Listen. I, for one, did not read “both happily married” and think “oh, to each other?” If it had said “both chocolatiers” I wouldn’t assume they owned a chocolate shop together either. I know that’s not a strict 1:1 match but you get what I’m saying. Now remove the “both” and THAT makes them sound married to each other. Unfortunately the “both” is there

imagine being so fucking serious about a show/piece of media that you start an anti movement for HUMAN characters with HUMAN emotions and HUMAN trauma. of course they're going to be fucking problematic, we've all been pieces of shit some time in our lives. fucking face it.
when talking about supernatural, have you seen the writers on the show??? the misogony/racism on their characters are the writer's fault. blame the actors if you want, too, for not stopping it when they got priviledges over the scripts. that's fine. but you don't have to shit on someone's favorite character when said character is constantly evolving, learning AND failing again. that's human nature. that's trauma's manifestations (you don't have to support those trauma responses, I DON'T). i understand it can affect the reality, especially for impressionable people, but hell.
the whole point of supernatural IS trauma and the toxic responses of it, how it is tried to be justified by using the family card. dean and sam both have done terrible things. the producers/actors/writers saying the point of the show being about family and inconditional love is subjective, and the point i see to the show (the one above) DOESN'T SELL. they want to sell. welcome to capitalism, you're gonna hate it.

Godzilla and "non-meaningful" media
now this is coming from a person who use to be like "no, everything that you ever experience should have value and make you think" which was odd cause i like dragon ball. but anyway, i think the idea that everything that you ever experience should have to be meaningful, and full of artistry, is kind of dumb. sometimes things can just be a little painting of a mountain.
that being said, i have been watching the heisei era Godzilla movies, and I'm almost done, only space Godzilla and Destroyah left, and honestly, i really love them. they are really fun movies, and a lot of hard work came from the effects, costumes, and sets.
while i find that some godzilla movies have a hard time splitting between the godzilla action and the human drama, i feel like these get the right ratio, where all the problems are the people dealing with godzilla or something like that. but i think thats what makes these movies great, im watching a godzilla movie, everything about them should be about godzilla. i want the humans to be dealing with godzilla if godzilla isnt on screen.
but let me get to the point of this train of thought in this video made by mothers basement (here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwRGw9QRMj4)
and honestly, i quite disagree with this video so much, as someone who has delt with a lot of worthlessness, depression, and suicidal ideation. the only thing i agree with in this video is that you shouldn't replace your life with media. but that being said, the idea that you should optimise your life to be the most jam packed with only good experiences is quite frankly not what you should do, yes you should TRY to do that, but its like a dog chasing a car, what the hell are you going to do if you do end up catching that car?
i hate the idea that people cant watch and enjoy things that have no meaning, (these heisei godzilla movies have meaning) because it causes people to unfun sticks in the mud. like yes, the movie would be better if it had great characters and great theming. but it doesn't have to have those things to be worth while.
i think a piece of art/media/culture just needs to be enjoyable for someone to find meaning in it, even if the artist was like "oh yeah, that doesnt mean anything" it means something, sorry! if you found your self enjoying something, thats good. and dont let anyone take that away from you.
also, side note, the people who have only experienced good things in their lives, dont tend to be the best people. i find. like, yes try your best to do good things and experience things that make you feel good, but like try the hard thing. get dirty in the mud.

sometimes i wish i was a golden retriever or just any high energy dog breed , not a werewolf .
i feel it makes me hard to get along with . I wish i was easier to get along with
I dream of being an appealing creature , something everyone wishes to interact with . not something that wants to be feared .
it also feels that this is somehow my fault for not being right . i dunno , shits weird

This has been bugging me for a second so I’m gonna say it:
Just because I say Rei and Byakuya are parallels that doesn’t entirely mean that I think they’re identical. I feel like they share the same role in their respective games. A character who is ‘stuck up’ due to how they were raised/ how the world treated them but develop for the better.
It shows more in Rei in canon than Byakuya but you get my point.

i think the thing that is specifically bothering me about the conversation about the new hbomberguy video ("live your life in a way so that hbomberguy doesn't tear into you for 3 hours", "hbomberguy has figured out how to death note someone through video essays", "oh new hbomberguy video [incredibly dense paragraphs of text] i now despise james somerton") is that it really feels like people aren't paying attention to what hbomberguy was actually saying. like, as much as he wanted to make people aware of the plagiarism issue, he also very explicitly did not like the fact that he might even remotely have a financial incentive to make those sorts of videos. and rather than the last video, which was a "get mad about this" call to action, hbomberguy spent this whole video sympathizing with the people who were directly out indirectly affected, and wanted the focus of people's attention to be on uplifting small queer creators
but also, negativity drives engagement so i guess it's to be expected.

