Let’s talk about the Kung Fu Panda 4 Trailer 

Okay, we finally got the trailer after waiting for so many months! 

First things first, my reaction to the trailer. I thought it was decent, I didn’t react too much but that doesn’t mean I didn’t like it. I couldn’t stop smiling seeing Po again, I was expecting to see more but this is just a tease. There probably is more that they can’t show us just yet. I watched this trailer multiple times. I’m gonna go on and talk about the things I like and things that I didn’t like.

The Pros: 

- The animation looks great as always. I was hoping they add in the hybrid animation but the one they’re using is still amazing. 

- Po is now using his jade staff to make combo moves which is awesome and I can't wait to see the creative battles. 

- I like Zhen so far and Aquafina’s voice fits her. I know people are saying her design looks weird but I think it looks fine, and I have liked Aquafina since seeing The Farewell. 

- The Chameleon looks beautiful! If you pause during her transformations she actually looks scary. DreamWorks made a frecking chameleon scary, how do they do that?!

- I like how they kept the animals at their accurate heights like it took me the fifth watch to realize how small Chameleon was compared to Tai Lung yet she took him down easily. 

-Speaking of Tai Lung, he is so back! The fact that he is on the poster could be hinting at a possible redemption arc so for those die-hard Tai Lung fans out there, I’m happy for you. 

-I’m also happy they even got Ke Huy Quan to join the cast. I grew up watching The Goonies and after seeing him in Everything Everywhere all at once, I said that he should be in a KFP film and I’m glad he is.

The Cons:

- The jokes are okay, the only one that made me laugh was Po choking on the flower petals. I hate fart jokes, I know that’s what made DreamWorks famous like Sherk but it doesn’t fit well with KFP. Hopefully that’s the only one and there are not too many gross jokes. 

- I like we’re getting new characters but I’m afraid they won’t be complex characters with arcs of their own but just there as comic relief. 

- I’m already annoyed by those crazy rabbits. 

- Tai Lung cannot catch a break. First, his chi was taken from Kai and now the Chameleon took his chi, I hope he doesn’t end up as a punching bag for the rest of the film. 

-I noticed there is a lack of a color theme, I had always theorized it would be purple but I keep seeing gold, green, and white. That’s not a good sign.

- Okay this is just my nick-pick but I was shocked to find out they got Viola Davis voicing the villain. I like her in some movies but she gives me this impression of those actresses with big egos. Honestly, her voice is nice but I need a full clip of her to get a full impression. 

- Lastly, there is no Furious Five. I saw how the fandom is freaking out about this, but I think they are in the movie, just not for long. While I’m sad we don’t see them, the reality is there really is no other purpose for them but to help Po. I still think they may show up at the end for the final battle. I don’t know what the actors are doing right now, but Seth Rogan came out with his movie this year, TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, so he’s probably busy writing the sequel. As for Tigress, I won’t be surprised if she doesn’t have speaking lines because Angelia Jolie is too busy dealing with her personal issues and her divorce right now.

Okay I got the pros and cons out of the way, now I want to talk about what I think may happen in KFP4. There are some things I’ve noticed in the trailer and I have too many theories and so many questions running in my head and I need to write it out. 

So Po’s Jade staff is definitely going play an important role in the story, it seem to have a connection to both the living world and the spiritual world. My guess is the Chameleon wants the staff for a higher purpose of her plan or she needs it to travel to the spirit world herself. We can see her summoning spirits over to the living world, capturing them, and literally eating their chi away. Chi is what helps the spirits stay in living world but Tai Lung’s chi was taken and we don’t know how this will affect him. He may be stuck there until he can get his chi back. 

I noticed in one shot of the trailer there are these strange boxes in the room where Tai Lung was fighting and I realized those are cages. The Chameleon is probably planning on keeping the villains as prisoners to take more chi from them. Knowing Po, he’s going to see this as wrong and wants to save the villains. I know it’s a stretch but I think it could happen. It would be so cool seeing Po, Tai Lung, Shen and Kai working together to take down the Chameleon.

But the question is what is her motive in all this? Why does she say to Po ‘we are not so different you and I’? If she is a powerful sorcerer then why does she need his staff? They better not say that she was never taken seriously enough, there’s gotta be more to it.

And there is Zhen, who I want to know the most. I’m sure they would show some flashbacks to her story and show why she became a criminal. For some reason, I keep thinking she maybe leading Po to a trap, which I hope that’s not the case, but she seems to know more than she lets on. Po didn’t know who the Chameleon was until Zhen explained to him and she knows where she lives. I hope she doesn’t end up being a backstabber because this character is supposed to be the next Dragon Warrior, it would be hard to forgive her if they went that route. 

But these are just my theories and questions that I have. There’s really nothing else to say other than despite my cons, I’m still hyped to see this film and praying to god this will be still good. They may put up another trailer later on, if it’s good enough I’ll write my reaction to it too.

“Animal”

Tags: modern uni au, secret musician James, late night radio host Regulus, James keeps sneaking into a recording booth when he thinks Regulus is gone for the night, regulus thinks he’s lost the plot until he investigates

Regulus is pretty sure he’s going crazy. Well — no, he’s already pretty sure he’s gone crazy, but now he thinks he might be haunted.

He typically gets off work around three in the morning these days; he’s been running the university’s nighttime radio station for the last few months and he really does enjoy it. It’s a perfect gig for an insomniac business student who hates his major and wishes he could change to musical theory but has no choice in the matter.

However, the last two weeks have been testing his patience. Every single morning when he’s closing up the studio, the light in one of the back recording rooms is on. Which wouldn’t be an issue, if he didn’t know for fact that he turned it off. So when he sees it back on again, he growls under his breath and works his way back through the shelves of records and CDs and radio equipment to deal with it once and for all.

His key slides into the lock and he twists the knob, only to open the door and see someone inside. Someone who is not only very much alive and not a ghost, but someone who is also unfortunately very, very familiar to him.

Lo and fucking behold, James Potter is standing with his back to Regulus in the doorway, clunky headphones over his ears, soundboard in front of him on the table, mic by his mouth, and a bring red electric guitar slung over his shoulders.

He has no idea how the hell James managed to get in here, and he knows he should kick him out, but his curiosity is boiling in his veins. He absolutely has to hear this. His brain refuses to accept that James bleeding Potter has any other talents than being an annoying prick that steals people’s brothers.

Regulus can hear James humming a melody he doesn’t know under his breath as he sets up, occasionally picking at his guitar strings, but not plugging it into the amp yet. He checks his watch for some unknown reason, then whatever he sees seems to spur him into actually plugging everything in. Regulus ducks out of the door and goes into the soundbooth where he might be able to hide a bit better. He flips the sound share switch and raises the volume inside the booth so he can hear what James is doing.

Finally, James hits the recording button and starts.

