I am having q!tubbo brain rot so have a slice of it.

I am so curious as to which direction Tubbo will take his character. Because nothing what q!tubbo does seems malicious or sometimes even intentional yet so many people take issue with him or his behaviour. And he is somewhat aware of that while at the same time, completely oblivious as to why or how deep the conflict goes.

You have the federation who cannot stand his arse. Who we know is paying extra attention to Tubbo and wants to arrest him the minute he even does something slightly illegal. While they have not arrested him yet, it is only a matter of time. So what do they do in the meantime? They use him as a scapegoat to nerf certain game mechanics or punish him extra harshly in comparison to others who did the exact same things or worse. Yet for some reason, the other qsmp members are under the impression that Tubbo never gets punished and that he is solely to blame for the create nerf, breeding animosity.

Then next, you have the antagonistic fights with Etoiles which started carefree and rather playful but now have been escalating in q!Etoiles telling the codes that Tubbo works with the federation. To be honest, Tubbo is absolutely partly to blame for this one with his cheeky comments to Etoiles about losing his fight with the code. However, it adds another dynamic layer of conflict to the situation.

Finally, you have the vendetta of Bad and Aypierre against Tubbo due to the controversial Tubhole. You can argue all day long about the logistics of Tubhole and whether Bad and Pierre are valid in their objections against it. But the facts remain that it is within Tubbo's rights to do so and that they have not given him the grace period to let him make it into a good build. It literally is still a work in process that has been going on for less than 24 Minecraft hours. And even if it turns out to be ugly, the fact that Tubbo has been building the Tubhole with only create machines is fucking cool and makes it worth it (in my opinion). Moreover, Bad and Pierre both have similar big projects and their concern that it is different because of the close proximity to spawn feels a bit hypocritical as there are other (big) projects near spawn that cause similar amounts of lag.

And now this vendetta has gone from convincing other islanders of how Tubbo must be stopped to them framing Tubbo for the kidnapping of Ron to Fred. A being that everyone on the island at this point knows is important to Tubbo. A relationship which is one of the only ones Tubbo has left, besides the morning crew. We already know how much the relationship between Fred and Tubbo affects Tubbo's emotions so what will losing Fred or their trust do to him?

So now you have this huge cluster of events that puts q!Tubbo in a situation where everyone is against him, the federation, the code entities and most of the islanders as well. An exception can be made for the morning crew however they do not seem to take Tubbo or his concerns seriously, treating it like the mischief and matters of a kid.

And most interestingly, it is still not clear what makes Tubbo so special. Is it his use of create mod? Aypierre, Ramon and Dapper do something similar. Is it his curiosity and distrust of the federation? Cellbit, Badboyhalo en Bagi are right there with him. Is it his apparent greed or selfishness with regard to resources? It is not like he has never shared them or that gathering resources is sole motivation. Is it his knowledge of Minecraft mechanics to break the lore/server? Philza and his fourth wall breaking say hello as does Aypierre. Is it his age then? His relentless attitude to anything that catches his attention? His endless curiosity?

It will be so interesting to see where all these points of contention will lead to and how q!Tubbo will react to it or change as a result of it. Currently, his only concerns are the potential romance with Fred and finishing the Tubhole so that he can get along with everyone again. So he clearly does not know yet how much trouble he truly is in or how the cards are stacked against him...

Ok I have thoughtsssss on the Dapper lore we just got.

I 100% believe the feds are coercing Dapper to mass produce these op health swap/regen potions for them - for a number of reasons.

First off, we need to go back to the convo Dapper had with Bad a week? Ago about keeping secrets. This was before Dapper started acting really weird and secretive. During that conversation, Dapper - to me - felt scared. At the time I assumed it was because they were afraid Bad would be upset at them for keeping secrets but now I think it was because Dapper was terrified of the secret he was keeping, that the Feds have commanded them to figure out a way of mass producing this Soul Vulture potion. It was only after Bad assured Dapper that he trusts them that Dapper started going all in on this mystery. She had gotten permission/reassurance from her dad that he believes in her and trusts her to do the right thing.

Now why would the federation ask an egg to do their dirty work? Easy. The eggs are so much more vulnerable that the players. The federation most likely created them so they probably have actual leverage or sway of some kind over the eggs but also think about what Dapper has to lose? Pomme, Ramon, Richas, all of their siblings in addition to threats to imprison or hurt Bad and Baghera. There is so much leverage the Feds have over Dapper it’d be easy to black mail him into compliance. Additionally, no one would expect the eggs to turn like this. The eggs are incredibly loyal and most hate the federation as much as their parents. It would be easy to get the egg to work for the feds without tipping off any of the islanders.

Even more damningly, Dapper is the most knowledgeable person on the island when it comes to mobs and has extensive knowledge of create machines. Dapper is the perfect person to learn how to mass produce the Soul Vulture’s corrupted form that produces the hearts necessary to make the potion in addition to building a create machine to mass produce the potion itself. Dapper has the perfect combination of knowledge that makes them the only person for this job.

On top of all of that, Dapper has Soul Vultures in the lab (thank you Minecraft subtitles XD). Soul Vultures are only found in the nether. We know the Feds have access to spawn eggs for nether mobs thanks to the mob Dapper asked for in the Zoo project and the only other way would be going into the nether yourself which we know thanks to Forever’s portal is incredibly dangerous and chaotic. I highly doubt Dapper was making solo trips into the nether this whole time trying to find the Soul Vulture without Bad finding out. It’s much more likely to me that the federation gave Dapper spawn eggs - or even the mobs themselves- so that Dapper could breed them and experiment on them.

Then on top of all of this, Dapper has been blatantly lying to Bad’s face because what else can she do? Dapper knows they aren’t fooling Bad but what are they supposed to do? They are being black mailed and can’t tell anyone without the feds threatening to take away everyone Dapper loves. Of course the only thing they can do is lie knowing Bad will see right through it and hope that Bad won’t interfere (or will and help Dapper get out of this) I thought the bald face lying was so odd but Dapper being black mailed makes everything make sense because at that point, lying was all Dapper could do even if there was no way anyone would believe them.

But there you have it. That’s all the evidence I can think of off the top of my head just from memory. Hopefully we’ll get a stream tomorrow but until then, I cry T-T

(I can’t remember if the Soul Vulture was the second spawn egg the feds gave Dapper/Bad for the zoo but if that is the case, then the feds gave Dapper the egg knowing what it could be used for and the black mail scheme unfolds the same)

death of an author, reclamation, and you

Brand New was among one of my favorite bands in high school, and I still listen to them today. Their music is important to me and shaped a big part of who I am. Their lyrics about being tortured, burnt-out, and choking on the weight of your own self-perceived flaws are relatable! Their compositions ooze with a level of self-hatred that can only be genuine. It's utterly depressing, and I adore it!

That's not not the full story, though. Jesse Lacey, the vocalist of Brand New, is a sexual predator. This informs everything about how the music of Brand New is. It's self-loathing for a very good reason. I love Brand New. I condemn Jesse Lacey. These two statements coexist. I used to be a part of the /r/brandnew subreddit, and when the allegations against Jesse Lacey came out in 2017, many redditors of that sub were quick to claim "death of the author." After all, the band had broken up immediately after the news broke, and they had also cancelled their tours. Currently, the people using that subreddit mostly talk about buying old BN merchandise and discuss what their favorite concert memories were. Jesse Lacey himself confirmed that the allegations against him were true, so there isn't much debate to be had. The subreddit serves as a monument for fans who still enjoy the music, and as a platform to speak about it with like-minded fans.

In my opinion, claiming "death of an author" is a slippery slope. We can't always claim that Miku is the creator of Minecraft. But often, we see that that is the response people have when a creator is outed to be problematic; "I still like the thing So-and-So made, so I will ignore that the creator exists!" The reason that this worked for Miku Minecraft is because, by the time that Notch was publicly making transphobic comments, he did not own Minecraft anymore. The joke is quite literally that he does not own the thing that people like. He sold it to Microsoft, so he doesn't get royalties from it anymore. You can play Minecraft devoid of supporting its original creator. This joke works so well because it is an actual case of the death of an author! That's great and all for Minecraft, but what about other instances? What happens when we claim "death of the creator" erroneously? And why are we so obsessed with this concept anyway?

