🌷 taurus rising/ taurus in the first people need a lot of attention and validation. this is especially true if their chart has extra fixed placements. it is understandable since these people give often and it is only fair for them to expect the same energy in return. their pet peeves are ungrateful people.
🌷 Venus dominant can be classified into two categories: those who desire beauty and everything that is idealistic, and those who want sensuous pleasure. when Venus is well aspected, the native is kind, helpful, philantropic, and artistic.
🌷 mars-pluto aspects in synastry may mean the relationship may be extremely triggering to both parties. pluto is obsessive and controlling and mars is combative but argumentative. not an easy one to manage in relationships especially the square aspects.
🌷 sagittarius moon is an expansive placement. people with this placement are naturally lovable and people usually come to them for advices. however, they may keep their issues to themselves often. they're only vocal about their issues when they deem its time to. the type to be very nostalgic in private.
🌷 virgo rising individuals age like fine wine. they are THE milf placement. they have this flair of mystery and royalty to their beauty. very easy on the eyes. they're also very chatty once you get to know them, usually are very up to date on almost everything.
🌷 scorpio (pluto) in the 1st are known to be mysterious but they usually are not as private as scorpio (pluto) in the 4th or scorpio (pluto) in the 10th house. these people prioritize privacy extremely high. they would go to great distance to make sure of this.
🌷 don't try to fill ur life with people who are dominant of the element you lack. when these people leave your life you may feel extremely drained, lost and in deep denial. instead, try to balance this energy by adopting the themes of that element yourself. remember, you already have everything you seek within you.
🌷 people with moon-MC aspects have big hearts. some may dislike having to display their emotions publicly especially if they have harsh aspects as they strongly think its "unprofessional" but they deep down appreciate emotionally honest people. usually feel a burden to carry on the family legacy too.
🌷 mars-jupiter aspects in one's chart point to love for adrenaline rush. these people seek for thrills and pleasure. they can be hard workers but they know how to relax and party too! they may be into stuff like extreme sports or fast cars haha
🌷 sun square moon people can be a bit of a pessimist sometimes but they have a weirdly charming way with their sarcastic nature. very alert and aware of their public and private self, yet they dislike having to explain themselves too much.
🌷 people with the sign you have in your 8th house as their placements are the people that you might have a love hate relationship with or just naturally more intense relationship than usual. OR the sign that sits in your 8th house displays traits that can trigger you in ways you can't necessarily describe and tend to avoid admitting to.
🌷 venus trine pluto natives when younge are extremely promiscuous and can be very seductive. they enjoy intense companies and secretly love attention. but once they meet someone who is just as passionate and devoted as them deep down, they will allow themselves to finally open to falling in love.
🌷 sun conjunct venus people love having their partner's full attention. they need someone who can devote themselves to them fully and be their safe space. they also want someone who they can be proud of and have a good laugh with. they're not as nearly superficial as people paint them to be. very devoted once in love. (similar to leo venus!!)
🌷 also sun conjunct venus people will go far if they enter some sort of beauty contests (especially if they have other positive sun/venus aspects)
🌷 Saturn in the 11th house and Mars in the 11th house usually experience painful close friendships. It's almost as if their friends may hurt them even worse than their lovers at times.
🌷 pisces ascendant energy is very comforting to be around. their lives usually consist of going through a lot of hardships when young but all their prayers will be answered with time. these jupiter children have big hearts but may experience a lot of jealousy from others when young.
🌷 my kinda odd personal favourites to have in synastry are actually moon in fire houses (1st, 5th, 9th houses). this is because the house person usually believe in the planet person A LOT. and the pair gives off bestfriend for life energy because they just have this blind faith (especially 9th house) in one another's ability. arguments may often occur due to emotional misunderstanding but these people are more likely to hear each other out than most tbh. they deeply want to understand the others unconsciously.
🌷 venus in second house in synastry is just 🥹. i honestly like this placement even more than venus in 7th house synastry because 7th house can also be the house of close enemies (yup) but 2nd house is just a bundle of joy for venus to thrive in from my observation. so giving and loving vocally and they enjoy each other's comfort so much sitting in complete silence feel amazing. very lovey dovey and giving. most likely to get comfortable with one another.
🌷 cancer rising as well as leo rising people value kindness and goodness in people. they may surround themselves with different kind of people but the ones they choose to keep close are usually very good-natured, can be a little bit naive but also extremely supportive and honourable. they actually adore honest people.
🌷 virgo mars people sense of humour is elite. their laugh is so contagious and they're often the funniest when they're unapologetically being themselves. the type to be very polite and socially smart as well.
🌷 saturn in 2nd house is THE hustler placement. spend a lot of money but they'll make it back in no time;) your money is safe with them (kinda).
🌷 being loved by a libra rising is honestly once in a life time kind of experience. they are so loving and they'll always prioritize you. but be aware of their sensitivity and secret need to control. make sure you follow up on your promises or your libra rising bae will be awake at 3am thinking about that for the next 20 years. super generous with their lovers too.
love,
saint jenx🪐

Gonna go on a rant that will matter to precisely no one but me but I find it so annoying these "range tests" meant to determine what your voice type is, if you're a bass/baritone/contralto/soprano etc etc it's like the armchair psychology equivalent of vocal classification. "I can sing E3-E6 so what voice type am I?" "You must be a soprano because you can sing high" THat's NOT how it WOrKS... FIRST OF ALL.... ok... Your voice type for solo voice is not determined by your range it is determined by your vocal quality RELATIVE to your range. What is your comfortable singing range is comparatively more useful for classifying choral voice types (Soprano/Alto/Tenor/Bass) because you will be singing with a bunch of other people for long periods of time so you don't necessarily need to be singing in a range that brings out your strongest solo capabilities. You need to prioritize the range that is best for your endurance. But if you ever look up "what's the most common voice type" you're going to see everyone saying mezzo-sopranos even though every opera house in the entire world will tell you that by far the most heavily impacted voice type are lyric sopranos. This is because, if you pull any untrained girlie off the street, yeah, they're most likely going to have a middling range. Does that mean she's a mezzo? NO! Of course range is taken into account when classifying, but along with range is the location of your tessitura (most comfortable/clearest/powerful part of your range) and your passagio (the boundary between your low and high registers). Your vocal range can change over time and with practice, but your tessitura and passagio will probably not. These kinds of things cannot be determined without the assistance of a qualified vocal teacher, not to mention that even a vocal teacher will probably not be able to fully & accurately qualify your voice type until your late 20's or early 30's (and then your voice type may change again as you get past your 50's but that's a whole other discussion). I say this not to gatekeep, but because your voice is not only an instrument but part of your body and pushing yourself to sing an uncomfortable range because you are convinced that you are a certain voice type will physically damage your vocal chords. If you try to lift 200 lbs without having the muscles to do it, you will fucking hurt yourself. Many singers have destroyed their own careers by trying to sing parts that aren't suited to them to try and fill a certain niche, appear more marketable, or simply because they were misinformed.
As a small pro tip, the upper boundary of your range can generally be extended with (safe and proper) practice, but your lower range can not. Your comfort (and I mean comfort, that means without stress) in your low range is a much better indicator of where your tessitura and passagio lie and thus, voice type, than the upper boundary of your voice. HOWEVER. Everybody wants to be a contralto and a bass because they are the rarest voice types. But consistently pushing yourself to sing lower than is comfortable for you is the easiest and fastest way to damage your voice. As is pushing your voice to sound "bigger" than it actually is (most voice types are lyric, not dramatic-- but that's getting into fachs and that's a whole other mess). Sorry but the most common types are the most common types, find peace with your space in the universe. ANYWAYS sorry it's just a pet peeve please be safe and practice good vocal health thank you