He starts with the melody from earlier. B F# E G#m and F# chords are looped with the soundboard. Then a soft beat gets laid down behind it. There’s a beat up notebook laying open beside the soundboard that James peers at while the simple loop plays in his headphones and inside the booth. He has to admit, he’s already somewhat impressed. He wouldn’t have expected James to get even this far around a sound board. The melody is quite catchy so far as well.

He watches as James steps to the mic and waits for the loop to start again. He’s wholly unprepared for the slightly raspy, sweet voice that comes out of his mouth.

“It’s an empty shell I’m livin’ in,

The doors are always closed,”

The riff he does on the word “closed” makes Regulus smile a bit, it’s not overly showy, it doesn’t quite feel like a “James Potter” type of thing. He’s strumming the same chords softly over the looped ones, but using them as singles. Regulus likes the effect they make. It almost sounds retro-ish, tinny in a way.

“And I spend my weeks,

Losin’ my head, restin’ my bones,

And they say that nothin’s given,

So I guess I’ll get nothin’ at all,”

The lyrics make no sense to him coming from James Potter. He should be talking about how great his life is, or how he “rescued” his best friend from his shit one, or something of the sort. Regulus doesn’t understand where these lyrics are coming from.

“And I’ll accept defeat,

Cause you can’t swing,

When the fight’s lost,”

A matching riff on “spend” and “accept” and Regulus likes the choice he makes there. The beat he laid down earlier comes in, and the music is deceptively upbeat for the lyrics so far.

“You know,

Can’t see the grass getting greener, cause

out here ain’t nothin’ but blue, and your eyes

Blood red, the high helps a little, but

Everyone you meet’s just passin’ through,

White lies take all of the colour from you,

Most nights you don’t sleep at all,

And you black out blind and hide,

Is there any wonder no one ever really tries to call?”

Regulus hates to admit it, but he’s a bit awestruck with the way James’ lyrics flow. The use of colour analogies in reference to, what Regulus assumes, emotional states and reactions. The lyrics and backing music are so diametrically opposed, it almost makes no sense, but it feels like the song is almost speaking separately from James singing it. Like it’s almost mocking the happy person singing it with its helplessness.

“And you say,

Ooo, sometimes I feel like an animal,

Ooo, I climb so high,

Just to feel the fall,

And let it go,

So,

Look me in the eyes,

Am I someone else?

Ooo, sometimes I feel like an animal, an animal, an animal,”

And that strikes a visceral pang deep in Regulus’s chest. How often has he felt the same way? Licking his wounds from behind the bars of his gilded cage, feeling like he has no more bodily autonomy than that of a pet. He wonders why James knows that same feeling.

The beat phases out with a push of a button on the soundboard. James is back to strumming single chords like he did in the beginning, and the second verse rolls off James’ tongue.

“And I always have a vision,

But I always let it go,

And then I feel too weak,

And it’s too much,

And it’s too close,”

The beat comes back again, but this time James adds some snare into it. He’s bobbing along with the beat with his entire upper body, bending over his guitar. The loop petal gets pressed and he’s back on his guitar as the pre-chorus rolls in again.

“Can’t see the grass getting greener, cause,

Out here ain’t nothin’ but blue, and your eyes,

Blood red, the high helps a little,

But everyone you meet’s just passin’ through,

White lies take all of the colour from you,

Most nights you don’t sleep at all,

And you black out blind and hide,

Is there any wonder no one really tries to call?

And you say,”

Regulus finds himself nodding along with it, humming the melody under his breath as he goes into the chorus. James is somehow dancing around the booth, still strumming, still singing, and managing not to trip over the cords on the ground. Regulus can’t help but grin at the silliness of it all.

“Ooo, sometimes I feel like an animal,

I climb so high,

Just to feel the fall,

And let it go,

So look me in the eye,

Am I someone else?

Ooo, sometimes I feel like an animal, an animal, an animal,”

This time when he goes into the pre-chorus, the beat and melody stays, but he brings the volume down on it, and slows it down to the same tempo and cadence of the first and second verses. Regulus can feel that this one means more to the song, like the first two allowed the listener to get caught up in the upbeat vibes, but now they had to come back to Earth and hear what he was saying.

“Can’t see the grass getting greener, cause,

Out here ain’t nothin’ but blue, and your eyes,

Blood red, the high helps a little,

But everyone you meet’s just passin’ through,”

There’s a up stress on “meet” in this one, and it pulls at the raspiness in James’ voice. Makes it sound raw and exposed, despite being in the studio. Regulus refuses to acknowledge the gooseflesh rising on his arms at it.

James cuts the beat entirely, holding his guitar and getting closer to the mic guard. He strums slowly and quietly, letting his voice hold the remnants of the melody. It’s soft and slow and quiet.

“You say,

Ooo sometimes I feel like an animal,

Ooo I climb so high,

Just to feel the fall,

And let it go,”

James builds the beat back up with a slow slide of a leveller, then let’s it cascade back in.

“So, look me in the eyes,

Am I someone else?

Ooo sometimes I feel like an animal,

An animal, an animal,”

James plays the recording back, listening intently to it, before nodding and beginning to pack his stuff up. Regulus makes like a bandit and rushing out, barely remembering to lock the door to the building behind him. He wants to stick around to see where the hell James is managing to get in from, but he doesn’t want to get caught snooping around business that is decidedly not his own.

As he’s walking back to his dorm, he realises he’s humming James’ song under his breath. The lyrics leave his lips in little puffs of white air in the cold night. He knows that song is going to be stuck in his head for at least a week. He wishes he could play it on the station on his next shift. He’d probably indulge himself and play it a few times.

He thinks nothing of the scene he’d witnessed the night before during his classes, spares no thought of being caught in his observation, convinced he’d been quiet and quick enough to avoid detection. But when he sits down at his station, ready to start his 11pm broadcast, a redbull, blueberry muffin — his go to snack for work from the student centre — and a flashdrive with a note sits on his desktop. The handwriting is sloppy, but undeniably familiar from the letters Regulus had seen sent to his house over the years before Sirius left.

Regulus, it reads.

Seemed like you enjoyed this one last night. You can play it if you want, Track 4 is the one, just don’t mention it’s me who made it, if you don’t mind. There’s a couple others on there if you’re curious. Come out of the booth next time.

P.S. text Sirius back, would you? He’s driving us all mad with all his whinging about you hating him again.

Regulus can’t help but laugh at the post script. He wasn’t aware that his brother’s friends were even aware of his existence, let alone his reemergence into Sirius’ life now that his parents aren’t aware of his every moment and breath. Nevertheless, he shoots a quick text off to his drama queen of a brother before he sets up to air.

