Platonic Yandere Strawhats p2:
.
Nami is the typical definition of a "devil wearing the mask of an angel". She toys with you like she does with everyone else, but ONLY SHE is allowed to do so. ONLY SHE is allowed to tease you, mess with you, troll you. Any strawhat that draws away your smile will get the most horrendous murderous fists from the said navigator. And even worse, any STRANGER that disturbs your serene demeanor will have the thunderbolts of Zeus raining down on them, Nami will summon the deadliest clouds and burn his soul alive. Things will get SOOO messed up that even Sanji will start second guessing his actions...
.
Ussop's entire dedication is on making you laugh, he wants to hear your serotonin-ical giggles even if it takes him diving head-first into the skypian bottomless sea. He works so hard, diligently, to make you the craziest inventions, making sure to follow your preferences. Something so simple and pure, he'll be like your goofy partner in crime and twin brother, always by your side at the worst of times. But don't let that overzealous exterior fool you, this man's sense of vengance knows no bounds. Thus when it comes to you, the fearful yelps you'd always expect from him simply, vanish! The moment he spots a frown on your face, it's game over. He'll shoot blizards and flames if that's what it gets for your revenge , to teach that low-life a lesson. Ussop doesn't even need Sogeking to go maniac, his slingshot will wreck buildings, towers, ships, you name it. Not to mention, if it were a strawhat that hurt you, he'll make sure to give them a good threatening piece of his mind.
.
Chopper's yandere mode is his rumble form. Without a second thought, he'll chow down on that orange pill the second he sees you in danger. Otherwise, he's still your same-old cheery reindeer, full of innocence and life. Surprisingly though, he absolutely LOVES your compliments, and does all sort of things to earn your favored impression. This furball doesn't get all tsundere-like when you praise him, always stating how much he likes your words, and using that as an excuse to curl up next to you. When it comes to healthcare, his huge overprotectivness on his new patient even makes Zoro show some pity. You're scheduled to his office every passing 15 minutes, a full on check-up. Upon seeing the slightest bruises, my man here will bombard you with worried questions, you fell on the floor? He'll hand you the herbal drinks of the world. Someone did this to you? Chopper will call on the whole strawhat crew, to "have" him apologise-... of course.

a slightly nicer sketch from roughly the same time as my other nami sketches.
I had thought I would turn this into a full painting, but I really wasn't liking how it was shaping up so this is as far as it went. I am still thinking of doing a full portrait series for the strawhats tho, so hopefully take 2 of nami will work out better for me lmao

Drunk Sex with Zoro
(NSFW)
Zoro x (y/n) implied to be a female reader
Warning - drunk sex, mentions of alcohol, mention of throwing a glass bottle and breaking
Summary - zoro x female reader, (y/n), drunk sex, female orgasm, mirror sex, male orgasm, creampie
Word count: 1,300
______________________________________________
(Y/n) and Usopp stumble onto the deck in a laughing heap. The crew had a party down in the aquarium bar and it was starting to fizzle out. Knowing you’d never win against Zoro, you challenged Usopp to a drinking match. Both of you had called it a draw as you equally agreed that you couldn’t drink a single drop more.
“As if! There is no way you would get away with that!” You laugh at Usopp as he declares another idiotic plan
“That sounds like a challenge to me” Usopp retorts
“Nami’s going to kill you!”
“She has to catch me first”
“You’re so dead, you know that right. She will show no mercy on you!”
Zoro soon followed you and Usopp on the deck, sipping away at another bottle of alcohol. You look up smiling when you see him, motioning to the man you love to come over to you and Usopp.
“That’s why we have Zoro. He’ll protect us against Nami!”
“I’m not fighting that crazy woman. You’re on your own” Zoro scoffs
He motions for you to stand up, “crows nest?”
You nod, standing up carefully, wobbling a little as you do. You hang onto his bicep for balance and wave back to Usopp. “Good luck with your plan!”
You make it to the bottom of the pole, attempting to climb up but slip, giggling as you do.
Zoro groans grabbing you, hoisting you over his shoulder. You try to protest but he is already climbing up towards the crows nest. He plops you down as soon as he enters, shutting the door behind him. You try and steady yourself and look back over at him.
He gulped down the remains of his alcohol, his good eye never leaving you. It wondered up and down your body almost as if he was seeing you for the first time. A haze of lust burning as he watched you. He quickly ran out of alcohol breaking his eyes off you quickly to check that it was indeed empty. Satisfied at his conclusion he chucked the bottle behind him, a loud clatter of glass shattered rang through the crows nest. He stalked over to you, almost primal, and pushed you up against the wall. His arms out next to your head boxing you in. The hint of lust was still present as he watched you even closer now.
“I need you, (y/n). Right now”
You didn’t have much time to answer before his lips crashed against yours feverishly. His tongue explored your lower lip, pressing himself deeper into your mouth for access. You accept and his tongue danced against yours, the taste of sake mixing with the combination of both of your salivas. You pull back, lifting your dress over your head, followed by your panties. Zoro follows suit, taking off his own clothes and throwing them into a heap. He stands there looking at you, stroking his hard cock, motioning to the floor next to the both of you.
“Lie down for me”
You obey, lying down on the cold wooden floor, him following you soon after. The sensation causes your nipples to perk up and you groan at the cold contact on your back.
He caged you under him on the floor, the smell of sake lingering as he breathed into your ear. You tried to steady your breathing, knowing how easily undone the man over you could make you feel. He started grinding himself up against your wet folds, a low grunt escaping his lips as he did. You tried to match the pace of his grinds, making him chuckle darkly.
“Please, Zoro. Don’t tease”
“You’re so desperate for me to take you right this second, aren’t you”
All you could do was nod.
“Alright then, princess. I’ll give you what you want”
Without a second thought, he thrusted all of himself deep into you. You cried out, gripping the skin on his back. The stretch of him inside you felt almost dream like. It hurt at how thick he was stretching you out, making your vision go foggy, but at the same time, feeling so full of him was so deliciously wonderful. He gave a moment for you to adjust, watching your face for any sign of hesitation, before slowly sliding out, almost to the tip. Another low grunt escaped him, his eyes closing tightly as he tried to keep himself from pounding you like an animal. He inched in slowly, his frame sturdy above you. You wrap your legs around him, “mmm, more. I need more of you. Please”.
How he could deny such a polite request?
He began to hammer himself in you mercifully. Your cries echo the room as his pace gets quicker and quicker until you start to space out, not knowing whether he was going in or out of you.
With every sharp thrust against the floor, the deeper inside you he went. Each snap creating a loud thud against the wooden floor that you were sure the rest of the crew could hear loud and clear.
He leaned down and began to suck on your nipples hungrily. His tongue flicking over the bud making you arch your back in pleasure. His attention moves from one bud to the other, sucking and nipping at it gently.
As you felt your orgasm nearing you tried to grab onto him to ground yourself. His back. His arms. The nape of his neck. Anything you could get your hands on. He knew you were close. He adjusted your leg up around his arm, hooking it over to allow himself to go deeper still. Something you didn’t even know was possible. You feel the growing warmth in the small of your stomach, your head leaning back, your eyes shutting tight.
“Mm” he grunted, a lewd pop escaping him as he let go of your nipple from his mouth. He pulled your face down to look at him. “I want you to look at me when you cum. I want to see you fall apart”. His hand moved from your face down to your swollen clit, rubbing large circles with his thumb. A loud rippling moan escaped your lips when you finally snapped, your body seizing as you looked up at the man you loved so dearly. You continued to squirm under him as he pounded you hard through your orgasm, his pace never wavering.
As you come down from your orgasm he wraps you around him, lifting you up off the floor. He walks you over to the mirror that stood by the workout equipment in the side of the room. It was dark, but the moon lit enough to see your bodies connected in the reflection.
You watched hazily as his length moved in and out of you, his arms wrapped around your waist thrusting you down onto him. It was almost hypnotic watching him pound away into you like this, his head tilt back, his eyes shut, brow furrowed. His lips slightly parted, dragging out low groans as you continued to clamp down around his throbbing cock. The way your bodies moved as one started to grow that familiar warm feeling in your stomach again. You look back over at Zoro, “mmm, gonna cum again”.
He opened his eye, looking down at you, moving you over to his weights bench. He lies you down, your legs hooking over his shoulders as he stood at the end of the bench pounding hard into you again. You grab onto his arm, your other hand going down to rub your clit sending you over the edge again. As you cum this time, Zoro leans down, pressing a hard kiss against your lips, muffling you as you moan out in delight.
“Ugh, I’m gonna finish” he mumbles against your lips, his thrusts beginning to get sloppy. You start trusting up against him to help him finish, and with a few steady thrusts he shoots ropes of his warm cum deep inside you.
He peels you off the bench and sits down on the floor, his cock still buried inside as you wrap yourself around him. You lean your head in the crook of his neck and shut your eyes. He traces light circles on your back and you chuckle.
“Maybe I should challenge Usopp to drinking more often”
“Mmm, that’s if Nami doesn’t kill him first…”

Spring was nearing to an end, the cherry blossom trees were on the verge of falling and the nights were filled with the sound of rain. Days passed and your spring break ended.
The weather had been horrible, no sunny days were near. The cloudy and gloomy days were ongoing. The weather report stated that the next few weeks would be cloudy and or rainy.
Your spring break was ending and school was around the corner. For the last day of break you did nothing but stay in bed, Utahime was out visiting her family so you were left alone to sulk on what you had overheard before break begun.
Your last day was spent thinking how you’d be able to look Gojo in the eye after the information you acquired. “Who am I kidding? It’s not like he’s talking to me anyway.”
You fell asleep sulking on the fact that tomorrow was hours away.
⋆ 💌 ⋆
You walked up the steps, reminiscing on the day you overheard Utahime and Gojo’s conversation. You knew that it was something that you couldn’t bring up so casually and that it was something that have had to come from Gojo’s heart. Gojo was the only one who would’ve been able to tell you, out of respect you decided not to poke your head into business that wasn’t yours.
You reached the floor where your class was held and pursued your way to class, along the walk there Nanami had walked by your side.
“Good morning Y/N.”
“Moring Nami,” you looked up at him and nothing had changed, still the same old Nanami, “You look the same.”
“Is that supposed to be a bad thing?” Of course it wasn’t a bad thing, you hated change. You’ve always loved consistency.
“Mmm, not particularly. See you later?” Nanami nodded and you both went your separate ways.
You picked a seat and got yourself ready for the first boring day back. You dreaded this specific class, and what made you dread it even more was the fact that Gojo had the exact same schedule as you.
It didn’t help that the person who sat next to you was the person who you sought to ignore.
“Miss me?” You knew who it was without even turning your head, it was the same person who was able to get your heart pounding, the one and only stupid Satoru.
You didn’t answer him, you felt as if there was nothing to say. It’s been weeks since he ignored you. Why the sudden change?
It wasn’t that he knew you were eavesdropping, right?
“Hey,” he nudged your elbow with his “No need to ignore me.” Hypocrite much? He rested his big, fat, obnoxious, ugly, bug-looking head on his palm and looked straight at you. His crystal blue eyes were practically burning holes though your head.
⋆ 💌 ⋆
Throughout the lecture you were being bothered by Gojo, any chance he got he’d nudge your elbow and whisper things like
“Hey, are you mad at me?” “Of course I’m mad idiot, you ignored me for weeks” is what you wanted to say
“Y/N, talk to me”
“Y/N the lectures almost over”
“Y/N let’s have lunch!”
You didn’t respond, it was time for Gojo to be ignored while you did the ignoring. Noticing that you wouldn’t respond he began passing you notes, he’d write down things on sticky notes and stick them on your notebook, arm, and even head.
Most of the things he wrote were trying to get your attention, and when he got bored he began drawing penis’s on the notes and sticking them all over your arm. You gave him the side eye signifying you were done with his shit.
He looked up at you and noticed your sharp gaze, “I’m sorry.” He said as he took the sticky notes off your arm, notes, back, and backpack.
He sat quietly next to you until the lecture was over.
He noticed you weren’t packing your things, “Hey, class ended. Come on Y/N let’s get lunch.” He pulled your arm and grabbed your notebook.
“Gojo would you please leave me the fuck alone? I’m trying to work on this godforsaken project that you were supposed to help me with.” Gojo let go of your arm and flipped through your notebook.
“These note’s suck Y/N we’re never gonna get an A with this.” he looked at you innocently as you violently grabbed the notebook from his grip.
“Fuck off Gojo, I’m trying here.”
“Not hard enough.” you sighed and packed your things going into the opposite direction from him. You were sick of Gojos antics.
⋆ 💌 ⋆
You found a seat at the very back of the library, you came here often especially when it was to study. You liked how peaceful it was and how not many people were around giving you the advantage.
Just when you were about to open up your notebook you were startled when hands appeared in front of your eyes.
“Haha, so funny. I’m dying. Gojo i swear to god keep bugging me and I’ll kill you.” You later realized that Nanami’s hands were over your eyes after he let out a small laugh.
“You sound stressed.” Nanami pulled the chair beside you and sat down, “You okay Y/N?”
“Yeah sorry, this projects killing me.”
“Mhm, is Satoru not helping you?” you flinched at his name, you had given up on calling him Satoru. He broke your trust. You hoped that he’d realize you went back to calling him Gojo, right?
“Not in the slightest.”
Nanami helped you revise your notes and for the rest of the break period you and Nanami caught up. You had heard how his spring break was and how he trip to Malaysia with his family went. You and Nanami had grown closer, and this didn’t go unnoticed by a certain blue-eyed boy.
⋆ 💌 ⋆
The following day Gojo again tries to talk to you but you ignore him, you were done with the inconsistency he had with you and you hated the fact that you’d always find yourself slipping when it came to him.
“Y/N come on, why would you talk to me?”
Silence
“Y/N please.” still nothing, “I’ll work on the rest of the project if it means you’ll talk to me again.”
“Okay deal but you’re on thin fucking ice Gojo.” and again you let yourself slip.
You had thought it’d be best for you to bury what you had heard about him deep into your heart. It was something that Gojo himself would decide to tell you and if he never spoke up about it, it comes to show that he never truly cared about you. You wanted to believe he did but why was it taking him so long to fess up?
“Hey, let’s go on another date to you know.. catch up?”
⋆ 💌 ⋆
It was a Saturday afternoon, the skies were gloomy and grey and the weather was still horrible. The weather constantly put you down, you felt like it was too much of a drag to even get out of bed.
“Oh that’s right, I have a date with Gojo today.” You almost had second thoughts with the way you felt, you wanted to stay in a ball wrapped up in your sheets.
Nonetheless you still got ready, during break to keep yourself distracted you went shopping for new clothes, you wanted to give yourself a new imagine, a makeover. It was time you come out of your shell, new beginnings were approaching, you couldn’t stay the same forever. You wanted change, you almost craved it.
⋆ 💌 ⋆
It was 6:47, You waited at the train station for Gojo, you came there fairly early but you couldn’t wait to get this stupid date over with. You don’t even know why you agreed, one thing led to another and your mouth moved on its own and now you’re here.
You knew you had came a few minutes too early but you didn’t expect to wait a total of two hours. It was about to be nine o’clock and yet no sign of Gojo, not once did he text or call.
“Maybe he forgot..” you sighed and looked up at the dark cloudy skies. “Ha, who am I kidding he didn’t forget.” You knew Gojo was a player, tons of girls fawned over him and craved his attention. You knew Gojo couldn’t resist their attention. You knew that the last thing he would crave, was yours.
Still, you waited another hour. By now there were a few crowds of people but you still weren’t able to spot the blue-eyed man.
Another hour passed by and it was nearing midnight. You wanted to believed he’d show up and that he didn’t forget, but with Gojo believing was never bound to end up well.
You took a deep breathe and stood up from the bench you were hopelessly waiting at. You dragged your feet to the exit and just as you were about to take the first step leading outside your eyes met with a panting Gojo
“Y/N.”
Was your hope being tested?
“Y/N, I am so sorry. I thought our date was tomorrow and then I saw-”
You cut him off by pulling him into a hug, “Shut up Satoru.” Your watery eyes hid themselves into the hoodie he was wearing. It smelt like the hospital, you knew he was lying. He didn’t forget, he needed an excuse.
⋆ 💌 ⋆
Gojo took you to his apartment, it was late and most of the things you two could’ve done were already closing. His apartment was on one of the highest floors and the balcony he had gave you two the perfect advantage for stargazing. He set up a comfortable space for the both of you.
The stars weren’t completely visible but the dark clouds was indeed a sight to see. The silence between you and Gojo was very comforting.
“The moon looks beautiful tonight isn’t it, Y/N?”
“Huh? It looks the same as always.”
Gojo laughed, his head was now turned facing you and moments later you turned to face him. You two stared into each others eyes, you both saw sadness and regret. You both craved a happy ending.
Gojo leaned in and placed his soft lips on yours. One thing led to another leading you and him onto his bed. Tonight was the night where you and Gojo became one.
⋆ 💌 ⋆
“I’m glad we spent time together. This will be one of my favorite days for the rest of my life.”
“Stop being corny.”
“Y/N.” He looked at you deeply with his crystal eyes, the moonlight shining on his skin, the warmth of his body pressed up against yours made this night special. Sadly all good things come to an end. “I’m sick.”
“I know but it’s just a little while longer and th-”
“She really is right you know, you really are a stupid Satoru.”
“Utahime it’s not like I can fucking tell her ‘Hey I have pancreatic cancer and I’m dying!’ Do you know how stupid that sounds?”
“Satoru-”
“Fuck I know okay?”
“If you know tell her. Do you honestly think she would be okay if one day you just stopped showing up?”
“There’s no hope for us, you know that Utahime. I refuse to be the reason that she can’t love after I’m gone.”
“You’re gonna be her biggest regret if you don’t love her now.”
“Yeah, I know.” Gojo’s expression on you softened, he cried in your arms and you cried in his, knowing the person before you was soon about to be yet another faint memory.
You finally understood why the weather had been horrible, mother nature felt for you and Satoru. That night the sky cried with you both.
“How much longer do you have?”

