Be careful who you mess with

Caleb here used to be a skinny little nerd that I would bully until he learned how to do witchcraft.

first, off he used a muscle theft spell to steal all of my muscles along with my dad's then he used another spell to swap ages with my dad, finally he used a spell that changed reality so now my dad is my brother and Caleb is now our stepdad who we're stuck alone with since our mom is always out of town for business.

now he torments us and makes us do all the household chores while he just sits around and watches tv or plays video games, sometimes he'll sit on us or use us as footstools or worse make us wash his feet especially when they're sweaty and smelly in fact, he tends to have a really strong body odor filling up the house with his musk.

our lives are now a living nightmare and we're not gonna be able to go to college to get away from him cause of our low grades and the fact Caleb refuses to pay for it and our mom goes along with whatever he says so we're stuck with him.

Moral of the story: Be careful who you mess with.

I had always been a big fan of Markiplier, my life was pretty hard so i always looked to his videos to cheer me up, one night on my way home from work i saw a shooting star and wished i could be just like Mark, the next morning i woke up in a room unfamiliar to me, i got up and began to examine myself as my body was now different, i than remembered my wish to be Markiplier and realized it worked as i was now in his body.

Turns out i wasn’t alone as mark was still in his body co conscious with me, at first mark was scared and upset by me accidentally possessing him but soon we grew close and he had no problem sharing a body with me as we would take turns being the one in control, it was perfect since now i got to both be with mark and be him and i wouldn’t have it any other way.

My dad asked me to help him get in shape and i agreed thinking he meant helping him workout, suddenly my muscles began shrinking and being replaced by fat while the inverse happened to my dad as his body fat began to be burned off and be replaced by the muscles i had just lost.

our body types had been completely switched i now had his slightly overweight body while he had my sexy muscular body i worked hard for

Just want to say I love your blog. Your TUA content is lovely and I can't say what a breath of fresh air it is to find another Luther champion. The fandoms treatment of him, istg, some of the most ludacris nonsense I've ever had to read. Especially love how you point out he's ALWAYS been so sweet and selfless when it comes to Allison and her personal happiness. Anyway I saw you say you seem confident alluther will actually happen. I sure hope so, but why do you figure? The antis are so loud.

Awwwww, thank you anon, you’re so sweet! Yeah, this blog is on 24/7 loving Luther lockdown! I feel like the antis are easing up a little bit after S2 aired because most of Luther’s scenes were used as comedic relief and the faves he was clashing with (Diego and Vanya) seem to have a better relationship with him now, so it’s not as bad anymore, but I have to admit I never ever go into the main tag so I can’t be 100% sure. 

Maybe you should try looking through the ‘Luther Protection Squad’ tag to find some more like-minded people? I swear there are more of us out there!

But to come to the Alluther question: 

I know that the antis are loud and I’ve noticed that most of them have counted S2 as a win for them, talking about how Allison ‘moved on’ and how Alluther won’t happen but I disagree (and I will now launch into a rambly post about why lmao).

WARNING: CONTAINS S2 SALT. PROCEED WITH CAUTION

All of this is based on the assumption though that they will be somewhat consistent in their writing regarding Alluther and S2 taught me that that isn’t very likely, so maybe I’m completely wrong and Alluther will never ever be mentioned in S3, but based on what happened so far, I could see them as an endgame couple. 

I mean in S1 they were a pretty big plot point so I don’t think I have to say anything about that but even though the Alluther scenes have been toned down in S2 they were there. 

Let’s see what antis would say about why Alluther won’t happen: 

Allison is married

And? Allison has been married before and still mentioned comparing every man she ever loved/dated to Luther. Allison has been married and she has had a kid with another guy and still Alluther was going strong. 

Not to mention that the end of this season has made it very clear we won’t see Raymond again.

Raymond (and Sissy) are temporary love interests for this particular season and both of them cannot leave their timeline without majorly fucking things up - at least according to Five, but the whole timetravel rules can change at the drop of a hat - but more importantly, both of them had a talk with their respective lovers about wanting to stay in their timeline. 

So unless Allison will return to the 60s (which doesn’t seem likely tbh), Raymond is gone for good. 

 Raymond was her true love tho! Like Klave!

I don’t think antis actually word it like this but I’ve noticed how all of them hopped onto the Almond train immediately and keep gushing about how good and cute they are and that’s great! You can ship what you wanna ship! But I think a lot of the love for this ship has to do with how it prevents Alluther from happening. If Allison is deeply in love with this wholesome man, she can’t ever like her brother. 

But tbh….I didn’t buy Almond. For two people who are happily married they crumble and burn awfully fast. 

And tbh, I was thinking about making a post about this so I’m gonna add this rant here but I just wanna preface this with the fact that I don’t hate them and I don’t hate people who ship them, I’m just….using this opportunity to poke some hole into their relationship. 

I think it would’ve been more believable if Raymond and Allison would be in the early stages of dating while all of S2 goes down. Think about it.

They are married? After one year? I mean, as far as I know, Allison has been in the 60s for about two years - since Luther was the first one who arrived and he spent 3 years there??? But I am not fact-checking this, so correct me if I’m wrong - so she had time to get used to being there, adjust to having no voice, meet Raymond, fall in love with him and get married to him. 

And considering she could already talk again it must’ve have been a while before she started talking to/dating Raymond? I don’t think a wound like that wouldn’t take a while to heal but with this show’s consistency, maybe it did. 

I was actually hoping Allison would stay mute for a while longer but alas

So, they got married pretty fast imo, and you could argue that it’s the 60s but 

Allison isn’t from the 60s

Allison just got out of a bad marriage. There’s like, a year?? maybe?? between her first marriage and her second one and tbh, I don’t think Allison would get married again so fast, tying herself to someone again almost immediately, especially if you consider what getting married in the 60s means for a woman and her personal freedom (it’s hinted at with Sissy but not with Allison and even though Raymond was probably a good husband who let her have her freedom and her say in things - as we can see with their movement - it’s still the 60s. Women couldn’t earn their own money. They couldn’t even spend any money without having to ask their husband. They were basically property of their husband and I can’t believe Allison would immediately jump back into being married, no matter how nice and good the guy is). 

“That just means it’s true love! That’s why their marriage may seem rushed!”

Yeah true love. I also keep secrets from my true love.

I mean, I understand that Allison couldn’t start talking about time travel or Raymond would’ve started thinking she’s crazy or something - and maybe would’ve sent her to a mental institution as is his right as a husband, so good idea getting married! - but she didn’t mention stuff like “I had a child.” or “I lost my family.” either and those are vague enough to not raise questions.

I mean, she could’ve lied! She could’ve said Claire is dead, which considering the apocalypse was what they were escaping is true!

She could’ve talked about how she had a family, but they kinda lost each other - maybe talking about how they all moved away and she doesn’t know where they are now, even though she misses them terribly. 

