Okay, hear me out....grumpy reader/Fives for the sunshine/grumpy prompt list. My favorite is "don't make this weird...but I saw this in the store and got it for you. Figured you'd like it."

Content: a light and fluffy piece, a little bit of yearning, a nice hug, reader is on the grumpier side (and also a chef, random idea that popped in my head)

What were you doing?

You'd asked yourself that a dozen times now as you made your way back to the ship, almost stopping each time to throw the gift bag into the bushes. You weren't a person who bought gifts. That was lame. You didn't even get gifts on most holidays, let alone on a random day in the middle of the year for no reason other than you saw something and it reminded you of someone else and the thought of his face lighting up when you gave it to him compelled you to go ahead and buy it.

Yeah, lame.

You stifled a groan at the thought of how badly you'd be teased for this. Of course Fives would love the gift, and he'd show it off to everyone, and then they'd make fun of you, probably say you'd have a crush or something stupid. You paused in the road again and just stared at the bag, considering every life choice you'd made up that had brought you to this point.

"What's cookin, good lookin?"

Five's familiar voice rang out from down the road as he caught sight of you standing there. He used that ridiculous line to greet you every time, making you regret ever becoming a cook for the GAR in the first place.

"Hi Fives." You were quick to hide the little gift bag behind your back, but not quick enough for the ARC trooper. He was practically bounding down to the road toward you. No amount of subtle maneuvering would've escaped his notice.

"What's that?" he pulled up a few feet in front of you, smirking as he eyed you.

"What's what?" you tried playing it off.

"That bag in your hands."

Your resting face held a frown, which only deepened as you were caught red handed. There was no backtracking anymore, no ditching the gift and pretending it'd never happened. You'd have to give it to him and face the consequences now.

"Oh, yeah, this." You reluctantly brought the bag around in front of you, looked down at it for a moment, and then relented with a sigh. "Okay, don't make this weird... but I saw this in the store and got it for you. Figured you'd like it."

You practically pushed the bag right into him, eager to just get rid of it.

As predicted, Fives was already getting worked up in delight. "Wait, what? You got me a gift?"

He reached in and grabbed the wad of tissue paper and tossed it aside, and then he brought out the little trinket that lay within.

"No way, a river whale?!"

It was a little ceramic figurine of the planet's rare river whale, an animal Fives had been desperate to try and find during their short mission here, but with no luck. You'd only gone into town to return the grill you'd borrowed from a local cook before the ship took off. It had seemed like fate to find a last minute replacement for Fives' dream. The figurine was hand-painted and had cute little beads set in for eyes. It even had a ribbon loop fastened on the top, to be hung like an ornament.

Fives was teetering between beaming with joy and what you feared were actual tears. He was like a kid who'd gotten exactly what he wanted for Christmas.

"Kriff, cookie, you're the best!" he exclaimed with a wobbly voice. You had to ignore that heinous nickname just like you did the other silly little sayings he had with you.

"I said don't make this weird," you grumbled just as he rushed up to hug you. You squirmed at first in his tight embrace, but after a few moments, relaxed a bit and brought an awkward hand up to pat his arm. You would never admit how often you wished the man would hug you like this... among other things.

He let go of you far too soon and brought the gift back up to admire it. It hung from the ribbon off his finger and spun prettily in the sunlight.

"I shall name you... whale-y," he said to it.

You rolled your eyes. "Seriously?"

"Too on the nose?" Fives scrunched up his face in a show of serious consideration. "Hm, what about, bead-y? 'Cause of his eyes."

You just shook your head at him.

"What? Names are hard." He dangled the figurine in front of you. "You name it, then."

"No."

"Come on, he needs a name! Look at him!" He jiggled the ribbon a little so the whale shook in front of you. "Please name me, cookie," he said in a mocked voice of the thing.

You sighed. "I don't know... Willy."

Fives grinned. "Willy it is!"

He continued to laugh as you continued to glare. You would never understand this man and all his silliness and good humoredness. But boy did you like him anyway.

Fives tucked the little figure into one of his belt pockets. "I won't tell anyone, you know."

"Huh?"

"I know you don't like it when you're at the center of attention," he shrugged. He still seemed happy, but some of his energy had settled down into something much softer. "And I know you don't like getting compliments, but uh... this was really nice of you."

"Oh."

You stood there awkwardly. He was right, you didn't like compliments; you had no idea what to do with them.

"We can keep this moment between us," he offered with a small smile.

You nodded shyly back, still not sure what to say. Your heart seemed to be doubling in size, pushing against your chest in a painful but pleasant way.

"Um, I mean..." you tried saying something, finding the words as you went along. "You don't have to hide it or anything. You could hang it in your bunk if you want. Or somewhere else. Anywhere you want, really. It's your gift. So... you know...."

Fives started laughing again, a lower chuckle that showed he was amused but wouldn't make fun of you for it. He saddled up next to you, slung an arm across your shoulders, and started leading you back to the ship.

"Alright, I think I will hang it in my bunk, then. And I'll think of you whenever I see it."

You were grateful he couldn't see the blush that started lining your cheeks. Maybe getting him a gift wasn't such a lame thing after all.

I imagine Roach would tease Fiama while they're stuck in the cabin, maybe while Newman is cleaning themselves in the bathroom:

“Good for you,” Roach says, and Fiama looks at them.

“Are you talking to me?” She holds Bruno closer to her.

