if he was stuck somewhere inside himself. Was it safe to pull him back out? The faint rise and fall of his chest was the only indication he was not one of the courtyard’s statues.
You weighed every detail he told you carefully in your mind. Of course, you wouldn’t understand all of it; Asgard was an entirely different world. And Loki, Loki was tangled up in the ugly side of its politics.
The urge to want to comfort him again arose. But words could never undo a lifetime of trauma. The best you could do was try.
“How long did you think you were Asgardian?”
“Centuries,” he uttered.
“Centuries you thought you were Asgardian, but all that time Odin let you grow up believing your own heritage is a race of monsters?”
There was no confirmation by him verbally. You stood up and tentatively placed your hand on his, not caring about how the bond might affect you. Finally, his eyes found their way back to you.
“What did you do?”
“Thor was banished to Earth just before the truth was laid out to me. Odin fell sick and I took the throne. In my rage, I sought to destroy Jotunheim, the world so hated by my people. When Thor returned to Asgard we fought. When Odin finally recovered, I realized I would never be accepted by him. I left.”
You wanted to cry for him.
“I’m so sorry. I can’t even… begin to imagine what that must have been like. What it is like. Your father was cruel to do such a thing to you.”
“Yes, well, I was always his second-favorite. I should have been used to it.”
“Loki…”
Loki wriggled his hand away out of your grasp. He distanced himself from you by taking a step back. You frowned at his words and his sudden reservedness. You thought it was the end of the conversation and maybe even the lesson, but Loki spoke again.
“I may have found a way to leave Folkvangr and get to Valhalla.”
Your frown deepened at his change in subject. There was obviously more, much more, he needed to heal from, but you didn’t press it. The thought of him having found a way to get to the other realm of fallen warriors intrigued you.
“I may require you for it to work,” Loki continued.
“Well, good. I wasn’t going to let you leave while I’m still bonded to you.”
He seemed surprised.
“You really think I was gonna stay here and mope around? If I had to fight you to make you take me with, I would have.”
He almost smiled. “I can kill you easily, but I don’t doubt you would try.”
“Yes, I would try, and I don’t doubt you can kill me,” you grinned. “When are we leaving?”
“Before Freya returns.”

The new AU where Vali is a sorcercer is so cute! How would the Avengers and other people that knows Dr. Strange react to him being fatherly to Vali?
This is going to be an "everyone survived Infinity War/Endgame" AU because I needed Tony to be the one reacting to this. Hope that's good with you all.
Thank you for the ask!
---
Tony walked into the conference room at Avengers HQ to see Váli sitting at the table. Crayons were scattered all around her and her legs, not long enough to reach the floor, swung under the chair.
“Um, hi,” he said.
Váli looked up.
“Hi, Mr. Stark,” she said.
“What are you doing here?” he asked.
Váli looked back at her coloring as she spoke.
“Mama and Papa are busy with Uncle Fandral and Nari’s on a date with Morgan,” Váli said. “So, Master Dr. Strange said he could watch me.”
Tony blinked.
“Sorry, your brother’s on a date with who?” he said.
Before Váli could respond, Strange walked into the room.
“This would be so much easier if he could just learn to use a phone,” he muttered. “Okay, Váli, I think I’m done here.”
Váli jumped up from her chair with the drawing she was working on and rushed over to him.
“I drew Yggdrasil!” she said. “Look!”
“Doctor,” Tony said.
Strange paused. “Afternoon, Stark.”
“You’re not looking!” Váli said.
Strange looked at the drawing.
“It’s very nice, Váli,” he said. “Are we ready to pack up?”
“That’s Ratatoskr and Níðhöggr,” she said, pointing to a squirrel and snake on the tree. “The burned branch is where Asgard used to be, and that’s Grandfather Odin hanging there!”
She pointed to a stick figure hangman coming off the black colored branch, wearing an eyepatch and a long, gray beard.
“I see,” Strange said. “But we need to pack up now, okay?”
“I gotta go to the bathroom,” Váli said.
Strange sighed. “Fine. But then we need to leave.”
Váli put the drawing down on the table and rushed off to find the bathroom. Tony was doing everything not to burst out laughing. Strange shot him a look.
