Flustered

Hanzo was always strict and judgmental to everyone around him. People know him to be cold and distant, unwilling to socialize when he deems it’s not needed. But overtime, his relationship with his brother has improved. Finally forgiving himself for what he did long ago. Genji was happy his brother forgave himself and accepted him for what he was now. Yet he was still snappy to those who spoke to him. More so with Cassidy and the junkers. But otherwise, Hanzo seemed to tolerate most Overwatch agents who ran around the base.

One agent in particular got a more softened side of Hanzo. A side of Hanzo that Genji hasn't seen in a long time. He doesn't remember a time Hanzo was sweet to anyone really. But it was a sight to see indeed. Watching Hanzo flush at the attention the agent gave him. The agent in question? Y/n L/n. Genji enjoyed watching the two interact from the sidelines, unseen and unheard. Wondering when his older brother will ask them out. And by the looks of it, Hanzo was too stubborn, or maybe shy? To ask Y/n the question.

“So, when are you going to ask Y/n out on a date?” Genji asked out of the blue, once training was over and they were the last ones in the practice range. Hanzo seemed to falter at the sudden question, releasing the arrow he just knocked on his bow too early, missing the target completely. Genji smiled under his mask at his uncharacteristic behavior, sheathing his sword.

“That is an inappropriate question.” Hanzo scoffed, fixing his posture and reaching for another bow.

“Oh come on, Han. Y/n is my friend, they seem to like you as much as you like them. It’s very obvious you two have feelings for each other. No use denying it.” Genji pressed on, gently resting his left hand on Hanzo’s shoulder, feeling as he tensed up under his sudden touch.

“We are only friends. There’s no other feelings between us.” As stubborn as ever, Genji rolled his eyes and sighed, letting his hand fall from his brothers shoulder.

“Y/n likes you romantically. You like them romantically. Ask them on a date!” Genji exasperated. “I know when they like someone. And it’s not often it happens. Trust me.”

“I do not want to pursue a relationship with them. They deserve far better than me.”

“Like who? Cassidy? Brother, don’t doubt yourself, you’ve come along way. You deserve them as they deserve you. You deserve to be happy and there isn’t anyone else out there who would give you the same happiness as Y/n brings to you.”

Hanzo looked to the ground, now at his side as he took Genji’s words in. A sudden knock at the practice range doors made the two brothers look over to the sudden entrance of the person they were talking about. “I’m so sorry to intrude, but I think I accidentally deleted a file for the next mission? Would you two mind if I look at one of yours? I can’t find Winston anywhere.” An embarrassed smile graced your lips.

Hanzo stood silent for a moment, eyes wide and locked on your figure until Genji softly nudged him to respond. “I can lend you my mission files until you sort it out with Winston.” He coughed, fixing his posture. “I have the details memorized, it will be no trouble.”

“Thank you so much, Han!” A bright smile appeared on your face as you jumped on the heels of your shoes. “I just need to quickly read over the file I’m missing so I won’t take long to read it over!” The smile never left your face as Hanzo began walking towards the practice dummies before Genji quickly stopped him.

“I’ll clean up, brother.” Hanzo could practically see the smile on Genji’s face through his mask. “Ask them.” Genji whispered as Hanzo passed him, walking over to the entrance where you patiently waited for him.

Hanzo sucked in a breath as he reached you, giving you a small, shy smile. “I’ll see you at dinner, Genji!” You called out before leaving the practice range The doors slid shut, starting their trek to the dorm buildings. The first few minutes were silent, until Hanzo cleared his throat, catching your attention.

“I’ve been meaning to ask.” Hanzos face was flushed, reaching down to his neck. “Would you accompany me for tea some day?” As calm and collected Hanzo presented himself, he felt like a child asking out his crush on the school playground.

“Hanzo Shimada, are you asking me out on a date?” You giggled, tilting your head to the side as you looked at him.

“Would you want it to be a date?” He blurted out unconsciously, eyes widening. “It doesn’t have to me a date if you-“ You giggled again, resting a hand on Hanzo’s shoulder.

