why are multiple people saying that boston has always been truthful about who he is and what he wants from/with nick? when in ep 11 3/4 he told nick "but from now there will only be your photos because i'll only sleep with you" and "but you might be my exception" after nick talked about why boston doesn't do serious relationships ... i dont know how you interpret these words but to me they say that boston wanted to be in a serious and closed relationship with nick so in my eyes it wasn't just nick who misunderstood boston but boston who wasn't truthful to nick, boston who tried to be someone hes not just like nick rightfully pointed out, boston who ended up cheating on nick with boeing
i personally don't hate boston but i can't blame anyone for disliking him and there are enough reasons to do so outside of him sleeping around, i am pretty sure a lot of people who dislike him don't do it because of that ... hes not an asshole because he sleeps around, but sleeping around also doesnt make him less of an asshole because that doesn't cancel out the rest of the shitty things he did and does
that all being said, i definitely wish we got an apology from the friend group too and not just from chuem for punching him ... that was definitely overdue

My Jason/Red Hood Headcanons
Warring! I've only read about him in fanfics and researching info. I've never read a comic on this man in my live yet but he is bb to me.
JASON
He is a mother hen friend. [says a mother hen friend, i know the signs of one bitch]
He is the big brother you go to if anything bad happened to you, because whoever hurt you will no longer exist.
He is also the brother you go to to hide a body, most questions not asked.
He was [and still is] a theater kid 1000%.
He secretly drinks tea like a 1700s/1800s lady.
He would take the role of "housewife" in the relationship.
His love language is cooking; if he cooks for you, you are loved.
Stress cleaning. due to living on the streets, Jason likes his space(s) to be clean and tidy, he did it to control his environment. Which means he stress cleans, fortunately and unfortunately. Fortunately because his safe houses are always clean but unfortunately because he will clean whatever room he is in [e.g. one of the bedrooms in the manor, bruce's offices, meeting rooms, other peoples safe houses, you get it what I'm saying]
When Jason is anxious or panicked he cooks and he cooks a lot when that happens.
He is always carrying at least five knives and two guns on a good day, eight knives and four guns on a bad day.
How many knives and guns he carries depends solely on his paranoia level for that day.
Jason when dealing with a horrid mental health day(s) or week(s) and knows he can not bring himself to cook anything, will text or call Alfred; his grandfather Bruce Wayne's butler will stop by the next day with a fresh batch of his famous cookies and three to seven tupperwares of his cooking for his grandson, Jason to heat up when needed.
as RED HOOD
He 1000% mother hens the Alley Kids, they've just learned to accept it [and the Alley Kids 1000% do not fear red hood and sass/mock/tease him to no end].
Red is like a BAMF Mama Bear TM.
To help ease Tim after the "TTA" whenever they are together [and not in harms way] he dismantles his guns and removes his knives from his person to show vulnerability .
all safe houses have at least two books in them even in the other bat's+bird's safe house. Most of them are Jane Austen books.
All food cooked when anxious/panicked he gives out to the homeless and the alley kids, sometimes the working girls too depending on how much he makes.
Jason as a HUGE knife collection.
With the knife collection he hands them out like candy to the Alley kids and working girls.
He gives them [the Alley kids and working girls] self defense classes every Tuesdays and Thursdays where he teaches them ways to get away and/or detain men two to three times their own size.
Also gives classes in properly handle a knife, and use it to your advantage in a fight; and normal day to day survival [for Alley kids], and how to conceal carry with few clothing on and still be easily accessible [for the working girls].
If any of the bat clan need shelter because of a storm or to hide after a fight they will crash in one of Hood's many safe houses.
Due to this, all Hood safe houses are stocked with change of clothes for each bat member.