So like, back to Brand New... they released their last album, Science Fiction, back in August 2017. The allegations came out later that same year. I own all of Brand New's discography physically, including their last release. I bought most of it off eBay when I was 15. I was not supporting them post-allegations. But that leaves me with a lingering question- what do I do with all these CDs that I still very much enjoy the music of? From how I see it, there are two firm camps on this topic:

Camp 1: You know about Lacey's crimes now and his music cannot be separated from his actions. Solution: Throw your CDs away.

Camp 2: It's something you bought without knowledge of Lacey's crimes, so you should enjoy it anyway. Death of an author! Solution: Continue as usual.

I'm not fond of either of these answers. They come off as too polarized for a situation that is the entire Pantone swatch library of grays. "But, how are there any shades of gray when its clear that Jesse Lacey is in the wrong?" I want to provide some counter questions for you to think about:

What about the other people in the band? You might not be directly supporting the sexual predator anymore, but there are other victims here too- effectively his band mates lost their jobs overnight. (Another example would be LOSTPROPHETS)

Is it feasible to destroy each object you own because it was created under problematic circumstances? When or when isn't this the case? Does it apply to your cup of coffee? Does it apply to the clothes you wear? What about any product with palm oil in it? What about the hardware in your computer? If you look into any company, you're going to find some horrific things you don't like about it. The takeaway here is that it isn't beneficial to treat situations like these as black or white. I don't think that destroying my CDs is going to do anything to take away the abuse that Jesse Lacey caused. Nor do I think ignoring the context of his music will do anyone any favors. The music he made is a product of his crimes. To ignore that fact would be disingenuous to why people enjoy his music and why the music exists in the first place. There's another element here, though. I, and many others, are no longer monetarily supporting Jesse Lacey. You can't even officially support the release of Brand New's music anymore as their record label (Procrastinate! Music Traitors) doesn't even seem to have a functioning website anymore? Regardless, I wouldn't want to support his music in a way that supports him, anyway. Yes, I enjoy the music and the themes of it, but I do not want to be directly supporting abuse that happened BECAUSE he was a vocalist in a band. And I can safely do this with CDs that I bought secondhand, right? This is death of the author. So what's the issue?

I believe there is an issue when people claim “death of the author” far too quickly and scramble to reclaim the media for themselves. It’s an increasingly popular trend these days to pluck characters/concepts from an author deemed to be problematic. "I'll save [Character I like] from this shitty piece of media!", they claim. I don't think people realize how multifaceted in effect that is, though. For instance, if the author is actively making money from their creation, you can't truly "reclaim" a character from them. It's more like you're paying homage to them with fanart.

My best on-going example of this would be Floraverse. There are a multitude of reasons why people do not like the author/s of Floraverse, which I will not go into here. To put it simply, though, since its inception in 2013, many artists and writers involved with Flora either left or were kicked out. These artists either directly contributed to the art and worldbuilding of the webcomic, or were heavily influenced by it. To this day, there are many times someone links me to art on Discord and I’ll say “oh I remember that person, they used to be a Flora fanartist!” and the other person is absolutely floored that that artist was ever linked to Floraverse. Anyway… There have been multiple attempts at people trying to reclaim Floraverse from the author, and this never works out. Like, it really doesn’t work out. Any time that someone tries to reclaim Floraverse characters for themselves whilst condemning the author, that person is dogpiled by the Floraverse community. Which is a weird behavior for a CC BY-SA webcomic, but I digress. Here are some highlights:

In 2019, there was a thread dedicated to Redesigning Floraverse that immediately got taken over by Floraverse itself a month later.

An artist got harassed for multiple years (I think it was 2020-2023) for having an oc based on Beleth, a character in Floraverse.

Just 2 months ago, an artist got harassed for drawing fanart of the characters

Historically, reclaiming Floraverse characters from the author hasn't worked out. And I mean.. why would it? It's an actively running "webcomic" (I'll be charitable) and with an active community that supports the author's current works and views with their wallets. It's one thing to enjoy a piece of media with a problematic author and want to reclaim that media for yourself. It is another for this reclamation to actually be effective. Attempts of "reclaiming" Floraverse get written off as fanworks that the community dislikes. You cannot reclaim Floraverse characters as they do not exist in a vacuum. Listening to secondhand Brand New CDs does work in a vacuum; Jesse Lacey's career is dead in the water. The same cannot be said for reclaiming the art of Glitchedpuppet and co. Floraverse characters and stories are not divorced from the abuses they cause. Characters will be used as strawmen to abuse community members, past or present. Or entire works will be up dedicated to making light of your childhood trauma! These characters were made by an abuser, and will be used to abuse. That is a simple fact about Floraverse. Except... in that statement, I'm not even talking about Glitchedpuppet, the current author of Floraverse. I'm talking about Marlcabinet, the previous author of Floraverse. This statement does however, apply to both of them. Hey, wait a minute, that's weird! I've been talking about "death of the author" for this entire post, and I just said that reclaiming Floraverse characters can't work because the way the characters were used to abuse real people doesn't exist in a vacuum. So like, why does this work within the Floraverse webcomic itself? Marl is the abuser of Glip, but Marl is also the author of the majority of early Floraverse. Isn't the story itself, as it currently stands, an act of reclaiming characters used to abuse community members, minors, and any detractors? Then who is to say that those who contributed to Floraverse and were similarly abused are not also allowed this same privilege? Their real-world suffering is what fuels the comic. When I was 13-16, I adored a Floraverse character named Cayenne. His whole deal was that he was an autistic child slave and was horribly abused by everyone around him. Weird character to connect to, but he’s the character that made me figure out I had autism! I drew a LOT of fanart of this character and I even own a (gifted) life-size plush of him. The authors only ever treated him as a joke and it was a joke even within the Floraverse community that I was the only person who actually liked/cared about him. Sometimes I think about reclaiming him for myself. But I also don’t want to get harassed, and I know I could design much better things, and write better things. Conversely, I also think about how this is the exact character that made me get into contact with Marl when I was 16. It’s a heavy weight to carry knowing that this exact character was the reason I was almost in the clutches of a child predator. Glip personally deferred me to him. Reclaiming Cayenne would hold emotional value for me as a reminder of my triumph over a predator. Would it be wrong for me to reclaim an abused child character from a comic that abused me and many others as children? I've no clue. And I don't think anyone can answer that. I've waffled on it for ~2 years now. Reclaiming Cayenne would give attention to an individual that profits off abusing others, myself included. I'd say that reclaiming Floraverse characters wouldn't be a case of "death of the author", but the original creator of them was a child predator that's no longer on the internet. Floraverse is already practicing death of an author, and it is a shell of its former self. That being said, it is not a story that only has one author. Its other authors are still active, and these authors include every person that it has abused in its wake. After all, it's a comic that relies on you to know about its dramas with and traumas of real people. Tell me: Does a death of the author matter when its being written about you?

One of the first scenarios that popped into my head when I first read TIITTV (I found this series around the time part 5 was posted), was a Drista vs Krang kind of fight. And then I realized Drista may be invincible by default, but that doesn’t mean she’s all that dangerous. (There’s a difference between dangerous and deadly, Dris is definitely a little deadly) So I let the thought go pretty quickly. But I fell down the rabbit hole again and was like, ‘hey, what if we put the deadliest characters from each world in the same room and see who was more dangerous?’ Then I thought: XD as dsmp’s most deadly/powerful. But when considering XD’s powers, it made me realize how little he actually uses them. And that’s when I went back to Drista. Because listen, XD may be more knowledgeable about his powers(and therefore is more able to restrain them in power), but, what is essentially a ‘baby’ god… Drista is the personification of Chaos for a reason. She’s as trigger happy as a 14 y/o logging onto her older brother’s Minecraft server through his account and going crazy with operator commands. (See what I did there ;>)

I thought about this a bit too much and I honestly have no idea anymore. There is an unexpected amount of stuff to consider about the SMP gods, and also a bit about Krang too. Thoughts :D?