My fanfic pet peeve: when commenters read against genre (both of your fic and of canon) in the interests of clutching their pearls about "the actual children".
Context: I write a lot of, I guess, like, light adventure-y novella fics? Like "what if this episode went THIS way and one of these characters faced a novel obstacle!" or "what if this secondary character had to this team up with a minor villain and then awkwardly hide it from her commander!" type stuff. (I know, AO3 loves relatively realist m/m romance writing, not this stuff, which is way more common on FFN or Spacebattles. But I like it there!)
So I get comments on fics taking place in a violent high fantasy canon with teenaged soldiers, where someone will go and get really mad that the adult characters in the fanfic don't care enough that X teen must be so traumatised by killing someone.
Or I get them about how the "actual children," (read as: late teens, again, these are "children," with licences) in a sci-fi war canon are being endangered by the adults around them. And, yes, the adults would certainly be negligent according to like... the real world department of human services... but they are just kind of benignly irrelevant in canon, because it's a story about the teen heroes and aliens. That's what it's about. It's... not about a realistic look at what the parents of teens in adventure stories should do. I'm so taken aback every time that I barely know how to explain it.
I know most people who get "think of the children" pearl clutchers are in the relatively more fraught position of writing about teenaged romance rather than... IDK, child endangerment? But this is still so annoying. It's like, do these people want teenaged characters to have cool adventures, or do they want the adults to be realistic adult caretakers? I think they'd hate that second story, because they're reading a gen adventure about teen heroes. You can read about competent adults if you want to, AO3 is full of that because people find competence sexy.
This is both me venting, and me adding to the conversation about "oh no but the children!!!" comments, because these people actually DO get upset about violence and teen endangerment, not just sex & romance, and I think a lot of people who write more about sex don't necessarily realise this kind of side to it exists.
But yeah, my pet peeve is: commenters getting mad that teens have adventures in fiction.

Curiosity question: how far ahead are you in a story than what you post? For example with Georgie, do you have like key things that you want to happen or is it as the story gets written, you post it?
It depends on the story and also sometimes changes depending on circumstances; when we were in the final thrust of Jared, for example, I had the final five parts or so all in various stages of completion months in advance (ditto Joey, though that was more an amorphous 'this happened at The Wedding'), and certain lines in the epilogue were written over a year before I posted it.
And then sometimes I'm discovering what's going on as it happens (this is more common by far). With a few exceptions, I'm posting as I complete things, with the next part either not yet begun, or in the early stages (Robbie's POV is well underway, but that was an exception case as well.) Fun thing with Holden and James I always post the part before starting the next, so they're literally reacting to the previous part/one another.
Now, that isn't to say I don't know the general thrust of things, or what's coming -- like I said, I knew what IJ(aoe)'s epilogue would involve long before it occurred, and that also applied to Jared's landing spots, as well as Bryce's trade.
But even those weren't necessarily written in stone until the moment they were posted for a couple reasons. All my series are character driven. so if a plot point no longer makes sense given the characters, the plot point gets chucked, not the characterisation (one of my biggest pet peeves in a narrative is 'you created a character who would never do the thing you just made them do').
Also, if I know too much about what's coming my brain goes 'oh guess there's no point in writing it, then'. The sense of discovery is one of my favourite parts of writing. Those 'oh. oh shit.' moments are precious to me, and when I work too far in advance, they don't happen.
So I'm usually one step ahead, sometimes zero steps ahead, and, rarely, several steps ahead but willing to backtrack.

AND ANOTHER THING! Going off of my tags on my previous post, outside of me just thinking they're cute I also feel like flowerbyte works better for me purely on a narrative level. One of my biggest pet peeves esp for action movies is when the romantic subplot takes over like half the story without proper development. It doesn't matter WHO it is or how much I like the characters individually I will literally fast forward through every romantic scene if it feels shoehorned in. It makes it so tedious you don't even understand. (Haterism ahead. Well not really 'hate' just mild irritation really. this is looong):
So let's look at Gwen and Miles' relationsip. We start ITSV with Miles basically having a one-sided crush on Gwen. By the end of the film they had just agreed to be friends and have known each other for maybe like a week tops, and *maybe* Gwen reciprocates but it's not extremely clear. Whatever occurs between them in between ITSV and ATSV, we don't see (it's implied that they haven't even seen each other at all for obvious reasons so. oof).
But then we jump into ATSV, and suddenly they're swinging into the sunset talking about how they're "the same"...? Besties. Friends. Niece and nephew. Neither of you know each other dfghjkl
Then the wholeee rest of their scenes together is just the film trying desperately convince us through the music, framing, and even other characters' dialogue that there is romantic (notice how i specify ROMANTIC) tension between these two kids that is just so thick you could cut through it with a butter knife. I'm sorry, but is this tension in the room with us right now...? But okay movie.
Now, compare that to the scene in ATSV where Miles and Margo first bump into each other. They're able to establish romantic chemistry almost IMMEDIATELY! One look and a 'hey'. That's all it fuckin' took! They *both* like each other and it's clear as day.
Then right after, Margo is given a quick implied backstory that instantly gives her and Miles a reason to relate to each other that isn't (necessarily) just about them both being Spider-Man (because, in Margo's words, they're ALL Spider-Man and this means you need more than that to form a genuine connection). Neither of them feel like they can be themselves because their environment at home doesn't allow for it, even without the secret identity. Bada-bing bada-boom instant connection in under 5 minutes and I am still awake by the end of it.
Then, finally, we get a scene that shows that they can, to some extent, trust each other. Margo only just met this dude a few scenes ago, but she immediately goes against Miguel's wishes knowing the consequences and attempts to send him back home because her convictions are stronger than her loyalty to Spider Society. Just that act alone makes her a better ally to Miles than like, half the cast at this point.
...And that creates a bit of a dilemma if Gwiles is meant to be endgame.
As literally everyone and their mother have pointed out by now, Gwen is objectively a bad friend to Miles in this film. But...I would also argue that there are very few instances outside of combat in either film where she's even a *good* friend. And that's sort of the point, isn't it? Gwen has been terrible at friendship for the majority of the time we spend with her because she's traumatized from literally murdering the last good friend she had. Then her dad tried to shoot her. Then Miguel-- you know how it goes. She clearly has a long way to go before even a healthy *friendship* with Miles can start to develop. So that leaves me with a few questions:
A) Why did we wait until the last scene of the SECOND FILM for her to finally decide to be a good friend
B) Why didn't they just give Miles and Gwen more scenes together where they actually get to know each other if their relationship is now so important to the story, and:
C) If Gwen's whole journey is about her inability to maintain strong friendships...Why the FUCK is she the love interest then???
Either we all just got baited, or we are now going to have to spend a decent portion of BTSV watching Gwen try to salvage a friendship that was barely even that developed to begin with, convince the guy whose trust she just lost that she would ALSO make a good girlfriend i guess, and all the while there is now another potential love interest that is clearly, *according to the movie itself*, the better option (or so it seems for now). So like...Where do we go from here?? It just feels like a clumsy narrative decision. And if they do the misogynistic ass 'cat-fight' between two female characters over the main guy I will literally commit a felony. So yeah that's where my head is at right now thank you for reading all the way through my tangent over pixels on a screen sorry everybody