what do you think lg needs to do to treat him has an equal partner?
Manhua only? Either way, I say that because they're meant to /agree/ in the outcome - and CXS can't really do that if he only has half a truth. It's not an easy thing - CXS /is/ an emotional person that doesn't always follow orders, so there would be even more arguing - heck, LG is propably right that CXS would try to fix Lin Kai's mess.
Isn't that the thing abt partners, though? That you value the person's opinion? It quickly goes from "try to manage CXS not messing the job" to "doing the job behind his back and lying about where he's been". It also keeps CXS from truly having a choice (in season 2, we see him obeying the rules on his own after seeing for himself how unpredictable messing with that is)
I am, howhever, very sympathetic to LG's plight. Messing up time isn't as simple as what color they'll choose for the living room (esp when you consider what LG is actually trying to do), and the last pages from ch6 already indicate he's not entirely comfortable with lying to CXS's face, even if all he wants is the best for him. LG tries to keep the outcomes in control, but he seems pleased when CXS manages to take control of situations, and that's when their synergy really shines

There’s something I love so much about being able to create art. How you get to express “you”
For a few months now I’ve been trying to find a aroace pin for myself.
I found plenty of designs online simple ones, subtle ones and cute ones, I liked the look of a lot of them but none of them felt like “me”.
So I just decided to make one of my own, I had an old pin I’d been given in some goody bag and I painted the flag on myself.
It isn’t complicated, just the aro and ace flags. It looks just like some of the pin designs I found, it’s simple but also more messy, but I love it.
And I think that’s because I got to participate in it’s creation, I got to create art and I got to put a piece of me in it.
I guess I just like that art allows you to express yourself, even when it’s not as neat as it could have been, if I’d bought it.
I was making something to express who “I” am, so I’m glad “I” made it.

God’s Absence & Metatron
[Spoilers for Season Two of Good Omens!!]
As we are all coping from that tragedy of an ending, I wanted to try to break down the different things I noticed in this season and how I interpreted it, specifically God & Metatron. Please note that I am not extremely familiar with things pertaining to the Bible (I did not pay enough attention during CCD). I will try my best to fully explain my thoughts, but they may not be in the most organized way. Now that that’s out of the way, I will now rant lol.
One of the biggest changes in this season is the lack of God’s narration. They only make an appearance while talking to Job, but otherwise She is not playing an active role in the story. We were previously introduced to Metatron in season 1 as he was introduced as the voice of God. His reappearance in the final episode surprised me, as well as his offer for Aziraphale. As I look back on the moment, I think it is more than Heaven’s neglect and overall abusive relationship with Aziraphale. While we understand that Metatron is not God Herself, I do not believe that he understands that. The absence of God’s voice can reflect how the Plan was changed and affected as seen in the finale of the first season, but I would like to propose that it is setting up the role of Metatron. If God is not occupying Her position of power after the not-doomsday, Metatron is taking the responsibility into his own hands. After all, if so many people trust that you are the voice and will of God, who are you to argue with them?
We cannot be sure that Heaven is fully behind the offer Aziraphale was given by Metatron. The angels were all surprised by his presence and did not even recognize who he was until Crowley identified him (more on that some other time). So for Metatron to have given Aziraphale a role in the Second Coming without the guiding voice of God, I believe that it is for his own benefit rather than anyone else’s. Metatron most likely did this with the full knowledge that Crowley would turn down the offer and be heartbroken by the mere suggestion of it (the look he gave Crowley was NASTY). He wants to take control of the angel who meddled in the Plan, to separate the couple entirely so that he can bring back what was meant to happen in his eyes (even if it is not aligned with the Ineffable Plan). Metatron knows how Aziraphale works. His offer of the coffee, the protection of the bookshop, and the offer to accept Crowley as an angel if they were to go back to Heaven were all used to manipulate Aziraphale into his will. Why wouldn’t the angel say yes if it meant that he could finally be seen as worthy and accept the love he holds for Crowley without it feeling like a betrayal? Metatron’ s influence on the other angels is seen with Muriel as they eagerly accept the position that Metatron offers, another celestial who has been ignored and made to feel worthless by Heaven. We know that God does not make any direct effort to interact with anyone (except Her favorite human Job), so Metatron could be using these points of vulnerability as leverage for his own plans. Many noticed that Metatron isn’t wearing white or any bright colors like the angels, which I believe is another sign that Metatron isn’t working for Heaven or God, he is doing it for his own gain.
(I apologize if I repeated myself or did not fully expand on some points, I can try to better explain if needed. Thank you for reading my sort-of-analysis.)

