Could I plz request a grumpy/sunshine dynamic (reader being the grumpy) for Tamaki, Hikaru and Kaoru?? Tysm!
Hell yeah
If you like my work, you can support me here or here [Anything is appreciated]
Tumblr media
Tamaki Suoh
Your personality does not deter him
In fact, he'll try even harder to be friends with you
He wants you to like him and he'll do anything for you to like him
There is a part of him that doesn't even realize you don't like him, but there will be moments where he'll be like 'What if they don't like me?'
You do eventually tolerate him because-
1. He won't stop trying to be friends with you
2. He has more influence, power, and money and you really can't afford to have him as an enemy
And lastly 3. He's not all that bad to be around
He always does everything in his power to see you smile and/or happy
It makes him giddy and proud that he made you feel that way
He invites you to the Host Club and gets so sad when you don't show up
Although, when you do show up, he ends up neglecting his other guests, so Kyoya limits your time w/ Tamaki [Kyoya would like to eradicate your time, but Tamaki won't have it]
Tamaki loves giving you gifts, because no matter how much you try and hide it, you always give him a smile, even if it's small
He'll come over to your house, UNANNOUNCED, and it always irates you to no end. He just hates being away from you and wants to be near you
He kind of likes that you're mean, because he doesn't have any competition
Tumblr media
Hikaru Hitachiin
Hikaru? Sunshine? Maybe in another universe
You're both grumpy and it takes time for you to become friends
You actually start off as enemies
You two have more in common than you'd like to admit
Kaoru is tired of hearing about you and finally invites you over so you can both talk, because he's sick of you
^So many death stares
When you two do become friends, thanks to Kaoru, everyone should be scared
You're like the little red devil on someone's shoulder and he's the worse version
You two are not a duo to be messed with
You gang up on people, by tag teaming them [Usually Tamaki is the victim of your tagteams]
[Tag team= Ganging up on someone in an arguement.]
Hikaru realize he actually really likes you, because you're actually kind of funny
He denies his feelings tho
He actually tries pushing you away in fear of these feelings. He doesn't want you to hurt him, so he ends up hurting you
This really pisses you off and you try confronting him
But he just avoids you
Kaoru tries asking him about it, but Hikaru either avoids the question or shrugs him off
Kaoru will soon pick up on Hikaru's feelings though, because that's his twin
He [Kaoru] confronts his brother and Hikaru tries to deny it, but he's cornered and he finally yells at Kaoru saying-
"Fine! I like them! Are you happy?"
Yes, Kaoru is happy and he pushes Hikaru to confess to you
It takes a while, but Hikaru eventually does do it, while Kaoru spies hoping for the best for his brother
Tumblr media
Kaoru Hitachiin
He thought you were pretty and wanted to talk to you
Your grumpyness doesn't bother him, because his twin brother is grumpy too, so he's used to it
He'll listen to you rant and complain and try and give you advice
He keeps you away from his brother in fear of either you liking Hikaru, not being able to tell the difference between them, or you two ganging up on him when realizing you two are both mean ppl
Kaoru seeks you out and gives you little gifts to make you happy
^ Lots of clothes and fashion [Stuff that remind him of you]
Whenever you are sitting together, you both are usually a few feet apart, but slowly he scoots closer and closer to you
He's so in love that anyone can see it
Hikaru doesn't like you when he does finally meet you, because you're taking his brother from him
Kaoru acts as the buffer between you both
If you have a bad day, he's always there for you and is willing to try and boost your mood

What’s in it for me?
Chapter 6/?
Chapter 1 Masterlist
Pairing: Kyouya Ootori x Reader Author: see-the-fandom-imagines   Warnings: None at all.   A/N: I struggled a lot to see if I want to put the whole Okinawa beach thing in 2, 3, or 4 chapters and it turned into 3 more or less long-ish ones! None of this is beta-read, as usual, so let me know if you realise any major issues! I hope you like it :) Link to Ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/46325452/chapters/116633701

You couldn’t believe they had actually invited you to the sea. Haruhi had told you that they had been in a holiday resort from Kyouya’s family a few weeks ago, so you really did not have expected to be invited to their Okinawa beach trip. But here you were. Your aunt had been a little suspicious at first, asking why a drama club needed to go to Okinawa – you hadn’t had the guts to tell her the actual purpose of the club yet, and let’s face it with all the drama going on you were technically not lying – but you had managed to convince her in the end, saying something about how you and Haruhi helped out behind the stage to make her believe you, as she was well aware that neither you nor Haruhi were really talented actresses. Something told you that Kyouya also had something to do with the fact that you had been allowed to go, he probably had promised her to keep her updated on everything, but you didn’t care. The beach was the beach and you really needed a little vacation after the last couple weeks. Although vacation was a strong word. You blinked a few times, the sun in the blue sky blinding you, while you kept handing out drinks to the girls, smiling slightly, while trying not to spill anything. This is not how you had imagined this trip to go. But at least you got to see the ocean. You had always loved it. You had given away the last glass, and let your arm rest for a second, as two girls approached you. “(Y/n)-chan, it’s really nice to see you here, too!”, they said, seeming a little embarrassed and you smiled at them. “Yeah, when Kyouya told us, you’d be joining, we immediately signed up.” She blushed. “Yes, these two princesses are new members to our host club. When I told them you’d be coming they were very willing to pay our vacation fee.” Your face fell and you turned around to the host that had just appeared behind you, sending you a smile, while writing something up in his notebook. He seemed to be very pleased with all the different ways he managed to profit off of you being on this trip. Typical. You sighed. “Won’t you come swim with us?”, one of the girls asked, sending you the broadest smile and forcing you to turn around again. You hesitated. “Ah, the truth is, I didn’t really bring a bathing suit.” Maybe you would have brought one if Kyouya hadn’t told you last second and sent the twins to pick you up straight after school to bring you here. At least they gave you more comfortable summer clothes to change into, but somehow you got the feeling that you’d be charged for these, too. “Well, that isn’t a problem”, the voice of the Hitachiin twins suddenly rang out behind you. “Yes, we brought an arrangement of bathing suits for…” “… every occasion”, Hikaru ended the sentence for the younger twin and they grinned at you, already having grabbed you underneath your arms to pull you away, but Kyouya’s cool voice rang out, stopping them in their movement. “I am afraid that won’t be possible.” “Huh? Why not?”, the twins asked again in unison, turning around with you. You felt a little like a ragdoll, but at this point you were somehow used to it. “Because she is here to work, not for vacation”, he turned towards you smiling his ice-cold smile that never reached his eyes. “Didn’t you say you wanted to help Haruhi?” Your blood froze in your veins, but you managed to wriggle free from the twins’ grasp, although they did seem a little disappointed. “Is it really just that”, Hikaru started and a smirk grew on his face. “Or are you just jealous, Kyouya?” “Yeah, maybe you just don’t want other guys to see (y/n) in a bathing suit.” “She’d look awfully cute, wouldn’t she, Hikaru?” “Awfully.” “Well, I guess, he wants her all for himself.” “How terribly egoistical.” You could feel his gaze on you and you looked up at him. You knew the twins were just teasing, but your cheeks had slightly heated up at their suggestion. Suddenly you remembered the last week.
“(Y/n).” You could hear a voice call your name. “(Y/n), wake up.” Sleepily, you blinked a few times, opening your eyes a little. But when you realized who it was that knelt just a few inches away from you, your eyes widened and you could feel the heat rush to your cheeks. “K-Kyouya-senpai?” Quickly you sat up, needing a second to adjust to the sudden change of position. You felt his hand on your shoulder, to stabilize you and somehow this made everything even worse. “You fell asleep during club hours”, he stated, unnecessarily. You were heavily aware of that. His hand left your arm and you mourned the loss of his touch for a millisecond. Your vision came back and you saw his expressionless face still closer to you than you wanted it. “Sorry”, you mumbled, looking around for your book and bags. Kyouya looked at you for a second, expression unreadable for you, before he got up, shouldering his own back. “Come on, hurry up, I have other things to do.” Quickly you shoved all your things in your school bag and stood up to, walking past him, your face bright red. “Sorry”, you mumbled, and wanted to start your flight, when you stopped in your tracks and sighed. “Thank you”, you added and bowed slightly, fully avoiding his eye contact, before actually leaving as quickly as you could.
You quickly avoided his glance, not ready to face the past embarrassment right now. “Sorry”, you muttered, “I’ll go back to get more drinks.” You smiled apologetically at the girls, who smiled at you kindly enough. You heard them talk about you, while walking away and you were glad that they had given you an excuse to leave the situation. “(Y/n) does care so selflessly over Haruhi.” “Yeah, she really does.” “Killjoy.” The twins accusing Kyouya was the last thing you heard before you were out of earshot.
“We are gonna play ‘Find Haruhi’s greatest fear’”, the twins proclaimed and everybody seemed really into the idea, especially after Kyouya had shown the possible price for the winner. “Did Ranka give you these pictures?”, you asked, eyeing them suspiciously. You had known Haruhi’s dad for a few years now and you knew how much he loved to talk about his daughter. “I like to protect my sources”, he solely smiled, watching the other hosts fawn over Haruhi’s pictures. “Ts”, you just scoffed, ripping them out of his hand. “If you guys don’t mind, I’ll hold onto these.” Kyouya let you keep them, but you were sure he had digital copies of them anyways. “(Y/n)-chan are you gonna play, too?”, Honey asked but you also shook your head and shrugged. “I know what she's afraid of. That wouldn’t be fair.” Also, you really didn’t feel comfortable with revealing her biggest fear to everybody just for a bet. You had found out years ago as she was staying over at your place and had suddenly vanished. Later that night you had found her in your closet. Immediately the twins cornered you. “You know?” “Well, tell us then!" But you just shook your head, stepping back next to Kyouya. For a change it seemed safe next to him. You had already been abducted twice today, a third time really didn’t suit you. “You wanted to make it a game. Let's see who wins.” Kyouya raised an eyebrow at you but smiled a little and yo"u tried to suppress the fuzzy feeling it triggered in your tummy. “Well then! Let the games begin.”
Kyouya had generously allowed you to sit down and relax with the girls for the rest of the day and while you were drinking some water, he stopped his writing, watching the other boys trying to find Haruhi’s biggest fear. “So, who do you think will win?”, you asked, trying to break the silence. He averted his gaze from the twins and turned towards you smirking. “What, are you willing to bet?” You scoffed. “Of course, I am pretty confident about this one. But it wouldn’t be fair, would it?” “I suppose not”, he admitted, looking at the huge transporter that had just pulled up on the beach. “Well?”, you asked, looking at him intently. The sun was highlighting the colour of his eyes, as he looked around, analysing the situation. He was in deep concentration, taking in every necessary detail. You just stared at him in slight awe. He really was beautiful you noticed. You knew you weren’t supposed to think these things, it was Kyouya after all, but you couldn’t help yourself. The way his dark hair contrasted his light skin, the way his face changed completely when he smiled. Really smiled. It didn’t happen often, but every now and then something caught his interest and then a real smirk appeared on his face. You were just glad that you had a reason to actually look at him, because otherwise you would have turned bright red, when he turned his head and caught you staring. He placed his right elbow on the table between you, resting his chin on the back of his hand. “Tell me first”, he said, eyeing you just as intently. You had caught his interest, you noticed slightly proud of yourself, while trying to withstand his intense gaze. “Is there anything Haruhi actually is scared about?” “Of course”, you shrugged. “Otherwise, would I ask you, who would win?” He seemed to think a bit, before he chuckled. “I do think you would.” “Only one way to find out”, you teased, keeping the eye contact. You were not going to lose this time. “I assume you’re not going to tell me?”, he asked, leaning a little closer toward you, his voice smoother than silk, one eyebrow raised. You had seen that move before, he had used it with some of the girls in the club, usually to make them buy another addition photo album. Nonetheless, your heart was beating a little faster. “You don’t actually think that works on me?” You held his gaze, trying to convince yourself that it actually didn’t work on you. He was just too handsome in-between. He chuckled and broke eye contact. “Well, given, that I am not part of the game…”, he hesitated, but then looked back at you. “Tamaki is going to win.” You raised an eyebrow at him. “Really? That guy?”, you said and pointed at Tamaki who was still running away from the snakes he had let loose on himself. “You’d be surprised”, he said, turning his gaze from Tamaki back to you. “So, who do you think will win?” “Easy”, you shrugged. “No one.” Kyouya tilted his head slightly. “So, you are saying it is impossible to find out?” “Well… not impossible, no”, you said, looking up into the clear-blue sky. “But very unlikely.” Kyouya followed your gaze and you were wondering if he had understood what you were implying. You knew that he could have won every single game of theirs easily, if he bothered enough to play. It made you wonder about whether he had in fact just let you win last week. He smirked at you, an eyebrow raised. “But you let them play anyways.” “Of course”, you took a sip of your water. “I wanted to see what they’d do.” Kyouya chuckled again, and you looked at him over the rim of your glass. There it was again. That real smile. When he genuinely seemed to enjoy something. “Don’t act like you’re any better than me”, you teased, but he just shook his head, leaning back in his chair, as well, watching the other hosts run around the beach. “Now, would I ever think that?” You left that question unanswered and took another sip of your drink as you saw Mori approach her with a huge harpoon. Where on earth did he get that?
You were strolling along the beach, enjoying a moment of peace and quiet and the feeling of the ocean air in your hair. You really loved the beach. Always had. You smiled slightly to yourself. Work or not, you were still really thankful they had brought you along. Suddenly you heard someone calling your name. “(Y/n)!”, the girls from earlier called you. They had climbed on top of a small cliff. You smiled up at them. “Will you come up to watch the sunset with us?” You thought for a second, but then decided that there was no reason to reject, so you climbed up the hill and sat down next to the girls. “Have you ever been to the beach?”, one of them, her name was Asuka you had learned earlier, asked, and you nodded. “Yes, a few times. When I was younger, my aunt sometimes went with me. I really like the ocean. The smell, the wind … It kind of makes you feel… free, doesn’t it?” When you were younger you had imagined how the ocean would keep you save, carry you away to strange countries you had never seen before. You smiled at the memory. “Oh look, Haruhi-kun is here, too!”, you heard one of the other girls say and wave down to your friend. You didn’t understand what Haruhi was replying, though, because from the corner of your eye you saw figures closing in on you. Three men, and they did not look like the friendly type. “Whoa, there are girls up here!” You felt the hairs on your neck stand up as they mustered you. Immediately you got up and stepped instinctively between the group of men and the girls. “Lucky”, one of them proclaimed, throwing away his beer. You didn’t dare to let him out of your sight. “Get behind me”, you ordered the girls, who immediately stood up, too, and did what you told them to. They were scared. So were you, but it was you against them and it was your job to protect them. Also you were somewhat used to this kind of behavior. “Let’s play together!” Your heartbeat sped up as they got closer, and you could smell the alcohol in the mens’ breath. They were drunk and if you had learned one thing about drunk people that they were unpredictable. Your breath quickened and your vision went blurry. Goddmanit, keep yourself together. You took a deep breath, this was really the wrong moment for a panic attack. But the smell, the smell was so familiar. Your knees gave away underneath you, but you didn’t fall, because you felt the strong grip of the guy on your wrists, pulling you up towards him. Fuck, you had reacted to slowly. “It must be dull, having no one but girls around, huh”, the guy who held you tightly by your wrists, asked, his face only inches away from yours. You felt sick, but you still couldn’t move. Your father’s face flushed before your eyes and you were close to passing out again, only the voice of the girls behind you keeping you awake. You took a deep breath and tried to get out of your stupor. You couldn’t let them hurt them. “Please stop”, Asuka tried to protect you. “This is a private beach.” But it didn’t matter what she said, for you saw from the corner of your eyes, how one of the other guys grabbed her. “What so you are rich girls?” You took deep breaths, biting your lip hard to stop the panic from creeping up on you. You needed to protect these girls. You were used to this, they weren’t. “Stop it!”, you yelled, your voice surprisingly stable, trying to free your wrists but the guy was too strong. In the matter of a second you decided to spit in his face and used the short moment of distraction to kick him in his balls as hard as you could. He let go of you long enough so that you could free your wrists and you turned towards the girls, ready to free them next, but suddenly you felt a hand in your hair, yanking you back painfully. One hand still buried in your hair, he wrapped his other arm around you. You could feel his hot breath against your ear and you smelled the alcohol again. It made you dizzy. “Little bitch”, he spat in your ear, pressing you tight against his body. Despite your kick you could feel the erection press against your leg and you wanted to throw up. This sick fuck was actually being turned on by this. You tried to wiggle free once again, but the grip on your hair was too painful. He let go of you with his other hand, forcing you to turn around to him and pushing you backwards a few steps. “You think you can just kick me like that, huh? You think you can play the little hero.” He let go of your hair, but he was grabbing your wrists again, painfully this time. You tried to step backwards, but stumbled, as you realized there was no more ground behind you. Out of the corner of your eye you saw the cliff ending. The only thing keeping you from falling was the guy in front of you and your breath quickened again. You were scared and you saw how it turned him on. His face came closer to yours again and your vision started to go blurry. It was all too much. The pain, the smell of alcohol, the fear. The fear. The fear. You had felt this way before, one too many times. You thought you had escaped; it had been four years since you had felt this scared, you thought, you had become stronger but instead you felt as helpless as you had felt your entire childhood. “Hey!”, you heard Haruhi yell, and the last thing you remembered was the man letting go of your wrist. And if you hadn’t been as dizzy as you had been, if you hadn’t been panicking this badly, you’d have safely fallen to your knees, but instead, with loosing the grip of the man, you lost balance and fell backwards. You had lost consciousness before you had even touched the water.
You woke up coughing and confused. Breathing heavily, you blinked so that your eyes got used to the sunlight again, and looked into the worrying faces of the host club. Right in front of you sat Haruhi and Tamaki. “Thank god, (y/n)!”, Haruhi yelled, but you could barely process it. You felt strong hands helping you sit up and as you turned slightly you realized it was Mori, hair dripping wet. You shivered slightly, realizing that you, too, were soaked. What happened? Haruhi wrapped her arms around your neck, not caring that she got wet. Oh right, the guys, Haruhi had tried to save you. “You’re alright”, you noticed breathlessly, and looked around, “how are the girls?” “Everybody is fine”, Tamaki assured you as Haruhi broke the hug to give you some space to breathe. “But you should rather worry about yourself. Haruhi told us what happened.” “We took care of these bastards”, Kaoru said, both twins noticeable angry. You bit your lip. You had had a panic attack. When it would have been your responsibility to be strong. “He was drunk”, you whispered, looking up at Haruhi, hoping she would understand. You felt how you started to shiver again, not from the cold, but from the memory of his breath on your face and felt Mori’s hand gently caress your back. “A doctor will arrive shortly”, you heard Kyouya’s cool voice speak out from somewhere behind you, but when you turned towards him, you realized he wasn’t looking at you. Was he mad at you? You turned the other way, to look at Mori, who was still staring down at you with worry in his eyes. His hand felt save on your back and although you knew you shouldn’t, you appreciated the touch. It grounded you and made you feel save. They couldn’t hurt you anymore. You watched a water droplet dripping from his hair and running down his face. He was the only one who was wet. “Did you save me?” Mori didn’t need to respond, you knew that he had. He really looked worried. “Thank you, Senpai”, you smiled weakly, and he nodded, helping you stabilize yourself as you were trying to get up, when suddenly you felt Kyouyas grip on your arm, forcing you to stand, while at the same time still stabilizing you surprisingly sturdy. “Let’s go”, he ordered, pulling you with him. You stumbled a few steps, but managed to follow. “The doctor will be in the house.” You looked back at the other hosts, who just watched you being pulled away and you were wondering why they just let it happen, but you didn’t have another choice other than to follow Kyouya. You didn’t see his face, as he had turned it away from you, but you followed. “No worries”, you reassured him. “I won’t trouble you because of this. I am fine.” Kyouya stopped walking for a second, taking a deep breath. You noticed he trembled slightly, before he pulled you with him again, grip as steady as it had been before. “Free of charge”, he said, still not looking at you. “You need to be checked. We don’t want the Host Club to get a bad reputation of not looking out for its members.” Surprised you blinked a few times but didn’t say anything. If you hadn’t known better, you would have almost thought he had been worried about you.

