Executive Cucumber's Thoughts on the Bad Batch 03x09!

Apologies for this being late, I worked overtime and then immediately went to rescue my sister and her kids from a car breakdown. I got overwhelmed pretty quick.
I really liked this episode, but as I was in a not great mood when I watched it, I didn't absorb as much as I normally do. (My mood really affects how much I enjoy something, regardless of quality. I was in a foul mood when I first watched Faster and was fairly critical of it. I was wrong.)
This is really the first time we've seen not beautiful weather on Pabu and that's terrifying.
CROSSHAIR IS PART OF A COMMUNITY!!! Have yall considered that he's never been a part of a community before? Like yes, he's has his family, but a community?
'Does it matter? We're not giving her up.' This man. I love this man. If Tech did not already reign Supreme in my heart, I think Crosshair would be my favorite character in Star Wars.

Oh Omega, that story fell apart faster than Hunter's resistance to adopting you.

I don't think we've seen such well choreographed hand to hand fighting in animated Star Wars. Except maybe that time that Rex absolutely destroyed those Zygerrians. But I might be biased about that.

VENTRESS YOU QUEEN I LOVE YOU YOU'VE COME SO FAR (I haven't read dark disciple but my sister has, and she informed me that Vos' Dark Side training by Ventress culminated in him summoning a water monster and killing it. This is such a beautiful parallel that she calms it.)
Crosshair helping Omega on is my everything.
I really love that Crosshair has decided to give Ventress a chance, because he was given a chance. (And also I lowkey ship them in a one night stand kinda way. Crossajj is such a good ship name too)
DAD DUO.
I don't think Ventress is lying when she says Omega isn't Force sensitive. Omega doesn't show ANYTHING in this episode that implies that she's sensitive. Yes, she uses Batcher, but she'd trained Batcher with normal friend methods. I think that Ventress stops the testing prematurely before she can be more sure, because she sees the possibly unhealthy attachment the Batch have. It might also be to protect Omega to not know for sure. My personal theory is that Omega is slightly more sensitive than the average clone, but not to any natural talent degree.
Oh gosh, I'm so scared for the next few episodes. Ventress gives them such a clear warning. This episode did such a good job of getting the tension tight again.
I know some people call this episode redundant, but the characters NEED this in order to catch up. We as an audience knew that M Counts meant midichlorians. But the Batch had no idea. Sometimes, we need to let the main characters catch up with us.
(This is also why Tech as CX-2 works on a reveal level because the mystery isn't for us, it's for the characters)
But yeah, a great episode! I'm terrified for everything and everyone!
A quick note- I've seen people say that it's too late in the season for Tech to return. I'd like to remind you that it took exactly two episodes in season 2 to get us behind Crosshair's redemption. They can do a lot in a few episodes.

Rating Total Drama ships because I chose violence
Gwent - Alright hear me out. They were one of my favourites as a kid and it's really a pity they turned out that way. Trent genuinely loved Gwen so much but he lowkey deserves better ngl. 5/10
Gwancan - 1/10. No. Just no.
Gwortney - Their chemistry was really strong. Another good example of opposites attract, and again I wish things turned out different for them. Still, 8/10 one of my favourites fr
Scottney - I still have to process where the heck this ship came from. They literally never talked to each other and fell in love in three episodes??? Sorry not sorry, 3/10
Duncney - I have mixed feelings about this. They were so cute and my season 1 otp, but that was their only moment of glory. I love the opposites attract dynamic, but they made Courtney way too overcontrolling and Duncan... It's better if I shut up. 7/10
Lyler - Idk what yall say, they're definetely one of the cutest ships in this fandom. Lindsay often forgets Tyler's name but holy moly he NEVER lost his patience with her, he could have easily told her to screw up but always waited for her and it's just so cute to me. 9/10
Aleheather - Who follows this blog (and ao3 fics) knows how much I fucking love this ship. I've always been a sucker for enemies to lovers and god if I love their dynamic. The denial, the secret care, IT JUST MELTS MY HEART ALR? 10/10
Aletyler - I didn't even know this was a thing before I searched up total drama on Tumblr. Never saw their chemestry (even though I have to admit, the "paying back the favour" thing is a fantastic fanfic idea giver) and never shipped them much. Plus, some fans can really become oppressive with it (which, pay attention, appens with every ship). 2/10, sorry not sorry.
Alenoah - Look, Alejandro is at this point shipped with half of the fandom. But I have to admit, this ship isn't that bad. Another example of enemies to lovers, which I repeat I'm a sucker for, and can really turn out well if you think about it. Not my favourite, but a good 5/10
Nemma - I don't get why this is so hated. When I first watched the season I really appreciated Noah's change as a character. He clearly loved Emma with his heart and soul and it was just so cute to me. 8/10 for sure
Izzowen - Sorry if the name isn't correct. Now, I have mixed feelings about this too. They were really cute together and it's a pity it turned out like this, I think they could have worked a little better. 6/10, it's silly and makes me laugh.
Coderra - Alright, alright, Ik what yall are going to say. Sierra's actions weren't good at all. I already expressed my feelings about her and I don't wanna do it again, but I think that Sierra could have grown so much more as a character. In ROTI we see her wearing Cody's hat while hugging him, and by his smile we know that he now feels more comfortable around her. It's a shame that she came back to her obsessive behaviour in All Stars. Still, 5.5/10, pretty good if you ask me.
Zoey and Mike (dunno the name) - Again, I don't get the hate. Mike literally loved Zoey so much, cared about her since the first time he saw her, and it's obvious she feels the exact way about him. 7/10, loved them as a kid