the tonal whiplash is jarring from the way tumblr (and reddit refugees) talk about the submersible vs the way twitter, the news, and the government talks about it
like yeah we’re making fun of it but we still recognize it’s a horrible way to go out…they still (mostly) brought this on themselves tho
on the other hand, everyone else is like “it’s a tragedy, we need to divert all our resources and attention to this specific situation, if you don’t feel extreme sympathy and kinship for these people then you’re a terrible person”
the best example I can think of that shows what I’m talking about is how we all think it’s incredibly funny that the stepson of one of the billionaires on board went to a Blink-182 concert during search efforts while most people on twitter were clutching their pearls like “oh, he doesn’t care, how horrible that’s he’s continuing to live his life and not pray these poor, rich souls”
and ik if someone said this on somewhere like twitter people would accuse them of putting one cause above others but seriously, what about literally anything else happening, like the thousands of migrants lost at sea that are being overlooked because of these billionaires who absolutely knew the risks when they agreed (also, the only cause in this situation was a lost cause from the start, that is, if we’re gonna call anything to do with billionaire lifestyles a “cause”)
anyways,
sink the rich
yes, human empathy and all that but billionaires aren’t people and you’re not a horrible person for laughing at or making fun of this situation where the odds, nature, and literally everything else that could be were absurdly stacked against these five from the beginning

A while ago on Reddit I made a post where I kind of gave my opinion on the whole Percy Jackson casting thing. But to show my comment, I have to share a different post. So I'll just credit them first: I commented under Reddit user u/how-s-chrysaf-taken on a post from last year on the subject of the PJO casting. (my post was made 28-30 days ago, however). Here's my copy and pasted transcript:
(u/how-s-chrysaf-taken): I'm kind of disappointed bc she doesn't look familiar. Like, I've gotten used to Annabeth being the tall, blonde girl with the curly hair, not just bc of the books but bc of all the fanart and fanfiction. No hate to any of the kids, and I'm sure they'll do a great job. It's just that after all these years I was hoping to see the characters come to life as I knew them.
(Me): I imagine it's how people who read Harry Potter before the films felt about the films changes. There may end up being people who can only visualize the characters as they were played by their actors here. Who honestly knows? All I know is, it's a subjective thing. I have a similar problem to you (being so used to the book description/design), but I see why it can be nice to let anyone play a role (and possibly play it to their interpretations, as well). I'm not sure where I'm going with this. But I know it's topic with a lot of depth and confusion to me.
So my opinion wasn't really expressed so much as I just rambled about why I think the subject is so touchy for some. It's all subjective, and a casting will always go against somebody's vision of things. It's a complex issue.

What’s your idea of a perfect date?
This is very generic, I've been askes this question a lot and it's always something similar I guess. But I like simple dates. It may sound cheap or whatever and I don't care. I care about spending time with person I love/like. So I swear if we can spend the day at home cuddling and watching movies, I'm the happiest bastard alive. In a regular setting I guess a coffee shop and walking through the park is lovely. I don't like fancy dinners. I prefer cooking at home and make it perfect and intimate. But in the end is most about anything that makes both of us happy!