As the “LIVE” light flicks on, his radio persona slips over him like a second skin, “Good evening, everyone,” he says quietly into the mic, “Welcome to Hogwarts University’s late night radio channel. My name is Leo and I’ll be your host for the night. Whether you’re headed to bed, up late studying, or trying to avoid the inevitable doom of exams coming up by starring into the void, we’ll have something for you.”

He can pretty much see Evan and Barty rolling their eyes at him from their dorm room, both of them some of his daily listeners along with the rest of their friend group, but he thinks he’s clever. At least he finds himself funny.

“I’ve got a bit of a treat for you all tonight. A new indie artist on the block to get us started, this is “Animal” by The Deerest Marauder. You’ll have to let me know if you like it as much as I do. As always, leave your feedback, song requests, and late night brain rot on the Instagram at HULateNight_Leo,”

It had taken him a bit to come up with a clever artist name for James. JFP was too obvious, Prongs was a dead giveaway seeing as Sirius wouldn’t know what an inside voice was if it hit him in the face and the entire campus knows James’ nickname. Regulus remembers Sirius calling their little band of chaos “the marauders” back in year ten. So from there, he’d come up with his own stupid pun. Again, at least he thinks he’s funny.

Flashdrive inserted into his laptop, Regulus clicks on Track 4, realising belatedly that he’d accidentally named James’ song for him, and presses play.

If he plays “Animal” and the other four tracks on the flashdrive several times throughout the night, and leaves the light on to the back recording booth before he leaves that night, it’s no one’s business but his own.

Hope Dream Theory Pt.2 (Just a rant tbh)

Ok, so I’ve been racking my brain thinking about the NOT CANON taming hope part 3, I’ve never been so happy to be wrong, but now I cant stop hypothesising what’s real and what’s not.

Look I understand it’s non canon but the building blocks of what it’s saying to the player is already in game, you can still kind of assume that maybe Hope wasn’t being physically tortured but just mentally, and as a result believes it 100% in her head that she looks awful ect etc. and that means it is real, or was, because its what she genuinely believes.

But, If Hope wasn’t tortured physically, what else is real? Did Raphael really kill a kid and some family in front of her? And what about the boudoir? Dream theory could explain a kid dying and a family in that they were possibly just nightmares but if it was specifically Raphael doing the deed, it seems less likely, that goes for the boudoir as well, it’s too specific to be a random nightmare. (Look, dream theory can only go so far lol)

A few people did bring up that whether is was physical torture or not, Hope believes it was 100% real so, it basically became real anyway. The only thing it really does is make Raphael or korilla feel better about what they’re doing. (I want you all to realise that I am coping so bad rn, the cope is real) I understand that if taming Hope part 3 is ever actually implemented in game it may soften Raphael’s character a lot, that is if you believe that everything he did to her wasn’t physical but mental, it’s easier to swallow, though still deplorable.

It’s my personal headcanon anyway, and look, the guy is never gonna be good but anyway to soften him up is great, I mean if his half brother Magadon can do it, so can he alright (sorta). Though I do feel like this explains alot, since Hope honestly feels like she only exists to give the player a reason to want to kill Raphael, otherwise he’s just too charming and no one would bother to kill him.

It will annoy me endlessly that there isn’t more in game information, I appreciate vagueness as it leaves room for theories but I’m dying for answers Larian 😭 because right now I’m going crazy over an entry that isn’t even in the game, just the files AHDKSJSKS LIKE- Look I would love a way to have my cake and eat it too, free my girl Hope but like, NOT KILL THE DEVIL BOY, that would be great, cause tho she’s hella under cooked and under utilised they made her too bubbly and likeable, that or I’m just weak.

This is turning into less of a new development to the theory and more of a rant lol, and though I would like an answer, I also think I would die if it’s just he is super evil like his dad and did all those things to hope, because some of the things that’s been said that he’s done to hope feels way too much like edgy evil things just to be evil (like his father has done, tho I know he hates him but still ends up being like him lol) one reason I like Raphael so much is that he’s nuanced and honest to the player (also why I have beef with how strict the DnD alignment system can be) he isn’t like Mizora that comes across as your typical devil, Raphael (purposefully) is different and yea that’s sort of his manipulation, it’s still refreshing to see, but I guess oh woe is I.

Like for instance, the boudoir dialogue that Hope hints at- WHAT DOES SHE MEAN, because yes, I think we can all guess what she means but also what does that actually mean in context? That she’s been (yknow) or she’s forced to I dunno watch ? If she has been (yknow) does Haarlep have her form? If so, why even bother trying to break her if he’s such the “hopeless romantic” (also not canon) if that’s what he was after.

look even as I’m typing this I realise how I sound, this is definitely a rant, but I can’t stop thinking about these pixel people lol, but the whole Raphael and Hope thing will never not bug me, for multiple reasons; it’s undercooked, vague, and didn’t really get the attention it kinda deserves especially since it’s probably one of the dark parts of the story (one of many to be honest) like the content matter leaves alot to the imagination.

Bleh, I love my girl Hope, especially the letter we get if we free her, and it’s actually sad to see her state in game, she’s all over the place, I just have so many questions about their entire dynamic, like I can understand how it might’ve happened, she’s a cleric who probably wanted to save her sister and didn’t know much about Raphael other than he’s a devil, and he just happened to gain a sick curiosity or obsession with her, but everything after that, after the first two entires, WHAT HAPPENS?! I’m hooked, I need to know the full context, was it just nightmares or was some of it real? Did he actually love her or did he grow to hate her? Is she actually Hope or has she just grown to believe that herself? If so, How could Korilla stand all that?

I guess for now I’m just stuck with Headcanons, but what do you think? What’s your take on it all?

Sooo, I just wanna add a few things extra here, Raphael is not rlly redeemable, and I really don’t want him to be BLEH good.. he’s is 100% lawful evil aligned, but like I said, I’m not a fan of the strict alignments in dnd, I think from a narrative perspective it’s more interesting to add nuance and maybe soften him a tiny smidge, and Raphael definitely shows that and the only time it ever tips the scales to completely abhorrent is when it’s what he’s done to Hope.

He doesn’t need to become his brother lol, but you’ve gotta admit how interesting it would be to see something other than a stereotypical devil, because he’s a devil can help you out for their own benefit, but they will never defer from their “nature” but I think It’d be cool to see him have an arc similar to the companions, breaking their cycles and change for the better (or worse)

His story wouldn’t even have to be convert him but something akin (a controversial take here) to Astarion. Astarion has a lot of reasons to why he is who is at the start of the game that Raphael really doesn’t (from what we know) but there’s so much you could do with his character, even as a non companion. I mean, he’s a sadistic asshole, (just look at his debtors) but what was it like being Mephistopheles kid? He was a child once I mean, and who was his mother? He must still have a human part of his family somewhere, unless they’re all dead.