Amusement park Date - 1000 ch special!
Hey everyone! This is my celebration for One piece 1000 chapter!
Tumblr media
Monster Trio + Ussop
ONE PIECE UNIVERSE
Scenarios where Character and Reader go on a date to Amusement Park on an island
special Law and Kidd Here (Clickable)
LUFFY
Tumblr media
I shifted again as I tried to sleep. I don’t know why I’m not able to sleep but because of my shifting I woke my dear boyfriend accidently. He murmured, “What happened Y/N? Why aren’t you sleeping?”
“Oh dear, I am sorry for waking you up Luffy. I wasn’t able to sleep so I was shifting. Sorry again”, I apologised to him and he placed his hand on one of my cheek as he said, “Don’t apologise, its ok. Are you hungry? Is your hunger making you not sleep? Trust me I’ve faced that.”
I chucked and said, “Yes love, I know you faced it but, I am not hungry. I am just not able to fall asleep.”
Luffy hummed as he closed his eyes trying to think of something but instead I could see his head getting Red as a side effect. He sighed as he opened his eyes and looked at me and added, “I have never faced any other situation, other than that…”, he said in a defeated tone making me smile at his cuteness. “But! I guess if we do this, you can sleep”, he said as he wrapped his arms around me and got very close. He had his classic beautiful smile while he cuddled me.
“I am sure you can fall asleep like this”, he said and smiled widely making me giggle. He was having the perfect temperature and had the smell of delicious Sanji’s cooking.
“This really helps. Thank you love”, I smiled and pecked his cheek as he giggled.
“Then let’s sleep, we should go out to explore the new island”, he said as he pulled me closer and continued, “And… maybe go… on a date…”, with that Luffy fell asleep. My cheeks turned pink and I smiled at how
“Yes Captain!”, I replied. We cuddled as I thought about how amazing our date would be. With the comfort Luffy was giving in his warm hug, it was all I needed for falling asleep peacefully.
As for the date, we both got on different types of rides mostly the scary ones and didn’t even miss one single food stall. Luffy stopped at every single food stall as he wanted to eat all food items available. I was also keeping company to Luffy as he ate.
Suddenly Luffy stretched his neck and came closer to me. I gulped at the sudden closeness. It was a surprise and my heart started beating faster.
“Y/N… you”, Luffy said as I blinked and continued, “Have food on your face”, with this he leaned in and pecked my cheek dangerously close to my lips, where the food was and said, “We don’t want that to waste right”.
‘Oh god Save me’, I thought as covered my flushed face…
After a while I came across a small competition where people were arm wrestling. As I looked at it, I felt a chill run down my spine with excitement. Luffy was still busy stuffing his mouth with food in a stall few meters away.
“Luffy! Come here”, I call Luffy and he stretched and came to my side in a second.
“Will you participate in it”, I asked Luffy as I pointed at the competition.
“Woah! Seems fun!”, Luffy Exclaimed as he jumped onto the stage. There stood a huge guy who couldn’t be beaten up till now as he faced Luffy. According to now, he should be defeated in order to win the competition.
The jerk smirked as Luffy sat in the opposite side of his. He was underestimating Luffy and I really hated that. I know Luffy wouldn’t lose but I still shouted, “LUFFY! WIN! YOU CAN WIN”, luffy smirked and I succeeded in making sure everyone in the place heard it and even draw attention to the place. Everyone’s eyes were on the match as both contestants sat opposite to each other.
“Osu!”, Luffy said as he positioned his arm, and in one swift move, my Luffy got the opponents arm down with a bonus of crashing the jerks complete body to the hard floor of the stage, even making the floor break.
Seeing the scene in front of me, I jumped up the stage and hugged Luffy as he returned my hug and complained, “It wasn’t that hard… boo”, he pouted like a child and I chuckled looking at his face.
We got the trophy and were enjoying so much but in the end….. Luffy accidentally broke one of the rides and we both ran from that scene with the rest of the crew. Anyhow that was sure one hell of a date and I loved it!
ZORO
Tumblr media
Me and my boyfriend Zoro, go on a date to the amusement park which was pretty famous for the island we stopped on. We also wanted a break from the crew and spend some quality time together.
We both split from the crew and go for some rides. We enjoyed the roller coaster and did window shopping. Zoro won so many games and got prizes. But we purposely avoided the shooting games because we didn’t want to bump in with the crew now.
“Woah! This is amazing Zoro. You won so many things. Im so proud of you.”, I praised him and all he did was to grunt. Well he is happy and I can feel it.
I smiled at him as he bought me a snack. We both were looking at the stalls as we ate it. Then I saw a cute Lama in a claw machine.
“Awww look at that cute Lama. Can you win it Zoro?”, I pleaded my boyfriend as I gave him puppy eyes.
“Huff… you are such a trouble. Now tell me what you want”, he said as he grinned looking at the claw machine. I grinned as I showed him the Lama which I wanted.
Then… Zoro for the first time in being in the amusement park… lost.
After some time
“Babe stop! Its fine if we don’t get it”, I tell my boyfriend as he tries for the 7th time to win the Lama plushie that I liked.
“No way! Ill win that stupid thing for you!”, Zoro grunted as he lost for the 7th time.
“I really appreciate it Zoro but we are spending all of our money on this claw machine. We still need to see all the other stalls”, I tried to convince him but he wasn’t listening.
Zoro inserted the coin in the machine and got the 8th loss. He was emitting violet and black fumes. He wasn’t going to give up that easily… even after the 22nd time of losing. He was barely keeping his swords away from cutting down the machine. I huffed as I look at my man who is really pissed now. I gently place my hand on his shoulder and say, “Babe… think of it all as your experience. Now use all of it in this game. I am sure you’ll win it this time.”
Zoro took a deep breath and closed his eye. He stayed still for couple of seconds and opened his eye as he got back to the machine. He looked sharply at the Lama plushie and took the handle and pushed it back and froth as he aligned it to the Lama.
“I’m going to get the stupid toy that you liked at all costs”, with this he hit the red button which enabled the Grip for the toy.
As everyone says… 23rd time is the charm, Zoro won the plushie at last!! I was too exited so I just jumped and wrapped my arms around his neck. Zoro took the toy and gave it to me.
“Trust me Zoro, this is the best gift ever because it represents all your hard work and passion of yours.”, I said as I kissed his lips. He blushed and huffed as he said, “Of..of course I said I’d win for you. There is no way I would lose to this dumb game.” He said as he happily took my hand and started to walk away from the machine.
We see Sanji coming towards us. “Hey Sanji! Look at this Lama, Zoro won it for me!”, I proudly showed my plushie to him as he smiled back at me.
“That’s so good! Well done Marimo! So you too can be nice to your lover”, Sanji said as he went towards the machine.
“I don’t need to hear it from you, love cook. So you trying to win huh”, Zoro stayed still looking at Sanji.
“I… I do want to get some toys”, Sanji replied as he played the machine and also… got the stuff toy in the… First try. He inserted the second coin and played as he won… the second time. I was watching Sanji awestruck I didn’t realise Zoro let go of my hand. Then the third win and during the fourth time Sanji won two toys at the same time.
“Woah! See two at a time!”, he said as he walked towards us and gave me a toy and said, “I need to give Nami san and Robin chan also… So I’ll go now”, Sanji said.
“Wait Sanji!”, I stopped Sanji and asked, “How… did you win in a row?”
To which he smiled and said, “Ah! About that… there is a hack where we push the button two times, we will definitely get the toy. Well technically I didn’t say I wanted to win, I just wanted get the toy”, with that he left.
“Babe did you hear”, I turned my head to my side and Zoro wasn’t there. Then I heard, “ONI-”, I looked in the direction and it was too late to stop Zoro, as I saw my man give one blow to the machine, “-GIRI”, making it cut into pieces.
“Zoro…”, I managed to say and then the red lights started to blink with a sound coming from the machine.
“DIE YOU MACHINE! DIE!!!”, Zoro yelled at the machine as I took his arm and started to run away with my plushies held tightly in other hand. Zoro held my hand and with the other he held the bag of items he won in the games. We were being chased by many people and it was a mess but after we escaped and reached the ship, we both laughed at the situation.
XOXO
“Here you go”, said Sanji as he crouched down and handed the third plushie to the little raindeer.
“Ahh! Giving me this doesn’t make me happy you asshole”, Said the doctor as he did his happy dance making Sanji smile at him warmly.
SANJI
Tumblr media
“HEY! OVER HERE!”, Sanji waved seeing me as I went towards the amusement park. We agreed to meet here for today’s date. Sanji wore a blue Hawaiian shirt and grey knee length shorts. It was a sunny island and was really warm. Sanji looked so different in this attire from his usual Dress shirt and coat. Not gonna lie he can pull off any type of outfit.
“Y/N! You look so cute!”, he cooed with a wide grin on his face. ‘Agh! I was supposed to compliment him first’, I scolded myself.
“Thankyou… you… you look handsome too”, I managed to let it out in a soft low voice but still he heard it. His eyes widened as his lips parted and his face flushed.
“Thankyou Y/N chan”, he thanked and offered me his hand. I smiled and took his hand as we both headed into the amusement park together. Sanji not once swooned over any other girl from the moment we both held hands.
We both shopped and took some photos together. We both got on slow and romantic rides as it was more romantic. We both played many games and Sanji trying to impress me, as if he hadn’t already done that, won all the games. I mean we were told to leave because he was way too good.
In the way I saw a Horror House. ‘Woah! Did I just get excited?!’, I stop Sanji from walking further and asked, “Sanji, can we go there please”, I pointed towards the Horror house.
Sanji looked at it and smirked as he said, “Yeah why not! Seems fun”. He seemed more excited than I was. Maybe it was because he was also missing the thrill. We walked quickly towards the horror house still my hand in his.
We go into the horror house with excitement. We go in and see some jump scares here and there… not very scary yet… there we go to a room filled with mirrors.
Then suddenly a man in clown costume comes into the room and the mirrors made reflections of him. This took me by surprise and I screamed as I hugged Sanji. He rubbed soothing circles on my back as he hugged me back instantly.
“Don’t get too close! She is scared now because of you”, he started to lecture the clown dressed man as he still hugged me and we left the room. ‘Well I know it’s a place to get scared but… he was so cute when he scolded that person because I was scared. Poor man… just did his job though’, I thought as I still hugged Sanji and explored the house more.
Whenever I got scared he turned his protective mode on and lectured the actors. They were too scared to say anything back and ran away from where they came from. Which never I guess never happened in this horror house before.
We both completed our turn and I was still feeling the adrenaline in my veins. That was actually a very scary horror house I’ve seen. I look at Sanji who was blushing and smiling. He asked, “Are you ok now Y/N?”
“Yeah… it was scary… though I guess you didn’t have much fun”, I said as I hung my head low. He placed his slender fingers on my chin and lifted my head up to face his. He smiled warmly at me and said, “It wasn’t scary to me but, I did love how you held me close to you and how you relied on me when you were scared.”, he said and I blushed. Then I noticed, we were in the same position even now and my blush even grew more. Yet…. I still didn’t want to let him go. I still held him close and I said, “Thankyou… Sanji”, with that he came closer and made our foreheads touch.
“I love you Y/N”, Sanji declared suddenly. His face was so close to mine and I could see the nervousness in his eyes.
“I love you too, you don’t have to be so nervous every time you say it”, I chuckled and he giggle. He pecked my nose and pulled back. He started to sway my hand as he indicated to continue the date. I obliged and we went to another game. ‘What did I even do to deserve him’, I thought as we continued our date.
USSOP
Tumblr media
“Agh!! Ussop! C’mon! lets go. It’s a good day, we are on an island with theme park… I want to go on a date”, I nagged at my boyfriend who was in middle of making a new invention.
“Oh… ok then, lets go!”, Ussop says as he got up.
“That’s my baby”, I praise him as I ruffled his hair and he blushed ‘cause I called him Baby.
We both started to head to the theme park with hands linked. He was blushing the complete time. ‘Could he be anymore cuter?’, I thought as I enjoyed looking at my shy boyfriend.
“Ussop, lets eat something”, I turned to see my boyfriend who was already drooling at the sight of all the food stalls. He is a foodie and eats a lot, just… cant be compared to Luffy but he has potential.
“YES PLEASE!”, he said as he went to the stalls to eat. I chuckled when he just shoved a burger down his throat, but my smile was replaced by worry when he choked on it.
“BAKA USSOP! DON’T WORRY ME LIKE THAT!”, I scold him as he chugged down the water I handed him.
“….Sorry Y/N”, he apologises with puppy dog eyes of his which are hard to stay mad at. I huff and accept his apology. I took his hand in mine and dragged him to a scary ride.
“Wait.. Y/N…”, he said as I looked at him and see him placing his free hand on his chest and continued, “I think I’m getting the disease “Shouldn’t get on that ride” help me.” He even fake coughed and swayed back and forth to make it more dramatic. “Like I’d believe that… but keep up the acting. Good job”, I say as he dejectedly follows me while I drag him to the ride.
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! SAVE MEEEEEE!!!!! I’M GONNA DIEEEEEEEEE!!!!!”, Ussop Yelled the complete ride while I yelled, “YAHOOOOOOO!!!!!! THISSSS IS CRAZYYYYYY!! I LOVE ITTTT!!!”
We both got down the ride as I beamed with happiness and said, “It was so much fun!”
I got no response from my boyfriend so I turned to look at him. He had this dark aura surrounding him. He even was mumbling something which wasn’t… a language I know. It even felt like his soul was leaving his body.
“Ussop… you okay dude?”, I ask him as I crouch down and hug him.
“I am surprised I’m even alive”, he said and returned my hug. He was acting so cute by snuggling against my neck, making me chuckle.
“No way that could kill you”, I place one hand under his arm and other on his waist and pull him up. He looks at me with his glossy eyes making my heart skip a beat.
“Ok ok ok… no more scary rides. I got it. So… lets go and play some games”, I suggest for which he happily nods.
We both go to the game stalls and I saw a shooting game. I stop in my tracks making Ussop to bump into me because he was walking behind me.
“Ouch! What happened Y/N? Why did you stop?”, he asked as I looks at the game I pointed. We both smirked as we looked at each other and headed towards it. Ussop takes a gun and starts to shoot perfectly and wins continuous prizes making me happy.
Suddenly I get a thought of getting a prize for him. So I place my hand on the gun and give coins to the person who was in in charge and take position. I fire the gun but it misses and again and again…. It was making my heart crush but I still wanted to win.
Looking at my sad face Ussop couldn’t help but step in. He gracefully placed his arms on the gun and pointed it to the target. We were in a position where he was basically back hugging me. It’s always me initiating hugs and kisses. So… this made me blush so hard. I was basically a tomato in Ussop’s arms. He pulls the trigger and shoots the target with ease, making me win for the first time.
I smile widely as I notice it. It was his doing but… it made me so happy.
“Y/N Look! You shot the target”, he says as he looks at my face. He notices how red my face was and how close we both were. This makes him blush hard. He slowly lets go of me. The man in charge of the game comes towards us and hands me the prize. He witnessed the moment and was also blushing.
I took the prize and handed it to my boyfriend but I hung my head low. I was too embarrassed to face him while I give it. He takes it with his shaky hands indicating he was also very nervous. I build up my courage, take his hand and start to walk with him to another game.
Ussop was very quiet but then he suddenly says, “I love you Y/N”, making me stop in my tracks. My heart beat increased. I turned around, looked at him and replied, “I love you too Ussop”.
We both smiled at each other and continued walking side by side with our hands linked. ‘Definitely the best date till now’, I thought as we walked back to the ship with lots of toys and prizes.