“I’d love to go on a date with you, Hanzo. After this mission. Yeah?” You smiled softly at him. Hanzo’s heart rate sped up, he fears you could feel the warmth radiating off his face.

“Of course.” He smiled, gently taking your hand that’s placed on his shoulder in his larger one, squeezing slightly. Continuing the walk to his room at the dorms to retrieve his mission files for you to look over, hand in hand. Hanzo could thank Genji later.

The important thing here is to know where you stand, what u like, how u want your characters-story to be headed. Since we are not getting an episode of Kiseki: dear to me this week...... I finally found a translation for the novel.❤ Thanks to some amazing people, it's in Italian and with the chrome translation to english it can be well read 👏🏻

I recomend the reading if you like Fan Ze Rui and Bai Zong Yi 😍 But I warn that who wants some Ai Di × Chen Yi, theres not much. They are side characters, very secondary indeed...Not hint of them falling in love. I was expecting this since this author does not have a good progress of secondary couples by exemple the other 2 couples in We Best Love.

I hope the series can get them a good end (something, anything, please.)

There's some changes in the plot, most of them it's clearly to get Chen Yi and Ai Di more participation on the series.

I think it's worth to read and see the evolution (that it's not so rushed in the novel) and intimate moments of Zong Yi and Ze Rui...

Spoilers; let me vent:

We know Zong Yi, but once he falls for Ze Rui, he's a menace! Poor Zerui didnt have any chance against him 😅

My favorite part may be when Zong Yi confess to Zerui and after one month without meeting each other, Zerui goes to the school to find solace in the high school boy, and gets surprised that his boy's voice changed so much (cause he's still a growing boy 😅) and he's even taller! (like how that's possible?)

Delightful...

And no, Ze Rui didnt forget his boy, how could he? He's faking memorie loss so his family dont hurt Zong Yi more.

Bai Zong Yi remembers too! he has a problem with his short-term memory, but after all and 4 years later they're still in love ❤.

Im writing a poly fic where ghost/soap are already established but i like the idea of having a third person who i feel like would really fit a niche in their relationship? With my oc's background anyway, she has an understanding of the kind of trauma ghost has been through and connects with him through that in a way that soap might not ever fully understand. But she's also more open emotionally than ghost is, and i think she can provide an emotional support to soap that ghost can find difficult to provide. For example: One moment in my fic, before they're all together, my oc comes across soap having a panic attack while ghost is away on a mission. They both kind of freeze for a second before she immediately tries to comfort him, hug him, talk him through it. And soap is taken aback because this kind of openness and care came so easily from her. (Not that i dont think ghost is caring, just emotional vulnerability is harder for him)

I love that!! I fully agree, there’s a lot in the dynamic between Soap and Ghost that could benefit from a 3rd, more intuitive partner. Because we see that Ghost cares about people—about Soap—a lot, but has trouble expressing it. Soap cares, too, and expresses it a whole lot, but putting them together can be challenging because I imagine Soap needs a partner as empathetic as him but maybe not as excitable.

A 3rd who would suit them best would, I think, have both men’s traits—an even keel, like Ghost, but a sensitive intuition, like Soap. They could understand Ghost and his weird reticence and be able to communicate what’s going on, to Soap, in a way Ghost might not feel capable of. The 3rd wouldn’t get their feelings hurt easily, because they are very in tune with their feelings as well as their partners’.

I've been making more progress in these past two days than I had in the entire two months I spent with my new account because I realized how to (partially) Not Be An Idiot. Turns out there's a thing called "anchored construction" and you can get some pretty nice units (eventually) if you realize it exists! Wow! I got the girly and now I'm working on grabbing Carcano because she is pretty but also insane skillz.

Also, there's a discounted gatcha running right now and that means I can finally get over my mental block and spend tokens... I was surprised at how easy it's been to acquire them, so I've just been shilling em out. My dorm was totally bare until now. I'm sorry, everynyan...