some of your posts actually got me thinking about these questions! i'm very curious how people feel about this sort of stuff, since my own fandom opinions are relatively mild and it got me wondering how other people's experiences compare...
so how about #'s 2 (for stony), #9 and #27 (other than frostshield??😉)
Thank you for the ask (and for creating the game)! Lol, I'm glad me and my inability to keep an opinion to myself was a part of the inspo <3 And sorry for the long wait!!!
2) What's your biggest stony pet peeve?
BIGGEST? Oh man, I'm not sure...Teenification of Tony Stark. He's written so...infantile and emotionally weak (I love vulnerability, but my word choice of him being written as weak is my gripe) in many Stony fics. It genuinely gets on my last nerve. He's damn near 40 in AV1. And he only gets older. And sure, maybe there's some arrested development there, but he isn't a damn child. He knows this. And actually conducts himself well enough in canon (in a way that matches his issues) but it's the fanon portrayal I don't like.
WAIT...I think I have something that's popular for the ship itself. Not very fan of the lengths that misunderstandings go for Steve and Tony...Like, I understand they aren't great at communication, but sometimes it gets to the point where I'm like, "It's passed dense and shot straight into pure asshole territory". I know a lot of people write like this because of CACW, but hot take, I don't think CW was so much of a communication or misunderstandings problem. I'll elaborate on this in a separate post, maybe. But the way misunderstandings are drawn out with seemingly no reason gets on my nerves, but it really depends. I can love misunderstandings, but it can't be something that's contrived for drama's sake.
Oh! Another one is in AUs where Steve was still Captain America, and Tony is still Iron Man, and Howard was still lovesick after Steve died and Tony knew all about Steve as a child....and then the AU has Steve undercover or something and Tony doesn't recognize Steve's face. LOL. This sounds specific, but this exact set up has happened enough to where it bothers me. Like, it's kind of funny though, how annoyed I get over it lmao.
9) What's something that bugs you in fanfiction that you encounter often but isn't necessarily a dealbreaker for you as a reader?
I have a lot of not-dealbreakers. Primarily because if I were to strictly stick to my vision of every possible portrayal, I'd have like 3 fics to read. I'm picky in theory, not so much in practice because I'm also extremely greedy. I'll give one each for Stucky and Stony.
Stucky: That Steve crashed the Valkyrie because he was so sad about Bucky dying. I talk a little about how much I generally dislike this trope here. I think it's a huge disservice to this character, I will never take it seriously, and I will never write it. But, it's not a dealbreaker as long as it's not repeatedly more than....let's say 3 times in a fic. Looking back, I already gave this answer, so an additional one - Bucky being community dick and then getting upset that Steve doesn't realize that Bucky wants him and the tone of the fic also supporting that Bucky has a right to be mad lol. It's a weirdly common narrative point in a lot of fics and I just don't care for it. It's actually one of the reasons I tend to stay away from pre-CATFA fics. This trope also happens in Stony too, now that I'm thinking about it. What's up with that?
Stony: I (unsurprisingly) have a few to choose from, but I'll say - when it's written like Steve was horrifically out of line or the aggressor in AV1. It's super common (from throwaway lines to paragraphs about how Steve was an asshole) and there is a fine line that this has to walk for me not to dip. Usually, it's a couple of line about it, which I can ignore.
27) What's something that you think [insert fandom/pairing] doesn't have nearly enough of that you're starving for?
I have an embarrassing amount of rare pairs that I ship and I've been itching for a chance to let them out (/ = romantic or sexual, & = platonic).
Steve & Wanda. Oh my goodness, I am absolutely starving for more fics that show their growing bond from AOU to CACW. I would eat it up. Even in AUs, honestly. I said in another ask that I dislike kidfics, but guess what I'm outlining right now involving kid!Wanda...I just think there is something to explore there with Steve's care towards Wanda in canon. I feel like he understands her, to an extent, and anything he doesn't understand, he tries to sympathize with. He reaches out to her and that's so, so important to me. Because I adore Wanda. So much.
Rumlow/Steve. I want to clarify, not so much as a romance pairing (though I have read a couple like that), but more so as a one-sided creepfest on Rumlow's end. Something about him feeling an erotized violence/hatred towards Steve is so delicious to me. In my mind, it's not even love/hate - it's obsession. Maybe even coupled with a childhood admiration morphing into a disturbed/twisted fixation on Steve. I think this Rumlow likes to see Steve hurt. I also think he hates to be kept away from him. He's not deluded enough to think that Steve loves him back, he in fact, probably loves how much Steve hates him after the Hydra reveal. Yum.
Carol & Steve. Nothing much to say here, but I'm sure it's not too surprising. Captain Marvel is my 2nd most-watched MCU movie after CATFA. And I think their stories and journeys and experiences are so, so amazingly similar that I cannot resist the temptation of wanting them to be in every scene together. The squeal I let out when she first met Steve probably broke a few records.
Can I get a little more obscure? I have Steve-ships with characters who aren't in the MCU. Here's a speedrun, no elaboration:
Din Djarin (The Mandalorian)/Steve Rogers
Kushina (Naruto) & Steve Rogers
Sesshomaru (Inuyasha) /Steve Rogers
Ginko (Mushishi) & Steve Rogers
Epsilon (Pluto) & Steve Rogers
Kurenai/Steve/Asuma (Naruto).
Izaya Orihara (Durarara) & Steve....or Izaya/Steve...Izaya would hate him so much haha.

Only Friends Episode 12 (Finale) - Begin Again
Where we come full circle with our group of friends
Top & Mew
Tumblr media
We all know Mew can be condescending and in my opinion, somehow a control freak. We see it with the way he interacts with Top and Boston with this episode. For example, when he asked (really cajoling) Top to be friends with Ray and apologises to Sand (and when the latter didn't really eventuate from Top's part cause he is a bit iffy about it, Mew engineered it so that Sand can take revenge on Top by kissing him during the spin-a-bottle game on New Year's Eve i.e. getting the 2 boys to duke their frustration - this was a funny scene though). Or how about the way he casually told Top his wishes for him during the upcoming year is for Top to not be an asshole despite Top showing the opposite ever since he got back together with Mew. Or how he firmly just cut out Boston in his life (although this is his prerogative and he can chose who he wants to keep in his life. I don't blame Mew though - Boston was one of his closest friends, and the betrayal must have stung so badly. Furthermore, when you see the effort Top puts in to earn Mew forgiveness when compared to the sole apology we got from Boston - yeah, not good).
On the other hand, Top can't help being arrogant and subtly putting down people who he thinks are lesser than him - the way he casually tries to upped Sand during the firework scene by informing Mew he can easily buy a building for Mew to do his business is a great example of this.
Tumblr media
But at the same time, TopMew works because they have grown to trust and communicates with each other while navigating their relationship. It's evident Top is head over heels for Mew, and personally, I think Mew holds the upper hand in their dynamics because Top is just so whipped for him. Admittedly, Top becomes a better person around Mew (likely cause Mew just nag him otherwise -lovingly of course!) while simultaneously also helping him face his fears and trauma from the past. My one criticism for this couple is that I wish we could have explore a bit of Top's backstory (that 2 mins fire scene at the end? - we see a hint of vulnerability and how Top overcome his fear because he is focus on Mew, but it will have been great if we see more about how this shaped him as a person and how they will try and navigate it in the future)
My favourite scene from the finale episode is when TopMew having an honest conversation in the bathtub while they negotiate their pet peeves because it's just so real. I also love the Ray/Top interactions as they flex their wealth (about custom-made couch of all things :D) while Mew fondly peek on them from another room.
Tumblr media
Also, may I say, I love the cheeky ending we got when Mix's character rock up to the hostel as their first guest (I believe his name is Bobo?). Bobo smiling suggestively to Mew with Top eyeing him suspiciously - I cackled!
Sand & Ray
Again, it's fascinating to see the character developments while at the same time how true to their base personalities as we reach the pinnacle episode.
Sand will always be a people pleaser and puts other people's need before himself while Ray is selfish to the core but at the same time fiercely protective (and possessive) towards his loves one. And so, I was fascinated when Boeing was introduce as the catalyst to address these issues.
We can tell Sand has some unresolved feelings on Boeing - I don't think he is necessarily in love with Boeing but this was his first relationship and he invested 3 years of his life with Boeing. So, he likely has lingering feelings and some part of him will always be fond of Boeing. Plus, we know Sand has difficulty in saying NO (we see that clearly with how Ray essentially barge his way into Sand's life despite Sand feeble attempts to put some boundaries up).
Tumblr media
And so, it fell on Ray to take action on behalf of Sand to deal with Boeing. Yes, he is jealous and insecure about where he stands with Sand when Boeing comes intruding. Hence, the invitation of essentially threesome (listen, I say it with previous posts, but even from the beginning when Ray didn't know what his feelings towards Sand was - all he knew is he wanted Sand's attention. He suggested, or at least alluded to a threesome every time Sand is seen with someone else. Because in Ray's mind, if Sand can't accept him alone, he is probably thinking "I am willing to share him, as long as I am in his life." I also think Ray clocked how Sand never took up on any of the threesome, which means Sand chose him over others. So, Ray inviting Boeing is another way to force Sand to choose him over Boeing.) Did it backfire slightly on Ray behalf? - Yes, because we all know Ray is a loveable disaster muffin. But, I thought it showed growth on Ray behalf (albeit only slightly) when he had a blunt but calm conversation with Sand post-swimming pool scene (cause we all know the Ray a few episodes ago will probably get drunk and turn into raging mess) - stating he dislikes having Boeing around Sand, and gave Sand the ultimatum. And if Sand chose to be with him (Ray), he will deal Boeing on behalf of him - cause he (and we) know Sand is too kind to do so otherwise.
Tumblr media
Not gonna lie, a protective Ray is suave and the whole scene with Boeing at the pool table with Sand (plus Mew) looking amusingly was satisfying to watch. Similarly, I adore the way Sand reclaimed the jab Boeing made when the latter insinuated Sand was just a dog for Ray.
Tumblr media
I love the ending we got for SandRay - from the romantic stroll and dance they did in the parking lot and the heartfelt conversation they had in Ray's car whilst listening to music. These 2 balance and complement each other. As mentioned previously, Sand will put others need before him, and we see that when he willingly gave up his plum wine business and his occupation as bar singer, his 2 main source of income to make sure Ray has minimal access to alcohol. But at the same time, Ray while still a pampered prince(ss), loves Sand and learning to put Sand's need ahead of himself. Ray is willing to face his demon (alcohol) because he knows Sand will support him. So, I appreciate the gesture when we see Ray told Sand to restart his plum wine business (it also helps of course Ray is rich!)
Tumblr media
Nick & Boston
Ah....look, I know people are divided with this couple but I personally thought the ending we got for Nick/Boston are fitting for both of them.
Tumblr media
I have no doubt these 2 love each other - but fundamentally, their principles on what they define as relationship and sex are at the extreme end of the spectrum.
From the start we know Boston is highly promiscuous and clear in what he wants - no string attached, mainly one night stands. Meeting Nick slightly changed that cause for the first time, he found someone who he connects emotionally. But he cannot change who he is - he views emotional relationship + intimacy as something that is separate from physical intimacy. To him these 2 are not inclusive.
At the start, when Nick/Boston were FWB - Nick could accept Boston as he is because Boston has made it clear from the start with the above rules (although we can all tell it is bittersweet for Nick- he is so in love with Boston that he willing to take whatever Boston gives him).
Tumblr media
But the miscommunication lies when Boston asked Nick to become his boyfriend in episode 11. Yes, Nick is aware there is a time limit to their relationship because of Boston's upcoming move to New York. However, it is clear for Nick, being boyfriend means inclusive in all ways, not just emotionally and attention-wise. Unfortunately, Boston did not made this clear from the start (look if both of them agreed for an open relationship, then by all means - go for it!). But this is not the case for Nick, and when Nick attempts to explain this to Boston - the latter turns the narrative back to Nick, firmly stating this is who he is and if Nick wants any relationship with Boston, he needs to accept Boston's ultimatum. I truly think Boston thought Nick will fold (yet again) and give in because that's what Nick has done each time (including Nick approaching Boston to apologise at the Halloween Party or when Boston is at his lowest on the rooftop after being cut off by all his friends).

So, it's great to see Nick choose to love himself and prioritise his needs. And Nick is correct, Boston don't have to change his ways - fun and loves to party, confident with his sexuality and essentially a slut (no shame on that!). However, Nick now wants more than what Boston can offer him, and that is also fine.
(But hey, do we all think Nick is now back with Daddy Dan??)
Overall, I enjoyed the finale. I think it remains rooted to the realism I expected as I watch the show. Also, I enjoyed the journey and growth we see with each of our character, but at the same time, still keeping true to their personalities.
I will definitely miss the show and it will linger on for a long time in me heart 🙂 (what am I going to watch on Saturday now?)

Sweet sweet headcanons..
I'd like RIP for K,
SUV for N
ZYN for M
and FAQ for B
pretty please. I hope they aren't too many, if they are, you could just pick one of those to answer?
Kade/Kara:
R = Random(How spontaneous is their relationship? Do they do things on the spot or plan ahead?)
In the middle. They don't mind being spontaneous, but they also enjoy the structure of having something well thought out. It may just be the lawyer in them, but they tend to plan things ahead of time.
I = Intimacy(How romantic are they? Do they have problems with intimacy?)
They're very romantic. Romance is something that's super important to them, and they'll definitely try to showcase that through their actions. As for intimacy? They don't necessarily have an issue with it, but sometimes they just need a moment to sort themself out before anything else.
P =Playful(Are they playful in a relationship? If so, how do they play around/mess with their s/o?)
They're not super serious, no. Having a fun day in the house, when you usually do household chores, is something that would definitely be up their alley. They may not be the most playful, but they definitely can be so. Especially if it means that they get to see you smile and laugh.
Nicholas/Natalie:
S = Sleep(How do they sleep with their s/o?)
Half Spoon. They like to feel that you're there in bed with them, but they also don't like to be sequestered in one spot for too long. So, being given the choice to be able to move if, or when, they wish to is a big thing.
U = Unique(What makes them unique as a s/o?)
N simply being N makes them a unique S/O. They're not like the other ROs, just like the other ROs aren't like them.
V = Vulnerable(How long until they can be vulnerable around their s/o? What are they like in this state?)
It may come as a surprise to some, but they're an extremely guarded individual. It may not appear to be that way because of their timidness, mixed with their shy personality, and their seeming openness, but it takes them a while to actually open up on the things that truly matter to them. When they do so? They're completely open, without any pretenses, and they don't hold anything back.
Michael/Margot:
Z = Zeal(Are they passionate as a s/o? Do they want or like passion?)
Very much so. Passion, romance, and everything mean a great deal to them because it helps them showcase how much they care for you. They'll never not want you, and they'll never not showcase it to you, because you alight that fire within their heart.
Y = Yuck(Do they have any pet peeves about their s/o? Are there any habits that might bother their s/o?)
I don't truly know... I'm not aware of various MC habits. Something that M can find annoying? If someone is always late, no matter what. There can be reasons, of course, and M is more than accepting of it, but if it becomes a thing? That can get on their nerves. As for them? They're a workaholic at times, and they're more than aware of the problems that can arise because of it.
N = Night out(What type of dates do they like to go on? How often do they like to go on them?)
They're fine with doing anything the MC may wish to do -- within reason, of course. However, they do have a hectic schedule normally and they do enjoy going out and having a candlelit dinner followed by a moonlit walk, they're also more than happy with simply watching a movie on the couch with you with some takeout. It's something that they'd look forward to doing while they're on a long shift.
Blaine/Blaire:
F = Fear(What do they do if their s/o is scared? How do they handle it?)
Be as comforting as they possibly can be. Try to figure out the source of the problem and go from there. If they think that you need something then they'll go and get it-- while doing it as fast as they can-- before staying with you and being there for whatever you may need/want.
A = Affection(How affectionate are they with a s/o?)
They're an affectionate person regardless? When you're in a relationship it just gives them more ammo to use. Now they can give you cheek kisses, interlace your fingers together, and many other things.
Q = Questions(Do they ask their s/o their opinion on things? Do they share theirs?)
Yes and yes. They always want a second opinion on something. They may not follow through on the other opinion, but they at least want to hear what someone else may think about it.

how do you think Soichiro and the task force would deal with a female! L? I think In canon Soichiro does grudgingly respect L and goes along with a lot of his insane schemes. I don't think Soichiro hates L as some people interpret their relationship, but I do think that he'd be a little more comfortable second guessing her and being protective of his own daughter. Especially if she suspects Light, he might accuse this of being more personal. I also low key think that since L is 24 the more bold guys on the taskforce might uh question why she isn't married and worry about her "Christmas cake" status which would annoy her to no end. Light encouraged this both to have fun messing with her rival and sew chaos in the task force (while secretly hating the idea of a man marrying L because only SHE is good enough for L!)
Another good question!
I am basing this mostly off my own idea of the characters and how I would write them in a fic or something rather than exactly how I think Ohba would write it himself, but I think after the initial surprise and slight gruff uncomfortableness that Soichiro would act fairly similarly toward fem!L for the most part. He'd maybe be one of the more respectful and less awkward of the task force about her not being a guy. I think he's fairly mature and compassionate and even fairly flexible at times about changing his views on certain things whenever he's challenged on his POV. I believe after the initial shock that he'd still try to be respectful and deferential to her as his boss, since the stakes are so incredibly high, and since she has proven herself to be the only only who can ever solve the unsolvable cases like these so many times before in the past. If he WAS at all a bit more sexist toward her at times, I think it would be mostly a paternalistic sort of sexism, where he sees her almost like one of his daughters and feels an exaggerated sense of worry about her safety/honour, and will yell at the other men for being rude/ignorant if they step out of line too much with her (like if say, Matsuda said something awkward and inappropriate to her because she was a woman). And yes, I think it would be mostly the rest of the task force that might have a harder time with a female L. I could see fem!L and Matsuda getting along even less, because he'd probably say and do all those things that are her biggest pet peeves about being the only woman in the group / in a leadership position with a team of all guys... I don't know if she'd really be his type necessarily, but he'd probably just be hyper aware of her gender and unthinkingly say his own clueless takes about women to her constantly, which would probably mentally exhaust her and annoy her to no end (he's just written to be that guy on the team who is always saying/doing the wrong thing and putting his foot in his mouth constantly, you know haha). Aizawa would probably be a bit awkward about it as well, and maybe question her authority and her trustworthiness even more than he already does with male L ... Can't really see Mogi acting all that different, he mostly just keeps almost 100% of his thoughts to himself. I had never heard of that "Christmas Cake" thing before, so I had to look it up, but omg I could definitely see that. Haha hopefully L would just take it in stride, but I would be cringing on her behalf nonetheless!

Thr inconsistency in warcraft lore shoulf br studied. I tip my hat to all the fanfiction writers for putting up with all the work-breaking jumbo. With that said what's your biggest pet peeve in retconed lore or similar?
Retcons that exist solely because one writer decides they didn't like a previous writer's work or don't want to read through it to make sure what they're writing works with it — not because there's anything about the work that hinders new plans going forward, or because it's dated and tasteless, but simply because they didn't respect it.
(Secondary to this: the fact that the different writing teams all appear to be working without any form of communication, also resulting in strange inconsistencies and instantly-retconned lore.)
Retcons aren't necessarily the devil, but the big problem I think is that they're used as a cheap 'fix' instead of actually getting into the nitty-gritty of what the problem is and how to resolve it through the medium of storytelling, because of course it's a lot cheaper and faster to just retcon the problem than to create an entire questline or commission a story to resolve the issue that's between them and the actual story they want to tell.
But it really stings to see good older lore left on the wayside because whoever was given the reins doesn't care for it one way or another, especially when what it's replaced with lacks charm or character.
As a massive IP Warcraft does have a truly colossal catalogue of old lore and I feel that part of the problem may be writers not being properly on-boarded with it, or else being assigned to writing quests and storylines for areas of the lore they're less familiar with as a way to gain 'experience' — whoever wrote the Kaldorei heritage questline seems to have only the most superficial grasp on night elf lore, for example.
But I think my biggest bugbear is when the novelization and the in-game information on events/characters are completely different, or when the Horde and the Alliance version of the same questline presents completely different stories.
Battle for Azeroth is rife with this, particularly the War of the Thorns where you have three separate versions of the story: the Alliance questline, the Horde questline, and the novelization (Elegy/A Good War) that all establish different, sometimes conflicting events and different motivations for the consistent events.
If you only played Horde in BfA, you're probably a bit confused as to why the night elf players are accusing the Horde of massacring every night elf civilian in Ashenvale and exterminating entire towns during the War of the Thorns.
For a more recent example, I think War of the Scaleborn is fascinating insofar that it appears to be operating in an entirely separate continuity from the rest of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, which I think is in large part due to the novel most likely being written in 2022 on what was likely a draft of Dragonflight's plot (its original release date was slated to be November 2022, but it was delayed by just shy of a year.)
By the time the novel released, all of the foundation it had been built on was almost entirely eroded not only as the game progressed without regards to the unreleased novel, but as gears shifted towards preparing for the Worldsoul Saga and the retooling of characters and plotlines to fit those plans.
Which massively sucks for Alameda, because I doubt the delay on the novel's release was her fault.

matchmaking event #1
request:
1.pronouns/identity - she/her, afab
2. I don't know my mbti/enneagram anymore, but I'm mostly introverted, have a small close circle of friends I spend my time with, but also a larger group of good peeps that I know and get along with. Very intuitive, don't like drama (but sometimes I just want that tea spilled!), I can take time to warm up to people. Homebody who likes the not-so-rare spontaneous adventure for a day trip, somewhat nerdy but also punk rock/witchy aesthetic. Secretly spicy and ready to fight if needed y Don't necessarily like to take the lead but often have to because no one else will (Personality and brief is hard - there's layers like an ogre!)
3. Hobbies - knitting/crafting, writing, photography, watching TV/movies, tarot, spending time with my dog/ animals. Sitting with my friends watching shows and just chilling.
Marvel over DC. I have too many hobbies.
4. Pet peeves - Drunks are annoying, as are ultra-conservatives. People calling me on my phone, especially without warning ( don't use it for that! Lol)
5. Appearance - dark hair, blue eyes, average height, curvy/plus size.
𓂃 ˖ ִֶָ𐀔 your match is…
Tumblr media
Copia!!!
-you and copia are the worlds biggest couch potatoes together
-as we know copia loves movies and is a bit of a dork so he is more than willing to sit down and watch marvel movies with you.
-i feel like he’s a DC person just cause he’s a little more old school but he likes the comics haha
-you two talk through movies with eachother, him sharing his favorites with you, and you with him
-he loves your animals.
-he talks to them like they’re people
-and when he’s alone, gives them each voices and talks back as them.
^when you catch him doing that he is mortified but it’s adorable haha
-doesn’t know much about tarot but he will ask for a reading just to hear you talk
-he’ll even ask to listen in on other people’s readings just because he’s so in awe of your knowledge
-he really appreciates your intuition because it helps in his decision making, he’s not the most decisive person and your input always makes him feel secure, he trusts your sense of right and wrong <3
-you and copia gossip the house down in private but once someone tries to involve either of you it’s a harsh no.
-copia knows you’re not a fan of calling and he respects that. but simultaneously, he texts you all the time. it’s not like he even expects you to text back, it feels like he’s just taking notes in your conversation. also uses a trillion emojis because boomer.
-since you’re a good photographer and that’s not exactly his forte he’ll send you the world’s worst pictures to get a laugh out of you. very dramatically set up. spends 15 minutes learning how to use the countdown feature on the camera app and add filters, then sends you a black and white picture of him dramatically looking out the window. nothing is in focus. he’s like halfway in the frame. or he’ll sneak selfies from under the table during meetings which makes the angle hilarious.
-if you two are staying fairly sober at a party together, you are like the parents of the group, making sure a ghoul doesn’t pass out on the floor or terzo doesn’t start dancing on top of a table (again)
-if he’s drunk, he tries not to act drunk because he doesn’t want to get on your nerves but it’s honestly adorable cause he’s really bad at it
-asks you to make things for his rats with your crafting and knitting skills.
i hope you had fun reading!!! you sound like a lovely person ❤️

HC question: what does Henry think of his name? His first one and last one. Does he think it suits him, or is it something he gradually grew into?
hmmmmmmmmmm neat question I haven't ever approached it from like, his ic opinion on it before I don't think?
I'm not sure... I don't really think he'd have a suits/doesn't suit opinion about being 'Henry' because it's like. One of those things he just is? One of my sources: just trust me headcanons about him is that he's not very prone at all to like... that thing people are capable of where they think of themselves and their body and their minds and their souls all as like, separate things? And that extends to like. Everything about him is him, and he's neither critical nor vain about himself, he just is. If that makes sense? To be like.... "I hate my hair" or even "I love myself" it too... self-removed? Whereas his approach to self is like. He is. And he trusts that he is. (Which isn't to say he's completely devoid of personal preference, obviously he has his shiny bits and his good luck totems and his tattoos and he prefers comfortable dress over fashionable dress but still has... it's definitely a personal style, anyway. Which prioritizes function but isn't exclusively function based. (Let's be honest there's nothing practical about the necklace. Noisy! Heavy! Capable of being grabbed in a fight or snagged in other situations!!)) I'm digressing but the point I'm trying to work on is: his name is just this sort of irrevocable part of his person, to him, and he no more likes or dislikes it than he likes or dislikes that he is a person. Which is to say, he has no opinion on being a person, he simply is one. If it had felt wrong, and he'd chosen some sort of moniker or ended up with some manner of nickname, I think it would still remain part of him. In a different way, but. I think this is just... some of the way he is. He has been given things, names and tools and treasures, that are simply just part of him. And it doesn't occur to him to really pick them apart into which he likes and dislikes, usually. He's not just called Henry, he is Henry.
.. I've thought it was because "Henry" as a name doesn't nickname easily (and like, with the established nicknames.... he's not a 'Harry' for Obvious reasons and he's definitely not a Hank holy shit scoob) but maybe that's why he doesn't lend to them so easily, actually? He picks up some endearments -and some insults- but nothing that's... especially derivative or unique, like something someone would call only him. And maybe that's why? Maybe we all agree, He's Henry. At least whenever he's not The (Turner) Boy.
[Which as a completely unrelated aside might also be. Part of my "if you're going to ignore dmtnt canon then just don't call the w!llabeth kid Henry then" pet-peeve when it comes to fanfic as well ;sdkfjg;ldkfgj like that is! a whole different child, then!! get 'em a new name with this new identity because that's for sure not Henry you have said so yourself. grrr snarl bark.]
Now depending on where you think the name came from I do also think it's really interesting that. He's potentially named something that -to Elizabeth- is a pirate name. I don't know if this is a me-thing or a fandom-thing (it's. almost definitely not a the-writers thing because he was Henry before he was even Turner so that means they didn't pick it based in these thoughts at all) but I maintain he's named after Henry Morgan, and some of that has to do with Elizabeth's childhood infatuation with pirate stories, and some of it has to do with her adult appreciation of the Code and captaining. And because she was not going to doom her child to whatever blatant curse my live on the name ".William Tu.rner" that consigns a man to be cursed and killed and claimed by the sea (though some things are at least somewhat inevitable, apparently). And so while Henry might not... well no he probably knows and has thoughts about that but like. While Henry wouldn't necessarily find a reason to like or dislike his name there, it is interesting to have his name tied to intentionally and specifically to piracy and infamy and the code itself.
And he's got a dead man's name for his middle name, Henry James. Which is pure and solidly headcanon (and let me tell you how often I run into 'Henry William' and 'Henry Jack' and, once, 'Henry Weatherby' which is very sweet but also immensely silly, as a name, and only slightly less unfortunate than 'William Weatherby') and I don't think he exactly likes or dislike that either but I do think it's. maybe a little heavy, sometimes. Maybe even a little uncomfortable? To be not just his family legacy but a legacy of shattered possibility. Not in a way that makes him resentful but that definitely makes him conscious of names and lines and loss.
And then like. Can a last name ..not suit you? It has very little to do with you, most of the time, if you think about it. And also everything to do with you, though. Nothing to be mad at or anything there for him, anyway. But I guess maybe it's also heavy in its own way but I don't know that that's purely because of the name he's really just sort of. going to pick that up even if he had always been called Swann. Which, I do think he is, also. And I think he gives it that way sometimes, when it bears being said out loud because someone did something stupid like forgot about it, or acted like it was irrelevant and not literally his largest influence and honest to god a big explanation about the way that he is. 'Look like your father' this and 'turner boy' that, why is everyone stupid he'll chain you to a sinking ship and let you get eaten by a literal sea monster for his loved ones. (Well. no probably not, he'd find a secret third way, this is his narrative function -to break the narrative rule, to flip a double bird at your catch 22 while he has his cake and eats it too- but if he wasn't an inherent system breaker he would. I stand by that.)
I think this is getting worse the longer I go on let me,,, try to bring it back.
I think his name, which if you ask me is H.enry James Swann-Turne,r with the occasional turn at donning Sparrow wings every now and then, is very. a lot. It's a lot. It carries legends and deaths and love and curses and wind and wildness. And sometimes I think it's a heavy thing to be carrying around, and now and then maybe even a frustrating thing. But I don't think... whether it suits him ever crosses his mind. Because I don't think... I don't think whether or not he "lives up to it" crosses his mind either? Which would maybe ultimately be the question here? Because you know for all the things he sits in the cross section of and all the cycles broken for him and by him, and all the history in all those names you could call him by, and all the sort of... thoughts that might invoke and places that leads him and doors it opens (and doors it closes) the thing about Henry is. He's going to do whatever it is he's going to do. What he decides to do.
And I know I've gone on some extended rant about this before so there is a post about it somewhere but I think part of the reason he's so able to be that way and have the confidence he has is directly because of the way he was raised, and the effort his parents went through not to slough all of their traumas and fears onto him, not to set some impossible standard for him to strive for or iron role for him to fit inside. There's this throughline in the franchise about freedom and love and freedom being love, and from that I think giving him freedom to just be whoever he was going to be is exactly the demonstrative love his parents would commit to. The fact that it leads him to grow into the kind of person who then dedicates himself directly to the madness of his family is just... who he is. Not who he felt he had to be —at least not in the way of Living Up To A Name. The conversation of ''only I will'' is a different one. It's an intense name, in some ways. And I think he's aware of the weight it contains, if only because of the way other people have reacted to it. But I don't think he feels... beholden to it? In the way of... something he can fail at being. It's not a thing to grow into it's him. Always has been.

9. Thoughts on cliffhangers.
cliffhangers go in the box on the high shelf that not everyone can access. they need to be used sparingly, and they need to be used responsibly. they are VERY easy to make into a cheap gimmick that either a) relies entirely on the shock value or b) wears out its welcome immediately, but can be effective in the right hands.
i generally don't try to go TOO crazy with cliffhangers in my writing, mostly bc i'm slow as hell and nothing would irritate me more as a reader than to get a cliffhanger and then be sitting on my hands for six months waiting for a dipshit author to get around to writing the resolution. but i'm not opposed to them as a light sprinkling in one's writing. i just don't trust a lot of people to handle them well, and i usually include myself in that equation.
26. What would you describe as OOC?
like 95% of fic i have read lmao. that's mean as hell but i'm very very picky about what i like to read. i tend to get really salty about pet names -- i promise you most of the characters you write calling each other 'baby' Would Not Say That. i also think that people tend to let characterization go out the window when they write porn, and they let their own personal kinks speak first and characters speak a distant second.
dialogue is a big one. i think there's a way to deliberately stylize your writing so that it takes on a theatrical/outsized bent, and so it sidesteps the criticism of not sounding how people actually talk, which is one of my favorite things to both write and read. i love the heightened artificiality of certain exchanges -- a writer who can master that may not necessarily be hewing 100% to canon, but is playing with the characters and twisting them around in a way that is so incredibly satisfying to read.
on the other hand, there are a lot of instances that do the same thing -- writing Not How People Actually Talk -- but it's much more amateurish/clumsy. it doesn't flow or have a natural cadence that suggests the author is secure in their own voice. everyone can write, technically, in the sense that anyone is capable of opening up a notes app or google docs and putting words down, but not everyone knows their own voice. the dialogue becomes very utilitarian and often doesn't shift for different characters' personalities. things like vocabulary, including profanity or the lack thereof, sentence structure/length (eg, does the person ramble, or are they more succinct and to the point?), direct vs indirect communication styles, all contribute massively to a character's personality, and it really takes me out of a story when everyone uses the same interchangeable author-insert drone of a voice in their dialogue.
also, since i am a very trauma-heavy writer, people who ignore canonical traumas tend to irritate the ever-loving shit out of me. a character in a past fandom was shot, and many writers chose to ignore the entirety of their recovery or take any consideration into how this would affect their lives going forward. i understand not wanting to make that a central focus of the story -- writing it's hard work! -- but to just completely erase a major part of the narrative is SUCH a peeve of mine. if a character is broken, then for fuck's sake actually factor it in!! just because canon brushed it off doesn't mean that realistically, this wouldn't have consequences for the person, whether physically, mentally, emotionally, or all three. i love fluff, but i love broken characters more, and when i get the fluffy happy stories, i want weight to them. i want them to feel earned. and i KNOW that's probably unfair of me to people who just want to fuck around in the sandbox for a few hours, but it's such a disservice when i see my faves who are 95% trauma and 5% person be reduced to cheerful giddy stereotypes with no depth whatsoever.
34. Do you write to improve? Or is that not a concern for you?
i definitely do worry a lot about stagnating in my writing or doubling down on bad habits that hold me back. (i am horrible with telling rather than showing, for example, and my sentence structure tends to give me more gray hairs than i already have because it's so goddamn static.) i try to let go of some of that when i'm writing fic because it's a hobby and writing anything and finishing it generally is such a fucking win for me. with how shit-ass garbage for real the publishing world is, i've really lost so much of the drive to go pro, and the thing i feel like has the best chance of ever getting written wouldn't be fiction anyway -- that's a whole different ballgame.
but i do think about trying to sharpen my skills when i set out to write a new piece, yes. i always put a lot of thought, and often way too much thought, into how i want a story to turn out and what i'm trying to achieve with it. i have one i'm working on right now where i'm trying to ensure my parallels actually line up in a way that's going to be emotionally resonant. yeah, it's just a dumb hobby where i move little fictional dudes around and make them be sadder than what canon allowed them to be, but it's also a deeply rewarding and cathartic dumb little hobby. writing can be a purge of your own feelings -- which sometimes works, if you don't overpower a character with your own inner narrative, but sometimes definitely comes off as Oh, You're Going Through It, Huh? -- and a way to foster connection/understanding with people who are struggling to feel seen or understood. and telling stories does engage a certain part of the brain that likes to gnaw on new challenges and figure out ways to stretch itself and inhabit all these different characters who aren't necessarily a 1:1 projection of myself. i like to play around with voice or perspective and not get tied down to one way of telling stories (although i'm not egotistical enough to say i'm even close to succeeding at this; i'm honestly very pedestrian and uncreative when it comes down to the finished product). i'm always looking for a way to take the big, beautiful ideas in my head and actually turn them into stories that live up to the original idealized image i had. do i get there? almost never. but the fight continues.

REPOST DO NOT REBLOG !!
NAME: lauri
PRONOUNS : he / him
PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION : discord absolutely over anything else, IMs next. people i write with are always allowed to ask for my discord, and i recommend that you do bc it's easier for me than IMs as the notifs are 1000x more reliable. and i find it easier to share stuff / ramble about our muses/dynamics there
NAME OF MUSE(s) : i... have many. main ones at the moment are wrio, vautrin, baizhu & blade, bc they're the loudest at rattling their cages rn.
BEST EXPERIENCE : honestly? joining this rpc. it's the first one that (so far, please don't change-) i haven't had any issues with regarding shitty behaviour or shittier people.
RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS :
- vague-posting. i cannot tell you how fucking irritating i find this. it's a shitty & unnecessary thing to do and i will call you out on it if we're friendly and i see you doing it. being vague about something is just inviting drama, and given that so many of us have anxieties, you have no idea who you're subsequently stressing out with your passive aggression.
- plotting, even loosely, with someone & then taking that plot to another version of the same muse. thankfully i don't see too much of this happening these days but, man, it infuriates me.
- hating on someone's headcanons simply bc they don't align with yours. everyone writes a muse differently - that's the beauty of rp. you are allowed to disagree with a headcanon, sure, but if you think your opinion is the only correct one... get out. take your insecurities elsewhere thank u.
MUSE PREFERENCES: morally grey characters, characters who have several layers to wade through and delve into, characters that provide a good challenge for me to write, dogboys.
PLOTS OR MEMES : both. i love plots but i can & will create plots from memes too - and memes are a great way to get things going, to prompt dynamic development & can also just... be fun.
LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : listen. LISTEN. if you've followed me for any length of time you know i love long replies. LIVE FOR THEM. being able to freely write several paragraphs without feeling guilty for dumping essays on my writing partner is delicious. but i'm not opposed to short replies either - they're good for when muse is low, or my energy levels are limited.
BEST TIME TO WRITE : literally the middle of the night. my most productive hours are between 10pm and 4am.
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S) : i have enough muses to be able to say: probably. i do tend to pick muses that resonate with me in some way, whether that's something in their personality or their background that i identify with, or some other aspect of the character that is familiar. that doesn't apply to all of them, necessarily, but certainly the majority.
tagged by: @ruinare (thank u!)

Hi hi!!:)I have a question
Do you think sidereal astrology is more accurate than tropical? I recently learned about sidereal :o
lol i'll be honest i've been DYING for someone to ask me about sidereal.
what i do is all tropical. the scientist in me WANTS sidereal to be more accurate. i don't even mean vedic astrology which is usually what people mean when they say sidereal astrology, but true 100% sidereal with ophiuchus and even other signs thrown in there, and a heliocentric system to boot. and while you CAN do astrology all of these ways.... my lived experience tells me it's just not as good as modern tropical astrology. i don't know why, and that gets under my skin, but it's like quantum mechanics - a model no one really understands fully, that probably (almost certainly) isn't really quite right, but it works better than anything we have so we keep doing it for now. (invoking quantum physics in astrological or other "woowoo" discussions is a pet peeve of mine but if i do it then it's okay, lol)
one thing i have heard, that i would like to have more time to test out for myself personally, or for someone to do a good study on that i could later read about, is that vedic astrology (not necessarily all sidereal systems) is better for making predictions, and tropical western astrology is better for knowing the self. it's an interesting hypothesis but i'm not in deep enough with vedic to have a serious opinion there.
actually i've always struggled to get into vedic because i can't let go of my outer planets. some find it blasphemous but if it isn't clear to yall already my whole approach is a patchwork quilt of what works and what doesn't. outer planets just work for me. ophiuchus just doesn't. placidus houses just work for me. as much as i want whole signs or equal houses to be better, they just aren't. exaltations and detriments are old school but they Make Sense to me (in a slightly modified form.) we should pay more attention to ceres and less to chiron. etc etc.
so anyway to answer your question no i don't but i kinda wish it was.
thanks for the great ask!~

GETTING TO KNOW YOU.
respond to the following prompts out of character. then, tag others that you'd like to get to know a little bit better!
Tumblr media
ROLEPLAYER NAME: Missa
ROLEPLAYER PRONOUNS: She / Her
MUSE NAME: Multimuse ( too many to list here )
PREFERRED COMMUNICATION: IMs. I'm getting back into adding people to Discord as well, but that's a bit slow going.
EXPERIENCE: 12 years on Tumblr ( hhhh ) and 18-ish years spent writing on various forums and instant messengers.
PREFERRED ROLEPLAY TYPE: I mostly write slice of life type stuff these days, although leaning toward fluff or angst is always fine. I can't say I necessarily have a preference : the only thing I don't necessarily prefer to write is fighting ( as in writing physical fights, not arguments ) or smut.
PET PEEVES & DEALBREAKERS:
"WANNA RP" ASKS : These drive me absolutely up a wall. I'm not talking about people reaching out in IMs or asks with "hey I have an idea I want to play out," or sending me plot ideas. No, I mean asks that straight up, just say "wanna rp?" or some variation therein. First off : I'm a roleplay blog. So I feel like the question is irrelevant. But second off, these asks always, always come from non-mutuals who clearly have disregarded my rules to send the ask. I delete them on sight. Petty? Probably. But I cannot stand them.
PUTTING MORE THAN ONE-TO-THREE SPACES BETWEEN YOUR WORDS : So, I can't really see the difference when people put two or three spaces between their words versus one. What I'm talking about here is when people put like... five-to-ten. It makes your posts impossible to read, and if there's some aesthetic to it, I just... don't see it. It just hurts my head and makes me mad.
REPETITIVELY STATING NO ONE WANTS TO WRITE WITH YOU : Yes, this is petty of me, but dear lord. Nothing is more annoying to me than looking at someone's blog and seeing endless pages of them whining or passive-aggresively saying things like "WELL since NO ONE wants to write with me I guess I'll log off" or something like that. It just... drives me up a wall. I get it, it feels like crap when you feel like no one wants to write with you. But this is a hobby, and if it is effecting your mood that deeply that often then you may need to disconnect to prevent the social bleed. Once in a while is one thing, everyone has a down day. I'm talking about blogs where every other post is some variation on this theme.
PLOTS OR MEMES: Memes, honestly. I'm not against plotting, but I am so horrifically bad at it. If you come to me with a plot you wanna play out, I'll probably be game! But I'm... not likely... to come up with anything.
LONG REPLIES OR SHORT REPLIES: Yes. There is no or, the answer is yes. My one exception is one-liners : I don't mind short posts when you give me somewhere to go / something to go off of. But a single line of dialogue is probably not gonna do the trick, unless it's just a silly crack thread.
BEST TIME TO WRITE: Late evening into middle of the night. Sometimes I can also get writing done in the middle of the day, but not often.
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES: Yes and no. On a multimuse like this, the answer is definitely : some of them, absolutely yes. I see a lot of myself in Amity, Eda, Kagami, and Maxi. But others, not in the least.