Ok so, I've been wanting to talk about the whole episode 5 recollection thing ever since we saw it on the previous trailers, and since there were more shots of it in the new one too I'm gonna take the opportunity...
So, in all the little shots we've seen, we have Louis going at Lestat. So I'm guessing the idea is that they're gonna make the """fight""" actually more of a fight and not just Louis getting beaten.
Personally, I am pleased with this, because I think it's basically the best way to deal with this whole mess. I never had an issue with Lestat and Louis "fighting". What I have issue with is how extremely violent it was, how Lestat actually seriously hurt Louis. If it had been just a punch or two (though that would already be domestic abuse) I wouldn't have been fazed, but his whole body was bruised and bleeding. There was a trail of blood when he got dragged across the street. He took months to heal. In their little "fights" (actually not sure if it's more than one) in the book, Louis was completely fine. Lestat never truly hurt him physically.
So, to sort of get into a writers mindset I guess, how could you "fix it"? Well, I don't think they could say it's a fake memory. I'm sorry but the idea that it was implanted by Armand for example is just ridiculous to me. I don't think it even makes much sense in the first place, but besides that, I hate the idea of just blaming Armand to make Lestat seem better. This black and white idea of one of them being the "bad boyfriend" and the other the "good one" that comes from both sides is NOT true to the characters imo, and I also think it's a shitty narrative to go with, storytelling wise.
Besides that, I'm not sure how else you could fully retcon it and say it was fake. I saw people theorizing that only the drop was fake, but again that seems to rely on the Armand fake memory theory, and I honestly don't think they'll retcon it since it was kinda the whole point thematically from what the writers said (that it's a parallel to Paul and that they were "very pleased with themselves" for it). And clearly the initial "fight" is not fake from the new shots we got. Obviously "Louis made it up" is not an option. I remember people talking about how it was from Claudia's POV, which I honestly don't remember whether that part was supposed to be from her diary or not, but even if that's the case the most that could do is establish that the details of the fall are messy because she wasn't there to see it, and that maybe Lestat wasn't so "triumphant" after it.
Lestat attacked Louis, just because he THOUGHT Louis wanted to leave with Claudia. He started it, which does matter imo (I don't think they can change that to it being Louis) and it was completely unequal. I know this fandom is lowkey plagued with gender role discourse, but Lestat, as a stronger vampire, has a huge advantage against Louis, akin to a man hitting his wife, but probably even bigger due to supernatural strength.
And that is to say, technically the main problems will probably still be there. Which is how it should be imo, cause after doing that they have to commit to it, at least to some extent. The idea should not be to fully exonerate Lestat, but to basically soften the blow (literally and figuratively) by adding some more nuance to it. The writers said themselves that they want Louis to be belieavable as a victim.
So, I'm guessing that what we're gonna see is Louis defending himself, getting some hits against Lestat, and that Lestat was hurt too, and maybe something new about the fall. Which honestly is gonna give me some peace of mind. I get why people don't like the idea of discrediting Louis' account of the event, and of how the fandom can turn on him if he's not some perfect victim... But there was (is) just something in me that can't fully ship Loustat as much as I did before with that having happened.
Like, for a while I have basically just chosen to ignore it as much as possible. I don't rewatch the episode, I skip it during reactions, I skip the beginning of episode 6 where we see how Louis is after. I have acknowledged it many times but more as like a meta thing that happened. I probably wouldn't say it's triggering, but it just crossed a line to me and I'm gonna welcome (almost) anything they do to make it less bad than it seemed, not because I want for Louis to come off as a liar or anything but just like... For my own relief, to kinda have a bit of weight off my shoulders when watching the show and shipping them? Obviously I don't know anything for sure and I might be wrong about some things I'm guessing, but not having it be so one-sided at least already helps a bit.
(Please don't come here to say I'm a weak bitch who can't handle dark gothic romance or some bullshit like that. I've already talked about that back when the scene aired and if you think it's a simple as that you're probably just dumb and insensitive)