This is all unnecessary stuff tbh, not even some of the companions get this much revealed about their history, but even just ignoring his possible past, how is he even going to take over the hells? He says that his father and Co. are coming to see him and “negotiate” or something but how’s that gonna turn out, huh? Like he says he’ll be knocking at our door but is he even gonna make it that far? Coz what I’m thinking is, he’s gonna get nerfed bro. Now a dlc could answer this but ehhhh, that’s not for awhile, if at all anyway.

This edit is going way away from dream theory but also dream theory or in Le head theory is frustrating, (for numerous reasons I know) because it’s the default explanation for anything isn’t it? Oh it was all a dream or coma or blah bleh blah, while it can explain a lot,it removes just as much, it makes Raphael soft, (YES ITS STILL TORTURE) but it’s easier for an audience to swallow. I don’t want to throw this theory out just to make him seem less villainy or whatever, I kinda just want it so Hope didn’t have to actually watch some kid or family die, or whatever happened in the boudoir, real to her but in reality no one had to die or whatever, love that girl bro, she rlly got the shit kicked outta her fr, but then again that’s why you can side with her and kill Raphael.

It’s so weird that I’d want this sorta theory for a character who is so blatantly evil aligned but hey a girl can dream, ok? 💅 like I said the coping here is real, and at this point of the rant I just seem like a crazy person, (so true) so I’m gonna end it here, STILL WOULD LOVE AN EXPLANATION LARIAN, taming hope part 3 will forever haunt me lol

No ‘cause I’ve just realized something from S1 (yes I must be the slowest person in the world).

I don’t know why, maybe it’s because the pogues have been friends since forever and from the very first minutes in the show their bond seems so great but in my mind I always associated Kie’s Kook year as something that happened in the past like a few years prior to that summer however at the very beginning of S1 they specifically say that Big John has been missing for 9 months and when later on Kiara and Pope are having that fight on the boat he says (roughly I don’t remember the exact words 🫣) “you’re trying to make it up ‘cause you feel guilty you weren’t there when his dad was gone” so it’s implied that Kie came back to the pogues just a handful of months prior to the beginning of the show, a little before that summer and it got me thinking about JJ’s “you’re picking Kie, no brainer” “We can’t do this without Kie” “what have you done to her John B?”

Pope clearly had some resentment inside that came out in that fight and if I remember correctly John B also says something about her maybe acting the way she is with him ‘cause she feels sorry, so it’s still clearly on their minds how she hasn’t been there for a while and during hard times however JJ never doubts her, he never for a second thinks of leaving her behind, he won’t allow John B to push her away again with the whole “Sarah issue” and doesn’t second guess her intentions ever. It’s something so hidden and that probably wasn’t even intentional in the storytelling but it’s one of those things that shows from the very beginning how they were so ride or die for each other. Throughout the show we always see Kie visibly annoyed at people belittling JJ, she won’t stand any shit against him and with JJ that thing about season 1 shows how it’s exactly the same from him, she’s back and she’s here to stay and she doesn’t have to take shit for her mistake.

THEY BETTER START SHOOTING S4 SOON OR I’M GONNA KEEP GOING INSANE OVER THESE THINGS!!

NO I LOVE THIS! It's one of those little things from S1 that drives me crazy as well. Now they've got the kook academy uniforms from S3, give me a Kie kook year episode in S4 😂

Not only does JJ never really hold her kook year against her it's also a line he immediately doesn't like Pope crossing in 1x08. That reaction always made me feel like JJ knew how dark of a time that was for her and felt really protective of her because of it. It's a really interesting period in jiara's relationship to contemplate. When she ghosted did he try the hardest to keep in touch? Did they actually communicate a little bit during the year? Did she confide him in?

There seem to be 2 main theories in the fandom about JJ's reaction to Kie post-kook year. The first being that it took him the longest to forgive her but once he did it was behind him and the second is that he forgave and forgot the fastest. I'm more in the latter camp personally although I think both options work.

scully's whole speech cracks me up every time. mulder is a SUCH a pain, but she doesn't question the case until they're already driving in the car for who knows how long. she loves taking queequeg with her. she loves that pup but she also loves annoying mulder as much as she loves their verbal spars.

"it's not jurisdiction that i'm questioning mulder...what are you leaving out?"

scully KNOWS the x files now, she knows mulder's game. this is a toned down fight club scene cuz they don't flirt like that yet. and literally why is he like this!!! he can never just tell her, he wants her to interrogate him lol

i actually really love this about them. mulder did this right from the pilot, and eventually scully yelled at him for keeping things from her, hindering the investigation by keeping her in the dark. she outright asks for his trust twice (i think?). and he still doesn't fully trust her for a while, but i think scully makes her ethics very clear, and that she has more of an open mind than she seems to. she just still thinks ~science will have the answers (and like...she's not wrong. even when mulder is right, they can't prove it without her science). and the more they get to know each other (and LIKE each other & trust each other) it really does become a game. mulder can see how her mind works, and then when she finally has all the information, scully can call him crazy and all is right with the world.

(scully is the only person who can call him crazy and he genuinely loves it. because he knows — because he learned it's affectionate — it doesn't mean she thinks any of less of him, and that she'll ignore his theories. she's just gonna make him work for it because he has to, to get what he wants. and scully will still be there by his side searching for the truth with him every step of the way.)

just a note: i'm kind of surprised she lets dr. farraday talk to mulder the way he does. although i think she might have some similar feelings, she absolutely thinks the x files are worth it and they've already seen some incredible things science didn't have answers for yet. even if at first it was only about what mulder said to her in the pilot — why does the fbi label the cases "unexplained phenomena" and ignore them? she's seen enough to know the x files are important and they do actually make a difference to the people they (try to) help.

i love this little bit of insight into child dana because what a nerd!! she worships the sea her father sailed on and she believed in mythical creatures and learned about them. even some more obscure ones. and she actually loves entertaining his notions and some friendly ribbing: (i love her she looks so soft here)

AND THIS. i can't help but think about deep throat when the woman in the diner starts telling him about ufos & he buys the picture. sucker. i swear she has the same exact expression on her face: (can't find the exact moment but)

I dont even think the tag is dead at all tbh. We were really spoiled last summer with 2k post per day, and something crazy happening everyday like Mikhailgate, scriptgate, sock anon or people impersonating Ross duffer, but if you check most tags on this app, that's rarely the case. The thing is, it's been a year since season 4 came out and we're still getting around 300 posts per day and I need people to realise how crazy that is. Before season 4 the tag had like 5 k followers and there could be days without a single post. The fact that it's been a year and we still surpass 200 posts, AND we've already made it through the most content drought phase of the hiatus (since filming is about to begin and we'll increase the daily posts again) is crazy. This tag is still very much active, even for a show that hasn't released any new content for a year. And also AO3 is still active. The fact that for a whole year, there's been writers who still update fics or create new ones everyday is something I'm not used to coming from other smaller fandoms.