Hello! I love your writing, especially ur OHSHC stuff! I feel like you captured all the characters really well <3 Everyone feels so alive! Feel free to ignore this request, but I would love to hear about ur headcannons for your Unstoppable Series between the reader and the host club! Or just your ideas in general. I'm so in love with your work and I'm so excited to see what else you'll create! It's always worth the wait (♡´𓋰`♡)
oh my goodness that is... so incredibly sweet i'm gonna cry. my little heart. thanks so much anon that's really nice to hear. i kinda fell off the ohschc train for a while but i had ideas for that kyoya fic and i want to deliver them. and this is a really good question! so hopefully it'll get me back into the swing of things - but hey we all know i take fucking forever to write so i wont go getting anyones hopes up, i'll just answer your question :) this got kinda long so i'm gonna put it under a readmore uwu but i hope you enjoy!
so the current atmosphere between the reader and the hosts is,,, difficult. each of the hosts have their own very specific outlooks on the world shaped by their own very specific experiences, so none of them are really doing the Right Thing in this scenario - but you can't really blame them for that. mostly.
for the hitachiins, the important thing to note is that they are very much spoiled rich kids who spent the majority of their lives ignored and left to their own devices. we know they're pretty unempathetic to other people because that's just the way they were raised - they were the only two people they could recognize as Real People, and everyone else was just a plaything. that's changed throughout the anime - they're more empathetic to others and care deeply for their friends - but they're still just as selfish, as we've seen in the b&b arc. they don't want their friends to leave them, so they either cling on too tight (kaoru) or push their friends away before they can (hikaru).
hikaru knows from the moment the reader shows up that you do NOT want to be in the host club - now that IS a fairly normal reaction, the club's got kind of a slanderous reputation around school since it is literally just paying to date people, but the host club is his and kaoru's haven. it's what brought them a proper family. so he doesn't really like seeing someone there when they clearly don't want to be there - it just feels like an insult, both to him and the club (and maybe because he sees some of his old self in the way you push away tamaki and the rest of them, as well). so, as he did with haruhi when they first arrived, he wants to torment the reader and push you away until you inevitably leave, because hey, you don't want to be here and you're just gonna leave at some point anyway, so why not speed up the process? kaoru's intentions aren't quite as malicious - i think it's just another one of those 'well, hikaru's doing it, and i do what hikaru does' things (poor boy does not have a solid grasp of his own identity yet). but it is also partially that kaoru is very scared of letting people get close to him now that he and hikaru are beginning to distance themselves from each other (this is all vaguely post-anime canon). not quite as much as hikaru, but he doesn't really wnat to get attached to you.
(unfortunately, neither of them were expecting the reader to snap quite so badly. they figured you'd just storm out and not come back - they were not expecting tears. and when you said 'if this is how you're gonna treat me, i'm better off being at home'... well no spoilers but that's gonna stick with them.)
tamaki is,,, difficult for me as a writer because he feels things a LOT and i do not know how to capture it. but i imagine in the process of meeting the reader he's gone from one extreme to the other. he's eager to have a new member, and i'm sure he can see that 'something' about you that he saw with the twins and honey and kyoya, so yeah, he's very excited. probably rattling off costume ideas for 8 people, probably factoring an extra person into the budget, probably trying to find out what colours suit you and what your favourite snack is and etc etc (he is CLINGY, sue him). but then when you break down he's probably in the opposite of that extreme. i imagine he really laid into the twins - not his typical show-boating speeches, but an actual seething 'what the hell is wrong with you' scolding (he is a good dad. he doesn't let shit slide), and is really fixating on the comment about your homelife. tamaki cares a lot and has very little boundaries so i imagine he's trying his very hardest to fix everything (even if it violates your privacy - he's... trying. he's not good at it but he's trying).
haruhi is just downright furious. you seemed really chill, and they could probably see that you've been feeling lost and alone, like they did before they found the host club. i think they really wanted you to stay and have a good time and maybe find a little niche you could fit into, because while haruhi knows that the guys are overwhelming, they also know that the guys care deeply for their friends and would do anything to make a person they loved feel happy (even if they get it wrong most of the time). and now the twins have ruined that, and so has kyoya honestly, and none of the other guys stopped them so fuck them too!! so yeah i imagine haruhi laid into all of the guys (the twins and kyoya are the most responsible, yes, but we all know that when haruhi is mad everyone is gonna pay for it) and is now giving all of them the iciest of silent treatments (except honey).
honey is more perceptive than he seems, so i imagine he feels quite similarly to haruhi. he probably saw something in you that he felt back when he was a haninozuka to the bone - like you were being forced into someone elses place and desperately needed a thing that was yours, and no one elses, where you could be entirely yourself. and now the twins went and made you cry, and kyoya was being really mean the whole time, and honey's very upset about the whole thing. not quite haruhi's 'yell at everyone and then silent-treatment' upset, but he's very tearful and is currently refusing to speak to the twins.
mori is once again difficult for me (he's like the opposite of my tamaki problem). he doesn't know you very well but i imagine he wants to look out for you the way he does with haruhi. he's not quite murderously angry, but he is extremely disappointed in the twins, and while he's not going to try anything with kyoya, it's fairly obvious that he's not entirely happy with how kyoya handled things with you. for now he's just comforting honey.
kyoya is. well. no spoilers but he had his own reasons for roping you into the club. he is not immune to curiosity - he likes to know things and he likes to be correct, which is why it frustrates him when things don't act the way they're supposed to. that's the most nonspoilery way i can say why he wanted you in the club while also wanting to torment you a little - sometimes you need to dissassemble something to understand it. it's all very clinical and sociopathic but that's kyoya. but even kyoya's not immune to emotions (even if he likes to pretend that he is) and you're defying pretty much all his expectations and behaving in ways that just don't make sense to him, as well as making him think things that he can't understand just yet, which is obviously going to frustrate him (because no matter how serious he tries to act that boy has the mentality of a toddler trying to solve a rubiks cube). so he definitely doesn't like you just yet (it's enemies to lovers deal with it) but he's intrigued by you, and that's saying a lot for kyoya - and while he wants to figure you out, he's no longer going to break you to do so, which, again, is saying a lot for him.
man this was fun. i love talking about my wips, it's what helps me the most when it comes to writing, but alas i am not immune to cringe and i would rather die than talk to my friends about my x reader blog, so asks like this are really helpful for me! thanks anon, youre a sweetheart and this made me really happy :)) i hope you like the answer you got!!

the Only barbie animated movie where the girl(s) do not end up with a guy. alexa & liana live together and enact a ton of romantic tropes together, the twin guys do flirt with them but then the girls are separated from them by... a magic rainbow. they do dance together at the end of the movie... before the girls leave to go live together again. wearing dresses that are literally the bi and lesbian pride flags. no joke. cottagecore wlw separated from potential male love interests by literal magic rainbow the gayest barbie movie
tobias funke and debrie bardeux:
Debrie starred in a series of softcore gay porn films called Straightbait where she seduces a guy but tells him he has to sleep with another man before he sleeps with her to prove how attracted to her he is, thus proving he isn’t gay. Tobias is also super gay. They date for like 40 episodes and raise a son together. Tobias gets left by his first wife for not being sexually attracted to her and then has an affair with a gay porn actress from a series called straightbait I just think it’s pretty funny.
haruhi fujioka and hikaru hitachiin:
Haruhi x Hikaru from ouran high school host club. Yes i know she technically gets together with another boy in the end, but there is something so Queer about this ship in particular. Their whole date episode is just screaming Not Straight. For both of them.
ash ketchum and misty:
They’re basically set up as a kind of enemies to friends story and they make recurring jokes about how she clearly has a big crush on him, but nothing ever happens My childhood, i shipped them when I was 10
cali and flynn:
It starts off as a one-sided crush on Flynn’s side, and later becomes mutual when Cali develops feelings for him in the Skylanders IDW spin-off comics, their romantic tension lasts for most of the franchise (five games, a chapter of a spin-off comic, and a few bits and pieces in the spin-off books and mobile games), so far they’ve never gotten together as the franchise is currently still in hiatus mode (says this while on extreme copium) I think we need to appreciate the tropes in Calynn: Opposites Attract, Tough Girl x Himbo, Smart x Dumb, “You’re stupid, I like that in a man” vibes all over this ship! Seven year old me didn’t see Cali calling Flynn her guy in the sky whilst Flynn looked at her with heart eyes to lose to some other pairing!
alec hardy and ellie miller:
They're your classic workplace enemies to lovers. Alec takes the job that Ellie was meant for, they're forced to work together on a devastating murder case, they bond. Over three series Alec becomes more human and lets his walls down around Ellie, and she begins to respect and trust him as a colleague and as a friend. Its a Big Deal when they hug. In most cases, especially when it's an m/f detective duo, they would end up together. But yet. Thee David Tennant and Olivia Coleman did not even have an aborted kiss or feelings confession. Neither of them end up with anyone else but they don't hint at anything at the end either. Queer Ally of all time David Tennant does straightbait ironically.
good luck everyone! now go vote!

