17. If you have friends with parts too, are you close on a part-by-part basis or more general whole people? Would you prefer it to be one way or the other?

It depends on the other person's comfort level for me, so I like doing kind of an in-between thing where we can go as-a-whole friends and narrow it down from there if it's both agreed on and okay! (secretly I really love having parts be friends with parts because it just feels very special and my parts are lonely and resonate a lot w friends parts too!)

Like I love being as-a-whole friends with chime and sometimes our phonecalls feel like we're two normal people who have known eachother for ages :> and then we also have some pretty deep intimacy between parts, and whoever's out on either side can tend to spark a pretty good connection with one another. I get worried a lot about making sure they're 'matched well' (making sure there's an older/caretaker part out for their smalls for example) but it turns out whoever's around likes eachother just as much(like cinna + reki interacting a bit last night) and if there's needed extra regulation then we're independent enough to lean on our own parts.

I'm pretty close to Fable like this too <3 We more often talk as whole people but Cinna and the Beans really like hanging out together, both of our Hideys are (shy) friends, and the Rowans and the Bunnies get along really well :> (I hope its okay I mention all this, @paradoxesofgalaxies!! )

There are a few symbolic things and I can't tell if it means anything or if it's just kind-of a way of organizing parts orrrr whattt exactlyyy

We have 🌷flowers🌹 from the Flower Subsystem (Really they should just be called the Roses, but Belle says we keep it the flowers 'in case the flowers we havent found yet arent roses and still feel welcome'. )

We have the 🎨colors🖌 (the Pink, Red, Yellow, Green and Blue parts) like paints on a paint palette

The Council is made up of the ❄🌷four seasons🌻🍂, which is based on a handful of different medias and just Makes Sense idk

There might be more but idk! There's some heavy symbolism about princesses and fairytales too, but I don't have a solid grasp on that

i really liked it! cannot tell you how hard i CACKLED when reigen just walked in NOT EVEN TRYING TO BE SNEAKY and everyone was like omg he's nice he's wearing a suit he Has to be the boss and that was just SO FUNNY I WAS WHEEZING

and also the way that reigen was SO against mob fighting bECAUSE HE'S A KID I JUST🥺 and let me tell you. i LOST IT when reigen kept telling him that it's okay to run away and that mob's version of running away was giving his power to reigen for a bit

miya grumbled as he sneaked quick glances at you from across him. you were both at school eating lunch underneath a tree for shade, like you always do, and for some reason, he was acting strange and awfully fidgety ever since the morning you went up to greet him.

"alright, what is it, miya?" you asked with a sigh "h-huh?" miya jumped as he nervously sipped on his drink, avoiding eye contact as his fingers fiddled with his switch.

"you're acting so weird" you said as you throw a candy wrapper at him "you've been looking at me strangely all day" you said as you narrowed your eyes at him

miya gulped and shook his head "no way!" he denied "you're getting too confident, you slime!" he said as he stuck his tongue out playfully

you rolled your eyes and laughed at his antics, throwing another piece of wrapper at him as you tuck a strand of hair behind your ear. "whatever" you said

miya shook his head and placed your hands over his chest, holding them tenderly as he stares up at you with his eyes glimmering with admiration.

miya's eyes widened as his smile turned into a wide grin. "really?" he asked with excitement

"yeah i guess" you muttered bashfully as you try to avoid his entrancing emerald hued eyes.

"that's great! let's get married." miya said as he took your hand and pulled you along as he ran towards the infamous cherry blossom tree in your school.

"miya, slow down!" you whined as he practically dragged you along while you struggled to keep up with him since he was basically sprinting.

"hurry up, you slime!" miya exclaimed with a laugh as he slows down to match your pace

"geez. you know we can get married at like 20 or 25 instead, right?" you said as you let out a breath of air

you were both underneath the cherry blossom tree. the beautiful pink blossoms fall and sway around due to the wind as the both of you lay on the grassy ground.

"we don't even have rings" you laughed as you turned to look at him. "don't worry i already have those" miya said with a cat-like grin

you watched in amusement as he dug into his pocket and pulled out two rings made of paper with small cat and video game stickers and both of your names written on the inside.