Welcome to the Heart Pirates, Nami-ya chapter 19: Lying Hearts
“How can anyone stand to live in a city like this?” Nami grumbled as the light glinted off of yet another painfully white building. True, the setting sun had lessened the glare slightly, but after an entire afternoon of it, she was developing quite the headache, even with the sunglasses.
Law shrugged and continued walking at a leisurely pace, still unaffected. “I’m sure if you’re born somewhere like this it’s easier, but people can learn to tolerate almost anything given enough time, I suppose.”
“Do you think you’d be able to learn to tolerate bread?”
“I said almost. I’d sooner die of starvation.”
She shook her head with a chuckle but kept pace, following his lead. Instead of heading straight back to the submarine, Law had insisted on a few detours through Atifakuto—partially in case anyone had grown suspicious and decided to follow them, but also to scope out potential escape routes under the guise of sightseeing. Nami, for her part, had been exceedingly helpful in this, mapping out in her head which stairways lead where and pointing out various places to hide. If Law found her compliance suspicious, he didn’t say anything; it was in their best interest to work together, especially with some potentially valuable goods on the line, so her behavior was easily rationalized.
For her, however, there was more than artifacts or even belli at stake. This heist had to go well. She needed Law to trust her enough to open up about why he was so obsessed with Amber Lead. Perhaps if he could do that, she wouldn’t even have to sneak into his quarters to take a look at the ledgers. She could just ask and he’d let her in like a rational human being.
Of course, in order for either of their plans to succeed they needed to know where the vase was. Luckily, the rest of the Hearts hadn’t been sitting idle on the submarine. They’d been investigating every possible gallery, art collector, museum, and auction house their prize could possibly be at. The second they had a lead, they’d call on the mini Den Den Mushi.
Until then, though, Law and Nami were forced to meander about the city, planning and killing time.
“So, while we wait for some intel, what else are you going to buy me?” she asked as they wandered the fourth level. They’d passed quite a few shops, and while most had stocked dull business suits similar to the last store, Nami felt her bags were tragically light. They were in a beautiful-if-blinding city, and she was walking away with only one outfit? What a travesty.
Snorting dismissively, Law glanced down at her with a clear look of are you kidding me? on his face. “Nothing. I told you I was only getting you one outfit. I’m your captain, not your sugar daddy.”
“You know, for a man who wants this little job to go well, you’re not putting in nearly the effort you should,” she quipped, a sly smile on her lips, eyelashes fluttering prettily. “I’m supposed to look professional and put together if I’m gonna pull off being your lovely assistant. That means I need matching shoes and accessories. Maybe a cute leather purse or briefcase to really sell it.”
“If you want those so badly then buy them yourself. Or,” he smirked, halting his pace to turn around and catch her chin between his fingers, tilting her head up towards him as he stepped in close enough so she could feel his body heat, “you earn them by doing certain favors for daddy.”
Her cheeks only pinkened a little at his innuendos while she stuck out her tongue and shoved him away. Last night’s dream wasn’t quite as close to the forefront of her mind anymore, but that didn’t mean his smirk didn’t do things to her she’d rather ignore. “Pass. You should know by now that it takes more than clothes for me to play nice.”
“Mmm, I do. That’s what makes it so much fun,” he purred, gold eyes glinting in wicked amusement. One gloved hand was shoved into his pocket while his free arm slung itself casually over her shoulder as he continued stalking along the fastidiously clean road. “But since you’re currently insisting on being a strong, independent woman who doesn’t need a man to provide for her, you can instead borrow some shoes from Ikkaku, and she might still have a pair of glasses or something from the time she pretended to be a receptionist at a Naval base.”
Brown eyes widened at his statement. Not because he was suggesting that she borrow clothes or anything, but the bombshell he’d just casually dropped in light of her recent discovery.
“Was this for one of your plans?” she asked, shoulders stiffening.
He shrugged like it was no big deal, though he did give her a curious glance at the way she tensed beneath him. “Yeah. We needed someone on the inside, and they’d put out an advertisement for an attractive female in her early twenties. It’s not like Uni or Penguin could do it.”
“But…holy shit, Law, are you serious?” she hissed, dragging him over to an unoccupied part of the street behind a solitary gated tree so she could scold him in private. There weren’t too many people about, but the last thing they need was to get unwanted attention because they’d caused a scene, even if Law totally deserved to get chewed out at the top of her lungs for being such an asshole. “Ikkaku has Marine brothers who want her dead and you sent her into the lion’s den? What the fuck?!”
Caught off-guard by her anger, Law’s eyebrows shot up briefly before furrowing. “She told you about them?”
Damn. In her shock and anger on her friend’s behalf, she’d forgotten that this was a subject she wasn’t technically supposed to know. But instead of admitting guilt, she doubled down and threw on her best poker face.
“Yeah. She told me,” she lied easily. Too easily. It came as naturally as it had back in the days she’d been working under Arlong, getting close to pirates by lying through her teeth and then robbing them blind. How many crews and captains had she deceived before Luffy? Nami had honestly lost count, but once she’d joined up with the Straw Hats, lying to a supposed ally hadn’t been quite as instinctual.
But this isn’t Luffy, and Law’s keeping way more secrets than I am, she rationalized. It’s just a little white lie anyway. He’d be way more pissed at Shachi and Penguin for telling me. I’m looking after those guys.
Law’s expression hardened, and for a moment she wondered if he’d seen through her bluff. She didn’t think she’d gotten too rusty in the lying department, but Law was smart and distrusting in general, so she couldn’t quite tell. Trepidation hung heavy in the air as she waited for him to speak, mind going a mile a minute coming up with new lies and explanations to appease him. Worse came to worst, she could throw the guys under the bus, even if she didn’t really want to, but they were his best friends, so Law would doubtlessly be more forgiving towards them, right?
Thankfully, it seemed his anger came from a completely different place, as he snarled quietly through clenched teeth, “Nami-ya, I am, as you have pointed out rather frequently in the past, a control freak. Do you really think I would devise a plan that required sending my top mechanic into a Marine base if there was even a chance she could be recognized? Especially by her utter shit of a brother?”
She flinched at the vitriol in his voice. It seemed she’d touched a nerve, and unless she wanted to lose all the progress she’d worked for, she knew it was best to back down. “Sorry. You’re right.”
“I’ll accept your apology if you tell me what prompted her to tell you,” he stated, crossing his arms. “It’s not information she makes widely known, even to those who are permanent members of my crew.”
Well. At least this was easy enough to justify, and she’d be doing both Law and Ikkaku a favor, right? Sure, the guys would obviously tell him later, but being the first to warn him might earn her a few more crumbs of trust. “There was an article in the paper about Marine reinforcements coming to the Grand Line. Ushi was interviewed. He seemed pretty intent on taking down the Heart Pirates.”
Law froze, his frown deepening into a dark sneer. The tic in his jaw and the way his fists clenched reminded her of his reaction to Ikkaku having been attacked on Grimm. “That fucker will stay away from Ikkaku if he’s got any brains in him.”
“You’re pretty protective of her,” she said. Sure, he’d perhaps phrased his defense in a way that implied his priority was the plan, it was clear from the hiss in his voice that Ikkaku’s safety had been genuinely considered.
The brim of his hat hid his eyes as he stated, “I’m protective of all my crew. She’s just…it’s hard to find submarine engineers, let alone ones as skilled as her. Ikkaku’s hard to replace.”
Well that stinks to high heaven of bullshit, she thought. Sure, the Surgeon of Death had a rightly-earned cruel reputation, but he’d shown time and again his crew meant a lot to him. Stepping in close, she used her finger to lift his hat enough to see his expression unobstructed. “Is that why you let her sass you? Because if she walked you’d be dead in the water?”
The gold orbs glared down at her, though the held no heat. “Everyone on the crew is a vital component. Like gears in a well-oiled machine. You’ve gotta take care of them to make sure they don’t break.”
When Nami merely raised a disbelieving eyebrow, he sighed, body deflating slightly. “Look, Nami-ya, everyone on my crew, we’ve all got shit in our pasts. Some have overcome it. Some still carry the scars. Ikkaku…hers is one of the few that’s actively still trying to get her. So yeah, maybe I’m a bit more protective, but it’s for a damn good reason.”
Ok, now that was a fair point. “I’m surprised you haven’t just killed him.”
“Oh, I want to,” he snarled. “No brother should try to hurt their siblings. They’re supposed to look after them. The only reason Ushi-ya still draws breath is because Ikkaku begged me to spare his pathetic life.”
It suddenly dawned on Nami that, despite his criticizing Luffy for not being more bloodthirsty, Law was…surprisingly merciful in his own ways, too. He didn’t murder Ikkaku’s brother, despite having clear reason to, just because she asked. He rescued Jean Bart from a life of slavery despite not knowing him. And while she didn’t fully understand the Ope Ope no Mi’s powers, she wondered if his cuts didn’t draw blood because he didn’t want them to?
She wasn’t sure if he had a complexity addiction or if he genuinely wanted to minimize bloodshed, but once again another side of the incredibly fascinating man had been revealed.
Taking a deep breath to calm his anger, he gave Nami a sadistic smile. “Doesn’t mean I let him off the hook with a sternly-worded warning, though. Wanna know what I did to him the last time we met?”
Nami turned a bit green as she remembered Jinzo’s still-beating heart in his hands. Complex and caring towards his crew or not, he was still a twisted bastard. “Fuck no!”
Briefly he pouted at not getting to regale her with the gory details before shrugging. “Pity. It was quite the eventful evening. In fact, it was also the night of mine and Drake-ya’s first kiss.”
“How the hell are those two things connected?!”
“Well, I had to distract him somehow. He was guarding my poor mechanic like a dragon would a virtuous princess.”
Before she could demand more details, or even snort at the idea of Ikkaku being virtuous, the sound of the mini Den Den Mushi reached their ears, interrupting the conversation.
Looking around to make sure there weren’t any eavesdroppers, Law pulled out the little snail phone and clicked down on the top. “Guessing you’ve got something for me?”
“I do,” the snail answered, and Nami recognized the faint accent that indicated they were speaking to Cousteau. “Only one place that specializes in North Blue history. Jubilee & Atlas Antiques. It’s an auction house and gallery on the fifth level, a block away from the Elevate Deliverer Restoration Church.”
“Well that’s a needlessly long name,” he quipped, rolling his eyes. Mentally, Nami had to agree, though it also sounded vaguely familiar. “At least that makes it easier to find. Anything else I should know? Other landmarks, nearby guard stations, that sort of thing?”
There was a moment of hesitation before Cousteau replied, “No station, though there would probably be at least a few guards wandering around at night. It’s, uh, right by a fountain. Blessings from the White City.”
Nami’s eyes widened a little. Oh. Now she remembered. That had been the church with the huge stained-glass windows. The one in her book, by the tribute to Flevance.
“…I see.”
The little snail chewed its lip, clearly concerned. “Captain, if you want, I can do all the surveillance—”
“It’s fine,” he cut in, tone sharp before smoothing out, “I saw it earlier. In fact, I’m glad it’s so close. Nami-ya and I will check out the gallery. We’re nearby and I’d rather see it with my own eyes to get the lay of the land. Unless anyone else has a better lead, you and the others can head back to the ship.”
“Understood, sir. Anything else you need?” he asked, sounding relieved.
“Just tell Clione I might have a job for him later on, so don’t make any evening plans.”
“Aye-aye, Captain.”
The call ended, and Nami peered up at Law, expecting signs of the same darkness that had crossed his face when they’d visited the fountain earlier. Instead, his face was totally blank, staring down at the tiny snail, expressionless.
Somehow, that was far, far more unnerving.
“Law?” she asked, touching his arm hesitantly.
As if awoken from a trance he shook his head before smirking down at her. “Well, hope you don’t mind one last detour before heading back to the ship? I know it’s more stairs but look on the bright side; at this rate, the definition of your calf muscles will be a thing of beauty.”
He didn’t wait for her to respond, turning on his heels and heading towards the direction of the stairs to the next level. Frowning, she began to doubt whether or not this was all a good idea. She didn’t know exactly what his deal was, but she really felt like he was too close to this. But she had the feeling trying to talk him out of it would be an exercise in futility, and would set her back far more than any lie she might spin.
Oh well, she sighed internally, jogging to catch up, so long as he doesn’t do anything stupid. He’s sensible enough to keep a cool head, no matter what his problem is. It’ll be fine.
While it wasn’t far, it took longer than either of them would have expected to actually find Jubilee & Atlas Antiques. Mainly because it was a surprisingly nondescript building compared to the opulent churches and museums nearby. Honestly, based on the exterior, one could easily have passed it by. Like everything else the building was pristinely white, the windows boasting small arches over them and flower boxes containing white impatiens. Really, the most impressive thing about it was the marble plaque out front boasting the company’s name in gold leaf.
But the two pirates didn’t really care about the appearance; it was what was inside that counted. That, and the information board out front, which stated in bold, black letters that there would be a showing and auction of North Blue artworks at 8pm that evening.
“Why don’t you just Scan the place, grab the vase, and walk away? Seems like that would be easy compared to putting on this charade?” Nami asked, eyeing the building. It was hardly Harpin’s mansion; it would take almost no effort for Law to use his powers to steal every item of value inside it, replacing artifacts, paintings, and money with pebbles and potted plants with a mere flick of his fingers, then teleporting them away to safety.
Really, if he weren’t such an ass, Trafalgar Law would be a thief’s dream partner.
Of course, he was an ass, so he gave her a look that implied he considered her question to be phenomenally stupid. “Because there’s no guarantee that the vase is even in there—for all I know it’s being kept in a secondary location until the actual event for security or health reasons. It is a relic from a city that suffered a notorious death toll both before and after the World Government had quarantined it,” he explained lowly. “On top of that, my Room would draw too much attention, so if it’s not in there, we’ll have blown our whole cover and probably the operation.”
Though disappointed that they couldn’t just whisk it away with his powers, she conceded that he had a point. Versatile and useful as they were, the Ope Ope no Mi’s abilities did have their drawbacks. Actually infiltrating the auction house was a safer move.
Yet for a moment, she saw Law glare at the building, as if he were equally frustrated that they couldn’t just grab their prize and go. Perhaps even a great mastermind like him sometimes wished to take the direct path. “At least we can be sure it’ll be presented at this auction,” he reassured, almost as much to himself as her as his hand rested on Nami’s lower back while he escorted her away. “Makes it easier to come up with a plan and contingencies when I actually know the target. My crew did good.”
She twirled a strand of hair around her finger in thought. She supposed he was right, and the pride in his voice when he mentioned the Hearts’ contribution…well, she knew better than to argue with that. Seemed the lesson he learned on the last island was sticking. “Still too bad we don’t have blueprints like Harpin’s house, though.”
“It can’t be helped. That was a job I’d been planning for months. This is more…spontaneous. Why? Scared and looking to back out?” he asked, glancing down at her with a challenging grin.
Nami scoffed. She was a thief that specialized in robbing pirates. Sure, she was a scaredy-cat, but when treasure of some kind was at stake, there were few risks she wouldn’t take. “Not a chance. Just pointing out that we’re going in more blind than last time.”
“Maybe, but at least our prize will be out in the open and not in the home of a former Marine with tentacles. Hell, we might even get it legally.”
“Law,” she started, brow furrowing. She wasn’t scared, but she did have a reasonable concern, especially with how intent he seemed on this one item. “What are we going to do if we don’t win the vase?”
The pair stopped by the Flevance fountain, Law taking a long moment to stare solemnly at the beautiful white angels. Without a word he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small coin, pressing it to his lips before flipping it into the water.
When he turned back to her, his gold eyes were as hard as the statues’ and twice as cold.
“Simple; we take it from whoever did.”
XXX
Hidden in a small cove on an unpopulated section of Atifakuto’s coast, the sight of the Polar Tang’s sunny yellow hull was a welcome relief after a whole day of the city’s stark white walls. Law seemed to agree as his tense posture relaxed into a comfortable slouch, even giving a few of the guys a small grin when they called out to them. To Nami, of course, the submarine was still far from the Sunny and thus would never be home, but she couldn’t help but smile at Law’s reaction. The Dark Doctor really did have some softness deep down.
Of course, that didn’t last long, as the moment they were within the safety of the cargo bay he was once more all business. “Dinner is in an hour. Rest up, brush up on your notes, do whatever you need to prepare for the auction tonight; I’ve got a few more dominoes to put in place,” Law stated. He’d been silent for most of the walk back, though Nami attributed that to him mentally filing through all the information they now had and formulating his plan. Much as she missed and loved Luffy, having a captain who didn’t just go rushing in like an idiot was a nice change of pace.
That didn’t mean she appreciated his tone, though. “Say please,” she quipped, hip jutting out. She might have decided to be more compliant for the sake of gaining his trust, but that didn’t mean she was going to let him boss her around.
Besides, if she were too accommodating, he’d probably grow suspicious and then she’d be right back at square one.
He scowled but apparently decided it would be a waste of time to argue. They were on a tight schedule, after all, so her attitude would have to be tolerated. For now. “Please,” he grumbled before marching off, beckoning Clione to follow him. The biologist glanced between the two, bewildered, but smartly said nothing before chasing after his captain.
Flashing a self-satisfied grin at Law’s retreating back, Nami practically skipped to her quarters. Even though they weren’t as prepared as she’d like, so far, things were going well. Perhaps they couldn’t just use Law’s powers to swipe the vase, but by obtaining it through legal means, they wouldn’t have the authorities after them, which would be nice. Besides, it wasn’t her money that would be spent at the auction.
Her research of the North Blue had taught her a few things, including just how valuable things from Flevance were. After all, things made from the white ore had been in high-demand during the city’s heyday; now that it was in ruins, any remaining artifacts would surely triple in price. And, admittedly, if that fountain had been anything to go by, the vase could very well be extremely beautiful. Something any art collector or historian might want for themselves.
Once more, she wondered why the hell Law wanted it. He collected coins, not art, so she doubted it would be something he wanted just for the heck of it. What was his obsession with Flevance—
That train of thought was derailed when Nami walked into her room. She blinked then rubbed her eyes, certain her vision was still messed up from the sun, because Ikkaku was still sitting at her desk, working on some little device, practically in the same position as that morning. Really, the only difference was the lack of towel around her head, though her curly hair was a tangled bird’s nest.
“Have you even moved today?” Nami exclaimed loudly, flabbergasted.
The mechanic jumped a few inches out of her chair, a pen cartwheeling through the air before falling back onto the surface of the desk with a clatter. Apparently since she’d had the room to herself, she hadn’t felt the need to put the earplugs back in, leaving her vulnerable to Nami’s loud voice. “Damn, girl, you scared me,” Ikkaku said with a breathy laugh. She glanced around, noticing the time on the clock and the fact that her hair had dried completely. “Guess I was in the zone.”
“You haven’t been working all day, have you?” Nami asked, plopping her shopping bag on her bed. “At least tell me you had lunch.”
“Sounding an awful lot like Law there,” she teased, pushing away from her desk to stretch. There was an audible pop from her back, and her dark eyes closed in relief. “Like me, too. The boys and I are always bugging a certain workaholic captain to eat something and not subsist solely on coffee and aspirin. But to answer your question, yes, I did have lunch.” She pointed at an empty plate that had been shoved into the far corner of the desk, a few grains of rice stuck to the surface. “Bepo brought me some onigiri.”
“Good. If you didn’t, I’d be dragging you into the galley and force-feeding you a sandwich, then charging you a cooking and inconvenience fee.”
Snorting, Ikkaku cracked her knuckles and rolled her shoulders, further releasing the tension sitting hunched over in one spot for hours had built up. “Dinner’s soon enough; even if I hadn’t eaten, I could have waited. And good luck making a sandwich with no bread on board.” Despite her dismissal tone, though, she gave a wry grin. “But thanks for caring, I guess, even if it does come with a price tag.”
“What are friends for?” Nami shrugged with a smile that was a little forced. It was such an alien feeling, this sudden awkwardness. Since first arriving on the Tang, she and Ikkaku had gotten on like a house on fire. It was almost inevitable, being the two women on the ship surrounded by men dealing with that insanity together. Hell, even if that hadn’t been the case, Ikkaku had practically sacrificed herself for her back at the club on Grimm. A companion like that was more than she’d even dared to dream of before she’d met Luffy.
Was it really right for Nami to act like she didn’t know about her brother? Should she just tell her that the guys told her about Ushi? Really, what was the point of keeping it a secret? It wasn’t that Nami thought she’d slip up and spill the beans—lying was her specialty, after all—but Ikkaku wasn’t some mark or stranger. She was her friend.
Hell, even if they were on opposite crews, she’d even dare to call her nakama.
The issue resolved itself, however, when the other woman’s expression turned a little melancholy. Ikkaku sighed as she rested her cheek on her fist, her other hand idly playing with the pen. “Heh. Funny, I used to ask myself that question a lot when I was younger. I didn’t really have friends back on my home island. I lived with my Gramps in a lighthouse, so besides the occasional trip to town, it was a pretty isolated life.”
“What about your brothers?” Nami asked, masking her interest by taking her purchases out of the bag so they wouldn’t wrinkle before the auction. A swell of relief surged through her. If Ikkaku talked about Ushi herself, the whole charade of pretending not to know about him wouldn’t even be necessary! She just had to carefully press for the right crumbs of information, maybe even offer up a couple tidbits about her own life in exchange. No big deal. Tit for tat, right? “Nojiko was my best friend growing up. Hell, probably my only friend until Luffy came along.”
A dark look crossed Ikkaku’s face. “Yeah, well, Nojiko on her worst day was probably a way better sibling than all of them combined.”
“I don’t think you’ve talked about them much. I basically just know that they exist and said you wouldn’t really make it as an engineer because you’re a girl.”
A long sigh escaped her lips. “That’s…the nice version. Didn’t want to unload my shitty childhood on you, especially since yours sounded worse. I mean, my island was never taken over by pirates, and I didn’t work for the guy who murdered my mom.”
Well, that was certainly true, but then again, people with healthy, normal childhoods seldom became pirates. Or at least, those that did rarely lasted long on such cutthroat seas. Nami should have realized there was more to the mechanic’s past than some run-of-the-mill misogyny. “Maybe, but I don’t mind. We’ve all gone through some rough shit, right? We wouldn’t be in this line of work otherwise.”
“True. I just…I guess I just like to pretend he doesn’t exist most of the time.”
“He?” she asked as if she didn’t already know.
Ikkaku’s calloused hand dropped the pen to instead clench into a tight fist, and there was a haunted look in her dark eyes as she stared off into space. “Ushi. He’s the oldest. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t afraid of him. Spent our childhood making our other brothers use me as a punching bag. When he wasn’t doing that, he gave me almost hourly reminders that I was a burden on the family, that no one really loved me, that I’d never amount to anything.” There was a hitch in her breath and a pause, and Nami noticed her close her eyes tightly for a moment. As if she were fighting back tears. It was a look she’d never expected to see on the tough, vibrant woman’s face. “Then, when I was seven, he tried to kill me.”
“What?!” Nami exclaimed, dropping her blazer to the floor in shock.
“Yeah. Joras had a huge fucking forest, and he led me into it to look for mushrooms or some shit. Can’t remember. Next thing I know, he’s shoved me into a pit, and by the time I’d climbed out, he was long gone and it was night. I think…I think it was supposed to be my grave, ‘cause it was really fucking deep. Or at least it seemed that way. Maybe I’m misremembering.”
Somehow, Nami doubted that. Sure, memories could get warped with age and fear, but some details remained solid for the rest of a person’s life. “But, you got out, right? And I’m sure your parents must have been worried sick!” She could almost picture it. A young Ikkaku, sticks and leaves caught in her messy curls, knees and elbows scraped, face covered in dirt and tears, frightened but once more able to smile when she was finally found, her mother and father scooping her into their arms, scolding her for worrying them but just so relieved she was safe…
At least, that’s what Bellemere or Mister Genzo would have done if Nami had gone missing.
From the bitter laugh that escaped her throat, Ikkaku hadn’t been so fortunate. “I spent three days wandering around those fucking woods, scared and cold and wondering if I was gonna die out there. My parents didn’t even notice I was gone.” After a long moment of silence, her fist unclenched and some of the tension eased out of her shoulders. “Gramps found me, though. When I didn’t come home after two days and a storm rolled in, my brothers Nausagi and Fukuro ran two miles to the lighthouse to tell him what Ushi had done. Maybe they realized he’d gone too far. Or they were scared I’d come back as a vengeful zombie. Either way, Gramps rescued me and demanded custody. Mama and Pops were glad to hand me over. One less mouth to feed, and I wouldn’t be causing their Future Marine Hero any more trouble.”
“That’s…that’s horrible.” And yet Nami could tell she was getting the abridged version of the story. “Tell me your grandfather was a better guardian.”
Despite the childhood trauma she’d just confessed to, Ikkaku merely shrugged, a small grin tugging at the corner of her lips. “Yeah. He was. Gramps was crazy, but he loved me and taught me how to fight. Told me to never lose my smile, ‘cause that’s my best protection against a world that’ll try to break me.”
“Bellemere said something similar to me and Nojiko. ‘Whatever happens, never lose your ability to laugh. If you can survive, happy times, lots of ‘em, will come your way’.”
“Smart lady.” She tried to casually run her fingers through her hair, only to find them caught in the tangled knots. She let out a light chuckle at her predicament and added, “I think she and Gramps would have gotten along pretty well. Well, assuming she liked salty former smugglers who had the gumption to threaten Law with a shot gun. Not that he didn’t deserve it a little.”
Nami had to smile at that, and she could only imagine what he’d said that had nearly gotten him shot. It was definitely something snarky, a shit-eating grin on his face while he provoked a protective grandfather just because he could.
Noticing Ikkaku’s hair situation, she abandoned her suit to instead pick up a wide-toothed comb. “Well, I’m not sure about Bellmere, but I’d certainly love to meet him.”
“Of course you would.” Leaning back in the chair, she allowed Nami to carefully put her thick curls to rights. “How was shopping? Boss show you the blinding sights of the city?”
“It was…enlightening,” she said cautiously. There was still so much to sort out, and every time she thought she had an answer to one of her questions, four more popped up in its place.
Grabbing the pen she’d been playing with earlier, Ikkaku handed it to her over her shoulder. “Here; I made you something, since I doubt you’ll be able to bring your Clima-Tact with you. Kinda why I was so focused—I wanted it to be ready by tonight.”
Curious, Nami inspected the item. It was a plain black ballpoint pen maybe a bit longer than her hand. There was an almost unnoticeable jolly roger engraved into the middle, and she ran her thumb over it idly. “You spent the whole afternoon making me a pen? I could have just as easily brought my stylus.”
“Oh, but a stylus is only good for writing. This is so much more useful. ‘The pen is mightier than the sword’, right? Click the top.”
She did so, and instead of an ink-filled nub, a small syringe, similar to an epi-pen, popped out. Her eyes widened in realization as Ikkaku explained, “Inside’s a powerful tranquilizer. Should knock any fool out in minutes if injected into the bloodstream. Takes longer if it’s ingested. It’s non-lethal to humans, so it should be safe to use on anyone you’re looking to knock out. Assuming they aren’t really Fishmen in disguise.”
“Why? Does it react differently for them?”
She grimaced. “Yeah. Severe allergic reaction. Anaphylactic shock typically. So, unless you want that on your conscience, humans only.”
Tucking the pen away for later, Nami nodded in understanding and went back to combing her hair. “Gotcha. Doubt it’ll be a problem, though. Jean Bart said this place is pretty humans-only.”
“Doesn’t mean it’s impossible for someone to have that kind of bloodline. If it’s diluted through a few generations, a lot of the time you can hide it and pass for human.”
“Hmmm, hadn’t thought of that.”
There was a moment where Nami could tell she was mulling something over. Even faced away from her, Ikkaku wasn’t hard to read, and it was only a matter of time before she voiced whatever question was on her mind.
While she waited, the ginger took the time to appreciate the texture of Ikkaku’s hair, combing out each curl individually so it wouldn’t frizz. The thick, black locks were coarser than her own, yet surprisingly soft despite her hard life at sea. Hair maintenance was extremely difficult living on the ocean, the salt and fluctuating weather of the Grand Line wreaking havoc on Nami’s much finer strands. And while Ikkaku was far more feminine than one would expect upon first meeting her, in the time they’d roomed together, she didn’t seem to put much more extensive care into her shiny locks than some leave-in conditioner.
Guess she’s just got some good genetics, Nami thought appreciatively. Either that or she’s hiding some amazing shampoo formula, and damn if she is I’ll never forgive her!
When Ikkaku at last broke her silence, the hesitation in her voice was palpable. “Hey, it was a Fishman who held you prisoner all those years, right? You ever…blame all Fishmen for what he did?”
It was an unexpected question, but a fair one, Nami supposed. Arlong had committed a crime so heinous she knew she’d never forgive him, and she knew there were plenty of people, especially ones who spent years abused by such a monster, who would project that hatred onto an entire race. But why even ask?
“I…not really. I mean, I can’t say I never lumped them all together in my head, since Arlong and his crew were my only baseline for Fishmen for a long time.” She bit her lip, thinking. “But that was when I was a kid. My view of things was a lot more black-and-white, mostly because I was bitter at my situation. As I got older, and the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it was stupid to think all Fishmen were like him. He was the one who hurt me, so he’s the only one who should get my hate.”
“So, you don’t hate them all?”
She shook her head. “Nah. Hell, I was even able to forgive a member of his crew. I’m sure you heard about how Luffy punched a Celestial Dragon?”
Ikkaku craned her neck up to look at her, dark eyes widening in shocked understanding. “Yeah? You saying the Fishman he defended—”
“One of Arlong’s crew. Hatchi. Like all of them, he hurt me too, but it was on his captain’s orders, and he clearly regretted it.” Well, it had been a bit more complex than that. Hell, when they’d first encountered him again, she’d nearly gone back on her promise to Camie to rescue him. Even if he hadn’t abused her like the others, he’d still been complacent in it. Still destroyed villagers homes, held her hostage, attacked the Navy ships that tried to come to the rescue. He hadn’t been blameless in the least. She would have had every right to demand that he be left to be killed or enslaved. That it was karma come to bite him in the ass.
Yet what had swayed her, apart from Camie’s determination to save him, was her own friends’ reactions to seeing him again. Those who knew her past had immediately been ready to turn the ship around and leave Hatchi to his fate. Of course she’d expected Sanji to be her knight in shining armor and want nothing to do with someone who had abused a lady, even by proxy. Zoro and Usopp had been a bit more surprising, though perhaps it shouldn’t have been. They knew what she’d been put through. Had fought and bled for her. Despite their sometimes heated disagreements, Nami knew she could count on them to always have her back.
The one who shocked her the most was Luffy. He might have flip-flopped between reason and his stomach, but the fact was, her loving, forgiving captain had actually held a grudge on her behalf. Hatchi and Arlong hadn’t done anything to him personally, but his nakama had suffered, and that wasn’t something he’d easily set aside. That genuine show of solidarity and loyalty to her had melted what ice had still been around her heart, which allowed her to truly forgive the octopus Fishman.
Yes, Hatchi had hurt her, but her hatred was solely reserved for Arlong, not his underlings who genuinely felt remorse.
“I’m not a saint or anything but hating Hatchi…it seemed pointless. He wasn’t the one who killed my mother. And blaming all Fishmen for the actions of one seemed pretty shitty. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t kill Arlong if I had the chance, though.”
Nami could practically feel the tension drain from Ikkaku’s shoulders, and she couldn’t hide her smile before she looked away. “That’s good to know. That asshole deserves it, from what you’ve told me. He and my brother should meet, then get sacrificed to some kind of horrible sea monster. Plenty of hungry Sea Kings out there to feed.”
“Couldn’t happen to a nicer pair of guys,” Nami giggled as she ran the comb through the last strand of hair. “Though, that might be cruel to the Sea King. Poor thing deserves a better meal than shit like them.”
“True. We’ll just have to think of something else then. We can ask Law; he’s always got great suggestions.”
A shudder ran down her spine, though she had to admit, it wasn’t as horrified as she’d like. She justified it with the fact that Arlong was scum who deserved whatever painful death the likes of Law might propose. So did Ushi, from the sounds of things. Though, Law had said Ikkaku had begged him not to kill her brother. Why? Did she still care about Ushi due to their familial ties? Or was there something else?
Maybe she just doesn’t want her brother’s death on her conscience, Nami thought, putting the comb away and proceeding to raid the closet for shoes. I just hope that doesn’t come back to bite her someday.
XXX
Dinner on the Tang was certainly livelier and noisier than breakfast. Mainly because the crew didn’t have to walk on eggshells while waiting for Law to get his caffeine hit. Most of the time about a dozen different conversations could be heard, utensils clattered against plates, insults were tossed about, and laughter filled the air. But at the moment, the whole galley was silent save for Nami, who was telling the Heart Pirates—save for a few who’d been sent out on last-minute errands—all about her crew’s wild adventure on Skypiea.
“…so, after Luffy beat the crap out of him, Enel flew off to the moon in his gold airship, and we escaped the island with the help of an octopus balloon, our ship loaded with treasure!”
There was a pregnant pause as the Hearts stared at her in a mix of awe and disbelief. She’d had their undivided attention ever since Law announced that the Straw Hats had found Noland’s lost city of gold, all but demanding she tell the tale and not skimp on the details.
Naturally, those details made the story even more bizarre, practically unbelievable, but she gave them what they asked for, so they couldn’t complain. Even Law’s jaw had dropped once or twice in incredulity. Mostly at the part where Luffy’d been eaten by a giant snake and thus been hidden from Enel’s senses.
Finally, a few of the crew managed to find their voices.
“An orangutan nearly wrecked your ship with singing?” Shachi asked, face utterly baffled.
Penguin grabbed his hat and smacked him over the head with it. “That’s what you’re stuck on? That’s from way back in the beginning of the story!”
The ginger punched him in the shoulder in retaliation, which quickly devolved into a childish slap fight. “Well it’s weird, ok?”
“Weirder than Straw Hat punching Kami or the knock-up stream business or the ship that flew to the moon?”
“Yeah! You ever met an orangutan that could sing?!”
“No, but that’s not the point!”
“You met Monte Blac Cricket?” Ermine interrupted, eyes so wide the whites could be seen even under the rim of their hat, though their mouth quickly split into a smile. “Holy shit, I’d wondered what had happened to him!”
“Wasn’t he your friend or something?” Seiuchi asked through a mouth full of rice.
They shook their head, looking a little wistful, a faint blush rising to their cheeks. “Just a neighbor. The people of Lvneel were dicks to his family and anyone who associated with them didn’t get treated much better. But I always thought there had to be some truth to Noland’s story.”
“Because a city of gold is so fantastical it’s gotta be real?” Nami asked, amused. She’d half-expected everyone to laugh at her like the people on Jaya when she’d asked about Sky Island—she’d even glossed over that part, finding no reason to recap such a blow to her pride. Yet instead, they’d been respectful, even entranced by her tale. It seemed to help that she’d been able to fill in a few blanks with what she remembered from Noland’s ledger, thus adding credibility to the man himself instead of just imagining the lying fool the king’s slander had reduced him to.
Usopp would probably love these guys, she thought fondly. Not that they’d likely believe his fantastical lies, but they’d probably at least let him spin his yarns to his heart’s content.
“Because you don’t tell a king about a city of gold unless you’ve got something to show for it,” Uni interjected wisely, ladling some more curry onto her plate. He paused to smile at her with his eyes, the bottom half of his face still distinctly covered by his bandana despite it being dinnertime. This close, Nami couldn’t help but try to subtly look for signs of scarring, and in fact could spot a line of slightly-paler skin peeking out just over the edge. “That, and history’s rarely all that accurate. Full of lies and twisted to suit a certain narrative.”
“That’s the World Government way. I’m sure we’ll see plenty of it tonight,” Law stated, leaning back in his chair as he munched on some onigiri. The bulge in his cheek might have been comical, but the glint in his eye was humorless. “Can’t wait to hear the dumbass assumptions people make about us Northerners.”
Murmurs of agreement echoed throughout the room, though an angry tic formed on Nami’s forehead.
“Are you saying the stuff you had me study is going to be a load of crap?” she demanded, pointing her finger accusingly. Of course she knew history was skewed at best, but she’d spent days cramming! Had weird sexual dreams about him because of it!
Yes she was blaming the book for that and no one could stop her.
He shrugged and took another bite of rice, unbothered by her irritation. “It’s the information you’ll need to be able to regurgitate if anyone asks you about the North.”
“Yeah,” Penguin chimed in, nodding sagely. He and Shachi had finally been pulled apart by Jean Bart and had resumed eating like nothing had happened. “These people aren’t interested in the truth. They just want to feel superior to the ‘uneducated masses’.”
“Buncha pretentious pricks,” Shachi sniggered, balancing a spoon on his upper lip. “Bet they’d have a fucking fit if they found out El Dorodo’s not only real, but in the fucking sky!”
“I mean, can’t say I’d blame them,” Jude grumbled, playing a bit with his food like a grumpy child. “I figured we’d be the ones to find it, but this whole time we’ve been sailing around in a submarine for nothing!”
“You got something to say about my ship?” Ikkaku snapped, glaring at her crewmate. Behind her, Crozier, Cousteau, and Ermine made slashing motions across their throats, silently reminding him that disparaging the Polar Tang in any way in front of its chief engineer was a sure death sentence.
Before he could say anything, Uni thwapped him on the forehead with the spoon, apparently taking just as much offense. “How can you say it’s been for nothing—we’ve found tons of cool shit down here! May not have been El Dorado, but there have been some amazing sunken cities. And fish! We’ve discovered more aquatic animals than any other ocean explorer,” he pointed out excitedly, Cousteau nodding in agreement. “I mean, we’ve seen deep-sea fish not recorded in any book! Extracted hallucinogenic venom from puffer fish! Taken samples of bioluminescent plankton! We’ve seen octopi punch fish!”
“You ever figure out why they do that?” Shachi asked, cocking his head.
“Best I can figure? Spite.”
As weird as this little tangent was, Nami found herself giggling a bit at how excited Uni was. She didn’t know him too well, given how he was one of the quieter, more reserved members of the crew, but it was endearing to see him so animated and giddy as he discussed marine life.
“Plus, it’s cool to study navigational currents and everything, and underwater topography. The maps I can make from that kind of intel are really good,” Bepo added, twiddling his claws a bit beside her.
“Right! And if that’s still not enough to convince you, who needs a city of gold when you can get your hands on more sunken treasure than most pirates see in their lifetimes?” Uni asked, puffing out his chest.
She couldn’t help it—Nami’s eyes lit up with belli signs at the thought of how many sunken ships the submarine probably came across, all that gold theirs for the taking. Most treasure was basically lost once it hit the bottom of the ocean, but the Hearts’ ship and diving equipment turned the ocean floor into their personal piggy bank.
It seemed Jude had the same thought. “You’re right, you’re right,” he conceded, rubbing the back of his neck. “Sorry, it’s a great ship, and we’ve definitely found more than a city’s worth of loot—and yes the fish are cool Uni put the spoon away—but it’s still annoying to find out that we’ve been searching the wrong place this whole time.”
“Eh, happens to every pirate crew,” Jean Bart said, sipping his drink. “You find a treasure map only to discover the gold’s already dug up. Same with legends of lost cities. The fact that the Straw Hats actually found El Dorado and came away with a profit just means they’ve got the Devil’s luck on their side.”
“Or the favor of some god. Probably not that Enel guy, though,” Shachi said with a smirk. “And hopefully nothing from Joras, either.”
There was a murmur of agreement among the crew at that, though Ikkaku looked more uncomfortable than amused. Nami wasn’t the only one to catch that, though, as Uni reproachfully smacked the side of his head with the spoon.
“Dude. Don’t joke about the eldritch horror gods, yeah?”
“Sorry,” the ginger said, blushing slightly as he wiped away the curry splattered across his face.
“Eldritch horror gods?” Nami asked, recoiling at the thought. What the fuck?! Joras sounded vaguely familiar and given the context she guessed it had to be someplace in the North Blue, but she sure as hell didn’t recall reading anything about that! Was this something related to Northern culture, or were the guys just fucking with her?
“Nothing to worry your pretty little head over, Nami-ya,” Law stated with a smirk, though she didn’t miss the glare he sent Shachi’s way. “We’ve been sailing under the ocean for over five years and I’ve yet to see a sleeping god who can turn you mad with terror.”
“No, just an underwater ruin or two that talks about him,” Ikkaku muttered, picking at her food.
Underwater ruins with tales of sleeping gods? Sounds like something Robin would be interested in, Nami thought, nervous sweat running down her neck. Not that she’d be able to blame her. Sure, the archeologist was macabre as hell, but Nami could appreciate her thirst for knowledge, creepy or not. Who knew what history and cultures had been lost to the seas? Maybe there were even Poneglyphs down at the bottom of the ocean!
Damn. Robin and Law would probably get along great. She wasn’t sure if she was frightened or comforted by this thought.
Uni seemed to notice her unease and patted her shoulder. “We’ve seen some strange stuff down there, but nothing more dangerous than Sea Kings. Which, I mean, aren’t exactly friendly guppies, but they’ll leave us be. The Tang’s Seastone coating and electrical defenses ensure that.”
Though she still found the whole concept horrifying, she was appreciated how hard Uni was trying to keep the peace and not make things needlessly frightening for her. The whole crew had a morbid sense of humor, but while she’d mostly adapted, she still found this whole conversation creepy. It made her feel a little guilty for wanting to pry into his business. Yeah, it was annoying to know the crew was hiding stuff from her, but Uni deserved a little privacy, right?
“Yeah, and if there were anything more, Uni’s fish buddies would warn us ahead of time!” Malamute added.
“Fish buddies?” Nami asked, eyebrows lifting to her hairline in surprise. So much for respecting his privacy. “Wait, can you talk to fish?”
The man in question stiffened beside her. “I, uh, I can understand fish a little,” he said, looking nervous. His large hands twisted the napkin in his lap, and he refused to look at her. “It’s a Haki thing.”
“Haki can do that?” she asked, surprised.
“Observation Haki can do a lot of things, and Uni’s the best at it on the ship,” Law cut in harshly, glare brokering no argument. “It’s a skill that’s saved our asses plenty of times.”
Nami blanched at his defensive tone. “Hey, I’ll take your word for it, but you don’t have to act like I insulted his mother or something.”
“It’s ok, Law,” Uni said, shrugging a bit, though his face seemed to sink a little further into his bandana. “I know she didn’t mean anything by it. It’s a fair question, and it is a weird talent.”
“It’s not weird. It’s fucking useful as hell and I won’t hear anyone belittling my crew.”
“I’d never belittle him—” Nami snapped, starting to stand up to give Law a piece of her mind before Bepo’s heavy paws fell on her shoulders, gently but firmly keeping her seated.
“I’m sorry,” he apologized softly. “Law doesn’t mean you. It’s just…the last person outside the crew that found out, he was extremely cruel about it. Beat Uni to a pulp and even threatened to sell him as a freak show attraction before Captain found them.”
“Oh my god,” she replied, anger cooling quickly as she covered her mouth in horror, imagining Uni bruised and bloody on the ground at the hands of some bastard. Well, that would sure as hell explain why Law had taken such offense. If such a thing had happened to Chopper because he could speak to animals, she’d likely be just as pissed. From the scowls on the rest of the Hearts’ faces, the whole crew felt similar. Her gaze flicked to the fuming captain. “I’m guessing he ended up on your operating table?”
“I wish,” he growled, gold eyes glinting in fury as he crossed his arms. “Marines showed up before I could cut out his heart. Must have been his lucky day, but luck won’t be enough to save him if I ever run into Hyena-ya again.”
“Hyena?” she asked, the name not ringing any bells.
“Bellamy the Hyena,” Bepo explained, snout wrinkling in distaste. “He’s also from the North.”
Oh. My. God, Nami thought, wondering if the world was really so small. “You said Bellamy, right? Blonde hair? Spring powers? Asshole with a stupid grin?”
Law cocked an eyebrow in mild surprise. “Seems you’ve encountered him before.”
She ground her teeth as she remembered the way he’d mocked Luffy’s dreams in the bar. “Yeah. On Jaya. His crew laughed at me for asking about Sky Island and his first mate tried to buy me. Later he stole Cricket’s gold, so Luffy went after him. I didn’t see the fight but given what an ass that guy was…yeah, Luffy wiped that stupid smile off his face.”
Once more the room fell silent, but quickly broke out into thunderous applause.
“Hah! I would have paid good money to see that!” Ikkaku laughed, spirits lifted.
“If he hurt Cricket, I’m glad he got the beating he deserved,” Ermine said with a grin.
Uni smiled, the corners of his eyes crinkling happily. “When you see Straw Hat again, shake his hand for me! That guy’s a dick.”
Even Law was put in a better mood, though there was still a malicious edge to his smirk. “Good on Mugiwara-ya. Still wouldn’t mind doing some permanent damage to the fucker myself, though. Bad enough he insulted my crew, but that bastard should pick his idols more carefully.”
Nami’s brow furrowed at that. His idols? The hell did that mean?
She didn’t have time to vocalizing that question, though. Sweat ran down her neck when said smirk then took a more lecherous edge as he rested his chin on his fist, eyes glinting with mischief. “But Sarquiss-ya tried to buy you? I might have prioritize kicking his ass, then. I’m the only one who gets to be your sugar daddy.”
“Oh shut up! You didn’t even buy me new shoes!”
“You got her a suit but no shoes? For shame, Boss,” Ikkaku giggled, getting up to help Seiuchi and Jude clear the tables. “I thought you were supposed to be a ladies’ man.”
“I’m a cruel bastard who doesn’t do something for nothing. She can borrow yours.”
Sauntering over, she playfully poked him in the forehead. “Says who?”
Law snorted and childishly poked her right back. “Me. Your captain. The guy who pays your salary.”
“You pay me to keep the submarine running and sass you when you’re being an idiot.”
“I don’t pay you for that.”
“Mmmm, you’re right; that’s a service I provide for free.”
“If I didn’t know better, I’d say those two were siblings,” Nami chuckled under her breath.
“Right? When I was first recruited I was convinced they were secretly related,” Uni agreed.
Bepo gave them both a smile and said quietly, “I think it’s good for them. Especially Law. I think he secretly likes having a little sister again.”
Brown eyes widened at that little tidbit. Law had a sister? What happened to her? Bepo had stated the past tense, so there was either some kind of falling out or…
…oh no, she thought, turning to watch Law continue to bicker good-naturedly with Ikkaku, his expression annoyed but the glimmer in his eyes belying that he was enjoying himself. Another piece of the puzzle that was the Surgeon of Death had fallen into her lap, but it wasn’t a particularly happy one. Sure, people died or were killed all the time, but Nami couldn’t imagine what she’d be like if she’d lost Nojiko. And depending on how young they’d been or how she’d died, that could really fuck with a guy.
“Nami-ya.”
Her attention was yanked from her musing as Law called her name. He was on his feet, plate clean and smirk dangerous as he regarded her. Nami wondered whether this would be the last time she’d see him in a genuinely good mood for the rest of the evening. “It’s seven o’clock. Time to get ready to watch history be defiled by pretentious morons. And for your obnoxious thunder god’s sake, make sure you’re wearing shoes you can actually run in.”