[A] #52 — ROMANTIC KILLER (ENG DUB) 🔁
Tumblr media
Title: Romantic Killer
Studio: Domerica
Season: Fall 2022
Genre(s): Comedy, Romance
No. of episodes (seasons) watched: 12 (1)
Rating: 10/10⭐
It's almost been a year since I last watched Romantic Killer. After nearly 12 months of watching anime in general, I thought it'd be nice to revisit the show that guided be back to this life of being a dork over anime and manga.
In Romantic Killer, Hoshino Anzu is a high school girl whose three great desires (chocolate, games, and her cat) were taken from her by a sentient potato wizard whose mission was to grant Anzu a dating sim-like life full of hot guys and romance! However, not one to be manipulated into falling in love, Anzu fights back to reject romance at every turn to beat the wizard at its own game. It's a refreshing and very funny exploration of the good and bad of love and romance (both as a genre of stories and in relationships) that shows how meaningful and loving relationships can be even without romance.
This time around, I watched it as an English dub since I wondered how well the comedy translated. Takahashi Rie's performance as Anzu was a huge reason why I loved the show in the first place; she brought a confidence and strength to Anzu, as well as a kind of chaotic energy that I didn't often see in female protagonists. Deneen Melody's take on Anzu is a slice more awkward and fidgety, but she doesn't hold back on the energy in Anzu's more explosive scenes and she really nails the deadpan moments (especially the ones she shares with Hijiri).
Spoilers below!
And speaking of Hijiri: I feel like when they showed Kellen Goff various clips of the English dub of Ouran High School Host Club because his prince vibe is so Suoh Tamaki and his "of course I'm better than you commoners" reminds me a lot of Ootori Kyoya or even the Hitachiin twins (tho tbh I was imagining more of a Hitachiin Kaoru vibe for Hijiri to begin with). In general, I loved the selection of voice actors for all the characters and their voices were really pleasant to listen to.
Watching this again after a long while also helped me realize a couple of things that didn't fully sink in during my first watch:
1. Despite her initial wariness of him, Anzu always included Junta whenever she thought of how much she liked how her life was going (sans the loss of her three great desires, of course). Before, I thought that a lot of her behavior towards him was just her being nice and polite, but she genuinely considered him a friend and sincerely cared about him. Their initial conversation might have left a too big impression on me, but honestly I think it's more because I had Kazuki tunnel vision back then, which I think is perfectly understandable since his relationship with Anzu was the most explored out of her three (four?) potential romantic interests.
2. Anzu constantly goes out of her way to not fall in love and have a romantic relationship, but I think one idea that didn't stick during my first watch was that Anzu wasn't uninterested in romance. At least here in the dub, there were several moments where I felt she was definitely interested in the idea of romance and falling in love like that, that maybe she would've been open to it in another context. Rather than having an aversion to romance, it feels more like she's averse to being forced into one (it sounds so obvious now that I'm typing it out, but fr the main idea that registered back then was that she was uninterested, period). She's also motivated to do this out of spite, which is one of my favorite motivators ever.
3. Okay, this is a small one, but Riri and Kate are salaried employees. And idk but I think it's absolutely hilarious/sad/relatable how they keep coming back to the grind for the money rather than some sense of duty or a passion for love. Like, those aren't bad reasons, but they're also not funny ones. And yes, the funny is very important for this show.
4. The amount of Kazuki in the opening is just... a lot? Interesting choice given how the manga was done by the time they made the anime. Idk it very much feels like the animators shipped them (which I get since I ship them, too).
It was fun to watch the show again, and I really hope more people would take a chance on it, too <3

u ever think that when mother hitachiin was picking out the maids who would stay at the mansion with her kids she was like 'yk what would be HILARIOUS. if the maids were ALSO twins.' and just hired the twin maids solely based on that and not on qualifications or anything
i imagine her looking at the most lavish and expensive maid services but then she sees the twin one and they have maybe 3 and a half stars and one is suspected to have committed multiple crimes and shes like 'lmao twin maids for twin boys. ur hired'
makes it funnier if you consider this happening right after the last one literally robbed them and threatened her kids with a knife. love that for her
CONSIDERING how the twin maids in canon are JUST as devious as the twins themselves I FULLY believe this. They just wanted maids that the twins could relate to after that huge fiasco... can't believe their old maid was literally beefing with 6 year olds like dayum! ok!

Firsts w/ Kaoru
Pairing: Kaoru Hitachiin x gn!reader Genre: fluff Warnings: none
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
first meeting:
y’all met through, you guessed it, The Host Club
it wasn’t your idea to go
but Haruhi, poor, sweet, innocent Haruhi, was about to lose her marbles
she practically got onto her knees to beg you to keep her company
and what kind of friend would you be if you declined?
(you mainly just went because she bribed you with free tea and desserts)
when you showed up to Music Room #3, it was all that you were expecting and not at all what you were expecting at the same time
you eventually spotted Haruhi through all the people and eventually made your way over to her
the look on her face was almost comical
she bid her guests she was entertaining farewell and they left with watery eyes
you covered your mouth to hide your giggles as you took a seat on the soft couch across from her
“Thank god you showed up,” she groaned as she slumped back into her seat
you let your giggles out freely, studying her tired form
“Awe, is Haruhi tired of flirting?” you teased
she only grunted in response, closing her eyes and letting out a content sigh
you hummed in return, picking up a cookie that was on the table and started to munch on it
you two had a few minutes of silent peace before it was rudely interrupted
“Oh, Haruhi!” you hear two voices shout from behind you in unison
you swear you saw an irk mark appear on her forehead
you raise your brow and go to turn around to see who was causing her so much trouble just by saying two words when two people were suddenly leaning over the back of the couch you were sitting on
you looked to your left and saw a boy your and Haruhi’s age
you turned to the right and had to do a double-take when you saw the same face
‘these must be the infamous twins,’ you thought as you studied them
“What?” Haruhi groaned with dead eyes
you could see the smirks come onto the two boys’ faces
“What are you doing slacking off-” the one on the right started off
“-when you have a guest?” the left one finished you raised a brow at them as you pursed your lips
“She could ask you two the same thing? Why aren’t you tending to your guests?” you defended
the twins’ eyes widened as they turned to look at you, both silently studying you for a moment
“We got bored-”
“-so we came to see what Haruhi was doing.”
your brows furrowed as you look to the one on your left
“You just left your guests?”
Haruhi was the one to respond
“Kaoru probably ran out of fake tears,” she said with a smirk
the twins’ attention went back to her, the one on the right’s eyes widening
“Fake tears? My tears are real!” he defended
you took a mental note that the one on your right was Kaoru. Haruhi may have told you about them before but you were terrible with names
Haruhi only grunted in response before closing her eyes again
you saw their mouths open, ready to bother her some more
so, being the good friend you are, you quickly said something before they could
“Just leave her alone, okay? How about you entertain me?” you offered
from what Haruhi has told you, the twins liked to mess around with people. Whether it is playing pranks and tricks or just annoying them
so, you figured they’d happily take you up on the offer to ‘entertain’ you
as soon as you finished your sentence, a smirk was curling up on their lips
“Entertain you?”
“Why, we’d be honored!”
they ended up trying to actually do so at first, using their little brotherly love act
you quickly shut that down
once they realized you knew all their secrets, including Haruhi being a girl, there was a sudden shift in the way they acted towards you
they were more open suddenly
hanging out:
after meeting, he instantly took a liking to you
he and his brother wanted to become friends with you, mainly to annoy Haruhi
they hung out with you as much as you allowed them to, which was often so you could give Haruhi a break
it took a couple weeks for Kaoru to work up the nerve to ask you to hangout with him without his brother there as well
you were surprised when he asked you, to say the least
“Hey, would you wanna go to this museum with me? I somehow won free tickets in class and Hikaru doesn’t want to go. I, uh, know it sounds boring but—”
“I’d love to go with you, Kaoru,” you reassure with a big, warm smile
it was the first time he felt his heart do something weird in his chest
that weekend, you two went to the museum and honestly had a really good time
you two pretty much just wandered around and talked the entire time, which was several hours
he found it surprising and like a fresh breath of air at how easy it was to talk to you
he liked studying you when you would stare at something before you, your figure glowing under the big lights
he knew by the time you two left that he had feelings for you
first hug:
you two hugged for the first when he took you home from the museum, actually
his palms were sweating just from thinking of doing it
he tried to tell himself that it wasn’t a big deal but he was just so nervous
he opened the car door for you when you reached your house and even walked you to the door
“Thanks for today, Kaoru,” you say softly, giving him that radiant smile that he loves so much
“It was nothing. I’m just glad you agreed to go,” he admits with a small chuckle
you giggle in return and then you both go into silence
“Well, I’ll see you at school on Monday,” you say to break the silence
without another word, he quickly pulls you into the hug then
he hears and feels you gasp, your arms staying by your side for a moment before slowly wrapping back around him
“Yeah, see you on Monday,” he whispers, still holding onto you
you two hug each other a little longer than necessary but neither of you cared
when you finally did let go of each other, both of your faces were warm
“Goodnight, Kaoru,” you whisper a little breathlessly
“Goodnight, (Y/n),” he whispers back, finally stepping back to let you go inside
he walks back to his car and watches you unlock your door to make sure you get inside okay
he then finally leaves with a racing heart and a red face
first time holding hands:
after going to the museum together, you two slowly started to get closer
you texted more often, always called, hung out without Hikaru more, and so on
it didn’t take long for you to fall for him but you were unsure if he liked you back
well, that is until October came around
the boys decided they wanted to do a haunted house type thing for their monthly event
after Kyoya talked it over with the principal, the club got permission to do it and to have it held inside the entire school
Kyoya went all out too. He hired professional actors and businesses to scare in the school
the club held it during Halloween weekend, that way they could clean up all the props before Monday
the club made a killer with the amount of people that wanted to participate and walk through the ‘haunted’ school
on Sunday, after the ‘maze’ closed, the host club decided that they should be able to walk through it as well
that’s how you ended up partnered up with Kaoru to walk through together
you two went last out of all of the groups, both of your hearts racing as you two walked into your dark school
after the first jump scare, you two clung together before relaxing until the next scare
after a few scares, you two just ended up holding hands the whole way through
you honestly didn’t even really notice since you were too focused on what’s around the corner, what’s in that room, or what that sound was
but Kaoru’s entire focused was on your hand in his, the way your skin looked, the way it felt
when you came out the back main exit of the school though, you instantly noticed
you both shyly smiled as you let go, trying to ignore everyone’s teasing as you all started cleaning up
first date:
it wasn’t until mid-November that Kaoru asked you out on a date
you both were blushing like crazy as he stuttered out his date proposal and it was the most enduring thing you’ve ever seen
he asked you out, to which you instantly said yes to, but when you asked where you two would be going, he refused to tell you
he ended up taking you to a festival that was in town after you said that you didn’t want him wasting a lot of money on you
plus, he’s really competitive, so it’s fun to play games with him
you two tease each other back and forth the whole night, both of you winning a lot of games
he even won you a stuffed animal to which you playfully named it Hikaru
he ended up getting too much cotton candy and begged you to help him finish it
you two spent the entire day there and when the sun started to set, he dragged you onto the ferris wheel
it was very cliché but he kisses you at the top and you loved every second of it
when he drove you home, neither of you were ready for the night to end
so, you just ended up sitting in the car for hours just talking up a storm
when your first yawn is released, he does his best to ignore it but after the second time, he sighs and gives you a soft smile
“You should head inside. I’ll text you when I get home, okay?” he says quietly, secretly wishing he didn’t say anything when you start to pout
you rub at your eye though as you yawn again, slowly nodding your head
“Okay. Goodnight, Kaoru,” you whisper sweetly before hugging him
just before you get out of the car, you quickly peck his cheek before practically flying out of the vehicle
he chuckles at how flustered you are as you walk to the door of your home
he makes sure you get inside okay before driving back home
he sticks to his word and texts you when he arrives at home to which you both stayed up late texting each other because you didn’t want the mystical night to come to an end
first time giving a gift:
(we ain’t counting the stuffed animal (Hikaru) he gave you on your first date)
you two had been together for 3 months when Kaoru decided to get you something to celebrate
he asked all your friends along with all the people in the Host Club what they think you’d like
he got many ideas ranging from clothes to food
he wasn’t quite sure what he wanted to get you but he’d figure it should be something nice but ‘simple’
on the day of your 3 months together, he picks you up from your house and takes you on a date
you tried telling him that you two didn’t have to celebrate the 3 month mark, but he wasn’t having it
“You’re special to me and being together this long means a lot to me,” he said softly to you before kissing the back of your hand
he ends up taking you to a hill that looks over most of the town, a smile coming to your face when you see the view
“It’s beautiful,” you reply when he asks what you think
“Not as beautiful as you,” he teases, shooting you a wink before hauling the picnic basket over to the blanket he set down for you both
after setting everything up and getting comfy, you two dig into the food that he made
once you two have had your fill, you curl up together and watch the sunset
just before the sun completely sinks below the horizon, he pulls away from you a bit to reach into the basket
“Here,” is all he says as he offers you a rectangular box covered in velvet
you raise your brow up at him but gently take it from him and open it up
you jaw drops open a bit when you see what rests inside, your heart skipping a beat as your tummy fills with butterflies
“Oh, Kaoru...” you whisper breathlessly, staring down at the intricate necklace
“Do you like it?” he whispers, worriedly staring at your shocked face
“I, um, got it to represent our first date at the festival...” he continues when you don’t reply. “Sorry, I know it’s ugl—”
“No! No, I love it, Kaoru,” you quickly interrupt when he starts to backpedal. “Sorry, I just was thinking that it looks kind of expensive...”
“Well, ha, you see—”
“Kaoru, how much did you spend on this?”
he stays quiet for a moment, knowing how you’d react when he tells you
he finally pipes up when you give him the look™️
“It was, um, ¥43,687...”
“Kaoru Hitachiin!” you screech, fully turning to face him with a horrified expression
“What? It’s not that bad!” he shouts, his cheeks starting to warm for some reason
“Not that bad? Not that bad? You’re right. ¥43,687 is way worse than bad!”
he groans and rolls his eyes, taking the box from you and taking the necklace out
“Turn around.”
“No way! What if I break it? What if I lose it? What if—”
“What if zombies raised from the ground right now and killed me? Bam! Dead! Wouldn’t you want something to remember me by?” he teases with a smirk
it’s your turn to huff and roll your eyes now
“That would never happen.”
“Well, yours would never happen either,” he argues
“Yes it could!”
“We can go back and forth all day, sweetheart. We can never know the future and it’s best to just live in the present.”
When you don’t reply, he smiles at you and holds up the necklace
“You like it, right?”
“Well yes, but—“
“And you like me, right?”
“Kaoru—”
“Do you?”
“Yes! But, Kaoru—”
“Then put it on!”
you two have a stare off before you give in, letting out a hefty sigh and turning to put your back to him
he slips the necklace onto you and your hand instantly goes to the ferris wheel pendant resting between your collar bones
“There. Ya see? That wasn’t so bad and you look even more beautiful than usual.”
your cheeks warm with the compliment as you spin around to face him again
“Shut up and kiss me,” you snap with a pout
he chuckles and leans forward to do just that
first “I love you”:
you both actually wanted to say this on your picnic date but both ended up chickening out since you both thought it was too soon
ever since then, you both have tried and failed to say it
when is the right time to say it? How long do you have to be dating for it to be okay? What if the other person wasn’t ready to say it back yet?
yeah, a lot of unnecessary worries and insecurities
it isn’t until it’s almost your sixth month anniversary that Kaoru finally works up the nerve to say it
he was planning a little get away vacation for you two during the summer
when you came over to his house one day to hangout, he first plays it cool
you two do the normal stuff whenever you two hangout, watch your show, makeout a little, make food, the works
after you two are done eating and go to continue watching your show, he stops you
“Hey, there’s something I want to show you.”
you raise your brow at this, wondering what he could want to show you
maybe a new show he wants to watch?
“Yeah?” you ask, watching him pull something out from between the couch cushions
he hands over an envelope to you with a smirk, making your brows furrow
a letter?
“Go on. Open it,” he says with a chuckle
you let out a short hum in reply and begin to open it up
you pull out two tickets to something, turning them around to look at the front
“Are these first class tickets to Italy?” you ask, your voice trembling a bit
“Yeah! I figured it was about time we went somewhere together!”
you shake your head and offer the tickets back to him, feeling as if you’re going to be sick
“Kaoru, no. This is too much. I don’t need to go somewhere far or fancy or expensive to have fun with you,” you force out with wide eyes
he frowns at your words, refusing to take the tickets out of your shaky hands
“What? (Y/n), this is an amazing opportunity! Besides, these tickets were for me and Hikaru to go with our mom to one of her fashion shows in Italy. Hikaru is grounded now though for that stunt he pulled in class and she asked if I’d like to take you instead,” he explains with a soft smile, bringing his hand to your free one to give it a squeeze
you relax a bit at this news, now knowing he didn’t waste thousands of yen on you
“Your mom offered?” He nods his head. “You’re sure she doesn’t mind me coming?”
“Of course not, baby. You haven’t been around her much since she works so often, but she really does like you. She wouldn’t have asked you to come if she didn’t want you there. Plus, she has to punish Hikaru somehow.”
you chuckle at that last part with a nod of your head
“Okay, fine. I’ll ask my parents about it and see if they’ll be okay with me going,” you agree
he lets out an excited squeal and surges towards you for a hug
“Yes! You’re the best! I love you!”
at the three words, you both freeze and stare at each other, both of your faces heating up to a dangerous degree
“Sorry, I, um, I d—”
“I love you too, Kaoru,” you rush out before he can take it back
his grin comes right back to his face before he kisses you passionately
first trip together:
turns out your parents were okay with you going since Kaoru’s mom will be there
when you three were on the plane, you and Kaoru leaned against each other the entire time
to keep you busy, you two watched your show and movies, played card games, played games with each other on your phones, and so on
when you all finally reach your destination, you’re exhausted but you instantly perk up when you reach your ride to your hotel
you climb into the limo and both you and your boyfriend ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ at the beautiful scenery
when you get to the hotel, his mother announces that Hikaru will share a bed with her while you get the other one. You don’t really mind since she’s paying for all this and you’re in Italy for crying out loud, but Kaoru whines and pouts for at least fifteen minutes
once you’re all in your jammies, you all practically pass out as soon as your heads hit the pillows
you three were there for two weeks and you and Kaoru had so many cute dates
you went hiking, rode on gondolas, went on tours, took cooking classes, saw a musical, visited ancient buildings, went to the beach and did lots of swimming (where Kaoru got burned), and lots more!
his mom even let you participate in her fashion show
she dressed you up in expensive clothing and pushed you to walk on the runway
you were nervous at first but eventually got into it the more claps and cheers (from Kaoru) you got
it was honestly some of the best days of your entire life
when it was the last day of being in Italy, Kaoru took you on your last date in the beautiful country
you both shared lots of ‘I love you’s followed by several kisses

