Sunflowers

The wind was gentle as it swept across a field. Bringing the fresh scent of dew.

Gwen laid peacefully on her back, letting the rays of the sun splay on her brown skin. She lay on a blanket the remnant of a picnic laid out beside her. And sunflowers stretched out before her offering shade.

It wasn't often she would get a break from everything. Sure, Morgana would often give her some time off.

Though never meant Gwen was done working. She still had to maintain her father's business. And watch Ms. Warther's children as she made her way to her late husband's grave.

Then she would have to help Arthur search for Merlin. Convincing the prince, she had no idea where the other man was.

At the end of it all, she was left exhausted and had little to no time for herself.

But today?

Morgana shooed her off like normal, and Elyan was already there by the time Gwen made it back home. Ms. Warthers had finally been ready to take her kids with her to the grave.

The thing that made her suspicious though, was Merlin. She had been getting ready for the prince to find her, looking for the man.

Only, Merlin found her instead. The was a goofy grin on his face, goofier than usual. He didn't say anything as he quickly shoved a basket into her arms. Before she could get a word out, Arthur comes from around a corner.

And he gives Gwen a key to the stables and drags Merlin off.

She was on a horse as soon as she figured out what they had done.