I mean, I simply can’t believe that she had to grief for her own child all on her own and she didn’t even tell her husband (and she couldn’t even properly be sad about it since Raymond and her lived together, so she probably didn’t have many moments where she could think about the future and the things she lost without the possibility of being walked in on). 

And how much it would’ve meant if there would’ve been a scene of her crying over Claire when she thinks she’s alone, but alas.

Then there’s also the whole added drama to their relationship. Which was btw, so unnecessary.

@showwriters: Why do you establish a relationship you obviously want to be viewed as full of love and instead of letting it be the steady rock the character can lean on during all the already ongoing chaos, you add drama to it and let it fall apart as a side plot which immensely suffers from not being shown/explored enough. 

I mean, we already have relationship drama with Vanya/Sissy and that relationship feels more natural because their obstacles are outside forces and not...one of them distrusting the other. 

You know, I get why Raymond is suspicious, I totally do! I just don’t think it makes the relationship believable. 

Once again, if they would’ve been in the early stages of dating and suddenly Allison’s weird brothers appear and she seems to be in cahoots with the cops, I would also think ‘???’ and it would’ve made perfect sense for Raymond to be confused and distrustful and not want to talk to Allison. 

But they’re married. They’re married and they vowed to love each other in sickness and in health and yet Raymond immediately jumps to ‘Allison is a spy’.

The woman you love enough to marry. That’s your first thought. Okay. 

(And if you wanna compare that to Vissy...Vanya suddenly drives off in the night to meet her family and disappears for a while and she apparently did something to Harlan and now he’s behaving weirdly and has powers….and she’s talking about taking Sissy and him to the future…..and yet….Sissy trusted Vanya). 

And tbh, I was done with their whole relationship the moment Allison spent the whole night calling every single hospital, trying to find out whether her husband was in one of them - was even alive - in tears and close to breaking down because the last time she saw him they were both involved in a riot and the possibility of him being in jail or hurt is very high only to find out…..

…..he had a meeting with their group without telling her because he doesn’t trust her. 

And what? He couldn’t have called her to at least tell her he’s okay and he’s gonna stay somewhere else overnight because shady shit did just go down that they need to discuss but he wants to be alone for now? That’s the bare minimum and yet he doesn’t do that. He doesn’t even call to make sure she is okay since running away doesn’t mean she couldn’t have accidentally been dragged into a brawl and hurt. 

Once again: They are married. 

So tbh, all I got from this relationship is the feeling that Allison simply didn’t wanna be alone in this new timeline and that isn’t an explicit point against Alluther. 

Okay, but….Allison moved on! So she still won’t get with Luther!

Did she? Did she really? I don’t think so. I mean, one of the first things we get from Allison aside from ‘She’s married’ is ‘She looks at the moon so often, her husband notices and gets her a book related to that’. 

That’s one of the most blatant ways they could’ve said: ‘She misses Luther.’

And Luther only. Not the whole family, Luther. If they wanted to somehow make this platonic or familial, they wouldn’t have taken the character she is canonly interested in romantically (which she is and has been since S1, no matter what antis say). 

I mean, if they only wanted to show ‘She misses her family’ they could’ve added a scene where she listens to the kid next door playing the violin or sees a boy in schoolboy shorts or maybe mistakes someone for Diego or whatever, endless possibilities. But they didn’t. 

They made it very clear she misses Luther and I don’t think she had a scene that shows her missing any of her other siblings in such a way (which is btw paralleled by the scene where Luther mistakes someone for Allison, which is also the only scene where he’s shown thinking about one of his siblings to the point he thinks he sees them - as far as I remember). 

But that’s probably only a coincidence, right?

Then there’s them meeting for the first time. I mean, they hug and the rest of the world disappears.

They took the time to shoot/cut this scene in a way that, when Allison and Luther hug after years of not seeing each other, everyone else isn’t in the shot anymore and it’s just them. Because they tried to make this as platonic as possible. 

(In comparison, Allison and Diego don’t even hug. And Klaus and Allison do hug and it’s a happy moment but there is no romantic music and it’s more focused on them being happy to see each other and not framed as a romantic scene. I mean, I have no clue regarding things like ‘motifs’ and ‘scenery’ but just watch those two hug scenes back to back and you know what I mean). 

Then the scene proceeds and they talk and sit down and Luther mentions her marriage and Allison tries to apologize. 

Just think about that. She doesn’t outright apologize but she does try to explain why she got married by saying how hard it was and is only stopped by Luther telling her he’s glad she wasn’t alone. 

How….how can you read that as a platonic convo between brother and sister? Just replace Luther with Klaus. Why would she feel the need to explain herself and seems guilty about being married? Is it because it implies she gave up on finding her family? If so, that would be her reaction with every sibling but she is explicitly like this with Luther. She tells Klaus she’s married too, and in that scene it’s definitely a ‘siblings catching up’ moment and it’s a happy moment and she doesn’t seem apologetic about being married. 

She is with Luther. 

Because they both know that there’s something between them and has been for a long time, to the point that Allison is visibly jealous when Luther has other relationships (his one-night-stand in S1) and this is the second time Allison has turned towards another man instead of waiting for Luther. And that’s why she tries to apologize. That’s why she tries to explain that she couldn’t know whether they - whether Luther - would ever show up, so she tried her best to move on - but she didn’t really, hence the moon scene. 

(This is also the scene where Luther could’ve been angry with her - and she probably would’ve thought he’s in the right - since during the days leading up to the apocalypse it seemed like they were slowly working towards being together - even if the kiss never happened, there’s still the phone booth scene which is basically Luther confessing his feelings - and now she once again leaves him standing alone, waiting for her to possibly return to him. 

But he isn’t, he just tells her he’s glad that she wasn’t alone. Because he is the actual embodiment of a gentleman and this world doesn’t deserve him). 

And this is just what I remember from watching the season once and then not really engaging with it, I can’t understand how antis can see those scenes and come to entirely different conclusions. But I guess, you really only see what you wanna see, huh?

But, but…...Incest is disguting! Even their siblings think so!

They don’t. They really don’t. There’s a gifset on tumblr somewhere compiling the scenes in S1 that show how chill the sibs are with Alluther, but let’s disregard those and just focus on S2 since they changed up a lot from the prior season and antis seem to think S2 was them finally saying ‘No Alluther’. 

I guess there’s the hair salon scene where Vanya, Klaus and Allison talk about relationships and Klaus lightly teases Allison for liking Luther. 

Now, he mentions Allison crushing on their brother in the same sentence where he talks about Vanya and her ‘Farmfrau’ and unless I missed it, he doesn’t change his voice. He doesn’t suddenly sound completely disgusted, or like he wants to vomit or whatever people think, so either, he thinks Vissy is as ‘disgusting’ as Alluther, or, he thinks both are simply relationships his sibs are interested in pursuing and he teases them about them like a sibling may do. 