Star in the Sand Ch.23
Tumblr media
Sitting on one of the rocks you winced as Chopper treated your injuries, letting out a deep breath as he cleaned the one slice on your shoulder.
"...You need to be more careful Y/n..."
Grinning slightly at the reindeer you nodded, "Yes doc." He had already checked on your baby, assuring you and Crocodile, who had not left your side that your little one's heart was still beating strongly.
As soon as the animal doctor had finished treating his little star he had requested a word with him. While he didn't normally care if people feared him this time he tried to sound a little more reasonable so that the 'Chopper' would agree to tell him everything he needed to know about the health of his soulmate and unborn child. When he nodded his head he kissed the crown of his darling's head and looked into her eyes. "You stay right here and rest while I speak to the... doctor." he told her in a firm voice, removing his coat once again and placing it over her thinly clothed body to keep her warm. Seeing her nod tiredly he looked to Daz and Bentham. "Don't let her out of your sight."
"Of course Mr. Zero." Bentham smiled as the ever imposing man turned away. Looking to his old co-worker he smiled even larger and clung to his arms for a moment before doing a spin, "It's it exciting Mr. One, We are going to be uncles!"
Giggling as both Daz and Croc rolled their eyes you looked down to your belly and rubbed it gently. You couldn't think to describe the weight that had been lifted from your shoulders nor the dark cloud that seemed to disappear now that you were back with your soulmate again. Your child would have their father in their life, they would have a family, looking up at the straw-hats you smiled softly to yourself, and plenty of friends as well.
"So you are the granddaughter of Big Mom and Kaido huh?"
Snapping your head to the side you saw none other than Law come walking over to you. Blinking you looked the man over, his voice and whole demeanor was everything you thought it would be. "So I've been told."
"That means that the child growing inside of you is also of their bloodline. Anyone that has anything to do with Kiado is my enemy. "
Noticing that the name of your Grandparents had caused heads to turn your way you licked your lips before looking back to the warlord. "I have no ties to either of them beyond blood. As far as I'm concerned all the family I have is here with me now."
Finishing up his conversation with the blue nosed Reindeer he turned back to see Trafalgar Law standing close by Y/n. In a flash he was materializing in front of her, staring down the man. "Do you have a problem Law?"
"He won't stop coming for you, he knows you exist now, both of them do. Sooner or later you will have to make a choice." Law spoke, continuing to address the woman behind the famous Crocodile.
"I've already made my choice."
Hearing this he nodded and looked o Crocodile now, "Doflamingo will no doubt be coming here himself, I would make sure she was far away by the time he gets here."  was all he said before turning around and walking away.
Glaring at the man's back for sometime he finally turned to looked down at his woman as he stepped over to her. Stroking the side of her face with his hook he saw her smile lovingly up at him.
"Y/n princess I cooked you some delectable food packed full of proteins and vitamins." Sanji spoke.
"And I brewed you some lavender green tea with a hint of honey, just like you like it." Brook added, rushing over to hand the woman the steaming cup of tea.
"Yeah well I made her favorite vegetables as a side..."
"You are trying to win her over with vegetables, Who does that?!"
"I don't have to win her over, when it comes down to you and me there isn't even a competition."
"Yeah that's because she would pick me!"
Noticing Crocodile's lip twitch and seeing the vein in his forehead poke out you grinned slightly and grabbed his hand before he could use it to make both of your friends a pile of dust. After eating all of our food you were left even more exhausted than you were before. You had tried to stop halfway but Crocodile quickly told you to finish eating. As it came time to say goodbye you quickly gave your gator a pout and your best puppy dog eyes before he growled out and gave a small roll of his eyes.
"Bentham. " he called out, noticing Daz shaking his head from behind the flamboyant man. "...you are coming as well, I at least know you will help keep an eye on her." he spoke and saw Daz's shoulders drop in defeat.
"Of course Mr. Zero! I shall protect Y/n and little Croc with my life." Bentham declared with a over the top bow.
Smiling you hugged Crocodile's waist, feeling his hand rub your back. Looking to the Straw-hats you glanced up to Croc before moving over to your friends. Standing in front of all of them you smiled, "I don't know how to thank you all, I wish I had something to give you or... or something..."
"Don't mention it Y/n. We're friends right? That means we help each other." Luffy smiled and everyone else nodded in agreement. Although you coudl always name the baby after me..."
"Not a chance in hell." Crocodile grunted as he moved over to stand by his love.
Chuckling Luffy rubbed the back of his head. "Worth a shot."
"Here's your bag, I put the gift from Neptune in there as well."
Nami told you, handing over the small bag with the little bit of clothes she had bought you and some other things it looked like.
"There some other stuff as well, thought you might want something to remember us by."
"Oh yeah..." Taking off his hat Luffy ripped off a piece of paper and handed it over to his friend. "Here's my vivre card, that way you can come see us and we can meet little Luffy."
Hearing Crocodile growl you grinned and took the card from him. "Thank you Luffy, for everything."
Smiling he placed his hat back on his head. "Maybe next time we are together you can make that one dish as a thank you... you know the one with the meat and sauce and cheese..."
"Lasagna." you smiled.
"Yea that one."
Nodding you looked to the captain. "It's a deal, until then though I did make you something." seeing his confusion you smiled softly and tilted your head. "It's in your locker. I didn't really have all the details but maybe it will suffice."
Smiling he perked up. "Really?! Is it food? Is it meat?"
Giggling you looked to him, "I guess you'll just have to see."
"All Right! Oooo I hope it's those cookies with the nuts and..."
Watching hi run towards the ship you smiled. "Bye Luffy!"
"See you later Y/n... you too Gator!" Luffy yelled back.
Finishing telling everyone else goodbye you were lifted up into Crocodile's arms as he carried you back to the ship. Looking at all the familiar faces you smiled softy, especially when you saw Maverick smiling largely at you.
"Good ta 'ave ya back lass." the old man spoke in his thick accent.
"Alright get us off this block of ice." Crocodile spoke, giving the command to set sail. Going to take his darling into the cabin he stopped when he heard a loud yell.
""Y/N!!!"
Turning back when he heard the Straw-hat yelling Y/n's name he watched as an arm stretched over to the railing beside them. As the boy was pulled over to his ship he watched as he instantly wrapped his arms around y/n in a hug. He was about to step over and yank the his off but stopped when he noticed the few tears rolling down his cheeks and the picture frame in his hand. Glancing to the picture inside he saw a drawing of what looked to be three young boys.
"Thank you." Luffy said in a thick voice.
Smiling you hugged him back "Don't mention it." you spoke, repeating his words. As he pulled back you gave him one last smile that he returned.
"Don't you worry Y/n I'm going to take down Kaido and then Big Mom then there won't be anyone that wants to hurt you or your baby."
Giggling you nodded. "I'll hold you to that."
................................
Standing behind her in the shower he felt his cock harden but grit his teeth, now was not the time. Watching some of the water running down her body and down the drain he noticed the slight pinkish tint and swallowed hard. He knew she was tired, both her injuries and everything else taking their toll on her. Seeing her leaning against the wall he stepped up behind her and let his eyes take her in. It had been six months since he had last seen his soulmate. She was skinnier than when they had been separated, not as thin as she was when she had first joined up with the straw-hats though according to the doctor. Noticing the light scar running down her back from shoulder to the top of her left ass cheek he furrowed his brows, that was new. Lifting his hand he gently traced the thin mark with his thumb. As if knowing what he was thinking she spoke in a quiet whisper.
"Wouldn't hand over my locket."
A whip then. Clenching his teeth he took a deep breath before leaning down to kiss the scar. From what Chopper had told him her shoulder and forearm had been broken while she was imprisoned, neither of them healing right which now caused her slight pain occasionally. She had been subjected to the cold for months, her body would be sensitive to the cold now for the rest of her life. Basically starved she had lost a tremendous amount of weight, both her and their child now requiring extra proteins and vitamins. The reindeer had also told him that their child would likely be born smaller than it should be, that it would be underweight for a while. Chopper had spoken to him about many things he coudl do and he planned on seeing them through. He would care for her, massage her, keep her warm and feed the best of food. She would rest, grow their child while her own body healed.
The small creature's words rung in his head, making true fear fill him. "If she was to give birth now, in the state she is, she might not live through the birth."
He couldn't loose her, he wouldn't loose her, not again. Or their child. No he would make sure to take the very best care of them both.
Pouring some of the shampoo into her hair he placed the bottle back up before he started washing her hair. It wasn't an easy task, not with only one hand but when she went to take over he grabbed her wrist in a gentle grip and move it back to her side. Carefully he started washing her hair that was now longer than when they had last seen each other. He made sure to get as little soap in the fresh injuries on her shoulder and palms as he next started washing her body. Turning her towards him he saw a bruise forming on the side of her face, going up her temple before disappearing into her hair. Why was it she seemed to always be hurt one way or another. How he grew tired of seeing her beautiful body littered in bruises and blood. Glancing down to her breasts and slightly swollen stomach he again felt his arousal spike but pushed it away and finished bathing her. "Go get into bed little star." he told her, placing a kiss to her forehead.
Drying off you moved into the cabin and pulled on one of his shirts, leaving it only partially buttoned as you crawled into the large bed. Snuggling down into the comfy bed you sighed as his scent overtook you. Closing your eyes you turned your nose to the pillow and listened as he showered himself. By the time he was out you assumed you must have drifted off the movement of the bed starling you.
"It's alright." he spoke n his deep voice, moving to lay down beside her. Opening his arms for her as she moved to cuddle up to him he grinned softly, his eyes closing.
Cuddling up to him you felt his strong arms wrap around you, felt his one hand rub your back under his shirt. Hearing the sound of his heart made it all real, you were so afraid you would wake up and all of this would have been a dream, that you would still be slowly freezing and starving to death in Impale Down. As his lips softly pecked your head you nuzzled deeper into his chest, your eyes filling with tears and your lip trembling.
Hearing her sniffle and feeling the his chest become damp with her tears he continued rubbing her back while his left arm pulled her closer if it was possible. "Why are you crying little star?" he asked in a low voice.
"I'm scared your going to disappear again... that I'm going to wake up and you'll be gone." you whimpered.
"I'm not going anywhere darling." he promised her. Rubbing his hand around to her belly he stroked over the bump there. "I don't know how you did it, how you kept our child alive in that hell, how you even managed to stay alive yourself. You were there longer than I was and still.... everyday I woke up and expected to feel that emptiness take over, for you to have..." he couldn't even finish. Swallowing thickly he continued stroking her belly and side. "I am so sorry starlight..."
"Croc..."
"No, I need to say this." he told her and heard her become quiet. Taking a deep breath he started again, "I failed you yet again. It seems that is all I ever do, that I am unable to protect you. You are my soulmate, it is my responsibility to care for you... Not a day went by that I didn't think of you, that I didn't miss you. You don't know how worthless I felt knowing that the woman I love, the mother of my child was sentenced to that place."
It was strange hearing Crocodile become so emotional, something he always kept locked away but you wouldn't say a word. His hand stayed on your belly, stroking your skin softly.
Taking another breath he kissed gently at her forehead again. "When I got your letter I at first thought it was some trick, that someone was playing some cruel joke on me, I didn't want to believe it because I was so afraid of it being false but it wasn't." smiling a little he continued holding her close. "All the horrible things I've done in my life I can't imagine why fate took mercy on me but I will be forever grateful to have you in my arms again. I may very well never let you leave my side again." Feeling a light kiss to his throat he hummed.
The both of you stayed silent for a while, just basking in one another's embrace before he spoke again.
"Darling..." hearing her sleepy hum he continued rubbing her head and hair. "Earlier with Law, you told him you had already made your choice what did you mean by that?"
"You, I choose you Croc. I will never join Big Mom or Kaido because even though they are blood you are my family. You, me and our little Caiman."
Feeling his lips turn up into a smile he moved his hand to turn her chin up towards him so he could press his lips to hers. It was a long, slow kiss, there was no desire to take it further they were just simply expressing how much they had missed one another, how much they loved one another. When it came time to breath he pulled away but kept her chin tilted so he coudl look into her alluring eyes that he adored so much. "You believe it's a boy then, that we will have a son?" he asked, the soft smile staying on his face.
Nodding lightly you saw his eyes twinkle a little. Rubbing his bare chest you grinned softly and turned some to lay a bit more on your back but still enough to stay in his arms and look up at him. "A son just as handsome as his father and probably just as cunning."
Chuckling he moved his hand to unbutton the few buttons she had holding the shirt on her small frame. "A little boy with his mother's stunning eyes and temper."
Giggling you sighed as he rubbed your belly, "I don't think this world knows what it's got coming." you told him and heard him let out a small laugh. As his hand passed over your lower abdomen you felt a strange sensation and flinched, your eyes snapping down to your belly.
"Was tha..." another jolt hit the palm of his hand and he stared down at her stomach in awe. Grinning he rubbed his hand again slowly and felt his child kick at his hand.
"He knows we're talking about him." you smiled. "That's the first time I've ever felt him move."
Humming he smiled and looked back to her, "See he is already a daddy's boy."
Rolling your eyes some you smiled and reached up to stroke his jaw. You stared at his face until your eyes became to heavy to hold open.
Feeling her hand fall against his shoulder he looked back to her and saw her sleeping peacefully, a soft smile on her face. Grinning he pulled he blanket back over them and settled down beside her, placing a kiss to her temple. "Sweet dreams little star. I love you..." Feeling another hard kick to his hand he smirked, "And you, my son." he spoke in a low deep voice before joining her in the first peaceful sleep in months.
...........................................
He could only grin a little as she looked around confused but he didn't say a word. Keeping her tucked close to his side he led her down the correct street, thankful it was nighttime so not many people were out. As they came up on the home he saw her brows knit a little before she again looked to him. Paying her no mind he walked up to the front door and glanced down to her before opening it and smiling softly, "Welcome home darling."
Blinking your eyes went a bit wide and you looked back towards the large home that was more like a mansion before snapping your eyes back up to him.
Seeing shock on her face he chuckled some and led her inside, shutting the door behind them and locking it.  Removing his coat from her shoulders he hung it on the coat rack and continued watching her as she just stood there looking around but not moving. Sighing softly he took her hand and moved her throughout the place. "I settled on this island a few months ago, took over the black market position here."
"Took over?" you asked but saw him raise a brow. "Never mind I probably don't want to know."
Humming he grinned and showed her room after room. "Truthfully there are more rooms than I know what to do with but at least now we will have a room for the baby." he said and saw her smile sweetly up at him. "You are free to decorate it however you please and anything you need you let me know and I will see you get it."
Smiling you leaned into his side. Ever since the other night when he had felt the baby kick he had seemed rather thrilled of the idea that he was going to be a father. Daz who you had spoken to when Croc had to talk with Bon on something said that it was likely that Crocodile had feared he would never see you alive again, that he would never get o meet his child but now that the both of you were reunited he wasn't taking it for granted.
"This is the kitchen, although I did have chiefs cook for me I was quite fond of your cooking and perhaps if you are willing and up to it we may share one of your delectable meals again." Seeing her nod quickly and smile he grinned but then thought of something. "I don't want you pushing yourself though, if you do not feel like it or you are too tired then I will get the cooks to make you whatever it is you want."
Next he showed you the two living room, the courtyard that had soft green grass and a few trees. Croc had quickly led you to one of the small plants and pointed out that it was your apple tree that you had sprouted on the ship. He told you how you were free to garden all you wanted. After that was the spare rooms, his office that homed many books. You could only smile like a child in a candy shop as you looked over all the books, not knowing he was watching you smiling.
At the end of the tour he led her down the hall to the large wooden door, opening it he checked it over for safety before turning on the lights and stepping to the side to allow her in. "And this is our room."
Walking inside you looked around the large room. There was the massive canopy bed in the center of the room with a matching dresser and side table on each side. A little sitting area was in the right corner with what looked to be a private door to the courtyard behind it. On the other side of the room was two more doors, closet and on suit most likely. The bedding and chairs were all done in a grey color that complimented the dark wood. "It's beautiful, all of it." you told him, turning to face him as he came to stand beside you.
Grinning he looked down at her, stroking her lightening bruised cheek with his knuckles. "I am glad you like it." Feeling that spark of arousal he swallowed and cleared his throat. "Come let me show you to the bathroom, I am sure you like a shower before bed."
The bathroom was no less grand than the bedroom or rest of the house for that matter. A huge soaking tub that would fit you, croc and probably another person set in one corner with a equally large walk in shower on the other. Crocodile had quickly started the shower for you, adjusting the temperature before saying he wanted to check something, asking you if there was anything you wanted or needed before he left you to bathe. You found it strange that he seemed to always have something to do anytime you needed to be naked. That over emotional side of you kept saying it was something with the way you looked now, maybe you were no longer attractive to him. While you tried to see reason you couldn't help but be hurt a little.
Removing your clothes and then the bandages you glanced up to the mirror and looked over your body. Bruises spotted your skin along with the healing sword slash across your shoulder. Injuries were here and there and you felt your lip twitch as your eyes moved to your breasts. They were still much smaller than when you had first went into Impale Down. Looking down to your small baby bump you sighed and rubbed your abdomen.
Taking a long shower you got out feeling much more refreshed than you had before. Drying off something caught your eye and you grinned when you noticed your silk pajama set folded on the bathroom counter. You were sure they weren't here before, he must have brought them in. Pulling on the shorts and shirt you brushed your hair and teeth before walking out to the room. Seeing Crocodile sitting in one of the chairs you moved over to him and curled up in his lap when he held his arm out. Humming you grinned and nuzzled into his neck.
Grinning himself he wrapped his arm around her, kissing her head. "I missed this."
"Me too." you told him, closing your eyes as his warm calloused hand rubbed your thigh.
Closing his eyes as his hand creased her soft skin he adjusted his legs as his pants grew tighter. Damn he wanted her, he craved her, so much it was taking everything he had to keep from carrying her over to the bed and taking her like the deprived man he was. He should have made her wear the pants. Not that it would have done any good. She coudl probably be wearing a burlap bag and he would still feel as horney as a teenage boy. He had to wait though, wait until she was healed. It had been six months and his body was aching for her but he wouldn't risk hurting her or his child. No he would just have to resist. Glancing around the room he saw her bag sitting on the table and rose a brow, a distraction is what he needed. "The Straw-hat woman, Cat burglar Nami I believe her name is, she mentioned something about packing you other things she thought you might want, what s it?"
Sitting up you smiled and grabbed the bag from the table, not realizing your dear Gator was staring at your backside, his hand trembling as he resisted grabbing it. Sitting back on his lap you felt him move your legs to rest over his other knee as you started picking out items to show him. "Pappag gave me these, well more like Nami talked him into letting them get anything they wanted." you smiled.
Glancing over the clothes as she pulled them out of the bag he saw she had a pair of shorts, a t-shirt with a star on it and the word 'Crimin' on it along with a black two piece bathing suit with the same design on one of the cups. Humming he rose a brow and leaned back some. "And who is this Pappag?"
"Oh he's a starfish that designs clothes. He's a really big deal on Fishman Island."
"A starfish." he asked and saw her nod. Grunting he listened as she told him about her time in Fishman Island with the Straw-hats. He had been surprised to find out that Jinbe and her father had been friends. While he didn't much care for the shark he was grateful for him helping his love send him the letter. Next he watched her show him the music box that King Neptune had gifted their child. As he listened to the soft tune he couldn't help but grin a little at the soft smile on her face as she talked about how they coudl play it to help their little Caiman go to sleep. When he saw her face light up he watched as she pulled out tangerines.
Looking to him you grinned, "Your child seems to like fruit just as much as you." Thinking of something you tilted your head. "You know these are from a tree Nami brought on the ship with her, from Conomi Islands, your home."
Raising both of his brows at that he looked to the fruit as she peeled it.
Taking one of the sections into your mouth you grinned and held another to his lips. As he parted his lips you placed the piece on his tongue and saw the corner of his lip turn up as he ate it making you smile.
"Still the best tangerines in the world." he said and saw her smile before offering him another.
For the next few minutes the two of you sat in the chair talking and snacking on a few more tangerines. You were quick to save the seeds, hoping to grow a tree of your own. Soon however though you were covering a yawn and he was standing.
Carrying her over to the bed he pulled back the covers and laid her down. He coudl tell she was sleepy based on how heavy her lids hung over her eyes. Tucking her in he kissed her brow before going to take a shower himself but only after making sure both the balcony door and bedroom door were locked. Getting out he glanced over to her sleeping form and sighed at the feeling. Quietly moving over to the dresser he pulled on a pair of pajama pants while staring at the neatly folded scarfs beside it. Reaching under them he grabbed the small velvet box hidden underneath and pulled it out. Flipping it open he stared down at the ring he had picked out over six months ago. It was beautifully crafted, only the best for his little star. The plan had been to give it to her that night in the hotel after they ate dinner but then she had felt ill and then that Charlotte had shown up. The whole night he had planed out had been ruined in an instant. Raising his chin he closed the box. This time everything would go right. Placing it back under the scarfs he closed the drawer, hiding it away for only a few days more.

