Yestarday I was able to do this pose, my feet were touching the wall but still is a big achievment for me. I was never able to do the pose from a jump and hold it for a few seconds without struggles. I felt so proud of myself that I could do it. I was never super strong and flexible but I'm so happy I'm advancing and doing things I never thought I could do.

I have been doing short yoga practices ranging from 20 mins to one hour tops nearly every day since the beginning of April. The difficulty level has fluctuated but overall I’m at a consistent moderate level of practice.
I never attempt the splits or any major twists/balances since it can be discouraging for me to see how little progress I’ve made.
BUT today I decided to just give the splits a shot and I was SHOCKED. I have never been this close in my life. I’ve seen the steady progress in my back bends and such, but the fact that I hadn’t checked in months and am suddenly this close? It gave me this incredible surge of joy from disbelief. I am so grateful for my consistency even when it seems like nothing is changing.
All things take time. An incredible amount of time. Could I have pushed myself to have gone beyond this point four months ago? Sure. But I also might’ve burnt myself out if I had pushed too hard.
I feel like I have gotten to know myself so much better over the past 7 or so months of consistent yoga practice. Couldn’t speak more highly of giving it a try if you’re able, no matter what level of experience or strength you have.

he actual course itself was fun, relaxed and contemporary yet steeped in ancient knowledge and practice. The emphasis was on paying attention to one’s own experiences, and working within one’s own physical capability.