And then you have Allison’s reaction. 

She doesn’t go: ‘Oh yeah, that was gross, what was I thinking’, she doesn’t make a face or disgusted noises or what, no, she tries to defend herself and her feelings. 

Which tells us: 

Despite popular belief to disregard Allison’s say in the Alluther relationship, she wants the relationship and she is obvious enough about it their siblings know (and Klaus makes it a point to say ‘Allison is into Luther’ and not ‘Luther likes Allison and Allison tolerates it). 

Alluther is brought up while they talk about current relationships, implying Allison still feels this way (especially because the way she reacts doesn’t make it seem like it’s a long over relationship with no longer relevant feelings. But again, I watched the season once and I don’t remember everything that was said. I think this is telling enough though). 

So..tell me again how everyone thinks Alluther is disgusting?

By now anon is thinking: ‘What is the point of all this rambling?’ 

And yeah, I am sorry for going way too into detail but I just wanted to make it clear that if the writers were intend on killing Alluther off in S2 - like antis believe - then everything I just mentioned wouldn’t have happened.

(And that’s without even mentioning the cpr scene). 

Alluther did get reduced but it didn’t vanish even though they decided to completely erase other things (like Claire and Eudora who are barely or not at all mentioned or things like Kliego being very close). 

This would’ve been the best opportunity! They re-meet in the 60s and Allison is happily married and takes the time to tell Luther he should move on. Or both are single and Luther tries to ask where they’re standing and whether she would like to try with him and she goes ‘This would be a mistake’ and that’s it.

(I am making Allison the one who ends things because it would be ooc for Luther to just end the possible relationship after waiting for Allison for years and there needs to be some consistency even in the mess that was S2). 

But! This didn’t happen!

Alluther is more or less back where it was in S1. Allison isn’t in a relationship anymore and won’t get back with the guy and Luther loves her no matter what. And the cheek kiss seems to leave them both on a hopeful note of finally getting together. 

So unless they use S3 to once again redo the show, it feels like Alluther is set up to be endgame. Like, I am getting ‘star-crossed lovers’ vibes where you’re just waiting for them to finally get together - because they just belong - but things keep getting in the way.  

You could compare it Diego/Lila in that regard, I think it’s pretty obvious those two are gonna end up together too. 

I have another ask about how they could get together, where I will definitely ramble more, but this shall be it for now. I hope it was halfway consistent. (And doesn’t have too many typos, I’m too lazy to check).

Oh my god I feel so bad if I’ve EVER made you feel any sort of sad or bad or anything for loving who you love. I know I can get heated, and passionate and that most of my problems with characters in that show stem down to, they were used by the writers in an agenda at one point to shame/humiliate/take away, from a certain thing or character I loved. My problem with the show is mostly the showrunners themselves were anti clary, and liked a bunch of anti her posts ON THEIR FIRST DAY ANNOUNCED, so like I’ve been bitter at them for a long time.  

But I would never EVER want to make you feel like like this ever. Or anyone for that matter. I feel horrible and just know it’s never my intention. I know what that feels like and honestly? I try to be really careful, even when I don’t like characters, to either not mention them, or over anti tag things that might even be as simple as yeah didn’t like that scene, but I will use every variation of the anti tag I know  because I KNOW exactly how it feels for people to shit on your faves constantly in front of your face and not care. And like I don’t wanna hurt my friends? Or people on here in general who I’m like that one meme -sees a mutual I never talk to- das my friend lmksdjf, like again I’m very sorry. Because I think I know what posts you mean and if I forgot to tag those, because I have friends who adore simon and alec, I will literally kick the hell out of myself kjsdffkj

Oh oh fun fact though to be like positive! I adored simon in s1!! Like I remember actually crying over him and clary in episode 2 when it aired and being so worried for him like NO I CAN’T WAIT ANOTHER WEEK GIVE HIM BACK.

I also really adored s1 alec. I have a malec tattoo actually. Like those were my children and like ya girl sobbed a few times over him in like 3 episodes just saying jsdfjgf Like I got his reservations and everything and just. I also really adore some of 3x20 bar a certain scene, and I will never be able to hear bridges without crying so THANKS SHOW.

I think everything can be boiled down to I’m mad at the showrunners who listened to a select few loud fandom peeps and thought their treatment of clary, and using characters to push that anti agenda was okay. I also have been on this site in the fandom since before the show aired and seeing a subset of the fandom turn into calling for clary to get erased and sending vile shit for years. I’m just tired. I dunno if it was in the posts you saw or not, but I’ve always said that the showrunners and fandom ruined it for me. Characters I used to love that were used by both of them to push this agenda were just casualties.

And I would never hate anyone??? For loving them. I encourage it??? I think a part of me thinks if I constantly see them being loved on by my friends I’ll be able to forget the shit the fandom put me through and enjoy them.

But like I’m happy?? Genuinely?? for anyone who loves all the characters you mentioned. I try my hardest not to mention any I don’t have hella good feeling on but only because I don’t want to be bitter or hurt my friends feelings. And if I mention them at all I over tag the hell out of anti tags even when, like I said I might even defend them at one point. But oh my god actually to answer what you said at first, yeah fandom is scary and I’m. I will literally fight anyone who comes for you for what you love??? Like we’re all different???? We all love different things and thats a good thing?? And I 1000% adore seeing people getting happy for things they loved and like my opinion don’t count for shit. I like what I like, you like what you like, and nobody better ever even breathe in your direction about it. Like. I love your blog and your autistic and aro headcanons! I just wanted to ask: I'm [probably] not an autistic person but sometimes yours and other autistic people's headcanons and writing about experiences inspire my own autistic character headcanons. I worry I should not be making these headcanons (in case I'm misinterpreting your experiences or being unintentionally Terrible) but if you have any advice on this I'd be grateful! No worries if not, as well. Keep being your fantastic self

This is a really sweet message thank you so much! As a general rule, there’s nothing wrong with allistics making autistic headcanons; in fact, I’d personally really like to see that be something that grows more mainstream, because it’d mean normalization of autistic headcanons/characters and show a general growing interest in actually learning about autism. So please, do go ahead and make your headcanons! There’s no problem with them!

That said, it’s also unfortunately true that some allistics (often a lot of them) who make autistic headcanons can fall into some common ableist (or not necessarily ableist but still kind of unfortunate) pitfalls, so in case you’re worried about that (although honestly the fact that you sent this ask in the first place probably means that you’re good anyway), here’s some tips and tricks to avoid common issues with allistic autistic headcanons (there’s an oxymoron if I ever heard one):

Please don’t use functioning labels for your autistic characters. Functioning labels are labels like ‘high-functioning’ and ‘low-functioning’, and they’re generally considered to be bad by the autistic community for a variety of reasons (more here (although most of the links are dead), here, here (under ‘We Are One Community’), here). However, I’ve noticed a lot of allistics (and ignorant autistics too) who add these onto their headcanons. Please don’t? 