I get it's a bit more boring right now and we are looking back to the may-august craze, but we've already made it through the worst and we only need to hold on for one more month

It’s so true though that we are a lot more active than we realize.

Tumblr in general I used to think of as like a no man’s land pre-s4 bc it tends to really only be active in specific fandoms where like the unity is on point bc the content is just rolling in.

So many fandoms reside here at a point, but dwindle over time, and I feel like we are very fortunate to have made a big space here bc it is a cool platform when you have a lot of people that like a certain thing and want to talk about it.

And we’re fortunate enough to be so massive and not only that but this is sort of just the beginning. Imagine how many followers we’ll gain leading up to s5, during and after…? Or the aftermath of people coming here to look at theories and be like YOU GUYS WERE RIGHT! All the queer fans who kind of talked down on us (understandably) for potentially falling for queerbait, joining in and being like wow this is surreal, it finally happened. It’s going to be magical.

For now I guess it just makes me wonder if I should take a break too?? Like seeing yourself over and over in the tag is almost a wake up call that I should step back like everyone else is for the time being? Bc like idk if it’s maybe annoying to see the same person over and over? Or if it’s just the reminder of how inactive things are and that’s what makes people step back too?

Not even a bad thing necessarily like you said, bc this is still an unprecedented case of a fandom being quite active despite the circumstances.

Honestly though, even if there isn’t much news going into May and in the couple months after it, beyond like the bare minimum of what we’re expecting, I’ll try to embrace it and maybe step back or even focus on more detailed posts instead of the day to day fodder.

I also hate myself for this, but I rarely go in the top posts tag??? I’m always like living in the recent posts part of it and that’s probably also the problem 😭

So reminder to anyone that’s like me who does the same, we gotta support more of us that have top posts too bc I will literally remember the top posts exists, go there, find absolute gems (obviously it’s top posts???) and then be like why the fuck don’t I come here more often??? That’s another way I could probably curb my disappointment about us not being as active as I’m used to. And it’s super simple.

There’s a lot of stuff like that I could do better at to contribute to the solution of this being a better experience for myself and other still active on here!

When I arrive at the family and friends area, some people are already there, but the only person I recognize is Grealish's girlfriend.

"Do you need any help, ma'am?" a steward asks.

"I'm looking for my seat" I say, showing her my phone.

"This way."

I'm sitting on the left side, away from the entrance, kind of hidden from the rest. But the views of the pitch are amazing. Maybe this change wasn't that bad.

"Would you like something to drink?" another steward asks me.

"I'm fine, thank you."

As she leaves, I notice someone staring at me. Someone very familiar. No. It can't be.

"Hey, I know you" he says, walking towards me.

Ivan. Rúben's brother. Fuck.

"You are Rúben's friend! Or should I say, girlfriend" he says, lowering his voice and sitting next to me.

"Excuse me?"

"He told me. Well, he had to tell me. I can be very persistent sometimes" Ivan shrugs. Persisten, or annoying as Rúben would say. "I didn't expect to see you here. He said you usually come to his Champions League games because you are free, but that you watch them down there."

"He couldn't get my usual ticket today.”

"This is a really good place to watch the game too, you'll see. Though he has also told me that you aren't a big City fan. Is that true?"

Is there anything about me that Rúben hasn't told him?

"It is, yes."

"We have theories about the team you support. Do you want to hear mine?"

"Go ahead." 

"I think you support United" he whispers.

"What?" I say, almost choking.

"Ha! I knew it! Look at your face. You are as red as their shirt."

"I don't support them."

"Yeah, yeah, try to fix it now" he laughs. "But don't worry, I won't tell Rúben."

"Ivan!" Someone calls behind him. But not just someone. His dad. Rúben's dad. Help.

The game is... Simply crazy. And for the first time, I do more than worry about Rúben and enjoy watching them play. Though I think I should thank Real Madrid for that.

Like I've done during other games, I walk towards the press area, where Lucy will be waiting for me to accompany me to the parking.

"What a game, uh?" she says.

"No time to get bored" I chuckle.

"We'll see what happens on the second leg. I don't trust those Spaniards."

"Hello, meu amor" Rúben says when we meet next to his car, kissing me on the cheek. "You must have enjoyed tonight's game."

"I did, yes. It helped me forget that I met your brother. This time properly."

"I guess. He told me he knew we were dating."

"Ugh, I'm sorry. But I had to tell him. He has been asking about you since the year literally started."

"I also saw your dad."

"What?"

"We didn't talk or anything. He just looked at me from afar because he saw me talking with Ivan. But he seemed... Intimidating."

"Really?" Rúben chuckles.

"I always thought I had my mother's temper. But anyway. Should we leave? I'm in the mood to celebrate" he says as he puts his hands on my hips, pulling me closer.

"Celebrate how?" I say, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"Well, I have some ideas. For example..."

"Rúben!" someone calls, making him jump and pull me away from him.

"Papa" he says, turning around, hiding me behind him and not letting me see who is the owner of the voice. Though I have recognized the word. Papa. Rúben's dad.

They start talking in Portuguese, but I'm not able to understand a thing. Then a woman speaks, also in Portuguese. Whatever she says, makes Rúben hid me a bit more behind him. What is going on?

They talk for a bit longer, and then he turns to look at me.

"They want to know who I am hiding" he says.

"Those are your parents, aren't they?"

"Yes."

"Are you gonna tell them about us?"

"I don't know. Are you ready for that? I don't want to pressure you or anything."

"Can we get away without telling the truth?"

"I don't think so."

Behind him, his mother speaks again, and judging by her tone, she's tired of waiting.

"Ready?" he says, offering me his hand.

"As ready as one can be" I say, taking a deep breath and his hand.

"That wasn't that bad, was it?" I say as we drive to Rúben's house.

"I was shitting myself."

"Same" I laugh. "But even though we didn't understand half of what the other was saying, it kind of worked."

"Really? He seemed so serious all the time."

"That's the way he is. But I can tell when he likes someone."

"What about your mum? She seemed very lovely... And she reminded me of you when you get all cute and lovey dovey."

"When do I get like that?"

"All the time when we are alone, Rúben. All the time. Like Lucy said when I first met her, you are a big guy on the outside, but a softie on the inside."

Ahaha, as I already said, this is an amazing question, thanks a lot! 😁 I’ll put it under a read more cause I think it might be long and also cringe in some places.

So I assume this will not go like creating an album normally goes. Let’s pretend they’re playing me the finished album as it was released and I give my opinion so they can quickly rewrite and re-record and remix everything. Very efficient. I’ll also try to stick to criticism cause if I start praising this will get way too long.

I kinda see why you chose Burn It Down as the first single at this point in time, but are you sure you don’t wanna go with Lost in the Echo? It’s a perfect blend of what people heard in A Thousand Suns and what people expect cause they’re still stuck in 2003. And frankly, it’s the better song. Yes I’m biased but my opinions are very correct.