Oh, dude, that'd be kinda sick actually. Buncha flashy weapon and potion summoning shots. But yeah, not that she'd know how to actually use them effectively, lmao, she'd have no need to ordinarily.

Hm, I could see an AU where Drista decided to go along with Tommy to check out where she was sending him- but we slide back the timeline a little bit to take place during the Krang invasion. We place some slightly arbitrary limitations on Dris where she can't make another portal right away, but it's too dangerous for them to just sit around doing nothing, hence, joining the fight.

Hm... I'm not sure how much I'd want to take away the main fights from the original rottmnt cast, pretty big part of Leo's character arc in particular, but I could also see Tom and Drista clocking that the big alien flesh ship up in the sky as the probable source of their problems. Drista could hypothetically fly up and help with some portion of the fight, even if that's just by throwing down splash potions to help Leo and hinder the Krang.

I mostly like the thought of her and Tommy tearing up, like, krangified busses and shit. Both because it's badass, and because it doesn't interfere too heavily with how the original storyline plays out.

Alternatively- Krang 2 (the sister Krang) is still on earth in government confinement or something. If she were to break out, she'd likely want revenge on the Hamatos, and especially April, no doubt. I... Have some things that haven't happened yet that would technically make contacting the members of the dsmp possible, but I can't say anything about it yet because it's a pretty big spoiler.

But when things go sideways, Tommy could hypothetically use this unspecified method to contact some godly assistance from the dsmp. So that's a pretty feasible way of setting up a hypothetical fight between one of the Krang and Drista. I doubt she actually has much genuine combat experience, so I could more so see her acting in a supporting role for the others- ooh, she could have a cool scene where she summons a thunderstorm and starts fighting by summoning lightning.

It'd be hard to hit such a fast moving target though, so it's not a completely overpowered ability. Possibly have to get the Krang to stay still for a few seconds to land a shot on her?

Anyway, that's about the extent of my ideas for this concept. Although I'm fairly certain I'm not going to be involving the Krang at all in this series (outside of being mentioned), it was fun to think through the hypotheticals :D

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? *Yes,* absolutely! Honestly, comments (and responding to them) are probably one of my favorite parts of actually publishing fic. I get a lot of joy from writing them, but seeing and hearing from other people that liked them too, or share the same headcanons? *chef's kiss*

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Honestly, probably my most recent one, Her Brother's Keeper. I don't typically write "bad ending" fics, so this one was definitely a big step for me haha

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Again, most of the things I write have happy endings, so this is hard 😂

I personally really love it when "the war is over" and they can finally just get married and be CHILL so I'd have to say either "The Things We Agree to Believe are True" or "The Essential Guide to Avian Development."

8. Do you get hate on fics? Not really, thankfully! I've had a couple comments from John Phoenix here and there but I don't take it personally.

9. Do you write smut? Sometimes! I have a bad habit of writing smut that Must Have 10K Words of Prelude First, and while I am trying to "break" that habit, I actually really enjoy a story to go with it!

10. Do you write crossovers? I actually did write one for the Wright Anything Zine a few months ago! Of course, it was DnDads x Ace Attorney, and I... need to publish it lol

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Oh goodness, not to my knowledge.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? No I haven't! I haven't had much of anything with that much traction though, but it would be cool in the future!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, but I would love to! I was actually talking through it with a friend a while back.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship? Of course I love Narumitsu, but I don't know if it's my "all time favorite..." I'm not sure what it is off the top of my head!

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Ironically enough, it's also the first Ace Attorney fic I ever wrote! It's a farmer Phoenix AU in which Miles also has amnesia, and over the course of his recovery they of course fall in love (dawwww). I would also love to add more to the Elfworth series! I have. His whole life planned out lol

16. What are your writing strengths? To be honest, I'm not completely sure! I like to think I can come up with original plots or ideas, but I know I still have a lot of work to do.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Sometimes I have some trouble connecting my points or writing "effective" scenes, amongst other things. (dang now these questions are making me want to keep up with this...)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I don't do it too often! Typically if I do include it, I'll either use something that is very common knowledge or provide a translation in the author's notes. Having said that, I've written some unpublished stuff for Avian AU where Phoenix and his mother are talking, and in *that* case I just wrote the dialogue in English with a clarification that they are speaking a different language. I'm always so nervous about getting a translation wrong though lol

19. First fandom you wrote for? Ohh man. Probably My Little Pony or Minecraft to be honest. Don't ask; you'll never see them and they're written in missing notebooks anyway 😂

20. Favourite fic you've ever written? AHH THIS IS SO HARD! I love a lot of my fics just so so much. I absolutely adore Avians and the Elfworth series, just because I love writing AUs and coming up with lore and everything. I also really really enjoy Kindergarten Cop and Great Big Leaps because I love writing little kids and how they act because they make me laugh.

I think overall, though, my most favorite would have to be "The Things We Agree to Believe Are True." It was fun, experimental, and just a really euphoric way to write a new story as I was getting through my senior year. I had a blast with it, and I'm always so thankful that it got so much support, as well!

152,370... more than I would have thought honestly damn. I knew I had a good few hundred thousand words rattling around in the bowels of my computer but I didn't know I'd posted that many

3. What fandoms do you write for?

primarily elder scrolls (to everyone's surprise, I'm sure) but I've taken up writing for bg3 over on @spellsparkler recently... evidently playing rpgs Does Something to me. the combination of preset narrative and freedom of interpretation of character makes some evil little cog in my brain start spinning and sparking. I have also, on a completely unrelated ao3 account, written exactly two fics for pentiment... might do more of that in future. it's a beautiful game and surprisingly easy to write for. highly recommend

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

All's Fair in a Burning House , Welcome to my Table (Bring Your Hunger), the glarthir fic, Comfort and Etienne Rarnis Goes Home. an interesting batch

I try! sometimes I forget for too long and then I feel guilty for forgetting and I put it off more because I feel guilty. it's a supremely unhelpful thought process. but for the most part I do. I always read them, often multiple times, and they bring me great joy

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

hmm. to be honest I don't think I've ever thought about this before... I've never set out to write something that ends sadly, just to say whatever they need to say. there's also the issue that the majority of what I post is shortform - they're snapshots of a wider narrative, not a whole cohesive arc in themselves - so much of what I write doesn't HAVE endings. the pieces that do tend more than anything to be bittersweet, I think. I guess I would say A Study in Self-Immolation? I wouldn't call it "angsty" but it definitely has more of a downward trajectory than anything else. it has a catastrophe and everything

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

same problem here! I have plenty of short pieces with more cheerful tones but a lot of my more self-contained stuff tends to have a certain Atmosphere. 8. Do you get hate on fics?