“She seems to be a handful,” Tony said.
“She is a very promising student of the Mystic Arts and—”
“No, I get it,” Tony said. “Thor told us all about how you’re going to stop the end of the world by teaching some card tricks to a princess.”
“How long has it been since someone called you an arrogant jackass?” Strange asked.
“At least a week,” Tony said. “You might want to watch your language around the kid though, they hear way more than you think.”
“Okay, look—”
Before Strange could make a real objection, the alarms went off. The screen at the end of the room lit up to show a CNN broadcast of New York City. A large, many tentacled beast was climbing up the sheer glass of One World Trade Center, its single eye darting around as it looked over Manhattan.
“Shuma-Gorath,” Strange said.
“We’ve got this,” Tony said. “We’ll call Wong, you deal with Little Red.”
“Wong’s exorcising Dormammu out of Mordo right now,” Strange said. “Not exactly something he can stop in the middle of. You need me, and Váli will be just fine.”
Tony sighed. “I get that the kid’s Asgardian, but she’s still just a kid.”
“Except she’s not just a kid,” Strange said.
Váli ran back into the room.
“I didn’t do it!” she said.
“We’re going on a field trip,” Strange said. “You’re gonna need your game face.”
Váli nodded and taking a deep breath, she shifted into a wolf, already full sized, with red Asgardian armor on. She looked up at Strange, her tail wagging.
Tony blinked.
“All right, let’s suit up,” he said.

Because that’s what we would do.
Ok so I’ve been thinking about this for a while.
SO
I (and I’m sure you have too) watched or at least heard of a movie, TV show, book, etc. About aliens coming to earth and trying to take over. Ruin our lives, blow up the Whitehouse (if the movie takes place in the US), take our resources, use us to make their babies etc. etc. tyranny and chaos. Movies like independence day, Alien,  Aliens,  Alien Vs. Predator, The 5th Wave, Avengers, Avengers: Infinity War,  Avengers: Endgame,  Battle Los Angeles, Cowboys and Aliens, so on and so forth. The list goes on.
But what about movies/TV-shows /comic books /stories/ character(s) where the alien or aliens are nice? No fighting, no enslaving humanity, no killing the human race, no kidnapping people and experimenting on them. How many can you think of? Probably not that many. There are a little more than a few though:
- E.T. - Extra Terrestrial
- Earth to Echo
- Arrival
- Paul
- Superman
-  Martian Manhunter (the name is ironic I know but he is a good character (from what I know) in DC comic books))
- Doctor Who
Now, am I missing some, probably. I’m sure there are a lot of characters in within the DC series, and Marvel too maybe (I’m not 100% sure I don’t read marvel that often.) But the point I’m trying to make is that there are more hostile alien movies that non-hostile alien movies. Why?
Why are people so often taking the idea of an extra terrestrial and turning them into monsters? Why make them into a tyrannical off world species that wants to take over the world so badly. ( Also, yes, I have heard stories about aliens experimenting on people and taking them on their ships to be studied like lab rats.) Which is not great, honestly. But back to the point of this post.
Because it’s cool to be the heroes against an oppressive force. Because Sci-Fi is awesome? Yes. Both are very cool. I enjoy watching movies about humanity fighting against aliens as much as any other person would.
But, the question still stands, why do people think that the first thing an alien civilization would do would be to attack?
Because that’s what we would do, people, humanity. (not everyone obviously) Us as a society have been doing that for thousands upon thousands of years and anyone who’s EVER read a history book anywhere, ever. Knows this to be true. So, we put this into our movies, our books, and shows. Because, frankly, we don’t know any better. Us as a society, as a race of humans, as a species. Have been attacking people and other races for centuries.
And since we can’t think of any better. Why would we think that aliens would? But in reality I think, in some cases, that might not be true. If aliens are really smarter than we are or more advanced than we are who says they won’t be look for an alliance, to know that they aren’t alone in the universe either.