"oh gosh you actually have them" you sweat drop "ofcourse! i made these this morning and put a lot of effort so you better accept it" miya playfully scowled

you both sat up as he held out his palm, urging you to place your hand on top of it.

"my vows would be.. uh i'll love you forever and let you play my games. and i won't ever leave you and call you a slime ever again" miya muttered as he slid the ring into your finger, blushing madly as he does so.

"wow, nice vows. very heartfelt." you say sarcastically with a laugh, causing him to grumble and gently hit you with his fist.

"just say your vows, you slime!"

"you just said you wouldn't call me a slime anymore!"

"that only applies after! we're still not together since you still haven't told me your vows, slime!"

you sigh as a fond smile grazed your lips. you stare at miya through your lashes, chuckling to yourself as you see him waiting expectantly with a concerning amount of blush on his cheeks.

"my vows would be.." you muttered "that i would never leave you and i'll be with you and support you in whatever you wanna do." you said

"and-"

"that's enough" miya cut you off by waving his hand at your face, while covering his with the other. "u-um.. im fine with just that, you don't have to say anything else.." he said

you blink in confusion but agree anyways. "okay then" you smiled

miya gulped as he shakily lends you his hand, watching in astonishment as you slid the ring onto his finger.

"there, we're now officially together forever" you said with a laugh as you intertwined your hands together

"yeah." miya mumbled as his lips slowly curled into a loving smile

you gave him a smug grin as you point to your lips "this is the part where you kiss me-"

miya didn't let you finish as he suddenly tackled you into a hug and pressed a soft kiss onto your lips before moving along and pressing his lips onto both of your cheeks and nose.

"thanks for marrying me" miya muttered against your neck as he buries his face against your skin

"anytime" you chuckled. you wrapped your arms around him, causing him to sigh in satisfaction and relax against your body.

"mhhm, love you y/n" he mumbled

"i love you too miya"

"man, you'll never understand since you're too young" reki said with a smug grin as he patted miya's head to emphasise his point

"love is just too complex for kiddos like you" reki teased

miya simply grumbled and glared up at the redhead, causing reki to laugh even more. "oh yeah?" miya taunted

reki let out a pained smile as he sulked over miya's harsh words. "ahahaha, those are some big words for a little kid like you" reki squeaked out with a chuckle

"tch.." miya gritted his teeth as he glared up at reki "you have no room to talk when your ethe one who doesn't have a s/o, you slime!" he exclaimed

↘ Okay, I hope you don’t find it bad, but I think Reki can have ADHD as well. If what I’m saying is a canon, then I think you would definitely get along and be a strong as hell supporters to each other; both as friends and as a couple. No card game, a quarrel with your parents, a desire to eat sushi or the release of music by your favorite band will be indifferent to the other.

↘ If you feel immense happiness as well as a burst of energy, Reki also feels it and asking a million questions about a thing that has happened to you. He’s a really supportive kid who loves body contact with you and will definitely give you a few kisses or a long hug full of sincerity and warmth during joyful moments.

↘ However, if your mood drops unexpectedly and you feel discouraged, sad or a general mental/physical fatigue, he will also control his emotions very quickly and will show you a lot of assistance in such a moment. He’ll ask if you’re alright, suggest some entertainment, or just sit next to you, grabbing your hand and smiling at your person. Of course, you will react the same to his humor.

↘ So you could say that you’re soulmates who think and feel the same thing; you will go through everything together, so don’t worry about anything. Reki will be there for you, regardless of your mood and the time of day, and you also will be next to him when your partner becomes depressed or overly excited about a new skateboard or paycheck.

↘ He may seem phlegmatic, but when you tell him about your disorder, he understands the seriousness of the situation very quickly and grabs your hands or cheeks to promise you that he will never underestimate it and will be with you whenever you need to (and even when such a need doesn’t arise; he’s an angel).

↘ If you two are going to school together, he will definitely keep an eye on your notes and will remind you of all exams or homework. If you work together, he will always calmly explain every little thing to you, even the smallest one, so that you don’t feel inferior to other employees. In general, Langa will help you organize your day, weekend, vacation and general routine, such as buying a monthly public transport ticket or making your own breakfast in the morning before you leave the house.