Roach chuckles. “No need to use the kid as a shield. You’re obviously taken.” They throw a pointed look at the bathroom, before looking at her again, “In more ways than one.” When Fiama's only answer is staring back at them, Roach stands up and stretches themself. “Hey, it's fine. To be honest, you duped me; I thought you would get up and leave, yet here you are.”

“And I should care about what you think because…?”

Roach grins. “Oh no, you shouldn’t.” They look like they want to add something else, but their amused expression turns softer little by little. “You’ll take care of them, won’t you?”

“I’m planning to,” Fiama replies, her chin high, and Roach realizes she doesn’t appreciate the sudden probing. It’s fine; they wouldn’t either.

“Good. Good for you,” they repeat. “Good for them.” And they mean it.

They would tease Jonny in the cabin too because Roach has no chill:

“How does it feel to be the latest obsession of a monstrosity from space?”

Jonny doesn’t look at them, but his eyes jump to the tiny bathroom before shooting elsewhere.

Roach sighs. Thinks about resting their head against his shoulder for half a second before just going for it. Jonny doesn’t shake them off, but he tenses up—more than he usually does, for a longer time than he usually does. “Jonny-boy…” It’s a plea but they don’t care.

“You two are laughing at me.” Not an accusation, just facts being stated, which is worse somehow.

Roach rests their forehead against his shoulder. “We so aren’t.” They nudge Jonny until their friend sighs. When they look up, he is watching them with a blank expression. “Maybe you’re just that enchanting?” Jonny clicks his tongue, and Roach hugs him. “They are into you, dumbass. They really are.” He says nothing; he just stares wide-eyed, so ready to believe them, and also so afraid. “Don’t chicken out now.”

“I… no, I won’t.” Jonny swallows down and makes to stand up so Roach lets go of him.

When both of them are on their feet, Roach gives his skinny ass a friendly slap. The unimpressed look Jonny throws them has them holding up their hands. “For good luck. Go get them, stud.”

Lastly, they would tease Horizon before shit hit the fan in CH7. They would invite themselves into the Domini’s cabin one evening receiving a vexed look for their trouble:

“So,” Roach begins, paying no mind to Horizon. “Domini, you are a smart cookie. Do you like crosswords?” When they blink in confusion, Roach holds up the magazine they brought along. “Been squeezing my brain for over ten minutes and I can’t find the right word.” They lie the magazine on the table, clear their throat. “Group of whales. And it’s a three letter word.”

Horizon thinks about it for a moment before saying, “A pod.”

Roach grins as they jot down the answer. “Hah, I knew asking you was a good idea. Alright, another one, a container for holding and pouring liquids that usually has a lip or spout and a handle.”

This time the reply is immediate. “Pitcher.” Horizon approaches the table as Roach counts the squares and lets out an impressed whistle. “You’re a walking thesaurus, Domini.”

“Well, I—”

“Third one: someone who is in love slash sexually aroused by their own deity.” They look up at Horizon forming a perfect o with their mouth. The shocked look on the Domini’s face almost makes Roach crack up then and there. “Well well well, this crossword is spicy.”

After that, Horizon isn’t in the mood for games anymore; they are quick to usher Roach out and close the door behind them. Roach is giggling to themself when Horizon reappears.

“And the word is theophile,” the Domini hurls at them.

Roach opens their mouth, reply at the ready, but Horizon shuts the door in their face. Of course, that doesn’t deter them in the slightest. “And you would know everything about that, wouldn’t you?”

"Specially for Della, we got her strawberry milk," the PD handed Della her milk.

[ DELLA's favourite: strawberry milk! ]

"Woahh!" the others cheered while Della had a large grin.

"Thank you!" she thanked with sparkly eyes.

"Guys, just go slowly," Della started off the perfect pitch game calm.

"GUYS! Just go slowly! Take your time!" but then she grew frustrated when they kept trying to rush and ultimately mess up.

"Can't we just start with Della?" Jay laughed when everyone was struggling except for her.

"We can? Okay," Della sat back on her seat again.

"Try doing Nishimura Riki," Niki challenged her.

After training so hard to be a rapper, Della has gone through this exercise countless of times, so she can do it with ease and quickly.

"Nahh, you can sleep on my shoulder if you want though," she nudged him to cut off the expression. "Engenes have seen that already."

"I'm offering 'cause I want you to, not for the show, babes."

"Oppa," Della gave Heeseung a hug as he was concerned about the tower shaking. "It's okay. The tower can hold fifteen or so people up here. Even in the rain," she pat his back.

[ Baby comforting Heedeungi ]

"Fifteen people?! In the rain?!" Sunoo's eyes widened.

"Yeah, I think it was my school friends? They went here," she was partly lying, as it was Treasure and not her schoolmates.

[ DELLA calms the members ]

"Just take your time later on, oppa. It's okay," she ran her hands up and down Heeseung's biceps.

"Are you going zip lining?" Della joked at Sunoo testing the harness.

[ Going zip lining! ]

"Zip lining!" Sunoo fell into her in laughter. "No, I was wondering if it can actually hold my weight," he pulled away and tried again.

"Even if you fall, an angel will come and rescue you," she smirked when she saw Sunoo's blush.

"What is th-" he stood up while covering half his face. "So you'll come and rescue me?" he fired back, nudging her arm. He laughed in delight when she snorted and turned her head away in embarrassment.

[ ...What is this...... ]

"What is that?" Jake suddenly asked Della.

[ ENHYPEN's official translator ]

"That's right. The tall ones who come here are always the most scared," the instructor chuckled. "Alright, good luck."