marvel study
I’ve been rewatching the Marvel movies, not just out of a fit of profound insanity, but out of an interest in wrestling with exactly what they are, and what’s wrong with them. Their “reputation” has been sinking through online circles like a lead balloon, with a general consensus gathering around the essay Martin Scorsese published in the New York Times back in 2019. In that essay, he highlights the major problem being that these movies, and particularly their ever presence, is regularly dominating the market to the extent that cinema owners don’t want to show alternative and independent fare. This problem has only dramatically worsened since then, with Disney having the resources to weather an endless pandemic and continue to produce movies that may or may not be safe to see in theaters, where their competition has been so scarce that they now stay in theaters for sometimes over 6 months, long enough to bridge the gap until the next one, shattering nearly entirely the illusion of free choice. In that time, “discourse” has continued to chew on the issue of these movies, which always have huge budgets and always deliver financially, but are always the same, and are indeed such whales as to be bullying nearly all other cinema out of existence. This has produced the argument that they are simply “junk food”, which I would agree with - they aren’t really meant to be judged as though they’re groundbreaking art, and it’s fine that they’re “samey” and commercial. Of course, it’s easy to enjoy McDonald’s if you don’t have to work at McDonald’s. I’m not going to pretend as though I have an answer to the issues of consumption under capitalism, though I think most people have come around to the cynical acceptance stage of their lives and realized that their personal choices don’t make a difference, but I digress - what about the movies themselves? Whether they’re trash or art or not, what exactly is going on in them — because, to be frank, Hollywood has generally produced “trash”, regularly, since the inception of the medium, sometimes great, sometimes offensive, sometimes weird or fascinating or simply engaging. I’ve seen the weird diehard nerd accounts that float up to the surface when a lot of people make fun of them and may or may not be real people posit that this “wave” of Marvel movies is going to be remembered as great genre classics 50 years from now. Clearly there’s a degree of cultural disconnect here worth investigating.
To start with, I’m not against comic book movies really at all — I like comic books, their material, their characters, and I’m probably one of the few people actually interested to see what is done in an adaptation with certain ideas. I’ve watched all of these shitty movies and been variably entertained or bored by them or genuinely impressed by some of their more weird and sci-fi influences (I think the Peter Dinklage section in Infinity War is probably the best, whereas everything that happens in Endgame is probably the worst). If you’re against the very principle at this point, I don’t blame you, though I’m probably not going to say anything that interests you. “Iron Man” began with a novel concept — take more or less the performance Robert Downey Jr. did in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, sub in some worse but passable Bendis-esque dialogue, glue it together with some pretty rote Saturday morning cartoon villain and CGI action sequence, and ship it with a recognizable brand name that people might be interested in seeing. It’s pretty easy to look back at the early movies especially and cringe, with them being influenced heavily by the now ubiquitous Favreau and/or Whedon school of filmmaking — quippy, simple, straight-to-the-point dialogue with jokes that will please families and incels, peppered with a lot of sci-fi references and in-jokes that don’t really matter. This embryonic stage of Marvel movie development does interest me though, because it contains a lot of interesting ideas that later get filtered out by raw efficiency - dipping into multiple genres for influence and pacing for example.
While on the topic of “Iron Man”, I could address Marvel’s “politics”. Since it is true that these movies take money directly from the U.S. Defense budget, I don’t think there’s that much argument to be made. The depiction of Captain America driving out Hydra, a supposed secret white nationalist parasite that has infiltrated every section of the American deep security state would sort of be interesting, and probably a lot more liberals would have co-opted it as meaning something had the movie come out two years later, except that that movie rarely even remotely addresses the fact that Hydra are Nazis. It’s only interested in the “spy movie” to crib a few style points and surface-level references — in true Favreau’s can of references fashion, it wants to put in Robert Redford to remind you of his much better spy movies like Spy Games, but it doesn’t want to critically engage with any of the ideas that spy movies concern themselves with, like the problems and paranoia endemic to a surveillance state, the disconnect between deep state administration and democratic governance, and the issues of politically conflicting agendas. You can’t really blame any of these movies for this mistake, though, and I’m sure even reading that I sounded like a cunt, because these movies really wouldn’t have time to do any of that stuff if they tried.