As for actual gameplay, I finally made it past 2-6. It might seem like a simple thing to most but I was yet again, being an idiot. I was under the impression that I HAD to have dupes of the girls to dummy link them when I actually was swimming in dummy cores 🤦🏽‍♂️ What's wrong with me... Well, I jumped over that hurdle, blasted through the emergency missions, and am finishing chapter 3. The first parts arent so bad when you learn how to read! 😃😃😃

First eschalon is good, it's the standard one that everyone seems to use to clear the early game. This second one is a WIP mess that I'm readying for night missions. You see, I'm really hurting for half-decent SMGs and rifles, the second one there is kinda lacking in defense/fire power... I wanna create a decent second eschalon and night mission groupie but I gotta figure out what units to invest in. I hope for Carcano soon. She is cute. Also, feel free to berate me for my bad decisions and suggest decent compositions. I am so lacking in SMGs that dont immediately explode (mpk you are so cute but so stupid). I'm currently looking at friend's compositions to figure out what formations work...

In completely different news and only further proving how dense I am, I only recently learned that Girl of the Bakehouse was related to GFL. I've had my eye on Reverse Collapse for a while now since it's a remake (of a remake?! I didnt play the previous one) of a visual novel I played in 2012 or so. The original vn was made in 2009 in like Kirikiri script and I was a young lad very fixated on all things with girls and guns (Gunslinger Girl was and still is a favorite of mine, I would've read it one summer at my Uncle's out on the front porch). There's an english patch now, but back then it was only in Chinese so I had to use text extracting and image translators, looking up the characters as I went. I got a cup of coco and opened up a patched version last night for old times sake. It's clearly a doujin work with those rough edges but it's so damn confident in its presentation you can't not get swept up in the presentation. The sound work make it very immersive. I highly reccomend reading it if you want a solid, emotional war story. Looking at the sepia soaked sketches, down-to-earth narrative, dense wordbuilding and general war otaku sentimentality... It really predicted a lot of my tastes, huh... 😅

I’ve got a theory abt homelander—and this is partially canon bc like we see it played out through the show, but its interesting how he sort of shapes himself to be what the ppl he loves want him to be. Or rather what he thinks they want 😅 with stillwell, he was the most “homelander”, if that makes sense. An all american pretty face, saying his lines perfectly, pulling strings behind the scenes to try to achieve her ends. With stormfront, the violence becomes more blatant and extreme, and we even see it to a degree with ryan (because despite how badly he may have wanted a family, he sort of pulled the involved dad thing out of nowhere). It really speaks to his lack of identity, and its also sort of why i disagree with the extreme abusive yandere characterization a lot of ppl have w homie 😭 bc while he is unbelievably toxic and scary, i think he’s extremely cognizant of the ppl around him. If he truly loved someone, i dont think he’d go out of his way to hurt them (problem is, his concept what “hurting someone” actually means is… skewed, to put it nicely). But, more than anything, no matter what he says, he wants be loved. So he’ll do whatever it takes, be whoever he needs to be, to make sure that the people he loves love him, too. I think you're 100% correct. homelander is a chameleon. he has spent his entire life adapting to what people expect or want from him. he was abused by vogelbaum, groomed by stillwell, and stormfront was also using him for her agenda. homelander has pretty exclusively experienced love as a transaction. he was drip fed affection in exchange for performing to the expectations of whoever's love he was seeking. I reeeaaaally wish they hadn't dumbed down his relationship with maeve. between all the deleted scenes and the bits of context we got, I feel like theirs was the most complicated relationship he had. I desperately would have liked a more nuanced take than the hamfisted comparison between them and soldier boy/countess. strongly agree that he wouldn't be overly physically abusive to anyone he was smitten with. stormfront had to bully him into throwing her around and even then he still paused or stopped every time he thought he actually hurt her. homelander doesn't need to use his strength to make a point. he's way more cunning than he gets credit for. this is a safe space for meta rambling, my sweet. I also firmly believe in homelander being deeply multifaceted. I tend to write him as initially standoffish, even hostile, and the kind of person to make pretty snap judgements about people. If he decides he likes someone, first comes fixation. it's not love, it's not kind, it's fascination. the next stage is infatuation. I think a key aspect of what you mentioned is 'if he truly loved someone.' I don't know if HE even knows what that looks like yet. he turned on madelyn because she lied to him, but he still mourned and deeply missed her. did he love her? maybe, but in his mind she committed too many cardinal sins. she lied to him, she was afraid of him, and she didn't love him back, which is the only thing he ever really wanted from her.