"Yah! Della-ya! Aren't you scared?" Sunoo yelled when he realised that Della had almost caught on to Jake.

"I'm actually shaking so bad but I want to impress the instructors!" she yelled back. The staff and instructors laughed while the members were either too scared to laugh or trying their best to hold it in.

"YAH! Those at the front! Can you go quicker?! I'm starting to lose my pride and courage!"

"Yah! Niki!" Della called when the second round was over. "Do you still have bullets?!"

"Why are you so cute?!" he picked her up for a few seconds.

"I really hate things like this," she didn't intend to but she switched to her aegyo voice.

"Yah-" he pulled her in to his chest. "Don't get on any of them if you're scared. Don't do it just because we're filming."

"What happened?" Niki rushed to them and placed a hand on Della's back.

"She's terrified to ride any of them," Niki immediately said an 'eyy.'

"Lala, it's okay to be scared," Niki moved Della's head from Jungwon's chest to his, but half her body was still with Jungwon. "Honestly, forcing yourself won't do any good. It's really, really okay."

"Just explain to the viewers why you can't," Jungwon brushed through her hair.

"We're here to have fun," Niki kissed her head. "So don't do it when you're not gonna have fun."

Drew some art of the progression of Lyra's feelings about Ioun

But it's like 11 PM and I should sleep so I'm gonna post the art and make barebones captions/context, go to bed, and might just remake the post if i wake up, look at it, and go "voci. voci...voci thats not enough buddy"

With that in mind!

This is when Ioun apologized to Lyra after they were resurrected (they died in the Zehir fight) and (in my mind) the start of Lyra having. A closer relationship with her, or seeing her as more than just. (Because we legally cannot call Ioun our boss) the person in charge, hense why it's labeled "beginning." Their thoughts in that moment are general feelings of appreciation, surprise, and relief. Debated putting warmth in there as well. Probably too soon. Maybe. Idk!

Transcript: Lyra's dialogue reads "Tough!" which is what they said to the goddess of prosperity trying to offer them deals. Description reads "Loyalty to Ioun after she apologized."

Ioun apologizing combined with Emily inviting Lyra to stay with her once all of this was over (AUUUUUUUGH) pulled Lyra out of their mortality crisis, hence the design change! They're wearing old (aka Elion's) earrings and actually put effort into styling their hair :)

Now a disclaimer on that: I wrote that months ago and while the og idea still holds in that I was planning on doing it, I would absolutely tweak the wording now. Also that's from my writing server so the wording is mostly for me. in terms of what "today" and "everyone else didnt follow orders" means I think that was the Tiamat fight? Timing indicates it's Tiamat. I do not know what "orders" past Voci is referencing. It might be the deals thing. ANYWAY!!

General summary for that point: Closer but still not quite friends. That being said Lyra's more cheery around Ioun and seeking out talking to her just cause.

We had a trial where Emily was trying to make a case about the wording of the curse so we wouldn't have to kill her and only temporarily banish her (and Ioun. And possibly the Raven Queen. And anyone else who ascended) outside of reality. It was a really formal court though so everyone was in like. Proper boring formal wear and Lyra went the safe route of going in a suit yes I know that collar looks scribbly I was drawing in front of a campfire okay

I??? This is hard to describe, but by this point, Lyra's feelings are deeper, like they weren't...flustered by Ioun before, at least not to the same extent, and now they are, if that makes sense. I hesitate to say their feelings got? Deeper or more intense, because the timing makes this extremely fucky. And also feels like I'm in the danger zone in terms of possibly using aphobic wording. So I'm just gonna hold off for now.

And there's another art I drew of. The dream conversation where Ioun and Lyra ended up holding hands for an enTIRE FUCKING HOUR but it wasn't finished and I think? That moment kind of speaks for itself? So I'll just. Leave that there and sleep now gn <3

My gacha journey in HSR so far (inspired by ups and downs)

So. It's my birthday today, and I decide to pull for Kafka. I used up all the free Jade from the Launch to get Seele (after a Bailu fail) and then Skipped Jing Yuan to get SW (who I got in a single 10 pull after I paid because of Welt losing me my 50/50 from free resources). I got Luo Cha in 30 pulls, because the Gacha gods decided to be nice to me. And after that I saved up for Blade... who I lost in 50/50 to Gepard who I already had from the free 5-star gacha at the start of the game. Took 160 pulls to get him(Silver wolf and Luocha saved up resources + some whaling) as a result the only bonuses I have left in Jade shop is the 100$ one. I got around 80 pulls saved up after Blade (70+stardust for Lightcone shop) for Kafka. So I pull... and lose on the 75th roll to Bronya. (happy to finally get Bronya, but at the expense of a Kafka? Kinda sad, and on my birthday no less). So I have 5 pity. I go to the Kafka companion mission and the underground event. Mission is 10/10 and slaps, Underground is 7/10 so far, very fun. Got some jade. and with stardust that's 7 pulls. I think "why don't I round it up to 10 pity, so that the next few weeks the 10-pulls go clearly... And then Kafka shows up on the second pull. Believe in the power of a birthday wish, they sometimes work if you help them along a bit. Skipping Dan Heng IL, saving up for Fu Xuan. Good luck to all those who will still pull for Kafka and to everyone else. I believe in you :).

if it were just viktor and penny with problems, then yes, it's possible, but given that literally everything is going wrong in arcane and everyone has problems, i'd say it's unlikely.