By The Winter Soldier, Marvel movies had fully cut out their own “inefficiencies”, and their pacing had become much like a rollercoaster - less like an “emotional rollercoaster” as people generally use the phrase, but much more like being on a literal rollercoaster. Moments of levity (always humor, and always more or less the same kind of humor - either a too-cute quip back and forth, or the naturalistic conversational kind that would actually be funny given more time to breathe) only exist to provide a brief amount of regulated runway between plot development (exposition) or CGI’d action sequences that are overlong and are nauseating and confusing to watch. By this point, these movies have no true “drag time”, merely the illusion of downtime provided in utilitarian bursts. It’s a nightmare of Whedon-esque wall-to-wall dialogue, a parade of noise. Simply watching the movie and trying to keep the rhythm of it is fine, until the second you are unglued from it, and you realize what it is doing and how it is doing. This is where the critique that Brian Jordan Alvarez mentioned in one stand-up bit is most prescient - “I feel like I missed whatever context there was to justify everything that happens on screen”. I didn’t initially relate to this, being happy to nod along to what was going on on the screen, and doubly contented that whatever little I knew about comics was filling in the gaps of what mattered in the story, but I did more and more the more I watched these movies, and the more they gained in speed over time.
I want to go back to Iron Man for a second, specifically Iron Man 3. Iron Man 3 is still firmly in what I’d say is the “standard definition era” of these movies, before the pacing’s speed increased and the budget given to the CGI increased to the point of being limitless. It still follows the same basic formula, a CGI villain to fit a CGI action sequence, but it does seem to want to genuinely differentiate itself in some ways. It adds at least a degree of novelty to the action by removing the Iron Man suits as consistently as it can from every action sequence, and tries its best to complete a character arc with Tony Stark in what limited time its given to, giving what I would say is a genuinely decent depiction of anxiety in the process. It utilizes its actors for more than a quick shot of their faces in a layer of CGI or an under-a-minute “heartwarming” sequence, and despite being loathed at the time (at least as I remember it) for inducing Marvel fatigue and also having a character named “The Mandarin”, it was, I believe, a very good example of how a movie can succeed within this “structure”. At this point, these movies still have a lot in common with the X-Men movies of the earlier 2000s that they hearken from (with the CGI in Iron Man 3 being especially similarly). While those movies weren’t always seen as great, they never attracted as much of either the attention or ire that Marvel movies now get, despite being fundamentally similar in most ways. Why is that? It could be just the cultural and financial weight of the Marvel-Disney mega-corporation, but I choose to believe the answer is more structural.
X-Men generally takes a more traditional approach to its characters, not unlike (the successful earlier) DC Movies try to tend to do, depicting them as having outsized, larger-than-life personalities that have naturalistic qualities but still are supposedly imposing forces. There was some 4chan post I pretty distinctly remember about this distinction — it had a Rob Liefeld-drawn Civil War-era Captain America as its image, and bemoaned the fact that in comics, comic book characters are near forces of nature, that their impact is felt, whereas in Marvel movies, characters are reduced to having pretty much the same, light-hearted, quippy personality, which makes it feel as though nothing they’re doing really has any stakes. Even though this guy was pretty clearly some kind of freak right-wing chud, I couldn’t help but see his point - when Chris Hemsworth walks out of the room in the MCU’s Civil War after nearly killing Iron Man, I suspect there is supposed to be some kind of emotional weight in that moment that just isn’t there as assigned by the dramatic score. When the moment is more or less taken back 10 minutes later in another jokey sequence, I don’t think anyone is surprised. Captain America is just some guy, Iron Man is just some guy, and Marvel’s gambit on making Civil War interesting in the space of one movie length largely did not work, because these movies give characters, conflicts, and personalities no time to breathe under the unrelenting weight of their pacing and their formulaic structure. The central conflict of there being consequences to superhero behavior provides a particularly jarring disconnect as you’re suddenly supposed to feel torn seeing the hidden casualties in the different angles of sequences that were absolutely just full of nonsense explosions and comedic back-and-forths at the time. In X-Men, the conflict between Magneto and Professor X is perhaps a little rote, but is always significantly felt and at least partially explored from the perspectives of multiple characters throughout the films. In Civil War, I think I could count the lines of dialogue given to the “discussion” about the central point of difference that divides the characters prior to their overlong action sequence fight, and even the characters themselves sound tired of “discussing it” during that brief time, quickly snapping to slightly-more-pointed jokes in the process. Pacing is again the core of the problem, the black hole at the center of these movies, draining away even the chance of their attempts at greater complexity succeeding.