Comprehensive Guide For Assassination Classroom Content
Because it's pretty hard to find a straight up list of it all. Please note that whilst I believe this is accurate, I was not involved in the fandom whilst the series was active and so could reasonably miss something.
Core Content
Assassination Classroom manga as serialised in Shounen Jump. If you buy the physical volumes, there's a bit of additional content between chapters, most notably introductory character profiles.
Assassination Classroom anime (some count seasons 1 and 2 as separate entities)
Assassination Classroom Meeting Time - an animated short featuring Korosensei and Karasuma's first meeting.
Assassination Classroom Extra Curricular Lessons - adaptations of a couple of manga chapters that weren't in the show itself. I'll just link a playlist here. Fun fact this is where Nagisa gets hit by a chair (lowkey he deserved it)
Additional Content
365 Days Movie. This isn't 'canon' as it's an anime original thing. There's no official English release that I know of. Honestly the movie is mostly a series recap, and only features Karma and Nagisa in new scenes. It's only really worth watching if you especially ship them as there's only maybe 10 minutes of actual content (and most of that is just montage, you can get the gist with this)
Roll Call Book - this was published mid manga run. It's mostly just a bunch of bonus content particularly character based. No official English translation exists, but snippets are easy enough to find online.
Graduation Album - as the name implies, it accompanies the end of the manga. About half of it is an art book, but there's extra character information especially about their post graduation lives. Crucially it includes a few manga shorts which extend past the actual canon ending.
Korotan A, B, C, and D plus Korosuu. They're mostly just Assassination Classroom themed text books (Seriously. My actual university book store sold them.) Korotans are for English vocabulary, Korosuu is for maths. Notably each book also contains a light novel (sometimes these are just referred to as 'the light novels'). It is debatable how canon these are as Matsui didn't write them, but he was involved through illustrating and overseeing the writing. Korotan D is especially debated because it's post canon content set when 3E are 18, but there's a small 'it was all a dream' implication right at the end of the book. Personally speaking I take them as full canon.
Official Spin Offs
The live action movies (part one and two). They change a lot of plot so I place them more in the spin off area. Easily skippable.
Korosensei Quest Manga (otherwise known as Koro Q) - a spin off gag manga set in a fantasy/video game inspired universe. This is not canon (unfortunately) and as far as I understand Matsui isn't involved in it. There's an implication of the idea it's Fuwa's own manga creation. Overall there are four volumes but there's no official English version (though fan scans aren't hard to find).
Korosensei Quest Anime - lightly based on the Koro Q manga. This is only a short 10 episode series though, and was complete long before the original, as such only the first few episodes are actual adaptations and it starts doing its own thing. All voice cast return so that's neat.
The OVA - basically an early adaptation of the Kyoto arc. Link here. It was released in 2013 so predates the actual anime, and a lot of the voice cast are different.
White day shorts featuring Karma, Maehara, and Nagisa - posted on official website as an otome game parody for promotion. Included because they're voice acted.
The 3DS games. They're region locked as far as I understand, and there's no translation of them. You can find it dumped if you know what you're doing with emulators, I've only played a few minutes of it myself.
The app game - no longer available. It was a gatcha tie in game featuring a variety of character illustrations.
Various merch lines and related illustrations. There are far too many to list and new ones still come out sometimes.
As I said, I hope I covered everything but there's a good possibility something slipped my mind.

I HAVE THOUGHTS ABOUT VASH'S SCARS
Spoilers for everything, stampede, manga and 98.
In both 98 and the manga, vash's scars are not only more noticeable in stampede but also more natural. The scars are deep and darker because (I think) they healed naturally.
Ofc manga vash has more scars (ouch my heart) but the point is that they look like vash let them do their own thing (except for the metal part in his chest)
Now let's look at stampede
Vash has less noticeable scars yes, but he has way more metal part in his body. This leaves us with so many possibilities and reasons why his wounds needed additional metal parts to be treated. Maybe Vash has no fucking idea on how to treat himself and when he goes to visit the 3rd ship they are so bad they have to put metal parts on his body to treat the wound, maybe he treated the wounds himself by putting those metal pieces, maybe he chooses to cover up the worst scars with metal so he looks less scary, I don't know!
Ignoring for a moment the many sad possibilities, it shows how stampede is more focused on the sci-fi than the early manga and 98 and I think that's fun.
Additional note: people say the change was to tone down the scars and I can see why people may think that but I orange has showed us they have no chill so that wouldn't make sense. I think vash from stampede season 1 is meant to be a blank canvas. Wolfwood got a good look at his scars and yes it will be the reason why he will recognize Vash in the next season, but we have to consider episode 11 and 12.
Vash was stabbed in the back (in so many ways) in episode 11, shot at AND lowkey burned in episode 12, that has to leave a mark in his body. So when Wolfwood, and the audience, sees Vash's scars in season 2, we will all get to see his body even more injured.
98 and the manga have a great shock element, but stampede has the possibility to make it more upsetting every time vash's scars show up