↘ He will certainly ask his best friend for help more than once, but usually he will seek advice from an adult like his beloved mother or some trusted teacher at school. Blue haired just want to understand you as best as he can, it’s really wonderful and admiring.

↘ Do you know the ‘trick’ with a ribbon on the little finger, which is to remind a person not to forget about an important thing? So don’t worry about anything, Kaoru will be happy to do it all and explain the most important things along the way. He just cares about you very much and wants the best for you.

↘ I also see him as a person who has delved so deeply into the topic of the ADHD spectrum that he has joined several groups/servers to better understand your behavior and mood changes. You find it amazing and you really feel a lot of support from your lovely boyfriend, whether he rewrites your notes or reminds you to visit the dentist.

↘ He seems like an eternal kid, but he definitely won’t be a kid at the moment when you need help or talk; both in the good time, with positive energy and the less pleasant, when you feel insufficient or tired with work, study, cleaning, cooking and other duties...

↘ Kojirou will definitely heal your problems with the things that he does best; for example – will make you delicious food or dessert, will send you stupid memes he found on the Internet, will tell you a joke and he will write some messages to you full of emoticons and his goofy selfies/videos.

↘ He doesn’t fully understand ADHD (I think he understands about 75% of that), but he tries his best to understand it fully, so if necessary tell him what he’s doing wrong or what he should pay attention to! He won’t be offended – quite the opposite. He’ll be very grateful that; just as he helps you, you help him to understand the whole mechanism.

In defense of Sk8 the Infinity and queer coding.

I believe that summing up Sk8 the Infinity as “just queer bait” ends up lacking nuance and fundamentally does not understand the show and queerness. Queerness is not defined by a kiss.

Skateboarding in this show is a metaphor for love. It is intrinsic to the show’s message. (Most of) The character’s skating styles reflect their love languages and how they navigate love in general. Cherry Blossom went from impulsive and adventurous to cold and calculating because of trauma revolving love. Adam’s skating is abusive and brutal because it is the only form of love he has ever really internalized. Joe’s line here further proves this idea that skating is representative of love.

Beyond symbolism, Langa ran into Reki’s arms without any concern or knowledge as to whether or not he won.

Langa refers to Reki as his happiness.

Langa confessed his feelings for Reki to his mom in a romantic context.

Langa is blatantly queer there is literally no way around that. And he isn’t Shiro from voltron queer where the creators dropped the bomb on us outside of the show just to give him a two minute boyfriend who instantly dies. The show centers in on his feelings for Reki and weaves them through every aspect of the show.

Queerness isn’t only visible in kissing. Queerness isn’t just coming out. That is what queerness is to the straight gaze but in reality queerness can be subtle. Queerness can be gentle gazes. Queerness can be having your happy intrinsically and irrevocably connected to your best friend of the same gender. Not every queer story has to revolve around these grand gestures of romance and can instead focus on the subtleties of developing feelings for another. You have to go through a lot of mental gymnastics to conclude that this show isn’t queer. I understand that there is comfort in undeniable queerness in the form of a kiss or asking the other out but queer coding has just as much of a place in story telling and is just as valid. Queerness does not define itself in a kiss.

I’ve already posted something like this on one of my twitter accounts but I wanted to post it here as well. I would love to hear your thoughts on this and have a discussion on the nature of queer coding vs queer baiting and where in that spectrum Sk8 the Infinity lies. Currently though, this is my stance on the matter. There are other points to be made such as the fact that it’s public knowledge that Sk8 was having production issues so we have no clue if there was an initial plan for a kiss and such. But yea just by analyzing the text on its own outside of the knowledge of its real world creation, this screams queer coding a lot more than queer bait. Especially since it’s undeniable that Langa has romantic feelings for Reki.