The Therapists From Music Room 3 (Host Club x Reader)
Fandom: Ouran High School Host Club Word Count: 1,5k Warning: mention of depression (Masterlist)
You had a comfortable life, of so you thought until your dad was transferred to Japan and his company started paying for your education. You started your second year at Ouran High School, a place filled with young billionaires with no common sense. You came to realize what real wealth looked like and it wasn't as pretty as you thought.
Some of the people there were very cruel, they were quick to dismiss anything and anyone that wasn't up to their standards. There were a lot of hidden fights with passive-aggressive remarks, and even when they didn't mean to offend, they could be so clueless when it came to people who had a normal life.
As a result, you didn't have many friends, mostly because you were scared to approach people, but also because you were previously traumatized by the bullying from your last school. You didn't even wanna imagine what sort of humiliation waited for you from these rich snobs.
With almost no one to talk to and living in a country completely different, so far away from home, it didn't take long for you to start feeling depressed.
You didn't have the nerve to tell your parents you weren't happy. Who wouldn't be? Going to one of the most prestigious institutions in the world, eating some of the best food in the country, surrounded by beauty... You just couldn't help but feel a bit ungrateful, whiny.
"Jesus, in a castle so big, there isn't a single place without anyone to bother me?" you fixed the sleeves of your silly yellow uniform. For the past ten minutes, you had been going from one room to the other, looking for an empty space to be alone.
So far you had no luck, every little corner of the building seemed to be inhabited by rich people promenading like they were in a period drama. Weirdly enough, no one seemed to study a lot there.
"Welcome, princess," a choir of male voices greeted as soon as you opened the door to music room 3 (yeah, the number of music rooms in the school did surprise you).
Before you could close the door and keep wandering around, your attention was captured by a group of seven young men: a tall quiet one, a tiny cheerful one, a blonde one with the most beautiful smile, one with glasses who was taking notes, a delicate one with the kindest eyes you had ever seen, and a set of twins.
"We weren't expecting any guests yet, what brings such a beautiful angel here so early, my darling?" the blonde one stood up, flashing you a charming grin and offering his hand. "Come in, don't be shy."
"Sorry, did you say guests? Is there a party or something? Cause I wasn't invited so I-"
"There will be a tea party soon!" the tiny one, who didn't look much older than your 8-year-old brother, said. "Don't worry, you're invited, every girl is invited!"
"Who's more your type? Quiet and cool? Shota? Little devils? Smart?" the one in glasses asked. "You can have your pick since you were the first one to arrive."
"Excuse me, I'm not sure I know what's happening," you laughed awkwardly. Those guys were all really cute, but you couldn't stop thinking that it all seemed like a cruel prank. "Who are you?"
"We are the Host Club, of course!" the blonde kissed the back of your hand gracefully bowing. "We are here to bring smiles to the faces of every girl in Ouran High. If I can make you smile at least once, my existence in this world will have been worth it."
"What?"
"I've seen you before, you're the other scholarship student, right? I'm Haruhi," the kind-looking one introduced himself. "These are Tamaki senpai, Mori senpai, Honey senpai, Kyoya senpai, and the twins are Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin."
"H-hello, I'm y/n."
"A commoner? I love commoners, this is gonna be so much fun!" Tamaki cheered. "Would you like some instant coffee, my dear? Maybe you'd rather taste it on my lips?"
"I don't think she likes being called a-" Haruhi tried to intervene, but Tamaki shook his head.
"It's all right, daddy's taking care of it," his exceedingly charming facade dropped for a split second.
A host club? So they gave girls attention to make them feel special? As nice as it sounded, you couldn't shake the feeling that it would be painful to have a guy talk to you out of obligation, not because he really cared or wanted to know you better.
"Actually, I was looking for a place to be alone..." you let go of his hand.
"Why? You have seven perfectly handsome guys right here, who would choose to be alone instead?" the twins said in unison.
You didn't really have an answer. You wanted to be alone to cry, to think about all the things you used to do that were fun and now weren't anymore, about the friends you lost, about how everything seemed to have turned upside-down with no signs of going back when all you wanted was to keep living your life the way it was. You were happy, why did all of that have to be stolen from you?
"Are you okay?" Haruhi asked, a worried frown twisting his delicate features.
"I'm sorry, I don't wanna ruin your tea party, I just wanna be alone," your voice cracked through your plea, your eyes involuntarily filling with tears.
"The moments you want to be alone are the moments you need other people the most," Honey timidly made his way to you and held out the pink bunny he was carrying. "Do you wanna hold Usa-chan? It always makes me feel better."
"Hey, don't cry, come here, sit down," Tamaki gestured to the couch. "A beautiful face like yours shouldn't be stained with tears unless they are tears of joy."
You wanted to walk away, but you didn't have the strength to. Having someone be so nice to you, even if it was technically their job, felt so overwhelming and good. You couldn't help but want more of it.
Tamaki sat right next to you, the twins did the same. The others sat on the opposite side, except for Kyoya, too busy typing on his laptop and calculating finances for the club. He trusted the others would be able to help without a problem.
"Why are you so sad?" Kaoru asked. "Is it because you don't have money?"
"Kaoru!" Haruhi scolded.
"I just miss my home, I feel lonely, I wasn't able to make any friends here, I feel so excluded," you finally said, it was like getting a weight off your chest. "I don't feel like I belong here."
"Oh, I get it... It takes a while to get used to it," Haruhi murmured, remembering how he didn't even have a school uniform when he first started. "But I promise it won't last forever, even if most people here are completely out of touch-"
"HEY!" Tamaki yelped before charmingly resting his chin on your shoulder. "I don't know about everyone else, but no one in the host club is out of touch, especially not me. I'm always in touch, and right now I'm craving your touch, princess."
"You're being weird!" Haruhi sneered, which seemed to hurt him way too much. "What I mean if even if it seems like you don't belong, you deserve to be here and you already have a friend in me."
"Right!" the twins agreed. "Us too! Please don't cry, do you wanna play Which One is Hikaru? If you win, you get a kiss... Or maybe you'd like to watch us kissing instead?"
"Wait, what? Is that a thing? Also, I just met you, it's still a little hard for me to tell who's who," your lips formed a smile as Tamaki gently wiped your tears away.
"Do you want some cake?" Honey suggested. "Strawberry shortcake is my favorite, but I can get whatever flavor you like, y/n-chan!"
"I know how hard it is to change your entire life like this," Tamaki admitted, something he usually didn't talk about, but he felt like it would be worth it if it brought you some peace. "I moved to Japan not too long ago, I had to leave everything behind, but now I feel like I have a family here, not only at home but in this club. It's always harder in the beginning, but I promise it gets better, and you can always count on me to distract you if you ever feel sad," he crooned, ending that moment of vulnerability.
"Thank you, guys... I- I don't know what to say," you looked down, your cheeks burning. Even though all of them were hosts, you simply knew they weren't talking to you out of obligation or throwing some cheap pick-up lines at you, they actually cared and it showed.
"Say you'll stay for the party!" Honey clapped.
"Yeah, I guess a cup of tea and some cake wouldn't hurt."

Hi! Could I get an ohshc romantic matchup please? (I'm alright with nsfw ;) ) I'm a french pansexual woman who studies english literature and who wears glasses. I'm quite small, and often wear retro dresses / gothic clothes and I'm especially fond of corsets. I'm also a cosplayer who dreams of working in musical theatre. I can never be seen without platform shoes and I like showing off my body. I also have crippling social anxiety which often makes me physically sick. Personality wise, I'm really quiet at first but if I'm at ease with the person I get loud and mischievous, and very fond of bad jokes and innuendos, and jokingly self-centered (like I'll pretend to be but as a joke, in a 'I'm the best person here sweetie <3' kinda way). I don't really have a type and I'm pretty accepting.
Thank you :)
Hiii thank you so much for the request!!
We're super excited to write something for OHSHC (and I love musical theatre too! - admin san)
The second we saw your sense of humor and your fashion sense we thought of the one and only, twinkiest twin.........
KAORU HITACHIIN~
Tumblr media
SFW
Kaoru and your sense of humor really match. He's loud and mischievous and you both would make tons of innuendos and harass other people together. With Hikaru in the mix, the "pretend threesomes" y'all have would be legendary.
You guys could also dirty talk in french in front of the whole gang since both Hikaru and Kaoru had to learn it thanks to their mom's profession. Tamaki would also get stuck in middle hearing all the filth coming out of yall's mouths and having to pretend nothing's happening in front of the others. Sometimes you guys start competing just to see how red he would go or who can make him cry and run to Haruhi first.
Kaoru being super into you, would get super into literature as well. You both could have cute picnic dates were you sensuously read him passages from the Bible, Quran, Torah and other religious texts while feeding him fruits. He in turn would find the most erotic Shrek fanfiction to read to you and watch your mind work to analyze it all.
Whenever you pass by Kaoru passes a comment about how the smaller you are, the thiccer you get 😉 Especially with your whore taste (we love it btw) he's definitely looking but respectfully
Kaoru being rich and his mom being into fashion means he would love to dress up with you. You and the twins could plan the Host club frequent get ups, and make them all wear corsets one week.
You could even convince Kyoya to have a gothic theme for the Host club for a week with you and Kaoru in charge of planning. Your cosplay skills combined with Kaoru's mom's resources, you guys would create the most amazing fits.
You could also subtly roast Tamaki when he goes on his rants about his beauty and greatness by mimicking him from the sidelines and making self-centered jokes. The twins would celebrate you and lift you to the skies once Tamaki starts crying and you'd be the queen of the homosexual supporting cast.
Sometimes when you guys go out on dates he notices that you get nervous and fidgety. He instantly puts his arm around you to assure you that you're not alone. If you feel uncomfortable talking to strangers you just needs to tug on his sleeve and he takes over.
N/SFW under the cut (2/3 admins are really not sexual we're sorry)
Tumblr media
Sometimes you end up in bed with both the twins and whenever you're feeling mischievous you slip out from in between them and they both end up fucking each other. oops.
Sometimes you even make them 'swordfight' before the main event to see who gets to lead.
Your small height also allows Kaoru to pick you up and whack you on the bed before going to town ;)...... He returns 20 minutes later with dinner and you both have a lovely dinner in bed.
You guys would also love to cosplay in bed so look forward to professional slutty maid sama outfits and custom-made, tailored lingerie which you would have been embarrassed to buy in a shop.
Yours Fellatiously,
San, Sar, Sav