Viktor didn't need to ask how you found him. You knew, of course you knew, you'd been paying attention. Though he was a little curious how long you'd been waiting.

"Don't make this difficult," he said, the hexclaw perking up behind him.

"I wasn't going to," you held one knee to your chest and let the other dangle off the edge of the bridge as you stared out into the sea, "still me, after all."

Not true, but he knew what you meant - you weren't Jayce, you weren't Heimerdinger, you weren't the Council (what was left of them, anyway). You weren't about to try and save him or anyone else from what was going to happen. Not after you'd given him every possible warning. Not after he killed Sky.

Viktor supposed he could relate. He was also done giving people chances. But that meant different things to the both of you.

"The undercity retaliates soon. You should go."

"I am. Who do you think that ship's for?" you jerked your chin towards the docks.

Behemoth-like white sails filled with the wind, but the waters were calm, leaving the man-o-war as gentle as a whale.

"You're leaving Piltover?"

"So are you."

Viktor was going to argue that going to Zaun was different than going to Bilgewater, but it wasn't. Not where it mattered at least. You were both going home.

"Why are you here?"

"I guess I've started to hate loose ends," you shrugged.

You swung your legs back onto the bridge and stood, casually resting your hands in your pockets.

"I hurt you. And I'm sorry," you said.

And suddenly the gap between you two was wider than it had ever been. When had you become the kind of person who would say that so freely? To him of all people? He'd missed that change. He'd missed a lot of things.

"I'm sorry too," he replied. What else was there to say?

You rolled your shoulders, stepping forward and extending your hand.

"I'd offer you luck in your research, but you don't need it," you said as he reluctantly shook your hand.

Your fingers were more sure and steady than they had been in a while. Perhaps you were more certain in goodbyes.

"I will take whatever I can get," he said, still holding onto your hand.

"I know."

Your knuckles relaxed, yet he still could not bring himself to let go. It was cold - you'd been waiting outside after all - but it retained the warmth that he gave it well.

The hexclaw looked down at you, and he realized that he must look slightly threatening like this, but you weren't budging. You weren't afraid. If you had been, then you never would've showed up in the first place.

Viktor put his other hand on your shoulder, and you finally flinched. The glove was off, and it was the faint purple metal of his own creation that he now proudly wore, on your shoulder like an iron clamp. Even though he meant to be gentle.

"Stay safe, Penny."

Protect the person that you'd become. Whoever he'd missed seeing you grow into, everything good that you'd gotten here despite it all, hell, even your flaws - he wanted you to stay in the new person that you'd made your home.

"I will," you gazed up at him, and he had no choice but to believe you. For his own sake, if nothing else, he had to believe that you wouldn't forget about him.

You grabbed his hand from your shoulder and brought it back down, holding both of them in your own and giving them a melancholy squeeze. You wanted to ask him something, but you were holding back.

Finally, you pressed both of his hands back into his chest and let go. Even the metal felt cold.

"Goodbye," you said.

"Goodbye," he replied.

You took off in opposite directions, not looking back, and Viktor truly knew that, even if you were to meet again some day, it wouldn't matter. The ghosts of a future that would never be and the ghosts of the past holding hands on the bridge became one, doomed to spend eternity roaming the graveyard of the present.

I want everyone to remember that if they need to come to California for any health related reasons and need an excuse for why you made the trip, and a place you can take photos, videos etc of to show you came, we have plenty of attractions that aren't theme parks.

I'm talking the beach, Catalina island, whale watching, large aquariums, the White Shark Cafe area for great white shark watching, historic railway stuff including a Harvey House, Route 66 kitsch, deserts, mountains, lakes, giant trees, camping, hiking, "little ____" neighborhoods where immigrant populations have restaurants and people who speak certain languages, the San Andreas fault and numerous others that could surprise you, Santa Cruz (Carla), and lots of places to drive.

Also it's very easy to try out for game shows, you can get free tickets to see talk shows, and sign up for Central Casting to try your luck at being in a show. Just remember that if you go to a taping you aren't allowed to have your phone on, it interferes with the signals the crew need to use, or take pictures because they are militant about no spoilers.

I worked as an extra and seat filler so I can supply you with just enough info to make it sound plausible.

For example- If you want to be on The Price is Right for instance but you get caught in traffic and miss the cut off for getting in, too bad so sad, it's right next to The Farmer's Market and shopping you can wander around, take pictures and videos, tweet and post from there, all the things they don't let you do inside a studio (hint hint).

Another thing that happens is they miscount seats, you end up in a holding area, and watch the show on a monitor. But no one is keeping you there so you can leave at any time and do something else.

One of the places that does a of live audience shows is by the river, which can stink in hot weather, make you nauseous, no show for you.

There's also pesky studio blackouts, air conditioning not working, water pipes bursting, safety inspector said 'that's not good' reasons you couldn't see the show you wanted to see and did something else instead.

Anonymous inquired: Considering how humans can find ways to dehumanize each other. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone would chase after a squishy mermaid. Though good luck for what little reward it brings.

(( To be fair, she’s not squishy in the sense that she wouldn’t be fucking terrifying to anyone who’s not already familiar with her. She has some BIG jaws, with BIG teeth, and BIG claws. I compare merfolk to a combination of crocodiles, hippos, sharks, and whales for pretty good reason! Miri’s tiny and small and fragile, but she’s still a merfolk, and all of those descriptors are comparative to that. Hell, merfolk evolved to hunt and kill whales, the biggest animals to ever live, with their faces and hands.