(Edit: I am a bi non binary person. I believe I do have a right to speak about this. I also would like to point out that we also have to keep in mind that progress in lgbt spaces in Japan is different than progress in lgbt spaces in the U. S and going into this conversation with a U.S-centric perspective on the matter won’t allow you to fully grasp the situation. I am not Japanese of course but I do try to keep in mind the political state of lgbt people in Japan when talking about Japanese media and I believe you should too. I think it allows for a better understanding of why things turned out the way they are.)

"You okay, kitty cat? You're a little quiet tonight." Reki says. His was attention on his personal board laying on the crafting table in front of him while he tweaked a few things that would improve the board's functionality. His hands so veiny, slender, and pretty under the lamplight as he worked. You sat beside him in your own little world, chewing gently at your thumb trying to muster up the courage to just ask him one simple question, but you didn't know how to do it.

It wasn't any secret that Reki was talented. Not only is he an amazing skater but an artist. You've seen him craft so many boards by hand with unique and intricate designs. Not only did they look aesthetically pleasing, but they were practical and held up to a standard that takes years for a person to master. His creativity not only benefits the artistic side of things but it's simply innovative. The best example of this being Langa's skateboard.

Not only that, but Reki is an excellent teacher. He always so patient with you through all your mess-ups and countless falls to the ground. He did all this while never losing his enthusiasm and warmth towards teaching you the best he can, not only as a teacher but as a best friend and a boyfriend. Every time you fell, he was always there to pick you up with a big smile, a kiss on the forehead, and a couple of smiley face bandaids if you needed them.

The thing is, he was using his board to teach you. Not that he minded, he was actually more than happy to share his board with you. It was intimate in its way. Only skaters would know how it feels to have a bond with someone so strong that you're willing to let them ride and learn on your board. It has a similar vibe to when ravers share and trade their Kandi. Reki has teased you about it before, but the only reason why you haven't purchased your board yet is that you wanted him to be the hands and mind behind your very first skateboard.

"(Name)~" He called your name in a singsong manner and pulled you out of your thoughts.

"Huh?"

"Welcome back, space ranger." He chuckled and looked at you over his shoulder. "You okay?"

"Oh yeah, I'm fine!" You smiled. Fine? Reki was no mind reader but he knew something was up.

"I know when you're lying~" He turns to you in his stool and pinches your nose gently. He thinks your reaction is cute, seeing you scrunch your nose up like a baby bunny.

"What's up?" He tilts his head and offers you a smile.

You start to feel shy under his gaze and your cheeks begin to feel particularly warm the longer he looks at you. You take a sudden interest in your fingers twiddling them mindlessly as you tried to find the right words. Why were you nervous? He was your boyfriend after all! The worst thing he could say was no, fuck but even then you'd absolutely die of embarrassment. You need to get it together, come on.

“Um..." You trail off causing him to let out a happy giggle. He wasn't sure why you were acting so shy all of a sudden but he thought it was endearing.

“So shy, for what?” He lifts your chin with a gentle hand getting you to look at him, then he winks.

“Stop teasing me, I have something important to tell you..” You whined and shooed away his hand with a pout on your face.

“Okay, then tell me what's on your mind." He straightens his posture and reaches over to hold your hands in your lap.

“Well, you've been taught me a lot with skating, and I only know what I do because of you," You started. He's listening closely and giving you all his undivided attention. “The reason I haven't brought my board is that, well, it would be more special to me if you made it.." You trail off once more looking down at where your hands are connected.

Reki's eyes widen at your words. You want him to make you a skateboard? He needs confirmation, so he lifts your head once more.

"Wait, really? You mean that?" His voice is soft to matching the way his expression melts from shock to the rawest form of love. He's really just looking at you with the softest case of puppy dog eyes.

"Reki, you're so talented. It would mean the world to me if you did." You were being sincere and he could tell.

Reki is so touched, his heart is literally swelling and pounding in his chest. There's an intense wave of euphoria, love, and warmth that wash over his body. He's really over the moon right now.

"But only if you w-!" He cuts you off.

"Of course I want to!" He smiles at you brightly taking both of his hands to ruffle your hair wildly. You're about to say something about him messing up your hair but he gives your lips a sloppy peck before shoots up from his stool in excitement.