Hi! Thank you, hope your day is amazing too 😊 And nope this is not a stupid question. I wasn't sure if you wanted a whole tutorial on how to cut out the moodlets too or not but I did that as well. It's under the cut because it's quite long because I don't know how to get to the point 😅

Step 1: Open the moodlet screenshot from in game in your preferred editing program (I use PS) and crop down to just the moodlet and I zoom in to 375% to see what I am doing better

Step 2: Next on the left side near the top is the 'Marquee tool' I use the rectangle shape and drag a box around the area you want

Step 3: Go to the top under 'Select' and then go down to 'Modify'. Then click on 'Smooth' A box is going to pop up and this is the number for how round you want the corners. If you don't want them to be rounded you can skip this. If you do then I use '2' but mess around with it and figure out what you like

Step 4: Next hit 'Ctrl + Shift + I' to select the inverse of the box and hit 'Backspace' to delete the unwanted background. Hit 'Ctrl + Shift + I' again to select the moodlet

Step 5: Next make sure you have your already edited photo you want the moodlet to go on and copy or drag the moodlet over to that photo

Step 6: Hold down 'Shift' and grab a corner on the moodlet to resize the moodlet to your liking. Holding down shift will make sure that it keeps it's original dimensions. After you are done resizing it go up to the top and hit that checkmark to save the transformations

Step 7: On the right side under layers Double Left-Click the moodlet to bring up ‘Layer Style’. You are going to check 'Stroke' and 'Drop Shadow' You dont have to check both if you don't want to it's totally up to you once again mess around with it and find out what you like

These are my settings for 'Stroke' and 'Drop Shadow'

Final Step: Just 'Merge Visible' and call it good!

I use photoshop! (If you dont have it, just look up "photoshop download" here on tumblr. There are a few links around that work!)

As for tips (which I think are beginner friendly, I've been using photoshop since I was like 12 but I can try and help if there's something you don't fully get!)

Make a base you can use for multiple moodboards. Grab a moodboard (you can use one of mine), paste it into photoshop, create a rectangle the size of one of the tiles and then duplicate it, each rectangle as its own layer. Number them. Make multiple of these with different numbered tiles, size, etc so you don't waste too much time on laying out the board. Save as a .PSD. Then when you go and make the moodboard paste the pictures and make that picture a mask for the rectangle you want it to go on. Save as and then you can save both a png version and psd version of the final product while still having your base and be able to edit your actual moodboard.

Ex.

Pick one or two colors and if you can find pictures that fit that color scheme. If not tweak the ones that don't individually. For me lowering the vibrance and playing slightly with the hues tends to work out. If you aren't sure about this a good bet is new layer > bucket with your main color/gradient with your 2 colors > fill > play with opacity and blending modes

I tend to avoid pictures that have text or faces or repeating elements right next to each other, I find it distracting. Play around with the positions to see where you think it flows better.

Play with the adjustments, layer them, play with opacity and modes. Even if you don't know much of what you're doing, just fake it until it looks good!

Sometimes you're going to really want to use a picture, spent a fuck tone of time trying to fix the background, and the coloring.... only to find a better one. I spend about 30 minutes trying to figure out how to delete Josh from a picture of Alycia in Saint X for my last moodboard, i blurred, deleted the background and went to grab another still where he wasn't showing merging them together... and then just used another still 😅

Start with 2x2. It's simple and just 4 pictures work great for you to get a sense of the composition. The massive 2x8 or 2x10 moodboards look sooo good but oh you will want to pull your hair out by picture 4 😅

Now, I can't say these are ground breaking tips but I do hope they help you get started! I only really started making moodboards in 2016 and I would like to point out my first ones looked like this:
