Alondra!!! It’s been forever since I’ve been on here and first I want to say that I’m sorry for disappearing so suddenly. So much has happened after spring break that I never really made free time out of school and work, and finding jobs after I graduate too (I think I was burnt out but I didn’t want to accept it tbh 😭). But know that I haven’t forgot about you, or Nonviolent Communication, or Tumblr in general!!! I’ve practically written a whole essay’s worth about NC part 13 😭 but I haven’t had the chance to revise what I wrote, also I think I wrote way too much (no seriously, I upgraded to writing on a word doc just for this!) Also im hoping you dont mind a bit of unsolicited reassurance, but your comment about figuring out your life really vividly reminded me of when i was in high school trying to figure out college and my career and life in general, and just. Couldnt come up with anything. And i still remember how fuckoff scary that felt, so i just wanna reassure you, as someone who is a few years shy of 30 and never even ended up going to college, from the bottom of my heart you do not have to figure things out for yourself yet. I know there is so so much pressure surrounding that concept, but your life and priorities can drastically change as you grow. Sometimes you dont settle into what you want to do until you're far older, and thats okay!!! In fact thats genuinely the norm-- i didnt know i wanted to be a professional editor until about 6 years ago. And in the future i might decide i want to do something else, too, and pursue that instead!!

You never have to settle on One Path for yourself. Things change, people change, and everything is in constant fluid motion. Its okay not to know what you want out of your life-- genuinely, at this point in time youve barely even lived it. Ive barely lived mine-- im only just now hitting a point where i can really think about the longterm and put down lasting roots. Give yourself the space to figure it out organically, and i promise you as someone who has gone through this exact same thing, it will ultimately turn out okay❤️❤️❤️❤️ its a big learning curve, but you arent alone, and there are countless people out there who will be willing to help you as you go along :]

Saturday Six (Stuff)

Haven't done one of these in a while. Just been blah lately. Life is just trucking along. No work really. I've been finishing up tax/accounting stuff. (。-ω-)ﾉ

Had a huge fight with Dad (the parents, but mom was mostly trying to mediate, ha) about money and jobs. Boomers obviously have no clue about the job market, especially here. You can't just "network" and get a job. And a lot of employers don't want to hire someone who's had/has their own business. Sigh... I'm sofa king tired of life sometimes. (;*´Д`)ﾉ

Trying to stay positive in this environment is so hard, especially after this week. And when you're not really a positive person anyway, ugh. Yeah...(⑅ ‘﹃’ )

Hello there! I have returned! Yes, Padmé.2008 has finally awakened after disappearing for quite some time! (You may have pieced this together from my recent burst of reblogging).

So, I hope everyone is going well, and I cannot wait to be more active and interactive on here!

I know that when you take mental health breaks from social media, you do not have to explain yourself, but I want to elaborate on my disappearance so people struggling with similar issues know they are not alone. I also feel guilty for disappearing so I want to explain myself:

So, unfortunately, for several reasons such as burnout, poor time management and a busy personal life, I neglected my Tumblr account. These reasons, plus a lack of motivation have also led me to disappear off my Instagram and Wattpad accounts for months on end. However, me returning to this account gives me hope I can revive my other accounts soon!

I am glad I took a break from my accounts and writing as it gave me time to get to know and work on myself, interact with family and friends, and realise what my priorities are. So if you ever need a break from social media- I highly recommend it and want you to know it is NOT selfish 💖

Anyway, I look forward to again sharing my creativity and passion for Star Wars and other fandoms on here, and interacting with like-minded people! I recently got into loads more of musicals (or their movie counterparts) like: BeetleJuice, Wicked, Dear Evan Hanson, Les Miserables, Rent, Legally Blonde, Something Rotten, Heathers, Come from Away and Mean Girls! I also have revived my passion for Hamilton, The Greatest Showman, Six and Hairspray in the time I have been gone. So if you’re a musical theatre nerd- I’m your girl for a chat!

hey anon. im really sorry to hear this, i know exactly how you feel right now. its funny, i was going to say after that post in the tags "this is me on every date ive been on (which isnt many)"

first dates? i think maybe 6 total. im not sure if im the best person to ask, since i clammed up pretty hard emotionally when my first long time girlfriend and i broke up. i havent had a serious gf since then -- she was my first and only. ive been with one other person in a complicated way (but cut them off as it was a bad situation), and the rest of my experiences have been casual.

completely unsolicited advice from a stranger (me):

1. process it. please dont shy away from processing it.

2. take your time. a breakup with a long term partner is a big emotional change. allow yourself the time to equilibrate. this could take six months, a year... for me, it took 4 years. there is nothing wrong with how long it takes you. theres nothing wrong with not "getting back out there" quickly. in fact, i'd encourage you to wait -- this time allows you to reflect while you process, so you feel more prepared for when you do feel ready to start dating again.

3. take this time to learn more about yourself and to spend time with yourself. this is probably corny but it gives you time to (1) appreciate yourself! and (2) offer more clarity on who would be compatible for you when youre ready to date again.

and finally, 4. when you are ready to start dating again, know that "inexperience" is all relative, and in the end, meaningless. especially in the gay community, where a lot of us are late bloomers due to a variety of things... a lot of people are more similar to your position than you think. and dating "experience" =/= emotional maturity. it might feel weird getting out there again at first (makes sense... you were in a relationship after all!) but you will adjust -- as long as youre kind and honest, i really dont think you can go wrong, no matter your "experience" level. a good person will be looking at your character, not your stats.