"We can start tonight! You're gonna be so proud of me, babe! It should be on pimp my ride!" You look up at your enthusiastic boyfriend with a smile.

"I'm so happy you're excited but let's start tomorrow, yeah?" You say and tug at his hoodie. He deflates and blows a raspberry.

"No fun." He sits back down in your hands cup the sides of his cheeks. You're giggling but you're about to scold him.

"Hey, mister! You need a break! You've been working for hours and I need to leave before it gets too late. It's already 11." You said glancing over at the digital clock he had sitting on a toolbox.

"Aw, what! You're not sleeping over?" He gives you a goofily exasperated look. Silently saying, 'you want to start your board tomorrow and you're not cuddling with me tonight?' He was beyond cute.

"Reki, baby, I've slept over the past two nights. I gotta go back to my own bed." You giggle and he playfully folds his arms.

"We shared boards, we can share beds too." He pouts cutely and looks away.

"You're a dork." You smile ans lean in to kiss his lips.

"Ah, seriously (Name)! Sleep over! Please~"

-but, for bigger holidays like Christmas or your birthday, he’ll genuinely put effort and time into a gift

you looked out the back window and see several pairs or small groups of people in their best dress headed inside and shoot langa a smile. "you ready, pretty boy?"

he blushed, smiling back at you. "yeah, let's head in."

before you had the chance to turn around to open the passenger side door, though, he squeezed your hand and squeaked out a quick "wait!". turning back in confusion, you raise an eyebrow at him. he leans in and presses a quick kiss to your lips, leaving him redder than before. after several months of dating, you would have thought he wouldn't be as embarrassed about these things anymore, but you also found it endearing that he was.

Talking about ep.10 before it’s out

Alright, ep. 10 is out in two days and i’m loosing my mind. The official account have posted some frames (I don’t really know how they are called sorry for that!) and I just wanted to make a little analysis

So, here we have our favourite witty boy!! I’ve gone mad seeing again all the episodes to make sure this wasn’t a clip already posted, but I’m confident enough to say this is definitly ep. 10! On my personal opinion, I think that because of the blurry background he is in the middle of a beef, probably the one with Snake (if I’m not wrong, as Shadow, Harry [btw who on earth is this man??], Snow, Joe, Cherry and Adam have already compete, these two are the only ones left) What’s clear is that Miya looks terrified, I can’t say if it is because some weird movement from Snake or beacuse of... Adam (from his reaction after he saw Snake in “S” I can’t help feeling that these two are having a beef at any moment, so maybe Adam gets so angry that he jumps into Miya and Snake’s beef and I dunno, does something dangerous).

Keeping on, we have some images from young Adam and Tadashi that were shown in ep.8. I guess that, as many of you have already pointed out, we are gonna see more about their relationship. 

Now is when things start to go highly hypothetical (as if thy weren’t yet...), because the next image is: SUNSHINE BOY!

Now, from my perspective, I can tell he is looking down. this may be an stupid observation, but I really feel that someone as bubbly as Reki would be always looking up, not down. However, as so many people have realised, he has his bandana back which make us all super happy! I really hope that this means  that he and Langa make up in this ep. Like... this is one of the last scenes, where Reki goes out to meet Langa as usual... Anyways, I don’t want to get exited about something that may no happen :)

A few people have also mentioned that this is an old frame from ep.7, but, and I have tried to watch it meticulousl,  it is never shown. There is this frame that looks similiar though. It appears seconds before reki’s mum calls him to get his bentou. 

Also, maybe it is me but I feel that the colours are poorer, like, darker. Maybe is the effect of the sky, maybe is the fact that the door is open and the sunlight causes more shadows, maybe is and indicator that Reki is still off or maybe it’s just me overanalysing a clip :) [however if you compare both images, Reki’s hair is darker and so is the bright green of the backpack]

Now! One of the most intriguing images I’ve ever seen it’s the next one, which runs free in my mind the hole time. 

I’m gona say it. What the actual f*ck. 

I don’t understand. That is definitely Reki’s arm. But WHERE IS HE?!? WHERE?!! Ar first I thoght that the wine-coloured background (okay I have no idea what colour it is, I would say is wine but honestly I dont’ know if there is a more specific name) could be at “S” in a moment that is illuminated with colourful light but I see quite unlikely that Reki would come back to S just an episode after he quitted and in his school uniform. The fact that he is wearing the uniform seems important to me. I have revised the backgrounds and no one has that super smoothy background, you can’t tell the texture, is that a floor? a wall?. However, I think that it’s at night (all the colours have a cold subtone) and there is some weird light up in the left corner. I think it comes from somewhere in the back and it’s higher than Reki. 

I can’t come up with anything solid enough to justify why Reki is in an unkonown place at night and with his uniform (u can tell it bothers me a lot). I have a few options in mind but they are pretty... let’s say poor: 

1) Dope Sketch

Dope Skecht has vibrant colours and maybe with the right light and the right time the walls can get... emm closer to a wine colour? The workshop doesn’t look like an option neither, but both places have more or less smooth walls, hehehe

I don’t know, Langa could go to Dope Sketch, find Reki there and well, have a talk? But I don’t see the wine colour anywhere

2) Skateparks 

Even though the floor is a bright orange, in the clip they posted as a premise of ep. 10 seems to me a bit darker (or maybe it’s just me that wants to see stuff where there is none) Also, there is this big spotlight that could explain the light in the left of the picture (?) and we can’t forget that IT appears in the premise so it MIGHT be related to this (or at all).  There is a different skate park (the one where Langa is) which walls also look pretty smooth, but they are concrete and I wouldn’t use a warm colour as wine to create shadow in that material. 

3) Hospital 

Okay, this is one is pure fantasy because the walls clearly have a greeenish/blueish subtone, but maybe a hospital room has another colours??? I don’t know, the more I look the first picture, the more cofused I get. It looks so smoothy that I hardly believe it could be a wall!! I came up with the hospital idea because Miya could ended there if he has a beef with Snake and Adam takes part of it  (which is something that I DON’T wish to happen, but it would definitely make Reki angry)

4) Joe’s restaurant 

Joe’s restaurant is fully wood but who knows maybe he has wine wallpaper in the bathrooms I don’t know I’m desperate. Since Joe has been a role model to Reki he could go to this place to talk to him (maybe after Langa’s talk??)

5) S

(okay, just look how Reki is hugging Miya...  Just... give me a second)

Before I’ve said that it seems very unlikely to me that Reki would go in his school uniform to S, but it is true that in ep.4, when Adam makes his first appearance in the crowds, everything has this kind of purple/wine coloured light.  It doesn’t explain the smoothenes of the background but you know, it’s a possibility. 

6) This one freaks me out but... Adam’s house 

i CAN’T explain how, but look at the background, look at the bakground and tell me that the colour of the corridor doesn’t match the one of the other shoot. Look at me and tell me that the courtains, if they where closed (I dont know if that is the correct verb) wouldn’t look like the background we are looking for. 

Now, how does Reki end up in Adam’s office??? Ha, no idea. 

And that is all I wanted to say. I know I  have rambled too much and get obsessed with stuff that may not be as important as I think, but Reki being in what looks like an unknown location when there is only three episodes left gives me creeps. 

I would love to hear your theoris though! Keep in mind I basically made up all of this and just tried to convince myself of it!

ok i have a few things to say abt this

i LOVE sk8 i thought it was such a fun and exciting show and one(if not the only?) shounen-y skateboarding animes out there so obv it has moments of skateboard skills that r just not humanly possible but its an anime so. lmfao. but overall it stays p true to the heart of skateboarding!! awesome animation cool characters (except. well. we'll get to him) and just an overall eye catching aesthetic ❤️ v cool v swag v epic

there is ONE character whom i hate so dearly 🥰 i hope to kill him until he dies hes basically the hisoka of sk8 in which he is obsessed with a child due to their "skill" but its played in an almost romantic way and he calls them the EVE to his ADAM (his name is adam btw). so yea hes a freak i hate him sm if shit like that makes u uncomfy just. steer clear of this show i know there were some parts where i had to pause and take a walk around my bedroom bc i was so angry and uncomfortable when he was in a scene