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
Thanks for the tag @all-my-worlds-a-stage (and sorry for only getting back to you so late, but, you know, ideas had to be dwelled upon, etc etc etc)
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
14 - could have been less if I had been a a more responsible human being with more impulse control, could be more if I wasn't such a goddamn perfectionist, sigh.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
332,695 (because my projects usually escalate way too quickly, sorry not sorry)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Officially, Tatort - Tatort Ludwigshafen to be specific. Currently peering over the edge for Münster and Wien. And I had a huge obsession with the MCU and The Witcher and Sherlock before, and still have half a novel based on The Night Manager up on my drive somewhere. And then there was also that missing scene from House of Cards that started it all on AO3 (but it's buried beneath a bunch of Lena Odenthal content now, thankfully).
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Sonne, See und Sterne: The summer holiday fanfic that I wrote throughout December and January (... sounds pretty normal imo) for Lena Odenthal and Johanna Stern and that I still like to read from time to time to dive back into that vibe :')
A Scarred Sunrise: My debut fanfic on ao3, the infamous House of Cards oneshot that probably only got this many kudos because it's not part of a German niche fandom :'D
The Hand Is a Servant of the Heart: The very first Lena/Johanna fic that I published, yet another missing/adapted scene from canon (aka from one of the more traumatising Ludwigshafen episodes that needed some sort of ... band-aid to be fixed, lol).
Das Nest: My very first fluff & smut Lena/Johanna fic that didn't fall into the abyss of trauma and tragedy but instead escalated into a Love Actually rip-off by the end (and I still adore it for that).
Liens de cuir et mains de soie: A dom/sub/switching kinda character study/crossover between Lena Odenthal and Esther Baumann set mostly in France, inspired by the lovely but lowkey deranged idea by @disappointingsalad at the start and improved by her very own contribution at the end - thank you so much! :)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes, because I love each and every one of them from the bottom of my heart!!! <3 (Also, the only reason that it takes long-ish for me to reply to some of them is that I cannot stop grinning and jumping up and down out of pure joy every single time I re-read them to reply properly, so, sorry not sorry, but you people make my day with those and I save them in an extra outlook folder because of that <3)
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Since I'm usually rather fond of happy endings, I tend to resolve most of the tension. "Zerrissene Fäden" would be a possible candidate though. Maybe also "I've Come To Burn Your Kingdom Down" or "A Scarred Sunrise". Because of the uncertainty that still simmers through towards the end, but idk.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Well, since I'm a sucker for happy endings, they're all quite happy so far. But the happiest ... huh. Maybe "Das Nest". Or "Sonne, See und Sterne". Or "Liens de cuir et mains de soie". I can't decide on this either, apparently, oops :'D
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Thankfully, no. But that's one of the few advantages of a small German fandom without great shipping wars, I suppose :'D
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Ha. Haha. Hahaha. Yes. Been there, done that, many kinds of that, in fact. Anything from the sweet vanilla kind (looking at all those 'found family' tropes) over the fast and messy ONS kind to the dom/sub-themed and/or throuple 'well that escalated quickly' kind. Each has its own perks. And its challenges (looking at the classic wlw problem of overusing "she" etc). But I still love delving into those headcanons on a regular (and mildly irresponsible) basis ;)
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I wouldn't call it far-fetched since both fandoms are Tatort-related, but the sub/dom-themed Ludwigshafen/Saarbrücken crossover up on ao3 is definitely ... some kind of crazy. And then there are also all those Wien / Münster / Bremen ideas which haven't quite left the nest that @all-my-worlds-a-stage and I have so far built for them. Look forward to those ;) Also, in non-Tatort terms, there was this one Geralt/Loki fanfic I started years ago but I'm ... not even sure I'd find that cursed document again at present :'D
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'd know of it (niche fandoms strikes again).
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope (niche fandoms strikes again).
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes, with @disappointingsalad. And I'm currently working on some other ideas that require more than my last two braincells, in this case with the help of @all-my-worlds-a-stage ;)
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
Given my ao3 history, the case seems pretty clear - definitely Lena Odenthal/Johanna Stern. Honorable mentions go out to Sherlock/John, Geralt/Jaskier and Jamie/Brienne. And to Wilhelmine Klemm as well, because whoever she ends up with is so goddamn lucky to have her (and I'm here for each and everyone of them).
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Oh God. Most of them, I suppose, given the lethal combination of adhd and perfectionism that rule my brain? :'D But the first thing that came to mind was the band AU I started a couple of months ago. Because the movie playing in my mind just at the thought of it is already so perfect and I don't have any idea how to get all of those scenes written down in exactly that way.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Probably dialogue? The amount of raw dialogue I've written as a kick-off for some vague idea is ... quite telling. In many ways.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Introspection. Whenever it comes to the thoughts of characters, my own mind is just ... blank. No idea what they could be feeling or thinking in this very moment, or rather, no idea how to phrase it without putting it into dialogue. Yeah, I know, just what a non-TV writer needs to work properly :'D
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Been there, done that, probably wouldn't do it again, at least not in the way I did it then.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Officially, House of Cards. Unofficially, probably Sherlock? Or the MCU? That was ... ages ago though.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
You CANNOT ask a mother which of her children she- well. Wait a minute. I think I'll throw "Von Schwertglanz und Schattengewächsen" in there, the medieval Tatort Ludwigshafen AU I started this February. Because this is such a long-ass project that has accompanied me through some pretty ... interesting months and I worked so many inspirations and easter eggs into it. And I'm continuing to do that now, in this very moment, because I watched a very gruesome Tatort Wien episode (thx for the rec @carlomainzinger ;_;) that had just the right amount of protective & soft found family vibes and raw & unfiltered force to thwart me back into this setting (not as hard as Bibi was thwarted around her own flat though, uargh). So, yeah, uh, look forward to that, the wait might be over soon ;)