Putting In My Remains right before Burn It Down is an interesting move. They’re rather similar and one song like that is enough tbh. Let’s get rid of Burn It Down (at this point I get fired cause it’s their commercially most successful song if I’m not mistaken)

Don’t get mad at me but do we really need Tinfoil? The last time you had a great standalone instrumental was on Meteora. The instrumentals on ATS worked well with the songs, but these times are over.

…so you made another In Pieces, but with the additional experience from ATS and called it Skin to Bone? Eh.

So I noticed how she changed her profile pic in the morning and thought it was mostly nothing. I didn't really keep up with the website codes or Red herring or anything and thought the only thing that would happen is an outfit hinting at rep...which was mostly true. I never thought she would announce anything at the Grammys! I was happy to see her win the category and when she announced it..I was really shocked and confused?Lol I mean..new album? Instead of rep? The title that was longer than most of her album names? Then the announcement/photo prologue she posted. It might have been more shocking than Midnights but that time I was so shocked I cried lol. I don't think it was more shocking..it just left me like what??? I honestly don't know how I feel about the album title or aesthetics yet but I think it could match my earlier prediction of a mix between Folklore and Red with maybe Midnights. If she is performing it on tour, I think it will be more acoustic and that would fit with a breakup album. I think it fit that a little bit but then it still feels like Folklore to me. It also reminds me of Dead Poets Society lol and I've seen other theories on the theme and choosing her career as a poet. But then there is the other side that says it's black and white like Rep and will be the other side of that with like the anger and revenge side. That's not what I thought at all so now i don't know! I guess the cover leaned into that how it only shows half of her face like 1989 or rep but i'm not crazy about the cover either..like it didn't fit with the title at all. However I guess I would love a mix of all three since rep red and folklore are my fav albums. What do you think? I hope you have a great week! 🩷

i was actually at powerpoint night with some friends and my phone started blowing up so i went and looked and i was shocked that there was a new album. — i'm putting my thoughts under the cut! 🤍

i've been seeing a lot of non-swifties criticize her for announcing it at the grammys, since the grammys is a black tie event / a more ~ professional ~ one, and every video i see of the crowd is a little 😵‍💫 . i think there were some things about the grammys that i've seen that just make me feel a bit 😵‍💫 about that entire night. like her pulling up lana on stage, and the way she interacted with boygenius... i just feel a bit 😵‍💫 overall haha.

i've saw something about how it's labeled as synth-pop, which is interesting, since it doesn't match the album art at all, but was talking to friends about how the same thing happened with midnights (labeled as rock originally, marketed as a 70s aesthetic) and how evermore was originally also labeled as synth-pop. so i guess that doesn't really matter.

i think it might sound a bit like midnights 3 am + folklore / evermore, but i feel like taylor always manages to surprise me in terms of sound / lyrics ! have you seen the theory about how rep was more black than white, and this is like the opposite? i'm surprised she dropped the track list so early — i guess to build anticipation? i like the album cover and the album art at the back, and i'm curious about the "i love you, it's ruining my life" line and what that's a song lyric from!

i don't really know how i feel about this album; i keep alternating between being excited and also just being annoyed at all the ~ swiftie discourse ~ i've been seeing and how a lot of people seem determined to perform a public autopsy on her relationship with joe alwyn. which just ... makes me feel weird? like obviously taylor's a singer/songwriter that draws on a lot of her personal experiences! that's normal! but also the way swifties talk about joe is just ... a bit odd, in my opinion! like we're taylor fans, i get it, we don't want taylor to be upset, etc. but i also think that the way people talk about joe like he's the worst person on earth is a bit weird when his biggest crime (as far as i know) is ... getting complacent in a relationship? like when jake gyllennhaal and john mayer are ... right there? i just ... sigh!

So, I'm in love with Hanako/Ayame and Tsukasa. Always been a fan of the duality between twins, and their powers compliment each other really well. I can't wait for a continuation!

The art style is cute and unique and I didn't expect the story to be that interesting at first, but it grew surprisingly dark and I love how different it takes people's ideas on things. Scary stories always have a habit of changing, and it's interesting to see that affect the ghosts and how they act. Playing on the powers of manifestation is very much appreciated, and thoughtful. It's given me a few ideas on how I think it'll progress, storyline wise, and if anyone's interested in me sharing, let me know. ^^

Anyway, it's short enough that I highly recommend everyone watch it. At worst, it'll only take a few hours to get through, and it's definitely worth it, I promise. The characters are endeared to you pretty quickly, even the one's that are annoying (Mitsuba did not sit well with me at first, but he grew on me quick).

My favorite character so far is Hanako/Ayame. I love Kou. I've seen that cliche of the guy being hopelessly in love with a girl so many times, but this was just so pure and sweet, it was hard not to love him. 💙 Nene, while cute, hasn't earned my affections yet, but she strongly reminds me of Tohru from Fruits Basket, except she's boy crazy, which is cute sometimes, but here it feels a bit... much I guess? Nene's got so much going on that it sort of feels like they just added the boy craziness so they could force her through the storyline when they needed to, and it doesn't really feel like a genuine personality trait to me. Otherwise though, she's cute, and I can see her being really relatable.

Natsuhiko, while super annoying to the other characters, takes on the perv role more uniquely than most, and I actually kind of like him. And I'm interested in seeing more of Teru in the anime. He really makes me wonder if it's some sort of repeating cycle that he'd already been through. 😏 And I love the opening! Especially this scene here! (Love that it's a gif.)

I could watch it on repeat over and over again to the music. I don't know why, but it's so visceral and dark and I love it. Anyway, when I get time some day, I plan on making some fanart for this, but don't hold your breath. It make take a long while. XD

I think the issue with Payu and Rain is that they had no interesting storyline. Boss and Noeul had amazing chemistry and even though Rain was immature and kind of annoying in the beginning, he ended up growing on me a lot, and it also worked with the dynamic of the couple. What annoyed me the most was their big Climax ended up being very underwhelming and the conflict just came out of nowhere and honestly didn’t make much sense to me. It was kind of odd tbh. Pai and Sky had so much more richness to their story in a way the former couple didn’t. They had a much deeper connection by the end of the series and I felt Payu and Rain were lacking a bit. Even the conflict of “Payu is cheating on me because I saw 0.2 seconds of a friendly interaction without any context so I’m gonna run away” felt a bit lazy in the writing department if I’m being honest. It’s such an overused trope that it just bugs me anymore when I see it. I think I would’ve enjoyed the first half a little better if their storyline had a little more substance to it. I’d still rec it to people but it’s be more of a “it’s terrible but you’ll love it” kind of thing. It’s a guilty pleasure lol!

Please keep getting hooked on BL’s because I need more of the good ones. You’ve gotten me hooked on at least two now.

Ok yes 100% to this. I did not even get into the Payu/ Rain storyline because I literally forget it exists lmao. What even was that final hour conflict?! I've talked to another friend about this too. It was just unnecessary. They could had had the climax conflict for that storyline be Rain's reservations about being public with his relationship, and how that would be a problem considering others' desire for Payu and the general jealousy they both harbour when it comes to the other. But I guess they were held back by the book storyline which I'm assuming was about what we saw play out on screen. Also as an aside, Chan wasn't a character who was poorly presented at all. He honestly was pretty cool. But kinnporsche has ruined me and literally all I could think when Chan came on screen was that Kinn would have done it so much better 😂.

Pai and Sky absolutely had a better, more interesting, and more appropriately developed storyline. I was pretty nervous about how the show would handle such a serious topic. In general I watched LITA in a pretty light-hearted way, so it made me nervous that they had introduced a storyline with real trauma and dark themes. But I was pleasantly surprised by how it all went down. I thought overall they did a really good job of showing how Sky's trauma affected his life and relationships, and they managed to make him a truly strong and incredible character, even as they had Pai 'save' him in many ways (not in a 'love heals all wounds' way, but in a 'the loving, unconditional support of a partner can help you begin healing' kind of way). I hate the 'oh no he's cheating' trope too, but at the very least, it made sense from Sky's pov and how they had built the storyline (with Pai being a playboy, and Sky’s self-worth being 6 feet under). And I appreciated that they resolved it in one ep and it resulted in such an impactful confrontation and confessions of love. I was worried about how the Gunn stuff would go too but I was soooo satisfied with how it was handled. I appreciated so much that they didn't go the route of Pai bursting into the room and freaking out in jealousy or thinking Sky was cheating, etc etc. That they had him confused and worried and holding back on his reaction until he understood the situation made me love his character even more (and then beating in Gunn's face was just a bonus 😌). And I don't think I will ever get over the way the line 'Can't I be only yours?' destroyed my heart and soul. That is the kind of angsty line that will stay with me (I say that as the highest compliment).

I do love that the show gave such different pairings tho and neither tried to be the other. Payu and Rain were the sort of ridiculous, fun, light-hearted pairing that I would expect of a comedy in uni... the kind of couple you can believe date through uni and who knows about the future. Sky and Pai were the much more intense 'soulmates' kind of bond that I am a total sucker for. And it was done so believably that the marriage convo at the end wasn't forced at all but made perfect sense - it was the future I saw for them. So I like that whatever characters or relationships people preferred in the show, everyone kind of came out winning.

Love that you get into these shows too tho! It's so much fun! I really only have two recs in the BL world so far apart from Kinnporsche (tho I agree LITA is definite rec in a ‘it’s terrible, you’ll love it’ way lol). I'll summarize them below, but have you watched Not Me? You gotta watch that one. For some reason when I saw stuff on tumblr about it, I didn't think I'd like it. But my god... I was wrong. Watch it! And the other is Manner of Death (different experience but more adult and genuinely so enjoyable). Here are some details so you can decide for yourself:

1. Not Me - The easiest rec. It’s completely brilliant even outside of the world of BLs. The actors are seriously phenomenal, their chemistry is top notch (they’re apparently one of the big BL couples, though I didn’t know that before watching), the storyline is really apropos of the world’s current state, it’s not explicit in the way Kinnporsche or LITA are but it’s not PG, and the soundtrack (which personally really affects my viewing experience and can make or break a show for me) is 👌👌👌. Watch it.

2. Manner of Death - I loved this one but I will qualify that statement by saying I loved the murder mystery plot and if that isn’t your jam, you may not, because while the love story is absolutely there, the murder plot is at the core of the show. I loved Max and Tul as the leads (their chemistry is 🔥), I loved the dark, adult plot-line (this not a teeny bopper romance or storyline), and I loved that I was surprised multiple times while watching. I will say that Tul is a much weaker actor than Max imo, but he still managed to create a charming character, and the actors’ chemistry makes up for anything lacking.

worst storyline: i’ll be honest the date 💔 i do like it from the perspective of an aro guy forcing attraction but i still prefer the hangout way more for. obvious reasons

For Edelweiss: My user? Well in all honesty, it’s for something special I haven’t started on yet. I wanted to write a big giant 100,000K+ blah blah blah word story about my (somewhat toxic, yanderish, crazy, impulsive, self-indulgent—) OCs and their ‘love lives’. Moogus is the protag, and for easy recognition as the creator, I put it as my user! <3 (feel free to dm for more details, I wrote some drabbles on them and I wanted feedback without posting them on a broad platform)

For ivy: Oh my tells huh?? Good one. I like to try and be easy to read, (or not, depends on the mindset atm) so if I’m happy, I’m not exactly smiling, but my mouth isn’t downturned a light tone of voice accompanied by upturned eyes and a genuine response to anything that goes on. If I’m annoyed, it’s usually the opposite. Cut eyes, (itchy hair too, might I add.) small grimace, twitchy fingers, and usually a snark or snap in response to anything, especially if I’d consider it a ‘waste of time’ (i.e how ya doin? Sup? Whatcha doin? What’s on yer mind? Etc.) Annoyed and upset differ only slightly. When I’m upset, there’s the sauntering, and dragging of feet, avoidance of light and people, and glaring daggers into your back. (Bottom line, bad mood, do not approach.) When I’m tired I sleep lol. (Guess you didn’t really specify which emotions, so I just did the four from the prompt! I hope you have a general idea of what I tend to act like now.)

For papyrus: Hmmm haven’t tried that yet, —quickly boots up laptop and shuffles— ok so the first one that came up was ‘My Ordinary Life’ by The Living Tombstone. I like the fact that I relate to it so much… for like the longest time I’ve been the best at everything I do, mainly academics. And because of that, my own success has me in a chokehold kind of. I don’t make a lot of friends, and I’m always straining to be polite, staying one my toes. It’s weird, like I’m so great in my one little area, when there are three things that make it seem kinda worthless. A: it’s clearly easy for me to lose that (demonstrated by my peers) B: no value in the real world (who actually uses algebraic theories and quadratics unless that’s your job or something) C: it’s such a small confined area lol. And while the song may only reflect this shallowly, I think it means a lot. Because it’s really, really, just kinda calling me out lol.

sooo a lot of confusing things happened.

i went to see puss in boots yesterday and the hype is so worth it! im obsessed! it was so good!!!

and guess who i invited to the cinema with me...............

yeah, i know, i don't understand either. i texted him when i was on the train from luzern and he said yes. and so we went together.