More of a personal thing, but please don’t separate your autistic headcanons into ‘Aspergers’ and ‘autism’. Aspergers is autism, and with the updated DSM, does not exist anymore and has been merged into the overarching diagnosis of ASD. Classifying specific characters as ‘aspies’ is alienating to autistics who aren’t aspies. If aspies themselves headcanon characters as aspies I don’t mind, but when allistics do it I get Suspicious. 

This also goes for separating your autism diagnosis into ‘PDD-NOS’ and ‘classical autism’, but I pretty much never see that so it has lower priority.

Full disclosure though: I have very negative experiences with the Aspergers diagnosis in general and I hate it so much that I have ‘aspie’, ‘aspergers’, and ‘aspergers syndrome’ just straight up blacklisted. I’m not an unbiased source here. 

While we’re on the topic of correct language usage, please use identity first language for your autistic headcanon, not person first language (identity first: autistic person; person first: person with autism). The majority of the autistic community prefers identity first language because we don’t feel like our autism can be separated from who we are (more here, here). 

Also maybe refrain from using the phrases ‘ASD’, ‘on the spectrum’, ‘somewhere on the autism spectrum’, etc. and just use ‘autistic’ instead. There’s nothing inherently Problematic(TM) about those phrases, but it’s really weird to read an entire autistic headcanon that doesn’t use the word autistic, or seems to want to avoid using it. 

Don’t use infantilizing language! Maybe think twice before calling your autistic headcanon a ‘precious baby’ or a ‘smol child’ or something, especially if they’re a grown adult. I mean, doing this once in the tags of a post when they’re being cute or something is fine, but do NOT do this on posts where you talk about them being autistic, and do NOT do this on a regular basis.

Do NOT compare them to inhuman things like animals, computers, or aliens. Just. Don’t. Ever.

Be careful headcanoning inhuman characters as autistic. It’s generally not inherently problematic, especially not in fantasy/sci-fi shows where the majority of the cast is inhuman, but it gets really tiring to only ever see the robot/alien headcanoned as autistic, and it promotes our dehumanization. Just examine your patterns and maybe try headcanoning a human character as autistic as well in those sci-fi/fantasy shows?

This goes more for robots/aliens than for things like elves. Robots/aliens tend to be autism-coded, which has lead to the negative stereotype that autistics are like robots, and the very literal alienation of autistic people. Elves, on the other and, are not historically autism-coded, and are generally considered super cool and graceful and such, so headcanoning them as autistic is pretty much always okay.

If possible, promote autistics who make content for your autistic headcanon! Read their fics! Reblog their headcanon posts! If you can’t find stuff that’s fine, and you can definitely make your own stuff as well, but if you can, promote autistics!

Related, listen to autistics! Not just when we tell you something is problematic, but if you’re making headcanons, it’s a good idea to have at least a base knowledge of our experiences and the issues we face, so that you don’t accidentally do something problematic. (Anon seems to have this down already, but since this is more of a general list, I’m putting it on anyway). ASAN and the Autism Women’s Network are both fantastic places to start learning about autism, Autism Speaks is the devil and to be avoided at all costs, and there’s plenty of autistic bloggers on this site, so maybe follow some autism blogs!

Don’t put an ‘I’m allistic so tell me if I said something bad!’ disclaimer on your autistic headcanon posts. This is a good habit when writing Serious Posts, but for headcanons, it’s unnecessary and generally kinda weird. It’s not Problematic(TM), and I understand having anxiety and insecurity when making headcanons for something outside of your experience, but it’s. Kinda annoying. Do it in the tags instead; that way people can still be informed about the fact that you’re allistic, without it being obnoxiously on the post no matter what you do.

Don’t write fic specifically about being autistic - you are not autistic and you’re probably gonna get something wrong. Instead, incorporate your autistic headcanon into fics about something else. It’s fine if the autism features heavily, just... no ‘x always knew they were different’ or ‘x has always seen the word in a different light due to the fact that they’re autistic’-centric fics. 

Exception: you can write fics about being autistic provided you have an autistic beta/sensitivity reader. And if you do, mention it somewhere on the fic. Idk about other autistics, but unless an autism-centric fic seems like it was written by an autistic, I scroll right past it, because they tend to be very ableist if they’re written by allistics. So if you have an autistic sensitivity reader, mention it.

Headcanon lists are fine though! Headcanon lists are generally less intensive and require less ability to ‘get into someone’s head’ than fic writing, so if you want to say ‘I headcanon x as autistic because y reasons’ or ‘x is autistic and they stim in the following ways/have meltdowns/script/etc.’ that’s fine and cool!

Fanart and edits are cool too! Again, there’s less need to get into someone’s head, so drawing a character while stimming or editing the autism/neurodiversity rainbow infinity symbol behind them is just fine!

Every once in a while, sit back and examine the patterns in your autistic headcanons. What kind of characters are you headcanoning as autistic? Do you notice any worrying patterns? For example, are all your autistic headcanons white, or are they all male, or are they all robots/aliens, or do you also just so happen to headcanon all of them as aro/ace and/or unavailable for romantic/sexual relationships? That’s not to say that any and all patterns are always bad or ableist (pretty much all of my autistic headcanons are also aspec bc I’m an autistic aspec and I like projecting) (although if your autistic headcanons are always male/white, then yes that’s absolutely bad), but if you find a pattern, examine possible reasons why it exists.

This is a good habit to get into with any kind of minority headcanon, by the way! I’m gonna use LGBT+ headcanons as an example: who are you headcanoning as aspec and why? Do you notice a particular LGBT+ that’s getting left behind in your headcanons? Do you always pick the same character archetype for certain LGBT+ headcanons (for example, cold unapproachable characters as aro or extroverted characters as pan), and if so, why? 

Actually! Examining your patterns in fandom behaviour in general is good. If you notice you usually don’t like female characters, then that’s probably something you should examine. If you notice that all your faves are white and that you are more interested in white background characters than main characters of colour, you should examine that. If you notice that, even though you like this minority character or headcanon, you don’t consume or create any content for them, examine why. 

Problematic fandom behaviour very rarely manifests itself in something that happens once. It’s not inherently wrong to dislike this female character or not to like that ace headcanon, but if you notice that you consistently don’t like or aren’t interested in a particular character or headcanon, or if you notice that you consistently give particular characters particular headcanons, that might be an issue. Like I said, patterns are not always bad, but it’s good to be aware of them in case they are.

I’ll elaborate a bit on autistic aspec headcanons bc that’s such a hot button issue in fandom (bc people are asshats), but the tl;dr is that autistic aspec headcanons are not inherently bad and in fact, as an autistic aspec myself, I rather like them. However, headcanoning the one autistic-coded character as the one aroace in the group unfortunately does happen pretty often (Entrapta from She-Ra comes to mind - I’ve seen SO MANY posts about how everyone is a lesbian in She-Ra except for Entrapta, who is aroace of course, and it’s... pretty suspicious). But that’s not to say that you cannot headcanon autistic-coded/headcanoned characters as aspec; I elaborate more on this topic here (featuring a GREAT addition by @aroworlds!). Just examine your patterns and why they exist.

So this is not something that Inherently Problematic(TM), but it’s very annoying to me, so here goes: maybe diversify your autistic headcanons. I’m not saying ‘make sure your autistic headcanons are also poc/lgbt/etc.’ (although that’s very cool too), but just... diversify the autism itself. Often, it’s the exact same character archetype that gets headcanoned as autistic, and as an autistic whose autism tends to manifest in less typical ways, it gets... annoying. 

Examples of typical autism tropes: the eccentric (computer/science) genius, the robot/alien, the socially awkward.traumatized loner, etc.

Examples of characters frequently headcanoned as autistic: Tony Stark (eccentric computer genius), Bruce Banner (socially awkward science genius), Pidge from Voltron (eccentric computer/science genius), Keith from Voltron (socially awkward loner alien), Entrapta (eccentric computer/science genius), Sherlock Holmes (eccentric genius), etc.

Also note how 90% of these characters are skinny white guys.

Seriously it’s 100% more likely for a skinny white guy to get headcanoned as autistic than it is for any character of colour and/or female character to get headcanoned as autistic, PLEASE examine your biases.

Examples of character archetypes that damn near never get headcanoned as autistic: team leaders, extroverted/loud characters, team heart (aka the ‘team mediator’, the glue that keeps people together), etc.

Examples of autistic headcanons I have that are non-conventional/less common: Allura from Voltron (team heart, leader), Hunk from Voltron (team heart), Arthur from BBC Merlin (leader), Kaldur’ahm from Young Justice (leader).

All of these characters are pretty damn autism-coded, and while it’s not... impossible to find content for some of these, there’s generally a lot less for them. 

What I’m getting at is that, because the stereotypical autism-coded character of the eccentric computer nerd/socially awkward loner/robot/alien looms larger in the public consciousness, there’s a confirmation bias when it comes to these kind of characters. This often gets coupled with the stereotype that all autistic people are white boys, which results in a whole lot of the same white guys being headcanoned as autistic, even when other characters are just as if not more autism-coded. 

It’s not Problematic(TM) to headcanon more stereoypically autism-coded characters as autistic, and it’s honestly not even Problmatic(TM) to only headcanon those characters as autistic, especially not if an autistic person who does present like that relates to those characters or if an allistic isn’t sure about their headcanons and wants to play it safe. But it does lead to a very monotone depiction of autism, and leads autistic people who don’t fit the stereotypical mold (me!) to feel left out. So, if possible, try researching lesser known autism traits or just generally thinking a bit out of the box when making autism headcanons.

It’s definitely bad to only headcanon skinny white guys as autistic though. Like I know I’ve said this 50 times now, but seriously, fandom racism and sexism (or a neat combination of the two in case of female character of colour) is SUPER noticeable in autistic headcanons. 

And lastly: when in doubt, ask an autistic! Asking questions isn’t illegal, and if you’re not sure about whether x thing you want to do is okay, just shoot an autistic (who is okay with questions) an ask! I’m always open for questions about autism and such (and I love talking about it so that’s a bonus), so don’t be afraid to hit me up for further info!

so, i know you’ve probably seen too many losers’ club + social media headcanons, BUT what if each loser had one (1) site they’re most active on. hear me out:

BEN HANSCOM. you know for sure his book loving ass actually uses that book nerd site, goodreads. ben has a popular blog for book reviews, and he also blogs about architecture. but he’s a lot on goodreads, he’s that positive beam of light on your timeline, gushing about release dates and liking everyone’s statuses. his tbr has 2000+ books. he has the full amount of friends you can have on goodreads, and he’s a top reviewer. people really like his reviews because they’re well thought of, and even though he finds some books problematic or doesn’t like them, he’ll never completely bash them. ben also has a bookstagram, but he always forgets to update it so he’ll post a picture of his bookshelf like once a month.

BEVERLY MARSH. now my girl beverly. she’s on twitter pretty much 24/7. she posts a lot of rants, is involved in a lot of dumb drama but she’s never on the dumb side. she follows everyone back, but is quick to unfollow is some fuckery happens. because a lot of stuff happens to her, she’ll post a lot of little storytimes, always beginning with “you’ll never guess what happened to me…” bev is also that person who gets retweeted by celebrities, and they’ll reply to her too, and she really doesn’t know what draws them to her, she’s even followed by some. bev also changes her icon a lot, they vary from flawless selfies to crappy memes. she also changes her handle, it’s either her name, a variation of her name (e.g. meme, festive) or just something vague for the #aesthetic. beverly has a tumblr, but she doesn’t like it there and she’s online like once a year.

BILL DENBROUGH. what does our dear writer boy use? well, tumblr of course. bill won’t touch wattpad even if he’d receive 1k. he’s in too many fandoms to count and his fics are flawless, one of them has a cult. bill claims to be busy but he still manages to write a drabble a day. he’s inbox is full of prompts, and he plans to fill them all, simultaneously working on novel length multichapter wips. people leave kudos to him on ao3 even before reading the fic. he replies to every comment, and is open to ideas and always credits people. every fandom is dying to have him in a group chat, but sadly he hasn’t have time to be that active in any of them. bill tumblr is basically only his writing, but he also reblog other people’s fics and he loves moodboards, no matter how shitty. he’ll die if you make a moodboard for his fic. and whenever bill posts original writing, everyone is shook.

MIKE HANLON. mike is actually the most internet famous of the losers. he’s a youtuber, he began when was 12 and gained followers pretty quickly. he used to post acoustic covers of his favorite songs but nowadays he mainly just documents his life. he’s the nicest guy ever! truly an unproblematic fave! he does daily vlogs on his side channel, but he’s pretty active on his main as well, posting every thursday and Sunday. he’s always on schedule. he replies to his followers often with the nicest things, and his reactions to hate comments are g  o l d e n, they’re those things that people screenshot and get to trend on tumblr and twitter and instagram. one of them even becomes a meme (richie’s fault). mike’s not one for youtube trends, he never wants to write a book or go on tour, but he fully supports those youtubers who do. mike just wants to do what he loves. his channel is super funny, but there are discussions of serious topics like racism.

EDDIE KASPBRARK. eddie is the friendly neighborhood instagram addict. well, he’s not on instragram that much, but he has a large following that he gained almost accidentally. he posts a lot of pretty selfies, he’s the king of taking selfies actually. he has no bad angles. he doesn’t even need filters. he leaves everyone shook. the instagram is 90% of his selfies, actually, and his captions are always long and he’s ranting about this and that. he speaks a lot about gay rights, of course. beverly’s always commenting, adding her insightful thoughts, and she and eddie have full on conversations in the comment section. richie leaves a caps lock comment on every post. eddie blocks him three times a month. stan leaves a purple heart on every post, and eddie replies with a pink one.

RICHIE TOZIER. imagine a world where vine didn’t die because our richie tozier is a viner. his vines are quite absurd. no one really understands his humor, and when they do, they recognize the jokes are quite crappy. but richie has influential friends, like mike hanlon. richie actually has a youtube channel as well, but he mostly just vines since he’s so bad at editing. he appears on mike’s videos a lot, and people are either exhilarated or annoyed. they can’t fathom the fact that richie is friends with so many popular people. they catch on with his friendship with bev when richie takes over bev’s twitter. bev punishes him by posting a lot of unflattering pictures of him, but richie doesn’t mind. he’s also friends with that book nerd kid, ben???? richie starts to make vines where he walks up to ben and asks what’s he reading, and ben will answer something like “fifty shades of grey, but with chickens” even though he’s clearly holding the great gatsby. richie also makes cringy musical.lys. we don’t speak of those.

STANLEY URIS. stan is so lowkey on social media. he has tumblr for the sole reason of reblogging each and every one of bill’s fics, and it’s a joke among bill’s readers. like people will post “managed to reblog bill’s latest drabble before birdboystan!!!!”. stan has a private instagram and he has posted four (4) pictures: a blurry artistic selfie, a photo of a bird’s nest, an inspirational quote and an thing richie tagged him in. he gets follower requests every day, because he’s that guy eddie kaspbrak always replies to. stan never accepts any. he’s only let eddie, and for some reason richie, follow him. but you what is stan’s main place? pinterest. don’t tell me this boy doesn’t have the neatest and most aesthetically pleasing pinterest boards.

In Evidence of Magical Theory by @bixgirl1​ (Explicit, 43k) In which Harry and Draco can’t fight, and so they fall in love instead. When a hex meant for Draco accidentally catches Harry as well, the pair are forced to learn to understand each other in ways they previously might have thought impossible. Okay, but I love this fic so much?? Like?? So so so sweet and omg how?!? This is an amazing (if short, imo) read. I mean, IT HAS BED-SHARING. WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?

Lumos by birdsofshore (Explicit, 41k) Harry never expected to spend eighth year listening to Draco Malfoy wanking. Umm, this had, surprisingly, more plot than I was expecting and it’s just such a well-written fic. My boys just sharing a room ~cough, bed, cough~ and falling in love. And then (SPOILER) happens. And jkdgfsjd I just want to go read it again.

Mental by sara_holmes (Mature, 186k) Harry has had quite enough of sharing his mind with someone else, thankyouverymuch. A miscast Legilimecy spell says otherwise. This is prrrrrobably my fave fic ever? Just because of the mind-sharing trope? I live for that. And the way sara_holmes handled it in this fic is truly amazing and the relationship between Drarry develops so nicely that I just uggghh. I love it so much!!

Written on the Heart by who_la_hoop (Explicit, 113k) Harry doesn’t mind that so many Slytherins from his year have returned to finish their NEWTs, really he doesn’t. It’s just – do they have to be so friendly? He’s not prejudiced, really he’s not. It’s just – they’ve got to be up to something, right? Unnerved by the attention he’s attracting from everyone – the Slytherins are the least of it, to be fair – and struggling with a raft of changes to Hogwarts itself, Harry wishes he could be happy that one constant remains: Draco Malfoy really fucking hates him. When he’s hit by an illegal love-spell though, Harry finds he has more to worry about than whether or not Blaise Zabini actually wants to be his friend. For if everyone affected has been blessed – or cursed, by the look on Malfoy’s face – with a magical tattoo revealing the name of their soulmate, what does it mean that Harry’s skin remains completely bare? You need to read this fic if you haven’t. Draco pines after Harry like an idiot and refuses to admit it (kinda?). And Blaise is a national treasure. Though, my favorite part of this fic is the ending! So cute and hopeful? ooh and I had this art requested for a part of this fic, although it’s not the exact scene. And it just makes it all the more special to me. (and this is a companion piece to that, even though it has nothing to do with the fic!)

Azoth by zeitgeistic (Explicit, 90k) Now that Harry is back at Hogwarts with Hermione for eighth year, he realises that something’s missing from his life, and it either has to do with Ron, his boggart, Snape, or Malfoy. Furthermore, what, exactly, does it mean when one’s life is defined by the desire to simultaneously impress and annoy a portrait? Harry has no idea; he’s too busy trying not to be in love with Malfoy to care. I would recommend this fic to anyone! Even someone who doesn’t ship Drarry, just because it has such an interesting plot! I don’t want to reveal too much about it but it has to do with Alchemy. And Snape is amazing in it. (Just read it, okay?? Go, go, go!)

At Your Service by Faith Wood (Explicit, 95k) Hogwarts students are in danger; Harry is determined to save them all. There’s only one thing he knows for certain: Draco Malfoy is somehow involved. This fic had such a clever plot, that I just can’t!!!!! Those of you who follow my blog, now you know from where my obsession with faithwood stemmed. She’s fantastic. And you should definitely read this because omg. I’m warning you about the flangst, though! :)

Sealed with a Kiss by Faith Wood (Explicit, 46k) Harry Potter will fall in love with the first person who kisses him. Draco knows what he must do. A Christmassy Hogwarts fic, this. This is pure rom-com. Nothing more, nothing less. Draco’s in denial and Harry’s kind of in denial and Ron is definitely in denial.

Right Hand Red by @lqtraintracks (Explicit, 73k) Harry felt Malfoy’s breath on his lips as they came together over the bottle, hands firmly planted on the floor as though they each needed their familiar soil, refusing to cross into enemy territory. Except that Malfoy no longer felt like his enemy. Malfoy felt inevitable. I was hesitant to read this because I thought their romance would be too fast, evident by the summary, but omg NO! It was absolutely perfect. Definitely worth checking out!

Then Comes a Mist and a Weeping Rain by Faith Wood (Explicit, 21k) It always rains for Draco Malfoy. Metaphorically. And literally. Ever since he had accidentally Conjured a cloud. A cloud that’s ever so cross. Join me for another journey as we, yet again, go through the motions of being his idiotic self. You know, I rarely ever like short fics. I’m surprised a lot of them ended up on this list, honestly! I won’t read anything under 60k if I can help it, and I couldn’t help it with faithwood. You shouldn’t either. Just go read this cute piece.

The Ties That Bind Us by Faith Wood (Explicit, 27k) An accident leaves Draco and Harry bound tightly together. Literally. Another short fic. The smut though! :D

Helix by Saras_Girl (Explicit, 92k) Seven months after the end of the war, Harry is feeling lost. Fortunately, he is about to be offered an unexpected and sparkling chance to find himself again. I left the best for last; someone (I don’t remember who!) once said that Sara’s Girl comes up with the best advent fics and boy are they right. I mean, just wow! Read it for the snails.

