like i'm so fucking ill about it. the (shipped) gold standard was the last song they needed to play to have performed every single song off of folie à deux live at least once. the record that has caused them the most pain. the one that they avoided like the plague for over a decade after its release, save for i don't care and the occasional instances of disloyal order, what a catch, or 20 dollar nose bleed when they toured with panic! that one time. the one that patrick wouldn't even talk about, for the longest time. it got them booed visciously, it got them dissected by critics, it got them pelted with garbage and glowsticks at shows, it got them stressed and strained to the point of needing to pause all efforts as a band to make sure they could still stay FRIENDS in the wake of it, and now it is the only fall out boy record that they have played 100% of, INCLUDING lullabye and fucking pavlove. and the last song left was (shipped).

they don't meet in-game but could you imagine.

v2, a product made not to fight for but as a result of the war, for the cause of peace for protection for security for humanity, to live alongside them but was a prototype which means they might not have gotten to fulfill their purpose that much nor would they know what humanity used to be like before the remains of the war. in its wake only left destruction and death and etc. Even as the new peace was established what was left? and now in hell after v1 defeats it they target machines using violence steering away from what they were meant to be and do.

our ferryman, who might not have even experienced the said war, who was already in hell during it and saw the final remains of humanity come pouring down into the river styx until it was fed and fed and fed until it grew into an ocean.. their boat looks aged and old, it doesn't look very modern (albeit the timeline isnt the same as ours) i don't think during the war there would've been environments to paint or sculpt or etc so she likely got to see the world before the skies were littered with bombs and the sun was choked out by smoke and decay. The environment in their vessel is cozy and radiates warmth, a warmth likely experienced before their death, they're like a sort of remnant of the past and their books could tell tales of what the world used to be (along with their own storytelling) and yet they hate it. this humanity plagues them, holds them from being truly divine, but it's in their nature as much as they despise it.

they hate it. they hate it so much. but v2 cant help but revere in it as the ferryman unconsciously lets the abundance of love and humanity inside them steer their actions. If anything they're already divine in some sense, that very humanity defines them and it'd hate to see them hide it away for the sake of being holy.

they don't even need v2's protection, their ferry is in good hands and their hands have been stained with blood time and time again, but it stays by their side anyway and doesn't give her a set destination to depart at as they've already found it.

im not even kidding you guys, the best thing for Crowley after all this is just for him to be a girl Dad. Go find himself the weirdest most unhinged least likely up for adoption daughter to dump all his love onto. One who thinks snakes are awesome and who screeches happily when Crowley drives too fast and who thinks her Dad's the absolute coolest person on or off earth. She'll constantly be stealing his sunglasses or demanding her own pair so they match. No doubt she's obsessed with fungus and she probably draws the most fucked up stuff that Crowley then hangs around the flat, and she'll yell at the plants too with her hands on her hips. On nights after goofy dinners, Crowley will hoist her up on his shoulders and help her accurately place the glow-in-the-dark stars on her ceiling and softly answer every question she ever has. And it won't even phase her when sometimes her Dad is her Mom or her Parent for a while or vice versa. And she'll be ready to full on throw hands with anyone who gives her Dad sad-face. She probably ends up biting Aziraphale when he eventually staggers back into the picture, and the Angel will have to contend with the fury of a real hellion for a while before she trusts him enough to let him anywhere near Crowley. Also i think her name should be Hanna.

So watching the newest Spy x Family, I see everyone squealing over Uncle Franky (don’t get me wrong I am too) but I also think his outsider’s perspective is kind of sad. When Anya is waiting for Yor and Loid to get home, the line he says there struck me.

“Hey, do you like your mom and dad?”

Like that’s a weird question to ask a young child who, hopefully, should love their parents. But Franky I think is acutely aware that they aren’t Anya’s real parents and the Forger family is fake. Franky has worked with Twilight for years, knows him very well and has presumably seen him make and drop identities like one would an article of clothes. We’ve even had Franky directly accusing Loid of being too clinical, focusing only the mission. I think Franky believes that once Operation Strix is completed, that he’ll leave and Anya and move on to the next assignment.

 I think that idea has colored a lot of Franky’s interactions with Anya. Yes, he’s also a big kid and wants to run around and be silly. But I also believe he’s trying to give this girl a sense of happiness and family presumably before she’s dropped off at the nearest orphanage once her usefulness is outlived. Like we all know Loid is catching feels but he’s a Good Actor and it might not be readily apparent to his coworker. Idk it must be so sad for Franky to watch this little family interact, to sweep up a child so clearly desperate for love and family in a spy operation, only to realize it won’t last.