Yes we've all heard aroace people complain about the 'you haven't met the right person' line. But to the idiots citing this as the reason aroace people 'aren't oppressed’: No, micro aggressions aren't what's oppressing us.
I could talk about corrective rape, but I'm not going to because that's not what scares me the most. The worst thing about being aroace (aromantic, and asexual to a certain extent) is that society is set up for couples.
Being aromantic is a crushing economic disadvantage. As a couple, you can save more. As a legal couple, you can borrow more. This puts Mortgages out of reach for a lot of aromantics. Adopting too. Although aro people can adopt, you must have a similar income to a couple, which again, rules out a lot of aros. Don't forget Immigration, spousal visas will never be an option for us.
Being poor and aro means you're denied housing, family, international movement, basically anything that allos of a similar income would get. And anything you can get, you'll have to jump through many more hoops for. But we can't fix this by legalising aro marriage, like we did for the gays. Until our society's economic system is completely revolutionised, we'll be waiting.
It's impossible to compare oppression. You can't objectively say which minority group has it worse and I really mean that. But also I'd rather be called slurs and hated by Christians all fucking day.

zolu is maybe one of the easiest ships i've ever liked. they're dating, except when they're not, they're best friends even when they're kissing and they're still captain and first mate when they aren't. they hold hands, they hug. they have sex. they don't.
Luffy can hold Zoro's katanas and Zoro can hold Luffy's strawhat and no one bats an eye. one says "You're so cool!" and the other says "You're strong" and it's just another way to say "I see you, this is why I follow you/this is why I trust you". it's not seeing each other for a long time and still knowing how the other's steps sound like against wood and sand. the captain runs and the first mate follows. it's always "Zoro and the others" and "Where's Luffy?"
if they're just friends, if they're something more, if they don't have a label for it, at its core, it's just about how they get each other. they understand how the other's mind works. however you view them, it doesn't erase they fact that they love each other in a way they don't love other people.

in regards to the constant dismissal of his aroace identity, i hate it when alastor 'fans' say and use the excuse: "he's fictional, he won't get offended."
like, you're right, but it can and will offend us.
when you see yourself being represented on screen, of course you'd feel enthusiastic about it — representation allows individuals to see themselves reflected in the media they consume, validating their identities and experiences. but when so many people take that representation and decide to disregard and discard it, it is so fucking frustrating. we finally have another character to be part of the tiny amount of representation we have, but then people don't even care about how much it means to us? like yeah, alastor won't get offended because he's not real, but it frustrates and annoys us. do you realize that it's also technically invalidating the aroace community? that you're invalidating our feelings? imagine feeling like you're finally being seen because your orientation is finally being represented in media, and people just decide to blatantly ignore, discard, and invalidate it.
media has such a powerful influence on real life, representation being a prevalent factor of it. there are numerous posts that dictate how people went to watch a movie/show or read a book just because a character depicts their identity in it — obviously, being represented is an incredibly uplifting and validating experience.
which is why seeing an aroace character in a popular show is so meaningful to us because we live in a world where romance and sex are literally everywhere and prioritized above all else. (and it's pretty obvious that alastor's on the repulsed end of the spectrum, but even if he wasn't, at least make an effort to acknowledge his sexuality instead of continuing to portray him as allo; aroace folks can be in relationships but it's not going to be the same thing with allos' experiences.)
any and every representation matters, but why does that seem to stop at people under the aroace spectrum? like y'all can't even let us appreciate the scraps of representation we have. we barely have any, so are we really that dramatic for being upset at how people easily disregard and dismiss our identities that are being depicted on screen just like that? is it truly wrong of us to want to defend and maintain the little representation we have?

(this is part of the calendar 2024 lore, now on pre-order, to know more check out prev posts)
April was Keith's idea of relaxation. He enjoyed parks, the feng shui of them, nature's ability to thrive despite and against anything happening - the silence of it. Watching Keith wind down and relax when he is a strung wire most of the time, would definitely make Lance feel all lovey-dovey and clingy (as he tends to get) and when he’d worry he is disturbing, Keith would comment this is exactly how it should be - the constant yin to his yang, and the yang when he feels yin.
Also - both shirt and hoodie are Keith's (he has way too many hoodies with quotes). Lance took the hoodie for Keith, but Keith insisted he won’t get cold, so he wore it himself. On the way home Lance funds Keith the biggest sushi serving he could find on the menu, and, believe me, nothing lights up Keith's eyes like a table full of rice and algae. Lance just watches with a soft smile. (Keith does end up getting cold)

as an intersex person I feel very unsafe around people who use "AMAB/AFAB" and "TMA/TME" to describe others.
the way I've seen these terms are used in the greater online trans circles really just looks to me like a new binary, with the implication that AGAB and genitals are linked, and that any of these categories are predictors for whether someone is affected by transmisogyny or not
as in "trans AMAB = penis = trans woman = TMA" and "trans AFAB = vagina = trans man = TME"
these ways of thinking are so unsafe to me as someone who doesnt fit neatly into any of these categories, and I've seen first-hand the disgusting amount of intersexism that comes out of people's mouthes in conjunction with these abbreviations. it's either people saying something intersexist or completely erasing us (sometimes surprisingly both at the same time!)
I have to avoid sharing so many of my own experiences in online trans circles because I know the moment I say enough about my body, many perisex trans people will mentally shove me into the category of AMAB or AFAB and then go on to assume how my body works and which things I experience (which is creepy as fuck, people should stop doing that)
in short, AGAB tells you literally NOTHING about someone's body, and transmisogyny is NOT exclusive to only perisex trans women