what WAS up with the mirrors??? the one in her bedroom looked like it shattered for no reason. like the obvious interpretation was that she distorted or misunderstood what happened but the next episode depicted the events exactly as she recorded them.
Hey there! That is the question :) I first thought they would backtrack, but I'm now actually glad they didn't... it does come across as a dissociative hint, but I actually think it's more trust issue. Here's my two cents: Claudia shattered the bedroom mirror with her scream, symbolizing her shattered trust in her guardians... her parents. They read her journal(!) and though only Lestat admits to fully reading them, we see Louis open her diary. We know that he read them, later (at least). She must have felt pretty violated, I know I would have. And... she must have known they would continue to. It's a line that's been eviscerated, never to come back. Trust was almost impossible after this. And I do not think she trusted Louis a lot more than Lestat, but she could read his thoughts. She could... reach him (manipulate him), whereas Lestat is waaaaaay too much like her, which is also why they butt heads so viciously. He calls her "Evil of my evil" in the books, and yes, she is. The mirror at the end of episode 5 is a callback to that scene imho. Again, something shatters that cannot be repaired. Trust, a sense of self and safety. They had problems, Lestat may have held her, both may have yelled at her, but their home was always safe. Up until that point she was bodily safe there. Now, I have written about how Lestat was, totally apart from the DV parts that were to follow (I am NOT taking away from that here, please don't misinterpret me here) a soft coven master. He has tried to keep them as human as possible. If they had been made (i.e.) by the coven under Les Innocents (before, ironically Lestat came along and upended it), she would have been locked in a coffin, put into the wall until she would have been strong enough in madness to claw herself out of it. Just... imagine. (Lestat was absolutely right to just... flip them the proverbial bird, tbh). But for the two vampires he's sired in the New World... this burst of violence was a life-shattering experience. And they had nothing to put it into relation to, nothing, which in and by itself, had been Lestat's intention. Not only to be confronted with the fact that Lestat kept things from them. And massive things. (Flying? Hello?) No, but also that they could de-facto do nothing about it if he didn't let them. There was no scratch on him, nothing, though both went at him. And a part of me wonders if that is why Louis kept charging him, too, because it must be horrifying to realize you have no chance. In hell. Literally. And we know Louis hates being powerless. (It is also quite the testament imho that Lestat lets himself get hurt by Louis in the next episode, but that is another subject and a beast in and by itself.) So when Claudia sits there, upstairs, and sees herself hurt... she sees the bloodshed. The destruction. Her physical and mental integrity got compromised by those supposed to protect her. The mirror ties it back to the initial violation. And she breaks. And the pieces of her are never fully healed ("there's a darkness in her that wasn't there before"). One more thing, others have said it as well - but from the moment that her parents read her diaries... Claudia's diaries were also a tool. She knew they would read them. She knew she could use them to manipulate. If (!) and when she actually used them like this may be up for debate, but for someone as clever as she was...
So from that first mirror on - she was no reliable narrator anymore either. Which makes the fact that this was from her diary... and under Armand's influence confirmed by Louis later on... it just makes it all very suspicious. (Why would Louis not remember Lestat flying/floating during sex? It's even repeated that they float a bit in episode 6, such a weird little detail to include. For example. I know, there's this joke as to it being too good to remember, but... seriously? And this getting thrown off heights is something both Lestat and (supposedly) Amand experienced (at Lestat's hand). Where is the truth here?) I do think the fight happened, I do think Lestat got carried away, to put it mildly, because in order for the events to have happened that everyone agrees on that happened... well. Something must have happened. And... imho - it is something that Louis isn't particularly keen on remembering. OR Armand thinks it's better he doesn't, as he so likes to do.

Cucurucho and the Binary Entity are working together.?. (in some vicinity).
some delusional thinking here BUT what if ..... the binary entity/monster and cucurucho are working together in some vicinity ... that's why the binary entity has not attacked recently, they both want something (maybe the new players? (or/and even the lucky blocks/ducks because those are broken as hell)) for the island that the federation DOES NOT WANT... so they put aside their adversity towards one another to accomplish this .. that's why the binary entity was there at the dungeon cucurucho led them too with the timer.... and cucurucho was more violent the other day about foolish breaking a rule and having to hand his gun over to assure that the federation cannot catch onto what cucurucho and the  binary entity are planing for the islanders.

Hi,
as someone who managed to escape Homestuck, coud you maybe give more context? It sounds very interessting!
-❄️⭐️
oh lord, um...
there's this kid named Dirk and he has identity issues. Mainly being, as a result of his isolation (he lives in a condo in the middle of the ocean alone) he has relied on himself and derivatives of himself all his life, literally since he was a baby. his sense of identity is fragmented because of this, and he hates himself *so* much. his glasses have a computer AI in them that is a brain scan of his 14 year old self, renamed Hal, of whom has his own identity issues from growing up at the same pace as dirk but being robbed of the experience of being human. imagine being 14, one brain scan later, and then waking up as a computer AI. it's a lot to talk about all on it's own i could fill posts upon posts.
homestuck as a story has lots of themes about identity and splitting/converging timelines, alternate reality selves, the works. so dirk is a character who already has splinters of his own identity, then adding on the fact that there are an *infinite* number of himself that exist, and a great deal of them are horrible people.
i am connecting Sam Prime and c!Sam as Dirk and Hal because of their relationship to eachother. Hal is Dirk's most influential and important splinter because Hal actually formed his own identity outside of Dirk, even forming his own key fundamental difference: Hal is afraid of dying. Dirk is not. None of Dirk's other selves managed to do this.
c!Sam loved and lost. Sam Prime did not. This is their fundamental difference. The only one of Sam Prime's splinters to differ in a fundamental way-- so strongly, in fact, his key memories are the only things Sam Prime can remember as he wakes up. c!Sam is not the same as Sam Prime-- Hal is not the same as Dirk. They are the same man who's identities verge at the fork of self definitives