ONCE. when I was 10 or 11 I was called a slur in the comments of a minecraft fic and it has brought me much amusement ever since (they were angry that I kept saying "shone" instead of "shine") (to be fair I for sure overused the word at that age. but it was PAST TENSE. I WAS RIGHT) (and also it was a minecraft fanfiction obviously written by a child. do you really have nothing better to do)

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I am. literally only just now beginning to get past my mental block for writing romance let's not get ahead of ourselves here in all earnestness in my efforts to practice writing romantic relationships I have found that I'm fine alluding to or mentioning sex, but the idea of writing a play-by-play sex scene sounds awkward and uninteresting for me, and I highly doubt that I could write it in a way that didn't feel stilted and trite. maybe in the future I will find some purpose for it and will endeavour to figure it out! but for now... absolutely zero appeal. I'm still working on getting confident enough to post the pieces where people kiss on the mouth or whatever

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

never have! never plan to! I get why it would be fun for people but it's just not that interesting an idea to me

I haven't. it's not something I would be opposed to but it does sound difficult... I'm used to hashing things out on my own and working at my own (occasionally very slow) pace, I'm not sure how that would work with someone else

I am entirely too aromantic for this question. don't get me wrong I love mashing two characters together it's just that whether they kiss about it is not even remotely a concern for me? number one question is it at least a little bit fucked up number two question what is the symbolism and narrative devices about it. no follow up questions. does a ship have to be romantic? or do I have to be specifically invested in the romance part of it for it to count? I have a truly endless list if the answer to either is no

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

all the old things I started when I was a kid and never finished. I'm pretty good about eventually getting things done now that I'm focusing on more short-form stuff... there is the thing that I'm working on (in the loosest sense) that I'm taking a long ass break from but I honestly believe I will get back to it and finish it. eventually

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I'm good at building layered and interesting dynamics between characters - I've gotten compliments on that before (blushing curtseying etc) and it's probably one of my favourite things about writing. relatedly I think I'm pretty good at subtext and showing things without stating them outright

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I mentioned earlier that I'm trying to get past my awkwardness when writing anything to do with romance - I don't like that there's something that is a significant part of a lot of peoples' lives that I don't really know how to write. I'm working on it and I think I'm getting better at it already though... I think it's more of a mental block and the worry of getting it wrong than anything else. fingers crossed I'll be confident enough to post some of my attempts soon I think staying committed to writing longer-form pieces is also something I'd like to improve on, in the future. I could also use a lot of improvement in the editing department - in that I barely do it, and I think coming into things with more intention and being better at paring them down and keeping to that goal would be really helpful, especially with more ambitious projects

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I think when it's done well (and sparingly) it can really add something to the piece, but my monolingual ass could not do it well. I've tried; it's a difficult thing to implement without it feeling clunky, and it's not something I'm prioritising improving on. I do like to see it when it's done right though

minecraft when I was like 10 or 11 (it had all this weird mythological worldbuilding and my main character was annoying as hell) (I got called a slur over it, as you may recall)

man I think I have to say Comfort. it's just over a year old now and it's probably not the most technically skilled thing I've written, but the concept and subject matter is really close to my heart and I'm proud of it. it was born out of a lot of my own experiences with and perspectives on mental illness, as well as an effort to create something with more humanity and understanding than tes shows its disordered caricatures - both to humanise them and to try to write a version of the idea of mental illness (as sheogorath) that doesn't have to be a monster. jeonghan: my mortal enemy and best friend. We are essentially the same person I fear. I am extremely nurturing and mature, but that doesn’t mean I won’t try and trick you. I act like a second mother, but I will try and convince you of something ridiculous. (example: I am very nurturing to my brother but I also convinced him that if he touched train tracks he would be electrocuted). Jeonghan, Josh and I would be absolute terrors. At the same time, much like how jeonghan and josh can be each others enemies and set the other up, I would fall into the same category. But I can definitely see jeonghan trying to get me to do something I don’t want to do and making me irritated lol

Hi! I was wondering if you have any suggestions on the best way to get a hermitcraft crash course? I’d like to watch some of their POVs this MCC too so I can round out my participant knowledge some more, but I would like to get to know the hermits as much as I can before then if possible! Are there good compilations, big events with a lot of them in it, classic videos that everyone should see, etc, or is it best to just watch a recent video or two from season 9 for everyone? I’ve been meaning to get into hermitcraft for a while now because I know I’ll really enjoy it, but I unfortunately just haven’t had enough free time recently to properly get into it. hi! so, generally, "watch a recent season 9 video" is a great option. my other long-standing general suggestion is to watch the hermitcraft recap! i just linked this season's playlist! it's a great way to get a sense of what's going on with the hermits in a given season, and is absolutely the fastest way to "catch up" if that's something you're interested in! episodes are normally between fifteen and twenty-five minutes long and tell you everything the hermits have done on a given week! it's also the best way to choose the specific hermits you want to watch most, since it gives you a very good idea of the kinds of projects those hermits tend to work on! go forth. watch the recap.

my other immediate advice is: don't watch everyone, and start with this season. like, watch old seasons! they're good! but they aren't requirements. you will not need them to understand what is going on. and watching everyone? there are too many people. don't do that. pick your favorites and stick with them. most people have a few Guys who are their Hermitcraft Guys (mine, for example, is Joe Hills), and will consistently watch them, and will decide whether they watch other people based on how much time they have and their interest! you'll be fine if you just like... watch the few that interest you most, and if you need to know what's going on everywhere, watch the recap.

given that you're interested in learning specifically about the hermits participating in mcc, i can also go ahead and recommend a thing or two for said mcc hermits. (not all of these guys are in this mcc, but these are the typical hermit competitors.) these aren't like... essential videos? but they're my recommendations of "good things to watch from these guys if you want to get to know them", you know? (under the cut because this got long.)

grian: two recommendations for him. my first is a bit self-indulgent, but: watch third life. technically this applies here for like, three of these guys, and it's not hermitcraft, but it's one of my favorite things grian has ever, ever done and it's only eight episodes (about four hours worth of watching total) and it will rewire your brain and you will never stop thinking about it. watch third life.

anyway if you want another episode that i think encapsulates a lot of grian's general vibes this one from season 8 is very fun. (there's also moon big plot stuff going on in the background but like, you can ignore that, grian being an idiot is the important part.)

scar: in scar's case... third life or 100 hours are still great options but i already recommended third life. here's episode one from hermitcraft 9. it gives you a very good sense of the sorts of things scar tends to get up to on hermitcraft. alternately let me toss you his season 7 finale because season 7 is when i started watching him and i am very fond of a lot of the things he did then.

cubfan: the episode from this season that gets across best what kind of person cubfan is is absolutely the one where he, joe, and scar inexplicably decide to break into keralis's (minecraft) house and throw a party without asking. so like. go watch that one. alternately, go watch the moon mcgee episode from the season 8 big moon plotline. because its hysterical and i'll never be over it.

pearl: the introduction to pearl for hermitcraft fans included her arbitrarily deciding to rotate her entire base by 90 degrees because she decided it didn't look good and that's SO memorable that i'm linking that episode here. alternately, it is incredibly important to know and understand that pearl is skrunkly. she is so skrunkly. go watch this episode from this season, in which she just gets increasingly... skrunkly. it's fantastic.

gem: surprise i'm linking a not hermitcraft thing again! gem's recent skyblock oneblock hardcore series is just personally a favorite of mine so i'm going to push people to go watch that. as for more recent gem episodes that i think get across her vibe pretty good, here's the episode where she drained an ocean monument!

false: false, i will admit, is the hermitcraft mcc participant that i know the least well, so my recommendations here will probably the least good. i remember really liking this one in season 7 where she added striders to her base to be aliens when i watched it. and her bird is still one of the best things in season 9's spawn so here, her first episode of season 9.

and actually, while we're here, since you're specifically an mcc fan... blue bats blue bats blue bats blue bats

ren: watch stargazer. watch stargazer. watch stargazer. it's his season 7 finale and it's an entire movie and it's great. gives you an overview of his style, of what he'd done all season, and is just super well-produced. go watch it. go. otherwise i'm going to recommend this season 8 episode because it's just one of my favorite things ren and doc did that season.

...and actually, while i'm here... watch third life. renchanting pov instead of desert duo this time. once again. holy shit you won't regret it.

Minecraft lore pt 1: Magic

Enchating

Enchanting tables are made with obsidian,books AND diamonds.Now this already raises some eyebrows because obsidian is one of the canon magical ingredients.Meaning its important to the magic system.But lets put that away for later.Lets move on to the next ingredient,books.It seems that knowledge is extremely important to the system as a whole.Think of exp,a physical interpretation (cant find a better word) of your ingame knowledge.Exp is extremely important to Enchanting things.It plays a role in almost everything in minecraft.Other things that point to knowledge being important to Minecrafts magic system is the fact that the most notable villager who sells enchanted things is the LIBRARIAN.

