Because we are moving, I've been rewatching Supernatural while packing and I've decided i want to make a list of the episodes that i actually like (meaning that I actually like what I'm watching).

Episode 1 'Pilot' - Minus the intro, i usually skip that

Episode 5 'Bloody Mary' - I used to be terrified of this ep. But the way the boys are so soft and comforting towards the girls. (and Mary is pretty)

Episode 7 'Hook Man' - Love me some hook man. and the black shirt and brown jacket combo on Dean *chefs kiss*

Episode 12 'Faith' - Dean is just really attractive to me i this ep, he's so sick and pathetic looking and i love it... THE HOODIE

Episode 17 'Hell House' - AHDHGDGDHGDHBGDGDCVGDCB PRANK WARS!!!!!!

Episode 19 'Provenance' - Idk why "HOLY, BLONDE, CHEERLEADER, BATMAN" < I quote that so so much

The Voice In My Earpiece Thinks You’re an Idiot by @kerryweaverlesbian with art by bakh-meliorism (Jo Harvelle/Bela Talbot, E) Bela's after the score of a lifetime, but she's got one problem; it's a  two person job. Good thing she met Jo, who wants it too. Too bad Jo  brings some problems of her own: first, she's got a secret, and a big  one. Second, she's a total amateur. And third, Bela might just be  falling a little bit in love with her. A Jo/Bela heist fic!

7. Adapt to Change by @sitruunavohveli with art by @deancodedcastielenby (Charlie Bradbury/Mary Winchester, E) When Charlie and Mary meet, one is scared to go back to hunting after a close call and the other is confused by the modern world she finds herself in. Despite their different skill sets and personalities, they enjoy each other’s company, and if Charlie also happens to find Mary incredibly attractive, she’s never going to mention it to Mary. And then Mary asks Charlie to join her on a hunting trip.

8. I’ll Still Feel the Pull of You by allthismusic with art by RapsCallion (Claire Novak/Kaia Nieves, E) After a fight about Claire’s dangerous lifestyle, Claire doesn’t think she’ll ever see Kaia again. But when the Winchesters tell her their plan to rescue Castiel from the Empty, and they tell her she’ll need someone to call her back from the void, she knows who she must ask. A road trip brings her to Kaia’s door, and the drive back brings them closer together. And when Claire goes into the Empty on a mission to find an angel, she knows that waiting for her back in the bunker is the one person she’ll do anything to find her way home to.

9. The Red Means I Love You by @father-salmon with art by @squirrelofcelestialintent (Claire Novak/Kaia Nieves, E) Claire is The Grigori, Idaho’s most unpredictable serial killer. Kaia is Dreamwalker, a whisper in the winds of those who know their game. One fueled by a need to cope with her father’s death, the other, revenge for those in the Teen Wilderness Industry, both end up drawn to each other at the oak tree Claire laid claim to. The killers, though wary of each other, begin to form a friendship with the promise of something more, but are careful to keep their identities secret. Overwhelmed with grief, she encounters multiple women who promise to help her avenge her father, to find new purpose, to come into her own power--but there's always a catch. Title is a reference to the 18th century erotic novel Justine wherein bad things Just Keep Happening to the virtuous heroine. Claire gets a much more hopeful ending. Also featuring Dean Winchester, in the background, who just wants his clothes back.

What I do find interesting about the Jo/Dean will they won’t they thing is that it encapsulates a problem the female characters in the spn world face*:

There are women worthy of respect (wives and mothers) and women unworthy of respect (bitches and whores). Dean** (ideal masculine man etc) can kill bitches and fuck whores. He can love mothers and wives, but due to his status as a lone Wolf and strong man, he can’t have meaningful relationships with them lest he stops being lone and strong, so there is a barrier that has to be upheld via death and/or heartbreak.

There is an additional category of woman, the Capable Woman, who’s blurring those lines by being worthy of respect but also fuckable. Those characters have to be masculine to some extend to explain why they’re capable, but that capability (and “masculinity”) makes them unworthy of the wife status (who has to be an object worthy of protection) and demotes them to the buddy or sister category. So they’re lovable (wife material) but also masculine (not wife material, hence sister). Fuckable but not enough to not be respectable.