But also, largely I can’t help but see them as outliers, mainly because... There’s no historical precedent to target merfolk in particular. While merfolk are only prevented from coming up onto land because of the Merkingdom’s laws heavily banning it, with any exceptions only recently made for certain members of the Low Royals with a new ambassador system, it’s strict enough and has existed for long enough that generally mer don’t feel the urge to question it too much. Most of what they consider useful or important is all underwater anyways. Likewise for how difficult and uncomfortable staying on land for extended periods of time is for them, even being impossible for some individuals. Similarly, landfolk have also been pretty heavily barred from entering the Merkingdom, albeit they aren’t aware they’re breaking any laws or even that the Merkingdom exists. People just go missing in the ocean, and it’s usually chalked up to accidents.

They wouldn’t have HAD any prior interactions with humans, or other land monsters, or anyone else outside of the oceans, and mostly, they view themselves as separate from it. Merfolk are likewise new and rare enough on land to where most people aren’t aware of them at all, and neither group has any solid notions or thoughts on the other yet.

This is made further complicated by how all the merfolk who have actually interacted or come up onto land have all been... royalty. Like, actual royalty, with the full set of defenses and guards and hard-to-fuck-with-edness that comes with being royalty. They chat up and talk to others in high society all the time and pretty exclusively default to interacting with them so far. They aren’t even directly doing anything on land, not that anyone can prove, and mostly they seem interested in just playing the same political games as everyone else, trying to win other people’s good favor and figuring out what’s going on. There’s no merfolk on the street, none within the grocery stores, you can’t just go out to an amusement park and find a merfolk there. There’s not even a guarantee they’ll be at any high-brow events, they’re mostly just interacting with the land as they see fit and not much more.

Largely, they’re just too big of a target, too inaccessible, and too new for anyone to really consider them worth it yet, even if they have formed an actual opinion on what merfolk are like ( which is rare!! extremely rare!! to where I think the only people who have might be Miranda’s classmates and campmates who interact with her on a daily basis! most merfolk just don’t stick around that much and don’t do anything other than see to their business ).

That’s not to say there’s not exceptions, and that’s mostly what I’m talking about here when I put that post on my Plot Wishlist. There’s always That Guy, basically.

Genshin Impact Character Reader and Modern Players with Zhongli, Childe & Ganyu (how they simp for you) (event masterlist / Part 1 / Part 3)

Zhongli the F2P

The most relatable out of the bunch because this man is still broke and can only rely on the primogems he can farm. And he had a LOT. The one thing he doesn’t have a lot on, however, is his luck.

So how did he manage to pull you?: Well after exhausting all his primogem on your banner with nothing but weapons and other characters, he has lost his resolve. But by some weird luck, there was a character bug that was fixed and in his email was the almighty consolation primogem. Enough for ONE pull. And by the Gods he FINALLY got you.

He’d nonchalantly post his screenshot of pulling you using a single acquaint fate in his friend group without any words and everyone else just loses their shit. “You got them in one pull?!” “Yeah” A riot.

This was partnered with the fact that not only is Zhongli an F2P player, but also barely has any five star characters.

He looks calm and apathetic over the news, but behind the screen he’s exhausted and relieved, silently livid.

He has no primogems left to squeeze for a constellation so you’re instead pampered with the best weapon suitable for you (because that’s all he keeps getting).

Zhongles spends most of his time farming for materials to quickly level you up, unlocking all your stories and voiceline, but he fucked up on your build (his artifacts are messy).

He follows communities, forums and videos regarding your character to know all the things he needs to perfect your build. You can barely make a dent against normal mobs, so he knew he was doing something VERY wrong.

Is the type of person to keep refreshing the page for new content, very updated.

Ask him a question about your character and he’s gonna bring you the word vomit that is his research. He’s not gonna stop- probably accidentally developed a copypasta for you.

Also follows your VA in both Tiktok and Twitter to indulge in every bit of content. He also has that screenshot of his pull saved and locked.

On his birthday, a friend of his gifted him a chibi plushie of you and he has treasured it ever since, treating and handling it like its a figurine.

“It is merely pure luck and grace from the gacha gods that I got this character, and I will make sure that they know I am very grateful for this fortune.”

Childe The Whaler

This lucky wealthy bastard with no remorse for his money whales for EVERY character. He’s making a collection, which is to get all the characters, especially the five stars. So when your banner finally popped up, he’s gonna square up and trigger a whole ass meteor shower.

How he pulled you: Money. His luck with this games are actually not the best so he always compensates with money, he got you halfway through the first failed pity, almost giving him a heart attack that he might actually break the bank just to get you.

And then he pulls more to raise your constellation lol.

The first thing he does is look over your character info and read through it all; constellation infos, your base stats, artifact compatibility.

At the end when he’s maximized everything, he would then focus on playing around with your character *coughs climbing noises coughs*

He thought you’d just be another part of his collection but playing with your character was very enjoyable and in-line with his playstyle- oops 100 screenshots with the Kamera-

Any and all merchandise that he fancies would be his, and he’s definitely flexing it to the other sweetie nerds who call themselves simps. He’s fighting for the simping title, and he’s currently neck and neck with this fanartist in Pixiv.

Speaking of that fanartist, he definitely commissioned an expensive and detailed portrait of you, full rights and everything. No one else was allowed to use it but him.