The last ingredient is Diamonds,but i don't see that as adding anything magical (feel free to debate me),i see it more as decoration.So now lets move onto the actual FUNCTION of enchantment tables.They enchant things,and besides potions (and gold,but more on that later),its the only way for the player and many other "sentient" mobs to obtain magic for themselves. Enchating is pivotal to a game,and it has a huge impact on the lore.its going to come up in other sections a LOT,so-

Levels

Next is levels.

I personally think that levels indicate life force,how much the soul knows.Its why soul sand tries to absorb them.Plus they're only used to enchant items,which directly ties them to the magic system.The more you have,the easier it is to get high enchantments,so that would mean,(atleast according to my theory) that enchantment tables run off of life force.Levels being tied to your life force can also explain why skulk only spreads when exp drops on them (although the warden is a whole other can of worms)

Potions

Ah the potion system my beloved <3.

The potion system is like an equation (ew math) lets pretnd that b (base) = n + p (neatherwart and blaze powder). What then is b + I? (i being the stand in for ingredient).That probably made no sense,but my point is,what makes "b" important and what about "b" makes "I" react? (its like chemistry)

So lets take the base akward potion for example.It gives you no effect,so now we know that "n" by itself cannot cause a potion affect.But what about,for example, fire resistance.Does the netherwart make the magma cream less intense? Is that why you cant ingest magma cream by itself? These are the types of questions that come up when talking about minecrafts potion lore.Now,for times sake i wont go into all the details,but i think you get my point.

Gold

Gold is one of Minecrafts most magical properties. It can heal you!! Revive you!! Make you able to see in the dark!! Make you invisible,and so much more!! So heres what ive found out about gold.

It has major healing properties,and when properly ingested,has several affects.When coated lightly around an apple,it heals your body and allows you to take more hits.However,when heavily coated,it becomes enchanted,glowing with the same purple glow usually only artifacts and things enchanted with an enchantment table do.When consumed,it not only heals you and allows you to take more hits (both to a much higher degree),buf it also makes you resistant to fire,but also a general resistance.

Lets take another example.Totems of undying.They raise you from the dead.They can also only be found in a certian way,but thats for another post.But the point is that they are made almost fully of gold.Again an example of gold having healing properties.

Another example is a potion of instant health,which is made with glistering melon.And what is glistering melon made of? Oh yeah,gold and watermelon slices.Yet Another example of gold having healing potions.

Also golden carrots are the not only the BEST food source in the game (more healing properties in a way),but they also are used to make both night vision and invisibility potions,so take that as you will.

My theory about the world of Minecraft is this: Minecraft itself is filled woth magic,to its very core.I belive that minecraft itself IS magic,and is powered by it.So youll see magic coming up a wholeee ton

big wels fan and i miss him so im thinking up ideas of my own for headcanons. so far we've got:

-he's the knight of the hermitcraft server, we all know this. that's his thing. but him serving the server world as if it's his lady/lord? as knights (to my knowledge) often treated their ladies as they would their lords. and it wasn't uncommon to see knights serving ideas as their lords, like where they lived and whatnot. the house serving as a lord. i just prefer to call the server his lady when we think about his diabolical rap lines. he refers to hermitcraft as "she". nothing crazy but there's a lot of potential i like here.

-with serving hermitcraft as his lady, he's bound to it by code. you can play with this however you like because there's lots of ways to play with minecraft mechanics for smp headcanons. i like to imagine he's bound by code, so he follows hermitcraft wherever it ends up being. he's in less danger than the other hermits when situations such as the moon impact happen, even if he did technically escape via flying car. i also like to use this idea to say that he is a non-play entity. in which ways? i think you can do anything with that. npc by nature is my go-to for ideas. or he started as an npc and stuff changed as he went along. or maybe he's still fully or mostly npc, with just some crazy ai that's adapted to the hermits. npc and fae creature also works well.

-with having slept through the end of season 6 and beginning of 7, as well as taking a hiatus now from season 9, sleeping is how the server protects him from internal code issues regarding him or her. he's big on sleep anyways to keep monsters away, but there are times when he'll fall into coma-like sleep for extended periods and emerge someplace new most times. you'll never see him when this happens, as the server tends to protect him via vine and tree growth around wherever it keeps him, but he's somewhere outside. however, the extended sleep causes more issues for his physical body and he's saddled with bouts of chronic pain and his legs are always weaker for a long time after he wakes up from these periods. they're much weaker than they used to be, and he can't regain that same muscle, but he can regain some alongside any pain that lingers because of it.

-during these sleep periods that he's unaware of before waking up again, he exists within a plethora of dream worlds. during season 9, this would be his current modded series. they exist between the realm of real worlds off-world of hermitcraft and being fake. it's really wishy washy

other fun headcanons that aren't my go-to but i enjoy seeing around:

-wels is haunted/animated armor. either him or hels is. or both

-wels is just some guy that showed up one day. bypassed server walls and all somehow. he doesn't know either. but in exchange for staying after that little mishap he takes role of knight of the server and makes sure similar things don't happen again. like an added layer to the firewall or some sort of antivirus protector.

I would like to talk to you all about a specific interpretation of a mcyt character. Or well multiple, but let's not get into that yet.

This character, and let's call them character X for simplicity, has one interpretation of them that I have seen a few times and I'm going to go over it.

This person is an enby canonical, which is very fun. X has a brother, who they used to be close to, but due to fate they have been estranged to a point of hostility. What is this fate you may ask? Getting mind controlled by an evil entity who forces them to go around trying to destroy shit, ruining people's lives, and generally sabotaging their relationship with everyone. People don't question if they are not in control because of some circumstance of their existence that marks them as destined to be evil in the knowledge of everyone around them, and especially their brother. Character X has a black and red color scheme. They probably need a hug. Thinking about it, calling them “X” could technically work off of their name, although it might get kind of confusing.

Now the fun thing is, depending of who you are you either have one of two characters in mind now, either that or you are a very confused dsmp fan and if you are im sorry, but to everyone else:

Were you thinking about Xornoth or Ex, I wanna know.

More than that, I'm kind of thinking about these two in parallel like that now. Ngl i want them to meet.

My #1 post of 2022

I have seen some people saying that they think people should stop, or will stop, creating art and stories about Technoblade because he died, and I am glad that is not the majority idea, but I have a story I wanted to tell because of this to explain where my philosophy on this comes from. A story about, surprisingly, Joe hills and a much younger Rose.

Once, about two years ago I was writing my first fanfiction and I asked Joe if he had anything to say to the Hermitcraft fanfiction writers. I think that I would not ask such a thing now, the line between what area of fan content and thoughts should be shared with the content creators is a blurred and moving line and I know for certain that that question sits on the blur, but I am nonetheless glad for the answer Joe gave me.

I don’t remember what he said exactly, and I would never be able to phrase it as well as Joe phrased it, but in summary his response, mixed with how I internalized, was basically this: The hermits are essentially folk heroes, that the fact we live in a time where folk heroes can be talked to is remarkable, but that does not change this fact: folk heroes have not control over the stories people tell about them.

In conclusion, Technoblade is a folk hero, not was, is. The man who inspired the stories is gone, but the stories will not change, nor should they. People will continue to tell stories about the same hero, whether or not he is alive because the stories are about folk heroes and folk heroes live till they are forgotten.

Minecraft Server Hosts (Java)

So, you want to run a minecraft server for you and your pals, but you don't know where to go to get a good host worth your price that won't suck ass.

How do you know what server hosts are good? What do all the specs mean? Are they lying to you?

Now, I'm not the single voice on this stuff by any means, and I'm sure there's much more info better than what I've got... But I have been running private minecraft servers since 2012 and I feel like I have at least a little bit of knowledge and experience to share.

More below.

I am going to discuss all possible server hosting methods through the following categories: Pricing, Performance, Trustworthiness, Accessibility

I will also emphasise something important: It does not matter how many cores the CPU of your host has, minecraft runs only on a single thread even for servers. Anything of minecraft that runs on multiple threads is very much just light stuff, but the main game runs on a single thread. There ARE mods that attempt to multithread minecraft, but they are all experimental and buggy as fuck. Worth trying, but not worth depending on.

You need to figure out what CPU they use and if it works for single threads. Multi-threaded server hosts are just bragging about the hardware. You can find a list of CPU's good at single-thread processing HERE

In addition, more RAM =/= Better Performance. In fact, too much RAM can be detrimental because your CPU can't keep up with collecting the garbage data and disposing of it. In an ideal setting of your-average-friend-group you will need maybe 8-10gb of RAM dedicated. Never dedicate the full possible amount of RAM you can have for your server, always do 1GB less so the server has breathing room if necessary. So i.e if you have 12GB available, you put the max to 11GB.

Now that that's out of the way, we can begin with the review.

Let's first start with the most obvious one that I 100% suggest if you have some semblance of tech saviness or a tech savvy relative you can ask the assistance of.

SELF HOSTED SERVER

Your BEST option is always to self-host. But NOT on your own device. If you choose to run a dedicated server on the same device you intend to play on, you will have a bad time unless your PC is a beast. On top of that, your server will not be able to run 24/7. I do not recommend doing this unless you have a dedicated serverroom or a robust PC dedicated to only doing these things.

But, with self-hosted I mean specifically: Purchasing a cloud server from a decent host and installing everything yourself.

Price: The prices tend to come quite cheap for what you get. My private server is ~2TB of storage, Pretty good hardware, and 16gb of RAM available. You can get something small and cheap for only 12$ but if you want to use it for more than just minecraft you can get more.

Performance: Performance is tricky. You have to do your research on what you'll need for your server to run well. In my case, we're asking a contract change soon to upgrade the hardware of our server to an i7 because our current hardware does not handle single-thread servers very well.

However, once you've gone past the trickiness, the performance of a self-hosted server can be great and will outmatch most dedicated minecraft server providers.

Self hosting is great for Vanilla or Modded.

Trustworthiness: Its as trustworthy as you can make it. PLEASE look properly into server security so your entire service doesn't get hacked- not just your minecraft server. I can't say much on this topic as my father handles this side of things more than me.

For your minecraft server specifically, the best way to keep it safe is always keep on a whitelist, even if you wont be sharing the IP publically. Ensure you run your server not on the default 25565 port. Server scrapers will try to break in- we've had it happen with mine literal MINUTES after launching it! Server scrapers are bot accounts that will try to identify any open, unwhitelisted servers on the 25565 port. These scrapers can have the possibility of identifying multiple things about any server such as: Server version, if it's modded, its MOTD, playercount, and if the whitelist is off. (Do note that that whole rumor of Jeb_'s server being found and griefed that FITmc spread is likely entirely false, video explanation here, but this does not negate the fact that people can scrape this info rather easily.)

Accessibility: It's not accessible to people who know fuckall about tech. A decent amount of tech literacy is required to understand how to run a server like this. It is, however, incredibly worthwhile to learn. It's not convenient to self-host unless you already happen to be running your own private cloud or whatever.

MINECRAFT REALMS

Pricing: 8$/month, 30-day Realm for 10$, 90-day Realm for 27$ If you don't want to be stuck in a subscription, you pay more! How scummy. Good job microsoft.

Performance: 4GB world size max, No Modding, Render & Simulation distance is locked to a max of 8 and can not be altered in any way. This means regardless of how big YOUR personal render distance is, it won't go beyond 8 because the server locks it. One realm can have up to 3 world "slots", but only one can be active at a time. There is no static info about how much GB RAM they have dedicated, based on what I found their RAM is dynamic? It's unclear as they probably don't want to 100% disclose their specs.

Trustworthiness: It's microsoft. If you trust em, good for you.

Accessibility: Incredibly accessible as there is basically zero setup on the user's end.

Verdict: Not worth it unless you really dont want to deal with alternate hosts.

BISECT HOSTING

To be up front, I have not USED this one, so i'm speaking from what I'm seeing. and able to research

Pricing: Has Premium & Budget. a 6GB server (recommended modpack minimum) is 30$ for Premium, and 18$ for budget. The difference between Premium and budget is automatic modpack installation, Adjustable player slots, dedicated IP, automated backups, and a few others that dont matter to the average player. It is not really worth the markup.

Performance: They use Intel Xeon processors, SSD's, in general their specs are *really* good and I would not be surprised if their servers run entirely smoothly. However, the claim that a server can have up to 12 players online with only 1GB of ram (their cheapest option at 3$) is giving people false hope. Even the original minecraft realms offers gave a minimum of 2GB and did not expect more than two players to be able to play at a time.

Trustworthiness: I can't speak for this, but based on their support offers and their money-back guarantee, on top of general reviews stating they're very reliable, I would say they're trustworthy.

Accessibility: All server hosting comes with what is basically a multicraft control panel, which is very accessible. Automatic server installation is also very accessible and friendly. In general, I would say it seems to be good for anyone looking for a good server that's easy to set up and has everything you need.

Verdict: Ridiculously pricy, but if you have the money and don't want to deal with hassle its worthwhile. On top of that, a lot of modders are sponsored by them, so you can often use a promo code to get 25% off of your server and support a modder that way. (Though frankly if you want to support a modder I'd just throw a few bucks to their dono page or smth)

MC PRO HOSTING

Pricing: 6GB ram (minimum for modpacks) is 34$/month, Their customisable package looks convenient and cheap, but honestly would likely result in "set up your server with worse features for more money". It's very tricksy.

Performance: They claim you can have 100 possible players on only 6GB of ram. Even the best servers struggle with 100 players and I can tell you they certainly have more than 6GB dedicated- it's boasting numbers to sound good and it is absolutely not accurate. They also boast Intel Xeon processors which are at least good for minecraft, and they seem to have stopped boasting that they got multiple cores which was misleading.

Trustworthiness: They have a history of actively lying about their service and how well it can do things, on top of boasting in the past that having multi-threaded CPU's was good for the server. They changed this, which is good, but I personally don't like it. They provide DDoS protection and last I used them their support team was active and quick, which is good. Daily backups with no extra costs is also very kind of them.

Accessibility: Quick to set up and access, back in the day their control panel was a mess, they probably fixed it now.

Verdict: Overpriced and lying about the capabilities of their service, but if you know the limits yourself and can manage the server with those limits in mind you would have a decent server host.

SPARKEDHOST

Pricing: Offers Budget, Enterprise, and Extreme options. Assuming the 6GB modpack minimum... Budget: 6$, Enterprise 13$, Extreme 24$. Pricing is very reasonable, especially for what it offers in performance.

Performance: Offers Intel Xeon Processors *or* the equivalent. Take note of that. What is fascinating to me, is that their Extreme offers do boast MUCH better single-thread performance. Meaning they are aware how important the single-thread performance is for minecraft servers.

Trustworthiness: They don't boast how many players a server can host, which is great. However, it does boast that it has multiple cores (aka threads) available in its services. which, as you know, is basically useless for minecraft. On the other hand, as mentioned above the service does boast that single thread performance is increased for its extreme packages, meaning that they are open about the importance of that for a minecraft server. Having used this service before, I also must say that they are reliable and quite responsive on the support team.

Accessibility: Their control panel is pleasant to use and easy to understand. It's a pretty good server host and the fact they do explain the importance of single thread makes it more accessible to people trying to figure out how to find a good server. Other than that, it is basically like any other server host. It does not boast automatic modpack setup, though.

Verdict: Frankly one of my favourite server hosts and the one I would utilise if I didn't have a self-hosted one. Cheap, reliable, and doesn't lie about the capabilities of the server to you.

NITRADO

This is the server host i'm using right now while my self-hosted server is down for maintenance for a while.