putting THAT to the side, the show is also p focused on the whole bromance narrative so there r limited female characters and the one girlboss we DO get just putters around for a few episodes then gets kicked out like wtf 💀 its not my biggest gripe but it made me a lil salty lol

but id say despite that it is a v worth while watch tbh!!! i had so much fun binging the first couple episodes, then consequently waiting one week for every new one BDJFKNSKDOD i got hooked real fast, the main characters (reki (reki my beloved) and langa) have such good chemistry they r so fun and sweet together and the ensemble cast is amazing too, joe n cherry n miya n shadow deserve the world and more. ALSO. sk8 has made me laugh out loud so many times there r loads of silly moments to giggle at 🙏🏽

now moving onto the topic of queerbaiting...

first things first. there is a post out there somewhere talking abt this in better detail but i couldnt find it so i'll try to put it into my own words. u shouldn't rly look at sk8 thru a western viewpoint of whats queerbaiting or not.

in the western world, while still not as prominent or accepted as cishet relationships, lgbtq relationships r a lot more present, mainly bc they r allowed to b. now this is not to say that its sooooo easy to make queer relationships appear on the big screen, they still face a lot of backlash from ppl even IF the entertainment industry has made good steps in being inclusive. with this im just trying to point out that while still not normalized completely yet, lgbtq representation is easier to produce/consume

in this way, i personally dont believe sk8 was gaybaiting or queerbaiting at ALL. pls feel free to correct me if im wrong, im not the most knowledgeable on the subject, but it is arguably harder to produce or animate queer relationships in Japan, especially if its meant to be a shounen-type anime.

thru claiming sk8 is queerbaiting by not animating their two leads kissing or confessing to each other or whatever, u r discrediting everything else that makes reki and langas relationship so special. no they do not profess their love for each other under the light of the moon, but they are shown time and time again to care very deeply for each other, to push each other to b and do their best, they are shown to b very physically affection, to have have a strong bond built not only on a mutual love of skateboarding, but a mutual respect for one another

if u RLY wanna get shippy tho (not judging) there are a few moments that rly cement how much they like/care abt the other sprinkled throughout the show. i wont get into too much detail to avoid spoilers, but while one of the main characters is talking to his mom, she thinks he is asking her how to confess to a girl when he says he "likes the person." the same main character tells the other he wants to "skate infinitely" with him. which is pretty gay in and of itself if u ask me

so, from all that, i would say the producers, directors, animators, voice actors, and everyone who worked on this show did the best they could in terms of getting the ship as close to canon as they could what with all the restrictions they had to tiptoe around. i was pretty satisfied with the ending (bar the small complaints mentioned previously) and i know a lot of other ppl were too!! again, deffos worth watching in my opinion

this got kind of rambly so sorry for that but i hope this clears some stuff up, and if u end up watching it i hope u enjoy!

p.s. if u truly r desperate for ship content (again, not judging) u can always check the dub and the content that comes with it! the english VAs r very vocal abt their love for the ships in the show so u can get ur share of that from there ❤️

I am a romantic at heart, I once confessed to my crush through a love letter. My love language is physical touch, I love giving and receiving hugs so much! The biggest thing about my fiance has always been honesty. He doesn't ever lie to me, he doesn't play games. (unlike my family, where my mom bluntly told me she refuses to communicate clearly). It was a learning curve to not to make assumptions about him all the time as a result, but I quickly learned that when he said something, he meant it. So when I think about feeling safe, I think about my relationship with him and how we communicate about everything. We've had our rough patches, especially in the beginning, but I feel like working through everything together and equally has left us with a really solid basis for a relationship

He's kinda shy and very anxious. A bit of a loner. Can be either very soft or gruff and protective and I love every aspect of him. He's kinda my exact type of guy honestly u///u I saw a post once about bisexual girls and their sad gamer boyfriends and that's very much us, I think. on a scale of 1-10, how ticklish are they? i’m gonna say he’s about a 7.5! you probably expected a lot higher, but he tends to not have overly extreme reactions. the points go up because of his most sensitive spots, explained below!