Who is the shittiest dad in Ouran though
Yes. I love the dads. Lets goo.
I don't want to say who the shittiest is, because none of them are a terrible dad to their kids, but I will rank them because some are better than others. I also take constructive criticism. I'd like to know other's opinions!
Ranked worst dad to best dad.
6: Yoshio Ootori. He isn't a bad dad. His children have a lot of respect for him and he's constantly pushing them only so that they can be the best and most successful versions of themselves. He's strict and it makes sense that all of his children are doctors or work in the medical field (the business part of it at least), and he's never not supported any of his kids. Despite Kyoya joining an obnoxious club, he never told him he had to stop, and he never forced Kyoya to be Tamaki's friend. He just asked him to be friendly. He fails in showing them his love though and I never liked how he pushed Fumiko away from the family after she got married. Yoshio is just so old school and it affects his relationship with them.
A good provider, but wasn't very present.
5: Yuzuru Suoh: I think if his relationship with his mother was a better one, he would have been a better dad, but Yuzuru let his relationship with his mother affect his relationship with Tamaki. Yuzuru hated his mom for forcing him into a loveless marriage and then not accepting his marriage with Anne Sophie. He obviously did not respect her but he let her trample all over Tamaki, for 18 years, and didn't say a word just because "she's the chairman". Yuzuru only visited Tamaki when he was a child probably only on holidays and his birthday, and maybe a few days during the summer. Tamaki's grandmother made him come to Japan and leave his mother behind, and Yuzuru let her do it, but when Yuzuru finds medicine to cure Anne, he's suddenly like "I'm going to force my mother into retirement" showing that he's had the power to overthrow her for a long time. Making Tamaki mend the loose strings.
Yuzuru loves Tamaki but he's been too obsessed with rebelling against his own mother rather than thinking what's best for Tamaki.
Even Tamaki thinks his dad is a "lousy old man."
4: Ryoji 'Ranka' Fujioka: He loves Haruhi, obviously. That little girl is his entire world, and he really does do his best, but he was so young when he became a dad, and after Kotoko died he just became so irresponsible that his 4 year old was taking care of him. She was 5 when he was being carried home by his boss after getting drunk at work, and Haruhi probably learned how to cook because he wouldn't and probably brought home junk college student food when he went shopping. And whenever Haruhi went shopping, he'd follow behind her and watch her shop instead of - i dunno - helping. I understand being raised the way she was made her into a badass, and he worked a lot, and did provide for her, but there was a lot of things Ryoji could have helped when raising her.
3: Yorihisa Haninozuka: I don't know much about how Yorihisa is with his kids. From the little bit we see, Yori's only fault being that maybe he forces his family's traditions on them and doesn't support their individual views or hobbies in life, but Yorihisa always comes to see his kids during school events and festivities and always speaks about them with love. I believe he probably has really great relationships with his sons in their adult life too.
He's the kind of dad who will throw a knife at Mitsukuni at the dinner table, and would cry if his son doesn't dodge, and ends up getting stabbed. But would proudly pat him on the back if Mitsukuni does dodge, and stabs him instead.
Overall, a loving dad. But probably terrified his wife constantly because he was a little unsafe around the kids when they were babies.
2: Hayato Hitachiin: Second, for the most unbiased reasons as possible. Hayato was so quiet and soft spoken and mature And is probably one of the very few people in the world that Hikaru and Kaoru actually respected as children because of his cool demeanor and the fact that he's probably the only one beside the twins aunt who discipline them, when he's home. He and Yazuha have a great, loving marriage and when they are home, they're spending that time with their kids, and visiting them during school festivals. He's a very loving father and at least understands that his uninvolvement because of work is what made the twins so lonely and dependant on each other.
If he were home more often, I think he and the twins would have had a great relationship. I like to think they bond during the twins adult life and is very doting on his baby daughter.
1: Akira Morinozuka: The best dad. His work allows him to be very involved in his son's life. He was older when he became a father with Takashi so he was very mature and responsible and so doting when he and Satoshi was younger. I suspect his children were planned because he genuinely wanted to be a father, not just for an heir. I mean overall he's a fantastic father. You just have to look at him to think"wow that's a dad right there." He even looks like a dad.
He actually looks more like a grandpa but he would also be a fantastic grandpa.

Dancing is a Dangerous Game
Kyoya Ootori x Suoh!Reader (OHSHC)
Tumblr media
Hey guys! This is one that’s been in the Wattpad drafts for a while, so I finally finished it and wanted to post it here. Hope you enjoy it!
The first night of my last Ouran Fair, I found myself rushed from the frills and lace of my brother and I's Host Club duties to the pomp and circumstance of the Ootori estate. Though we'd both been here countless times, somehow it was now menacing, the very air in Uncle's office choking me into stiff silence. Tamaki's hand never left mine, doing most of the talking for me as usual while I stared across from us and wondered if I had made the right decision.
Kyoya's face was tilted down unless he was addressed directly, the glass lenses reflecting my frozen form and blocking his stony eyes from view. Before this moment, he had been a friend to turn to in need, both for Tamaki and for me.
It was our last year of high school. As the fraternal twin sister of Tamaki Suoh, I was a nearly useless thorn in the side of the matriarch of our family. Tamaki and I were so close, and Grandmother hated me even more than she hated him for the fact that in every deal he made with her, he ensured I could not be separated from him. My brother made certain he was the one in charge of me, despite our family's hold on him. Our senior year, Grandmother noted that my only use to the Suoh family was drawing nearer, and our father stepped in with Tamaki's pleading.
Yushio Ootori had also realized I was of age, that my future should be considered. With his youngest son already being such a good friend of the Suoh children, and my grades seemingly a good match for him, Uncle had been subtly scoping me out for a while. Tamaki hadn't wanted to discuss it with me for a long while once we'd noticed, too convinced he could keep me as his ward and under his protection forever. I finally got him to fold, though, and laid out my options. When the Ootori's extended the offer that year, Father hadn't wanted to make any choice, but my brother pushed him to accept; we knew this was the only good option we would get. It was the one that Grandmother would approve of and would be least miserable for me.
Before this moment, Kyoya had been someone to turn to, despite his icy facade. A part of me knew that even as his wife, there would be times he would be cold to me. There would be times we would fight, and scream, and tear each other apart down to the cold, concrete bones as we had in Music Room 3 so many times over the years. But I hoped that it meant there would also be the tense hugs in the back closet, the tightly whispered apologies by the piano, the long discussions in one another's backyards in the middle of the night to fix what we'd done. After that night, though, I felt a thick veil over me, and I wasn't sure how to think of Kyoya again despite this decision being one I agreed with.
The second night of our last Ouran Fair, I remember standing by myself at a table of refreshments. I can still see my fiance striding up gracefully, hands behind his back to join my people-watching. Kyoya was a handsome young man, I had to admit, but those kinds of thoughts only made confusion grip me tighter.
"Would you like to dance?" he asked after a moment. I was surprised, especially seeing the color begin to dust his ears despite his smooth tone.
I hummed, a smirk dancing across my painted lips. Was it a bitter one? I didn't know. "Dancing is a dangerous game, Ootori."
"So is the majority of our livelihood," Kyoya muttered, extending his elbow out for me. I snorted, still eyeing the crowd. He was right; aristocracy and wealth meant every choice was a chess move, careful strategy imperative to our survival. This engagement, it was just another forward move of our bishops, right under the noses of our families.
"Yes, but dancing is a different match entirely. It tends to bring one's emotions into play," I replied, the last bit soft and more to myself than anything. I noted with a half-smile how much I sounded like Tamaki when I was brooding. The thing was, I knew I was already overthinking the change in my friendship with Kyoya. If I let my guard down, I was sure the hopeless romantic Tamaki genes in me would come to the surface, and I would be screwed.
But then I noticed my friend's soft smile, pretty grey eyes studying me like they so often did. I felt a tug at my chest and felt something in me saying, this is it. Nevertheless, I placed my hand in Kyoya's offered arm and allowed him to guide me out to the floor. It was a field of bright colors, huge puffs of skirts twirling around sailing coattails. It was almost overwhelming to feel Kyoya pulling me out to the floor until a familiar, dramatic voice rang like bells in my ears.
"Ah, there you are! My darling sister!" Tamaki beamed. Before I or my fiance could blink, my brother's arm looped around my back and I was whisked away to dance with him. I couldn't help but laugh, the light in his cheerful face encouraging me to really smile. The grin never left Tamaki's face while he spun us, again and again like toddlers at a wedding.
I remember watching him reach for Haruhi when we stopped, only to see Kyoya slip in at the last minute, pulling her to him with something I could only describe as a smirk of revenge. Was that jealousy in his cool grey eyes? That night, I couldn't tell. It was almost parallel to the dance of the Host Club's parents last year.
The Hitachiins stood by me with an arm on each of my shoulders until Kyoya pushed Haruhi to my brother. It seemed like spotlights had honed in on the middle of the ball, making me nervous in the slow-motion moments of my fiance turning to face me. I felt two hands on my back, two on my shoulders. I didn't even have time for a nervous shake of the head.
Kaoru and Hikaru shoved me forward, almost falling into the young Ootori's arms.
"Damn you boys! I- sorry, Kyoya." I swallowed the cotton in my throat, looking anywhere but his face as we adjusted to the dance. Ever since I'd seen him in that office the previous night, something in me decided everything had shifted. I didn't know how to look at him the same.
"You know, this doesn't have to be painful," he noted gently, guiding my feet with graceful movements. His hands were gentle in mine and on my hip. I still wouldn't look at him.
"I'm not sure what you mean. There isn't anything paining me."
There was a scoff. "You act as though our arrangement has erased our friendship."
"Well, it has put an added layer on things for sure. I realize I may have inconvenienced you by agreeing to this," I sighed.
"Y/n, you know I asked for this as well, right?"
That finally brought my attention to his face. Kyoya tilted his head with a little knowing smirk. I didn't know how to respond, and thankfully he elaborated so I didn't have to.
"I saw an opportunity to, at the very least, help us both. Tamaki and I knew that it was only a matter of time before your grandmother made a decision to send you off that he couldn't fight, and I knew my father was looking to match me soon. Your brother can sometimes...not be such an idiot, it seems. We realized that in this scenario, both you and I were paired with someone we already trusted. And you could be safe, and still see Tamaki."
I gaped at him. "You suggested it to Yushio," I breathed. His smile confirmed my statement, though verbally he would never. Realization washed over me, leaving the motive clear as glass. "You could have easily maneuvered your way out of a marriage arrangement. You...You did this for me. You did this so that I wouldn't be stuck with Grandmother's choice."
"An interesting notion," Kyoya hummed. A smile graced his lips. I swore I could feel him pull me a little closer to him, and somehow, whether it was real or not, it made me feel secure. "Regardless, Y/n, you are a dear friend. And I would hate to see my best business partner put to waste in some other thoughtless arrangement. You're far too intelligent and useful."
I hummed in response, now fully grinning at Kyoya and relaxing in his grasp. "Business partner, hm? I suppose a partnership all around does suit us well. I can't imagine another that could keep up with me, Tamaki barely can and he shares most of my genetic material."
That got a small chuckle out of him, and the rest of the night continued with our people-watching coming from within each other's arms.
We spent our last year in school much the same as the rest, with only the Host Club informed of the engagement. I went on sometimes hosting clients and sometimes preferring to do the behind-the-scenes work with Kyoya, spending long nights at his estate when his family was away balancing the budget and trying to keep him company while he plotted his future. Other nights, I coaxed him to come to the second estate and relax with Tamki and I, where I could more easily force him to take breaks from work. What I had thought was already a close friendship with the Shadow King seemed to grow much  closer.
I remember the little laughs in class, every moment of idiocy from our friends prompting a shared look between us; the slightest sign of warmth from him always embedded itself into my brain. But why? I had been growing to love Kyoya. Despite the union being one made for reasons other than emotions, they were simmering. I can still remember waking up in his bed, scared shitless of a family member finding me after passing out from working too late and failing to sneak home. I remember Kyoya's arm securely around me, grumpily keeping me in place and assuring the door was locked.
And I remember him telling me, in the middle of the night the summer after we graduated, that he loved me.
It had been a few months before our wedding was scheduled, on an escapade out into the night through town. The commoner's side of the city this late at night was a common spot for him to drive me through on sleepless nights like these. I remember feeling like, for once, I was safe and loved and it wasn't just because of my brother.
------------------------------
Present-day
My tongue flexed at the rush of dark wine flowing over it, delicate crystal coming away from my lips with a pained sigh.
"I'm sure he'll call in a while," Kaoru said softly, laying a hand on my arm.
His brother scoffed, setting a tray of sandwiches down on the coffee table in front of us. "Tch. I hope the bastard does, I've got a few things I'd like to say to him myself."
"Hikaru," Kaoru scolded. The elder twin sighed, calming himself and sitting at my other side with an arm around my back.
"It's alright, Kao-chan," I said gently. "I'm angry too. Besides, I came to you two on purpose. I can't handle Tamaki's pity face while I'm still raging."
They nodded, still holding on in comforting touches while we sat in the living room of the Hitachiin mansion. I swallowed hard, the stone in my throat reminding me of the cold eyes I'd come to love so much. Who knew back then that an arranged marriage would form such a powerful pairing?
The Suoh and Ootori names had never been more respected. With Kyoya the head of the Ootori Medical Group now, and me working in the hospitals with him, all of Japan seemed to be proud of us--two children of the country's elite, never set up for success, somehow becoming leading forces in the next generation. Together, Kyoya and I had been able to run our lives much like we had run the Host Club, and we were happy...for the most part.
I took another sip of my wine, trying to force the bitter liquid to wash down the dryness of my throat. The diamond on my finger glittered at me, like the shimmer of my husband's glasses peering down at me again. I knew what he would say at my reaching for the drink. I knew the sneer that would crack across his handsome face.
No, I told myself. No, that was only the Kyoya that was angry. That was the Kyoya that was stressed at things that weren't me, that still struggled to handle the pressures threatening to break him.
My breaths were shallow as I glanced up to the twins on either side of me. They looked so grown now, and it was hard to imagine the mischievous youths I had known in the Host Club unless I looked in their eyes. They were watching some fashion show on the TV, Kaoru muttering his critiques or compliments while never taking his hand from my arm. Hikaru hummed in reply every now and then, arm wrapped securely around my back. He caught my eye first.
"Y/n-senpai," he began, narrowing his eyes at his crossed legs. "What exactly did he say this time?"
Kaoru turned swiftly to look between us as I laid back against the velvety cushions. "We don't mean to intrude, it's just, wouldn't he usually call by now?"
I rubbed my face in my hand. I had been here almost all evening, Kaoru was right. "I don't know. I left my phone in my bag in the foyer anyway. He needs time to cool down before I see what he has to say." That was partly true, though it often took longer for me to calm down than it did for Kyoya. A deep breath helped me continue and answer Hikaru's question. "Kyoya came home from work very high strung last night. Apparently, Akito has decided to start undermining Kyoya's plans for the company. He's only just found out because their father decided to break the news and see which son won this predicament. Not entirely sure the old man wasn't in on it. There was a lot of work at home Kyoya had to do to try and correct things."
"But doesn't Kyoya-senpai own the Ootori Medical Group now?" Kaoru asked. He turned to fully face me, drawing his legs up onto the couch. "I thought his brother and father just helped manage it from the inside like you do."
"That's the problem," I grunted bitterly, remembering my mistakes, and my husband's words thereafter. "His brother had been making decisions that were out of line, and either should've been collaborated with me and the rest of the management or gone solely to Kyoya. But Akito was having vague discussions with me and twisting my words so that when I gave any kind of positive feedback on snippets of information, he would take it as approval for huge deals, cuts, and communications that I wasn't fully aware of."
It wasn't until Kaoru dragged the sleeve of his sweatshirt across my cheek that I realized tears had started to fall. I thanked him, sitting up a little straighter and trying to contain the emotion to continue.
"I didn't realize it until it was a huge problem. But I had known Akito was dabbling in talking to some of our competitors and suspected some other minor things, and I should've told Kyoya about it. I knew he was edging into things he wasn't allowed but I couldn't fathom that he would go so far, and when Kyoya found out he--"
My throat hitched. It was like a dropkick to my vocal cords, seeing the rage in my husband's steely eyes towering over me again and hearing the betrayal in his voice.
Hikaru pulled me into an embrace, his brother scooting closer and wrapping around me as well while I tried to steady my breathing.
"He said he could never forgive me," I whimpered, voice barely audible in the shoulder of a Hitachiin. "I failed him. I failed us."
"You could have stopped this, but you chose to ignore it and let it tear my business and name to pieces!" Kyoya yelled. His face was shadowed razor-like locks of black hair, lenses glinting viciously in the dim light of the office. The shadows loomed over me, pressing me further in on myself to cower in fear and shame."You knew he was going behind my back, and you let him. You're nothing but a selfish bitch, and you're just as cruel as the rest of my wretched family! Get out of my sight!"
The memory made me cringe harder, barely hearing the ringing from a few rooms away. I felt Kaoru get up and leave me to hide in Hikaru's shoulder. Kaoru's voice eventually echoed back to me, though I couldn't make out the words. When he reentered the living room, I had managed to steady myself and sat up, apologizing for my outburst.
"You have nothing to apologize for," Hikaru scolded. "To us or to Kyoya."
Kaoru sat back down beside us. "That was the Boss calling you. I told him you were here so he'd stop panicking and wouldn't rush out here just yet. And Hikaru is right, you made a mistake but we all know you love him. Kyoya-senpai is just hurting is all. They have real power to make him suffer, and he's never really been free of that."
I nodded with a sniffle, pulling my legs to my chest. I was still in my slacks from earlier. "If Tamaki called, then that means Kyoya probably already spoke to him. I wonder what he said."
Kaoru frowned and shared a look with his twin but didn't answer, only handing me water and a half sandwich from the tray. I took it, forcing myself to eat and drink knowing it would help ground me and help me stop feeling so numb. I couldn't bear to think I'd really pushed him away for good.
The three of us sat for a while just quietly watching the television. It felt like at least an hour that I had been curled up there on the velvet cushions, holding onto the Hitachiin's to keep my mind from dragging me down. Guilt and heartbreak were trying to swallow me, and it was all I could do to keep them at bay.
A bell rang broadly through the house, dong, ding reverberating in the high ceilings as the scuttles of a few maids' shoes echoed across the floors. I cast a glance over the back of the couch, trying to get a glimpse of the foyer through the archway. My heart clenched, knowing it must be Tamaki here to get me. I was hopeful, longing for the comfort my own twin brought me now that I wasn't so angry anymore.
But then, a different voice sounded down the halls. "Please, you must let me through," it pleaded. I had never heard that voice sound so informal, so desperate. I wasn't sure I'd ever heard it forego addressing the maids in proper fashion.
Hikaru shot off of the couch, fists clenched as he stormed towards the door and his murmuring staff. Kaoru hurriedly ran after him, a worried look peeking out beneath his own anger.
"You listen here, you bastard!" Hikaru shouted. His finger was jutting out towards the newcomer, his face contorted in anger. "Do you have any idea what you've done this time? Do you have any idea how rashly you've acted? The greatest genius I've ever known, and you've become the biggest dumbass in only an afternoon!"
My feet had carried me without really thinking, one of the plush throw pillows from the sofa clutched in my arms like an anchor. The fabric of my socks padded along the wooden slats of the floor silently until I was standing in the living room archway, looking on at the sight in the foyer.
"I'm quite aware I've been a fool, Hikaru, now will you please let me deal with the consequences?!"
Everyone froze, the intensity of my husband's voice ringing out through the manor. It was then that his cool grey eyes noticed me down the hall.
The Hitachiins and their staff were forgotten, Kyoya's tall form shoving quickly past the group towards me. As he approached, I could feel two sides battling within me for control: the heartbroken side that wanted to embrace him and never let go, and the rageful side that wanted to confront him for his actions.
Kyoya reached me in long, quick strides and his arms enveloped me. His ragged breathing in my ear made my chest clench. But the angry side won.
I jerked away from him, a grimace contorting my face as I reared a hand back and slapped him. The pillow fell from my arms to the floor, my husband's face snapping to the side. He stood straighter and swallowed hard, fixing the glasses that somehow stayed mostly on his face.
"I...deserved that," he said tightly. His gaze was cast down, glasses blocking me from seeing his eyes.
Hikaru and Kaoru were gaping at me. "How could you say those things?" I wheezed. I was so angry, but I could still feel the painful sting of hearing his insults. I had gone numb sitting with the Hitachiins, and now all of the hurt was surging back and trapping my voice.
"I'm sorry, Y/n," was all Kyoya said. He wouldn't look directly at me, making sure to tilt his head to the floor and shield his eyes with the lenses covering them. His frame was tight, so much so that I could barely see him breathing. The whole room seemed frozen and tense, and yet my body was practically shaking with emotion.
"Kyoya, how could you?" I rasped. It was harder to talk than I had expected. I balled my fists in an attempt to relieve some of the pressure. It felt like something was sitting on my lungs.
He made no move to touch me, no embrace or kiss or even a grasp for my hand in comfort, simply clenching his own muscles and finally jerking his jaw up to meet my gaze. I suppose that was my fault.
That's when I realized why he hid his eyes. Kyoya's glare was full of emotion, dripping with hurt and nearly in tears. "How could you?" he asked, the muscle in his neck flexing. "How could you not tell me? What have I done to make you want to betray me like that?"
"Nothing, Kyoya!" I yelled. I had finally hit my breaking point, boiling tears streaking down my face in streams. "I didn't tell you because I didn't know, I never thought he would undermine you. How could I accuse him based on nothing but my own suspicions? Would you honestly have believed me if I came to you with no evidence besides distrust?"
Kyoya jerked his head to the side with a grimace, squeezing his eyes shut. His dark hair hung limply around his face. "We... could've looked into it, together. I shouldn't have blamed you. But if you truly were worried and came to me, I would have listened."
I took a ragged breath and a step closer. He didn't move. My mind flashed back to Music Room 3.
There was a teenage boy leaned against the piano, the rest of the room uncharacteristically empty. His muscles were clenched, trying so hard not to yell again behind a cloak of dark hair. As usual, both of us had made harsh mistakes, and this time I was the one who had to bridge the gap first.
I reached up and tried to cup his face, grazing my fingers across his cool cheek.
A phantom hand reached up to the Ouran uniform coat, clasping the boy's shoulder. The shoulders sagged, finally relaxing a little.
Kyoya reached up to grab my forearm, peering back up into my eyes. I saw him swallow hard, holding the tears down. He planted a kiss lightly on the inside of my wrist.
The boy turned, glancing over his shoulder at the arm holding him. He extended one of his own, pulling the arm to him. He pulled the only other occupant of the room against his side, pushed his glasses back up, and grasped onto her tightly, as if almost desperate. Quiet murmurs went straight from her lips to the cloth on his shoulder.
I gingerly pulled him closer, wrapping my free arm around his back. My throat was still tight, and I could hardly form words, but I hoped the embrace conveyed what I wanted to say. It seemed to work because Kyoya wrapped his arms around me as well, the bones in his body feeling stiff as glass. I knew I had hurt him, just as he had hurt me. I couldn't imagine what went through his head after believing I had conspired against him with his brother and father.
"I would never choose anyone over you, you know that, right?" I whispered. Kyoya tensed around me tighter, threatening to break at any moment if I couldn't ease him. My own hurt feelings had calmed now, seeing the regret he held, but I knew it would last longer with him in the form of insecurity. He had to know I was with him still.
"You chose me. You chose to help me back then, and I'm trying every day to make that decision be the right one."
"It was always the right decision," he chuckled quietly, squeezing a little tighter. "No one else could handle us but each other."
"He's damn right about that," Hikaru grumbled, and we became aware suddenly the twins had joined us back in the living room. Kaoru frowned and smacked his brother's arm, receiving a shrug in reply.
Kyoya pinched the bridge of his nose at their actions, silently growling a little. I slid my hand across his bicep to bring his attention back, and he peered down at me with a soft smile. "Y/n, why don't we go home and you can help me fix all this? We'll work it out together. It's how we work best."
"That sounds lovely," I replied, pulling away and taking his hand. "But we should probably go see Tamaki and Haruhi first. Knowing him, he'll be tailing us within the hour if we don't."
My husband grimaced, but allowed me to drag him to the door with only a few grumbles--grumbles I had grown to love.