After a long brake from this saga, it returns for her birthday! However, I should start this by saying the obvious fact that I don't like they way Nami and women in general are drawn, I really wish the mangaka had a middle ground between the 'If I sneeze I'll snap in half sexy girls' and the 'i will crush you in my fat rolls ugly girls' types but here we are and this is what we've got. As a result, most of my connects would usual be how I wish she her skirts would be longer n such but I'm not gonna do that because I don't want it to get in the way of the actual content in the post. Let's go: NAMI!!
Tumblr media
'First appearance': it's not the first at all, idk what to call it tho, it's her 3rd. it's just the one in We are so technically counts. It's probably the nostalgia, but I love this look. I can't place why but I'm not even mad at the weird stripe lengths design, it's just cute to me. The sleeves are short but long enough to hide her tattoo and I adore her skirt too like the dark orange parts remind me of blood oranges!
Tumblr media
Baratie, Loguetown, Little Garden, first Arabasta outfit, (& Long Ring Long Land) Post-Arabasta & Post-Enies Lobby: This was probably a common or local brand for her cos she's rocking that skirt in all different colors 👌 Also, I just wanna start by saying, all her t shirts actually go past her hips? So her skirts would actually be longer than they look cos she's actually draw quite strange when in tops. Anyway, shes starting off strong with this nice pink top n I like the nice shade with the white. Then, a dark blue for the first and only time ever for Nami to pick out. I personally think lighter colors are nicer for her tho. Bringing us to this BEAUTIFUL baseball jersey with purple sleves, get it bitch oml! 😘 I don't think that skirt matches very well but it's still cute. Then, she tries stripes and I think it works out well and I think the 3/4 length look is good for her too so that one is nice. The diamond pattern tank top is actually one of my favourite Pre-Skip looks just because it's so well matched with the skirt. You can't see in the picture but the dot inside the circle is the same yellow as her top so it's just very well done, definitely an actual set. And the lace? Amazing. I hate the feel of lace myself but it looks amazing.
Tumblr media
Baratie, Drum Island, Post-Arabasta, Long Ring Long Land Whisky Peak, Post-War, Punk Hazard: Now, I don't actually have much to say about these, I just think they are worth mentioning.i like Nami in shirts with text, I always spend way too long trying to read em lol. Anyway, I like the Drum Island shirt & Punk Hazard shorts because ✨ stripes ✨
Tumblr media
Water 7 & Enies Lobby: Nami's first dress! And also a new skirt! I like this frilly style more, I wish it stayed around tbh but oh well. Water 7 gives us the iconic blue shirt & tie with matching shoes and it's a blessing really. Then, Enies Lobby gave us the strange Denim outfit that Paulie hated with all his mind 🤣 At the time,I thought it was a cool outfit. It's not bad, the too looks a bit armour so it's go that going for it and that jacket slaps in my opinion. I like long sleeves on cropped jackets.
Tumblr media
Thriller Bark: Pink! When I saw the first outfit, I thought something super bad was going to happen because it looked fancy and that anime for 'time to die'. Lucky for her, nothing happened at all apart for her just looking really grown up. I like her hair too, super cute. In the next fit, it's a total flip, quite punk. Her belt is a nice contrast from her skirt and I LOVE her top! Her party outfit looks like an itchy lace and the straps, while I live frills, look very irritating. It looks cute but I could never wear it myself. Lastly for this set is one of my all time favourites for Nami because she gets to wear a necklace! It's very small and hard to see but I think it's amazingly cute. This combination of her hair being down again, a nice pokadot shirt, full length jeans and a big smile from making a friend makes it all the best.

Sabaody Archipelago & Levely: As with the 3rd outfit set, I just think these are neat. She's rockin' a different necklace, shorts and a 90s style flower top then in Levely she's chillin' in a simple puff sleeve shirt with hearts a cross the chest. Simple looks, very effective
Tumblr media
Fish-Man Island, Punk Hazard & Dressrosa: Fish-man island comin' in hot with the iconic Timeskip look and belt! This, I much prefer the Crimin bra because it's simple plus her hair is up really cutesy. Also it's funny cos that would have been expensive for she didn't steal all the outfits she did. Looks wise, Punk Hazard is my favourite but I really dislike that it doesn't cover the bottom of her boobs and its not really supportive. I think it's my favourite because it reminds me of Frankys vibes. Dressrosa's is also really cute but once again looks like the frills would tickle a bit. Also I like her shorts.
Tumblr media
Zou: A DRESS! not only that but it's Purple, a color she's not worn before more than as sleeves years back. It's an interesting dress style, very lacy and would brake easy but it's VERY nice to look at. Her next looks bring back the ruffley frills and basic shirts. The half button shirt has her 2nd number on it and the colour matches her skirt! I like the purple coming back in her next skirt but what I like way more is her last Zou look. It's a nice halter neck with black lace trim then to make it better, her skirt is a wonderful shade of red that has an adjustable rope belt with little gold buttons on! I just- 🥰
Tumblr media
Whole Cake Island & Wano: everyone's lord and fashion savour, WHOLE CAKE!!! I mean look at how cute she is in that first one! That fairytale aesthetic really owns my ass at this point! Then it's a total shift with that more mature sexy style red turtleneck dress no sleeves? The side by side vibes are 😘👌 love em! Plus, this arc gave us more purple AND 2 box neckline dresses which I think with Nami they really work. The forts Wano ouyfit is only here cos blue really works for her. It look okay but I don't think they are as nice as most people do. Idk what it is about it, I think it's just too square. The 2nd is nicer to my eyes, idk
Tumblr media
And lastly, I just wanted to Shout out the First eps and the Dead End Adventure outfit cos it looks like Vector from Despicable me:
This post was made listening to 'One Piece vibes' by Kato & rewatching One Piece

Chapter One
There must be something there that wasn’t there before.
‘It felt like she was dreaming.
For the last eight years she’d been living in sheer hell. Hope was a foreign concept when hers had been gunned down right in front of her eyes. At ten years old she was forced to grow up and take on the role of protector that Bellemere had previously played. Freedom became a legend she could no longer afford believe in.
Still, Arlong would offer it to her; keeping it just barely out of her reach so she’d obey his every order. If she drew enough charts, if she saved enough money -she could save her village. There was only a slim chance that she’d be successful and it would take a long time - but she didn’t care. She would do it. She had to, or else her mother would have died for nothing.
Her future looked bleak, with only the tiniest pinprick of light shone at the end of the tunnel. Then... A teenager with devil fruit powers quite literally fell into her life bringing with him an explosion as bright as the birth of a star and suddenly - she was free. For the first time ever, somebody had showed up to defend her; to slay the monsters she never could.’
Nami sighed quietly, leaning one of her shoulders against the alley wall, observing the party her villagers had thrown to celebrate. The last time they’d felt joy like this she had only been as tall as Genzo’s knee, and their family was still whole. It felt indescribably wonderful to know that she would never have to worry about her home again. The Arlong pirates had been defeated and the prison she lived in destroyed. ‘She was safe now.’
Her gaze swept along the crowded street from face to smiling face until they landed on Luffy.
‘Luffy.’
Her heart surged into her throat like it did when she thought about Bellemere. How could she ever hope to express to him how grateful she was for what he did? ‘He would probably say, just buy me lots of meat.’
Nami’s lips quirked into half a grin. Luffy was so noble, and brave - and yet at the same time he was the goofiest human being she’d ever met. He made her smile. He’d protected her when she thought that the only person capable of that had been killed a long time ago. She didn’t have to fight alone; she’d never have to fight alone again so long as she had her friends.
‘Her friends… She had friends now.’
The navigator searched for them. She spotted Usopp standing on top of one of the tables near Luffy with his hands on his hips. He seemed to be spinning one of his less than truthful tales to entertain anyone who would listen.
She found Sanji a little way further doting on Nojiko who looked amused. Her head shook side to side but she was grinning to herself.‘So typical of them.’
Continuing her search, as there was one more crew member that she hadn’t seen since the battle, she frowned when she couldn’t find Zoro. ‘Maybe he was still being treated… He had been injured pretty horribly before he even got to Cocoyashi-“
Nami winced when the memory of her socking him in the gut and stomping on his chest flashed through her head. The look on his face, and his labored coughing as he doubled over... He must have been in an unimaginable amount of pain. ‘But that hadn’t stopped him from fighting with every last ounce of his strength to save them. To save her.’
She should apologize…
The navigator went to snag a bottle of sake from one of the tables laden with food and drink, then made her way towards Dr. Nako’s infirmary. The doctor probably didn’t want him drinking but it would make the swordsman happy – and she loved to see him smile.
                                            ***
Zoro was resting his eyes when he heard the clinic door open, but paid it no mind since he assumed the old man had come back to check on him. He listened to the footsteps as they crossed the room, but they were a lot lighter than the doctors. Click-clack, click clack, click clack.
‘They sort of sounded like heeled sandals.‘
“Zoro? Are you awake?”
‘Oh. It was Nami.’
His stomach did a little backflip, and his heart thundered just a bit faster. But he couldn’t let her know the effect she had on him or else she’d use him like that stupid cook. He pretended to be sleeping deeply but she didn’t leave. ‘Maybe he should say something mean to make her go away-‘
“I brought you a present.”
Now he was interested. Zoro cracked one eye open to see what she had for him and then grinned stupidly. “Sake!”
“I knew you were faking it,” she wrinkled her nose, lowering herself beside him on the mattress as he sat up to take the bottle from her. Almost instantaneously he cracked it open and gulped a couple mouthfuls down. “Jeez, would you have acknowledged me if I hadn’t brought you booze? You damn alcoholic.”
He narrowed his eyes at her because she better not have only come here to pick a fight with him – sake or not. “Don’t you try and guilt trip me, woman- hey!” Zoro yelped when Nami pinched his cheek, though it didn’t really hurt. He grabbed her hand and yanked it away from his face. ‘Knock it off.”
“I was only teasing you, dummy.” Her eyes shifted to his bare chest and traced their way down the length of the freshly stitched wound that crossed his entire torso. She still couldn’t believe he’d fought so valiantly in this condition. Sometimes the intensity of his ambition and determination were almost frightening.
“Do I need to put a shirt on, Nami? You look like you’re getting distracted.”
The smirk that dressed his face was so arrogant that she wanted to pinch him again but when she went to move her hand – he was still holding onto it, ‘Why did that make her feel like there were butterflies fluttering around inside of her?’ Nami turned her head to the other side as her face flushed with heat, hoping some of her hair would hide it.
Zoro gave her a quizzical look before he noticed his grip on her fingers. ‘Oh, shit. He was such a fucking idiot.’ Clearing his throat and bringing the bottle to his lips, Zoro let go of them hastily. ‘Just pretend it didn’t happen,’
“So… Why’d you come all the way over here to give me this, anyway?” He asked to change the subject, leaning towards the side table and setting the sake onto it.
Nami clasped her hands together in her lap, not yet turning her head because it felt like her face was getting hotter. “Well… Um. Actually…” she peeked at him, and he had one eyebrow cocked, “I came to say I’m sorry.”
“…..Sorry for what?”
‘Was he being serious?’ Nami finally looked at him and his expression was still stumped. “For punching you! And…” Her head bowed in shame, shoulders rounding as she went on, “And stomping on you, while you had an injury like this,” a deep frown began to settle into her mouth and forehead, “I should have known better, I should have guessed that you were injured pretty badly-”
“Nami.”
“-you were covered in bandages, after all, but I was so worried that they’d kill you if they thought we were friends-“
“Nami.”
“-so I hurt you to make it seem like I didn’t care about you, but I shouldn’t have hit you so hard, maybe if I’d been gentler you wouldn’t have been in so much pain-“
“Nami.” Zoro cut her off firmly and grabbed her shoulders, shaking her in a delicate manner and pulling her towards him. She finally lifted her head back up and looked him in the eyes, but hers were welled with tears that she was trying desperately not to shed. A sharp pang stabbed all the way through his heart. ‘Was she really crying because she felt so bad about hurting him? Did… She care about him that much?’
“It’s fine,” he murmured, sliding his hands down to her triceps and squeezing them tenderly as if to reassure her, “I’m fine, okay?”
Nami didn’t believe him for one second, but she didn’t have the energy to argue. Especially not when he was gazing at her with so much genuine concern written into his brow line. It surprised her. ‘Did he care about her so much that he was lying about the pain to ease her guilt?’
A tidal wave of intense affection crashed over her entire being. “Oh, Zoro-“ she cried out and tossed both of her arms around his neck, hugging him as tightly as she possibly could. Her chin found a perch on his shoulder. Tears squeezed out of her blinking eyes to clear her vision and dripped down her cheeks onto his skin.
Zoro sat there, frozen, having not at all expected her to do something like this. When she didn’t let go of him - he curved his arms around her waist, pressing one of his palms against her upper back. His head bowed slightly. and he leaned the side of his face on her hair, eyelids slipping closed. He wasn’t very good at comforting people with words, but he knew how to be a warm shoulder to cry on thanks to Luffy and his occasional night terrors.
For a few minutes no one said anything… They just held each other. Until Nami whispered something in a voice so quiet that he almost didn’t hear her. Almost.
“You’re my hero.”
His heart started to beat unevenly and his stomach did a double backflip. ‘Why was he so nervous all of a sudden?’
“…Nami,” she started to pull away from him but stayed close enough to rest her elbows on his trapezius muscles. His fingers splayed between her shoulder blades and pressed into her shirt. For some reason his voice rumbled like thunder when he spoke, “I’m not a hero...”
“You are to me.”
“……” The way she was looking at him stirred up far too many feelings for him to account for. Zoro’s gaze flickered down to her mouth then back to her eyes. ‘She was such a beautiful person. Not just her face, but the content of her character. Her soul. Kuina had been beautiful like that, too.’
Even though he knew he probably should, he didn’t want to let go of her. A burning flood of passion captivated him with the urge to kiss her. ‘Wait - kiss her?’ His heart jumped into his throat. ‘What?? Had he turned into the damn cook?!’
She was sitting so close to him, closer than she’d ever been in the past. He could count each of her freckles and draw constellations on them. If he tilted his head down, they’d knock foreheads. And she smelled so sweet… ‘Like freshly peeled tangerines.’
Nami watched his expression shifting steadily from one emotion to the next. ‘What was he thinking? Why hadn’t he pushed her away yet?’ Not that she wanted him to. Quite the opposite, actually. Her gaze darted to his lips when he wet them, then moved back up to find his eyes half-lidded. He unconsciously bumped the end of his nose against hers.
“Nami, I…”
Was... He going to kiss her?
“I..”
It certainly seemed like he wanted to. ‘Did she want him to?’ Nami shivered but not because she was cold. She’d never thought about kissing Zoro prior to this moment but now that she was… ‘She kind of wanted to kiss him, too. She kind of wanted to kiss him a lot.’ All he had to do was lift his chin a few more centimeters.
He closed his eyes and started to, slowly...
WHAM! The clinic doors burst open followed by a shouting voice they both recognized.
“ZOOOOOOOROOOOOOO!”
Nami shoved herself off of her crew mate and the mattress at the same time that he practically ripped his arms from her torso. She took a step back just as their captain came bounding in holding a large plate piled with food.
“Oh hi Nami, why’re you here?” Luffy noticed her standing somewhat awkwardly beside the bed but his gaze shifted to Zoro and he forgot all about it. “Oh yeah, look Zoro!” He beamed at his first mate, scrunching both of his eyes closed and holding the plate up, “I brought you meat.”
The navigator chose this moment to slip away. Her heart was beating so fast that it felt like a hummingbird was trapped in her rib cage. ‘What had just happened! Well - what had just nearly happened?! Were they about to kiss?? If Luffy hadn’t run in, would Zoro have kissed her?!’ It had happened so slowly yet so quickly at the same time.
‘But they were just friends… Right?’
Question after question danced through her head until she shook it violently to clear it. She told herself that it must have been the sake that made Zoro act the way he did, because they were just friends. If he had another chance to kiss her she was certain he wouldn’t take it.
‘And yet… A small part of her wanted to give it to him anyway.’
                                                                          ***
Zoro had trouble settling down after Luffy left him to find more food(he’d eaten almost everything that he originally brought for his first mate.) He just... Couldn’t stop thinking about Nami - about what he’d almost done. ‘What the fuck had come over him? He’d never wanted to kiss her before tonight, so where the hell did he even get that idea from?’
“I’m drunk,” the swordsman said out loud to the empty building, like he was trying to convince himself, even though he knew it took at least two bottles to get him tipsy – and he’d barely drunk half of the first one. “I’m drunk,” he repeated, glaring at the foot of his bed where Luffy had left the mostly empty plate. All that was left were a few tangerines.
‘He and Nami were friends.’
Zoro picked one up and held it in front of him, expression unreadable.
‘What had happened tonight was a fluke, and there was no way it would ever happen again.’
With only a few rays of moonlight seeping through the curtains above his head, he could just make out the normally much brighter orange sheen of the fruit’s skin.
‘They were just friends. But… Was that all he honestly wanted them to be?’