i think the esc is so... hm. because on the one hand it's a shitty colonialist and imperialist festival that is trying to rebrand colonizers into quirky modern nations and is so performative in all political messages and their collaboration with israel is literally unforgivable and its literally just nations giving each other points bc they want to politically appeal to them in the weirdest and most pathetic way ever etc.
but also. a lot of the culture of the organizers is in direct opposition to what the fans really watch for? like, macron or whomever isnt watching and personally taking notes on which of his neighboring countries voted for france, but the juries act like all politicians do this, and they use their time hosting as this massive branding and propaganda campaign, and they try to come across as kind of "modern and relatable", but don't want to be the "weird" entry, like. for westerners, this is kind of about "prestige", while at the same time they are refusing to send any compelling candidates?
and i think to the countries and organizers and the politics behind the esc this event is about showing a politically favorable image of their country that seems modern and prestigious, while the actual appeal of the show is to find artists that usually arent found on the international market and give a stage for more camp and artsy performances, and the people watching want an entertaining time, where they see songs that actually stand out and are fun to watch and listen to, whereas the juries just vote for an entirely different set of entries.
so like, a lot of people are watching it for the camp and queer and "unique" entries, while it's actually a show made for the boring ballads and shitty pop songs, because all the jury and the esc care about is, what is gonna sell and what isnt (this might take a new interesting turn, now that tiktok also has a big say in which songs become popular and which ones dont, but right now they know that generic pop has more sales than "too quirky" entries)
this is all ignoring that the thing was soooo obviously rigged this year so that they can do the "50th anniversary of ABBA" next year in Sweden, and that the jury almost always seems to tend to give points based on politics and not on music, and that i genuinely think that they are even manipulating the audience votes occasionally so that certain entries that win arent "ridiculed" because they got like, 21 points from the audience and 360 points from the jury.
and its like. probably 60% of the audience are queer people or people who are watching to see fun & campy and queer entertainment, and the showrunners know this, so all their bits are queer, they have queer hosts, they use their show break for drag performances and talk about "the first gay kiss of eurovision" and there's pride flags, and the iconic "quirky" entries make reappearances with new songs, while the boring ones almost never get a big re-invite. but they do all of this as a sort of fake promise, like, "yes our show is so gay and so camp and so fun and legendary for the fun entries hahahaha, anyways the jury vote goes to some guy pretending to be Imagine Dragons and none of the interesting entries because we cannot widely market homosexuality", and only when the audience vote is so truly overwhelmingly for one entry that they can overpower the juries, it promises marketability.
they will never abolish the juries because the juries exist so that marketable songs win that bring the ESC a lot of money, the type of hosting and their internal politics will never change because this is a contest that they can use to generate sympathies to a country. this whole thing is a fucking colonialist's PR campaign, like, "yeah, israel has a bad rep, but look at how cool all of these places in israel look and how fun and modern and #feminist and #gay our entries are! how could we possibly be an imperialist force who is actively commiting genocide?"
the esc is inherity tied to nationalism and imperialist propaganda, and while it pretends to care about international music in people's native tongue and artists that usually wouldnt be on a international stage and queer entries of all kinds, it really only cares about money and promoting one's own image as a country and that is never going to change.
and i don't think you can't at all watch the event, but it is literally insane how few people who watch it are aware of any of the politics happening within the event and who call it the "gay event of the year" or whatever with no idea that they are being sold and pandered to so that they spend more money on a product (votes and tickets), and give their undivided viewing time to a program that you can only call a continent-wide propaganda event. i hope i make sense
