My 4 hottest Despair Time takes. (Spoilers alert)

DISCLAIMER:

This is not an attack against Danganronpa: Despair Time or anyone on their team, it's just my opinions. Do not attack or harass anyone on the DRDT team. Also, these are just opinions. My opinions aren't the right opinions, this is just how I feel. These aren't hard facts. You don't have to like or agree with them.

1. I don't like David's turn.

I think it's way too sudden, and it needed a better buildup. This may sound mean-spirited, and I apologize if it is, but I feel like a lot of DRDT's popularity stems from David's turn. I think a better way of going about it would've been if David's turn was at the end. David's secret gets revealed at the end, and then when David says "Guilty as charged", the episode ends.

Honestly, with David's turn, I've only been liking his character less over time. He may be my least favorite character in this series.

2. Arturo isn't a bad character. Actually, he's one of the best ones.

I like his more violent and foil-ish side, and his chemistry with J, while a bit redundant at times, is actually interesting in terms of where it might go. I'm, just saying, imagine how funny it would be if J asked Arturo to beat the crap out someone, and he does it. (Disclaimer 2 Cruise Control: I'm not shipping them, I just think J could take advantage of Arturo, and she doesn't know it lolol)

3. Xander is horrendously overrated.

No, I don't hate Xander, but that being said, I don't see the hype for him. Don't get me wrong, his voice and design are great, but in terms of story, there isn't much to him. I don't really think much of him, especially now that he'd dead. Half the time, I forget he exists. He's C tier at highest.

4. Arei should've lived a little longer.

(Disclaimer 3 Rise of the Machines: This is a smaller take than the other three.)

I'm not saying she should've lived, nor am I saying her death is bad. I think her death was still emotional. On the other hand, We had such a good moment with Arei becoming a better character. That CG where she hugged David still sticks with me, but after episode 11, it's for a whole different reason.

I knew Arei was destined to die, but I feel like she should've gotten a couple more lines before she got axed. And in a way, she did, but I'm talking about maybe she tries to apologize to a couple people or make up for her wrongdoings. Idk I feel like she was 95% complete, but still, I'm not salty over her death. If anything, I bet it'll boost Eden's character for sure.

I adore Eddie but wish Argyle got the same kinda love that Eddie gets from the fandom. Like he has no fan cams or much fan art and very few x reader fics. People are so fucking nasty when it comes to him mainly people on twitter and tik tok who shit on him 24/7 its legit and obession. When you look him up on twitter the first thing you see associated with his name is annoying. On the rare post appreciating him ppl will talk shit and say Eddie is better or that they hope that Argyle dies a slow painful death like stfu and let ppl enjoy him.

Argyle is so much more than the anoying stoner dude that everyone thinks he is. He drove Jonathan, Mike, Will and that wounded agent guy out of California while getting shot at. Without even asking why he followed Mike's idea and drove them all the way to Utah. When the agent died he made a headstone for him and made sure he got a semi proper burial. Argyle is selfless and compassionate he is a great friend to Jonathan and went out if his way to cheer him up when he got all mopey about Nancy. Dude didnt do all of this and go through the trauma of having a guy die in the back of his delivery van for yall to just discredit his character as annoying and show him no love. Refusing to see Eddie's flaws and pick apart Argyle for every little thing.

Hopefully he will become more developed in volume 2 of season 4 and in volume 5 because he is such a good character and more people need to realize that.

I just dislike Bakugo. He’s a bully, and a douche. I don’t get why people simp for him and ship him with the victim of his bullying. If you do, no hate, but I just can’t stand bakugo. I hope he gets knocked down several pegs. He’s an asshole. I know a lot of people like him, but I just can’t get over the fact that he told deku to kill himself and literally burned him. As someone who was severely bullied, I just hate bakugo. He reminds me too much of the people who tormented me to the point I still have mental scars today. Also it infuriates me that the school is fine with bakugo’s bullshit but midoriya pushes himself too hard and is threatened with expulsion.

I like the little nest egg Ending, It’s very opened ended but honestly

I feel like that’s what’s good about it, especially from a Au standpoint.

Think about what henry does in this ending. He ONLY steals the money cart nothing else, which we know isn’t considered of maximum importance when right himself says to “eh, forget it. Takeoff is more important” also Henry doesn’t interact with the government at ALL nor does he mess with the toppats Rocket, Heck the only major casualty in this ending is Macbeth and that’s it.

This ending is good from a creative standpoint because of how little Henry influences things. The toppats and government are both still around and because this takes place after Relentless bounty Hunter Reginald isn’t there winch leaves room for a possible rescue mission. (bonus points for RHM not dying at the end of it), so potentially someone could make a whole Au revolving around a Toppat, Government war where henry is hunted down by the Gov to assist them in stopping them, I mean heck, you could even do something with Dave or get Charles to try defeat the toppats on his own or with the help of Ellie if she’s still out there. the possibilities for Toppat/Government centred Aus is endless here since both sides are still in tack with few major casualties in the way of things (endless you really like Macbeth of course).

People could do some cool stuff with the endless possibilities of this ending if they gave it a chance.

I'm just ranting right now because I saw a post on another site and wanted to share my thoughts. I saw a post from a woman who stated she chose to not buy a house because she discovered a convicted sex offender lives in the neighborhood. She has a family and wants to keep her kids safe, etc. Sounds simple enough and harmless, right? Here is the fundamental problem with this logic and sex offender registries: they only show who has been caught already. Everyone starts with a clean slate in life when it comes to our legal records. Also, why are these people so focused on staying away from those who have been caught and NOT on being vigilant in protecting their children from predators, and teaching their children what to look for in predators, aka those who have NOT been caught?

Same thing for rape victims, or really any crime victim of the sort. Quit telling these people who are suffering from enough as it is to report these people "so these perps don't hurt anyone else". If they want to pursue legal charges, okay. But guess what? This won't stop rapists from raping, child molesters from being predators, and it sure as hell won't stop murderers or robbers from killing or stealing from other people. Also, the court system gets it wrong... A LOT. Oh and here's the kicker: sex offender registries were made to try helping people from kidnappers, molesters and child murderers but guess what? It's helped none of those things really go down, they just show you who has been reported AND convicted!

It is NOT the job of victims to report these assholes for their crimes. It is also NOT the job of victims to protect everyone else. Where the hell was their protection when they got raped, robbed, beaten, molested, or whatever else they may have gone through? Why do some of these people think they deserve protection MORE than these victims who are far braver than these people are, and some who even chose to seek out justice through the shitty legal system?

Teach your children how predators behave, what kinda things they say to lure them in, etc. Oh and by the way, for many crimes the victim usually knows the perpetrators one way or another. They do say keep your friends close and your enemies closer...