The quill got twisted one more time around her fingers before Nami finally allowed it to fall back onto the drafting table, bone deep exhaustion after countless nights of little to no sleep finally taking its toll. How the utensil clattered against the wooden surface sounded too loud in the otherwise quiet room, not even a breeze coming in from the open window to her left. Before Nami could think twice, her head twisted to stare expectantly at the door, too tired to feel any form of real dread. It's late, well past midnight, and normally if she made any type of noise at this hour one of Arlong's henchmen wouldn't care about breaking down the door, more than ready to violently discipline her if she stepped out of line. With some of them, not even Arlong's orders were enough to stop them. You're nothing more than a tool.
Nami sighed softly when, after a few tense minutes of watching the dim light filtering in from the crack at the bottom of the door, waiting for movement, the door didn't slam open. Whoever was on watch just outside her prison must have been asleep. That's the only explanation she could come up with. It happened on more than one occasion in the past. Some of the men Arlong had working under him weren't exactly the most reliable. Returning her attention to the map she was currently in the process of making, Nami trailed bloodshot, tired eyes over the crudely drawn lines. They're made out of necessity. There's none of her usual passion in the drawings, no enthusiasm. Just hastily drafted, dead scrawls of ink printed on the cheapest drafting paper money can buy. A thin hand shifted to trace one of the lines that Nami messed up on earlier, but didn't see the point of correcting before the ink properly dried. It wasn't like Arlong would notice, or care, so why should she? Even if he did, the consequences were so predictable now that Nami was more than used to them. Maybe he'd get more creative the next time Nami 'disobeyed' him. Fingers curled absently against the paper as her thoughts wandered, gaze leaving her work-in-progress to take in the piles upon piles of other completed maps he forced her into making over the years. Her small room was a mess of them. Even the ones she faked, he refused to get rid of. A reminder for when you feel like being a brat, Arlong told her in the beginning, that sinister smirk accompanying the not so subtle threat. Some were tear-stained and smudged beyond recognition because of how he loved to roughly rub her face against the still wet ink like a naughty dog. Others were even more crumpled and in worse condition from when he decided to get a little more brutal than his typical move of crushing her head under his palm. Nami made sure to keep them all together in the darkest corner of the room, somewhere she didn't frequent, only sparing them a glance on nights like this. Slowly, so her rickety chair that was on the verge of falling apart didn't make too much noise scraping against the uneven wooden floor, Nami pushed herself away from her drafting table and stood up. She made sure to grab the lone candle given to her for light from the corner of the table, then moved over to the aforementioned pile of maps, brown eyes taking on a faraway look once she dropped to her knees. How long had it been since he took over her village? Five, going on six years? Either way, it was too long. Nami didn't think gathering a hundred thousand Beri would take this long, but here she was, barely at the half-way mark. That in and of itself wasn't an easy feat. She had to do some unthinkable things just to get this far. Worse than just stealing from filthy pirates who were none-the-wiser. There was no doubt in her mind that she would need to continue doing said things, too. What other heinous acts would Nami have to force herself through to get the rest? Why did it matter so damn much? Her entire village already hated her, probably more than they hated Arlong and his crew, and she couldn't really blame them. The hatred was more than deserved. She was a traitor. Bellemere was probably looking down on her right now absolutely disgusted with the vile thing she'd turned into. Nami wouldn't be surprised if she was even disappointed in the choices she'd made. Using her skills to help the enemy. A let down, through and through. Nami didn't realize she was subconsciously gripping at her left shoulder—the tattoo—until the slight sting of her nails digging into skin registered, ripping her from her spiralling thoughts. Teeth clenched, a lump of heavy emotion forming in her throat that Nami tried, and failed, to swallow down. She didn't remove her hand. Instead, Nami's grip tightened and then she dragged, thin lines of blood welling up to the surface of rather deep scratches. It didn't take long for the rage to come after that. ❝ Damn you... Damn you for destroying my life, ❞ Nami hissed out through gritted teeth, tear-blurred vision staring down at the incriminating maps in front of her. In a fit of anger, she growled and swiped aggressively at the pile with her free hand, forcing a flurry of papers and other small knick knacks surrounding it to scatter about the room. More noise, far louder than when she dropped her pen, but at this point she didn't care. Nami was tired. Tired of dealing with being treated worse than dirt; tired of being hated by the people she was trying her damnedest to protect; tired of working under the very person who murdered her guardian right before her eyes. Tired of it all. Unfortunately, when Nami found herself spiralling like this, thoughts heavily saturated with self-hatred and disgust, she also got self-destructive. She knew exactly what would take her mind off of how she was feeling, give her a taste of what she truly deserved, and also knew exactly how to get it. Not that it was very hard to do living under the thumb of a man who would no doubt kill her when she was no longer useful to him. This time the door did slam open, metal handle banging back against the wall from the force, followed by a litany of curses and heavy, angered footsteps from whoever was on watch duty. Nami was prepared for it. The anxiety, emotional pain and anger quickly got pushed aside to make way for an emotionless, cocky smirk, which she levelled on the man who barged in when she stood back up and slowly turned around to face him. ❝ What the fuck do you think you're doing?! ❞ The Fishman roared, taking her wrist in a bruising grip to hold it above her head and roughly shaking her like a ragdoll, not seeming to care about the blood now trickling down her arm. ❝ Stupid wench, do you realize what time it is? ❞ Already so angry. Good. Nami knew Arlong ordered his men not to harm her, but all she had to do was say the right words to tick them off and they would act without thinking of said orders, especially the idiots like this one seemed to be. Giving her arm a tug, definitely not using enough strength to get out of his grip, Nami tilted her head off to the side, as if confused. ❝ Why... I believe it's half-past kiss my ass, ❞ she stated in a sickeningly sweet tone. It got the desired effect. If he wasn't already angry, he definitely was now. Absolutely livid if his features twisting up was anything to go by, and it had Nami lighting up inside, even after getting swiftly backhanded. Her head knocked harshly to the side, blood flooding her mouth from accidentally biting into her cheek, but she couldn't stop herself from chuckling. Please. Don't let me think... Don't let me feel anything else... ❝ Fucking bitch. Seems you need to be put in your place, again. ❞ Yes, it seems I do...

Little Bits and Pieces of Heaven
ON OR OFF?
One-shot #: 21
Disclaimer: One Piece (and its characters) belongs to Eiichiro Oda-sensei.
Reminder: I have no beta-reader. Any grammatical and spelling errors are solely mine.
Warning: OOC possible. One shot.
Rating: T. NSFW. (Nothing explicit, but adult talks.)
Note: I pretty much wonder what topics these two have when they are drinking together. Then I heard the question and got an idea. So here it is. Plus, #6 prompt from the ♣ prompt collection.
And pending prompt requests are still on the works. I get stuck sometimes that's why I write breathers like this one as right now I'm not really happy with the plots that I've come up with or the drafts I've written. I want to enjoy writing it rather than for the just jotting down a story and posting it.
Also, I might close the request box before this month ends. So if you have any more requests just message me.
Summary: "Wow! How strong is this bourbon" anyway?
"Ok… so lights on or lights off?"
Nami smiled mischievously before downing the glass of two fingers worth of bourbon that was sitting on the counter in front of her. The golden brown liquid slid down her throat smoothly, leaving a burning yet delicious sensation. She set the glass down happily while savoring the spreading warmth on her cheeks.
The man beside her smirked, shaking his head at her question. Zoro then mirrored her action, knocking back his own drink in one gulp.
She waited a beat as he placed his glass back on the counter and reached out for the bottle they were sharing. He poured another round in his glass and surprisingly in hers as well.
She observed him for a moment, before nudging his leg with her own when he did not answer her question.
"So?" Nami prodded playfully.
Zoro raised an eyebrow at her. He seemed to be thinking for a moment. With a shrug he finally replied, "Off."
The navigator straightened up at that. “Really?” She shot him with a downright curious stare. "Why?"
The swordsman paused for a moment. "No need to bother with the details if it's just one time thing.” He explained casually. “It’s not like you're gonna see them again."
Nami's lips formed an exaggerated 'o' at his response. She knows how straightforward Zoro is. But damn! Even in bed he is all business?
Though to be honest, he kinda got a point somehow...
"So it's wham bam thank you maam for you?” She inquired not bothering to fight the puckish grin that wanted to appear on her lips.
Zoro laughed loudly at that before emulating her grin. "That's all I need. Nothing more.”
"Gosh Zoro that's just cold!"
He laughed again as her reaction entertained him.
"Leaving women behind just like that." Nami shook her head, feigning disappointment as her long, orange locks bounced around her from the movement. "You really are a brute."
“No use prolonging the interaction Nami," Zoro chuckled as he ran a hand through his hair. “It's not like I’m there to make love or something."
"Sanji-kun will have a fit when he hears you."
"So?" Nami chortled at his typical annoyed retort whenever their resident cook was brought up.
“I’m pretty sure you’d do the same… before robbing them blind of course.” He taunted.
“Excuse me! I’d never do it with the people I rob!” She frowned at him before reaching for her drink… her warm, brown eyes never leaving his. “If I rob them I just rob them,” she continued before tossing down her drink and sliding her glass towards him so he can fill it up again.
He quirked an eyebrow at her non-verbal demand.
She just answered him with a sassy smile. “Unless,” she whispered lowly. “They are hot stuff of course. Then… I might reconsider.”
Zoro studied her for a few seconds, before emptying his own drink and proceeding to refill their glasses. “Why are we even talking about this?” He asked, genuinely intrigued.
“Hmmm… I don’t know. But it seems to me you don’t mind having this conversation at all.”
He shrugged. They usually talk about a lot of random stuff when they are drinking—no holds barred. But they seldom venture towards... sex.
Though he wasn’t really surprised when Nami suddenly asked that question. She usually does it once in a while (this does not even compare to her other more outrageous and scandalous ones),  hoping to get some dirt on him that she can use for leverage.
“So how about you?”
He threw back the query at her, almost scoffing at the way her eyebrows disappeared behind her orange bangs as she looked startled. Apparently she did not expect him to return the honor.
“Me?”
“Yeah.”
Nami reached out for her drink with smile. “On of course. Since I’m kind of a sucker for visual stimulation.” She winked at him. “My eyes need to be pleased for me to be pleased as well. I have to see and admire the face and the body if I’m going to sleep with it.”
Zoro brought his own glass up if he was about to take a drink again but stopped, pondering about something. “Works for me if I like the girl.” He muttered indifferently, before swallowing the potent liquid down like it was nothing but water.
“Whoa! What?!” She had just grabbed her glass and yet she almost slammed it back down on the counter.
“You know what I mean.”
The orange-haired girl pursed her lips, thinking. Well she did somehow understand what he was implying. She nodded slowly. "You mean, like emotionally attached?” She emphasized the word.
When he didn’t bother to confirm her assumption, she snorted. “Like you’ll ever be!”
“Oi. Aren’t you quick to judge onna?” He retorted, a bit insulted.
“Wait, wait! You mean you are capable of actually fancying someone?!” Nami gasped, slapping a hand down on his thigh in excitement. “You actually have a crush on someone?!”
Zoro glared at her. Then at her hand.
But she was far too distracted by the revelation to pay his scathing look any mind.
He chose to just ignore her, pouring the remaining contents of the bottle to his glass. He should draw the line here and call it a night… before her teasing leads to a nasty fight between them that can last for days.
“Hey, hey,” Nami shifted closer to him; face stopping an inch from his own and nose almost touching his cheek.
He glanced sideways at her, as he brought the glass to his lips.
Her voice was low but fascinated as she murmured in his ear; her warm breath tickling and sending shivers down his spine. “You mean if you are able to hook up with a girl you actually like… like someone you are crushing on… you’ll leave the lights on?”
Zoro scrutinized her for a moment. Nami had a really, really interested expression on her face.
Looks like he had unwittingly given her something to use on him. Damn it!
Though he found himself nodding in answer. “Yeah…” he muttered.
“Really?”
“Nothing's gonna stop me from admiring every inch of her body... all night long.”
Nami looked dumb-founded, mouth gaping open as she regarded him. Honestly, she never thought Zoro would answer her question knowing how tight-lipped he is.
But for heaven’s sake that last statement of his…
…was fucking turning her on.
She quickly drew back away from him to settle back on her stool, trying to cover up the sudden surge of arousal with feigned amazement. “Wow! How strong is this bourbon anyway? It's making your tongue loose!” She managed to josh as he chugged down the remaining bourbon in his glass.
“You tell me. You’re the one who started asking weird questions.”
"Let me try it again. Spill some more beans come on!”
“No.”
She pouted. “You’re no fun.” She looked like she was about to go into one of her famous fits when she suddenly laughed. Looking slyly at him, she snickered. “So light’s off huh? Then smash and dash, just like that?"
Zoro chuckled. “You make me sound so bad.”
She propped an arm on the counter and rested her chin on her hand, grinning like a Cheshire cat as she studied him. "Remind me never to sleep with you." She added in a wry tone as he burst out laughing again.
“Really now? Then you don’t know what you’re missing.”
It was her turn to explode with laughter, almost falling down from the bar stool if Zoro didn’t have half the mind to grab her arm and pull her towards him.
“I don’t think we will meet in the middle somehow…” Nami was still giggling so hard, even as she was almost draped on his lap. Slowly she righted herself up, lifting her head to give him a cheeky smile.
“Right.” Zoro made a tsk-ing sound. Though the smirk on his face betrayed the supposedly annoyed sound.
“Poor girls though,” she sing-songed.
Zoro merely fixed her with an inquisitive gaze.
“They'll never get to feast their eyes on you in all your naked glory with the lights off,” she teased him with an impish grin. “Damn, if that was me—”
“If it’s you, I’d leave the lights on Nami,” Zoro cut her off.
With that, he smoothly slid out of the bar stool and stood in front of her.
“Your face is heating up, is it something I said?” He remarked in a tone that was smug yet the smirk on his face was devilishly suggestive.
His lone grey eye raked over her body as her own grew as wide as saucers.
Then he turned away and sauntered towards where their nakama were still feasting.
And just like that he left her alone… with her words stuck inside her throat, her mind in a jumble as the heat that swiftly engulfed her face went spiraling down her body igniting every single nerve and setting her insides on fire when the realization of what he said finally struck her.
Her eyes settled on her still not finished drink. She swiftly grabbed it and guzzled it down, hoping the strong liquor might help bring her back to her senses.
Fuck!

Etymology
et·y·mol·o·gy (n.)
The study of a word's origin.
For Sanji, coming home is easier said than done.
(Or: Let’s talk about the Vinsmoke fiasco, shall we?)