Was also the first one with the audacity to call out your VA to create an account on Tiktok to create more content with your voice. He was successful.

His obssession also comes in the form of self-indulgent contents, and had been keeping track of the ship wars happening. During conventions, he cosplays as the character shipped with you the most (or the character he thinks should end up with you).

Silently scrutinizing those who cosplay you, only ever taking pictures with/of the best looking one, sorry haha

Definitely flaunts that you are his waifu/husbando and will fight for best girl/best boy during debates or polls. Has mobilized the community to vote for you once. He’s very persuasive.

“Hm? Why I’m just the best collector in the game, and I am more than happy to let everyone know that I am their number one fan haha, everyone who claims otherwise is definitely wrong!”

Ganyu the Employed

Ganyu, our dearest overworker, is one of the players in the older stage who actually has a job but still plays Genshin for their past times. The gorgeous sceneries and the music is her main focus in playing the game, not much of a try-hard but still decent in the combat mechanics.

How she pulled you: You came home within 50 pulls! And you appeared again after another 10 pull! Ganyu was so SHOOKT and so distressed because oh goodness, what does she do? She doesn’t know anything much about you!

Will rewatch your three trailers to try and understand your skills better, ended up saving the soundtracks from them because that was such a nice trailer music! Tnbee gains a new follower!

Ganyu will take a while before she can properly play or build you up because she’s so busy with work, she only ever plays when she feels fully done with her work.

During her break she plays with your character while multi-tasking on eating, earphones plugged in and sight on the phone as she farms materials and artifacts for you.

The moment she gets more help from her player friends tho, holy shit, you just ended up being so OP. She had so many good artifacts and weapons for you because she didn’t know what they were for before.

She loves how you’re so easy to use and can easily solo the enemies and even the boss fights. A huge breather, because now Ganyu can cheese the battles that takes a while, to give her more time to focus on the storyline and lores.

Since Ganyu plays for the story and aesthetic, she’ll find you almost always in her team. Still very proud of her pull, she makes the best screenshots of your fights or in the best angle through exploration.

Treasures you so much she starts talking to her phone- “Ah, no, please don’t fall.” “There’s violetgrass up there, let’s try and get it”

Blushes everytime you produce a sound when climbing, doesn’t change you anyways tho

Hums to your trailer music while working, and if permitted, would have the song on repeat while she buries herself in work. She finds it really refreshing and the time she spends in work miraculously flies by fast when she gets lost in the sound.

At one point, when she was given a day-off or if the convention was on her free time, she attends to look for cosplayers of you and take a picture. No one rejects her because she’s so adorable and cute when asking shyly.

Had brought a decent amount of merchandise, preferably the functional/practical ones like a phone cover, mug or keychain. Also has an earphones clamp with your little chibi self as the holder.

When asked, she would shyly announce that she likes your character the most.

“Their character theme and music really soothes me during work, it feels nice to have them, and I have not once regretted ever pulling for them. They are the best.”

tbh gachas and the balance between whales and non-whales is fascinating to me. I’ve been a little reading on it lately

you want whales to spend money, but in order for them to do that, there needs to be a benefit. aka, spending money makes them powerful.

However: a whale isn’t going to feel powerful against another whale. Whats the point of shelling out cash if they just as strong as the next guy? You need f2p players, minnow, and dolphins too. You need A LOT of them so that whales mostly encounter those folk and not just other whales all the time.

You need to make a healthy ecosystem in your game for your whales.

That starts with your f2p players. The f2p players need to be happy. because if they leave, so do the minnows, so do the dolphins, and so do the whales.

so f2p need to be able to do well too. f2p will never be good as a whale unless they have the most insane luck in the world, but they can save their magia stones and roll on what they like/what is good, and they can perform well.

if we use magireco as an example, this game is very f2p friendly. you can use whatever character you want to beat the base content-- ex-challenges and such will be hard if you don’t prioritize your savings, but everything is accessible to you. My main alt account can do anything it wants at this point and I’ve never spent any money on it. So that means f2p should be happy in this game, and so there is a draw for them.

Next up you have your minnows, who are people who might buy the monthly pack deal and that’s it. honestly the difference between a minnow and a f2p is kind of minor in the grand scheme of things, but it’s still important because they are food for the dolphins. A minnow is probably going to have better units than a f2p, maybe more slots, just by virute of spending money.

A dolphin might buy the occasional deals. They might throw money at a banner, but they’re not a true whale. the monetary amount of what defines a dolphin depends on where you are tbh-- for example, on na I’d say a dolphin spends maybe 20 a month on the game. on jp it’d be higher than that.

man I’m not gonna go step by step actually-- the point is, dolphins are the feast for the whales. Whales want to be powerful, but power is boring if everyone is an ant. You need players who are good but not as good as you so that you can have a true power fantasy.

i have been awake for 25 hours. why am i talking???? I’m gonna wake up eventually and this will all be incomprehenshible or even worse, compeltely wrong and i will be screenshotted and ratio’d.

anyways, gacha money stuff depends on a delicate ecosystem. one way you can tell a game is failing is if either the f2p all leave or the whales start to leave.

f2p can’t be made to feel like they don’t matter, which is also why back-to-back limited banners are a problem (and constant newly released overpowered units). a unit from a year ago should still be good now, because that’s what a f2p is going to be working with. if old units are constantly powercrept, then f2p stuffer and aren’t going to play anymore.

but whales need a reason to buy things without it just being new stuff. so how to make new units good without making them total powercreep nonsense is hard.

magireco is doing a good job imo with it right now. I mentioned it two posts ago, but a lot of the new limiteds are based around kimochi/high tier content while being “eh” for anything else.