my boyfriend hooked me into Arcane. We stopped in episode 5 and here are some of my thoughts (mind you, I don’t play LoL and no nothing of the lore)
Mel is the prettiest girl in the show. She’s now the queen of my heart. I would def die for her;

I had to be reassured 3 times that Silco saw Jinx as a daughter, because their interactions gave me some bad feelings and I was like “did he groom this girl to fuck her?”;
I hate Jinx because she was my manipulative ex-best friend favorite LoL character, and I can’t see that fucking blue hair without thinking about that bitch;
I still haven’t seen Ekko as an adult, which is the only character I kinda of know because I know a very hot guy who cosplays Ekko, so I know that the character must be hot.
There’s also one councilwoman who has golden claws in her fingers and I’m lowkey in love too. Why does this show has so many hot characters?????
I still don’t understand what this all has to do with the funky crystal towers I’ve seen my bf destroy when he plays LoL.

Love in the Air: Sky’s Friendship with Rain
Sky is proving himself to be the best bestie throughout episode 4. He doesn’t involve himself too much - just gently comforts and nudges if needed, but ultimately allows Rain to come to his own conclusions and take action himself. Even though I’m dying to see Sky’s relationship with Prapai, I do really appreciate the attention they’re taking to flesh out Sky’s character via his friendship with Rain.
I’m interested to see how the tables will turn when Sky’s storyline with Prapai unfolds, and how Rain will support him in return. Prapai does initially ask Rain for Sky’s number, so I wonder if Rain intentionally encourages this ship to sail or not. As much as Rain can be a bit slow on the uptake, he must have questions and will almost definitely catch Prapai showing up everywhere all of a sudden.
I do lowkey love the thought of Rain and Payu playing cupid/wingmen behind the scenes to get their respective best friends to couple up though. Even more amusing if we get them being protective and bickering over their BFFs like ‘if your best friend hurts my best friend, there will be hell to pay’.
I’m also really curious how much Sky has shared about his ex with Rain? So far, Sky seems like the type to brush off his own problems and put others first. When he admits to Rain in ep2 that the source of information was his ex, he quickly changes topic. After the one night stand with Prapai (which currently takes place off-screen around ep3), Sky doesn’t even mention what happened to him at the race after Rain left, and nonchalantly shrugs the focus of the conversation back to Rain, “I’m fine but you’re not.” Rain also later says to Sky, “Don’t you like Prapai? He’s a kind person” - so we get the sense that Rain supports the idea and doesn’t see any obvious reasons why Sky wouldn’t be. (Which only further suggests to me that Rain doesn’t know too much about what Sky potentially went through and therefore why Prapai’s eagerness concerns him).
Sky has been an absolute sweetheart, and I’m sure Rain will be heartbroken when he gets a better understanding of what Sky’s been dealing with on his own.
Fun fact: according to Me Mind Y’s relationship chart, they’ve also cast a young Sky, which suggests we’ll be getting some form of flashback into Sky’s backstory.