Read Chapter 1 here. Content warning for panic attack(s) and unintentional self-harm. Special thanks to @ppitte for helping me wrangle the chaos that is Zoro and Sanji interacting!!
***
Wide, endless blue. The sun-warmed touch of wood under his palm. A breeze carrying the scent of tangerines and ocean salt.
Those are the things Sanji had dreamed of in hell. Not the two years he likes to refer as such – the Drag Queens , too, have aspirations like everyone else – but the one he didn’t think possible, crossing into reality via a bridge not burned thoroughly enough. A hell made of stone walls high enough to swallow the sea and the sky and the stars.
If, Sanji had thought, gaze fixed on the lonely moon above, if I make it out of here alive, I will let them know.
That every time he closes his eyes and dares to imagine a future, they are with him. That happiness is a smile under a straw hat, and love a home-cooked meal, and freedom a black flag in the wind, flying, flying.
Sanji lets out a long breath and watches smoke dissipate into nothingness. Turns out there is no such thing as second chances, not for someone like him.
*
He feels him coming long before soft, measured steps reach his ears.
“Cook.”
The Sunny stands still for the night; the anchor was dropped not too long ago, the lion’s claw resting peacefully on a shallow reef. Arms crossed on the railing, Sanji’s chin rests on the back of his hands and he watches as its colorful inhabitants swim up close to the ship and nip at polished Adam wood, their bioluminescence making the waves glint like silver.
“Fuck off. I’m not in the mood.”
A wasted effort, Sanji knows: The heavy presence behind him doesn’t shift, doesn’t go anywhere, persisting as it always has. The skin on Sanji’s back crawls with the need to turn around and make him.
“Mosshead”, Sanji says, a hiss and a warning in one.
“Hm?”
Unbothered, like Sanji didn’t speak at all.
The evening is mild, infused with residual heat from a sunny day just past. Sanji grinds his teeth hard enough the other will be able to hear it, a mere handful of paces away. “I mean it. Leave.”
Zoro scoffs, “Nah.” His boots creak as he takes another step, closer, and–
A streak of blurred motion and embers spark against the sleek black of Haki. Sanji gives him a grin that’s a joyless show of teeth and not much else; illuminated by fierce red, Zoro’s lips flatten into a tense line.
“I said”, Sanji growls, lets himself fall on his hands and twists, gains speed. “Fuck. Off.”
The hit connects, the force of a volcanic eruption meeting immovable steel and Sanji is close enough to see the fire’s glow reflect in the fathomless depth of Zoro’s eye, growing darker still–
Sanji makes to draw back but can’t, realizes in the split-second between shifting his weight on his palms and a sudden ache around his leg that it’s not a scabbard but Zoro’s hand that met the blow, fingers clawed, gripping, not letting go.
“I’m not fighting you.”
Of course. Because why would anything in Sanji’s fucked up life start making sense now?
The breath in Sanji’s lungs leaves his mouth a pissed off tch and he lets the flames flare, watches with righteous anger in his chest how Zoro inhales sharply and hesitates – to release him or be burned, and Sanji’s leg tugs free a moment later.
“Bastard. Going soft on me, are you?”
There’s no hesitation in his movements as Sanji turns on the tips of his fingers and strikes, again and again, snarling against the stoicism on Zoro’s face as the man’s hands don’t reach for his swords once. “That’s not it”, Zoro tells him like he’s stating the obvious, and it’s the simple kind of statement that pierces Sanji’s defenses and aims straight at his core.
The next kick draws blood, a neat scrape-and-burn across the scar on Zoro’s cheek, and Sanji’s gasp is louder than the low grunt that comes from Zoro.
Sanji’s feet hit the ground with dull, unbalanced thuds and he stares, wide-eyed, at the stray drops of crimson that pool and run down tan skin, near-black in the oncoming moonlight. The instinctive question – Are you alright? – remains unsaid, acidic where it sticks to Sanji’s tongue and his chest feels tight, tight.
“You done?”
There’s an air of indifference to Zoro’s voice but Sanji knows Zoro, can see the demon coiled within the man, straining to bite back. Zoro rolls his neck, hands flexing against the bruises smudging his skin as his Haki fades.
Sanji is lost, mouth slack and breath panting like it’s an army he just fought and not his friend. For a moment, he’s back on a field of endless green under cotton candy clouds, painting it red in uneven splatters as he kicks, and kicks, and kicks without resistance–
“Why?”, he rasps, voice trembling, utterly outside of his control. Sanji blinks and clenches his jaw, struggles to retain some of the anger in there somewhere. “Stop fucking around and fight back.”
“No.”
Zoro crosses his arms, wide open now, and his gaze is analytical as it tracks the way Sanji tenses and stays exactly where he is. That singular eye narrows, a bloodhound that caught a scent.
“I left you guys. I had a choice and I left.”
“You had your reasons”, Zoro says, calmly. He takes a step forward and Sanji takes one back, heart rattling wildly against the cage of his chest.
“I– I went after him, Zoro. I attacked my captain. I didn’t hold anything back.”
That makes Zoro’s lips twitch into a frown, displeased but not surprised and– Luffy talked, Sanji thinks and something inside him breaks just that little bit more.
“I know.” Yet Zoro’s swords stay sheathed. Another step closer. “Luffy’s wounds… There’s only one style I know that causes those and it’s yours.”
The railing presses against the small of Sanji’s back and he’s trapped, has no space to move and nowhere else to look but at Zoro and the cut that continues to bleed, dripping lazily onto Zoro’s shirt–
And Sanji can’t get enough air in his lungs, fingers tingling with numbness and spots dancing in front of his eyes and he’s aware, numbly, that he might pass out.
“Sanji.”
There are hands on his shoulders then, Zoro’s palms a solid-warm weight, squeezing, keeping him on his feet. “Hey”, he murmurs, low enough that Sanji knows it’s meant for him, just for him. “I need you to listen to me.”
Thoughts swirl and collide in Sanji’s head and nothing makes sense. He nods even though Zoro isn’t exactly asking – a jerky, helpless motion – and something in Zoro’s eye softens.
“Breathe, okay? Nothing’s going on. Nothing’s changed.”
He shakes Sanji, obviously trying to make a point. Even now it’s ridiculously gentle, coming from Zoro, and Sanji tries for him, he really does.
“At least not for us? You got your hackles all the way up these days, and it’s making everyone nervous as hell. Like–”
A quiet struggle with words ends in a huff, quick and gruff.
“I think Luffy is about a day away from melting down if you don’t start calling him a shitty rubber captain again – that sorta thing. And I don’t know what exactly happened on that island between you and him but he insists it’s done and over with. So, is it?”
Sanji is pinned by that gaze again, sharp and searching and trying to understand. He breathes and finds he can, chest heaving with it–
“I don’t know”, Sanji tells Zoro and it’s the truth, the words brittle like old bones. Sanji’s wrists burn and he scratches at them. “I thought I’d left all that Vinsmoke shit behind me but it keeps coming back. I don’t know if they’ll ever let me be.”
Zoro sighs, deeply. A breath Sanji feels against his skin and it occurs to him they’ve never been this close, not without being at each other’s throats at the same time.
“You fool. That’s not what I mean and you know it.”
“Listen to me, shithead”, Sanji snaps; he scratches, scratches. “It’s no joke. They know things about me, about all of us, and I wouldn’t have left if– This shit’s serious. Got it?”
“More serious than what, the Emperors? The fucking World Government? Fine. Let them come. I don’t care who those Vin-whatever people think they are, and you know Captain doesn’t either– Stop that.”
Faster than Sanji can anticipate, Zoro grabs his hand, snatches it away from his wrist and– Oh, it’s bleeding, Sanji realizes with a slow blink. His hand is bleeding.
“What are you, stupid or something?”
The rest of what Zoro mutters under his breath is lost to Sanji; before he can even think to pull away, Zoro is tugging at the bandana tied around his bicep. Fingers calloused and rough, he folds the fabric over the criss-crossing, bloody lines and ignores Sanji’s hiss of pain, grasp tightening further.
Making Sanji feel his frustration and weirdly, it’s that that makes the ground under Sanji’s legs feel solid again.
“Get out of your head already”, Zoro is saying, eye focused on the knot he’s tying against Sanji’s palm. Sanji… lets him. “Did you apologize to him or not?”
Or not. Indignation burns in Sanji’s gut at that and he knocks Zoro’s hands away, ignoring how soothing the bandana feels against the rawness of his skin.
“What the–! Of course I did. D’you think I’d even take a fucking step on Sunny if I hadn’t?!”
And Sanji sees the tension bleed right out of Zoro and in that moment he hates him a little. The swordsman rests one arm on Wado’s grip and scratches his stupidly green hair with the other, mildly annoyed now.
“Well, then. Snap out of it.”
Like it’s the one and only conclusion there is. Like an apology could ever make up any of the things Sanji did, what he put Luffy through, that he made Nami cry and scream for him to stop–
“It’s not that easy”, Sanji hisses, getting back in his face and Zoro meets him in the middle this time, growling:
“Good. It shouldn’t be. Suck it up and stop making everyone miserable.”
“Then stop keeping secrets from me!”
The shout is loud, shattering any pretense of privacy on a ship that’s been suspiciously quiet this entire time – especially by their standards – and Sanji doesn’t care. He’s done being blamed for something that can’t be entirely his fault, not when everyone was there when he got kicked out of his own damn galley. Not when he felt them all put their heads together the moment he was out of sight, like he wouldn’t notice, like Observation Haki isn’t a thing that exists.
And as much as he’s thought about it (and he has, for hours and hours and hours), Sanji doesn’t know why. Yes, he left and he hurt Luffy and he deserves it but why this? Why now?
Sanji is a Strawhat Pirate, he’s used to all things whimsical and idiotic and those have always made sense to him, before.
This just… It doesn’t, isn’t even anywhere near it. A location marked X beyond the borders of a map, where mythical creatures reside among nebulous lines – there’s simply no way for Sanji to get there, not without Luffy to guide him and Nami to make sure they stay on course and all the other things he’s taken for granted before all this happened.
“Or– Let me do my job, at least. Please.”
So this is Sanji, giving in. This is Sanji, standing chest to chest with Zoro and witnessing, up close and personal, how a look of sheer bewilderment blooms on his face. All it does is twist him further up inside until he feels like he’s going to throw up or maybe cry.
Sanji is far beyond tears, now.
“Let me cook”, he begs instead, with a desperation he won’t hide anymore because if there’s one thing Sanji needs Zoro to understand it’s this. “I know I’m a fuck-up but I’m a good chef. Let me have that.”
“Sanji–”
A hand is raised and Sanji doesn’t flinch as much as he holds his breath, the instinct to brace himself as inescapable as the blood that runs through his veins. Zoro stops and stares at him. Looking genuinely shaken as he inhales and opts to cross his arms in front of his chest.
“Look, just– Help me understand, ‘cause you lost me somewhere. Where is all of this coming from?”
Sanji just groans, “You’re lost? You were there”, runs a hand through his hair and forces himself to go back to square one, again.
“Earlier. Luffy, Nami, Robin, you. You were talking about something. Then you all looked at me. Then Luffy said–”
“Okay, stop. That, right there. That’s what this is about?!”
“I… Yes.”
It takes a few second for Zoro to stop gaping at Sanji and then he laughs, and Sanji’s gut drops in the same moment that blood rushes to his face. He thinks: Oh, I’m going to kill him.
“What. The hell. Mosshead.”
Zoro waves his hands, palm-up, gesturing for Sanji to wait and for some fucking reason he actually does, cheeks burning and knees weak with shame as he watches Zoro trying his damnedest not to crack up again.
“Sorry. No, I mean it, I really shouldn’t– But fuck, you should’ve just said so. Cook, it’s your birthday.”
What?
“What?”, Sanji voices the thought out loud, tone flat; Zoro tempers his grin to a close-lipped smile and says:
“Your birthday. It passed two days ago and we didn’t, uh. Well, we didn’t know ‘cause you never told us, actually. Robin figured it out somehow. March 2nd, right?”
“…What.”
“Yeah. That’s the big secret, you idiot.”
The insult is undeniably fond and Zoro sounds so relieved, like that one revelation will solve all of the world’s mysteries at once and it… kind of does? Or it will, once Sanji’s mind stops spinning because it’s his birthday.
That’s what they were whispering about. His birthday. The birthday of his brothers. The day Sanji has hated all of his life and hasn’t celebrated, not even once, since he left the Vinsmoke name behind.
Sanji swallows. His fingers itch for a smoke but Zoro’s bandana is still wrapped around his wrist and the guy hates the smell of his cigarettes.
“And Luffy…?”
Zoro just gives him a look, brow raised, eye glinting. “What do you think? Birthdays are important to him, you know that. Oh, which reminds me: It’s supposed to be a surprise. Don’t ruin it for them.”
It’s then that Sanji lets the railing take some of his weight because– “There’s a surprise.”
Amusement turns to frowned concern on Zoro’s face. “Why is all of this news to you? Robin’s was just last month. Franky’s is coming up. There’s always a surprise.”
“Shut up”, Sanji tells him but it’s weak and he knows it. “It just never applied to me before.” Another thing occurs to him, then:
“Wait. Did Luffy put you up to this?”
By this point, Zoro is looking at him with the same pitying disdain Trafalgar Law tends to wield against all of them and it’s rich, coming from someone who opens a book maybe once a decade.
“He told me to keep you busy, not give you a therapy session but same difference, I guess.”
Sanji huffs, “As if I’d ever take advice from a meat-headed idiot of all people”, and reaches for his pocket because Zoro deserves some cigarette smell after all.
Zoro eyes the newly-lit cig in his hand for a moment before joining him against the railing, close enough to brush shoulders. Sanji blows the smoke away from him and pretends not to notice.
“So. How long are we giving them, then?”
“Mh. Ten minutes?”
“Fine”, Sanji sighs. “What are they even making?”
“Do you even know what a surprise is?”
“Ha ha.” A bout of silence. Sanji smokes. “Luffy better not burn down my kitchen. Again.”
Zoro hums, giving the cook a side-long glance.
“He did promise to be careful, y’know.”
Sanji can’t help it: He smiles, just a little.
“Yeah, I know.”
*
Light spills from underneath the door onto deck and with it, the muffled sound of laughter and multiple voices talking all over each other. Sanji reaches for the handle and doesn’t let himself hesitate, not anymore.
It swings open on well-oiled hinges and reveals the galley in all its glory: Sanji lets his gaze roam from the bowls stacked precariously in the sink to the colorful sprinkles tossed all across the floor all the way to the group of people freezing in the middle of what could be reasonably described as a food fight.
Or, as Sanji knows, his crewmates’ valiant attempt to bake something without him.
The smell of sugar and raw cake batter is almost overpowering in this kitchen made small by way too many cooks. In the center of it all is the rubber idiot that is his captain, half of his face almost artistically covered in different kinds of frosting. The chef in Sanji can’t help but calculate just how many resources must’ve gone into keeping those sticky fingers he knows so well away from the multi-layered cake that manages to tower over them all (minus perhaps Franky).
“Sanji!”
It’s Luffy who calls out to him, all joyful and not at all bothered by the fact none of it is done as he yells, “Surprise!”, and the rest of the crew cheers with him. Even Nami, and Sanji catches her eyes across the room and her beautiful smile stays exactly where it is.
And it’s not quite forgiveness but an offer nonetheless: One Sanji would be a fool not to accept.
There is that look of hope on Luffy’s face again, the one that’s a question as much as it’s trying to be an answer as well. Behind Sanji, Zoro sighs a fond little breath now that his mission is accomplished and he steps past him to join their crew, glancing over his shoulder as if to ask, you coming?
Sanji takes it all in and his heart melts, dripping between his ribs to gather warmly in his stomach. “You assholes had me worried”, he tells them without any sort of bite, and Luffy smiles.
“But Sanji. Birthday meals are made by friends. It's the rules!”
It turns out to be the best damn cake Sanji has ever had.

May I please request Headcanons for Nami and Hancock where they broke up with their boyfriends to focus on their training but gets jealous when they see other people trying to flirt with them?
Of course!~ Thank you for the request! I’m sorry it’s kinda long, but I hope you still enjoy it. 😊
Tumblr media
Nami
Nami doesn’t want to break up with her boyfriend, but she knows it’s for the best. They both know that they need to train to get stronger and to become more adept at their skills, and so they mutually decide to go their separate ways until further notice.
They’re both on good terms after the breakup, so Nami feels glad that she didn’t break her boyfriend’s heart. She just knows that she needs to be at her prime at all times since her crew has been gaining more and more fame, and more fame means that they’re likely making more enemies.
After all, they never said that they wouldn’t get back together in the future, right? Nami wasn’t worried in the least. They had a strong bond and made the perfect couple, so surely, they’d resume their relationship once they were stronger.
A few days following the breakup, the Strawhats decide to stop at a small island to stock up on supplies and enjoy some time off of the Thousand Sunny. For Nami, this usually means shopping for new clothes and supplies to help her chart out her maps.
Once she’s finished her shopping, she decides to treat herself to a quick drink at a local bar, not expecting to see her fairly recent ex-boyfriend having a laugh and drinking with a group she’s never seen before.
He doesn’t seem to notice her, so with a shrug, Nami goes to the bartender to order a drink only to hear a cacophony of rambunctious laughter coming from a group of women. Annoyed, she decides to look over to find that the women were laughing at something her ex-boyfriend must have said.
Curious as to what was going on, she took a seat at a table that was fairly close to them but not close enough that her ex-boyfriend would notice her there. Straining her ears, she tried to listen in on what they were saying.
As she listened, she noticed that two of the girls were on either side of her ex-boyfriend, and one was clinging to his arm while the other had her hand on his thigh. Nami’s chest tightened at the sight, but she was more interested in how her ex-boyfriend would react.
Her ex-boyfriend doesn’t seem phased by it, however, and as the women continue to blatantly flirt with him at every opportunity, he continues to hold a rather normal conversation with the women as if they were nothing more than just casual friends.
Nevertheless, Nami was furious with questions and green with jealousy at the sight. What made those girls think they were good enough for him? Was he flirting with them before she got there? Does he find them attractive?
Stomping over there and demanding answers would have been too embarrassing for the navigator. She doesn’t want to look like the crazy ex-girlfriend. And how is she to know whether or not her ex-boyfriend actually likes having other women flirt with him? Was she not good enough?
She hates feeling jealous. In fact, it’s rare for her to display jealousy when she knows deep-down that she blows her competitors out of the water when it comes to more than just her looks.
Putting aside her feelings of jealousy and betrayal, Nami decided she’d turn the tables.
Men have been gawking at her the moment she stepped into the bar, and all she had to do was flash a cute smile and a friendly wave to one of the gawkers and he’d be at her side in seconds. So she does just that, and just as she had planned, the random bargoer was strutting his way toward her, drawing the attention of others.
As more and more men approach her to shower her in compliments and offer her free drinks, she glances over to her ex-boyfriend and watches his face as he undergoes a turmoil of emotions.
He’s out of his seat and walking towards her in a matter of seconds, and Nami knows that all of the answers to her previous question have been answered and her mind can finally be at ease. She knows she’s the only one for him.

 Boa Hancock
Boa Hancock has been feeling as though she’s gotten slower and weaker in recent fights against trespassers at Amazon Lily who were crafty enough to get to her, and she wonders if it’s because she’s too distracted with her current boyfriend.
She loves and cherishes him dearly, but she’s the Pirate Empress with a duty to protect the Kuja Pirates, Amazon Lily, and her beloved sisters. She can’t afford to slip up, so she makes a difficult decision to break up with her boyfriend.
During the interaction, Hancock is stern and forthright with him and the fact that her boyfriend is understanding to the situation makes things easier on her. After the conversation, she wants to break out into tears since she truly adores him, but she composes herself.
She offers who is now her ex-boyfriend freedom to stay at Amazon Lily for as long as he needed to, but to her worry, he declines her offer, saying that he might still be a distraction if he stays on the island.
The two say their good-bye’s as Hancock’s ex-boyfriend sets sail on a ship that she lent him. It’s hard for Hancock, but she has faith that the separation will only be temporary. Just long enough for her to train until she’s significantly stronger than before.
A couple of weeks pass since the separation, and Hancock decides to set sail with a band of Kuja Pirates in hopes of finding some other lowly pirates to test her strength on.
It’s not long before Hancock and her crew stumble across an unlucky ship and prepare for an attack. Once they’re close enough to the ship, she takes initiative by leaping from her own ship to the other pirate ship, landing with such swiftness and grace that it startles the pirate crew when they realize she’s there.
Before she has time to start her attack on the pirates, a familiar voice calls out to her and stops her in her place. It couldn’t be him… But maybe it was him?
Fixing her eyes on the source of the greeting, she’s absolutely delighted by the sight of her ex-boyfriend who’s perfectly alive and well. Breaking away from her previously cold exterior, she now carries a warm and sweet demeanor as she rushes to great him. But she stops.
Her ex-boyfriend is surrounded by the few women in the pirate crew, and the way they’re practically petting him and hanging off of him lights a raging fire deep within Hancock. How dare these low-lives lay a finger on him? Did they truly think they were worthy of his affection?
“I was shipwrecked and these guys were nice to give me a lift back to Amazon Lily,” he explains after noticing the fury within her eyes. Hancock focuses on his words and gets butterflies when she realizes that her ex-boyfriend wanted to come back to her island. Maybe he couldn’t stand to be away from her any longer?
Her face grows warm at the thought, but her blood instantly runs cold when she hears one of the women speak.
The woman makes an aggressive pass at Hancock’s beloved, followed by the next woman, then the next and the whole time Hancock’s ex-boyfriend carries on like it’s a normal conversation. He’s completely ignoring the fact that the women are flirting with him, and all the while, Hancock is shaking with rage as she approaches the group.
Fed up with the disgusting sight before her, Hancock politely asks her ex-boyfriend to get aboard her own ship to which he complies. As soon as the man is safely on her ship, Hancock lets loose.
She scolds the women for having been so promiscuous with her beloved and looks down on them with scorn, taking satisfaction in the way they cowered before her.
It only takes a few seconds for Hancock to turn the pirate crew into stone save for the women, and with frightening strength, she sinks the entire pirate ship before she’s back on her own ship and welcomed by her ex-boyfriend.
The only reason those women were still alive and flailing about in the wreckage was because it had to be known that Hancock is the only woman worthy of this man’s love.

Straw Hat Parent Headcannons
So while I was writing Sanji’s headcannons I was thinking about how much I love parent child relationships and now I can’t stop thinking about the Straw Hats as parents.
Luffy
The fun dad
He’d probably have oopsie babies
I’d be really poetic if Luffy had three sons, that’d make my little heart explode
He’d love playing with his kids but his poor S/O would probably have to make sure he wasn’t being too rough with them
Luffy would cry the first time he got to hold his child
I think he’d be really proud of all their milestones and brag on them
He’d teach his kid to steal food from Sanji for him
I can imagine him carrying his baby around in one of those chest pouches (??)
As his kid got older Luffy would probably let them do more dangerous activities, but I think he’d know where to draw the line
Not a super responsible parent, but still a good dad
Zoro
Probably encourages his kid to be athletic
Has a strict schedule for them especially when the kid is little
Zoro puts his toddler on one of those baby leashes so his kid doesn’t wander away from him
Papa Zoro is the best to nap with
He has the best dad hugs
Zoro is overprotective and a strict dad but he tries to let his kid be independent as they get older
I think Zoro would have a hard time with the idea of his kid growing up, like that's his baby and they’re getting older and going off and having their own life. He’d never admit that though
Zoro is kinda like a sports dad so I think he’d have a hard time connecting with his child if they were a book worm or just not all that athletic
His kid would probably be tasting alcohol at a young age, they’re first real drink would be a very proud moment for Zoro
Responsible parent, but a strict bean dad
Nami
THE WINE AUNT
Her kid is probably an accident, or adopted due to bad circumstances
I think due to her past Nami would be more likely to adopt a younger kid
I’m not sure Nami 100% would want a baby or a toddler, but a six year old would be better for her
I could imagine Nami being like Whitebeard where she just adopts an army of children and she’s just their mom
Any child of Nami’s would learn how to at least pickpocket people
She’d never let them get to far into harms way though
Nami’s babies would be frugal as all get out and be finance experts by the time their ten years old, I swear
As her kids got older I think Nami would be less patient with them and start getting real sassy with them about their life choices
Sanji
The most responsible dad out on the sea
Would not raise his kids the way he was raised, especially if their his daughters
His daughters are going to be precious princesses that much be protected at all times
He would of course love his kids no matter the gender (or lack of) they associated with
His kids would be taught to be well mannered at all times, manners are key to being successful
No toddlers in the kitchen it too dangerous
Carries his newborn child around in a baby sling?
Co sleeping at least for a few months
Every milestone is going to celebrated with cake and cookies and whatever else his baby wants
There will be tears
Usopp
He’s going to be a nervous wreck, oh my lord
“The baby won’t eat! What if they die!?”
“I’ve lost my child”
I cannot express how freaking stressed his going to be this poor boy
Usopp won’t have a leash or anything but he’s probably thought about
“I’m the Great Dad Usopp!”
Getting his kids to fall asleep is hard because he gets too excited with his stories, but he can always entertain them
Usopp would be stressed when his kid was a newborn, but when his kid starts walking that’d be a while new level of actual stress
He’d follow his toddler around the ship making sure they didn’t fall over board
Helicoper parent to the max
Probably a lot more chill when his kids get older though
Yasopp will get so many letters begging for advice
Chopper
His kid would probably a child he found that was really sick or injured that he got attached too
Chopper would be a worry wart but nowhere near as stressed as Usopp
At least every six months his kid would get a full body check up, just to be safe
He’d be sure his kid knows basic first aid and CPR
OHMY Matching hats; Chopper would totally try and let them have matching hats. Oh thats so cute
Chopper would 100% send a letter to Dr. Kureha that she’s a grandmother, this lady would totally cry
Chopper would try to dress his toddler up in little matching onsies a lot
I think he’d cry when his kid got taller than him, which wouldn’t take long but still
Robin
Please allow me to introduce the best parent of the entire crew
she’s already the mom friend so like it’s time for a baby
I’d adore a Frobin baby but if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen
Robin would read her child to sleep every night even if she just read them a history text book
Her kid would be able to read poneglys and when the got older Robin would recruit them to help her learn more about the ancient writing
I think Robin would be absolute elated to have a baby, but I think she could experience a bit of post partum depression
I think she’d be extra careful when her kid is young. Robin deeply fears losing her baby or passing away and her child has to live on without her
She doesn’t want the past to repeat itself and she’ll do everything in her power to protect her child
Her devil fruit lets Robin be the absolute master at tickle fights
Other than Sanji’s kid her child would be the most well behaved
Best parent on the crew hands down
Franky
Dad jokes thx
Franky would be all over his kids.
Everything his kids did would be worth celebrating. Each milestone woud be absolutely super
I can only imagine how much he’d purposefully embarrass his kids when they’re teenagers
Franky is crying all the time. His kid is born; crying. His kid starts walking; crying. His kids first word; crying. You get the picture
Franky would film his kid in shitty home videos all the time. ALL THE TIME.
He made a specialized baby pouch on his body so he could carry his child around
This kid will not have pants on. A pantless child will be running around the Sunny
Dad Franky is going to be giving his kids fun hairstyles on the daily
Probably the most involved Dad other than Usopp maybe