Talk to Me by Saras_Girl (T, 15k) When the usual channels of communication are shut down, the most surprising people can find a way in. A strange little love story. This was the first Drarry story I read after The Heist, and (I’m looking at you @jadepresley) the reason I’m into this ship right now. So yeah, this is short but amazing and I can’t recommend it enough. Pure fluff and Harry acting like an idiot. <3

2/4 The Teen Wolf writers knew this; the producers knew this; the actors knew this; the critics knew this; EVERYONE knew this. That’s why Jeff and Posey tried to bait viewers into watching season 6 using Dylan O’Brien’s name and rising star status and promised them lots of Stiles screen-time even though they knew Dylan was unavailable due to conflicting work schedules and that Stiles had only a bunch of scenes and a very limited role throughout the whole season.

3/4 The result? Viewers saw right through their bullshit and stopped watching as soon as they realized that the fan favorites were barely in it. (The ultimate bait was begging Tyler Hoechlin and Dylan O’Brien to come back for one last cameo in the finale, though.)

4/4 It’s not a coincidence that season 3B, the Stiles-centric season, is the highest rated and most critically acclaimed Teen Wolf season ever and that the ratings started tanking in Season 4, when the show writers and producers chose to destroy and sideline every single character – especially the fan favorites – and decreased their screen-time in order to bring the focus back on Scott.

TW started keeping Derek and Stiles apart in S3b. S4 was a whole ass mess, S5 failed to regain momentum and S6 was the nigh inevitable result of years of letting things skate. S1-S3 felt more like an honest progression of a show getting its legs under itself, which isn't too odd. A lot of shows have okay-to-good opening seasons then hit their stride, and a lot of stuff people griped about in S1-S2 seemed to be smoothing out. It was also early enough with few episodes that I'm sure lots of viewers expected the show to come back around and touch on some of the things mentioned previously. I think by the end of S3 (S3b, specifically) people had started to cotton on to the fact that some things were just not going to be revisited or explained. By the time S4 rolled around, we'd lost Gage, Sinqua, Crystal, Daniel, Max, Charlie and even Keahu.

During S4, TW seemed to hit a wall and also very obviously started to ignore character growth & experiences in favor of throwing a hundred new things at the audience. It wasn't just the loss of established characters and voices or perspectives, it was that loss coupled with the lack of exploration and growth in the remaining characters storylines. S5 continued that trend, as well as not having Hoechlin (or much of Ian or Seth, who were absent for much of S5 when storytelling could have used them), separating the mains and purposefully using horribly cliche 'miscommunications' to push everything along. Unfortunately, it just worked to push viewers away. By the end of S5, TW had done every single character so dirty that you could reasonably argue they had to be doing it on purpose, because few Productions can or would fuck themselves over to that degree accidentally. I think that's where TW really lost its audience, because even if your faves weren't around or focused on, what was happening didn't make sense. It wasn't just that some characters were gone, it was that a ton more had been shoved in nimbly-pimbly and not developed alongside the remaining cast from previous seasons being under utilized AND again, events that should have been discussed or folded in just got dropped.

S6 came along and used the same playbook as S4 and S5: add in more characters, throw convoluted storyline around, etc. Worse, I personally think it was clear that by this time a lot of the Production was just phoning it in. Nothing the characters were doing in 6B made any sense, and while having Hogan and Wagner back might have been a 'finish where we started' story wrap up, it just fell flat. I also absolutely hate unreliable narrator as a surprise ending simply because it gives the production a stupid easy way to shrug off their gross inconsistencies. It was poorly done and everybody knew it.

Again, the problem with Teen Wolf was the writing and production, not just the actors. I will say that I am old af and enjoy lots of ships, lots of characters and lots of different things, so I don't watch or read things based off of a specific ship or character. I wasn't a big fan of Stalia, I was cool with Stydia, I enjoy Sterek and Steter, it's not a focus issue for me.

Moving blogs + a reflection essay

tl;dr -- I’m moving my main blog. Because lots of my views on life have changed, my life has changed, and obviously my tastes in fandoms have changed. I’ll put the URL here later once I’ve made it. To see how I got to this position and where I am now, keep reading ^w^

Note: This is just my own opinion as to how I’ve seen Tumblr over the past few years. 

Well, it’s the start of a New Year. I haven’t been active much in 2017 but I’ll try and be active this year. Thanks to all the people who’ve helped and supported me this year and the following people who have made my life on Tumblr : *a list of people I rarely talk to anymore*

....Is what I would have said perhaps a year or two ago. I’m still glad I’ve joined this site and had conversations with some KnB fanatics like I was. However, I haven’t talked to them in a year. The only people I usually talk to on this site are basically nonexistent. I mean my friends from high school technically, but I talk to them irl during classes and lunch. The truth is that I have not been active on Tumblr for the past year. And my activity on the site was starting to wane in 2016 as well when I accidentally deleted my main blog last year when I was actually trying to delete a side blog I was working on. But that’s besides the fact as to why I’m moving. I’ve changed quite a bit since 2014 when I first joined Tumblr. My views of the world have changed, my life has changed, even the tiniest things such as my fandom tastes have changed. Because of this change, I’m moving to a new blog. Since you’ve decided to keep reading, I’m going to write a long detailed essay about the three things that have changed with me: my taste, my views on the world, and my life in 2014. You have the complete freedom to click out anytime ^w^

The fourteen-year-old me has a different shit taste in anime than the shit taste I have in anime now. Obviously, no one person can stay the same. If you’ve reblogged the little posts I’ve reblogged from other blogs (try saying that five times lol) notice how there’s barely any Hetalia or Kuroko no Basket or Haikyuu for that matter. Even when I’ve been active for the past few days, it’s been more positive posts, memes, and occasional anime of Hero Aca and such. So really if you want to know what I’m into at the moment, it’s Honeyworks, Hero Aca, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April), food, study things, any Makoto Shinkai film (doesn’t have to be Your Name but it can be) and always memes. And getting off from the high of finishing Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, I’ll be looking for that too. Also, notice the decline in squealing yaoi fangirl that used to squeal in the tags section about two dudes cross-dressing. Ah, yes. The Hetalia days of where I’d ship APH America with everyone and just had a huge obsession with APH America. The title of my blog (on mobile anyway) is still a quote from the dub haha.  To be fair, that squealing, yaoi fangirl did have a brief revival when Yuri on Ice was still airing. I still have a soft spot for the anime as it was very good (and still is, Phichit will forever be an angel) and I absolutely LOVE Makkachin still. But for the most part, I have mostly lost the whole yaoi fangirl that I once was in Freshman year of high school who still loved shipping countries together. Why I deviated from Hetalia is another post unto itself.