That all said, I still watch these movies, and enjoy them, and even defend them. Why, if they’re supposed cultural heat-death and meaningless and lack substance? Well, I do genuinely find them entertaining, and I am interested in their source material and how they adapt them. I think the newest Doctor Strange movie was really good, and I think Sam Raimi did a lot to try to counterbalance the still-existing pacing issue in that film, and make both a genuinely interesting conflict (well, debatable) and genuinely good and dynamic action in the process. Getting to the fun, sci-fi concepts can be the “point” — I think a lot of comic book fans are actually more interested in Marvel movies now that they approach the territory of the more modern runs, dealing directly with alternate universes, and bizarre clashes between aliens and gods and whatever else. All of this is probably much to the chagrin of the rest of human civilization who is completely exhausted of these films bullying the rest of cinema out of theaters. Would it be best if Disney could simply be written out of existence, preferably by some application of anti-trust law? Yes. Is it an ethical issue to keep watching these films? Probably, but only in so much as like, eating meat is, which is to say, I don’t know, don’t think about it so hard, nothing matters anyway, who cares. In the meantime, I hope whoever’s really in charge of this shit, the cryogenic Eisner-brain puppeting Kevin Feige, will at least allow their directors more basic creative control over these properties, because I still think there is a lot of creative potential for these things to be interesting. By the way, all the TV shows on Disney+ that they made are really bad. Okay, thanks for reading my essay.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Review! full spoilers ahead. Is kinda long...
I thought this movie was good but i cant help but feel a little disappointed. I might get attacked for not liking it because it "DidNt hAVe EnOUgH CAmeOS" but honestly, I could give a flying a fuck about that. What disappointed me most were how they handled the Characters, the magic and the overall story.
Lets go through what I liked first. First we see Dr. Strange and Star Girl getting attacked by a Demon while trying to obtain the book of vishanti. I liked the established relationship between strange and America Chavez. Their relationship, though seen briefly, sets up America's fear of betrayal for the rest of the movie. America Chavez as a character was also really interesting.
Next we see strange at Christine's wedding. This was the portion of the story meant to kick off his arc. I'm all for it. I'm glad he doesn't end up with Christine, and the reasons behind why they are not together make sense.
Wong is honestly perfect in my eyes. 10/10 recommend sorcerer supreme.
The parts where they really stick with the horror theme are very good. Especially the scene in Earth 838 where Wanda is chasing them through the tunnels actually brought me to the edge of my seat.
When Strange Dream walks into the corpse and makes the dark souls into his new cloak caused an eye-gasm. it was beautiful.
Now for what I didn't like. Everything else. I'm not even sure where to start but let's start with the magic. What the hell were those cringy animated monster hands he was conjuring?? I get not using the regular spells and wanting to try something different but good god. When he began to use those spells I immediately knew that this movie was going to disappoint me. Don't even get me started on Wanda. Just like Captain ship-Destroyer, Wanda is Scarlet Energy Blast. She is supposed to be OP as shit but it took her a whole 10 minutes to destroy the fucking kamar-taj??? and only a few seconds to obliterate the illuminati? I'm all for being OP but make it consistent. It's insane to me how they built up this epic take down of the kamar-taj with lines like "it was me being reasonable" only for her to barely do anything. Not everything was bad. There were some good elements from the magic like the iconic maestro battle with sinister strange or... no that's it. That was the best fight scene involving magic.
Next, the illuminati. This was lost potential. These characters are supposed to be established fighters. Smart characters. Best of the best. Honestly, during my first watch of the movie, I get why. This is Wanda being OP, but why didn't Wanda killing BlackBolt fucking kick everyone into fighting mode??? Why did she have to kill him and fucking spaghetti man only for the two women of the group to look at each other as if their assistant brought them the wrong coffee order?? Why didn't wanda give them the same brutal take down? There was potential to actually make a good fighting scene, or to use Wanda's manipulation powers to good use. If you're gonna kill them so easily, make the reactions of others believable.