That problem has to be solved somehow, and it usually is by killing her off (as usual). But for the moment where she’s alive and capable (almost capable enough to be equal to the man!), she hovers uncomfortably between categories. Sister you’d like to fuck. Bitch you respect too much to fuck.***

-Eleanor Guthrie & Max from Black Sails. Mirel Wagner’s “What Love Looks Like” was the first that came to mind. PERFECT for their breakup, IMO (“this pain I breath / has poisoned me / dreamt a dream / now I’m spitting bitter tears”). But. I won’t lie. Immediately afterwards I thought of Donna Summer’s “Bad Girls” , which I’ve been listening to on a loop this week. Err. Take it as a pre-show established relationship thingy that highlights a messed up, rarely talked about aspect of their relationship? -Lyra Silvertongue & Will Parry from His Dark Materials. -Caroline Forbes & Klaus Mikaelson from The Vampire Diaries. I’m specifying that one show, and focusing on the early days, because TO had a progression that definitely doesn’t fit the song that came to mind LOL: Alanis Morissette’s “Uninvited” (“like anyone would be / I am flattered by your fascination with me / like any hot blooded woman / I have simply wanted an object to crave / but you, you’re not allowed / you’re uninvited / an unfortunate slight“)... yeah xDD

-Bela Talbot & Dean Winchester from Supernatural. I keep thinking of them thanks to, of all things, this gifset of Lilah and Wesley in Angel (which is also making me want to rewatch the season 4 finale and cry about it, btw). I’m faaaar better at coming up with solo Bela songs than with Deanbela songs, I can’t lie xD (some of them work for both of them since the similarities are there, but not exactly for their dynamic iykwim). But, I mean. I don’t think I can’t resist picking Siouxsie and the Banshee’s “Face to Face”. It’s the Batcat song! It's late and I had a bad idea so naturally I have to make it everyone else's problem.

Sanders Sides/Supernatural AU

Disclaimer, I haven't watched the whole series, I've seen like a 1/3 of it, but I did say at the start that this was a bad idea so with that we have:

Patton as Garth. I will be taking no further suggestions or criticism on this. Also I feel like this needs no explanation, but I can provide it if asked for.

Next we have Logan as Cas. Yes, this partial due to the blue tie, but also the "done with your crap" attitude, and misunderstanding of modern slang. This one will also remain unchanged.

Continuing on in the category of "No, I will not be taking criticism." We have Roman as Dean. This is by and large due to the self worth issues, being blind to his own mistreatment, and being loyal to fault to what he has been raised to believe is right, without question.

Now to Remus. Remus has two options. One is obviously Sam because of the brother role, but also the fitting of being the outcast brother, who refused to follow the "family buisness" and at least made an attempt to get out and do his own thing.

The other option for Remus is Gabriel. Because that's just hilarious to me.

Next we come to Janus. Now hear me out on this one. I'm going to put Janus as Bobby. Yes, this is partially due the iconic hat looks, but also the sheer amounts of sass and ridiculous amounts on knowledge.

The other option for Janus is Bela. And that's more the aesthetic than anything.

Now Virgil is a tough one in all this. One the one hand if I cast Remus as Gabriel I could put Virgil in as Sam and play into the tense relationship Roman and Virgil have at the start, and Virgil struggling to feel like he fits in, like Sam and feeling like the black sheep of the family.

The other three I considered for Virgil were Jodie, Rufus, and Kevin. And yes, I realize Kevin makes more sense with Logan, but I do love the idea of Virgil shooting the king of hell with a super soaker full of holy water. (And on that note, yes, I did consider Janus as Crowley, I like him better as Bobby though, fight me.)

Thomas is Charlie just because I think that's hilarious.

This one is one I took very seriously and I think it paid off. Dean gets locked out of his own body and experiences dissociation, with moments of respite when he's able to hitch a lift. It has silly jokes in it also. I'm especially pleased with how many different ways I came up with for voiceless ghost Dean to communicate! With a lighthearted horny sequel because I had initally planned the first part to be that and then Dean kept getting upset lmao.