I mentioned how I haven’t been posting a lot of kurobas lately. Yes my interest has waned in the show, but I still appreciate what it’s done for me in my high school years. I still have a quote from Aida Riko back in the earlier chapters of the manga hanging on my wall as I work on homework: “I want you to have a big concrete objective and the will to achieve it.” I won’t deny, KnB really helped me set the mentality I needed to tackle high school -- to keep pushing myself to become a better person. Whether I fulfilled that expectation or not is debatable. But as always, the inspirational quotes of KnB will undoubtedly carry me onto college too.

Now don’t get triggered when I say that Tumblr can really take leftist ideology to the extreme. It’s definitely right to treat everybody equally no matter their skin color, gender, sexuality, shape, size, disability, etc. Basically, everyone deserves to be treated equally. That’d definitely fine and it’s the right way to live life after all. However, it first hit me in Junior year that Tumblr was getting annoying. The whole “the straights are terrible” and “white men should burn in hell” preaching gave Tumblr the black and white views of the world without any grays (or greys however you spell it) in between. Now I’m a straight CIS female. I’ve got good friends who are asexual, bi, lesbian, etc. I will say this, but I doubt it will be heard by the screams of hate against a straight CIS gender like myself: I DON’T CARE WHAT YOUR DAMN SEXUALITY OR GENDER OR COLOR OR WHATEVER IS AS LONG AS YOU ARE A NICE PERSON! If you are a trans, gay Hispanic (an example, not pointing you out) who treats other people terribly, that means I will flip you off and beat your ass (to some extent of this statement). Not all straight people are bad and not all gays are good and it goes for every demographic that exists ever.

Though it may seem that I am blaming all of Tumblr for acting this way, I am. But I can’t forget that I too, once had a black and white view of the world. As a fourteen-year-old who was very much shielded from the world because of a private Catholic school with conservative parents who are very well off, I had an inkling of what the rest of the world was like. And I feel like the people on Tumblr were just as uneducated about the world as I was. By no means do I know everything about the world now. A seventeen-year-old who hasn’t even finished high school will never know how the me from four years from now feels. I am just saying that my opinion from leaning so far left a damn tree would break has become more moderate. This website made me think: gosh being straight and CIS is uncool and being a normal functional being with no anxiety or depression isn’t normal too. I need to be bi and genderfluid! That was stupid thinking. Right now, I’m completely fine with being a straight, CIS female with no mental illnesses such as depression or anxiety who will gladly respect your pronouns.

Now life is really crazy. It was crazy in 2016, and it was crazy in 2017 too. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned that I’m from Las Vegas, Nevada now did I? Times have changed man. I don’t think I would have said that when I was 10 on a website lol. But yeah if you’ve somehow been scrolling this far down I commend your efforts. And I’m sure you’re getting really strained rn. So get some water, take a break, I’m sorry if you can’t get to a laptop or computer right now. Don’t read this in one go. If you’ve returned or decided to read straight on through welcome back or good for you respectively. Now I’ll repeat that again. Yes, I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. Right where Stephen Paddock decided to shoot from the 37th floor of Mandalay Bay onto the Route 91 Harvest Festival where over 500 people were wounded and 50 people were killed and where three students from my school were at on Sunday night (they were unharmed physically I believe). I found this out when I was tucked in bed at home, far from the strip checking my friend’s snapchats before I fell asleep. For the largest mass shooting in modern US history to take place in an area where my family would take our extended family to dinner or where we once had a New Years Eve celebration at the Vdara, is sickening. My cousins and I used to go to Mandalay Bay and hang out at the pool and stay the night because it was Spring break back when we were in middle school. My mom’s 40th birthday was at the Mandalay Bay. It’s terrible. I know how those people in Orlando and Colorado and everywhere else in the world feel when a mass shooting happens and completely disrupts your life. I’ve barely even been to the strip this year. The fact that a terror attack happened in my own backyard is beyond words. It makes me angry that some bastard decided to fuck up the lives of everyone in my city by ruining a good time at a concert. It makes me sad when I read a Washington Post later about a group of girls who went to a Lutheran school were affected by this event mentally and some even physically by this event. And that in turns makes me pissed off that some dude ruined the lives of teenage girls exactly like me, who were worried about the SAT and ACT and AP Classes and college. Fuck him.

So that’s my feelings on the shooting a few months late. But remember that I live in Las Vegas. You can’t just forget a mass shooting that happened in the city you live in. I’d mention how people would disagree with me that other events on the strip have happened such as a robbing at the Bellagio (it’s always the Bellagio man! That’s my fave part of the strip with the dancing waters and the seasonal garden inside like man they don’t deserve that) and etc. but feel free to disagree with me when you submit an ask dear anon.

Now on a somewhat lighter note, high school will forever be stressful. Going to the best high school in the state is stressful when all your friends have a nonstop grind to be one of the valedictorians (apparently you can have more than one?? I had no idea until I went to high school). Though I am nowhere near becoming a valedictorian, I still have plans to graduate with high honors ( wearing white for graduation) because half of the people graduating will wear white because it’s a magnet school dammit we’re kinda smart. AP classes have been part of my workload since Sophomore year which is right when I deleted my blog, but I managed to keep my activity up somewhat. Junior year slumped in my activity big time. APUSH is hard you guys. That’s it. I believe I posted a reflection at the start of 2017 detailing a bit more of this. But the difference this year is that I’m a senior in high school. That means college and scholarships. As I’ve mentioned before, I live in Nevada. I either stay in Las Vegas and attend the university there or I head up to Reno, which is like a 6-hour drive from home or just an hour flight. That means living in a dorm away from everything I’ve known. And that includes my boyfriend.

The biggest change in my life between Freshman year and now is that I’m taken! And honestly, it was the biggest fucking plot twist of 2016 (and the largest failed segway of 2018 thus far). I’m dating the largest weeb at my school ever and I’m happy dammit. Most of the time. I’ve learned a lot from being in a relationship like how to shut the fuck up and listen and appreciate more in life. By no means was my relationship perfect either. We’ve had a lot of fights. I’ve mentioned this in my reflection of 2016 at the start of last year so the rundown is that we’ve been together a year and a half now. I’m in a healthy relationship. Then college comes in and says hi. Now my boyfriend has decided to go to the university here in Las Vegas. I’m still very unsure as to where I want to go next. After all, the decision as to where to continue my education lies with me and I’m running out of time (I’m procrastinating on the decision right now lol). Four years ago, I had dreams of going out of state to either a UC school or the United States Airforce Academy in Colorado, until I learned that school outside of my state is expensive so I decided to stay within the confines of Nevada. 

And honestly, that’s where I’m at right now. Thanks for reading this long ass rant. I spent an hour or two typing this up. I just have a lot of feelings haha. I hope everyone has the best year ever.