(i was being weird on the phone with my parents about it so now they think that i have a secret lover lol. like idk i just can't lie to my parents so when they asked me who i went to the cinema with i was like "nobody!!!!" and it sounded very sspicious. so yeah, they believe that im seeing someone new now. but no lol. im just back on my bs.)

after the film we decided to go get a drink (i had green tea) and we had a very strange conversation. i told him about the books ive been reading and how im slowly making my way through kundera's "immortality" but i don't understand any of it. and then we talked about immortality (bc it was also a theme in puss in boots!) in relation to fame and who gets to be famous and who will always be left in the shadows. and then we said something along the lines of "extraordinary people get to be famous and normal people don't". and then i started telling him about how i think that it didn't work out between us bc we're not normal and we need normality to balance things out.

he said that his first relationship was with a normal person and, even though she was amazing, the relationship was boring. and he said that when he realised that i was crazy he found it charming. and it made me blush.

but anyway i started telling him about my zurich friend and my normal boyfriend fantasy and how i just want to fall in love with a normal person and be normal and hold hands. and he said that my zurich friend is very far from normal and how what we had was actually a normal relationship and i was too spoiled to realise it. he predicts that im gonna realise it in the future bc im gonna meet a lot of shitty guys and regret leaving him. but it will be a good learning experience for me.

and yeah he said that im not making sense and im speaking nonsense. and i think he's right bc ever since i isolated myself from society ive just been a bit insane. like im slowly descending into madness which i think is good for me bc i really need to think and analyse things. but at the same time ive become detached from reality. and now i have all these theories about wanting a normal boyfriend and hating the balkans.

then okay girlies bear with me... i missed my last tram and..... slept over at his place... yikes, i know i know.... but he promised we were gonna sleep in different beds (spoiler: we didn't) and we were just gonna drink tea and chat (spoiler: we didn't just drink tea and chat). and uhh im not gonna go into the details but i didn't feel really good. i just felt like... annoyed i guess is the best word to describe it.

i asked him if we could be friends bc i really want to be friends with him. i want to see his future spouse and kids and i want him to see mine. and i want us to be best friends until we die. but he said that if it's definitely over between us as a couple, we're not gonna see each other again. and it made me sad. why so harsh? why can't we just admit that it doesn't work and stay friends? he wouldn't give me an answer.

this morning we talked a bit more about our relationship and normality and stuff. and he said that in order to be a better and more mature person and actually learn from the past, i need to face my fears and confront him. and we can try to be bf/gf again but make an effort this time. and if it doesn't work, at least we would've tried.

so i was thinking about that for the whole day today. weighing the pros and cons and trying to understand what is "délire" and what is actually reasonable. i feel like im missing something in my brain, i swear. why do i never know what's right and wrong? what do i want and what do i not want? i feel like im disabled or something idk.

and then all of a sudden my dad (who i haven't heard from in a while) messages me like "call me now". he's in india now and i thought it was something urgent. so i called him. and the call lasted only 10 minutes (usually he goes on and on about conspiracy theories for like an hour). and this is what he said:

"you need to get back together with B!!! he's a good man. and it's rare in our day and age. there's a slavic genocide going on. and you guys have a problem with homosexuals in europe. and B represents gender values and he's a real man, which is so rare! sure, nobody's perfect i mean look at me. but B has more pros than cons. sure he's lazy, maybe he even goes to see other hoes from time to time. but nobody is perfect and your clock is ticking. you're 23 and healthy, it's the best time to have a child! if you're still unmarried at 30, people are gonna look at you weird. marriage is a status symbol, you know, it doesn't mean anything. you can get divorced. but being divorced at 30 is so much better than never having been married. it shows that you're a serious woman. and you should try to get back with him. organise a theatrical performance or something, i don't know. and tell him that the wedding's in may so he will be keeping busy organising everything. it's better to do things you regret, than regretting not doing things. okay bye!"

oh vampire, a dear OG in the game’s history. he may not be the most emotionally complex or lore-heavy character, but he’s still a little skrunkly to many a player. i think what i like most about him is what fans have made him into. in the games, hes honestly just??? a guy. hes just a dude who loves his juice and annoys his tryhard sister. i like that he’s so simple, and i also like that like... the fact that he’s a vampire isnt really a HUGE impacting factor on who he is as a person. like hes lazy and apathetic and lowkey an alcoholic that JUST SO HAPPENS to also be a vampire. i think thats really funny. 

then theres the fandom side of him. in-game, i like that hes pretty two-dimensional, but god DAMN the fandom has some slappin’ interpretations of him. ugh ugh ugh UGHHHH I LOVE IT WHEN PEOPLE TAKE HIM AND MAKE HIM SO MUCH DEEPER!!!!!! like usually i hate it when an obviously static comic-relief character is put through the “edgy backstory” wringer BUT WITH VAMP ITS ALWAYS SO GOOD AND JUICY YES GIVE ME MOREEE

i also just love that according to his description, mans was content to just die in the oven because he was already drunk when he was baked. and his lines/delivery is kingdom is fucking GODLY. i want to BE him. hes unaware of everything. mans just out here having the time of his life and getting blackout drunk. god i want to hang out with him so fucking bad. 100% on my dream blunt rotation.

dark enchantress is a special case. like, deep down i know i have a lot of thoughts about her, but those thoughts are still kinda coalescing into introspection of who she is.

i cant help but feel like a lot of people interpret her wrong. DE isnt a wholly evil and morally bankrupt character (at least in kingdom, that is. ovenbreak is a bit of a different story bc of the context/lack thereof) and im tired of people treating her like she is!!!!!!!! shes probably like one of the deepest fucking characters in the game and grrr i wanna tear her apart and study her in a lab. i want to put her in  a maze with cheese at the end of it. i want to put a little brainwave sensor on her head and show her a selection of varying photographs and ask her what she thinks of each of them.

i just.... god every story update i hope and pray that she has a part to play in it. seriously the vanilla kingdom chapters are my fucking favorite because we learn so much about her in so little time. shes NOT this completely and utterly evil being just like white lily was not a wholly good and angelic figure. they both had their flaws but white lily when white lily was rebaked the flaws that she had were just amplified tenfold. or at least thats my theory on what happened there. DEs motivations are directly derived from those that she had as white lily, those being a desire to help cookie kind. its that whole right desire wrong reasons shpeal you always see.

okay but the one thing about her is why exactly is she waging war on cookies to “save cookies”????????? i dont exactly get the reasoning behind that. like i know she wants to rebuild the world in her image but i guess i dont quite get how that connects to her wanting to spread the truth about cookies. my only theory is that shes mad at the ignorance of cookiekind and that she wants everyone up in arms over the witches just like she is, but i still dont see why shes actively killing cookies to achieve this goal??? idk maybe i need to read into it more lol

quick mention i dont have much to add on to this but has anyone else noticed the design parallels she has with millennial tree? ok its mostly about the horns and the clothes but still im jus sayin fam