Pricing: It's default preset packages all boast 2GB of ram for at the lowest like 2$. Otherwise, it offers a customisable package. The service i'm using is a customised package, where I selected 4 slots, a 30 day runtime, and its maximum 7GB of ram for modpacks. It costed me 13$ or so.

Performance: I can not find any information on either their website or online about exactly what their specs are which... Isn't great. Supposedly its Intel Xeon too? But the performance is weak to say the least. In addition, the website control panel is slow as all hell and the server frequently has strange issues that at this rate I have attributed to the server launching incorrectly when doing its restarts. Because I have only a 30-day package I'm not bothering to contact support over this but... Keep it in mind.

Trustworthiness: Since they're not up front about their specs I can't say they're very trustworthy. They also separate their preset packages based on player slots and not server performance.

Accessibility: They have automatic modpack setup for a large amount of mods but are not up to date with the most recent curseforge available modpacks. Other than that their control panel is confusing and awkward to use and its more convenient to utilise their FTP file access rather than just the ease of uploading things to their website THROUGH their website.

Verdict: Not worth the money. I was trying it out to familiarise myself with their services for a potential ARK server but if a minecraft server is like this Im not gonna trust it for an ARK server.

NITROUS NETWORKS

Pricing: 6GB it asks 24$/month. It boasts its pricing based on amount of players it can handle and you all know the drill on that. Boasts support for all mods and has automatic mod setup included in the pricing which is nice.

Performance: It's information about the specs is a little wonky to find with how they just prattle on a line of info about specs instead of a nice list, but they provide Xeon processors too that are not on the single thread CPU benchmark list. make of that what you will. They also claim to offer 9900k servers which are at the very bottom of single thread performance. I frankly would not use this for modded, but I know it performed decently on vanilla. It did begin chugging once more than 4 players were online at a time, unfortunately, and we did have one of the higher packages too.

Trustworthiness: Their tech support is quick and you can request them to put you on their 9900k servers manually without extra cost afaik. However, they recommend the modpack minimum being the 3GB RAM package which is frankly just lying to your customers about the capability of your services.

Accessibility: Probably one of the most pleasant control panels i've had the joy of using. The website is sleek, responsive, and uploading files is easy.

Verdict: It's a good service, but gets outshined by cheaper, better, and more robust alternatives.

There is a slew of other server hosts out there too that I may not be aware of, but I hope that this review of some of the known ones can aid in helping you find your most preferred server host- or at least be educational to you in some form.

It's been pretty hard trying to wrap my head around the fact he's gone, most days whenever I think of him I wildly swing between denial and grief. I haven't really cried since the first initial day but it still really hurts and I miss him alot, I don't even know what I'd do in order to have him back, to hear his laughter and jokes again. I'm still not able to watch his videos and I skipped half of philzas last stream cause hearing about him and all his unfulfilled plans really hurt. I barely managed to catch the last half and it still hurt alot to see philza giving away so much stuff to the museum.

Most days I just miss him alot, I have no idea how to put it into prettier words, I just miss him like nothing else and I really wish this was just a very long and cruel dream. That I'll be waking up before I know it and I'll be shivering in bed of how vivid a dream that all was only to just put on a techno vid to feel better. In a way, deep down, I hope that's the case and I'm okay if the last year vanished before my eyes if it means that he's back and healthy. But that's not the case, this is our reality, my reality, and I miss him so much but at the same time I know I need to keep walking forward. Sometimes it makes it a bit easier to know that he loved and laughed so genuinely, that he loved the story that I loved, and he had so much to tell.

I'm not sure how long it'll take to make the sting go away and I'll be able to think or hear of him without feeling a bolt of denial and depression. But I know it'll get better, cause the knowledge that he loved and cherished him memory and all the time I had with him will always be worth it. I still don't regret clicking onto his channel in 2019, I still don't regret becoming curious seeing him kill tubbo, I don't regret listening to his skyblock videos while I played minecraft myself. I can't thank him for all the comfort he's brought me like I wish I could, one of my dreams was to eventually meet him once he beat cancer. Perhaps I would gotten him some piggy charms and a bracelet, that would've been cute, I would've spent alot of time making sure that he would've at least enjoyed it.

I can't do that now, but I have his plushies, his videos on my playlist, all the music and fic inspired by him, but god I miss him with a vicious longing. I have no idea what's on the other side or how death even works, not sure if I want to know tbh, but I really hope that I see him again one day if that's possible. I have no idea how or if it's even possible, but I would love for all of us to have a chance again of what we never got to see. I'm more than happy to relive this life beat by beat if it means I get to see him again and he survives, I'm okay with that.

I just miss him alot and Tommy's video and cyberknife just made today more hard than usual.

I don't know how to end this but, I loved him and I'm glad that he loved me in the only way he could.

I GOT A LITTLE CARRIED AWAY ERM.... and also got embarrassed near the end so i tried hurrying up the last section....

Okok so uhmmm there are some of my oldest ocs i’ve had which would be Wren and Una (and also Xavier but i haven’t drawn him yet so erm.) so like. Their whole story is, ahhh difficult for the most part cause it was created 5 years ago and i was god awful at stories and i’m still trying to fix it so in a summary Wren has adoption papers thrown at him for Una at the ripe old age of 17 because he did not feel right seeing the child of the man he was friends with and saw as a father figure get sacrificed (even if it will help the town not go to shit) because he felt like he needed to atleast give back to the man since he passed. But he takes Una and because of the fact that the town could not kill her the town slowly starts decaying which is kinda fucked up honestly if you think about it. And it’s not like the town can pick someone else it’s kinda predetermined every ten years thanks to the horrific beast that has cursed the town it’s a lil silly👍. But because of that they’re kinda constantly being followed because the town people desperately need Una. So it’s kinda like that for about 5-6 years, Wren is now like 22-23 and Unas about 8 cool? Cool. And for Xavier it’s a lil difficult but he kinda helps them out around that time by taking them in cause he was returning back home to visit his mother (who is very much on her death bed at that point) That's like the most i have for their story i don't have an ending but it gets grim kinda and Xavier is the only human out of the trio that's fun he's also like 25. i don't know what Wren is supposed to be he's just blue, and Una is like half human half sheep demon, i’ve tried to make her appearance like a highland sheep but it's not going so well as of right now lol….

Agh and there’s also my minecraft oc. His name is Box because i did nawt want to come up with a name for him so i just call him that cuz my user on minecraft is the same as here lol… but the funny thing is for him with my silliness he’s basically a retired god. And also a deadbeat parent. Both to his bio children and also like his actual creations he made by his own hands. He stopped being a god because he literally got bored and wanted to travel. He is so avoidant with things and only cares about traveling and tea he’s awful and i love him also he’s old. Really old. And also has fox ears and a fox tail. Did i mention he’s old.

There’s also my dnd character!!!! His name is Ilias and i don’t have a basis of actual lore for him but i loveeeee talking about him. He’s a wood elf who is honestly looks like a sick young tree (he’s like 203 cm tall). You know that image of Charlie from Always Sunny. The pepe silvia scene? That’s his personality kinda but in a more academic way. He is not normal about knowledge, but when is a wizard normal about that shit like actually. He manages to somehow not get insta killed despite having 14 AC and 14 hitpoints…for now atleast. Also he can use infestation, and basically mite blasts people which is really funny. He also manages to get sick about things a lot, don’t let him in a cramped vehicle of any sorts.