Listen. They are The ship because they are divorced and soulmates at the same time. I love that energy they have going on. Their dynamic got sidetracked with the neo egoist arc and kaiser's introduction as isagi's new foil/rival, but imho bllk peaked when these two were still navigating how to coexist with each other and simultaneously come on top of each other. What I like about their dynamic is that is balanced. While isagi makes an effort to understand rin and work with him instead of for him like everyone else, isagi also doesn't coddle him or tries to fix him.
They are equally deranged for football and their skill levels are different, but on the field they push and challenge each other in ways that other dynamics simply don't, imho. I never get the feeling from them that either one has fully caught up to the other, and that's part of why I like them so much. They barely tolerate each other, yet they're the closest thing to actual teamwork this manga will ever have. What I love about them is that despite being polar opposite in basically every respect (personalities, family curcumstances, attitude towards others), they're also very in-synch because on the field they see the same view and think the same way. Everyone always says that kaisagi is the dbhwks equivalent of bllk, but to me that's rinsagi. Enemies that have way too much in common and don't want to admit it.
Plus I find it funny that they're both lowkey-highkey touch averse so that makes imagining them as a couple fairly fun :')
Kunigiri:
This is where I'm conflicted because this is a very very small fandom, and the bloggers who actively talk here (here being tumblr or discord) as opposed to just... Sharing things are almost all kncg shippers. For the sake of finding fandom friends, I tried liking this ship. Believe me, I did! But it just isn't hitting for me. And the thing is, I can see the appeal. They have the same tragic angle of friends separed that nagireo and bachisagi do, except it's even more tragic because one of them is almost eliminated! Plus the whole "came back wrong" potential angle! I should be shipping them! I live for angst and for hurt/comfort! But I just... I don't know. I find them a bit bland, and it doesn't help that I hate with a passion the nickname "princess" and you just cannot avoid it in this corner of the fandom
I guess I will try harder, maybe eventually I will find out the fic that will convert me

This is where I reveal myself as unhinged because they have completely hijacked my brain. I STARTED SHIPPING THEM AS A JOKE. because it was funny. And then I read episode nagi. And then somehow they became my biggest comfort ship ever??? They can barely communicate. They actively make each other worse (at least as far as blue lock themes go. They'd be fine in a different manga). How did this happen.
Ahem. Without writing (another) essay on them (check my meta tag for those), I will say that I am absolutely feral about these two. They're fun because they are so Weird. They're the best friends to lovers trope but they can't talk to each other at all. Miscommunication is their daily bread. They're rivals who can't help being wrapped around each other's fingers. One moment they're trying to progress as their own individuals, the next they're back to being codependent. They exemplify so many of the themes of blue lock and one day I'm gonna write a whole essay on it. Like I'm not even kidding, reonagi, bachisagi and rinsae are all faces of the same coin. I'm convinced Kaneshiro introduced them all to drive home the idea that the best striker in the world cannot live for someone else's success, and those three dynamics are different stages of self awareness in that respect. In that respect I think all three are integral to the series and that's why they're the most nuanced dynamics of the show
But as for nagireo itself? I know they will make me miserable eventually because I want them to be a team and that will never happen (well, if you don't take into account how they're both likely to make it to the u20 proper at least). But still. If I didn't like pain I wouldn't be shipping them in the first place I guess

i have some ideas on what "14" and "savage" could mean, and this episode made me even more suspicious on the "savage" one. who do we know that looks like charles? sazz, of course. who do we know who is called "savage"? charles’ mysterious father who seems to be very important to the plot and may have been involved in another’s death, but who is dead now - so he wouldn’t be the killer but bunny might have known something about him. and lastly, what is called "savage"? the painting. but how important could a painting be that it’s title is your last word? what is it about the painting? who made the fake one in amy schumer’s appt and where is the real one, and what is it hiding? as for 14, i just think it could be an apartment number, but idk who’s apartment that would be.
speaking of who made the fake painting… alice is an artist who evidently has few qualms about exploiting others or pretending to be them (can you tell i’m angry at her?). regardless of if she’s the killer, she may well be the replicator