OHSHC Imagine- Kyoya, Tamaki, and the Twins react to you playing Just Dance
Authors Note: Hello guys! It’s been a while since I’ve uploaded so here is a draft from the summer of my four favorite boys. Don’t worry, I’m working on some new stuff and will be up soon! I’m currently watching MHA so there will be content of that :) anyways enjoy this for now
TW: suggestive themes
• tamaki suoh
you smiled as you watched the disc slide into the console. just dance: a game you haven’t played in years, but one of your favorite video games growing up.
‘just dance! dance, dance!’ you heard the game say, and indeed you shall.
you guided the tiny hand across the screen to choose one of your old favorite dances. you pressed ‘a’ and the music recognized as good girl by carrie underwood started to play.
you play through half of the song and you already were 3 stars in. you heard the familiar squeak of your bedroom door open, the smell of tamaki’s cologne entering the room, though your oblivious self did not notice his presence.
your boyfriend leaned against the wall, his arms crossed as his eyes were stuck on your moving body.
he chuckled.
“you enjoying yourself there, princess?”
you gasped, pausing the game, turning to tamaki.
“hey babe,” you managed to say, blushing at the sudden embarrassment.
he must have sensed your shift of emotions because the next thing you knew his arms wrapped around your waist, turning on his princely charms you always fell for.
he caressed the side of your face, causing your pink cheeks to deepen to a crimson red, something tamaki was only able to do.
“now princess, don’t be embarrassed... you dance so gracefully. the sight of your smile causes the fountain inside of me to start overflowing.”
one thing for sure is he had a way with words.
“besides my love, you look sooo cute when you’re dancing!”
you laughed as you grabbed another wii remote, handing it to tamaki.
“wanna dance with me?”
he smiled as he grabbed the remote.
“okay, you may look cute while dancing but i will still beat you.”
“bring it on,” you said as you unpaused the game.
tamaki may have had a way with words, and he may be amazing at ballroom dancing, but one thing for sure:
he will never master the art of just dance the way you do.
the scores proved it.
player 1: 5 stars
player 2: 2 stars
• kyoya ootori
you began to grow bored watching kyoya type away at his laptop, he was sitting at his desk for hours as you were trying to find a foolproof way for him to finally stop. he had been working on something for the clients of the infamous host club, and nothing you could do could convince him to take a break.
you sighed and stood up, walking over to his dresser, where sat a wide screen tv and a game console. you flipped through the games he owned, pulling out just dance. you look over at kyoya, still clacking away at the keyboard. you roll your eyes and put the game on.
you scroll though the options and suddenly got an idea. you turn on the song mr saxobeat, hoping to gain your boyfriend’s attention with the suggestive moves in the dance.
the song began to play, and you turned to face kyoya, moving your hands seductively as if you were trying to pull him in with a non existent rope. he was facing your direction but his eyes did not even move off of the screen.
you continued without worrying about kyoya, until you get to the bridge of the song. you moved your body along to the beat, kyoya finally looked up and watched you with a smirk on his face. you had him exactly where you wanted him.
soon the song was back to the beginning, pulling the non existent seductive rope, to which kyoya actually played along with.
he walked towards you and grabbed you by the waist, pulling you into the warmth of his body.
“finally, i got you to get off the stupid laptop,” you muffled into his chest.
he chuckled softly, his hands on your hips.
“you should play with me kyo... i’m sure you’d be just fine at this game.”
he pulled away from you, adjusting his glasses as he kept that damn smirk on his face.
“that is an intriguing offer, in its own way. is this all part of your plan?”
“pshhh, no. it’s just that i would totally beat you..”
he kissed your temple.
“challenge accepted, my love. though, you should know. i never lose.”
and he was right, he never played the damn game in his life, and still managed to beat you. and the fucker still went back to that laptop right afterwards.
though, he still looked up at you when you were doing some not so kid friendly moves. and that’s when the laptop shut.
• hikaru hitachiin
you had just arrived at your boyfriend’s house, you stood at the door after knocking, waiting for hikaru. to your surprise, his twin, kaoru opened the door.
“hey, y/n, nice to see you, come on in,” the boy said, opening the door slightly for you to enter their mansion of a home.
“hikaru is in the living room, he’s kinda been in a shitty mood all day, so good luck,” kaoru warned before heading off.
this was no surprise to you, however, you were one of the few people who can change his mood within seconds.
you walked into the large room, seeing your boyfriend, slumped over on the couch.
“hey handsome, you okay?”
he crossed his arms as he felt the shift of the mattress.
“yeah, just bored. i was waiting for you all day.”
oh yeah, that’s right. you came over a few hours late. you decided you needed to find a way to make up for his bored-ness.
you put a hand on his knee, looking up to see his slight blush.
you move your hand slowly up his thigh and to his waistband, you hear his breathing hitch. bingo! now you knew exactly what you were gonna do.
you pulled your hand away and walked towards the tv. you heard hikaru groan.
“y/n...”
“oh hush, hikaru.. i’m gonna make it up to you.”
“i thought that was the part where you make it up!”
you chuckled as you turned on just dance, scrolling to the song.
“this is the part where i make it up to you,” you smirked knowing full well how suggestive this song was.
the song on the floor by jennifer lopez started to play. you knew the moves by heart.
you turned to face hikaru, imitating the moves of the tiny woman on the screen.
you noticed his demeanor change, and you can see the bulge in his dress pants grow. you could tell he especially liked when you shook your hips to the beat of the music.
at that point, the red haired boy couldn’t hold back any longer. he practically rushed to the tv, yanking the console’s cord out of the socket.
“aw hikaru... why’d you spoil my fun?” you smirked.
“i think you made it up to me plenty,” he spoke lowly, tugging at your jeans.
and soon enough, you both were literally on the floor.
• kaoru hitachiin
you sighed, turning towards your long-time boyfriend, kaoru. you were laying in his bed watching movies for the past couple of hours, but now you were quite bored, even though you did enjoy the comfort of being in his arms.
he looked down at you as you looked up at him, and you immediately locked eyes.
“bored?” you both asked.
you heard him chuckle as you shuffled closer into his chest.
“yeah,” you answered.
“well, what do you wanna do? we could go to the park, i could ask the club to get together, i can have hikaru grab us a pizza or something, uh—“
you smile just before you cut him off.
“i have the greatest idea.”
you suddenly see him perk up.
“ooh! are we gonna make out?”
you shook your head, then kissed his cheek.
“maybe later, handsome,” you said as you sat up, “i actually was thinking about a game i played when i was younger.”
“oh! a commoner’s game, fun!”
you gave him a glare, signaling him to shut up. you continued, grabbing your bag at the end of the bed.
“i actually brought it with me, you wanna play?”
“sure!” he said with a grin, taking the disc from you, “just dance? never heard of it.”
“seriously? it is like the best game of all time, kaoru! all you do is dance, but lucky for you, at least you’d look good doing it.”
he blushed at the compliment, not used to hearing any from anyone. he was used to handing them out to the ladies who came to the host club. but he learned to get used to them, especially when hearing it from you.
he popped the game into the console.
“you can have first pick, babe,” he said.
he had no idea what he was in for. you picked oh no by marina and the diamonds, one of your favorites.
not even a minute into the song, he was already complaining.
“y/n! how are you so good at this?”
the reason he said this was because he almost tripped over his own two feet for a spin move. you obviously perfected the move and dived right into a whole new one, scoring perfect on that one as well.
“well, i spent my whole childhood on this game, kaoru, maybe this is something i can teach you for once.”
he chuckled.
“i’ll tell you one thing, you are the one who looks good doing this, not me,” he breathed out, watching as you perfect yet another move, blushing slightly at the fact you were shaking your hips.
though being right beside him, you could feel his stare on you.
“get your mind out of the gutter, hitachiin, you have other things to worry about, like beating me at this game!”
“i don’t think so y/n,” he practically flops on the bed and lets out a breath.
“that i can agree on you with,” you say arrogantly, finishing the song.
“hey!”
you laughed, laying on top of him, seeing the red headed boy smirk.
“now can you take me up on that make out session, love?” he asked as he wrapped his arms across your body.
you chose to answer him by filling the gap between you both, both of you chuckling as you start to get carried away.
You were not bored anymore, that was for sure.