OP Secret Santa 2019 @opsecretsanta2019  For @nevermordor  Relationships: Usopp & Franky (platonic), hint of ZoLu in the background  Happy holidays!
Usopp, bent over his workshop table as he tinkered with spices and gunpowder, jumped at the BANG when something was slammed down in front of him. He looked up to see Franky, who stared at him for a moment before looking away, pouting.
“What?” he said at last. He looked down and pushed his things aside, picking up the paper Franky had slammed down. “A blank wanted poster? Thirty million beris? What is this?”
“The deer-kid’s birthday’s tomorrow, right?” Franky said, still looking away.
“Chopper? Yeah, what about it?” The crew had gone to great lengths to hide their presents from Chopper, since living on a ship together meant there weren’t many places to hide things. Fortunately, he didn’t suspect a thing, and as far as he knew all that was happening was that Sanji would bake him a cake.
“He’s pretty bummed about his bounty, right? I figured I’d make him a new poster. Thing is, I . . . how do I say this?”
“You don’t know what kind of pose or face he should be making?” Usopp said, looking up. “That’s easy! He—”
“That’s not it! I know exactly what I want it to look like!” Franky finally turned his head to look at Usopp again, scowling with pink cheeks. “I just can’t draw it.”
“Oh. I—hey, isn’t your face made of metal? How are you blushing?”
“Neat, isn’t it? I built in these thin pouches just below my face, which fill up with a reddening agent when my body temperature—”
“Never mind, never mind! So, what are you saying? You want me, the great artist, to teach you to draw?”
“Uh, yeah,” Franky said, deflating again. “Yeah. If you’re not busy?”
“Nope,” Usopp said, sweeping an arm out and knocking away his supplies. They fell onto the floor and smoke started rising from the wood. As he stomped on the flame, wincing, Usopp continued, “Where’s Chopper now? He can’t come down here while we’re working on this.”
“Playing in the snow with Strawhat and the swordsman,” Franky said. “I’m pretty sure they’ll keep him busy long enough to get this done.”
The cold weather had forced the Sunny to run into a large patch of slush, slowing their progress towards Sabaody but not halting it entirely. As such, the crew was taking it easy, their only necessary job currently being making sure the ship hadn’t frozen to the sea while they slept and they were still on course.
“Okay, that’s good,” Usopp said, nodding. He grinned and scooted aside, patting the spot next to him at the table, and Franky sat down. “I see you already have most of the poster drawn?”
“Of course,” Franky said, folding his arms. “Shapes and letters are easy.”
“Right, right. Now, let the master show you how it’s done!”
“Just start already!”
“What do you mean, you’ve never built a snowman?” Luffy demanded, placing his hands on his hips. “It was snowing all the time on Drum, wasn’t it? And you never built a snowman?”
“I don’t—what’s a snowman?” Chopper exclaimed, looking between him and Zoro. “Show me!”
“Oh, boy,” Zoro said with a sigh. “You have a lot to learn about the world.”
“Huh? Show me! Show me!”
“Okay!” Luffy exclaimed, pumping his fist in the air. “First, we’re gonna make a snowball!”
“Uh-huh?”
“Then, we do this!” Luffy dropped to his knees, scooped up snow, packed it together, and started rolling it around. The light snow falling around them ensured they wouldn’t run out anytime soon.
“Luffy, you’re too inefficient,” Zoro said, shaking his head. He took the ball from Luffy and started pushing it, running at top speed around the ship until it was about half his height. “See, that’s how you roll a snowman.”
“Zoro!” Chopper cheered, grinning. “You’re amazing!”
“Of course. Luffy, you do the head.”
“Let me help,” Chopper exclaimed. He and Luffy pushed the next snowball together, around and around until it was about half as large as the first one. “What now?”
“They’re really going at it now,” Nami remarked, peering out the kitchen window as Chopper jumped for joy and started building his own snowman. She sat back down at the table. “Sanji-kun, more hot chocolate.”
“Of course, my love,” Sanji crooned, scooping up the pot from the stove and pouring her another cupful.
“With whipped cream!”
“Yes, Nami-san!”
“How marvelous youth is, to waste your days away playing in the snow,” Brook said wistfully from the couch. “Alas, these old bones must rest today. Speaking of youth, where did Usopp-san and Franky-san get to?”
Robin, sitting across from Nami, closed her eyes. “They’re below deck, drawing something,” she said, opening them again. “Franky looks awfully serious.”
“More hot chocolate, Robin-chan?” Sanji offered.
“No, thank you.”
“Franky, Franky,” Nami said, sticking her tongue into her whipped cream and bringing a dollop back into her mouth. “Did he ever tell you how he picked that name?”
“Not exactly,” Robin said. “He mentioned everyone’s called him that since he was small, and I suppose he made the permanent change along with his body.”
“What about you?” Nami said.
“My name? My name was always Robin. I never had issues with it. I suppose I’m lucky, in that sense.” She smiled. “The Government never had to update the name on my bounty. It’s a shame . . . I would have loved to make things harder for them.”
Nami laughed, and Brook said, “Sanji-san, might I have another hot chocolate?”
“Yeah, yeah, just a fucking second!”
“People are too soft,” Franky complained as he erased yet more lines of a sketch, scowling and biting the end of his pencil.
“Huh?” Usopp said. “Is that some kind of statement on mankind?”
“No, I mean this drawing! Lines are hard, and people are soft!”
“Oh. Look, let’s go over it again.” Usopp leaned forward. “How about drawing the body first, and then the face?”
Franky sighed and rested his forehead against his hand. “Okay. Yeah.”
“Start with shapes. Do a circle for his head, and lines for his arms.”
Franky leaned over, drew the shapes, and leaned back again. “Easy.”
“Yeah! So, now draw on his hat. It’s more or less a cylinder surrounded by a raised circle.”
“Uh-huh?” Franky drew this in, and after a moment of thought added what showed of the X on the hat.
“Now for details.” Franky groaned. “Just listen! You go off of the shapes you drew, and make them softer. Lemme show you.” Usopp grabbed a spare piece of paper, sketched a circle, and sketched fuzz around it. “See? The fur sticks to your base shape.”
“Hmm?” Franky’s eyes lit up. “I think I get it!”
“Yeah? Yeah! Give it a go!”
“Wow!” Chopper exclaimed, looking around at the three snowmen he, Luffy, and Zoro had built—one for each of them. “That was so fun!”
“Playing in the snow is always fun!” Luffy said with a grin. He took off his hat and placed it on his snowman. “Now Mister Snowy’s warm.”
“Oh!” Chopper took off his own hat and put it on his snowman, which was around his height. “There we go!”
They looked at Zoro.
“What?” he said. “I don’t wear hats.”
“Use your earrings,” Luffy suggested.
“Isn’t the point to keep the snowman warm? How would earrings help?”
“Give him your jacket?” Chopper said.
“Don’t wanna.”
“Then I’ll warm up Zoro-snowman,” Luffy announced.
“His name is Zoro-man.”
Luffy leaned in and kissed the snowman on the cheek. “There, he’s warm now,” he said.
“Don’t I get one?” Zoro muttered.
“Anybody wanna play strip poker?” Nami asked, running her finger around the rim of her empty mug.
“With you? I’ll pass,” Robin said.
“Yes, please,” Sanji and Brook said together, hurrying to the table. Robin rolled her eyes and went to sit on the couch, curling up with her legs underneath her.
Nami pulled out a deck of cards from her pocket and handed them to Sanji. “Shuffle,” she ordered.
“I really think I got it this time,” Franky said, the lamplight burning low as he examined his inked drawing. He held it up to Usopp. “Right? Didn’t I?”
“You did!” Usopp exclaimed, grinning. “That looks just like him! Now you just need to color it!”
“I’ll let the ink dry first,” Franky said. He held up his hand, and Usopp high-fived him and winced. Franky set some weights on the paper to keep it in place on the table before standing and yanking Usopp to his feet. “Let’s see what curly’s got cookin’ for dinner!”
They came up to the deck and found Zoro picking up Chopper. “Hey,” he said, seeing them. “We were about to go in.”
“I’m hungry,” Luffy announced.
“Of course you are,” Usopp said. “Is Chopper okay?”
“Just tired,” Chopper said into Zoro’s shoulder.
“Come on, let’s go,” Zoro said.
When they entered the kitchen, they found Robin asleep on the couch, Sanji stripped down to his underwear, Brook stripped to his bones, and Nami fully clothed, putting away a deck of cards.
“D-Dinner’s . . . almost ready,” Sanji said, shivering.
“Huh?” Chopper said, looking at the roll of paper. He had cried when the crew surprised him with gifts, and was sitting in the kitchen among his new treasures, which included a new book from Robin and a superhero mask and cape from Usopp. “Franky, this one’s from you? It’s a sheet of paper?”
“Unroll it,” Franky insisted.
Chopper let the paper unroll itself, stared at it, and gasped. “It’s a new bounty!” he exclaimed. “Look, look! Thirty million!”
His picture showed him with a proud grin facing the camera, his arms folded and brow furrowed in determination. It was expertly colored and inked, and though the drawing showed hints of amateurism, Chopper didn’t seem to notice as he excitedly showed it off to the crew.
“Franky, you made that?” Luffy exclaimed. “That’s awesome! Maybe the Marines’ll see it and update your bounty for real!”
“You think?” Chopper said, delighted. “Franky, thanks so much! It’s super!”
“Aw, no problem!” Franky said, grinning. “Usopp helped a little, to be honest . . .”
Usopp punched his arm and winced. Franky slapped him on the back, making his knees buckle.
“I’m gonna go hang this up in the bedroom,” Chopper announced, standing. “This is my favorite birthday!”

Can you do a scenario for Law realizes he's in love with a female pirate that everytime Law goes and talk to her he messes up or embarrass himself. His crew, the straw hats, white beard and red hair shanks crew knows about this and tries to help him but makes it worse (like giving him wrong ideas etc.) But in the end they find out she feels the same way. Law finally gets to be with her, also add a rough NSFW please
Hellooooo!~ Thank you for waiting for this one! I ended up kinda getting away from the original request, I think, and I left out the Whitebeard and Red Haired pirates (I just couldn’t figure out how to fit them in there), but it just kept going and going and eventually I had this super long monstrosity haha but it’s still pretty close to what you requested, so I hope you enjoy it! I worked really hard on it! 😁
Tumblr media
He hadn’t expected to see her again.
It would’ve been easier if he hadn’t.
Instead, Law now had to deal with being in close proximity with someone who made him...feel things. As if being stuck on an island with the absolutely insane Straw Hat Pirates wasn’t enough.
Still, he figured he could do a decent job of avoiding all of them, and promptly gave the order to his crew that he was not to be disturbed, and then shut himself in the infirmary of the Polar Tang until further notice.
That only worked for about three hours.
Law was just cleaning up from one of his many planned experiments for that weekend when the unmistakable sound of FLIP FLOP FLIP FLOP came sounding down the hall. He groaned, head in his hands, as Straw Hat’s shout of “TORAO!! COME OUT HERE! WHATCHA HIDING FOR?!” came through the door, accompanied by a flurry of harsh knocks. His crew were gonna get it.
“Ah! There you are! Come on, Torao, you gotta check this place out! There’s so many other pirates here, and there’s FOOD!!” Law sighed as he let Luffy drag him back outside, noting Shachi, Penguin, and Bepo standing nearby, looking away from him, whistling into the air.
Traitors.
Luffy continued to rattle things off about their location, not that Law was listening. He was, unfortunately, used to this by now and knew fighting it was futile. As long as they steered clear of her, he could handle it.
Fate obviously hated him.
As Luffy pulled him to the feast he’d mentioned, Law’s eyes locked on a familiar female pirate, his gut immediately doing flip flops in a way that made him sick, and he hated it. But he was too late to pretend he hadn’t noticed her because there she was, waving at him with a small smile on her face that did nothing to stop the heat creeping over Law’s entire body. Instead of responding, he jerked his face away from her, looking instead at the group Luffy had pulled him to.
Ever since their alliance, the Straw Hats and the Heart Pirates had gotten along rather well; and despite Law’s statements that he did not consider them friends, everyone knew it wasn’t true; including him. Not that that ever stopped him from denying it. Loudly. Finally pulling his arm free from the other captain’s grasp, Law angrily sat amongst the group, remaining stoic despite the friendly chatter surrounding him.
On occasion he’d glance up, catching glances of her here and there, unable to help himself. Something about the way she was with her own crew, laughing and joking, kept him transfixed, even to the point that he failed to realize his present company had noticed where his attention was.
Out of the corner of his eye, Law saw Luffy’s face stretched into an impossible grin, snickering in his direction. Raising a brow, Law leaned back to get away from the rubbery man, noticing the rest of the Straw Hats giving him some strangely amused looks.
“What?” He barked out. Luffy snickered some more.
“You like her don’t ya, Torao? You keep looking over there!” Great. Even Luffy of all people noticed. This was getting out of hand.
“Of course not, you idiot!” Law ground out, pushing Luffy away, ignoring the laughter coming from the people around him. He felt his face start to heat up, wishing he’d locked the door to the submarine earlier so he wouldn’t be in this mess right now.
“Hmhmhm Torao-kun, you should go talk to her,” Nico Robin told him with a soft smile, drawing agreement from the rest of her crew, as well as his own.
“Yeah, Captain! Go get laid!” Came Shachi’s voice beside him, before Penguin smacked his head into the floor snapping “idiot!” Law rubbed the bridge of his nose, trying to stem the migraine that was forming.
“No,” he said, leaving no room for argument.
The Straw Hats apparently didn’t realize that.
“Ahh need help, eh? Well, as a woman I’ll help you out, but it’ll cost you!” Nami told him, eyes mysteriously shaped like Beli signs. “I’ll even give you a discount! How’s 300,000 Beli sound?”
“No!” He said, a little more forcefully this time.
“Hm, Torao, you should woo the lady with a home cooked meal! No better way to reach a lady’s heart,” Sanji advised, though his eyes were on said lady, who somehow hadn’t overheard any of this yet despite them making no efforts to be quiet about it. The Heart Pirates burst out laughing.
“Haha! Cap can’t cook! He’d kill the poor thing!” Law glared at them, devising some new punishment for when they set sail again to get back at his friends for their teasing.
“THEN I SHALL WOO THE LADY MYSELF!” Sanji yelled, eyes forming into full hearts as he swooned around their group. Law found himself wishing the floor would swallow him whole. This was the last time he ever hung out with anyone. Ever.
“Noooo! Just give her meat, Torao! Everybody likes meat!”
“That doesn’t work on everybody, idiot!”
“I’ll go over and talk you up, Torao! No one can resist a story by me, ‘brave warrior of the sea’, Usopp!”
“She’s SUPER cute, definitely go talk to her!”
“Captain, do you think she knows any female bears?”
“THAT’S WHAT YOU’RE CONCERNED ABOUT?!”
“Ask to see her pant-AHH!”
“STOP ASKING PEOPLE THAT!!”
With each new sentence thrown at him, Law could feel his headache grow, his brows twitching in annoyance until finally he couldn’t stop himself from standing up and shouting, “I DON’T NEED YOUR HELP!”
“Help with what?” Came an innocent voice from behind him. Law felt the color drain from his face as he turned around to see her standing there, eyes shining up at him with curiosity. He stood there staring at her, not sure if there was anything he could say that would make this situation easier on him.
He was going to kill every single one of them.
“Ok then,” she laughed when he didn’t answer her. “Trafalgar Law, right? I believe we’ve met before?”
He gulped, once again contemplating the possibility of the floor becoming very hungry for vaguely Trafalgar-Law-Shaped things, but unfortunately that didn’t seem to be happening any time soon. “I don’t keep track of everyone I come across.” He said rather bluntly, pleased that no matter how much of a mess he was on the inside, that didn’t reflect in his words.
“Well if it jogs your memory, you ended up getting us out of a bind with some Marines quite a ways back. Pretty sure it was on accident, but thanks nonetheless. Of course, you also took something of my captain’s, so I should be gutting you where you stand right now.”
He, of course, remembered the entire interaction. Both pirate crews had come across a rather large Marine warship, though by the time Law got there, her ship was about to be boarded. He was still on his way to becoming a Warlord at the time, and so used the opportunity to dispatch the Marines and take the captain’s heart, adding it to his collection until he could turn them in for the Warlord’s open spot. She’d tried to fight him for it, at the time, challenging him for her captain, and crew’s, honor. He’d merely gone back to his sub and left, using his devil fruit for a quick getaway, but she’d left an impression that he couldn’t get out of his head. Things would’ve been easier if they’d never crossed paths again, he thought, but even after all this time his infatuation with her had only grown. It didn’t help that he’d poured over her wanted posters as they popped up in the newspapers, but it seemed like no matter what he did, she wouldn’t leave his head, nor would those sparkling eyes of hers daring him to take her on, despite having known who he was.
He didn’t tell her any of this of course, the floor wasn’t quite ready to eat him alive just yet.
“So why aren’t you?” He asked instead, genuinely curious though trying not to let that on. A fight with her would be a shame.
“Eh, he was a shitty captain,” She said rather nonchalantly, shrugging her shoulders as if it was a fact. He had to agree to some extent; from what he remembered, her captain had all but handed his heart over himself. “Got someone much better in charge now.”
“Then you’re doubly welcome,” Law said, ignoring the many eyes piercing his back as they watched them talk. He was surprised at how easy this was so far, but he still didn’t want to do this with them all watching.
Not that he really planned on continuing the conversation at this point. He figured they were done.
“Hey, you wanna go for a walk or something? You seem like you could use some air,” She offered, expression completely innocent, though he was floored that she could read him that well after only brief meetings. He could still feel the others’ eyes burning holes in his back, could practically hear them urging him on; so Law gave a great sigh as if it was a huge inconvenience to him, and nodded, following her away from the crowd.
Once away from the group, he found it was actually easy to be near her. They didn’t talk, merely walked in companionable silence, exploring the area that was apparently very popular for pirates.
“You know, I saw you looking at me before,” she said, causing his breath to hitch just ever so slightly in alarm at having been caught. Dammit.
“I was looking at everyone. Better to assess a situation before any shit hits the fan.”
“See, I’d believe you if you hadn’t kept looking at me,” she laughed, not seeming at all upset by it. He raised a brow at her, trying to figure out what game she was playing. She just continued to stare back at him with those eyes that made heat flush through his body. “It’s ok, you know. I was looking at you too.”
That actually made him pause, staring at her as he short-circuited, unsure how to proceed. Oh sure, he’d slept with plenty of people in the past, but he’d never felt anything for them. If all he wanted to do was “get laid”, as Shachi put it, this would’ve been no sweat.
Damn feelings, making everything so complicated.
“Were you looking to try challenging me again?”
“Ha! I knew you remembered me!” Fuck, he’d slipped up. He could no longer call himself neutral in this. He stood rooted to the spot as he tried to come up with a response that wouldn’t give himself away completely. “But no, I just thought you were pretty cute.”
“Cute?!” She nearly collapsed in a fit of giggles, leaning against a tree for support. Law regarded her for a moment, trying to decide if she was telling the truth or if this was all some weird trick to get back at him for taking her captain’s heart. He stepped closer to her; before she realized it he’d trapped her against the tree, leaving no room for escape. She looked up at him, cheeks flushed, eyes smoldering in a way that mirrored his own expression. “Cute, hm, Name-ya?”
She smirked, “You even know my name, hm?” Law didn’t respond, instead capturing her lips with his own as he pinned her against the tree, her hands reaching around his neck to settle in his dark hair. Her touch on his skin was electric, sending shocks through him at every tug at his scalp; his own hands grasped at her hips, touching the bare skin under her shirt and sending shivers down her spine. He waited a moment for her to protest, and when she didn’t he slid his hands higher, cupping her breasts through her bra under her shirt.
He slid one hand under the bra, kneading the flesh there and eliciting delicious moans from the girl in front of him, while his other hand travelled to the front of her pants, playing with the button and zipper for a second before slipping his hand down the front of her jeans. He smirked against her lips as she gasped, bucking against his hand as he reached between her legs, playing with the sensitive skin there. Law moved his head, kissing under her jaw down to her shoulder, relishing in the sounds she was making, glad that they’d moved far enough away from everyone that no one could hear what was going on.
He groaned as he felt one of her hands brush against the outside of his jeans, having grown hard before he even realized it. His body wanted her touch, craved it like he hadn’t craved another person before, but he didn’t want to rush through this. His hands slid away from her body, causing a small, but arousing, whine to fall from her lips as he grasped her shoulders, spinning her around and pressing her against the tree once more.
Law pulled her jeans down around her thighs, just enough for him to get a good view of her ass, before resuming his ministrations from before; one hand on her breast, the other between her legs, as he pressed his clothed erection against her behind. At this point, all she could do was hold herself up, her legs trembling as he worked her near climax. As her moans grew in pitch, slowly turning into cries of pleasure, he slowed, causing her to rock her hips against his hand in hopes of keeping the same pace he’d had. Instead, he pulled away, peeling his jacket off and laying it on the ground, then pulling his jeans open, allowing his member free as she turned around to face him again.
Her cheeks were a gorgeous shade of red, her eyes glazed over in lust despite him having cut her off before orgasm. He gave her another searing kiss, guiding her to her knees to kneel in front of him on his jacket. She didn’t need any further instruction, taking him fully into her mouth almost immediately, to his surprise. His hands wound into her hair, pulling her head back in a way that let him control the pace for now. She looked him straight in the eye as he did so, causing his arousal to grow even more. A quick glance over her body showed him something he didn’t expect: she was touching herself while she sucked him off, apparently still peeved that he hadn’t finished what he’d started yet.
That wouldn’t do.
He pulled her off him, surprising her at how sudden it was, then flipped her around before grabbing a condom from his pocket, though not putting it on yet. He pushed her down by the shoulders, keeping her on her knees as he knelt by her, teasing her clit once again with his fingers. She rocked against his hand, all but begging for release, but he wasn’t quite ready to give it to her yet.
“Patience, Name-ya,” Law said, smirking against her hip as he lay kisses along her skin, nearing her clit but not close enough.
“Oh fuck you,” she whimpered, eliciting a low chuckle from him as he kissed her inner thigh, causing her to bite her lip.
“How bad do you want it, Name-ya?” He drew his tongue over her clit, to her opening, in one slow, agonizing stroke, cause her to clench up and let out a whine that almost made him give up control right then and there. He wanted to taste more of her.
“Please, oh please,” she begged easily. “I want it so bad. Please just make me cum.” He groaned, not expecting such an earnest request, but more than happy to oblige. Law lapped at her pussy a few more times, savoring every sound she made, before leaning back to put the condom on. He knelt behind her, teasing her with his cock for only a moment before entering swiftly and easily, letting out a satisfied sigh at the feeling.
Law began slow at first, letting her get used to him, then picked up the pace as he drove into her, pushing her face into the fabric of his coat, muffling every cry she made. Which was probably just as well, as he wanted to avoid anyone walking in on this. He knew they both were close, and it wasn’t long before he felt her walls clench around him. He leaned forward, mouth at her shoulder as he thrust only a few more times and came himself, groaning into her skin, their sweat mixing as they lay against each other, panting for breath.
He pulled out of her with a deep breath, suddenly exhausted. They got redressed in silence, not even looking at each other until Law couldn’t find his hat. Turning towards her, he found it in her hands, but what was more surprising was the smile on her face. It was...shy, almost embarrassed, and he worried what that meant about what just occurred.
“Here,” She said, handing his hat to him. “Umm, this is probably going to sound stupid but...I’d like to see you again. Not just to do that, though that was enjoyable, but...I dunno, I’d like to spend time with you. If that’s ok. I totally understand if not.” She wouldn’t look at him, and his eyes widened at what she was saying.
“...I’d like that,” He was more surprised that he meant it.
It may not be how normal relationships started out, but he supposed, he wasn’t exactly normal.
“Definitely cute,” he heard her giggle beside him. Law smirked, kissing her one last time to shut her up, before they headed back to their respective crews.