Just finished reading your Bon Voyage 3 ask and I wanted to enquire about a moment Vkookers claim for themselves. So when V comes late they've all picked rooms and JK is on his own. According to Vkookers JK signaled V to choose his room. (Not sure how) Seems like that's what happened though coz RM then goes "it was your idea to not tell him anything" or something like that. Is that how you perceived the situation while you were watching? Would love your take on it 😊
The way that shippers all take the same moment and make it about their ship is FASCINATING to me. I've seen theories about this exact same moment where it's about confirming vmin, vkook and taejin.... fascinating truly. The only one that I think don't just sound.... well over analyzing everything. Are vminnies. I'll give them this one. Because vmin flat out said it themselves. Lol
This was episode 4 of season 3 of BV. Tae had just arrived late and was picking his room. The very first door he opened was going to be his room. Yoongi had just left, so now the rooms at this point were jinmin in one room, namseok in another and JK had a room to himself. When they get back to the house, Tae starts asking questions and trying to get hints. He asked if the rooms had a bathroom. They answered those 2 do, and this one doesn't and uses the Hall bathroom.
JK ends up slipping and gives away a roommate hint. They (vague motions to 94z) use that bathroom when talking about the hall as a correction about they all have to share that bathroom. We (the others) do not. So Tae then goes oh got it. And JK looks minorly disappointed with himself when RM teases him about giving away hints and he realized that he did in fact, give away hints.
Tae then goes upstairs and starts trying to peep through the window, to see whose stuff is in the room and if he can guess who he would room with that way and narrow it down even more. Lol he walks nack down the stairs saying that Jimins stuff wasn't in that room, so that one isn't his. Lol which Jimin then jumps up going "OH you wanted to share with me??" Which Tae confirms, yes, he does
So Tae is over here trying to scheme his way into getting hints about which room is Jimins so that he can stay with his soulmate. Lol Jimin then cracks himself up laughing by pointing upstairs and telling him to go in there. Tae confirms and asks more. Jimin just laughs and laughs. Probably because he is giving it away and Tae doesn't believe him. Thinks he is joking or something. I don't even know
And then Tae opens JKs door with a flourish! And looks very confused to not find Jimins belongings in there. Lol everyone tells him he failed (at Finding Jimins room) Hobi congratulates JK on sharing his room with Tae and JK just goes "no" and looks disappointed at losing his single room. Lol
So to me, it looks like Tae went in there with the hope to share a room with Jimin and didn't want to end up with Namseok as they had the smallest, most crowded room with no bathroom. He ended up getting a good room with good space to share. But not what his goal was, so he "failed" and i don't think JK was signaling hints to get Tae into his room since he was super pumped at not having to share and then lowkey disappointed at no longer having the bed to himself. I think he was just answering bathroom questions more honestly than he had anticipated. He was trying to be sneaky and wasn't good at it 🤣 Jimins giggles give me life. Vmin reunited and he just wanted some soulmate roommate time. Lol
But they were all cute and taekook roomed so nicely together. JinMin got the best deal in the end with those big beds to themselves even if they shared a room 🤣

Something has to bring all the counterparts together, it's either Nine or some big space anomaly. (Still holding onto the sacrifice idea until we get the trailer later for proper speculation.)
There's such a big insistent that they're just as alive as the originals brings up how concerning the finale is going to go; cause I don't think some are going to swallow the idea of the verses being gone so easily unless there's proper reasoning for it. (That, and if the counterparts can live on in some manner.)
There's most certainly going to a huge emotional breakdown on Nine's part, I can feel it. (I wonder if part of it is that he's having a hard time processing a life that wasn't either hectic or in solitude. Him making those palm trees and coconuts has to mean something, I doubt those crossed his mind before Sonic showed up. And in his own lab at that, his own private space. Also Sonic mentioning to expect many adventures after the whole thing is over. {And will Nine ever experience a chili-dog? Questions, questions.})
Heh, it would be pretty funny if Mangey's first [and likely only] coherent sentence is the thing that strikes a deep chord in Nine. The fact that he saw both at all will probably be in his mind when working on the Grim. (Hmm, I have seen a few think Sails might be a representation of Tails' loyalty, and such, might have abandonment issues [like the rest of the pirate crew]. The fact that Sonic came back, but Dread jumped ship could probably cause some reflection.) In any case, not getting an episode with all 3 together when one's leaning into main antagonist territory would be a massive waste on the storytelling.
Haha, we'll see (idk if I've already said it, I personally don't believe in sacrifice because I still see the Shatterspace people as parts of the og, so how are we meant to "glue" them back together if a part gets destroyed?)

Idk about a "huge" breakdown, I mean, he'll probably cry, but idk how dramatic they'd want to make it (genuinely). It's still a show for little kids so they'll probably won't go for anything really complicated. (I lowkey forgot how childish the humor is before I watched s1b)
(I think the coconuts and the palm trees would most likely be used more for Sonic's character development... we'll see though. I think he'll see them in Nine's lab amd have a reaction of some sorts)
Mangeeey! I think Nine seeing his counterparts helped him to better understand how the Shatterverse works... he seemed confused when he saw Sails but downright scared when he saw Mangey... Idk what conclusions he came to though.
It could be loyalty, though out of all 3 Tailses Sails is the one with the least unique/obvious personality traits. I was mostly thinking how the things Sails and Mangey went through could relate to Nine's situation, it's easy with Mangey, but what could Sails offer, you know? If anything It'll be like with the Roses, "Fuck Dread and Fuck the Council Sonic", I don't think Sails could actually be of help here. (Unless it amounts to "hey at least Sonic isn't as bad as Dread, you should forgive him". Which I don't like because I don't think Nine is obligated to forgive Sonic. I wouldn't mind if he decides to forgive him anyway in the end, but no one should guilt him into it. I actually think it would be cooler if he didn't, because it would show Sonic that his actions have consequences and he can't placate Nine with a "sorry" the way he does Tails. (Even better if Nine also apologizes but still doesn't want to try to be friends with Sonic again))
Yep, agreed, I need a Tails³ episode, because Nine is so prominent but the other two barely have had any development it feels almost weird?