Classic shoujo mangas
1.       Skip Beat – ongoing
Sixteen-year-old Kyouko Mogami followed her childhood friend and love interest Shoutarou "Shou" Fuwa to Tokyo to support him while he works toward his dream of becoming a top idol in the entertainment industry. But after finding out that Shou considers her as little more than a mere housekeeper, she swears to enact revenge by entering the entertainment industry herself and beating him at his own game!
However, Kyouko's revenge plan suffers a setback almost immediately when she is rejected by the talent agency of her choice. Fortunately, the president of the agency gives her a second chance, and places her in the newly made "Love Me" section. Kyouko then begins her long journey to stardom, cultivating her skills as an actress and forming relationships with new friends along the way.
! I always loved this one, but it has really REALLY slow-pacing, and its ongoing, so if you haven’t started it yet, I’d wait ‘til it’s done.
2.       Ouran High School Host Club
At Ouran High School, an academy where only the children of the rich and powerful attend, there exists a club consisting of the most elite of the student body: the legendary Host Club. Within the club's room, six beautiful, bored boys spend their time entertaining equally beautiful and bored girls.
Haruhi Fujioka, a poor scholarship student, has no interest in the Host Club—until she breaks a valuable vase in their clubroom. After being mistaken for a boy, Haruhi is forced by Kyouya Ootori to work for the Host Club to repay her debt. Tamaki Suou, the princely leader of the club, eagerly takes her under his wing to teach her the ways of the host. Things, however, are never quite so simple with the Host Club around. Even the most mundane events can turn into huge spectacles with the likes of prankster twins Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin, stoic Takashi Morinozuka, and sweet Mitsukuni "Hunny" Haninozuka. The crazy adventures of the Host Club are just beginning, and Haruhi must learn how to survive in the glitzy world of the hosts.
3.       Kimi ni Todoke
Kuronuma Sawako is completely misunderstood by her classmates. Her timid and sweet demeanor is often mistaken for malicious behavior. This is due to her resemblance to the ghost girl from "The Ring," which has led her peers to give her the nickname Sadako. Longing to make friends and live a normal life, she is naturally drawn to Kazehaya Shouta, the most popular guy in class, whose "100% refreshing" personality earns him great admiration from Sawako. So when Kazehaya starts talking to her, maybe there is hope for the friendships Sawako has always longed for. Maybe...there is even a little hope for some romance in her future.
! A bit too long in my opinion, but its sweet.
4.       Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge
It's a gorgeous, spacious mansion, and four handsome, fifteen-year-old friends are allowed to live in it for free! There's only one condition—that within three years the guys must transform the owner's wallflower niece into a lady befitting the palace in which they all live! How hard can it be?
Enter Sunako Nakahara, the agoraphobic, horror-movie-loving, pockmark-faced, frizzy-haired, fashion-illiterate recluse who tends to break into explosive nosebleeds whenever she sees anyone attractive. This project is going to take more than our four heroes ever expected: it needs a miracle!
! This is super frustrating. I loved everything, except for the ending. Honestly, I don’t recommend reading it with great expectations, just enjoy the story.
5.       Dengeki Daisy
Teru Kurebayashi is left all alone in the world after the death of her brother, Souichirou. Well, all alone except for "Daisy," someone that she can always talk to and who never hesitates to cheer her up. However, Teru has never met Daisy, she has no idea what he looks like, and her only means of contacting him is through a cell phone that her brother left for her.
In stark contrast to the kind words and encouragement Teru receives from Daisy, she gets nothing but grief from the rude school janitor, Tasuku Kurosaki, who forced Teru to work for him after she accidentally broke a window. But while Kurosaki seems like a lazy good-for-nothing who only enjoys making her miserable, is there more to him than meets the eye?
6.       Kaichou wa Maid-sama
Seika High School was an all-boys school, but it has since turned co-ed. Misaki Ayuzawa is the first female student council president of the school, eventually earning the nickname of the "Demon President" due to her mastery of Aikido and imposed iron rule.
However, Misaki harbors an embarrassing secret—she has to work at a maid café to support her family. If anybody from her school was to find out, her reputation would be utterly destroyed. And after Takumi Usui—the most popular boy at school—discovers her secret, that might just happen.
7.       Special A
Have you ever known someone who was better than you at everything you did? Hikari does. She's known Kei since they were both six years old and he's surpassed her at everything. Now they are the top two students in an extremely prestigious high school, with Kei holding firmly to that number one position, and Hikari is still determined to beat him, no matter what it takes.
8.       Black Bird
Misao Harada has been able to see demons since she was a child and has vague memories of a boy who protected her from these troublesome creatures, vowing to come back for her someday. Now in high school, Misao wishes she could be normal and have a boyfriend. As she returns home one day, she notices a gorgeous stranger has moved in next door. To her surprise, he introduces himself as Kyou, her long-lost childhood friend and first love.
The next day, on her 16th birthday, Misao is suddenly wounded by a classmate. Exposed as a demon, he plans to eat her in order to gain eternal youth. When all hope seems lost, Kyou saves her, revealing himself as the leader of a Tengu clan. Since making Misao his bride will bring prosperity to his clan, he offers her a choice: sleep with him and become his bride, or endure more attacks from other demons drawn to the power of her blood.
! A bit dramatic to my taste, but overall I really liked it
9.     Last Game
Nothing is beyond Naoto Yanagi, heir to the Yanagi business conglomerate. Idolized for his athletic and intellectual competence, looks and wealth, Naoto lived like a king during his elementary school days—then entered Mikoto Kujou, a plain, gloomy-looking transfer student.
Due to her low financial status, Naoto was initially apathetic towards Mikoto. But despite having just arrived at his school, she completely eclipsed him in everything by consistently scoring top marks in exams and placing first in athletic events. After a brief confrontation with her that left him shocked, Naoto vowed to outdo her no matter the cost.
Ten years later, they are now students attending the same college. Having failed to defeat Mikoto throughout middle and high school, Naoto decides they will have one last game: if he can make Mikoto fall in love with him and then break her heart, it will be his victory. However, he finds himself falling in love with her instead...
! One of my favorites!
I love this one, but beware, its slow-paced

Mayhaps you could draw a Tulip Karasu? I just scrolled through them all and I love seeing your interpretations of them!
Aww, thanks, sweetheart! I'm glad you like what I've drawn so far. :3
Tumblr media
Hey, @weasley-adoptee, look -- it's your girl! 💗 Hee hee. 🤗 (This seems like an incredibly appropriate request, considering the cook-off side-quest that was just released!!)
Serial troublemaker Tulip Karasu is quite honestly the last person most anyone envisioned becoming friends with a paragon hero like Carewyn Cromwell. Even as friends, Tulip picks on Carewyn constantly, seeing her as a bit of a stick-in-the-mud, and has a lot of fun throwing "Little Miss Perfect" off her game. Despite this, though, Tulip does sincerely care about Carewyn, largely because the Slytherin is such a sincerely kind and compassionate person. Tulip really hadn't had a friend who was such a good listener before Carewyn, nor someone who would put in so much work to solve her problems or even just bring the smile back to her face when things got hard. So Tulip, for as much as she teases Carewyn, is actually oddly protective of her, most notably when it comes to people having crushes on her. Tulip knows overly sensitive Carewyn hates letting people down, and that includes romantically -- not only does Carewyn not like hurting that person's feelings, but she also resents that those students could express any sort of romantic feelings for her when they just about never know her that well, instead only seeing her as "Cursebreaker Cromwell." And so Tulip -- along with Charlie and Tonks -- tends to head off anyone who they hear is considering asking Carewyn out or sending her love notes on Valentine's Day. To quote an old platonic ask of mine about Tulip and Carewyn's relationship:
If Tulip ever catches wind that anyone might have a crush on Carewyn, she will usually take the piss out of them for it, but the type of teasing she uses depends on how she feels about the person in question. If it were a mutual friend, she’d just tease them as if they were her sibling. If it were someone Tulip doesn’t know well, but thinks seems decent enough, she’d probably try to pull pranks that would place that person and Carewyn in close proximity. If it were someone she thinks is out of Carewyn’s league (like, say, a much younger student), she probably would tease lightly at the start and then sort of pull them aside and “gently” (*snort*) break it to them that they’ve got no chance. (Tonks would probably have to be the one to soften that, if she were present.) And finally, if it were someone Tulip doesn’t like, Carewyn is actively not interested in, and/or is at all aggressive in expressing their feelings, Tulip would probably break out the more malevolent, targeted pranks to say not-so-subtly, “BACK OFF, BUB. :)”
Canonically, though, most of those people who crushed on Carewyn at school were in those last two categories. I based Tulip's hand with the letter off this one scene of Hikaru and Kaoru in Ouran High School Host Club because honestly the Hitachiin twins give me life. And here's Tulip's playlist, which served as good accompaniment while I drew this!
Send me a HPHM character request!

