putting this at the top because it's extremely important but i received a message implying that some folks headcanon these two as drastically different ages. you may headcanon whatever you like of course, but in my work i firmly think that they're both full adults who are at least 25+. this is abundantly clear in my work. i'm not interested in headcanoning any of them as literal children and i would never touch that shit. dni if you think that sort of ship would actually be okay. don't be a freak. thanks.

they are both industrious adventurers, prolific hard-workers (team task doers), and a little cheekily competitive!

i think that bandee is no stranger to a wide variety of close and intense relationships; he's beloved by many and loves them all equally but distinctly in turn. magolor on the other hand has been sooo isolated and lonely for such a long-ass time, he barely knows how to be friends let alone really care for someone. bandee is smart enough to be suitably wary but kind enough to give him a chance despite that, which i think would knock him off his non-existent feet instantly. in reply, magolor could give him something unique by loving and prioritising him utterly singularly, in a way bandee wouldn't even have realised he was missing

in awtdy (pictured in the sketch page; if you see a tattered looking magolor in my art it's probably this au) in particular they are both thrown into the angst soup together and come out insanely trauma bonded at the hip. their friendship/relationship is central to the plotline; together they're working on a solution to the timeline anomaly, while also hiding that they even really know each other the whole time

I didn't do one last year because i felt like i did very little, beside being quite depressed and in a general low stage of my life.

This year tho, has been really a different story: I really missed drawing like this, so often, so energically, full of passion and, honestly, pride for my results. I'm very happy and I truly hope to continue this path.

A really, really big thanks also to all of you. I felt part of something beautiful and the love I received was almost blinding, it made me go on and helped me truly a lot.

Is it TF?

TF, as in Transformation, is a concept that can mean quite a few things to many different people- and when depicted in art or media, usually consists of some sort of physical or psychological transformation of one thing into another, often including the contexts before or after such a change occurs. 

For the purposes of this blog, the assumed pretense that the TF or TF-adjacent content depicted in posts on this blog being nonsexual in this manner is considered the default, and will be treated or engaged with as such unless clarified otherwise, but there are plenty of ways those who engage in TF art can enjoy it! There are many who consider it a paraphilia for themselves and commonly enjoy it as a sexual theme, but it is also quite common for people to enjoy it entirely nonsexually, as well- perhaps exploring it under a lens of gender, as a vessel or narrative device to communicate themes, or just liking it as an unrelated special interest... TF is fascinating and alluring concept in itself, regardless of the ways it can be enjoyed and explored.

I made this blog because I love it when I see people unintentionally making TF posts on tumblr. I feel like it happens a lot and I think it's really, really funny when it does, by accident or not. Feel free to tag me in posts or send in questions asking if something is TF, and I'll give my honest answer as an expert in the field myself.

Im not gonna hold u; this big run was miserable. Like the map was just So Fucking Bad. High tide was hell. Getting horrorboros on hightide was an immediate death sentence. Reg tide was annoying (having the natural spawn be a foot away from the ramp close to the basket was not okay who let this happen???) Low tide was BAD like SO BAD there is just no way u can say its okay to have all threats from all directions AND have me climb up to get long range threats???? And u know its awful when they have to literally hide the fucking big shot cannon behind a lower ledge directly outside their own spawning geyser bc the alternative would make it laughably close to spawn 😭😭😭😭😭 and on top of this, they gave us arguably the worst grizzco weapon (brella) for a run that incentivizes high scores like just seeing Three Grizzco Brellas and a Rapid Blaster Pro for High Tide immediately made me want to give up; a [grizzco] Charger or Blaster wouldve been way more manageable for the absolute dogshit spawns they gave us. No one uses specials, or if i check the app for boss kills, ill see that our only solution to NINE (FUCKING NINE) flyfish was a killerwail that wants so so SO desperately to lock on to this maws underground and an inkstrike that needs to u be midrange to throw and that never happens bc all of us are pushed into high tide territory bc again. They have decided that having their spawns be right next to the basket was okay. I never complain about splatoon or salmon run rotations and i literally will just suck it up if they give us bad weapons but i literally had No Fucking Fun at all. It was 100% stressful and im blessed to have even found a decent freelance group that got me to 153 eggs like i wont get gold but i hope thats at least silver 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

ive been having a lot of fun incorporating embroidery onto paper drawings in school recently (inspired by a printmaking teacher i had once who sometimes stitched her prints, it looked really cool!) but one thing that has kind of been bugging me is how my instructors have been talking about the gendered aspect of it. i know using any form of textile practice in contemporary art is gonna get some kind of thoughts about the historical concept of "women's work" and i dont mind that thats chill thats like normal. its not what, i, the artist, is focusing on personally, but death of the author and all that, as an interpretation its an interesting thing to think about and equally as valid as my intention. also a good topic for essays and such

BUT today my instructor tried to convince me that i can embroider directly on printer paper instead of the thicker papers ive been using and i was like ABSOLUTELY NOT maybe YOU can but I have BIG CLUMSY SWEATY HOT MITTEN HANDS and i Destroy printer paper by looking at it funny. the second a photocopy reaches my skin its already wrinkled. gloves dont help my sweat is too powerful. im CLAMMY leave me ALONE hfkjrwefhjegrfe

and there is an unconcious bias ive been noticing of a lot of very progressively minded artists assuming that i can do this shit delicately. listen. embroidery can be a very delicate and masterful skill that people hone over decades. but not everyone who does it is that skilled master. some of us just like to clumsily sew string through stuff so they can feel the texture. and some of us are really sweaty.

#actually the way my class and department faculty in general talk about gender and feminism in art is a little offputting in general recently #the focus on softness and delicateness and stereotypical markers of femininity is chill thats like an interesting thing to think about #lots of things to explore and critique and then embrace as not innate 'womanly' things but as like. human. as women are human #that type of thing. but theres been a lot of simultaneous emphasis among my peers of like this universal womanhood? #woman as the archetype. and woman as something wholly different from anything else. and the universal 'sisterhood' #i dunno im like fat mixed race kinda gnc and more visibly disabled than i think i am so i was like #never gonna be fully brought into that supposed 'universal sisterhood' anyway #and whether i personally think of myself as a woman or not in general is nobodys business least of all my own #BUT it is bizarre - this universal womanhood narrative. i think exploring one's own femininity is extremely interesting. #is it soft? is it hard? something else? all kinds of ways to think about it #i think the pitfall im falling in with my peers is the habit of assuming you need to make art as a universal message: theres no such thing #any 'universal message' you make will always exclude people you dont mean to exclude #if you depict your universal womanhood as young and soft and skinny and feminine and nuturing - then i might wonder #about the women who are outside of that. what about that fat masc 60 year old woman who cant nuture for shit #(gets so hard i get naseous. i think i hauve covid) i dunno its on my mind a lot #maybe thats just the way things go even in art spaces that are trying to be progressive? always a type of woman who is in vogue #a type of woman who is considered the default? and whoevers outside of that is left out of the conversation entirely #(<- bmpmp3 discovering the basics of misogyny live in the tags of this tumblr post LOL but yknow what i mean)