The characters. As I mention before, Dr. Strange doesn't feel like Dr. Strange. There are a few reasons. So, we know that Dr Strange was a righteous asshole, only to be beat to the ground after his accident. He learned to let go, accept his pain and move onto something that is bigger than anybody. We see him in other movies such as Thor, Infinity War, Endgame and Spiderman No Way Home. Throughout, we establish that he has in fact become wise and has somewhat let go of what he used to be. He's grown and has let himself become the protector of his reality. He is still calculating, and very much understands the weight of his decisions and actions. We see this in infinity war. The problem with this movie is that instead of letting Strange deal with the aftermath of the past few years, the audience is told by other characters. Christine, his old co-worker, America Chavez, the illuminati, 838 christine, fucking wanda. Everyone, at some point, tells strange either that he is a control freak or that he's sad and isnt admitting to it. It's story telling 101, dont tell the audience, let us see his pain. Let us see his physical and moral struggles. That is what this character is based off of, how this character and many others grow. I think this story would have really benefitted if they didnt change how his sister died. In the comics, the sister was sick (I cant remember with what) but it was the reason he became a doctor. I think if they put more focus onto that aspect of the character, a lot of other story flaws wouldn't occur.
America Chavez. I actually think America Chavez was very interesting and good. But again. There are some things when it comes to her story and how it plays into Stranges story that could be reworked. As I said previously, her established relationship added an interesting relationship to our strange. She is untrustworthy of Strange, and frightened. Rightfully so, she's just a kid. I think by emphasizing stranges sister would've added a deeper layer to America and Stranges relationship. It would've been interesting to see him try to protect her and for her to be hesitant to trust him. Past relationships and experiences matter, and if it was utilized would've made for a more interesting story.
Wanda. I liked wanda for the most part. I liked that she has become a villain. I like her reasons and the mcguffins hold on her. However, I think her involvement in Stranges story was too much. She overtook the story. Didnt let the other characters breathe with her strong arc. I think she should've gotten her own movie, OR a season two of wanda vision and we could've seen how the darkhold takes a hold of people, how it manipulates and controls. Her involvement in Strange's story takes away from Strange and... I know that probably wasn't the goal, but it's what happened.
Lastly, another big disappointment for me was the music. Maybe the mouse was annoyed that the theme of Dr. Strange got overused over the past few years but what I missed most was the style. Micheal Giachinno used certain psychadelic elements in the music of Dr. Strange that it played a big role in the actual character. and again, I dont mean the main theme. Michael Giachinno has a way of drawing big emotions with simple music produced by big ensembles but Danny Elfman doesn't pull the same effect. Sometimes you can hear it in the movie but other times it sounded as if this movie was made in the early 2000's. The music itself is not bad by any means but again, doesn't fit the character or established style.
Overall, I DO NOT HATE THE MOVIE. It was good for what it was. I dont think I would put it at my top ten favorite marvel movies but it wasn't bad or horrible. Just a little disappointing. I also feel that there were too many strong characters if that makes sense. Like, stephen, america and wanda all kinda mix mashed together into a soup of random heroes. It didnt let the audience either learn about a new character enough, or experience what the characters are experiencing (i.e strange or wanda). A friend of mine had a good suggestion. Get rid of wanda and put her into her own movie, make sinister strange the main villain, and leave america for the end credit scene/3rd movie. Idk, maybe in another universe.
Rated 6/10

Fanfic Writer ask game! ❤️💥👻🦈🎨
❤️ What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic?