Isabeau is the fucking GOAT, need-to-have unit for kimochi, but she’s worse than vampire kanagi for everything else. that’s good. whales will want her to do well, but f2p don’t NEED her. (edit: also oriko exists and fills a similar niche)

kuroe is the best mp battery for dark units ever, but she suffers on non-dark-focused-teams. that means madoka and mikage have an edge on her for other content. that’s good. f2p don’t suffer if they only have madoka or mikage. (edit: also kako exists and can fill a similar-ish niche)

if akumura-chan is really going to be a ranked beast, it’ll still be okay, probably in the grand scheme of things. lots of units are still good for ranked that can be relied on, and even if she’s at the top, her average gameplay outside of ranked will suck so f2p don’t NEED her.

Stan x anxious/compassionate reader (kind of has a little canon divergence)

After giving up on Wendy (around Season 12), Stan and us start dating, we were always worried about him (no we weren't dating him out of pity, we were just a very anxious person). Some people find of clingy, others find us adorable but We've never left his side:

Ex: We were by his side helping with whales (Whale W)

We were the only one who didn't leave him when he got depression (You're Getting Old/Ass Burgers)

Next to Heidi, we became social pariah because we didn't want to dump Stan (this even made Wendy guilty)

But him moving, really gets to us, the coronavirus makes it worse. We get worried about him, then we start getting worried about everyone else as everything falls apart (Kyle, Kenny, Eric, Butters, Tweek, Craig, Scott, etc.) And we pass out of stress. About waking up in the hospital, we find out, everyone was worried about us. And Stan is the most worried of all, he spends the whole day with us. We tal-no vent about all the happened to the both of us. By the end of it, we agree that whatever happens we'll do it together.

Stan x anxious!compassionate!Reader

Tiny eyes watched the scene unfold.

Normally, Wendy was the one to break up with Stan, but not this time around. Stan was actually telling Wendy that he had no interest in her anymore.

“What changed Stan?” Wendy asked, obviously confused.

“I think I like someone else… I don’t know yet…”

Wendy gave him a smile.

“I wish you all the luck Stan, say if you need anything!”

“I will.” And with that, Wendy took off to be with her friends, while Stan turned a corner and told Kyle and Kenny how it went.

Cartman was there too, but he only wanted to know if she cried, because “she would deserve it.”.

You closed your locker and felt your heartbeat like crazy. Ever since you changed school a few months ago, Stan captured your little ten-year-old mind.

He was kind and showed you around when you had no idea where to go. It was a little crush you developed, and you never felt as scared and excited as now, since that Stan had broken off with Wendy.

This newfound feeling almost made you dizzy but you quickly snapped back into reality when you heard your name.

“Y/N?” Stan asked and waited patiently for his answer next to you.

“Oh, sorry, I was thinking, what did you want?”

“Would you maybe like to hang out some time?”

Stan almost got a heart attack when you suddenly squealed but was happy when you managed to get a high-pitched “YES!” out.

“Okay, what are you betting Kenny? Some Pennies or a dead rat?” Cartman almost fell from his chair laughing about his shitty joke, while Kyle and Kenny rolled their eyes.

“Don’t you think it’s weird how clingy they are?” Kyle asked his blonde friend, while they kept watching you and Stan, who were seated at a separate table at lunch.

“Honestly, I think it’s pretty cute.” Kenny said with his muffled voice.

You held his arm and hugged him from the side, while he happy kept on eating his lunch.

Eric, who had now calmed down from his laugh attack eyed the couple critically. “I’m giving them a month max.”

He said lazily and looked around. “I say longer than a year.” Kenny said, throwing a crinkled five-dollar note on the table.

“You two are horrible.” Kyle shook his head before he threw 10 dollars on the table.

“Four months.”

Kenny was a happy man after a year, because despite everyone believing you two would eventually break up, you never did.

You were always by his side, no matter what.

His desire to desperately save whales with the help of a braindead ship crew?

You were always right by his in the interviews he gave.

His horrible depression that even drove Kyle away? No chance, you stood strong and helped him through the whole thing and even help reuniting the gang.

Even during the protest against Skanthunt42, you chose to sit this one out, despite you absolutely hating that the troll photoshopped a dick into your mother’s mouth.

At least you and Heidi got close due to you guys both becoming social outcasts. When Wendy heard this, she was impressed by your dedication and felt somewhat guilty for obviously not trying as much in her former relationship.

Everyone admired your patience and endurance. No matter what obstacle came, you managed to get through it.

“You don’t need to be sad, Y/N. I won't be that far away.” Stan said, holding your hand.

“B-But it's outside of town. You need ages by bike to get there and vice versa.” You said, holding back tears.

Randy walked past you and you desperately pleaded to him.

“Please Mister Marsh, please stay in town!” Randy put the box he carried into the car, before turning to you.

“Real sorry, dear Y/N. This town is…How do I put it… Absolute shit and I really want to get away.”

He patted you on the head and went back into the house to get more boxes.

“Told you, you cant talk to him.” Stan said and shrugged.

“But it’s unfair. We won’t see each other as much anymore.” Stan pressed a kiss onto your cheek, which made you blush intensely.

“Don’t. Worry. I will make time for you.”

With that in mind, you didn’t feel as sad, when the car with the Marsh Family in it left for their new home.