true enough to be convincing, unruly enough to be real
summary: tamaki needs someone to date, just for a week. it’s not a big deal, it isn’t. kyoya can pretend to be in love with tamaki for a few days. what could go wrong? the classic tale of boys fake date, boy wears other boy’s jacket, said boy is suddenly maybe not faking it so much as actually falling in love.
prompts: 3 + 28: fake dating + wearing the other’s clothes. for @wishiwasntstillhere ! i hope you enjoy :)
pairings: tamaki suoh/kyoya ootori
words: 3,441
warnings: none
“We have to be convincing,” Tamaki says, waving an arm vaguely in Kyoya’s direction. He has a tendency to talk with his hands, every other word emphasized by a wave or a clap or a clench of his fists. “We have to go all out.”
Kyoya closes his eyes, leaning against the headboard of Tamaki’s bed. They’re in Tamaki’s bedroom in the second Suoh mansion; Tamaki pacing in circles and the long-suffering Kyoya only half following what he’s saying. He’s still stuck on Tamaki’s words from five minutes ago: we should date. Oh, no, no— not for real, I mean— just pretend, for a bit. We should fake date, just for a week or so.
“Stop,” Kyoya says, squeezing his eyes tighter shut. Judging by the lack of creaking of the floorboards, Tamaki has stopped pacing and is staring at him. “Why do we need to do this?”
Tamaki sighs, and Kyoya looks over at him as Tamaki moves to sit on the bed. The mattress dips as he sits down, his hands going to rest on Kyoya’s ankles. “I kind of… Look, okay, there was this girl and she was asking me out and she was, like, so earnest about it, and I wanted to let her down easy, so—”
“So you told her we were dating?” Kyoya asks, raising an eyebrow. “That’s the stupidest and most you thing I’ve ever heard.”
Tamaki groans, pushing Kyoya’s ankles away from him. “I didn’t say it was you specifically, I just said that I was dating someone.”
“Then why are you asking me?” Kyoya licks his lips, studying Tamaki closely. There’s no reason that it has to be Kyoya that Tamaki is fake dating. “Literally anyone else would be better for this.”
Tamaki shrugs. “You’re the best liar I know, and…”
“And?”
“And I trust you,” Tamaki says, more in a breath than in words. He shifts, now sitting cross legged on the bed, pressing his hands against his knees. “You’re the only one I could pull this off with.”
“Not Haruhi?”
Tamaki shrugs. “I already asked her, and she laughed in my face.”
Something in Kyoya’s stomach drops at that, and he doesn’t know what it is, or why it bothers him, but there’s a sinking disappointment in his stomach that itches like a word on the tip of his tongue. It shouldn’t matter; Kyoya doesn’t even want to do this. He should be laughing just as Haruhi had apparently done, when Tamaki asked her first.
“Right,” Kyoya chokes out. He shouldn’t be so affected by that. He doesn’t care. He doesn’t care about any of this. “Fine. I’ll do it.”
Tamaki breaks out in a grin. “Thank you, mon ami. I owe you one—”
“You owe me everything,” Kyoya mutters. He inhales deeply. “What do you need specifically?”
“I don’t know,” Tamaki admits. He drops his hands to his ankles, swaying forwards and backwards as he looks at Kyoya. He’s never been one for sitting still. “Just… what people in relationships do.”
Kyoya narrows his eyes. “Tamaki. Have you ever been in a relationship before?”
There’s a pause. Then, “You know the answer to that question.”
Kyoya does know the answer to that one— no, neither of them have been in a relationship. Great, Kyoya thinks somewhat bitterly, his first relationship is going to be both fake and with Tamaki. He should be angry about that, but there’s a kind of swirl of confusion in his head instead, and he hates it.
“Well,” Kyoya says, sighing. He leans his head against the wall, the edge of the headboard digging into his shoulder blades. “Things people do in relationships. They’re around each other all of the time, they make each other laugh, they… touch.”
“Right,” Tamaki agrees. He’s still swaying, and Kyoya is finding the sound of shifting of fabric incredibly distracting. “They kiss.”
Kyoya swallows. He can feel the tips of his ears heating up. “We’re not kissing.”
“Please?”
“No,” Kyoya says firmly. “We have to have some boundaries, at least.”
Tamaki sighs, but then brushes it off with a shrug. “I guess that’s fair. Can we at least… kiss each other on the cheek?”
“If you insist.”
Kyoya finally meets Tamaki’s gaze, searching for some kind of joke resting in his eyes, some kind of laughter. But there’s nothing. Tamaki is deadly serious about all of this, and Kyoya can’t figure out how to feel about it.
He hates it, he wants to hate it, this is a ridiculous scheme, and it’s going to crash and burn around them, and for some reason, he wants to try anyway. It’s just like it was with the host club, Tamaki says an idea and Kyoya can’t help but fall in line, just another captivated Ouran student following Tamaki, Kyoya’s own personal pied piper.
“Thank you for this,” Tamaki says again, and Kyoya just nods numbly. “It’ll only be for a week and then you can publicly dump me, if you want.”
“I wouldn’t do it publicly.” Kyoya says it absentmindedly, not really thinking about what he’s saying, but then his brain kicks in again, and he’s suddenly thinking about this ending. What are they going to do when it’s over? It’s just a fake relationship, but there are careful, tight lines in their friendship, and Kyoya has just agreed to cross all of them.
He thinks back to what he had told Haruhi only a few weeks ago, that his friendship with Tamaki is based entirely on self interest. It’s not true, and everyone around them knows it. It’s just that they genuinely like being around each other; but Kyoya will turn over in his grave before he ever says that out loud. Even if they genuinely like each other, there are still lines.
Then again, Kyoya draws careful lines in the sand with everyone he meets and interacts with. Lines between acquaintance and ally. Between business partner and friend. Between friend and family. Between friend and lover. Within those lines, too, there are promises that Kyoya makes to himself— you can never let a hand linger too long, or your gaze hover on someone for even seconds past friendly, or your thoughts center around one idea for too long.
All of those rules go out of the window when he’s around Tamaki.
When he leaves the Suoh manion and heads home, Kyoya can’t tear his thoughts away from Tamaki. He can’t stop thinking about this plan, about this ridiculous secret that they’re both now holding. Tamaki had seen him off at the door, kissing his cheek, like any good boyfriend would do, Kyoya, and Kyoya can still feel the warmth of Tamaki’s lips against his cheek. It’s the cold, Kyoya tells himself, and not a blush that lingers on his cheeks long after he’s left the Suoh property.
He tries to shove the whole plan out of his head that night. He has to, just to be able to sleep at night, just to be able to stop thinking about Tamaki. He doesn’t think he’s felt this obsessive since he first met Tamaki and drove himself crazy trying to fulfill his every whim as they traveled around Japan.
It’s not until the next morning, finding himself in a shopping center with the Hitachiin twins, that he realizes that fake dating Tamaki means that everyone around them thinks they suddenly get to judge their… relationship.
Kyoya didn’t know what he expected, knowing them. He didn’t know why he thought for even a second that they wouldn’t care— it’s not necessarily judgement that he’s suddenly faced with, but it’s definitely a conversation he hadn’t meant to start, and didn’t particularly want to finish.
He meets the others at the front door of the shopping center, finding that he’s the last one there. Hikaru and Kaoru both wave at him as he approaches, and Kyoya is about to wave back when he catches Tamaki’s eye. Tamaki is smiling, but there’s a knowing glint in his eye that Kyoya doesn’t really know what to think of. Is there a word for the kind of glow that’s hovering at Tamaki’s cheeks right now? Is there a word for the way that Kyoya’s heart is suddenly falling to pieces?
He’s about to say hello, just treating everything as normal, and then Tamaki skips forward and kisses him on the cheek. It’s soft, the kind of touch that’s barely there, but it makes Kyoya shiver. Tamaki’s breath is warm on Kyoya’s skin.
It’s not an act when his cheeks heat up and the tiniest of smiles finds its unwilling way to his lips. It’s not an act when his heart pulses; a green light asking for more. He wants to smile fully, bravely— and then he remembers.
He remembers that this isn’t real, and Tamaki is feeling nothing. Kyoya swallows, steeling himself, and pushes his glasses farther up his nose. He’s not feeling anything either.
“Hi,” he says quietly.
“Hi,” Tamaki says, and it’s with the kind of grin that makes Kyoya burn with a fake romance.
Kyoya finally tears his eyes away from Tamaki and towards the other two who are waiting for them; Hikaru is staring with wide eyes, while Kaoru has a kind of unimpressed look in the tilt of his chin.
“Did you finally sort yourselves out, then?” Kaoru asks. “Are you dating yet?”
Kyoya stares. “I—”
“Yup!” Tamaki grins, then slides his hand down Kyoya’s arm to tangle their fingers together. His palm is sweaty as Tamaki squeezes his hand. “It’s new, though.”
“Finally,” Kaoru says with half a laugh. “Haruhi and I had a bet on how long it would take. Oh, she’s gonna be in debt forever.”
Tamaki rolls his eyes, but he’s still smiling as he leads the way into the shopping center. He doesn’t let go of Kyoya’s hand the entire time. Kyoya is pretty sure that his heart is pulsing in his wrist, dripping down into his palm; he’s pretty sure that Tamaki is holding Kyoya’s entire soul right now, and he doesn’t know.
“This is going to be easier than I thought,” Tamaki whispers, leaning closer to Kyoya, his lips hovering by Kyoya’s ear. “They’re falling for it so easily.”
Kyoya can only nod. This is going too far and too fast— or, it’s barely going at all, except for the fact that Kyoya’s mind is jumping light years ahead of we’re just pretending and right to this is getting all too real.
“So,” Hikaru starts, keeping pace next to Kyoya, who is still holding Tamaki’s hand like a life line. “When did this happen?”
Kyoya swallows, glancing over at Tamaki. They should have gotten their story straight before they had gone out into the world holding hands. He can so easily imagine Tamaki turning to Kaoru, who walks beside him, and saying that they’ve been dating for years, all while Kyoya tells Hikaru that it’s been hours.
“A few days ago,” Kyoya manages to say. He says it smoothly, somehow, his tongue so practiced at smoothing over all the bumps and inconsistencies in his lies. “Like Tamaki said. It’s new.”
Hikaru shoves his hands in the pockets of his jeans, glancing at Kyoya from the corner of his eye. “So you haven’t been pretending you’re not together for years now? Because that was my bet and—”
“Shut up,” Kyoya says, rolling his eyes. He looks away from Hikaru and towards the crowded walkways that they’re entering. “We were just friends, until recently. That’s the truth.”
“Sure,” Hikaru says, grinning.
It’s a subdued, or doubtful, grin, but Kyoya doesn’t get the chance to ask before Hikaru is bounding forwards, pointing towards the food court. Tamaki agrees enthusiastically, and the four of them make their way there. Tamaki never lets go of Kyoya’s hand— that much is real.
They order food quickly, not bothering to think too hard about it. This is, as Tamaki put it, just a fun day out, pretending to be commoners. Kyoya, though, knows what it’s really about— it’s a test run of their fake relationship, to see how well they can fit themselves into the world and into their little friend group. It’s a test run to see if they can really pull this off; they have one of the more observant people they know and one of the more gullible people they know, and that’s a good range. Kyoya, if he weren’t so distracted by Tamaki’s hand resting on his knee, would almost admire the plan.
He’s so distracted by the fact that Tamaki is tapping his fingers against Kyoya’s leg that he doesn’t notice when Tamaki waves a hand just the slightest bit too enthusiastically, sending an uncapped bottle of soda flying across the table. It spills open and out, right onto Tamaki’s shirt.
Four people spew a string of curses as Tamaki jumps up, knocking over his tray with the half eaten hamburger on it, sending that spilling over onto the table, too. Kyoya grabs the soda bottle before it can do more damage, but it’s too late. Tamaki’s shirt is soaking wet, and while he grabs the thinnest of napkins to try and dry it, it’s a fruitless effort. Hikaru is just laughing, while Kaoru tries helplessly to hand over more napkins.
Tamaki swears again, tossing the napkins onto the table. He sits down with a humph and sighs. Kyoya, so quickly that he’s almost unaware of it, finds himself sliding an arm around Tamaki’s shoulders— this is what a boyfriend would do, right? Hold Tamaki when he’s upset? Kyoya thinks he’s guessed right, because Tamaki leans into his touch, burying his face in Kyoya’s shoulder.
“My shirt’s soaking wet,” Tamaki moans.
The vibrations of his words against Kyoya’s collarbones make him shiver, and he sighs. “You should be more careful.”
Tamaki sits up again, slowly, but doesn’t fully pull away. Instead he rests his cheek against Kyoya’s shoulder, eyes closed. Across from them, Kaoru is grinning.
“Cute,” he says, and Kyoya glares at him. It doesn’t deter him at all, and Kyoya just finds his face muscles growing tighter and Kaoru’s smile growing wider.
“Shut up,” Kyoya mutters.
It’s all a part of Tamaki’s game, though, and so Kyoya can’t find it in himself to be mad. If Kaoru thinks they’re cute, then they’re pulling this off well. That’s the important thing; not this stupid fluttering in his heart everytime Tamaki’s hand gets close to Kyoya’s knee. Kyoya swallows down any reservations, only to turn his head and press a light kiss to the top of Tamaki’s head. It’s tender and private and it comes so naturally that, for a moment, Kyoya forgot it was a performance.
Tamaki doesn’t react to the kiss at all, except for the tiniest of smiles.
“Cute,” Hikaru says, in an exact, smiling imitation of how Kaoru had done it. Kyoya hates them both.
Lucky for him, though, no one at that table has a good attention span, and so none of them focus on that kiss for too long. Instead, Kaoru points out one of the department stores that he had wanted to check out while they were there, and the four of them disentangle themselves from the mess, throw away their napkins and half eaten food, and start to leave the food court.
“People are staring,” Tamaki complains. He’s walking next to Kyoya, so close that their shoulders brush every now and then, Tamaki leaning into every touch. Hikaru and Kaoru walk in front of them.
“It’s because you’re covered in soda,” Kyoya says. He thinks that it’s a perfectly reasonable thing to say, but that just makes Tamaki pout more.
“I know.” Tamaki sighs, crossing his arms tightly around his chest. It does nothing to cover up the stain.
Kyoya looks over, scanning the disappointment on Tamaki’s face and the hunched over way he’s carrying himself, and then sighs. “Here. Take my jacket. If you zip it up, no one will be able to see anything.”
“Are you sure?” Tamaki asks. He says it slowly, but he’s already brightening up. “You won’t be cold?”
Kyoya shrugs. “It’s May. I’ll be fine.”
“Thanks,” Tamaki says, grinning.
Kyoya sighs, but it’s not a tired sigh— it’s an exasperated, happy sigh that only a lover can make. He shrugs off his jacket and holds it up for Tamaki to put on. Once it’s on, Tamaki turns to face Kyoya, his smile like a wound in Kyoya’s composure, and puts his hands to his waist.
“How do I look?” he asks.
“Fine,” Kyoya says, rolling his eyes. “The whole point is to zip up the jacket, Tamaki.”
Tamaki laughs at that, unbothered by the tone of his voice. He zips up the jacket and then poses again, hands on his hips, smiling. “Now?”
“Good,” Kyoya says. He looks more than good, but Kyoya will be damned before he says that out loud. Fake, fake, fake, he chants to himself. “Let’s catch up to Hikaru and Kaoru, I think they already went inside.”
Tamaki nods. He starts walking forward, and then pauses to look at Kyoya. He puts his hand up in the air between them, and Kyoya feels a boiling smile working its way through his chest when he takes Tamaki’s hand.
The four of them spend the rest of the day like that, wandering through the shopping center, making their way through every department store and every chain store and every miscellaneous merchandise stand. Somehow, the day passes quickly. Kyoya had expected it to drag on, to be painful to spend so much time somewhere like a mall, but by the time that they start leaving, he finds that he had actually had fun.
They part ways at the front of the shopping center, where Hikaru and Kaoru go off to Parking Lot A. Kyoya and Tamaki walk together to Parking Lot C, Tamaki swinging their interlocked hands in the air between them.
“This was fun, don’t you think?” Tamaki asks, smiling at Kyoya.
“It was,” Kyoya admits.
They’re still holding hands, though no one is around them, and Kyoya can’t help but hope that Tamaki doesn’t notice that there’s no reason to pretend anymore. He can’t help but hope that Tamaki keeps holding his hand. It’s a deep, selfish desire that Kyoya cannot say out loud.
“This is my car,” Tamaki says, stopping in his tracks. Still, he doesn’t let go of Kyoya. “Hey— thank you. For today.”
Kyoya frowns. “What do you mean?”
“Pretending,” Tamaki tells him, as if it’s supposed to be obvious. Now that he says it, Kyoya feels sick with how unobvious that had been to him. “I know we agreed last night, but I didn’t really think you would. Thank you.”
Kyoya swallows. Tamaki hadn’t expected anything of him. Looking back over the day, Kyoya is suddenly wondering how much of what he had done had just been because he wanted to. Did he— did he want to kiss Tamaki so tenderly when his head was resting against Kyoya’s shoulder? Did he want to hold Tamaki’s hand? Did he—
“Yeah,” Kyoya says carefully. He can’t afford to break face now. “Anytime.”
Tamaki nods, smiling. It’s a bright smile, but something about it is different from the ones he had been giving Kyoya earlier. He lets go of Kyoya’s hand, patting the pockets of his pants until he finds his keys. “I promise you can break up with me in a few days.”
“I look forward to it,” Kyoya chokes out. He takes a deep breath, then moves a few steps backwards. “I’ll see you at school.”
Tamaki finds his keys and gives Kyoya a wave as he unlocks his car. Kyoya has only just turned and begun to walk away when Tamaki calls out his name again— Kyoya’s heart jumps onto his tongue, stupidly quickly, enough to make him almost say, I love you, even though he’s not really sure if it’s true yet.
“Kyoya!” Tamaki calls again, and Kyoya turns back to him. “Your jacket!”
Tamaki has unzipped the jacket, and the wet stain on his shirt has since dried off. Kyoya’s jacket hangs tightly against his shoulders, though they’re probably about the same size, and the black fabric is a dark shadow against Tamaki’s pale skin. Even in the concrete limelight of the parking lot, he looks radiant.
“Keep it,” Kyoya says, and Tamaki frowns, as if he can’t hear. “Keep it! It— it looks good on you.”
Tamaki grins, and he blows a kiss towards Kyoya. It makes Kyoya glow, deep inside, and that’s not something he can fake.
Oh, he’s so screwed.