Okay so now we have ocs that i have tossed into games cause it’s funny. So there are two characters who are actually siblings, fraternal twins actually! Uh their names are Kisho and Kuran and both of them are for two different games (Kisho is meant for o.bey me and Kuran is for t.wst but this is not about the games i’m about to infodump their lore because holy shit did i fuck things up for them) So the funny thing is for them while they’re twins Kuran is the youngest because he was born like a few minutes after midnight L. so both of them are capable of magic erm both parents are witches ( i actually intend to draw them soon!) and also like the healthiest bio parents i have ever created it’s so crazy (they almost blew eachother up multiple times as teens because they wanted to practice together <3) the difference is Kisho is actually better though because he stuck with his studies and Kuran kinda is just a “fuck it we ball” type person for magic. Oh also did i mention how they’re twins and Kuran is just a day younger? Yea well i lied. So they WERE the same age until they were 11. In which then Kisho had got pissed off at Kuran and ran off to go hide from him to calm down and uh. He kinda got sent to the dimension. By all means he was missing for like 3 days but when they found him he had aged by 3 years. Oh and also he experienced The Horrors and is never going to be the same again and now instead of them being siblings who did a lot together and managed to be on the save wavelength they’re now so vastly different because of Kishos experiences and also the fact he is very much no longer in the same state of mind. Anyways Kisho is like 20-21 and is currently working on becoming a historian and philologist whereas Kuran is like 17-18 going into fashion design. They have issues and it’s honestly really bad but one just puts everything in a cupboard and quickly closes the door before everything falls and the other pretends that his issues aren’t there. Also Kisho is transmasc YAYYYYY YAYYYYYYYYYYY. (Also because i’ve made art of them before i’ll give a description cause Kisho has green hair whereas Kuran is blonde :3)

Uh and last one i can kinda talk about would be Akihisa…. Where to start erm… so he’s my silly little rabbit and i torment him. He has the most issues while also like the least. First off he doesn’t live with his biological parents he was adopted ^-^ so like….. essentially . hmmm. Okay so essentially his father came from outside of Japan when he was a bit younger to pursue filming (which he didn’t stick around in but it’s okay) and he met Akihisas mother who was (and still is) a model. So their relationship did not work out but hey they have a kid now. The kid doesn’t have a mother whose permanently in his life and the father is kinda. Yeag. ANYWAYS so the fun thing is his dad was able to get help from his college friend to look after Akihisa because he had to leave (i’m sorry i’m lazy right now and don’t want to give the actual explanation) and this is when the Komatsu family comes in because they basically adopt him. So this family consists of Mrs Komatsu who is Akihisas fathers friend and she’s an actress who mostly just does smaller roles but anyways there’s also her husband who is a literature professor at a local college and then the siblings are Toshiko (eldest), who works as a model agent, and Ikuya (youngest but now middle child) whose actually in a unit (it’s more so an actual band he’s not a idol but you know what i mean) and is the reason why Akihisa wanted to become an idol in the first place. Also when he first went to yumenosaki for the first like two years he had dyed hair, specifically black hair because he didn’t like standing out from his family. ALSO in !! he’s a graduate just a fair. Information. He also was the leader of his ex-unit and it has the worst fucking name you could have everrrrr named something. It was literally called THE ODYSSEY… and also he was like not prepared to be a leader he let his unitmates walk all over him until the very end when the group split. Also one of the unitmates in that group became the leader of the current unit he’s in and it’s obviously a lot more functional now.

 I’m starting to get tired i’ve been writing this document for 3 days and just spent atleast 3-4 hours writing the rest of this. This is like. The bare minimum of a summary for all my ocs and i am so sorry for that…

Personally, I'm guessing that his name got changed again because he was one of the only eggs on the map when they got back and people can be annoying if they know who is playing which egg. We only saw that Ramón's name was QSMP13 last week when Phil put him in his allow list (at least to my knowledge)

I still think this is the same admin. They speak like Ramón has always spoken (they are a slower typer and use a lot of abbreviations) and their chaotic ass sign placement when Ramón is even a little bit excited or nervous is the same. They are ready to smack Tubbo whenever he says something smacking worthy and their first instinct upon seeing Dapper is to fight them. They are still a nerd about the create mod and game mechanics which would kind of hard to fake.

Waking up often and being on for hours is not uncommon for QNPC03 either. Ramón used to be on working on his elevator for hours at a time on his own. His schedule never just fully worked with Fit's. He stopped being on on his own as much after his fake code death. I'm guessing the admin just has now more free time because the finals are over and it's christmas so waking up as a minecraft egg is not a problem right now.

And (at least on my opinion) he didn't really run away from Richas when he started speaking Spanish. Ramón has always been quieter when hanging out with other eggs. He loves spending time with them but doesn't write as many signs as most of them. He was still reading Richas' signs but they were meant for Fit so he didn't answer. Other than excitedly jumping around when Richas complemented Fit's Spanish

So I still think the admin is the same, the name just changed. Or I could be completely wrong and someone is just really good at roleplaying as a minecraft egg. In which case, props to them

When Scarab plays Minecraft with Nyxie he basically becomes her constant guard because of her loose focus and need to explore and not really think much on things other than “wow that looks cool, let’s dive into it!” or “hey, I can make a snowman and name him Buddy!” and Scarab swears she’s given him second hand anxiety that a mother has with her rowdy sons.

Scarab mentally calls himself her knight or guard and takes such stupid pride in it. Living out his medieval dreams. But he only says it mentally cause when Nyxie says it out loud it’s embarrassing and he gets all flustered cause she makes a big silly deal about it on purpose out of love.

Yes, he tried to defeat the Ender Dragon without thinking cause of his own cockiness. Despite the fact this was during his first go around in a Minecraft world with Prizz-bizz and Nyx. They blocked off the Ender Portal or trapped him with obsidian so he couldn’t go back and kill himself again from his own ego while they got supplies for him. He was very dead set on winning this and this was kind of the only way we could help him. You know how he is.

Prismo actually knows the average knowledge of the ins and outs of Minecraft. Some casual stuff, and a few rarer stuff. He mainly mines. Nyxie knows the most basic of basics and nothing complex, like building a snow/iron golem or how a simple starter house is set up. She mainly goes out exploring. Scarab doesn’t know the game at ALL, so he’s either following one or the other and learning things along the way. Bro’s just saying “Interesting..” every few minutes.

Prismo and Nyxie are the main influences of why they have a whole backyard for snowmen and other tame-able critters. They give Scarab big sad eyes to convince him to bring another, and despite his attempt at rules and strictness, he loses anyways. They either sneak it in and get in trouble later or he cracks.

”… (slow turn, suspicious squint at them) ..tell me why I just heard a cat, you two.” “(NYXIE AND PRISMO BOTH HOLDING IN NERVOUS LAUGHTER)”

It takes him a while to get used to riding horses. The first time he tamed one he expected it to go as slow as a player, and actually got spooked when it went fast as lightning. He inched a bit. Then again with a little bit of an evil laugh. And now he rides this horse everywhere and has a hypocritical attachment to it. He was very adamant on making it its own little fence in their ever growing abundance of pets.

Let’s be real, he’d make an army of dogs the second he found out they’d fight for him. Whatever he hit, they’d be bit.

After finding out the hurt animal noises made their very emotional squid-fox-creature cry inside, though, they’ve since had to compromise in either turning off their NPC sounds or being very careful with the dogs. Unfortunately, they’ve still had to have a few graves. Nyxie makes all of them. Prismo doesn’t feel super bad as he knows it’s just a game, and Scarab is very warrior’s-honor-brained, so Nyxie is the one who feels the most devastated about it.

You can imagine what would happen if Scarab ever lost his horse.

Speaking of death, Scarab has died plenty of times and had to take a walk through the cube before he broke the controller for the fifth time. No one can blame him, though, cause Nyxie has had to do the same when she’s at her limit. One doesn’t think before doing, and the other keeps forgetting he’s too big for his britches in terms of knowledge and fighting. In real life? Yes, he’s very intelligent and very well versed in taking others down in combat. In Minecraft? Literally he’s so screwed without Prismo to help.

He got hit by The Warden ONCE and immediately noped out. We tried to warm him, and he didn’t listen.

“WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME” “WE LITERALLY DID, YOU DUMBASS”

Scarab probably builds a mob farm with Prismo while Nyxie is like a little walking backpack down below cause she doesn’t know how it works.

Don’t worry, once he gets the hang of it, he’s a pro gamer. Not as good as Prismo, of course, but still (/j).