“I will make time for you, my ass.” You mumbled while you sat at a bench near Starks Pond. Letting out a deep sigh, you leaned back and just enjoyed the warmth of the setting sun.

Covid was one hell of a bitch and just had to have this big impact on everyone’s life. Stan and you now saw each other less and less.

It was just a horrible feeling that tainted your heart and made you worry a lot.

Maybe he was feeling just as bad as you are, maybe even more?

Maybe he just didn’t want to tell you how he felt?

Were you maybe a bad partner? Your mind began racing and your train of thoughts became unrailed.

So many bad thoughts manifested themselves and it made you almost gasp for air.

“I need to check on him.” You mumbled getting up from the park bench.

You began walking and you kind of hoped that maybe just the walking would get your mind in check, but sadly it didn’t. Involuntarily you had to think about all the other stuff that happened during this horrible time.

The precious Broship was more fragile than ever. You had become such good friends with Kenny, Kyle and Cartman over time that it hurt you a lot too.

You also saw Covid take a toll on your other friends, like Craig and his group, who now took Cartman into their gang after the split up.

However, that came to be…

The girls were also pretty divided, so hanging out with them meant picking sides which wasn’t your thing, you kinda just want them to get along again.

Everything felt like it was falling apart. Your parents had fights ever so often, all your friends had problems and your beloved boyfriend was stuck on that stupid farm.

God how you hated that stupid farm and Randy.

When he gave you one of those plushies that looked like him, you functioned it into a voodoo doll. But sadly, it didn’t seem to affect him, no matter how many needles you rammed into it.

Your heart felt heavy, and it seemed hard to breathe, but you brushed it aside.

You had already reached the busy streets of South Park and mingled between the newly vaccinated people.

Everywhere you looked, the people seemed happy.

Everyone was happy except you and the people around you… Maybe…You were the problem?

You shook your head. No, you didn’t allow those kinds of thoughts.

You much rather think about Stan. How you miss him and how amazing your dates were.

Oh, how much effort he put into all the small things… Well… At least he did.

Now that you thought about it when was your last date?

It feels like it had been ages. It has been ages. Everything had been ages. Going out with him, hanging out with your friends, your family not fighting… How long has this been the new normal? You can’t help but wonder.

Your heart clenched again. “Stop it, stupid heart.” You mumbled under your breath.

An exhausted sigh escaped your lips when you thought about how you maybe had to walk all the way up to the farm… It would take ages, but you really craved being held by the person you adored so much.

So, you continued walking down through the street when an elder lady stopped you.

“Excuse me, but you look rather sickly, are you alright?” Confused you raised an eyebrow. Did the vaccines make them delusional?

“No, I’m fine.” You answered, somewhat snippy, even when you didn’t know why you were so agitated.

“But you look rather pale, maybe you- I am fine.” You interrupted her and continued your path.

Were all people in this shitty town stupid or- The thought could not be completed, due to you suddenly losing consciousness.

When you woke up again, you immediately recognized one of the Hells Pass Hospital rooms, once your eyes had adjusted to the bright lights. Around the bed were your parents and more importantly Stan and his mother.

“Thank God, you’re awake again!” Your mother said when she went for a hug.

Confused you asked why you were here.

“Well, seemingly you were so stressed out, that your body basically shut down.”

Somewhat shocked you looked around. Was it really a surprise to hear that? Not really, but it still felt odd knowing that it happened.

“Well, I’m glad you’re fine, Y/N.” Misses Marsh commented and smiled warmly at you. She had always liked you and you felt the same. She was always nice to you and you felt like she was the only one with a brain in the family…

Feeling a sudden sensation of warmness on your hand, your eyes darted down to it. Stan held you hand while answering something your dad had asked him.

“Well, Sharon, you wanna accompany us to get some hot chocolate for us all?”

Your mother said with an odd wink, which made you and Stan roll your eyes.

The three adults left the room chatting happily. Stan looked at you with a stern expression, which kind of surprised you.

“I swear, whenever I think I couldn’t get more worried about you, your parents call me, to tell me that you’re in the hospital.”

“Worried? About me? I should be worried about you?” You laughed to which Stan shook his head.

“Listen, everyone has been super worried about you since you seemed so down and just exhausted. Like, Kyle already called me earlier to ask if you’re awake again. I don’t know why you worry about me; I am really fine babe. Promise.”

With that said, the door opened, and your parents came back inside.

“Y/N, the doctor said they would like you to stay the night, so they can check that you’re really alright.” Your father informed you and you were immediately annoyed.

Well, you had no choice but to oblige. Your parents left after an hour, wanting to get you some clothes and other things you’d need.

Sharon also bids her goodbye and so you and Stan were left.

And just like you wished, you got to cuddle with him. He held you close, and you vented to him, how worried you were about everything and everyone, while he told you just how worried all of your friends had been since you were acting so out of character.

“Even Cartman?”

“Yup, even when he would never admit it.” Stan laughed. He held your hand tight, and his content smile never left his face.

“I think we should talk more about feelings and being worried and all that. I know I’m not all that good at it, but I don’t ever wanna have to visit you in a hospital again.” Stan said, giving your hand a squeeze.

“That sounds good. But you gotta accept, I worry a lot, because I care a lot about you, okay?” You said sternly and Stan nodded. You two looked fondly at each other and just enjoyed the time you got.

“Together forever?” You asked and he whispered “Forever.”, before he pressed a sweet kiss onto your lips.