I have quite a few favorite lines, but I think this is one of my favorite-favorites, and it's more than one line. It's from Now is the Winter of Our Discontent Made Glorious, a Frostiron College AU:
Tony had torn his gaze from the pair, his lips parted to speak to Loki about them, but his words turned to icicles on his lips and dropped away. When he'd thought Loki looked magical earlier, it was just the tip of this iceberg that apparently his friend had somehow kept hidden from him until this moment. Magical was entirely understatement. Loki was practically incandescent in the woods, as if they increased the fairy magic he possessed the longer he was in them. Snowflakes that had fallen since they'd come out rested on Loki's black eyelashes, and the cold had brought faint roses to his cheeks. It might sound entirely unscientific, but Loki's whole aura hummed with sorcery that made it even harder for Tony with the feelings that threatened to explode his heart whenever they were together.
💥 What is one canon thing that you wish you could change?
Tony, Loki, and Natasha dying in Infinity War/Endgame. Because fuck that noise.
👻 What is your wildest headcanon?
Do I have wild headcanons? I'm not sure if I do. I know I have headcanons that sometimes coincide with other people's headcanons about characters, and sometimes they're vastly different - especially for characters that some people are just bound and determined to hate. (Not like I don't have a couple of characters that I'm bound and determined to hate myself, so don't think I'm judging heavily or anything.) I guess one of my headcanons (wild or not) is that Charles Xavier knew from the time Bobby was 15 and showed up at the school that he (Bobby) was gay, and he intentionally suppressed his own self-knowledge of himself. I think that he kept it suppressed until the O5 showed up and O5 Jean outed O5 Bobby with it, and then it was pretty much out there. I also think that Charles intentionally suppressed Scott's bisexuality from him so that he could push Scott together with his little favorite (Jean), probably because he figured he could live vicariously though Scott's experience of being involved with her (since it IS canon that Charles Xavier was in love with Jean - blech). I think that Emma knew that Scott was bi (how could she not pick up on all the suppressed feelings for Logan or Kurt or even crushes on Steve and Tony?) as well as knowing that Bobby was gay, but after all the turmoil she watched her brother go through, she, unlike O5 meddlesome Jean, wasn't going to out either one of them and make their lives any more difficult than they already were until they showed signs of being ready to recognize that in themselves.
🦈 Which character is the toughest to write?
In my main fandom (Marvel) - Well, there are characters I haven't written much, so I'm not sure if they'd be tough to write, so I don't really want to say that any of them are particularly tough until I've tried them more - or had a reason to. I feel that T'Challa, as much as I absolutely fucking adore him, would be a little challenging for me to write because he's such an enormous character full of so much grace and eloquence and pride in his place and culture that I would be terrified to do damage if I didn't get him down just right.
In a fandom I love and have only written one teeny-tiny thing for (Hannibal) - Hannibal Lecter. I love listening to him speak (esp Mads' version), I love watching him move, dress, cook. He's got so much about him that I love, and he would be a huge challenge if I ever thought to try writing more for that fandom than what drabble I did for a prompt. He has a way of speaking, a way of accessing his vocabulary, and a way of carrying himself that would probably give me fits to try and mirror in a way that felt right.
🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
If someone were to make fanart of my work that I didn't have to commission, I would be chuffed as hell at any of my fics getting the fanart treatment.
That said, I would LOVE to see fanart for Hemispheres, any and and all of that series would likely produce some gorgeous and fun fanart. I would especially love fanart of the scenes of Tony visiting Loki in his Asgardian cell, reading him poetry. Or any of the battle or aftermath of the battle with the dark elves. Loki being there in place of Frigga would be interesting. Loki's dream-memory sequence where Frigga finds him in that memory, tortured and chained up by Thanos and the two of them speaking through it would be angsty af but gorgeous, I think. Loki coming into the throne room after he wakes up, escorted by Sif, and coming up with the solution to Tony's request to take him back to Earth would be fun though very detailed with all the characters present.
Oh the food fight scene in If it be your pleasure to cross the sleeping green between would be messy and colorful and delicious, esp if the fanart was of the make-out that came out of the end of it, Scott and Steve covered in canned pie filling and a total wreck of Steve's kitchen.
All lost in a wonderland (Stranger in Paradise) - Emma and Steve dancing together at Tony and Loki's Casablanca Halloween party would be gorgeous.
Of everything that stands, the end - The end scene with Bucky and Tony standing in the apple orchard, the apple shared between them, and kissing. Definitely a pretty scene.