1. How many fics do you have on ao3?
36, which would probably be insane to me a couple of years ago, but they're nothing compared to the amount of wips I have, enlisted or not (please, send help).
2. What's your total ao3 word count?
170,058! Nice
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mainly The Owl House.
I have a couple of fics for the Shadowhunter Chronicles, mostly The Last Hours (though I do have a Wicked Powers wip) but I haven't had the most pleasant experiences in the TSC fandom so that'll probably be it.
Oh! I do have 4-ish Mob Psycho 100 fics in the works and a Star Wars one.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

Sentimental, grieving to survive: I think we all were longing for the family reunions after Thanks to Them, so I get it too
Operation 'Make Darius like me': If I had to pick something as my fic writing legacy, it would be Hunter causing Darius psychic damage by saying"meow-meow" in the most deadpan expression in the world
Long lost lies: I remember being sooo excited to write this one and then having a mental illness episode in the middle of it so overall it's funny it came out nice
An unsung melody, mine for safekeeping: I think this was like my third fic??? And it's just pure fluff so... really nice to have it here
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do! I cherish each comment dearly so I try to reply to them all within the week. Though I have been going Through It the past couple of months, so I've been falling behind on that :( I love them tho, I'm kinda sad when I don't get any
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Okay, it's either "Loyalty Binds you" or one of my puppet Dadrius reunions which is, in retrospective, incredibly funny because I wrote those 3 one after the other, no hurt/comfort to be found.
I would argue the puppet ones have some hopeful undertones tho, so perhaps "Loyalty Binds you", especially because there's no hopeful ending in sight unless the whim strikes me to write it. It exists. In my head.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I write SUCH cheesy endings, you have no idea, I'm generally not one to leave things in a sad note because I'm too soft for that. But if I have to pick, I woud say "So, what was your name again?" if only because the ending is happy like in most of my fics, but this one, because it's a reunion fic, has a ecstatic sort of quality, I would say.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I have gotten a couple of weird comments, but not hate, no.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Girl, I can barely write people kissing, this is asking too much from me. In all seriousness, I mostly write found family, so no smut here.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Same as candyskiez said, I prefer to write AUs in the setting of other media. I think crossovers can be fun but most of them aren't my thing, ngl.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Once as far as I know. When I went to ask the person to take it down, they deleted their whole profile so... win?
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Someone asked me once for permission to translate a fic to Russian, I believe, but I'm not sure if they went through with it.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not really, but Will and I should really get on with the one we have planned. To be fair, I have not replied our unhinged planning in a While™ so it's mostly on me. Oops.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
I don't think I have one. Half of the ships I like don't compel me to read fics about them and the other half feel to fresh to even begin to compete as all-time favorite.
If I had to pick tho, I'm going with Cecilos because they meant everything to me from like 14-17.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
All of them /j
Okay, kidding, I have been so exhausted lately in the writing department buuuut probably "Children of Dust and Ashes". I still love the concept and ideas I had for it but the one other person who cared about it is an ex-friend and as I mentioned before, TSC is a tricky fandom for me so I don't think I can cheerlead myself into finishing this one. I'm sorry to the like... 2 people who seemed interested.
16. What's your writing strengths?
You think I know myself that much? /j
Um. I'm gonna say characterization? I don't think it's perfect, but I do try to keep it consistent and it's something people have praised before so let's go with it.
17. What's your writing weaknesses?
In theory I know a shit ton of vocabulary. In practice, I feel like the language I use is too basic, which I blame a bit on the language barrier, and my descriptions too simple, which is a problem for me in Spanish as well, so that one is all me lmao.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I eat that shit up. Of course, I think it also depends on the context, keep it consistent! Like if a character canonically sprinkles their speech with words/sentences in their own language, one should absolutely strive to imitate that.
I think adding the translations at the end as a note works well.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
In general in life? Lord of the Rings, especifically, about Gimli, he was my guy.
Actually posting online? I'm. Huh. I'd rather not say... I'm willing to say the second one was Voltron Legendary Defender, so you can imagine how bad the first one must have been.
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
"Loving Echoes (In loving memory of Emperor Belos)" is one I was super fond of when I wrote it and I still think back to it when considering my best pieces. I just really liked writing the speech/monologue there.

I'd really like to see more moments of the axis and the allies just hanging out together. Considering theyre the main characters it's lowkey sad many of them barely have any interactions together (Hima pls all I need is a panel w/ Germany nd China).
